It's a ramble, fair warning

I love the concept of an eventual Ghost King Danny, simply because there are so many questions you can ask for the whys of it and then build up endless answers in a cosy lil sandbox. I love the themes of Space and becoming an Ancient that many folks tie into Danny as well. It's just fun! I'm a real sucker for space aesthetics.

The first obvious question is why does the Infinite Realms have a King? Why does it need one?

I like to dabble in the concept that the state of the Infinite Realms just about runs its own sentience. It's so big and so expansive and so vital to everything it touches that it very well behaves as a being in its own right. And the reasons to have a king is actually to let something as far reaching as the Realms have any ability to focus whatsoever.

(Also the Infinite Realms is the place of everything inbetween. I'd refer to the Ghost Zone as being a territory within that space!)

If you embrace the concept of ghost cores, you could expand on this further. The structure of a Realms Being could be a reflection of the Realm itself – if they function by having a core, it's because they are following the design of the Infinite Realms in the first place (meaning: the Infinite Realms has its own core)

Take a core as being the center of a ghost's everything. Its thought, form, emotion, memory, everything that makes them functional. It lets them exist and it focuses all that energy into something comprehensible. A core is a ghost's stability.

Then give the Infinite Realms the concept of a core – something that provides it a point of focus that lends stability and structure to itself. It lets it tick along without a rampant kind of chaos to its energy that would see realms torn apart as fast as they are made. Having a core to the Infinite Realms provides a coherent consistency. (And thus the ability to reside in it with relative safety)

So here, the title of King could actually be assigning oneself as the Infinite Realms' functioning core. But that's a big ask, taking on something of that much energy and being something like a conduit. Infinitely huge, even. Takes a lot of willpower and strength to maintain without fracturing oneself in the process.

And that could lead us to why ancient artifacts such as the Crown of Fire and Ring of Rage exist in the first place. Why would something like that be made, or need to exist at all?

The Crown and Ring are a combo deal – its only together that they expound one's power 'infinitely'. That's a pretty intense thing to make for the hell of it. But if the reason was because a king needs to be able to cope with the demand of their role, to actually stand up to the task long term and provide that existence-maintaining stability for all, then maybe that was worth the risk to create them.

I like the idea that Danny isn't someone who wanted to have the Ring and Crown, ever. Nor the Ghost King title tbh. I also like the idea that he's already an insanely willful and powerful ghost in his own right by the time this entire concept becomes a tangible issue – enough so that when the Realms began to really need a replacement actually after Pariah Dark, and the purpose of the role is actually made clear to him, and that not just anyone can withstand it frankly, Danny did stubbornly uphold the title without the Crown and Ring for a time! An unintentional display to the public of just how insanely beefy he is by ghost standards (of which perhaps he wasn't actually aware of that doing. He took the title bc someone had to and just… got mad amounts of respect about it??? Crazy).

But even he has his limits, and though exceptional, eventually has to cede to accepting the Crown and Ring if only so he doesn't shred himself completely and fuck up a lot of people in the process. Bc that's a yikes on so many accounts.

Obviously, the entire inner workings of the role is not widely known. There's so much room for the ideas to be skewed and mistranslated and understood in very different ways that you get a thousand different interpretations and every one is just slightly wrong. But you kind of want it that way. Don't think too hard about the inner workings of the universes. It's not good for your health.

If you cry about it he does his absolute best to comfort you before contacting his agent to see what he can do

Honestly He's use to it but if you're not used to the fame, he's careful so your anxiety don't go crazy

He's sad if that change your life a lot but he does his best to not change a thing in your routine

The good point is that, like Kaiser, he can pray a lot more with you than before and he's really happy about it !!

He acts cool in front of the camera but he's annoyed

It was early in your relationship and he's scared it's gonna fucked it up

You have to be the one comforting him

You're not the type to make promises if you're not sure of yourself, but you assure him that the press and people finding out didn't scared you

You'll stay with him as long as possible, you don't see yourself leaving because of this

He's probably needed this more than he would've admit cause after this, being on camera is easier again

🦇 is native american/has native heritage, (lots of my cousins/aunts and uncles my mum’s side of the family are cherokee (a generation up from me i think?) and when i read the books when i was younger she would always headcanon anton as native, so that’s always stuck with me). p.s. my fancast for him (pictured above) is eddie spears.

🦇 is autistic! i always see this one as quite widespread, and it’s completely canon to me. i think he specifically has problems with certain sounds/levels of noise so i hc that the midnight hotel™️ is a top donor to loop earplugs.

🦇 has a bunch of sisters, think one doesn't have particular root in anything i just get ‘large family of sisters’ vibe from him. and in that vein, in my modern au he has two mums <3 so i think he’s always had quite a strong feminine influence, which in turn provides him lots of security in his masculinity.

🦇 canon specific: goes full loras tyrell about larrikin’s death. i’m a big shudderkin shipper here and i think larrikin’s death would’ve completely broke anton. and whilst i liked him leaving the midnight hotel to his (ex?)boyfriend after his death as a plot device to confirm his queerness, i honestly don’t think he would’ve had any serious relationships after larrikin. which is totally not what larrikin would’ve wanted but hey ho.

🦇 big music nerd. has a whole record library in the hotel and can tell you the artist, release date, producers, influences and interpolation of most songs in the last few centuries. he specifically likes classical songs that are minimum 10 minutes long, ballad americana (lana del rey, ethel cain, etc), and 80s folk.

🦇 the most mental health aware of the dead men, which i partially think is why he is removed from their shenanigans often as he recognises the negative effect they can have on eachother. i think having the gist gave him cause to learn a lot about compartmentalisation and how we process trauma, and i think he would have set up (or at least wanted to set up) some sort of free-of-charge counselling service at the hotel, and would've let the hotel's space be used for things like veteran's support groups or AA.

🦇 closest friends with saracen out of all of the dead men, and (depending on which au) they've known eachother since they were very young/since when saracen was very young (in canon i think anton is one of the eldest of the dead men, the actual eldest i think being hopeless). they at least grew up in the same village (BIG UP CORMACKSTOWN, COUNTY TIPPERARY!!! which i think is where the two of them are from if that wasn't clear).

