Did this take me a million years to get it just right? Yes… but it needed to be perfect lol.

Mountain found it adorable when Swiss was being slightly over protective of him. Especially lately with the two new summons Phaeon and Aurora. Swiss didn’t mind the new ghoulette, she was short and sweet and reminded Swiss of his best friend Amara, just a tad bit shy-er. Phaeon was a different story. 

The lithe quint ghoul had a little bit of an attitude problem when it came to listening to Mountain who was the respective pack leader. Mountain knew it was because he was new and hasn’t found quite what his place is in the pack. He didn’t mind the attitude Phaeon gave him. Mountain found it amusing. Swiss however did not. 

After practice, Swiss was waiting for Mountain to walk out of the room when he heard Phaeon pipe up and speak. 

“Man, what do I gotta do to gain the type of attention you give dirt boy? How good is his dick? I bet it’s small, I could be a good boy for you Swiss. You could either fuck me or I could fuck you.” Phaeon stated, sliding up to press himself against Swiss. Mountain was leaning against the door frame, waiting to see what his partner would do. The multi ghoul lightly chuffed and pushed Phaeon away. 

“Mountain’s dick is probably larger than yours Phae. But that’s not why I'm with him. I'm with him since I love how he’s always taking care of everyone. He makes sure everyone’s needs are met, and I like when I can dote on him. I like his stupid crooked smile, and I like how his hair gets golden streaks in it when he’s been outside for too long. And most of all? Most of all he gives good hugs.” Swiss ranted. Phaeon grinned, looking over Swiss’ shoulders to see Mountain who had a dark green blush dusted around his tanned skin. 

“Alright Cheese Man. I hear ya loud and clear. Do you think at least one day I could do a scene with you two?” Phaeon giggled, fixing his hoodie, and fitted his hands in the pockets. 

Swiss blinked with a slight confused look on his face. 

“Uhh. We’ll talk about that later Bug, go bother Dewy if you want your dick wet.” Swiss replied. Phaeon let out a happy chirp and made his way back to the den. Swiss just shook his head and went to walk that way when he was pulled back into someone’s arm. Swiss let out a surprise trill as Mountain nosed at his neck, nibbling a bit at an old mark he had left. 

“You think I give good hugs hm?” The giant rumbled, head resting on Swiss’ shoulder. The multi ghoul laughed, leaning against his love.

“Yeah. You do. You’re a good pack leader and lover. Now let’s go snuggle in bed before the brat comes looking for us again.” Swiss purred out. Mountain detached himself from his partner, dragging him to their room.

“Hey, I think Phaeon is a cutie. Thank you for what you said back there by the way. It was something I definitely needed to hear today. Even if the little buggy wasn’t being too bad today. Thank you still lovebug. I love you.” Mountain cooed out as they settled in bed, Swiss being the bigger spoon this time. Swiss chuckled, pressing a kiss to Mountain’s neck. 

“Next time he mouths off though I'm telling him he’ll be ours for the night and we won’t be nice.” Swiss mumbled, his tail intertwining with Mountain’s.

Happy December 1st everyone!

Because it's totally December 1st, and not December 2nd because I was very tired and worn out yesterday and decided to delay the advent stuff a day! /s

Won’t someone think of the children?! A Dal R'El Appreciation Post

Okay, I meant to only do a Rok-Tahk appreciation post because a) she’s the best and b) who has the time to write all these blogposts? But I just can’t help myself. The community’s efforts to #SaveStarTrekProdigy have motivated me to keep the posts going, so here’s some more love for Star Trek: Prodigy. These installments probably won’t be as intense as the Rok post, but check out what makes Dal R'El such a great character.

Dal starts off as a terrible captain

The great thing about starting off a character with a lot of messed up personality flaws is that there’s that much room for them to grow. Like I said in Rok’s post: Perfect characters are boring. We saw a similar guided development in Julian Bashir in Deep Space Nine; he was downright unlikable early on until his relationships with other characters on the station gave him some foundation and his experience throughout the seasons provided the building blocks to becoming an ethical, respectable, and likable person. We’re seeing the same thing with Dal, whom we first see as a jerk for a lot of the show. He’s selfish. He’s clueless. He sees his crew members as things that do his bidding while he only does what’s best for him. You’re meant to hate his character. And that’s a good thing, because he’s not done cooking.

Dal comes clean to Janeway

One of the first really redeeming moments we see from Dal is when he first comes clean to Janeway about being Starfleet at the top of “Time Amok.” Damn, I just can’t say enough good things about that episode apparently. It provides so many learning moments for the characters, as you can see in spades in Rok’s plot in that episode as well. Dal could have continued the lie that they are cadets, but he’s growing. And out of some combination of frustration, guilt, and finally doing the right thing, he starts thinking of people other than himself. “Time Amok” is the perfect place for that first step in the right direction since it’s when the kids start acting like a crew themselves, way near the midseason break! Baby steps, Dal. He’s getting there.

