Sensory issues nation: anyone else kind of dislike the texture of skin?

My hands are used to it, but with most other parts of my body, skin-to-skin contact (even with my own skin) is kind of blegh. I don't sit in certain positions when wearing shorts because my leg touching my other leg annoys me.

It's honestly funny, because that's the texture of me - and I don't like it!

one thing i have noticed with adhd is my hella weird sensory issues that are just. highly specific.

one thing is that my parents own glasses and coasters that, when the glass moves on the coaster, it makes a sound only i can hear but it is the Worst Sound. Close second is styrofoam, styrofoam on basically any other material, but especially styrofoam on styrofoam. ugghh makes my whole body tense up.

the other day i scraped over some Bad Plastic with my fingernail, it didn't even really make a sound but it just felt so horrible, it took me over a minute to recover.

My parents also own some coffee mugs with print on them, but not glossy print, washed out, rough print. I cannot use them, because they feel so Wrong in my hands.

my bathroom and toilet room have tiles, with a similar texture. i hate walking or standing there without socks. i mean i can tolerate it for a quick pee, but it is Very Uncomfortable.

Point is, what makes a brain do that?? My family don't have issues with the mugs, I don't think that ever even crossed their minds. What makes a brain just go like. "Hm. don't like how this feels. Burn down the house" when I walk into the bathroom in the morning, before i put on socks???? over freaking TILES that just.. feel wrong some how?????

so you know Altoid mints, right? I bought one of the “mini” tins and absolutely loved it. But I mainly got the mints bc I really liked Altoid tins and wanted some.

naturally, now having a mini tin, I’d want the normal-sized Altoids, right? So I go and buy regular old Altoids.

I get the tin, am super hyped, and then I eat one of the mints (bc I wasn’t gonna waste them obvi) and it was HORRIBLE.

first of all, the mint flavor wasn’t as strong. And second, the mints were weirdly powdery and had a texture almost equivalent to sand.

THE AUTISM DID NOT LIKE THE SAND TEXTURE.

the normal mints were terrible. Hated them. But now I have a whole tin and idk what to do with the mints bc I don’t ever plan on eating them.

Wish food products were forced to mark their products for bad textures the same way they have to with allergens. I want to know if the yoghurt has chunks before I buy it. Me like fruit flavour, but not big ass chunk of actual fruit. Oh yeah that ice cream is passionfruit flavoured, DOES IT HAVE SEEDS? WHY EVEN DO THAT? Nurnurnur it's real passionfruit FUCK OFF WITH YOUR UNNECESSARY SEEDS. Oh this product looks interesting NO WAIT WE ADDED FUCKING CHIA SEEDS FOR NO REASON BECAUSE FUCK YOU. Strawberry Jam? We used real strawberries :) okay did you get rid of the seeds first? Bro? Why is there crunchy in my jam.