Hot Relatable bcs omg. Blair looks tough already, like obviously when you look at her, you can tell she can hit a bludger pretty hard. But when you see her do it in the middle of the game where tension is high good merlin. Ana swears she feels faint when watching Blair play. It's also another reason why she's opted to do homework outside while Blair practices. (she gets a glimpse of Blair's abs when she lifts her shirt up to wipe her brow and she is GONE.) Watch her play is just so captivating and attractive. Outside of just going to support her girlfriend, that is another reason why Ana never misses a game of hers.😂

Screaming. Ana is a relatively quiet person and she's calm as well. It took her a few games after starting her relationship with Blair to really get into quidditch (she hardly attended games even for Ravenclaw before dating Blair) but now she's not only one of the most invested but she's also one of the loudest. Sweet Anastasia Carrington who was once the quietest girl in class is now screaming at her girlfriend to hit the bludger directly in the path of another student. (im dying lmfao) Merlin forbid Gryffindor and Ravenclaw be playing against each other because Ana loves her girlfriend more than she'll ever love her house. She'll be sat up in the Ravenclaw pitch cheering on Gryffindor while all the other Ravenclaw's glare at her. (For this reason, they allow her to sit with Gryffindor during games lol.)

Lots and lots of praise and cuddles afterwards. Blair loves affection, probably too much tbh she's lowkey clingy but we love that. After games, if Gryffindor has won, Ana runs onto the field screaming and running to her girlfriend to congratulate her on the win. Blair can hug her, no mind the sweat, she's got at least fifteen of the same uniform tucked away in her trunk. After Blair is all washed up, they go to Blair's dorm room and cuddle for a while and Ana will just listen as Blair talks about the game, even if she was there to see it herself. If Gryffindor happens to lose, Ana is a little bit slower onto the field just to give Blair some space for a second. Blair is a diehard quidditch player and when they lose, she feels like its her fault. Hugs are exchanged and Ana will tell Blair she did an awesome job even if they lost. Blair gets cleaned up and they go up to the dorm room to cuddle but no words about quidditch are spoken unless Blair really has something she needs to get out.

There's a fourth interesting one that you have to account for whenever Gryffindor and Slytherin play against each other. Imelda, Blair's sister, plays quidditch too, well all know this. And Ana loves Imelda but obviously, Blair comes first. BUT because Ana is dating Blair and is a diehard rooter for Gryffindor she's also subjected to Imelda's pre-game trash talk or trash talk if she wins. And this is where another side of Ana comes out that not even Blair knew existed lol. Ana is a trash talker if prompted. Now, she'll do it with only a select group of people around, she has an image to upkeep obviously, but boy her mouth can run. Imelda picked at her a little bit too much one time and Ana let the colors just run themselves. She said words that made even Blair blush a little. Imelda quickly learned just how serious Ana was about her girlfriends quidditch games LMFAO. Truth be told, this just made Imelda want to make Ana do it again but she also just keeps it to a healthy amount of trash talk most games. 😂 But yeah, Ana's changed a little since dating Blair.😂

So pretty much, 10/10 experience (i want them so bad its not even funny)

FitzSimmons. If you don't have this as your top, I DON'T TRUST YOU. They are the blueprint, the very epitome of romance. If someone doesn't dive through a space rock to reach me on another planet, I don't want them

Dousy. Ik some people much prefer Sousa and Peggy, and they have a great relationship, but I don't know, I just like Dousy more. Maybe bc I want Daisy to be in a healthy relationship for once? But for only appearing in around half the episodes of s7, they don't feel rushed, and Chloe and Enver have great chemistry. They're so sweet together, I can't say much else other than I love them

Skimmons. Okay okay ik what a lot of people are gonna say, but I just think they're wonderful together. I've drifted a bit from shipping this, I do see the sisters aspect of them (I don't see them as sisters and romantically at the same time, that is WEIRD), but I still have a small soft spot for it. I think it's mostly Chloe and Elizabeth's love for the ship that sells it

Philinda. Tbh this and Skimmons could be switched, they're very close in my brain. While I don't necessarily feel too bad about them splitting up in s7, I like both the platonic and romantic versions of them, I think they were really great. They so obviously love each other, and what more can I say to that?

Huntingbird. 100% compatible 50% of the time, as Hunter puts it. I don't believe this to be the healthiest of AoS relationships, but not everything has to be perfect all the time. One moment they could be making jabs at one another, the next they're making out. Who knows? Their moments are a fun time either way

MackElena. I think what this ship needs is more time. Compared to the other relationships, MackElena doesn't get to share the screen all that much. I do love how they learn from one another, and they've always given me a kind of comforting type of vibe. They're just cute together

Simmorse. This feels like a relatively newer ship in the fandom, and I am all for it. I don't ship it massively, but I 100% see the potential, I think it's very easy to see that Jemma was crushing on Bobbi a couple times

QuakeRider. Just like Simmorse, I do see it, but I've never really been a big fan of it. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it has great vibes, I love the rogue x rogue type ship, I just don't ship it that much. I personally see them closer to older brother, younger sister type of dynamic. But I do see the potential

Staticquake. HEAR ME OUT OKAY? I used to like Staticquake a lot, but on my rewatches I see myself getting farther and farther away from it. It's not that they don't have good chemistry or that I don't think they're really in love, oh no, they have all of it, it's just not the best relationship for Daisy. There are more than a few moments where they're arguing, majority of the time Lincoln being in the wrong, and later Daisy apologizing for it? It always struck me as odd. I also feel like resolved too many issues behind the scenes, relying on exposition to make the audience believe they had gone further in their relationship

DekeDaisy. Idk if they have an actual ship name, so I'm going with this one for now. It's just wayyy too one-sided and doesn't seem like it would work anyway. Daisy was not in the right frame of mind for a relationship, and she seemed relatively blind to Deke's advances. Also considering that Deke sold her to the Kree earlier... yeah, it was never gonna work

Skyeward. It might get up one spot for the Framework version of them, but as it stands, the real life version of them is AWFUL. Ward lied to Skye on almost everything, hurt her, hurt her loved ones, kidnapped her, became obsessed with her, and countless other things I can't remember rn. They're so toxic and if you ship them (not Framework or pre-betrayal), I have genuine concern in your love life

I was reading your tags on the akkayan post talking about rejection and how ayan was so mature and understanding despite the fact that he was hurt and it got me thinking about the our skyy episodes that I was rewatching yesterday. I don't think Ayan would really pretend to not remember akk's birthday and make him spend the whole day feeling bad about it just to surprise him later. what are your opinions about the special?

i get where you're coming from! honestly my thoughts were similar the first time i watched the our skyy eps, like it felt a lil ooc to me. but then i sat on it for a little while and after a rewatch of the whole show i felt differently about it.

i think ayan loves to tease akk. he LOVES to see him get all huffy and frustrated and annoyed. i didn't realise just how much he loves it until i went back and rewatched the eclipse again and i was like 'oh, this is literally a Thing for ayan', so i get why he might think it's a good idea to tease/surprise akk in that way, even if from the outside looking in you're kinda like hm maybe lets not do that!