Dal has inner demons

The longer character arc for Dal over the course of the season is his quest to find out who his people are. Being the only one of his kind is a huge weight for him to bear, and his loneliness guides his character for better or for worse (very frequently for worse, as mentioned above). He feels alone and so it’s fitting for his character to look out for only himself. It’s a long road to discovering his origins in “Masquerade,” an episode which expounds on his character isolation right when he was feeling like he might belong, and turning that character trait on its head by shifting it to his being an abomination. Dal is incredibly fragile, and it’s only through love from his friends that he starts to accept that he doesn’t need a family because he already has one in them. Sure, that’s a cutesy message, but it’s a kid’s show. Duh.

Dal goes fast

Okay, this one’s silly, but considering the whole Star Trek franchise has decided for some reason that all captains need a catchphrase and also a comical little metascene about them creating their catchphrase, Dal’s quote “Go fast” is probably my favorite. Okay, Captain Pike’s “Hit it” is pretty good too and always delivered excellently (that man can say anything and it’ll sound great), but there’s something innocent and sweet about “Go fast.” Dal is almost always out of his element when captaining the Protostar, and shows his naïveté by calling things childish names like the “pew pew button” and the “beamy part,” and it’s all a nice little giggle because he’s a kid. “Go fast” is the sort of silly that’s appropriate for his character, who is faking it until he makes it. And boy does he make it! Go Dal! 

We love you, Dal! We love the other crew members of the Protostar too! We love Star Trek: Prodigy! I know I can speak for not only the other hosts here at A Star to Steer Hey By but for myriad other fans when I seriously hope someone picks up this wonder of a show. I understand your hidden agony which was stored deep inside the fluffy white clouds for a long long time.

but now, the fluffy white clouds which beamed with brightness look quite grey, gloomy, and sullen.

your screams of anguish are scaring us in the form of lightning thunderstorms, and children are unable to sleep tonight as they are clutching their ears in fear while the mothers are trying to soothe them, muttering angry curses around their breaths for you to stop your tantrums.

how much pain have you kept inside you that one starry clear night, you suddenly decide to break down into a messy pitter-patter of your tears down and the jarring harsh blow of winds?

is it too much for you to handle that you didn't stop downpouring for hours now? your saline liquid drops on the cold marble floor turning my grey tiles in coal black and I look up into the saddened sky with pure concern for you.

did the sun make fun of your nature once again? because people favored him to arise his bright and beamy lights desperately and wished you would disappear into your own silence like you always did.

did the moon roll her eyes on you in pride once again? because they seem to prefer her to stay in the night sky for long hours, embracing her calming beauty but when you start to pour your crystal drops down the sky, in a hurry and harshly, they seem to shut down their windows and close their doors tightly.

or did the baby stars get scared of your arrival and hide behind their mother moon once again? oh no, my rain... you seem to scare off their twinkly tiny existence once again!

but now.

It's okay, I am here to embrace your beauty like no others will.

I am here to dance and play with your tunes of gentle rains as they would reach my ears and fingertips.

I am here to calm you down with my small whispers whenever you threw your tantrums again.

let me laugh with happiness when your liquid pours down my body and face.

let me feel my heart race whenever my window shows a glimpse of your utmost serene beauty.

just so know that,

without your existence, our existence would've been meaningless, people would get tired of the sun's beamy nature and wish it rose down, its bright light would blind their eyes quite quickly.

the people would get tired of the moon's everlasting beauty, it would bore their eyes and wish it quickly stopped shining its glow as it made them sigh.

if they saw her every day, her beauty would be common and their eyes wouldn't sparkle with her glow anymore.

even though, the poets romanticized her nature, no one did to yours more than hers.

that's why,

this is my love letter to you, my dear Rain.

when you calm your storms down, make sure to give people a nice calmful drizzle of rain instead of your harsh downpours because they deserve it after a day of hard work and stress.

when you calm down your heart-wrenching cry for help, make sure to pick up my letter through your windy friends and read it before you disappear into the beamy bright sun or glowing moonlight again.

after that, give me a huge smile! like the brightest one the sun has ever given, like the prettiest one the moon can never attempt, the warmest one so that the stars run back to you with giddy.

come on! you know you don't look bad at all when you stretch your lips into a smile so give me a nice genuine one from the sky!

it is also hard not to notice the different pairs of slippers scattered along the wooden floor of the entry hall however, you have grown so familiar with the sight that you would have paid no mind to it if it weren’t for you tripping over one of the long forgotten pairs of fuzzy slippers. what otherwise would have looked like slouchiness only made the place feel more inviting. you have grown acquainted with the chaos, learned to embrace even, it’s familiarity never failed to put you at ease - in the end, everything was just on it’s right place.

atsumu is clumsier than he looks. he whined about how every new set of slippers he bought would go missing within a week, only for him to purchase a new set and for you to find the previous lost pair somewhere under a piece of furniture which resulted in the eclectic collection of slippers he owns to this day.

