Expecting Miracles
As the full moon bathed the streets of New Orleans in its ethereal glow, Klaus, paced anxiously in his opulent mansion. His mind was consumed with worry and anticipation as he awaited the return of his beloved, y/n, who was carrying their child.
Klaus had always been a complicated man, burdened by his past and the weight of his family's legacy. But the prospect of becoming a father awakened a softer side of him, a desire to protect and cherish his growing family.
Finally, the front door swung open, and there she was, a radiant glow enveloping her, accentuated by her blossoming belly. Klaus's eyes widened with awe and adoration as he rushed to her side, gently placing his hand on her abdomen to feel the life within.
"My love," Klaus murmured, his voice filled with tenderness and reverence. "You're carrying our child, a miracle born from our love."
Y/n smiled, her eyes sparkling with joy. "Yes, Klaus. Our love created something beautiful."
From that moment on, Klaus vowed to be the best partner and father he could be. He showered y/n with affection, ensuring her every need was met during her pregnancy. He learned about prenatal care, attended doctor's appointments, and even transformed a room in their mansion into a cozy nursery.
Klaus would often place his hand on y/n's belly, feeling the gentle kicks and movements of their unborn child. He would whisper words of love and encouragement, promising to protect and guide their little one through the challenges of life.
As the due date approached, Klaus's anxiety heightened. He wanted everything to be perfect for y/n and their child. On the day of the birth, Klaus stood by y/n's side, holding her hand and offering words of comfort.
With every push and every breath, y/n brought new life into the world. And when the cries of their newborn baby girl filled the room, Klaus felt tears welling in his eyes. He witnessed a miracle, a tangible symbol of the love he and the reader shared.
In that moment, Klaus knew he had been blessed with a new purpose. He would protect his family at all costs, ensure their happiness, and strive to be the father he had always longed to have.
As Klaus held their newborn Daughter Hope in his arms, he whispered a promise. "I will love and protect you always, my little one. You are the greatest gift life has given me."
And so, the Mikaelson family grew, with Klaus, y/n, and Hope at the center.

Soulmarks Part 3
Part 1
Part 2
------
“Now are you going to stay put for me to get dressed or do i stay sitting on you?“ Jackson asked once he was sure he had removed all the make up from the marks, leaving them clear to all.
He had to ask to distract himself otherwise he would just stare, they surrounded the other mans's neck completely, from where his hairline met his spine to the hollow of his throat, like a necklace or collar, black cursive lettering stark on soft lighter skin.
Jackson Kenner
Andréa Labonair
The Rs at the end of each of their surnames kissed at the top where the letters met like a mirror.
“I don’t know what you expect from me, I’m not sure I could stand currently.” Came the quiet reply.
Jackson frowned, that wasn’t normal.
“The touch of a mate is only meant to calm, it’s meant as a protection for a human mate.” He explained lowly as he slowly climbed off the vampire still expecting a trap, for the other to vanish.
Instead he stayed flat on the floor, fancy expensive suit soaking up the dust, grime and dirt.
Jackson ignored the very loud voice that suggested returning to his place, stripping the vampire and using the chance to properly mark him, and turned to his clothes.
He has always wanted to sink his teeth into Elijah Mikaelson, he thought as he pulled out the pants from the pile, at first he thought it was a side effect of years trapped as a wolf, then he thought it was Hayley’s attention on the blood sucker.
No, apparently it was that the bloodsucker was his too.
He heard movement as he was throwing a shirt on and twisted expecting to see Mikaelson fleeing, instead he watched as he sat up and slowly pulled his knees towards him, mikae- might as well used his name now Jackson thought as he watched Elijah frown looking at his own hand that was trembling.
Elijah noticed his staring.
“What exactly is this?” he asked as he placed the hand on his knees.
“It is common for us, the touch of a mate calms the beast to protect a human mate early in a relationship. Never heard of anyone reacting to it like that.”
“My kind was made to kill yours, father made sure of it,” Elijah explained as he seemed to think on it, shrugging “so the touch does as it’s meant to. To protect the weaker mate- mates.”
Jackson was starting to see this situation, whether being discovered at all or having his control taken somewhat away had shaken Elijah, so he ignored what may have been a subtle threat or just a reminder that he wasn’t a toy.
While Jackson was very sure of that, he was mate, the other half of him had other ideas- he set shifted his jaw as he remembered the slight issue with them, while Elijah wasn’t going to die, they would need to be careful in the future since he would still be affected unpleasantly by their venom.
“Are you saying you didn’t throw me off earlier because you couldn’t?” he asked. Jackson didn’t like the thought of that at all, the touch was never meant to be able to be used against someone.
“I could have asked you to get off.” Elijah reminded but it didn’t seem as confident as he normally was with his words.
“Why didn’t you?” he asked to ignore his own concerns on whether he would have listened, the instincts were strong on a full moon and during the curse, constant, he had his mate who was hiding from him under him, it was hard to think beyond that until Hayley had spoken.