on top of that he's in a much different headspace to what he was during the eclipse - both of them are. they're no longer in survival mode. ayan is a little more removed from the grief he felt for his uncle. so the version we see of both of their characters in the our skyy eps is likely closer to their baselines than the version we see in series. ayan in the show is kinda mentally fucked up, really. but then think abt who he became when he was around his mum, when he probably felt safest and most relaxed - goofy, full of jokes, teasing. and it's easily lost in everything that goes on in that show, but i think that's who he is at his core, yknow? a little bit cocky. very boyish. he LOWKEY does have 'pulling on your pigtails bc i like you' energy. and you do see moments of it in the main show!! but everything else that's going on is so big and he's going through so much that side of him just gets drowned out. (and the same goes for akk! he was soooo babyboy in the our skyy eps, and i think that's who he always was deep down, he just didn't feet safe enough to express until ayan! like! my boys grew so much in just a few months!)

and like... i know what i said in my tags (and still stand by it obv) but also... ayan is still a teenage boy, no matter how mature. he can obviously hold space for really, really big things and big emotions and can deal with them with the maturity of someone twice his age, but that doesn't mean he's not still immature. tbh in my experience usually the ppl that can deal w the biggest most fucked up things with the most grace are usually the ones who are the most immature/struggle the most in mundane situations. does that make sense? like trauma can make you weird. but not even that, i just think ayan thought it was a fun lil goofy idea, not thinking it all the way through, not thinking abt how it might hurt or upset akk. it happens! it happens in adult relationships, even. even ppl who have been together for years get things wrong sometimes! but ayan meant well. he never would've set out to intentionally hurt akk and akk knows that, nor do i think he realised just HOW upset akk was, and that's what counts imo.

i do ultimately think the our skyy eps were a little heavy handed, but i would no longer go so far to say that they were out of character. i think ayan's just a kid who thought 'i'll pretend to forget his bday so i get to see him all pouty and sulky for a few weeks, then he'll be sooo surprised when i play our song for him!' (which was acc so thoughtful and romantic even if i did nearly die of cringe) and misjudged it bc he's a kid and their relationship is still relatively new and they're still figuring themselves and each other out, yknow? at least that's my take on it! but i do completely get why people might disagree. you do kinda wanna grab ayan by the shoulders and go 'stop it! you're upsetting the baby!' while you're watching it lmao 💕

YEAH. i really think that this is like, one downside of john having such a limited perspective/experience with humanity, is that i think he's like... genuinely unaware, or at least was for a long time, just how much arthur cares about him and his companionship. i mean john like, knows when he's overstepped (bc arthur makes it Very Clear, lol), and is aware that the forgiveness he gets is something above & beyond the norm that he shouldn't expect, but he... doesn't have the points of comparison to like, interpret that forgiveness?

so he has a hard time like, guessing at arthur's limits, i think, as another person on relatively equal footing with him. like in s4. sure they were able to get over x y and z in the past, but he's carrying around all this guilt about the dark world, and he's lying to arthur about the order and going behind his back to do kayne's bidding even though he knows how arthur feels about being manipulated and used, so what if this is the limit? the thing he finally can't forgive, that destroys their relationship permanently?

which is a feeling that probably just builds and builds the more "small" mistakes he makes in nyc. until it all finally comes out in the worst possible way, with kayne basically rubbing it in arthur's face that he got played, and john not really being offered even a moment to talk about it in private, so he panics and tries to take the memory loss deal. bc surely arthur will hate him for this, he'll be angry and john doesn't want him to be angry, he wants time and space to be able to phrase things the Right Way to not make him any more upset, to make it okay—but kayne pulls the rug, obviously. so he has in fact succeeded only in making the betrayal Even Worse.

...and then after he gets done being Really Fucking Mad, the very next thing arthur wants to communicate to him is:

ARTHUR: [...] Look. Look. Given all we’ve been through… (John sighs.) A-All… All we’ve experienced together… (A slow piano melody begins.) john keeps lying and running and hiding and biting back the second he feels pressured and all arthur has ever asked of him is honesty and some attempt at growth. that's it!

it's so fucking symmetric they make me sick actually. arthur at least understands what love is supposed to look like. john is so unfamiliar with All Of This that he doesn't get that all arthur wants is for him to be here. as long as arthur believes that he's trying and genuinely cares he'll put up with fucking anything, bc he refuses to lose him.

like whatever happened in the dark world i don't think any of it was Nice or Friendly. john's understanding of relationships is the transactional god-and-worshipper or predator-prey or animal-rival. and then he's getting thrown straight into arthur's unconditional, selfish, desperate devotion?

He’s definitely not that “Joe Goldberg from You” type of stalker. He despises the guy, he watches that show to have a laugh. It’s his form of disaster tourism. Geto is almost the antithesis of Joe. I was a big fan of the first season of You so let me elaborate. Joe has a savior complex and he latches onto any conventionally attractive rich woman in his proximity and tries to mold them into his ideal type (which is vulnerable, dependent, innocent, and forgiving) and when shit hits the fan he becomes a whiney little bitch saying stuff like “aww, but I did this all for you :cc” because he’s in complete denial about his crimes and psychopathic nature. Geto is the opposite, and what makes him so fucking scary is that he doesn’t need to convince himself that his actions are right. He knows he’s right.

Also, he won’t put on a fucking cap and go out on the streets to stalk you. That’s just a dumb decision, he has a job to do, and it’s easy to recognize him. But that doesn’t mean that he won’t do it in his spare time, from a comfortable distance. He only needs one of your socials and digs up every little detail about you. Your entire lore. Pictures shared by your relatives when you were just a little kid, he tracks your friends’ accounts (he wants to make sure that you’re surrounded by the right people), all the locations, cafés, restaurants you share on your instagram highlights, your celebrity crushes, all the playlists you made on spotify, everything. He gets to know you before you’re even aware of his existence, you’re an open book to him before he talks to you. The easiest way to understand how his mind works is to look at his MBTI type and I’ll try to hold myself back to not flood you all with my everlasting love for Jungian psychology and cognitive functions. INTJs are meticulous, skeptical, analytical, practical, everything is centered around a bigger, more complex system, a spiderweb of thoughts. Their subjective ideals and values have the utmost importance. They get lost in the details sometimes, but they manage to prioritize creativity and rationality in their actions and thought process. So, if we want to pick a category among murderers, he’d definitely belong into a mission oriented type (canon is my only proof for this). He couldn’t care less about money, power, or satisfying his needs for control. He’s the personification of punishment in his mind.

