Azul Ship Headcanons

So I already made a thread ranking(?? Judging?? I dunno lols) all the Azul ships I care about and so here's a post with headcanons for them and I have important things to do but shhh don't remind me and I won't remind you :)

I dunno all my energy for this ship died but I think it would be fun to write or read or work with because imagine they're both doing it for like appearances or something else of that manner and someone catches feelings or something but also they both think the other one thinks it's real from the beginning ??? So fake dating but extra steps. There's like this one fic that put this into my head but I don't remember the name lols

I really already explained this in the tweet but yeah this is only good when they get together after university (not NRC, but after they graduate and then graduate uni) and then get married and then divorced and then the story is them healing at fifty. Perhaps they become just friends, perhaps Azul learns to leave well enough alone, perhaps Jamil gets mad, perhaps they go their own ways, maybe one of them dies ?? I dunno this would seem fun to play around with :)

The whole thing with the game of life in the comic anthology was pretty funny and I feel like working with a relationship with them would be very silly because it would be like that all the time and also neither of them know how to give or recieve affection properly so lols

Okay so this is really a crackship like she found him not up to standard but imagine if she didn't and also imagine if they got married and imagine if the whole story was just them healing in the afterlife?? That would be pretty cool imo :) So yeah that's it. It's gotta be awful to be seventeen for five hundred years and I'm gonna be honest I don't remember how she died so maybe she could work through that and Azul can work through his self worth issues and body issues, especially that he is now without a proper form. It would be cute, imagine it !

They're t4t lesbians (transfem riddle and transmasc nonbinary azul <3) and also in love and also the healthiest relationship here (shhh these are my headcanons I do what I want they get along beautifully once they get together) and also happy !!! Finally !!! And also they would be fun to work with because academic rivals to lovers is always fun. (I know these images are crispy as hell shhhhhhh don't mention it)

Ranking My Vil Ships

there aren’t really ships that I don’t like but you can probably see which ships that I ship more than the rest. Aka, favoritism lmao.

LeoVil :: I could go on and on about this ship forever but the gist of why it’s my favorite ship is that it has all my favorite stuff in it like enemies-to-lovers, contrasting color schemes, character I project myself onto (Leona) x my type (Vil), and how they’re so similar yet complete opposites in personality.

JackVil :: Honestly I wasn’t into childhood friends-to-lovers tropes before because it usually didn’t mean much besides “oh these two are extra close from the start” but Jack and Vil’s relationship feels rather special and sweet. Like, Vil said that he was prejudiced against for being a performer/celebrity but Jack ignored that and sought him out. Vil would’ve been all alone, but Jack didn’t let him. Jack was his only friend. Also I absolutely adore every childhood friends art of these two. They’re so wholesome and cute and always brighten my day immediately. Also— Beauty and the Beast.

MalVil :: My reason for loving this ship isn’t as deep as the other two which is why it’s a rank lower. I thought it was sweet that Vil listened to Malleus’ hour long lecture about dragons while being busy with being a model, actor, dorm leader and also chairman of the Halloween comittee. He’s also one of the people who can talk to Malleus normally so they seem to be on good terms with each other and see each other as equals even? The villains they’re based on are Maleficent and the Evil Queen, both have sleeping curses put on their enemies and have a corvid as a pet/sidekick, so they’re sort of similar. So it feels fitting to kinda ship them together. It’s also nice that Vil is usually the first to notice that Malleus wasn’t invited.

RookVil :: They’re great and I love them. Vil trusts Rook a lot and Rook cares very much for Vil. But they’re sort of too popular for me? Like, they’re the ship always being talked about when it comes to Vil so I’m not really into it. It doesn’t feel like I can contribute much to the discussion. I also don’t particularly find it as interesting as the ones above because this ship feels like the “obvious” choice when it comes to Vil ships.

TreyVil :: I just found Vil’s interaction with Trey really cute in his Lab Coat story and it’s really nice to see him lift Trey’s self esteem up like that. Unfortunately I think they only interacted omce so that’s why they rank here. It’d be great if they interacted more.

CaterVil :: Cater literally said he wanted to date Vil and Vil said he’d consider it but he’d have to use up a lot of money. Vil also complimented Cater during the Halloween event. These two are also sort of lowkey based on Disney princesses or have similarities to them. Cater has two sisters that boss him around like Cinderella. Vil is an outcast beauty from his neighborhood who values intelligence like Belle. The only reason they’re ranked lower is because I haven’t seen many interactions between them but I do love the idea of the ship.

VilIdia :: I’ve seen them interact once or twice and they have potential for a great ship. They’re complete opposites and I like that sort of trope in ships. I’m sort of waiting for Ignihyde’s chapter before giving a stronger opinion of the ship but for now, it’s aight.

AzuVil :: This is more of “I like the idea of them” because I think of Vil finding out about how Azul got bullied for the way he looks and teaching him body positivity and it makes me feel nice. I also thought Azul’s simping for Vil at the beginning of chapter 5 was hilarious. They both care very much for professionality and their business so they’d probably understand each other. This feels like a simp x tsundere dynamic.

JamVil :: The way Vil complimented Jamil in the Fairy Gala was really nice and honestly that was enough reason for me to ship them to a slight degree. Jamil seems to hold a respect for Vil as well and values his opinion.

"Not exactly the methods you would use, no?"

Vil's laugh was a low purr, "Last name basis again, Ashengrotto? Two can play that game."

He did not miss the subtle challenging look on his lover's face, but like hell he was going to fall into that trap again like the previous other times. Consider it unfair for him that it always worked under Vil's advantage and never his despite how many times he tried to resist it. "Not this time, Vil."

"Caved in already... you disappoint me."

"I'm only letting you win this time because I am feeling quite generous."
