If a dog is not able to understand something you are teaching them (whether it's because you're moving too fast, your communication needs works, you aren't breaking what you're teaching down enough, whatever) and you correct them for making a mistake during that learning process they are also not going to understand why they are being corrected. You will only be adding stress to an already stressful situation.

Why develop a system of design languages?
Candidates who complete graphic design courses after 12th can work in a variety of industries, including animation, fashion, interior design, and others. These industries are in their early stages of development and are likely to generate more job opportunities.
 Consistency
When users interact with consistent designs as opposed to fragmented ones, they have a more enjoyable experience. For small teams and projects, creating consistent content interfaces isn't a big problem, but as they both expand, it gets harder to deliver. To address this problem and aid in the development and holistic scaling of projects, product teams introduce design language.
 Authenticity and brand identity
A company's or a product's brand is how consumers view it. Since authenticity helps a product stand out from the competition, design language is one of the strongest ties a designer can use for successful branding. Personality and memorability are created by distinctive visual design choices. Take Google Doodles, a genuine design choice that has helped the brand become instantly recognisable.
 Efficacy and price
Product teams can quickly iterate on product designs without sacrificing quality when a visual design language is in place. It provides designers with a clear set of guidelines to follow when applying styling to their designs as well as well-defined, reusable components.
How to create and use a system for design languages
A great design language rarely arises by accident, like all great things. It is the end result of extensive and diligent work. The five guidelines listed below will make developing a visual language more effective.
   1: Perform a UI audit
Duplication of design elements results in fragmentation, and inconsistency results from fragmentation. A team can avoid the situation in which they create an element from scratch only to discover later that a similar element already exists by spotting duplication. That's why a UI audit should come first when developing a visual design language.
To gain a clear understanding of the colours, fonts, and shapes currently being used in your product, you should conduct a UI audit. This process is fairly straightforward: Take screenshots of each element that makes up your product, then group them according to their category. You should have a well-organized collection of components at the conclusion of the UI audit, highlighting any inconsistencies in your design.
Obtaining any brand guidelines from stakeholders is also important. You can use these to better comprehend the branding of the company as a whole.
2: Develop a vocabulary for your design language
Design language begins with a dictionary that defines visual units and their meanings, just as spoken language does with words and their definitions. Reusable visual units should be defined precisely in this dictionary. A style guide and pattern library should be included in your visual design language dictionary. Pattern libraries are reusable building blocks that can be categorised and grouped.
It can be difficult to map design elements with a clear purpose and meaning, but it is possible to assess the meaning of each element through the lens of communication. Designer Nate Baldwin suggests the following sentence structure to help you recognise, explain, and convey the meaning of each unit:
Every time you evaluate a visual unit, use this method. Saying "The striking red used in the sign-up form error message helps to communicate the importance of this message for users," for instance, when choosing a colour for an error message.
  3: Develop overarching design principles
What exactly constitutes good design? How can you tell when a product is prepared for shipping? Designers frequently rely on their own set of standards when assessing the calibre of a design. However, as a team expands, adopting such a strategy can cause significant chaos in the product design process because each designer will have their own unique set of ideals.
Design principles can come to the rescue in this situation. Design principles outline the fundamental but necessary rules that every designer must adhere to when working on a specific product. They serve as a resource that makes decision-making easier. (Read more about this in detail in Magera Moon's article, "Creating Etsy's Design Principles.")
When working on design principles, it's the ideal time to consider how to express personality or purpose in your work. For instance, Direction Over Choice is one of the design tenets of Medium, a well-liked blogging platform. The following summary is provided by the Medium team: "We frequently referred to this principle when creating the medium editor. We deliberately exchanged layout, type, and colour preferences for direction. We preferred direction because we wanted people to concentrate on writing rather than be sidetracked by choice.
4: Make rules and follow them.
A design language also has rules that allow product developers to communicate with their users, just like any spoken language has rules that allow one human to speak to another.
These regulations are meant to impose limitations on designers. The word "constraints" typically carries a negative connotation because it suggests that creativity is being restricted, but rules help designers work more effectively. Product teams prevent team members from producing poor UX by establishing clear rules. You can distinguish between two categories of rules:
Rules that are strict should be adhered to precisely. As an illustration, "Red with this hex code should only be used for error messages. This colour should not be used in any other areas of the user interface.
