On Xiao being from Sumeru/Ashikai's video on the Yaksha - I actually came to the conclusion on the possible connection between Xiao and Sumeru on my own, before I saw anyone else talk about it because I've only really started looking for more theory stuff as opposed to just fic recently. It was pretty validating to see other people drawing the same conclusions! I actually originally drew a connection based on remembering the Aranara and their thing with dreams, and it was when I went back to check my sources that I remembered that all three of the Sumeru gods we know about had something to do with dreams. Even if Xiao is connected to Sumeru though, I don't think he's from Sumeru because Sumeru doesn't really seem to have the framework for the kind of beings that adepti are?
Also, as someone who's studies real life Indian religions, Sumeru really does have a lot of non-Indian influence, and even some of the parts where there are more explicit references to Indian stuff honestly feel kind of off?
yeah, even if there's interesting connections there, whenever i've considered the xiao-sumeru link it's always ended up in my mind as "maybe xiao's master originally came from sumeru" rather than "xiao is from sumeru", for mostly the same reason as you mentioned, yeah,,,
i'm not knowledgeable enough on india's culture or religion to really comment on the sumeru things, but even i can see that the desert is mostly egyptian, and i've seen people pointing out the different inspirations for some things, so like- it did always seem to me like sumeru was the hodgepodge of arabian/arabian adjacent stuff, fontaine and mondstadt were a bit more of a focused-still-kinda-hodgepodge of certain european countries, and then like. japan and china all on their own lmao

i think it’s so funny to be a writer with multiple stories that you flesh out and develop and world build and then never write.. like yes i have an incredibly intricate explanation for how this worlds religion works based on how each individual fantasy culture and race i made perceives the afterlife and deities of the world (that i also made up). yes there is deeply ingrained stigma even lasting into present day in my story that still impacts some of the characters more than others. yes it’s also a metaphor for modern day religious fanaticism and the way it others people for no discernible reason. yes there are also unicorn people and phoenix people and basilisk people and werewolves and vampires and necromancers and sirens and hydras and giants of all different varieties and yes i love this story dearly. no i won’t ever write it. why? reasons.

My phone was stolen over a week ago, locking me out of my remote job due to two factor authentication bullshit. Now we are behind on bills, I haven't had toothpaste for a week at least, and we have food sort of but it's mostly random ingredients bc a friend just got us whatever he knew wouldn't kill us with our allergies, with like $50 we have food for the month, with $350 total I might have a chance of affording food, bills, and our prescriptions. But I know there's not going to be any work till Saturday when my new project starts.
I have art for sale on my art blog, and I just posted more today. Dm me there @theartistrans to buy anything there. Examples below. Also dm me for proof or details I really don't mind.

Looking at the characters I got on toyhouse's ownership logs and it's making me so curious and a lil bit emotional... Like damn some of my lil guys were owned by someone else for years before they ended up in my hands, what were they back then? Actual characters? A design in someone's ufo folder? Did they have different names? Different stories? When did their previous owners lose connection? It's strange to think abt how old some of them are too, like Brady's toyhouse page is over 5 years old, like I was like 14 when his page was made how wild is that