“you never know” he would answer adamantly, with his brows raised in mock defiance. how naive, desperate times require desperate measures, you suppose.

a small giggle erupts from your chest capturing atsumu’s attention, his head snapping in your direction as his lips almost instantly stretch into bright smile - it was his body’s intuitive reaction whenever he laid eyes on you. atsumu calls out for you, dragging on the last syllable of your name in enthusiasm and you can’t help the grin, albeit weak, that crawls its way up to your lips. he could always steal a smile from you, no matter how tired you were.

upon noticing the clear exhaustion on your features, his broad smile morphs into a sympathetic pout as he tosses the remote on the cushions next to him, stretching his arms wide open for you, inviting you in with a quiet “get over here”

you drag yourself to the the checkered sofa where atsumu is sitting, awaiting you, to gladly accept his offer. and just like magnetic attraction, your body falls limp into his embrace, finding solace in his arms as you slump down on his lap with a relieved sob.

“yes, i had a rough day and you’re not making it any better, ‘tsumu” you spit the words out, although you reckon your tone was sorta harsh you are fuming at this point. on days like this, where it almost feels like it is your body’s basic need to feel him close to you, there is nothing you wouldn’t do for a kiss of his and he truly wasn’t helping you feel any better. two could play this game but you don’t even have the strength to put up a fight and taunt him back, wishing he would just give in to you as easily as you give in to him.

Hiii this is a LATE AS FUCK bday present to my darling @littlemoon-beam! I hope you enjoy this present a lot! Its Rain/poly pack BUT with a focus (..ish) on MountRain.

Everyone knew it was Rain’ summoning day and they all agreed that they’d let him rest and be pampered. Mountain made sure that everyone knew what to do so their Water Ghoul had a good summoning day and that nothing went awry.

Dew and Mountain along with Aurora shut off Rain’s 4am alarm and did all of his chores in the gardens and greenhouses, since Rain usually helped Mountain out via using his water powers. Primo enjoyed seeing the older two ghouls helping Aurora with her earth and water powers;his old heart was happy that they took the short ghoulette under their wings. Wordlessly, Primo handed Mountain a wrapped box for him to give to Rain. Mountain slowly blinked before bowing his head as a thank you and watched Primo walk away with a Sibling of Sin assisting him. Dew thought it was Dahlia but Mountain shook their head no.

“Not our lovely Dahlia, that was Chrysanthemum.” Mountain chirped, swinging theirs and Aurora’s hand slightly.

“Pretty name.” Aurora whispered, staring after the Sibling of Sin in awe as the trio made their way back to the den. Dew playfully nudged Rora and teased her a bit, which earned them a teasing tail smack from Mountain.

“Behave Dewdrop.” Mountain warned, placing Rain’s gift on the table that had a large pile of gifts on it.

“Im always a good ghoul.” Dew pouted playfully, reaching around to squeeze Mountain’s ass.

Said Earth ghoul let out a small yip and low rumble.

“Go distract Rain if you’re going to cause trouble!” Mountain huffed, trying to hide his smile. Dew stuck their tongue out and dragged Aurora to the living room, the ghoulette giggling away at the fire ghouls' antics.

Mountain let out a content sigh before checking the food and the cake. Aether and Swiss made Rain his favorite black forest cherry cake. Mountain stopped to give his partners quick kisses as they got everything set up. He was excited for Rain to be surprised with everything, Mountain had a few things he wanted to surprise his water ghoul with after the celebrations but first, he needed to change. Mountain quickly showered and shaved his legs and everything, drying as fast as he could so he could slip into the tight skirt he bought and a sheer top and made his way to Rain’s room.

When he walked in, it was a sight to behold; letting out a small chirp Mountain grinned and padded his way next to the ghoulettes and Rain.

Cirrus and Cumulus and Sunny, were there on Rain’s bed giving their partner a well deserved massage as the giant let out pleased chuffs and churrs. They greeted their favorite Earth ghoul with trills and chaste kisses, Rain moving his face from his pile of pillows, dopey smile lit across his face.

“Hi darling, how are you feeling?” Mountain asked, hands trailing softly against Rain’s cheek. The smaller ghoul purred, rubbing his chin against Mountain’s cool hand before replying.

“Good. Relaxed. The girls have magic hands I swear.” Rain slurred out. The room filled with giggles behind them, Sunny settling herself on Rain’s back.

“Magic hands huh big guy?” She asked, nuzzling against his neck. He hummed and nodded.

“Mmmmhmmm.” Rain purred out, tail lazily flicking back and forth. Sunny’s hands felt nice against his shoulders. Rain would have to thank her and the girls for all the pampering by giving them a card to a spa. They deserved it.

Eventually they left, leaving a very relaxed and floaty Rain slumped against Mountain purring away.

“Feeling good Amore?” Mountain whispered, his thumb swiping against Rain’s bottom lip. Rain took the liberty of licking at said thumb and nodding.

“Did you get all dolled up for me Daddy?” Rain asked, eyeing Mountain’s short skirt and sheer top, his cool hands wandering up Mountain’s thighs.

Mountain let out a small chuff and tugged lightly on Rain’s hair earning a keen and a moan.

Letting out a small rumble Mountain once more tugged at Rain’s hair.

“Thank you Angel.” Rain whispered, nipping at Dew’s jaw. Dew just purred and wagged his tail in response.

It went on for an hour, then they all turned to eating cake and chattering away until Mountain and Dew dragged the birthday boy away to ravish and spoil him even more throughout the night.
