Hot spring worker Hidan and ex-yakuza accountant Kakuzu on vacation. Lots of ghosts (well, just one, but oh man), curses(???), sex, Tokyo life and a demonic God that wants to have a talk. Very dear to my heart. Watching Kakuzu drop his guard down when faced with Hidan’s relentless naivete and determination makes my brain go all mushy.

Literally, anything by this author is top-tier storytelling writing, and you know you are always in for a fun ride!!

If you are looking for something more lighthearted, try ХИДАН ЛАЖАЕТ. It’s a fun story about video game streamer Hidan and his secret admirer, Kakuzu. 

[English] Is it Life or Art? by lilac_bramble  

This story is just so much fun, London socialite/model/”personality” Hidan and investment banker Kakuzu. Truly like peak Kakuhida to me. I really enjoy their relationship here. Their chemistry just works so well. This story is nearly the same word count as Game of Thrones. I am not joking. I am obsessed with authors' in-depth, detailed little tidbits of life in London.

I love stories about characters told by someone completely unrelated, like a view from outside. I think this story does it so well. I loved seeing the tiny glimpses into how other people see them. It’s a short but a very special story. They cannot escape ‘These two really care for each other’ allegations.

It is a truly amazing story from start to finish. I couldn’t stop reading it. Cruel, funny, witty dialogue, violence, great character insight, everything juicy remains in subtext and subtext alone. Lots of fun revelations are left up to the reader's interpretation, which I really enjoyed. Great example of how a sex scene can be used to show more hidden aspects of a relationship and how the two come together. The whole premise is really unusual and refreshing.

The storytelling reminds me of an official Naruto light novel. The same like tempo and the dynamic between them just feels very much like them. The story premise is simple but satisfying. I love it when Hidan is affected by the supernatural.

Zombie AU. Loved, loved, loved the ending. I hate reading zombie AU, where characters survive for a bit too long makes everything drag on and on. This story is perfect. We get them coming in, and then the end feels even more gut-wrenching but also super satisfying. Really well done!

Ultimate comfort story. It’s camp; it’s scary, it’s gory, it’s funny. I just love everything about this story.

Hi, I am DESPERATELY looking for a fic from around fifteen years ago.

It was published on fanfiction dot net back then.

It was a SasoDei fanfiction, set in a modern AU. Deidara was a med student, Sasori was a law student, the two of them ended up sharing a flat because of shenanigans, a key plot point in that AU was that they both went to the same art shop for art supplies to pursue their passion in their downtime.

It was tagged T on ff dot net, I believe? There was no spicy stuff, just lots of fluff, a little angst and a happy ending. The T was for the swearing.

I have been looking for months. This thing got me through dark times as a teenager and I would give SO MUCH to be able to read it again.

What's your total Ao3 word count? 146,694

What fandoms do you write for? Genshin Impact, though I am also beginning to set some ideas aside for Honkai Star Rail, as well.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? I only have one published on AO3 at the moment, so by default it is History, Repeating.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do! It brings me a lot of joy to see new comments on my writing and to get new feedback. The least I can do is thank someone for their compliments or join them in their misery over what stupid thing Character A has just done.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? This one is not published, but my angstiest ending is in a Fallout 4, Paladin Danse/Male Sole Survivor fic. It starts off with the two of them getting into a serious argument, and then ends with one of them suffering near-fatal radiation poisoning.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? For a published fic, this goes to History, Repeating by default. For unpublished fics, it would go to the sequel to my above-mentioned fic. The Sole Survivor... survives... again. (Ehe),

Do you get hate on fic? I was graced with one (1) very nasty and demanding person on History, Repeating early on, and ended up having to turn off anonymous comments because of it. Otherwise, nope!

Do you write smut? Not really, no. I write sexual themes and include sex scenes where they seem meaningful, but writing smut just isn't my cup of tea.

Do you write crossovers? I've not yet, and I usually avoid reading them, too. But I am currently considering a fusion AU for a fic in the future, if that counts.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? To my knowledge, no. The closest I've ever come to stolen writing was when I was in middle school and my friend wanted to write a story similar to mine.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge, no. (Though I am happily open to it, as long as I am asked first)!

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, and no. I've co-written fiction before, but not fanfic.

What's your all time favorite ship? I am a rampant multishipper in this fandom now, but my most comfy ship is Xiao/Aether.

What's a wip you want to finish but probably won't? I have a fic that I began writing a few years ago for the danganronpa fandom. It as a KomaHina fic set post-Danganronpa 3. Its premise turned out to be a bit of a prototype to what History, Repeating became, so chances are that I will never finish it.

What are your writing strengths? The most common compliment I get on my writing is on my visuals and descriptions, so I am inclined to say those are my strengths.

