my favorite beamony scene in the books was the one where beatrice was sitting on a small couch adjusting the straps of her sandals with one hand and munching on an apple with another and giving lemony advice about the party downstairs. yes the dedications are good yes the letters are excellent but i love that scene. B munching on the apple. B calling L mr snicket. B giving conversations advice. her idea of normal conversation being "which secret code you prefer" "who have you been spying on lately". i love this scene so much it feels me with unspeakable emotions. this captures something about them that's beyond the dedications and the letters and i love it so, so much. also considering netflix gave us beatrice and lemony on screen together they really should have had her call him mr snicket at least once on screen. for me.

The famous 'Beatrice Letter' is the most romantic thing I have ever read, and I've read quite a lot. It's my equivalent to "if I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more." (Emma) and "in another life I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you." (Everything Everywhere All At Once)

The way Lemony loves Beatrice is past the grave and into the afterlife; it consumes him.

Although it's hard to choose, my favourite line is "I will love you if you drop your raincoat on the floor instead of hanging it up and I will love you if you betray your father."

Six Snickets AU for the shipping meme?

Thanks for the ask 💛 Ok, so essentially I could use all the characters in Snicketverse and Ekaterina (Netflix! Kit), Clement(Netflix!Lemony) and Jacob Snicket (Netflix!Jacques) , but I’m gonna focus on the Six Snickets here.

lowkey otp: Moxie x Clement; Jacob x Ophelia (Netflix!Olivia)

highkey notp: all of the inc*st ships, obviously; Esme and Lemony; Olaf and Lemony; Esme x Olivia

“[softly] don’t” notp: Jacques (book!Jacques) with anyone, mostly because storytelling-wise I don’t see him devoting time to romantic relationships; Jacob (Netflix! Jacques)with anyone else but Ophelia (Netflix!Olivia); also kinda always all the pairings that I don’t ship are lowkey notp’s from, also Jacquelyn x Larry (like... just no)

highkey otp but i’m scared of saying it because it’s not a very popular choice: Kitlaf and Kit x Haruki; so the first one it’s probably not unpopular but kinda controversial? I don’t think that they are a good for each other, but I like Kit x Olaf in context of the storytelling; I like how it adds the drama and they have interesting dynamics; it’s good that they broke-up tho; I mean, in original universe I prefer eventual Kit x Dewey endgame, but in this AU Kat is with Dewey, so in Six Snickets AU I’d probably ship l Kit x Haruki (he’s mentioned in ATWQ and I have several heads ins for him already)

highkey otp and anyone on my tumblr knows it: Kat x Dewey! also Beatrice x Lemony, but I prefer Beatrice x Bertrand; like with Kitlaf, I ship Beamony as a part of a dramatic story and they’re just interesting; it’s good tho that Beatrice ended up with Bertrand; I also don’t exactly like “Lemony is Violet’s biological father” theory (my headcanon is that violet as very similar to Bertrand)

a thing i really like about lemony's letter to beatrice, his answer to question 9 - (a response to beatrice's questions in her 200 paged breakup letter) tells him he will love her, always, continuously, ....... and lists how he will love her, even as the world goes on its wicked ways, is all about how he will love her, focused on he and her. but he does not mention anything about not loving anyone, does not promise he will never love anyone else, and we can probably infer from this that she didn't ask that from him either. and i just, really like this.

I was just stalking through all of my old WIPs, and so here's a comprehensive list (that no one asked for) of all the ASOUE fanfictions I scrapped:

A character study on Quigley Quagmire, focusing on his upbringing, him being a 'problem child', him being diagnosed with ADHD and depression, etc.

A character study on Quigley experimenting with gender roles: a sort of 5 + 1 thing of them coming to terms with gender non-conformity

A Quiglet oneshot of Violet doing Quigley's makeup.

A character study/Quigley-centric fic that focused on his insomnia and how he'd already discovered the tunnel system under their house from his late-nights wandering the mansion

A Dunklaus post-canon fic where Klaus becomes a famous author under a nom de plume and Duncan stumbles across one of his books that is about him

Quiglet post-canon fic where the Baudelaires find Quigley after he failed to save his siblings

(Actually finished, just never posted it because it's rubbish) Dunklaus sorta reincarnation oneshot where Duncan works in a museum and Klaus is an immortal being who consistently is his muse in every lifetime. One of Duncan's favourite marble statues in the gallery was actually created by him, for Klaus, hundreds of years before but he doesn't remember until he sees Klaus again

Dunklaus oneshot where the whole group attended an actual boarding school. No olaf or anything. Just a wintery plot-less thing

(Also finished, also too shit to post) Modern Dunklaus one shot where Duncan runs a record store with his siblings and Klaus comes in one day. Literally just everyone teasing the two for 6k words straight. (favourite excerpt: '“So, why didn’t you ask him out?” Isadora asked, probably aiming for casual, except the way she was leaning on the wall like she was posing for an 80s boy band poster, and the way her voice was just a bit too high pitched, meant she wasn’t being very convincing.

Duncan gave her a flat look. “I have had two conversations with him,” he said, turning back to the receipt he was marking and ignoring the look she was giving him, which solidly said stop being purposefully obtuse.'

Post-canon Violet-centric Quiglet one shot. Just Violet reminiscing and moving on

Dunklaus AU where the Baudelaires are exchange students from France to Prufrock Prep. Extremely angsty and absolutely nothing happy happens. Just wanted to exercise the French Baudelaires headcanon

(Alot of this one was already written) Dunklaus AU where they're partnered up for a VFD mission

Quiglet magical AU where Quigley is a magical creature that lives in the woodland behind Monty's house where Violet and Klaus move after they're orphaned

Dunklaus and Quiglet (but not the main focus) - AU where the Baudelaires leave with Lemony after the fire at Hotel Denouement and become increasingly morally grey. When they reunite with the Quagmires a year later, they're practically unrecognisable from what fighting both against and with VFD has done to them

Violet and Klaus character study on how they deal with their grief; there was a little bit of Viodora and Duncan and some funny antics. The only WIP on this list entirely in French. Never posted it because there would be no interest and it didn't have a plot particularly

I'm pretty sure there are more that I just can't find or deleted but yeah...God there's a lot. These span over several years of being obsessed with asoue and ships in the fandom that I fell in love with that had (and still have) a painful lack of attention online, so I made my own content

He looks down into his own slowly-melting root beer float. He’s painfully aware of what this is - the corner table in the hotel lobby, the drinks from the diner down the street, the earrings Beatrice is wearing and the jazz music in her car - it’s a perfect imitation of her dates with Lemony. Beatrice knows it. Bertrand knows it. He had been thinking about it a lot, in the days since Beatrice had approached him. 

He had thought about it when she suggested the plan, when he had gotten dressed that morning, when he had sat down in her passenger seat and politely ignored her red eyes. He had specifically avoided the proper clothes Lemony preferred, settling instead on a short-sleeved shirt and lighter colors, but the socks he’s wearing are an old birthday gift from Lemony. Beatrice’s earrings are too, and it’s both odd and comforting to imagine Lemony haunting this date, sitting between them with his own root beer float in hand.
