You know what my favourite part about the maze runner is. How each individual is portrayed so realistically in how they act and turned out based on their circumstances. As well as how they deal with shit and morals. The Maze Runner series does a beautiful job of showcasing the cruelty that comes from the desperation of humans. We see that the most in Ava Paige and Teresa as well. How even when it seems a little wrong it also feels like the only option available. And you want to save the world, even if it means psychological torment on kids/close friends. Immune kids. The only chance they had for human survival. I love how it really is VERY realistic.

What I'm saying is, if we, in the real world where to be in that exact situation. Well, we'd be absolutely fucked. We would have people, adults who will do the same. If overpopulation were more of a problem, of course we'd try to eradicate the issue through drastic measures. So yes, we might even invent a disease. Of course it wouldn't be the same, but it would still suck. My favourite part about dystopias are how true they are. They are created to make us WAKE THE FUCK UP. And see what we are actually like. What we are capable of doing, if we don't change, or what we can become.

The maze runner, the hunger games, daybreak. This is us. The big difference between them and fantasies like lord of the rings or science fiction like star wars is that this are possible. Key word: POSSIBLE. This things can happen, dystopias just make them more drastic and exaggerated to make it clear. So that we understand. That's why it's such a needed genre. And it's another way to use our minds and voice to spread truth. And a life lesson.

We see cruelty and we see love in TMR. We see desperation and organization. Determination, love, suffering, safety, hope, and relationships. I think that's beautiful. And I love how James Dashner shows us the reality of the dangers of sun rays on earth with a busted ozone and the dangers of human made measures through desperations. And how humans feel the need to fix their fuck ups. Trying so hard to undo their mess by forming a group to try and save everyone. And in the end it failed. Showing us, the worlds unfair. Sometimes you can't save everyone or fully fix and undo your mistakes. But you can learn from them, adapt, and make it somehow better. Like how Ava Paige set them free to the safe haven. Finally.

poor yellow. they used the eyedropper and paintbucket tool to change his color and fool alan. also alan is very agressive because he KNOWS his sticks are somewhere there but he can't get to them! and he KNOWS they're in trouble and the greys are keeping him there! later, he stops attacking because what if it's yellow again or maybe orange? plus he just repeated history... and now yellow is afraid of him... he feels guilty

the original note/idea below:

---Alan is in the box and is very angry/agressive. A grey stick is put inside and alan beats the shit out of them. After the beatdown it is revealed that the grey stick was actually yellow, they just changed his color. After that alan is a lot more careful and doesn't immediately attack. This can be used for manipulation later. Another grey stick is thrown in (actual grey stick) and pretends to be yellow (they can use the memory scanner to be more convincing). Alan believes it and ends up spilling some secrets and protecting that stick thinking it's yellow.

[i don't remember how they would use the scanner. maybe they just use yellow's memories to pretend that the impostor is yellow?]

can’t help but imagine the whole of new york living in fear because bob’s words during the post-credit scene—that he can’t have the sentry without the void—definitely sound like he’s speaking from experience. i.e. at some point post-thunderbolts he tried to use his powers and went void in the end.

now, I’m sure the new avengers solved it quickly! but I’m sure it was also pretty obvious that the void was back. and the post-incident interview probably went something like this:

reporter: wow, we’re all so grateful to the new avengers for saving us from this villain a second time! how did you do it?

new avengers: power of friendship

reporter: I’m sorry?

new avengers: power of friendship

reporter: …hahaha, I’m sure we all understand the necessity of needing to keep trade secrets! but now that you’ve beaten the void again, they won’t be coming back again, right?

new avengers: …

new avengers: no promises

reporter: is the villain dead?

new avengers: no

reporter: but they’re locked up, right?

new avengers: no

reporter: they’re just running around and could attack new york at any time???

SO i just got finished watching AVA in its entirety. general consensus is "holy shit, what am i about to get into". but either way, during the entire thing, i had a "Live Feed" document going, where I wrote down anything that came to my mind about each individual video.