Evil is petty, he is petty, but not so much to just deal with every single nuisance in the shape of a person (looking at Joe again lol). He won’t go after the Karens at your workplace or the shitty classmates who just wanted their name on your assignment without any contribution. If he kills, he must kill for a valid reason and does it brilliantly. Calm and level-headed, organized, devoid of anger or any intense emotion. He makes awful lot of preparations for a kill. He studies the victim just like he studies with you. Their schedule, relationships, habits, social media presence. He’d rather arrange the scene to give the impression of an accident. Mixing cleaning products, fucking around with the heating system and letting them die of carbon monoxide poisoning or a house fire (an easy kill if the victim smokes). He rarely lets himself get carried away and get all bloody and gorey because he knows how much effort he must put into disposing of the body. But he does feel like a god during the process. That he rules over life and death. That he has the divine right to decide who should be removed from existence.

The only slightly risky thing he allows himself, is to put his earphones in and call you up while dismembering a corpse. Good thing that his grandma has no use for that big ass meat grinder, a literal jackpot for getting rid of the bodies. His voice is soothing, so sweet you can turn into a blushing and giggling mess, but you can still hear the loud chopping noises as he severs the body parts right at the joints. He shrugs it off that he’s just meal prepping.

You believe him, you don’t question him further. But he does cook a delicious meal just for you and sends it to your workplace. And you have absolutely no idea that he was thinking about cutting up the ingredients with the same knife he killed his victim with. Luckily, he changed his mind. You don’t deserve to have any remnants of a lowlife in your system. But the idea was nice, just like how modern witches tie their favorite person to them. There’s something ritualistic about blood consumption in his mind that he can’t explain. Hopefully, a few drops of his own didn’t ruin the meal. At least you weren’t complaining about the metallic taste. He doesn’t mind he has to live off on two cans of Monster because he pulled an all-nighter. You’re falling head over heels for him so it’s worth the suffering.

The only thing that makes his heart ache is that as your relationship develops, he must use you to forge his alibis. He immediately copied the keys to your apartment, without your knowledge of course. Sometimes he drops by when you’re absent, goes through your stuff, sniffs around, looking for trinkets. He comes over specifically when he plans to kill his next victim. Sneaks out in the middle of the night, kills them, then goes back to your place and crawls back next to you. And he’s as silent as a cat, as a phantom, as a ghost.

He’s a fucked up man in every aspect. You think he’s too hyper fixated on restraints and bondage. He’s far too keen to spend an excruciatingly long time arranging the rope in an aesthetically pleasing way, or have the gag’s and blindfold’s colors match perfectly. His creativity and imagination are running wild when you’re the rigger. You almost question his sanity when he asks you to use cable ties and masking tape on him. What does he want? To feel tortured? Deep down he’s fascinated with the feelings a potential victim might experience. A taste of distress, vulnerability, helplessness that he usually has no chance to feel, yet he’s thrilled about it. You still won’t suspect a thing, everybody’s got a weird kink or two that they can’t explain, right?

He knows that one day, you’ll discover his secret. That he can’t hide it forever and even though he justifies his vile actions by giving it a noble cause, he must earn your forgiveness. He deliberately kept those who hurt you mostly alive. Whether it’s a bully, the shittiest ex known to mankind, or an abusive parent. He knows he has no right to kill them. But he can bring them to your basement, gagged and tied up. The best birthday gift ever is to let you have your revenge, right? Or maybe he just wants somebody as irredeemable as him, like he’s undeserving of anything nice in life so he must break it, tarnish it, ruin it. The world is a such a cruel place for kind spirits, he feels the need to corrupt them. Bring them down to his level.

He lined up a bunch of tools, a wooden bat, scissors, knives, razor blades, a hatchet, a hammer. He transformed the basement into a makeshift rage room. You don’t dare to cry, run, or scream at him, the person before your eyes makes you freeze completely, your features are distorted in dread. An old response got triggered, your nervous system remembers those years, you’re flooded with memories. You feel yourself regressing back to the victim you once were and that’s the process that Geto wants to stop once and for all. It’s so strange that you find safety in his presence and his firm hold above your elbows. He’s looming over you like a shadow, a shroud. Like the devil on your shoulder. Cooing in your ear to pick up something and have fun, let your rage cloud your mind, make them relive your pain. Don’t worry about a single thing because he will do all the clean-up. And you have no idea why, but you accept.

It’s strangely comforting. You feel in control, all-powerful, accomplished. It feels better than it should. It feels so right but it shouldn’t. There’s no guilt in you, only endorphins running rampant in your veins. The dopamine rush enslaves you, fills your brain with white noise. The pain does fade a little or something just irrevocably breaks in you. Maybe you’re just as fucked up as him and you managed to bury it in the deepest corner of your psyche. All bottled up for years like the most exquisite French wine, chained just like a beast but now it’s freed. Your reward is a bloody pile of flesh and guts that once was a person, and utter devotion gleaming in Geto’s eyes.

Your consciousness gets clearer, you notice the sensation of being drenched in blood and sweat when the realization hits you that there’s no going back. Now, you’re sticked together for life. You know his dirty little secret and now you’ve forged your own that he can blackmail you with if you ever want to get away from him. But why would you do that? You’re everything he needs and he’s all you have.

Theory: Genshin is changing their target demographic. Let me explain.

Honestly I've never seen a more Whole House Mad situation in the Genshin community than with the recent Varesa leaks. I open twt and see people obviously not happy with her design, animation, the fact that Iansan supposedly lost her 5* slot for this and the fact that she's supposed to be a "chubby" cow Luchadores when she looks...like that. And then I go into xhs and see Chinese players mad about pretty much the same thing. A lot of them have been upset since Natlan's release, saying that the characters feel like east asians cosplaying as/ appropriating other cultures, which didn't sit right with them. Some are also saying that the fact that Hoyo is calling Varesa's body type "fat" indirectly insults players who have that same, relatively healthy bmi and skinny body type. And yeah, I also have that same body type and my BMI is 22 which very normal unless you're on edtwt (lol).

So it got me thinking. Who is the target audience for this? It's definitely not the majority of the global audience or the Chinese audience bc they're all not happy. And to be frank since Natlan, I've never seen anyone who genuinely like the character designs and the only ones who do are either a. Only likes it as bait to "own the libs" like "oh this makes the people I hate mad therefore I like it" or b. People who are purposefully being ignorant about how problematic the characters are and refuses to see other people's perspective. So obviously they're trying to appeal to the incels and gooners even though they are a small (yet very loud) minority.