Designers are advised to ignore loose rules in order to improve the utility of the page or the brand feel. As an illustration, "Try to use brand colours for functional elements of your UI when possible."
It's crucial to follow the rules once a product team has established an accepted set of guidelines for a design language. Consistency is the biggest mistake made when creating a visual design language, and it occurs when team members don't adhere to rules. The process of a design review, in which designers confirm the design adheres to the rules, should be introduced by UX managers.
5: Consider the visual language to be a living thing.
As cultural influences shape and have an impact on spoken languages, they tend to change over time. Visual languages are identical in every way. Every day, new trends emerge, and major corporations like Google and Apple frequently update their design standards to keep their products looking modern.
A visual language should instead be an evolving ecosystem that develops alongside a product rather than a set of rigid rules. And this ecosystem ought to be flexible enough to adapt to changes. Learn about current trends in order to create a design language system, and try to incorporate the most beneficial changes into your language.
 Conclusion
It takes time to develop an appealing and understandable design language. It's likely that you won't have a strong visual language from the start, and that's okay. It's crucial to take the time to lay a strong foundation for the language and make sure that it develops and grows along with your team.

How to Spot a Quality Artwork Contractor
I experience been a piece of art contractor for 26 years and during that time period I have noticed more than one unique reason why customer pick a cheaper painter. On the other hand, I need also had several calls from regretful homeowners who realize they made some sort of huge error. Various wish they had basically paid more for quality contractors. Nevertheless others are apologies they did not necessarily take a look at a service provider before deciding in order to hire them. What I have seen in my years as a painting contractor is the fact many homeowners simply do not know how in order to assess the abilities of painting companies. Most will search for your cheapest bet not realizing that they will most likely not get their money's worth. The truth is an affordable contractor can often cost you additional money in the end. Work and materials are at such a higher price that the artwork contractor's profits usually are already slim. For that reason, a cheap builder is offering slashed prices for a reason. That explanation is generally weak service or cost. Use the adhering to 10 conditions in order to check out Marietta contractors before you hire them. Question around and find out exactly how long the company has been working locally. Really to see instability in this field. Too several painting contractors will blow into community and do shoddy do the job for some three years, and then they begin to have the wrath of homeowner who will be not satisfied with their work and they pack it upwards and move to the next city. In the event the contractor you are considering has, in least 10 many years in the area this is usually a good indication of stability, not to mention high quality. How are typically the painters on your own contractors crew paid? When I commenced my painting company in 1982, Painting Contractor  We originally paid our crew by typically the hour. For concerning 7 years, I was less than happy with performance so I made a decision to change in order to a percentage centered pay system. Quality of the artists work went way up significantly and typically the projects were obtaining completer in half the time. Instantly my painters had a better mindset when they knew these people would be paid out on percentage. Their interests were now directly tied in order to the quality and timeliness with the job. Excellent performance led to be able to less double checking at the conclusion of a project and a better important thing for everyone involved. When you need to be able to ask this query of your service provider, it is only an advised method of business. Now there are a good number of artists that have an excellent work ethic and even are paid simply by the hour. Following my success, My partner and i determined I would likely never again shell out a painter by simply the hour. I actually can now give my customers a higher quality of service and many involving it is a consequence of to paying my personal painters on proportion. What kind regarding contract is your own contractor offering you to be able to sign? Is it placed out well plus specific about just what the contractor may be responsible for? This kind of will tell a person immediately what a person can expect from the crew. Contractors which are organized will most of the time instill this in their crew and on the job. Disorganization will be something an structured person just can not tolerate in individuals or work web sites. Are you dealing with a contractor who is seeking a deposit before they commence? Even though plenty of projects can always be quite intensive, the typical painting contractor job will not become more than $8000. For jobs similar to this, I highly advise you never pay the deposit. Your art work contractor should have no troubles financing the project he is contemplating. If he does that is a great indication that the builder is not monetarily stable. When some sort of contractor is waiting around to become paid, an individual are likely in order to have his complete focus on detail in addition to a guarantee that your happiness may be the amount one goal. Through the years, I have read many stories from homeowners who paid a deposit and then simply watched as being the service provider left with only a day or a couple of worth of becoming done, never in order to be seen again. Since the first working day you contacted typically the contractor how effectively has he disseminated with you? Features he quickly clarified all of your current questions or concerns? Quality professional technicians value