Blueberry Nice Cream
2-3 servings
To make this nice cream you need a food processor or high-speed blender.  It might take several minutes to turn the frozen bananas and blueberries into the nice cream.  There is no sweetener needed but you can add some if you want.
This Nice Cream can be served as soft serve or put in the freezer to get it firmer.
Ingredients:
3 frozen bananas, cut in coin shapes
½ cup frozen blueberries
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar or stevia (or another sweetener) (optional)
Directions:
Add to the food processor or high-speed blender the bananas, blueberries, vanilla extract, and a sweetener.  Blend.  This should take about 5-10 minutes.  You may need to stop a couple of times to scrape down the sides of the food processor or blender
If you want soft serve nice cream serve immediately.  Otherwise, put the nice cream in a freezer container and put in the freezer for a couple of hours.  You will then be able to scoop out the nice cream into a bowl as it will be firmer.  Take the nice cream out of the freezer for 30 minutes or more before scooping into a bowl.
Note:
Bananas need to be peeled and cut before freezing them as it is not possible to peel or cut them once they are frozen. Sweeten the nice cream to your taste

Sometimes on days when I’m particularly brain foggy, I can’t be bothered to decide on what to eat, or come up with balanced meal choices. Especially at the end of the day, when decision fatigue is at its highest. So I made a Google Sheet that randomly generates meal ideas based on what I usually have in my kitchen. I saved a shortcut to the webpage on my desktop so it’s quick to open. (Here’s a template, which you can edit by saving a copy: tinyurl.com/mealrandomizer) The spreadsheet has two parts: (1) a list of ingredients organized by food group, and (2) magical Excel formulas that pluck one or two ingredients from each food group to give you a “recipe”– which is really just a combo of foods that cover your desired food groups. You can tweak the ingredient list to fit your needs: for example, I’ve set up the recipe to provide two veggie suggestions with every recipe, I haven’t listed olives because I hate them, I can easily make it vegetarian, etc. I’ve generated some laughable suggestions (how about waffles, cucumber, bacon, + peanut sauce….), but because I’m not beholden to a spreadsheet, I just chuckle and click again. I’ve found it a helpful guideline / source for ideas, so thought I’d share <3

listen to me. You’re gonna preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit and you’re gonna melt a stick of putter on the stove in a pan ok? Then you’re gonna add 1 cup sugar and a scoop of brown sugar and melt it then you’re gonna let it cool a bit and pour it into a bowl and crack 2 eggs and add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and you will whisk for 1 minute until combined. Ok? Then you’re gonna take half cup cocoa powder and half cup flour and sift it together along with a teaspoon of salt, 2 tspn cinnamon, and a dash of cayenne pepper and you’re gonna whisk that together. Then you’re gonna take your wet ingredients and fold them into the dry, mixing only until just incorporated and you’re gonna take some chocolate chips ok and fold them gently in as well. And you’re gonna take a 8x8” pan and grease it and pour the mixture in and bake it until the middle doesn’t jiggle about 30-40 minutes ok? Ok

Any wild guess as to why Steven hasn’t had any shows in awhile? I’m assuming he’s just busy working behind the scenes but I miss that silly little food guy.
me too!! i miss him <3
i think he's busy being ceo /hj and working on a new show! he gave worth it a beautiful ending a few months ago, and my guess is he'll make a food show on watcher too. he might be on the new traveling food show (which is currently unnamed, so i want to call it diners drive ins and dives), but i also have 0 clue if he's traveling with the tour crew. i guess we'll find out in a week or two!
tldr: managing watcher is probably a lot of work, he's probably thinkin up and/or making a cool new show that's gonna be awesome, and he might be on the new traveling food show. either way it'll probably be awesome and unexpected as steven always is. :D

Apple Cake
Serves 8
This apple cake is full of apple deliciousness.  Chunks of apple are wrapped in a tender, moist, and buttery batter.
Ingredients:
3 ½ -4 cups of baking apples that are peeled and cut into ½-inch chunks
1 cup all-purpose flour, spooned into the cup
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup (1 stick) of butter, at room temperature
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons apple juice
1 tablespoon of granulated sugar to sprinkle on the top of the cake batter
Confectioners’ sugar to decorate the cake
Directions:
Peel and cut up the apples.  Put them in a bowl of water so they don’t turn brown while you make the cake batter.  Set aside.
Preheat the oven to 350°.  Use a 9-inch cake pan, line the bottom with parchment paper, and spray with non-stick cooking or baking spray.
In a small bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
In a stand mixer or hand-held mixer blend the butter with the sugar until they are light and fluffy.  Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.  Scrap down the sides of the bowl if needed. Add the vanilla and juice.  The batter may look grainy at this point but don’t worry as the flour mixture is coming.  Mix on low until combined.  Then fold in the chopped apples with the spatula
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and distribute it evenly. Sprinkle a tablespoon of granulated sugar onto the top of the cake batter.
Bake the cake for about 40 minutes on the center rack.  It is done when a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.  The cake can then cool on a rack in the pan.  Once it is cool run a knife around the edge of the cake and put it on a serving plate.
Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar with a sieve to decorate the cake.