You might have seen posts about people sharing pictures of Fontaine characters, captioning it with something like "what happened to the character designs 💔" but I'm sorry to tell you, but I think they legitimately stopped caring about appealing to the general audience and yes, it is heartbreaking to see where this game's direction is going. If you remember, the incels and gooners are mad at some of the characters and their design in this era. Some notable examples here are Lyney, Furina, and Wanderer (boy, they really hate those boyshorts, huh?). From what I can tell, for some reason these people really freaking hates it when something appeals to a wider audience (namely female players and other minorities) and not cater to them specifically. I mean, just look at these incels seething over Infinity Nikki and Love and Deepspace for existing, not to appeal to them. Not to mention the fact that Wanderer and Furina often wins the top most popular Male and Female characters polls respectively but also one of the most hated characters by incels. And for some reason Hoyo decided to coddle these freaks as their business strategy, maybe they saw how successful ZZZ is with their goonerbait and tried to copy them and decided to abandon their preexisting audience? We may never know. For the record, I think ZZZ's strategy of baiting gooners and then BAM! give them deep dank lore therefore warding off weirdos who "aint reading allat" and hooking people who can look past the goonery, maturely engage with and actually enjoy the game and lore therefore resulting in a relatively chill community (at least compared to other Hoyo communities) really freaking genius. And what's funnier is that in Indonesian social media spaces, Genshin has been called a "gooner game" by people outside of the fandom long before ZZZ's release, which at the time is obviously not true and now it's sort of become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Personally my opinion on Varesa's design is the same case for Mizuki's design for me, I get what Hoyo's trying to go for but the overall design gets ruined by the fact that they are very obviously and not so subtly trying to appeal to a certain audience. And I'm afraid at this rate it will get worse from here on out. And to the people who genuinely, wholeheartedly like Varesa's character design, you are free to do so, but you cannot deny the type of audience she's specifically made for in mind and why people think it's problematic.

Many EL believe that Elain owes Lucien an apology bc of her actions with Azriel in the Bonus Chapter-especially since he’s been respectful towards her by giving her space. While I do agree that a conversation obviously needs to be had, I do not believe she owes him an apology as she has done nothing wrong. And I also believe that sort of conversation will not happen in someone else’s book.

EL also believe that Azriel is a rebound/childish as it would be built on dishonesty vs forbidden. I’m not sure what to say to this as it is absolutely forbidden and in the end it comes down to them truly believing Elain owes something to Lucien bc she’s his “mate”. As if she is his property, which is just yuck.

So, the question for Eluciens is this: at what point do you grovel? when you find someone else attractive and desirable? when you don't day 'no' to him? when you don't feel like you owe him a whole long conversation because you DON"T KNOW HIM and you aren't interested in GETTING to know him.

What necessitates this grovel? That he is a 'nice guy'? That he didn't rape you? Hit you? Force you? Gaslit you?

Is that the bar for Lucien then? That he is a 'nice guy' and hence Elain must submit to her fate? to him?

Is the expectation then that Nesta grovel in front of Cassian, because she fucked a bunch of dudes knowing he was her mate?

Should Feyre grovel in front of Tamlin, because she refused to marry him and opted for Rhys?

Perhaps Mor should grovel in front of Eris, since she 'cheated' on him with Cassian?

Lady of Autumn, before Beron, because she cheated on him with Helion?

I don't know. Where does it stop for this fandom? That females should be humbled in front of males and never make any trouble?

By then, they’d gained his trust enough for the kid to let them pick him up, a tiny little thing that was mostly bone and leathery, half-zombified skin.

The crazy thing? A small handful of those are correct, tho often in relatively minor and/or oblique ways. Carrots have vitamins that are good for your eyes (but won't cure major diseases, obviously); same with walnuts/fatty acids/brain. Ginger is carminative and antispasmodic and decent for nausea (tho it can make some stuff worse for some ppl, ime it's not so good for the coulplefew folks with crohns I know). Sweet potatoes can more suitable for diabetics than white potatoes or many other forms of carbs.

Other stuff: a class of red to purple pigment I don't remember the name of rn is genuinely supportive 2 the heart muscle and 2 capillary health & supporting circulation. Again. Not rlly a treatment for acute/major disease. But when our options are "something that might incrementally improve chances" and "literally absolutely nothing", those possible minute differences do kinda matter--not 2 mention, those milder "not life threatening but could use some support" spaces DO. MATTER. AND. AFFECT. PEOPLES. LIVES.

I do not think the doctrine of signatures is a reasonable basis 2 make medical decisions. I once saw a comment about Helaena where someone sympathized with her circumstances in the show but started to dislike her after reading the book. Which is… odd, considering she barely appears in the text and has little to no agency.

They were comparing her to Rhaena Targaryen, specifically the lengths Rhaena went to in order to protect her daughters, how she made sure she didn’t even know their whereabouts so she couldn’t reveal them under torture.

Like I said in this post, Rhaena ALSO could have joined her brother Aegon in the Gods Eye and left their two daughters behind with their friends...as some fans argue. And te (correct) counterarguement has been that she couldn't expect the girls to be completely safe if BOTHher an Aegon were to die and Maegor demands BOTH of them to appear and be his hostages. Balerion was old (the last Targ dragon that actually saw Valyria), enormous, and battle-experienced. Dreamfyre and Quicksliver were not.

Helaena was also likely thinking about her own limitations, whic were not like Rhaena's. Rhaena's issues may have come from family, but it wasn't as ensnarled and..."entrapping" as like Helaena's who had to grow up with her endangers and negotiate her dignities and ignore other indinities day-in-day-out from childhood. Patriarchy exhausts its female victims or tricks them into thinking they are "equal" at times out of its necessity for female bodies/labor.

Helaena's problems stemmed from being basically outnumbered in her own home since birth and growing up Faith-educated/conditioned as to te very meaning of womanhood, motherhood, etc....there's going to be some flaws and a self-underestimation even into adulthood.

As her kids were not abused in the Green spaces over the years, Helaen had little real reason to suspect that her relatives would actually present or lead danger to her kids, so it is weird to expect her to jump ship without a palpable incentive. Even if there had been abuse, the education, the ties are so snarled up & entangled with each other to the point the wrong move could create even more danger or introduce punishment/recrimination/degradation and be overlooked (in said person's perspective and experience). And thus NEGOTIATION or COMPROMISE/COMPLY, and there's a line b/t compliance and compromise I think we see in Helaena's situation, potentially. This is common in domestic abuse cases when surveying te partner and children, and again, this is not a case of domestic abuse. Without an immediate ir visibly encroaching danger--Rhaena was already looking at the possibility of leaving her kids defenseless--people tend to negotiate or compromise. Still, either way, the idea and material reality of Helaena's depedency as a wife and mother uniquely discourages her and other women from jumping ship.