good communication. The importance a service provider puts on communication might give you one other clue to his core values. Whilst your project is being completed, you will want to work with somebody who communicates effectively. Does the contractor carry worker's comp insurance? Check into this as many companies carry several form of the liability insurance but this is not a replacement with regard to worker's compensation. A new simple liability plan will not include a worker should they be injured on the job. You should consider how well the contractor is covering his painters in opposition to injury. Many installers have labor of which is off the particular books, in some other words the painter is paid funds money with no paper trail. In cases like this, there is not any employment record an insurance company can follow or pay out upon in case regarding injury. Situations like this could put you in serious financial peril. Answers to these types of questions give a person a look directly into many core ideals that rule particular Marietta painting contractors. Consult with the provider's insurance company to verify their level of coverage. Check the particular contractor's prior task references. You be aware of that all the particular references will be what they feel are the best, however you can still learn a lot from. You could get a sense for how well they cleaned upward, communicated, timeliness associated with the project and more importantly the way the finished product viewed. Bear in mind though that people each have opinions about what quality is and you should not base your choice on references only. Watch out with regard to the aggressive painting contractors who will be volume oriented. Their complete goal would be to convert out as a lot of finished houses because possible in a brief amount of moment to earn fast money. The standard of their own work are not influenced by any kind of key values. You and your residence will suffer as a result of this type of contractor. Make certain that the contractor is completely clear my own staying a walk through with the head crew member and yourself to look with regard to areas that want tidied up or mended. This must get place before a person write any checks for your project. This particular protects both you and the service provider from issues later on. This walk by way of insures that a person are pleased with typically the work and allows to minimize or perhaps eliminate warranty concerns for the piece of art contractor, saving the business both time and money. This is the greatest approach for covering up a job and seasoned contractors that are concerned in relation to customer service know about this. You may well have already thought of the using items as these people are a bit more obvious: okay written and comprehensive warranty, how a lot of crews do that they have, can you verify business age, complaints that remain unsettled with typically the Better Business Agency and also a business permit are generally very {important|essential|crucial|significant. Hey, writer folks, let's talk editing for a minute.
Lately I've seen some posts by a number of writers concerned about the editing process. In particular, what happens when your editor starts trampling your voice? Or when they start changing things that are clearly a matter of taste, not structural or grammatical issues? Or when their comments are rude or condescending? Or when you don't even recognize your own book anymore, and not in a good way?
Basically, what happens when you get your manuscript back from your editor, and you get that sick feeling in your stomach like "This is ruined"?
First, right off the bat, without even getting into whether the editor is right or wrong, it's a perfectly natural and acceptable reaction when you have some hardcore edits that involve massive revisions. This is especially true early in your career, but trust me, it doesn't magically go away. It's tough on the ego to see that manuscript you worked so hard on come back slathered in red. It's demoralizing. And it's okay if you feel that way!
You know what I do when I get a set of edits? I go through it one time and let my inner toddler go nuts. I mentally flail and push back and holler and roll my eyes and "oh my GOD that is BULLSHIT" and I eat a cookie. Then I put the manuscript aside. The next day, I take a deep breath and go through it again, and more often than not -- especially now that I'm mostly indie and I hire editors who I mesh with -- the comments and changes aren't so bad after all. So I 100% give you permission to do that if getting it out of your system helps.
THAT BEING SAID.
The inner toddler isn't always wrong. When I read through it the second time, if my eyebrows keep climbing until they touch my hairline, it's possible that something is amiss here besides my ego needing a nap.
So what happens when you and your editor disagree? How do you know if the problem is the editor or the manuscript? And how do you handle it? Well, that can be tough, and the answer usually comes down to communication.
But let me say this upfront: it's not just you. After 11 years in print, I'm creeping up on 200 titles in my catalogue. I have, shall we say, extensive experience with editors, and it hasn't always been good.
With one publisher, I had to hire a copy editor on my own to go through and undo all the errors *their* copy editor inserted, not to mention fix all the ones they'd missed.  That's a pretty objective problem.  If your editor is missing mistakes or ADDING mistakes, then you need a new editor. Period. Do NOT be afraid to go to your senior editor (or your agent), tell them what the problem is, and request someone new. If the problem isn't resolved or you're told "this editor does a perfectly good job," then consider that a sign that you and the publisher have differing standards on quality. You might have to grit your teeth through the process on your currently contracted book(s) (that's why I hired an outside editor for mine), but consider not submitting to that publisher in the future. If you're an indie author who hired your own editor, you can fortunately choose not to use them again.