“You were distracting.” Elijah told him shortly.
They were quiet for a moment after that as Jackson buttoned up his shirt.
They were interrupted by the door of the cabin open, Elijah twisted his head around to watch as Hayley and Hope exited, giving Jackson a clear view of his wife’s birth name on his neck.
Hayley smiled at them brightly when she came towards them talking to Hope as she did.
Elijah turned back to look at him, likely to ask why he had asked Hayley to bring Hope with her.
“We’re going to all talk on this, I’m not going to take from her the one night she gets with her little girl, but I’m not hiding this either, you’re as much hers as mine and she’s had her eyes in you longer.” He explained before the other could speak, it was much easier to deal with the fact his wife-mate was in love with someone else, when that person was also his.
Elijah stared at him, which had the added bonus as Hayley approached them of leaving the other side of his neck to her, leaving his name clear to her.
Jackson watched as confusion appeared on Hayley’s face as she noticed the dark lettering he had never appeared to have before, while watching he noticed the exact moment she recognized what the letters spelt.
Hayley vanished in a burst of speed reappearing kneeling at Elijah’s side.
Jackson smirked as Elijah froze, unsure if it was due to Hope’s bright shout of excitement suddenly being closer or the brush of Hayley’s fingers over his neck.
“Wha-how?” she asked looking to him.
“Much better clean.” He told her as he held up the now flesh-colored stained cloth, wolf saliva did make it easier, which explained his faint but recent memory of feeling a pulse beat under his tongue.
He’d be embarrassed but there was no point as he’d likely do something similar when the curse returned.
“This side is just as good to look at.” He told her, not surprised at all as she moved to lightly grip Elijah’s chin and turn his face.
There was a microsecond of confusion before an awed smile took its place as she let go of his chin to trace the mark.
Jackson smirked and faltered as Elijah sank into her touch, almost swaying, barely keeping himself upright, he had thought maybe the strength of the effect was because the contact had started while he was in his other form but that couldn’t be it now.
“Still?” he asked, deciding give up fighting against the pull and join them sitting the other side of Elijah. Well aware they are penning him in but that at least it shut up the howling want from his instincts to grasp hold of him and never let go until Elijah understood he belonged to them with them.
Hayley looked confused at him, apparently not noticing the change in Elijah but that may also be because she was still stroking her fingers across the mark without thought.
“It’s a distracting feeling.” Elijah bit out, which may have carried more weight if he hadn’t signed heavily afterwards.
Hayley finally seemed to realise as she stopped, pulling her hand away and moving back only to stop as she accidentally dragged Elijah with her.
Hope giggled as she used her uncle’s tie to pull him, Jackson suddenly remembered pulling the thing free to loosen his collar to reach all the marks during his cleaning.
“Hope, Honey, can you give Uncle Elijah his tie back?” Hayley tried but Hope’s hand on Elijah’s tie didn’t release.
Elijah sighed, smiling at the little girl and loosening the fabric to give to her.
Hope shrieked with joy as she started to wave her prize like a ribbon.
Hayley smiled at her daughter hugging her closer before she returned to look at the both of them seriously, Jackson was pleased it was mostly aimed at the vampire.
“You’ve been hiding this.” She accused him, “since we met.”
“No, they didn’t appear until after Celeste-” he explained leaving it unfinished.
Jackson wasn’t as knowledgeable about their mate as Hayley but he knew the basics that the witch that had cursed them the first time and gone after the Mikaelsons when they returned was once Elijah’s soulmate and he had killed her.
He would be more concerned about his mate having a history of killing his soulmate but the woman had cursed his pack and was basically targeting Elijah’s it made sense, he was far more concerned and angered that she had managed to keep her mark on him after she died the first time.
He felt a flicker of rage at the idea that the witch was claiming his mate when they had already gained Elijah's strange mark. The yellow in Hayley’s eyes reflected that she felt the same.
Elijah looked between them with concern, Hope didn’t but then the little girl was three quarters wolf.
He suddenly felt a little sorry for the vampire, this would likely be far easier to deal with if two parts of the conversation weren’t struggling with increased instincts but only a little as if he had been honest from the beginning then he wouldn’t be dealing with half the problems of this, besides it was his brother’s fault.
Jackson suddenly held back the urge to groan, it was bad enough having to deal with Klaus Mikaelson because for Hayley and Hope, the current curse proof they couldn’t escape him but Jackson had a feeling dealing with him to share his brother was going to be worse.
He had always thought the hybrid's aggressive possessiveness and control issues came from a wolf kid being raised outside the pack; it would make sense for him to attach strongly to his family, made worse after being made into a vampire and only having two constants for so long.
If Jackson only had two pack members, who didn't understand, for a thousand year be might be a little mad.
He was going to have to give up and accept he was tied to the Mikaelsons, he might as well had married two of them.