Rhaena is not Faith/woman-is-obedient educated, AND she had a dragon. Even she was still forced to marry a man who raped her and held her kids hostage.

Having a dragon only gets you so far; you need to have the right balance of having the sociopolitical "room" and self awareness partly developed from the opportunity of that "room" to really believe you can do much with just a dragon. This needs to be your base. As I pointed out in THIS POST.

Not everything should be viewed in "were they obviously brave" or "but were they an obviously and a parent who sensationally put their own lives at risk for their kids" as the primary critical lens. How you parent or protect your kids is important both in real life and in ASoIaF's themes, but such will be determined by how your development went, which you can't separate from the long "dance", or back and forth, between your conditions and how you respond to them, yes?

Some people simply aren't even able to bc the situation simply doesn't call for that but to NEGOTIATE your way out (Aegon and calming him down) bc to force your way through could also lead to grave punishment, and "punishment" for disobeidience is suc a huge implement for intimate and public oppression, if more subtle and underestimated bec it's so everyday and constant and intimate. And when she does get the opportunity, Helaena DOES try to do this later on w/B&C. But even this, she's barred from doing.

To her, complying with her mother, grandfather, and brothers' wishes likely was protecting everyone, not just herself and her kids. If she can get Rhaenyra to maybe "see reason" and Aegon to slow down to "talk" to her, no one has to die--bc it's already "too late" to do anything about it after the usurpation. (The way I think Helaena likely thought about it.) It's very easy to see how she didn't think her on Dreamfyre could amount to much when Aemond is both sword-trained and rode the biest, oldest, battle-hardened dragon around at the time. It possibly wouldn't have even been a real consideration.

This is your typical, patriarchy-living woman, and she does deserve as much "objective" assessment and sympathy as the women who rebel. Even though I personally am not all that into them bc it's too...passive and non story-forward to a degree IF we don't go into their heads. Like with younger-Sansa almost. I guess you can say that Helaena suffers from, like other women, the narrative not allowing its readers to WITNESS these people's lives. And that was on purpose.

Helaena is on an extreme end of complacency/subtle self-defense vs rebelliousness/dramatic self defense, on the side of subtle bc her conditions simply are that she's stuck with people she and her kids materially depend on.

sorry for the delayed response anon. i've just been super busy with work and whatnot.

so, a couple days ago i mentioned that while i love snc, they annoy me (in case anyone was confused by what the anon was asking) and so… here's why i'm upset with them.

i thought about making a separate post, but i figured i would just say it here, and if ppl want more info (for whatever reason), i'll go into more detail separately.

i'm, most likely, leaving xplrclub. and i'm leaving it bc snc are going down the wrong path, imo.

here's why:

i've been on xplrclub since it began. like all the way back in 2021. i vividly remember being excited for a space where snc could have exclusive content, bc i had been a youtube member of theirs before, and on there they just did podcasts. but since they were gonna do more, i was interested in what else they were willing to provide.

and xplrclub 1.0 was good, but of course it had it's faults.

the majority of the problems i had with the og xplrclub was that it just was a laggy ass site/app. clearly it wasn't meant to house that much content or that many patrons. and so the site itself just wasn't great. there was no tagging system, so if you wanted to see a video from four months back for example, you would have to scroll back that far. and that's assuming the site would even load back to that point. the livestreams would always crash. chat basically had to never be paid attention to or exist. it was just… not the best.

also snc had a tendency to just not post for a while. sometimes they would be consistent (in the beginning they were) but then there were times they wouldn't post for like two weeks straight. and then if they did, it would be like a random camera roll vid that barely counts as content. but i stuck around bc they ALWAYS did a podcast and a livestream. and that's what i looked forward to. plus, xplrclub members would get discount codes on merch. so there was that. and then the giveaway, of course.

within the last year or so, snc have made major changes to xplrclub, and that is where my main issues now comes in.

they made it a whole new site, which was very much needed. it's a lot more organized now, you can find things relatively easier. the site isn't laggy, neither is the app. and chat doesn't completely freeze and crash livestreams now. so hey, that's good.

but the one thing i didn't want whatsoever (and this is obviously just my opinion and i'm not speaking for anyone else) is the chatrooms/members feed. i thought they were bad ideas from the get-go, but i've learned to just accept them as part of the site. i don't use them, but hey - there are plenty of others that do. this site isn't personally catered to me, so it's whatever.

however now, it seems like with the way things are going with the new content on there, the site is gonna become centered around that, with the occasional vid from the boys.

at the end of last year, the boys said that they were planning to really change things up on the site. they had some things in the works, new content, and they were excited to release it. and i was intrigued. but from what i've seen now… it's not what i want.

first off, their "new content" is just these ritual things. and i don't want show examples of it, but the best way i can describe it is this: every month has a set theme, and then weekly the boys post a "ritual" that goes with that theme. and in theory, it's not a bad idea. but personally, i just don't give a flying fuck lol like i know that's a bitchy way to say it, but that's just the reality. i have no interest in it whatsoever. obviously there are fans on there that love it and are gonna do it, and that's great. but the issue i have is it seems like this content is now replacing the ONE THING that was keeping me on this site: the podcasts. for two months now, snc have not done any pods. and granted, maybe they've been busy. maybe they forgot. but i have a feeling this content is replacing it. and it's just a no go for me.

secondly, while snc post daily, it's just text posts. and while i don't mind the occasional one or whatever, they don't interact with fans. what it feels like is the posts get queued up for the week and the boys are just not on the site. maybe they are engaging with fans somewhere else, and i just don't see it bc it's a part of the site i don't use, but like… why make text posts asking questions if you aren't gonna respond to any fans?? this isn't school, i'm not answering discussion questions for credit.

third, the livestreams. the last two, imo, felt like the boys wanted to be anywhere else. and obviously there is probably a million fucking things happening behind the scenes i know nothing about. i get it, i don't always show up to work in a happy mood. however…… this is the ONE TIME a month you are asked to be on, live, in front of fans. and you don't seem to want to be here. and i get that at least for colby, there were fans in both livestreams shitting on malia, and if i saw that shit i would want to leave too. but still, it just feels a little phoned in. and i think part of that is bc within some point during the last year, they switched over to having themed lives and themed pods. so it's no longer off the cuff ones, where they kinda just shoot the shit and whatnot, it's now themed so they stick to one topic, answer a handful of questions related to that, do the giveaway, and call it a day. and while in theory it's not a bad idea to do themed pods or lives, i think it limits what snc can talk about. and it makes the whole thing feel very much like a business meeting rather than a chat with fans. and i just don't like that.

