Tweek fell fjrsf but Craig 100% fell harder

When they aren’t having sleepovers tweek uses the fidget spinners that Craig got him to fall asleep <3

something i always appreciated about writing craig as autistic and his relationship with tweek is that tweek is… SO expressive. he feels his emotions very strongly, and bluntly states his mind. he loves to talk about his feelings and cannot save face unless he REALLY has to put on an act.

craig doesn’t need to adhere to social norms OR dig too hard to pick up on social cues when he’s with tweek. he knows exactly how his boyfriend (and even just friend tbh) is feeling basically at all times because tweek is always turned up to 11.

this is the same reason he’s best friends with clyde, but it’s especially apparent with the post-yaoi stuff. yes, tweek benefits from craig providing logic and acting as a voice of reason, but craig benefits too. if he can read tweek (not hard) he can eventually pick up on those emotional cues which will help him read more subtle expressions on others, or even mirror for himself (like in put it down when he added more cadence to his voice, pacing around loudly to match tweek’s level)

When Craig gets overwhelmed, he usually has huge shutdowns. The first time Tweek saw it happen, he didn't get what was going on, Craig wasn't answering him and he was getting more worried every moment. He would get progressively more anxious, not knowing what was wrong with Craig. His questions were however making Craig more overstimulated and frustrated at not finding the words, to the point he eventually started tearing up... Tweek automatically went and comforted him, hugging him and apologizing as Craig quietly sobbed. This lasted for a while, and Craig stayed quiet even after calming down, which Tweek this time respected. At some point, he finally managed to talk to Tweek, first thing he said being a soft "sorry" that sounded more broken than anything. Tweek told him it was ok, and Craig explained how he'd just had a shutdown, explaining what it was about. After this, Tweek slowly learnt how to identify when Craig was getting overwhelmed, and he did his best to help him out every time<3
