We are all in this together and we have more support than you know. Check this out from today in London:

Theresa's a pretty well known trans woman around here. But when I arrived, the protest was already in all the roads. Busses couldn't go anywhere. The police were trying to kettle but they couldn't do it. In the end, we had to start marching. Legal observers were everywhere, and I watched two chase some CSPOs carrying a camera to intercept. (Big up to legal observers, it's a voluntary role taken to by solicitors, lawyers and barristers, and they are legends.) Trans people and their allies ground the capital city of the UK to a halt.

The media will blackout and minimise today as much as possible. But if you're ever feeling like the LGBT community has no support, I urge you to go to a protest.

I'm reminded of what historian Dominic Sandbrook said if the so-called 1960s sexual revolution in the UK, that it was "in the newspapers not people's bedrooms". That most people remained sexually and socially conservative despite what 60s and 70s media would have you believe. Evidenced in 1983 when a poll reported only 17% of people saw homosexual relationships as acceptable despite it being decriminalised in 1967 (as a product of the belief the state had no right to interfere in people's private lives, not an increase of social acceptance).

But anyway! My point is: the media crafts the narrative it wants in order to sell. It fucking lies about what is really happening and it always has. UK media would have you believe we are "TERF Island", which, ok, we have JKKK Rowling and Maya Forstater (barf), et al, but the British people? Not lost yet.

I never expected to get to thirty. The LGBT community helped me make it, so every year after I owe to them. I may not have all the right phrases, words, attitudes, whatever, but I will throw down in an instant for the community. No quarter. We got this.

I love how selfish spike is. his love isn't "unselfish" it's SO selfish

when he tries to be good it is always for an ulterior purpose. even if that purpose may not be evil, it's certainly not unselfish. you think he'd give a shit about dawn if she wasn't buffy's entire world? do you lot remember how quickly he dropped her when buffy started fucking him? even if we want to talk about the beginning of s6 that was out of guilt and obligation. and I'm not saying he didn't care about anyone else there because he definitely did, but he wouldn't have been there if not FOR buffy

he enjoys buffy happy because he does love her, yes, and her joy is a beautiful to him. but he likes her upset just as well too. he revels in buffy's suffering. he likes her hurt and he likes that she hurts him and he likes to hurt her. it's a language he understands, that he enjoys. he just likes her in whatever way will make her pay attention to him longer

I'll freely admit that he's emotionally supportive for her, which is something she needs desperately. but a lot of the times that's just when he himself isn't being someone who's actively deciding to tear her down. either way, as long as he's affecting her on some tangible level that makes him feel like he matters to her, he doesn't particularly care if it's for the better or the worse

I've just seen a lot of people call him unselfish and I don't agree. at all. probably ever. I don't know if this is a common fandom idea or if I've done that thing again where I've stumbled across a minority that I can't escape, but. just putting my opinion on it out there I suppose

you know what's really funny just yesterday my contemporary history course went over the elections that brought the rise of nazism in germany and the march on Rome and violence that lead to fascism in italy. I'm really enjoying the historian experience of feeling like Cassandra from The Iliad

I'm still so amazed at how far medicine has come for trans people... being able to take hormones and get surgeries that are life-saving and life-affirming are genuinely such amazing feats and I wish more people understood that. Like, even if those aspects of transition do not appeal to every trans person, it is still so important to recognize just how important it is that trans people have options.

hey guys did rhysand own slaves. don’t be angry this is a serious question. like i know the inner circle/Night Court was on the mortal side of the war but what exactly was going on in the 28ish years beforehand. because the books as far as i remember seems to imply that fae owning humans was pretty ubiquitous across all of prythian, but Night joining the mortals seems to indicate they were anti slavery, so does this mean they freed their slaves previously or only freed them once the war broke out in solidarity? I don’t have definite answers but will say that Rhysand’s weird centrist approach to the human fae conflict doesn’t give me a good feeling.

There's a lot of things I really like about Indigo Park and one of them is that it makes complete and full sense that Rambley asks YOU to do the puzzles

Despite being sentient and having access to most mechanical things in the park, he's still confined to a screen all of the time, so he can't physically help you Normally in mascot horror games (Even Poppy playtime to some extent) the character doesn't move an inch to help you with puzzles and asks you to handle everything while they stay in their place in idle, while Rambley directly needs your help

I also like how he isn't forcing you to stay at the park, he asks if you want to help to restore the park and it's clear that the MC was willing to stay which is GREAT to justify why they don't just leave for an emergency exit or jumping the fence and empathizing with Rambley more

There's also the fact that we aren't just a plain MC, we know they like to explore abandoned places (which justifies them going to Indigo Park more than the actual Poppy playtime did imo), we know not only their favorite character but also their mother's, and Rambley isn't the only one commenting about the collectables, there's dialogue of us too

And my favorite, the place being big is justified, this is a disneyland-like park, so it doesn't feel out of place or weird

The critter cuff is okay, it's the mechanic that makes the most sense out of every game (I'm yet to find how Poppy's hands could be used in real life, fun mechanic, but it ruins the immersion for ME), It's reasonable, it's like a pass for the whole day and that's cool

Indigo Park is doing a great job in fixing these common problems in mascot horror, the atmosphere is dark and mysterious, Rambley has humor and we trust him but we also get to see a more "human" side of him the more he realizes the park has been abandoned for a very long time

If there's some stuff I didn't like about the game would be the way the mascots move when chasing you and the textures not loading well for the first rooms (Tho I'm guessing this will soon get corrected)

I miss the HTTYD 2-era. I miss when it was a franchise celebrated in the same vein as say Star Wars. Now everywhere I look (mainly on Tumblr), all I see are dragon artists and furries being salty about the third movie. Remember back when the fandom on here hated RTTE and then as soon as the third movie came out, suddenly they act like they've always liked the show and that it's the peak of the franchise? Lol.

Apparently something dangerous to do is to like a reel on Instagram that's a funny Christian thing. Like a meme about a Biblical story or whatever. Because then you start getting lots of Christian reels. And while many are great and funny, inevitably you will somehow get a reel saying that women shouldn't wear pants and that Harry Potter is demonic or bashing one Christian denomination (at the moment all the reels are bashing Catholics and saying they aren't Christian...which honestly is a WILD take for anyone that knows remotely anything about Christian history. I'm not even Catholic but I find that take wild and I hate needless bashing over different beliefs). But it means that you block a lot of that flavor of Christians because no matter what Insta will send them to you. Insta thrives on views and comments and shares so controversial reels tend to do well and get put on the feed to cause a stir. Thankfully I know how to block people :).

I feel like the folks who are like 'yeah but queer has been an actual slur whereas gay and homosexual have not' should maybe learn some queer history.

They were both considered such slurs for such a long time that university papers couldn't use them, because they were too derogatory. They had to say 'men who have sex with other men' because gay and homosexual were too derogatory, too much of a *clears throat* slur if you will, to put them in academic papers as anything other than hate speech.

I beg. Please learn some queer history. No word for us has ever not been a slur against us. We reclaim. We move on.