Sometimes it's a personality clash or a difference in taste or style. Maybe the editor's method of communicating rubs you the wrong way. I had an editor who thought that since I'm fairly sarcastic with a dry sense of humor most of the time, that would be an effective way of communicating via comments in a manuscript.
Spoiler: it was not. I have a thick skin when it comes to writing, but if I feel like my editor is making fun of me, talking down to me, or yelling at me, I shut down. I can't work like that. Solution: ask the editor to do things differently or ask for another editor. DO NOT grin and bear it if your editor is communicating in a way that's hurtful or counterproductive. You're equal partners here, and you have a right to be treated with respect. It's okay to say so if you feel that's not happening.
I also had an editor who did line edits by making the change they wanted to see rather than putting in a comment about how and why they thought it should change. I really liked that because in comparing my original to the tracked change, I could see what they were getting at, and even if I didn't accept their change in its entirety, it was a good way to communicate the issue to me. For us, it worked really well.
But that approach had the opposite effect on another author, who felt like the editor was stomping on their voice and just changing things willy nilly.  Neither of us was wrong, it was just different people responding to different means of communication. In that instance, simply approach the editor, explain why you would prefer they made comments instead of changes, and see what happens. If they're willing to do so, great! If not, you and the editor might not be compatible. That doesn't make you a diva or them a bad editor, it just means you're not a good match. That's okay!
Also, if they've made a suggestion or recommended a change, and you disagree with it or don't understand it, sometimes just typing out your concerns in an email or a reply to their comment can resolve it. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the middle of explaining to an editor why I wanted to keep something the way it was, and I talked myself right into a solution to their comment that I was happy with. The solution wasn't always what they'd initially recommended, but the result was that the problem they'd pointed out was fixed.
Which is another thing to keep in mind: if your editor suggests you do X to fix a problem, but you don't like X, think about WHY they want you to do it. What is X fixing? One of my editors told me "There isn't enough tension in this scene, so I recommend cutting it by 10% to tighten it up." I tried. Lord, I tried. But there was no way I could cut anything without losing vital information. So I revisited the comment. The problem wasn't that it needed to lose 10%. The problem was there wasn't enough tension. In the end, I ratcheted up the tension....by *adding* 10%.
So sometimes it's just a matter of stepping back and asking yourself, is this editor stomping all over your voice and tearing apart your work in a way you disagree with? Or is it a difference in communication style? Are they trying to hijack my book? Or does their suggestion illustrate a problem which I can fix in a way that is more satisfying to me and more in line with my story?
Also, a lot of writers have come of age hearing that you toe the line and do what your editor tells you to, or else you'll get blacklisted for being difficult. And to some extent, sure, you CAN cultivate a reputation for being an unreasonable diva, but there is an enormous gap between diva status and being a professional asking to be treated accordingly. If you feel your editor is being rude or they're hurting your story, say so. If you think there's a lapse in communication somewhere, say so.
If you don't understand something, ask. When my current editor makes suggestions for significant changes, it's not unusual at all for me to email her first and say "I'm thinking of doing X, Y, and Z to fix A, B, and C. What do you think?" Or "You suggested A, B, and C, but I think if I do X, Y, and Z it'll work better because... What do you think?" And we'll go back and forth a little before I ever touch the manuscript. It works beautifully, and I'm always confident going into the edits that I understand what the issues are and how to fix them. You're not alone when you're editing! Your editor is there to help you and to work with you, and if they won't do that, they're not doing their job!
Seeing a pattern here? Communication is crucial. If you aren't comfortable with something, or you don't understand something, or the way the editor is communicating isn't working for you, it's okay to speak up. It goes without saying that you need to be professional about it, but don't buy into the idea that for authors, "being professional" means gritting your teeth and taking whatever your editor shells out.
And yes, if you absolutely cannot work with an editor -- if just thinking about looking at that manuscript spikes your anxiety like a tornado siren just went off because the comments are rude, the changes are uncalled for, or something is just OFF -- it is acceptable to say "This author-editor relationship isn't working for me."
Yes, you can break up with your editor.
