Chicken Bok Choy Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 clove garlic, minced

1 pound bok choy, trimmed and thinly sliced

8 ounces mushrooms, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 small onion, thinly sliced

1 carrot, julienned

1 cup frozen peas

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions:

Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the oil and swirl to coat the pan.

Add the chicken and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until it is no longer pink.

Add the garlic, bok choy, mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and carrot and stir-fry for an additional 2 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

Add the peas and stir-fry for an additional minute.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce and cornstarch. Pour the mixture into the wok and stir to coat the chicken and vegetables.

Continue to stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.

Serve the stir-fry over rice or noodles, if desired. Enjoy!

Generals Cake the Megapon and Reyne the Megaton battled at Mt. Bakchoi Fort, and they each led a unit of their own. The battle was conclusive, Patapons won again, and so the remaining Zigoton retreated. Reyne had sustained heavy injuries.

Reyne retreated (crawled, really) to Patata Plain, dangerously close to Patapon territory. But she had no other choice. Out in the field was a resting Cake, looking up at the setting sun. Not wishing to battle in such a state, Reyne tries to go back from where she came; but only managed to alert the Patapon general.

"What are you doing here?" Cake approached carefully. Until she noticed Reyne was bleeding profusely. Reyne felt the need to somehow get the first strike in, but found herself being healed by the opposing tribe member instead.

"Huh??" Reyne asked, wary.

"We're on hunting grounds, therefore we cannot fight. These are sacred lands after all!" Cake proclaimed.

Reyne hated the idea of a filthy Patapon helping her, but she rather this than die helpless in enemy territory. That would be no way to go if you're a warrior! "Thanks." She muttered.

"There, all patched up!" Cake smiles at the Zigoton. "You must go, my tribesmen may not show you the same mercy," she helps Reyne up.

"My name is Cake. I'll see you on the battlefield again--" she pauses, urging the other to state her name. "Reyne." she replies.

"I'll see you on the battlefield again, Reyne!" she bids the injured Zigoton adieu.

She gets back to her camp, and was looked after by the tribe. But somehow, she could not stop thinking about the Patapon she met. What an oddball, Reyne thought. She scoffs at the idea that there should be no blood spilled on hunting grounds, when every day their lives are a battle against each other. But it did intrigue her... Perhaps this Cake was just traditional or superstitious like the elders. Whichever way it goes, she desired something... More, one might say.

Reyne finds herself planning another visit to Patata Plain in the next few days.