i can go into more detail, but i will spare you my rambles unless you direly want them lol

i just think that if the site is gonna change to lean heavy on the social side, but snc are no where to be found and i'm supposed to just talk to fans and interact with them for $19 a month, it's gonna be a no from me, dawg. i want content from them, not others.

at the very least, i wish there was a tier system in place. like for $5 a month you get the specific content, but you can't do anything else on the site. for $10, you get all the exclusive content, but not access to the members feed or chatrooms. and then for the full price, you get everything. bc then i wouldn't care about being on the site if i knew i'm getting exactly what i paid for. instead i'm paying for shit i don't use, and then they get rid of the one thing i liked.

now, it's possible that snc have been just busy and they plan to do a pod soon. if that's the case, i might stay on for a bit longer. but i'm most likely gonna leave, come back a couple months later, leave again, come back later. or maybe just wait until they do a sale during hell week like they've done every year now lol

i just personally feel like relying heavily on fans to entertain each other is bad business. respectfully, this fandom is fucking mean most of the time. and i'm not paying to talk to fans. my interactions with fans is starting and stopping on this site and that's it lmao

Euro 2020 pics Part 2!

So as mentioned in the prev post, I had six different shifts across six of the eight matches Wembley hosted (ngl I got so lucky with my shift selection).

MD1 - Group Stage: England v Scotland

My first shift was for ingress (event organiser terminology for the spectators arriving at the stadium) at Scotland v England which... was an experience. Not gonna lie I was really relieved when it was announced that there was going to be a limit on spectators as part of the covid protocols bc I don't think I would have survived dealing with 90,000 Scotland and England fans at once 😭

(Also the irony of me being half-English/half-Scottish and getting Scotland v England as my first shift... the football gods clearly love me.)

I was fully expecting the journey to the stadium to be awful but bc I have to be there hours before kick-off it was fine, though I still saw some Scotland fans on the tube and they clocked my uniform and asked me about what I was doing and wished me luck for the day which was actually really sweet.

For my first shift manicure I did my nails a pastel lime green to match the accent colours on my uniform, going super super neutral (as volunteers representing UEFA we had to be neutral anyway, but for me even more so).

Genuinely I don't think I had ever seen so many people wearing kilts on one place (a couple of people were in formal highland dress, the rest were just in football shits, kilts and trainers, sadly there wasn't many bagpipes where I was)

The one thing I remember from the day was that were my group was stationed towards the back of the stadium was so windy. It was literally early June and I was having to do star jumps to keep myself warm (either I took my hoodie as a just in case or my Sister-in-Law told me to take it, either way I was so glad I had it on under my raincoat)

As I wasn't on shift for egress (the bit where everyone leaves the stadium) I left just after kick-off with my packed lunch dinner and hot footed it back to my relatives place to avoid any carnage, pretty sure I was the only person in the whole city thrilled with a 0-0 draw dvhsjdvhdfjzhj

MD2 - Group Stage: Czech Republic v England

Besties for my second shift I came prepared. I had so much stuff in my backpack it was a good thing I was on shift for both Ingress and Egress as I struggled to fit my food bag into it before going home.

This shift was really fun as it was pretty minimal stakes, England were pretty much guaranteed to be through into the knockout stages so the spectators were mostly fine. For this shift I was based on Wembley way so I spent 90% of the time taking pictures of people with the stadium in the background. For my nails I went with a bright orange (it's my favourite colour so I had to fit it in at some point)

We were all stood down just before kick-off and were sent to the volunteer centre to have our meal, which was a sandwich, packet of crisps, fruit, chocolate, and at either this match or the next one we got some hot soup as well. The eating area was literally in the middle of Wembley arena (as in the bit where the concerts happen), which was wild but with social distancing they needed plenty of space. It was actually quite fun getting to decompress and chat with everyone.

Egress was super simple, just smiling and waving goodbye but some of us had light sticks which led to a bunch of us pretending we were in Star Wars, naturally. (I had a criminal amount of fun, sadly I had to hand the light stick back before I left).

MD3 - Round of 16: Italy v Austria

So for this shift I got given a megaphone :D

It was so much fun, obviously I used it for Serious and Official Volunteering Messages, but I did have a bit of fun by saying Buona Sera to any Italian fans which... their costumes were so good. We had Mario and Luigi and some people dressed up as pizza slices. They brough such a great vibe and were just living their best lives and were really nice to all of us. The entrance I was posted at was at the Italian end so there wasn't that many Austria fans, but I did see one lady wearing a really pretty dirndl which I complemented her on.

This match started the recurring theme all of us had of "please don't go to extra time I want to get home before midnight"... none of them listened which was very rude and bc I was a bit weary of travelling round London super late at night I asked to leave early since my London based fam live on the other side of the city to Wembley and I got back safely!

For this match I did my nails bright pink, and if you ever want a good picture of your manicure take pictures on the tube bc the lighting will never let you down (especially if they're shimmery of sparkly)

So this time our story starts in 80s japan! Where, for lack of a better word, a very average girl was born. Or is she average? Well,,,,,

Anyways, Yua had a normal upbringing. Two loving parents with stable jobs, rich overseas relatives that spoiled her rotten whenever possible (ok that's not that normal but whatevs) and a few friends in school.

Things changed when in her last year of middle school her parents announced that they were moving to their relatives overseas. Yua did not want that. At all. While she tried to convince them, the move has already been planned and plane tickets were about to be purchased.

Two days later, in a moment of intrusive compulsion, Yua pushed her father down the stairs. It was supposed to be just a little push, maybe to sprain his ankle and to delay the move but as fate would have it, her father almost died in that fall. Her mother, obviously horrified, declared then and there that Yua wasn't her daughter anymore. Her father ended up in a nursing home due to lasting damages after the fall and her mother moved and left Yua alone.

Yua's living expenses were afterwards payed for by her overseas family and she could stay in Japan.

Come high school, Yua was once again a normal student who happened to live alone, the accident having been buried and chalked up to an unlucky slip. She was decently popular thanks to her good grades and outgoing attitude but somehow never made any lasting friendships. Except that one time...

Yua noticed a rather peculiar classmate of hers. He had ginger hair, always wore a hood and barley ever spoke to anyone. If he spoke he was generally rude, wasn't in any club, every break he'd disappear onto the rooftop and bolted straight home at the end of each day. He never did any homework or participated in projects but still passed each class. She was intruiged. How could such an asshole exist?