Obviously that's easiest for indie authors. We just...don't hire that editor again. With publishers, it's a little more complicated, but it CAN be done!
In just over a decade, there has been one occasion where I stopped midway through the edits, emailed the senior editor, and said "I'm not working with this person anymore. I want a new editor." This came after a round of edits left me so emotionally wrung out and beaten down that I was literally in tears over it, and if you know me, you know that says A LOT. The first draft of my email basically said "You know what? This book is obviously garbage. Let's just cancel it." I felt that bad about the whole thing. But after talking to some industry friends, I pulled myself together, realized the book was not the problem, and I sent a firmly-worded but still professional email to my senior editor.
You know what happened? I got a new editor. We scrapped the existing edits, started over, and it was like night and day. The edits were still intense, but they were reasonable, and instead of feeling like I was being told to nuke the book from orbit and start over, I felt like I was course correcting. In the end, readers loved the book, and I continued working with that editor for a long time because we meshed so flawlessly.
If you find yourself in a situation like this, and you're not sure if it's just you, run it by some trusted writer buddies. Ask some long-published veteran authors. It's okay to say "Something about this doesn't feel right -- what do you think?"
Don't suffer in silence! Get feedback from a third party. Talk to your editor. Talk to your senior editor or your agent if you have them. It could be just a simple miscommunication. It could be that you and this editor aren't compatible. But if no one knows you're struggling, they can't help.
And honestly, if there's one thing I've learned in working with literally dozens of editors over the years, it's that most of them genuinely do want you to succeed, and they want you to be happy with your book. If they do, they'll also meet you in the middle and try to make the whole process work for both of you. If they don't, well, then that's somebody you probably don't want to work with again if you can help it.
To recap:
Talk to your editor if you have concerns or if something isn't working.
Talk to your senior editor or agent (if you have them) if you think a new editor would be the best solution.
If you're truly unhappy with an editor, you might be stuck with them for the duration of one book or series, depending on your contract, but beyond contractual obligations, it's okay to choose not to work with them again. (And if it's really not a good situation, push for a different editor.)
If an author and editor disagree, the author is not wrong by default. Neither is the editor.
Communicate, communicate, communicate.
Remember that you are colleagues, and you should expect to be treated accordingly.
Sometimes calmly explaining to your editor why you disagree with or don't understand their comment can lead your thought process right to the solution.
It's YOUR book. In the end, YOU should be happy with it. Your editor should be on your side.
You are not obligated to correct a problem in the manner your editor suggested. Most problems have multiple possible solutions!
It's totally okay to email your editor and ask for clarification, bounce ideas off them for solutions, etc.
So go forth and bravely tackle those edits, but communicate like whoa and trust your gut if something doesn't feel right!

Decentralization Some data on the blockchain will not be stored in one location. In most cases, the blockchain is duplicated and spread across computer networks. When each new block is added to the blockchain, each computer updates its blockchain to reflect the transition.
Secure Transactions Once a transaction is recorded, the blockchain network must check its legitimacy. Thousands of blockchain computer systems secure to ensure that the order's
the data is correct. After the engine validates the contract, it is added to the blockchain block

Let's Know About Smart Contracts and ICOs
Smart Contract
Before knowing about   DhabiCoin's  Smart Contracts, you should have a clear idea of Smart Contracts. Smart Contracts are important programs that are recorded on the blockchain and executed when certain criteria are met. They are usually used to speed up contract execution so that all parties involved are confident of the outcome without needing a mediator or wasting time. They can also control a process, triggering the next phase once certain conditions are met. Common 'if/when' lines are included in blockchain code to execute smart contracts. Once the predefined conditions have been met and validated, the action is performed by the network. When the transaction is complete, the blockchain is refreshed. This means that the exchange is immutable and only those who are allowed to see the results can see it.
ICO
Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is a type of digital currency that businesses use to raise funds. Investors earn unique digital currency “tokens” in return for their financial investments through the ICO business platform. It is a type of crowdfunding where digital tokens are created and sold to raise funds for project development. These tokens act as a form of money, allowing investors to access certain aspects of the company's approved projects. This coin is unusual in that it contributes to the funding of the project that makes the software accessible. It will not be easy to fund this through standard methods. The protocol of the Dhabi Coin Token (DBC), which is based on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) smart contract, is compatible with several encrypted wallet applications, including Trust Wallet, Metamask, and MyEtherWallet,

Why Dhabicoin chooses Initial Coin Offering (ICO) Fundraising
Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) are usually a popular fundraising method used primarily by startups looking to offer products and services, usually related to the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
📷
ICOs are similar to stocks, but sometimes have utility for the services the software program or product offers. When a cryptocurrency startup wants to raise money through an ICO, it usually creates a whitepaper outlining the project, the needs the project will meet upon completion, how much money is needed, how many virtual tokens the founder will keep, what kind of money will be accepted, and how much. how long the ICO campaign will run.