What are your writing weaknesses? I constantly worry about characterization and character motives. The last thing I want is to fall into fanon, rather than keep everyone as close to canon as I can get when it comes to fanfiction.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic? I have done this myself in bits and pieces. To me, it matters about what is being used, how it's being used, and if it is researched properly. Have context in the exposition around it, give translations in the story (in not so many words), have a footnote for readers to reference.

First fandom you wrote for? Naruto! When I was but a wee babe. Followed closely by Death Note. SasoDei and LawLight (at the time we just called it LxLight), were Baby's First Ship.

Favorite fic you've written? Published? History, Repeating. Unpublished? The fic I am currently finishing.

Hey, I am really eager to see what you will be posting for the Sasori week (shipping work or not). I must confess that I am waiting eagerly for the Time / Kazekage (especially the Kazekage part) day. I generally like the Sasori as Kazekage!AU but considering the crumbs you have left in your fic about Sasori and the third Kazekage relationship I'm kinda hoping you might have written something about them... But no matter what you will actually posting I am sure it will be great. Thank you for sharing all your amazing stories with us (and I hope this message wasn't out of line or anything)

Thank you!! I'm very excited about Sasori Week, both for the stuff I'm writing and to see all the things everyone else will be submitting. I really hope the event gets some good participation and attention, and it does seem like that will happen based on the notes and engagement the original post has been getting, so fingers crossed.

I won't be doing any Kazekage AUs this time, but I have one ninjaverse thing and one modern AU thing (that one is SasoDei, not SasoSaku). Here's hoping I can get everything done on time... I will do my best!

i don't think i ever posted this scene on its own, but it's a fun one. i just love how the language play turned out, and i reckon it works without knowing the context. the full fic is here if you want more~

The sun came out that afternoon, making skinny-dipping a much more pleasant experience than it could have been. The pool was at the far end of the quarry where the cliff walls were only five or six meters above the water level—perfect for cliff-jumping—and a screen of scraggly trees that had sprouted along the edge of the water secluded the space from the rest of the quarry. The pool was dangerously deep: far below was a flooded, abandoned mine shaft.

Kisame was swimming laps, cutting through the clear, deep water with long, powerful strokes. He, like Deidara and Juugo, had not stripped completely naked: he still wore a pair of his preferred boxers. Deidara tread water, his teeth chattering. He was already regretting the fact that he’d got his hair wet when he jumped in. Sasori and Sasuke sat up on the bank, fully clothed. Sasuke was staring sullenly off into space, while Sasori was holding up his phone.

With a glance over his shoulder, Sasori called out, laughing: 「カメラの準備が出来ましたよ！」(Kamera no jyunbi ga deki mashita yo!)

“Lookout below!” came Suigetsu’s cry from somewhere above the swimmers.

Deidara looked up just as a fully naked Suigetsu sailed through the air, executed a perfect front somersault and slipped into the water smooth as a fish. He stayed below for an inordinate amount of time, so long Deidara almost forgot about him—until suddenly Deidara was being ducked from behind, mouth full of water, ears full of Suigetsu’s cackling.

「撮りましたか、蠍さん？」(Tori mashita ka, Sasori-san?) Suigetsu called up to Sasori.

Sasori was shaking with laughter and clutching his phone to his chest. He pretended to wipe tears from his eyes. 「はい、はい！」(Hai, hai!)

“Another Japanese bastard, huh?” Deidara growled playfully, chasing after Suigetsu but coming nowhere near catching him. He swam as if water was his natural habitat.

“Hey! Suigetsu!” Deidara called. “Teach me some Japanese, mn.”

Suigetsu slowed and began to swim circles around Deidara.

“Okay,” he grinned. “Repeat after me: 僕 boku—”

“Boku—”

“—の no—”

“—no—”

“—チンチン chin-chin—”

Above them, Sasori choked back laughter.

“—chin-chin—”

“—はwa—”

“—wa—”

“—小さいです chiisai desu。”

“—chisai dess.”

Sasori was laughing so hard he fell over. Even Sasuke was grinning.

“What… what did you just make me say, Suigetsu…” Deidara said with trepidation.

“Say it all together first.” Suigetsu was grinning like a shark.

“Boku no chin-chin wa… chiisai dess,” Deidara repeated quickly. “Now tell me what it means before I figure out a way to drown your slippery ass, mn.”

But Suigetsu just threw his head back, laughed heartily, and dove beneath the water, quickly evading Deidara’s grasping hands.

“Sasori??” Deidara looked to Sasori for help in vain: the red-head was still incapacitated by his laughter.

Trying to speak through tears of mirth, Sasori finally choked out, “It isn’t true,” but that was all he offered as explanation.

As the laughter died down, it was Sasuke with his smug look and folded arms who answered: “It means ‘my dick is small,’ Deidara.”

“WHAT?! Get back here you little eel! Mn!”