To investigate, she examined every nook and cranny of the rooftop and stumbled upon the tight space between the back of the little building door thing that leads up to the rooftop and the fence which was the ginger's hiding spot. She tried to strike up conversation until the guy had enough and rudely told her off. "You're better off not talking to me. I'm always alone for a reason." Oh great, he's fucking emo. Though this didn't dissuade Yua, if anything she was determined to get this guy to talk to her. As a fun experiment.

A few months of constant perstering later, she finally got his first name (because just looking at the class list would have been too easy). Literally Mistake. No wonder he's like that.

Almost half a year later, Yua got Machigai to open up a little and the two hit it off. They ended up very close friends, some even assumed they were dating (they're both gay so they just found it funny).

At the end of high school, Yua was terrified. Terrified of losing the one friend she had, terrified of all the change that was inevitablely going to occur. Her fear got even worse when Machigai straight up disappeared after graduation. She didn't know what to do. She hasn't applied to any colleges, she hasn't thought about her future at all.

In a slight crisis, she visited her relatives overseas, maybe make amends with her mother. Unfortunately, her mother was unwilling to see her, believing her to be a ruthless monster. Yua continued to travel around for a bit, in a desperate attempt to figure out her future. When she returned to japan, she was just as lost as when she left.

A few years and multiple jobs later, she accidentally stumbled upon Japan's undergroung magic government (or something like that, I only skimmed cat16 lol) and it suddenly hit her. She doesn't have to accept change or make rash decisions about her future if she's immortal, right? Plus this way she might be able to seek out her old friend again (because there is no way that guy is just a normal human).

Some convoluted shenanigans later she struck a deal with the Hiiragi family. She would offer herself up to be experimented on for the development of cursed gear (they were working on that right) for a chance at immortality (except she just gave some vague reasoning on what she wants lol). And once again, as fate would have it, she would get her wish fulfilled in probably the worst way possible.

One of the demons up for grabs (lol) was one nobody was really sure of how it got there or how it precisely worked. It was a set of 6 rings and it was supposed to be a very furios demon, as it possessed and killed anyone who tried beforehand.

Yua took the gamble and she was greated by a... kid? The demon had the form of a human, probably around 11 years old. "Hello, human. Lemme just...", before Yua could react, the demon had already pierced her heart and looked inside.

"So you want immortality? Wow, super original. Scared of change? Boring! Oh well, you do have some amazing greed so I'll consider it. Tell me, what will you give me in return?"

"Huh?"

"hUh? I was crystal clear. But since you're stupid, I guess I'll give you a hint: Your desires and greed alone aren't enough to satiate me if you want to be immortal. You have to give me another thing for that to happen"

"...like what?"

"Ugh, isn't it obvious?! Your sanity, your emotions, your eyesight! Anything goes!"

"Then... what about my tears?"

"Tears? Oh like your abilty to cry... that should work. So deal?"

"What would happen to me if I accept?"

"How should I know?! You'll just have to wait and see! So are you up to it? If you say no you're dead anyways."

"Fine. I accept."

And thus, Yua's new life began. The demons powers granted her some sort of razor sharp physics-defying, almost spider web like, string that would become uneffective against anyone wearing one of the rings allowing for a more supportive use. She spent god knows how long training with and without the rings (that's how she got those scars) and any time not spent training was spent studying magic n shit. She became highly proficient in spells and yeah. (Muh brains dead rn i'm sorry)

As for the no tears thing... it's not great. Her eyes still self-lubricate to get debris and whatnot out of there if needed, but no tears for anything else. But to still process intense emotions, Yua has different reactions. If she's sad/angry/[other negative emotion] she feels physically ill. Sometimes to the point of having to throw up. If she's very very happy/relieved, it makes her unable to stand still. So in order to avoid the more negative effects, she learnt to surpress most if not all negative emotions, at least to the point where she doesn't feel ill anymore. Unfortunately, this led to all her emotions getting dampened which leads to her coming off a insensitive sometimes. She also often forces a more positive emotion out of negative ones or straight up ignores them to avoid feeling ill.

Fast forward to the apocalypse and Yua was promptly put into the JIDA. During the first-ish years she was often sent out to rescue people and to help train up soldiers. During this time she rescued and pseudo adopted a boy who miraculously survived the initial catastrophe (he is the 3rd major oc. I lied her and his demons are also more fleshed out but ahem anyways more on the lil guy later).

During all this she was still determined to meet Machigai again, if possible. She went digging in the army's archives and lo and behold, she found the ginger. In the documents he was classified as M.I.A., namley kidnapped and held captive by vampires. Yua brought this up with the top brass and they allowed her to conduct a search and rescue mission for Machigai since the JIDA realized he'd be a useful asset. Except she had to do it alone.

So Yua yolo'd into vampire teritory up until Nagoya, making sure to draw enough attention to herself without getting caught.

The sudden disappearance of soldiers was obviously enough to draw the attention of the ruling vampires in Nagoya, namley Crowley Eusford. At the mention of "a woman with long dark hair" Machigai uncharacteristically volunteered to take care of the disturbance. While it was highly unlikley that it really was his friend from over ten years ago, he wanted to at least make sure it's not really her.

Aaaand they meet again. Dramatic reunion ensues. Machigai is so confused and shocked and Yua couldn't be more relieved at the sight of Machigai in that uniform. She gave a very simplified version of how tf she looks that young and is still alive while Machigai also fessed up about what is up with him.

Machigai broke down a little and pleaded with Yua to run away with him and to leave everything behind. Unfortunatley she couldn't agree but she promised to visit again, consequences be damned.

Yua stuck around the area for a little more to hopefully lure out the big fish himself. Crowley did show up (for reasons that I'll expand on later adnwgjnhr) and in Yua offered her deal (see doodle page): Crowley let's her, yk, live and in return she gives him some key information about the ginger enigma (Machigai). Crowley accepts (reason will be explained later. again. I'm sorry) and Yua gets to live. Hurray!

Once she gets back to the JIDA base, her 'treason' gets exposed and she is thrown into jail! Except she manipulates her way out of severe consequences and the lil guy she helped vouches for better treatment.

Yua keeps her promise to Machigai and a few weeks later she shows up in Nagoya again! Except this time in her fresh new outfit (it's literally the demon army uniform without the coat and like, 10% more sexy. slay.).

Some shenanigans later and she is now a frequent guest at Nagoya City Hall and everyone just kinda got used to her, especially since she often brings some juicy intel with her (and snacks for Machigai). Hell, even Ferid got aquianted with her and let her be because she's fun.

I honestly don't knew where to put this but anyways, Yua develops a massive crush on Horn. Yea