During the ICO campaign, fanatics and project supporters buy some project tokens with fiat or digital currency. These coins are referred to by buyers as tokens and are comparable to the shares of the organization sold to investors during the IPO.
Dhabicoin infrastructure and security
Any online service that is responsible for handling user funds has a responsibility to be as secure as possible. In recent years, security breaches have become widespread, leading to the loss of funds from exchange users and millions of cryptocurrency-related services.
The DHABICOIN network was designed from the start with security in mind. For this, they adopt practices such as:
• The use of technology that is always updated;
Hiring external security consultants during development;
• Employ vulnerability testing services through third party consulting; I Global CDN for anti-DDoS
protection. Choose the best hosting partner based on security and certification; I comply with security standards like ISO 27001, PCI DSS, etc.
Multi-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a requirement for users who have funds on the network since, without at least a second authentication factor; online account security is greatly reduced.
📷
The second recommended authentication factor is through a security code generated by a mobile app, such as Google Authenticator.
Apart from these factors, other factors can be configured in the account, such as PIN (personal identification number) requirements and also confirmed via email. Enabling all these factors, we have an intruder-proof account and complete security in withdrawals, payments, or e  v  en purchase and sales orders in the opening exchanges.
Self development
Network development is carried out internally, together with his team. This way of working ensures security, agility in updating the platform and solving problems.
It also ensures the future of the platform is controlled, both by   DHABICOIN   and its users, as internal development provides flexibility to direct the project according to the needs of the community.
Technical support structure
The optimized support structure, using modern tools and aligned with the SAC 2.0 concept will ensure that user doubts will be cleared in the most effective way possible in the shortest possible time.
In addition to traditional channels, online support channels in real-time via chat available   24/7 /  365. With this channel, users talk to a real person, not a robot, and technical problems they solved in a matter of minutes.

Dhabicoin provides a friendly and secure digital currency service, thereby bringing more people into the new cryptocurrency economy and offering innovation to those already using it. It has high Scale, Fast transactions, Wallets across multiple systems, Immutable smart agreements, and protected network insurance protocol features on its platform. So, it is the most convenient platform where you get all the benefits and rewards together.

How to Navigate the World of Online ESL
Tumblr media
Written by Gina Gainous
The purpose of this article is to share detailed information about the most popular online ESL companies, along with some of my personal experiences and anecdotes from other teachers I’ve come across in Facebooks groups and teaching blogs. Before we get started, I’ll give a small self introduction. I’m a biracial woman from the United States with a Bachelor’s Degree in English as a Second Language Education (K-12) and my TESOL certificate. I worked in various schools in my hometown and abroad for the first two years of my career. Nowadays, I work 100% remotely for a company called Liulishuo based in Beijing, China. To begin, I’ll cover some of the basics.
Peak Hours If the company is based in China, they will expect you to work peak hours:
6-9 PM Monday through Friday, Beijing Standard Time
9AM-10PM Saturday and Sunday, Beijing Standard Time
Depending on where you reside, this might mean working early mornings. Currently, I reside on the west coast, and I typically teach from 5AM-8AM on weekdays. Make sure to calculate the time difference before applying. These hours aren’t for everyone, especially if you’re not a morning person. Companies based outside of China will offer afternoon and evening classes, but since they’re smaller you may not get that many bookings. The pay is usually lower as well.
Students Children: Most companies you’ll come across only offer classes with children, who are usually between the ages of 5-14. You may have the option of only teaching older children in middle and high school, but if you’re open to younger students you’ll have many more options. Adults: Some companies offer adult classes, if you’re not interested in teaching children. However, the pay is usually lower.
Salary Scale Base pay: This is the rate of pay you’re guaranteed. Most Chinese companies start their base pay between $15-$18. Companies located in other countries, like Russia or Spain, will have a much lower base pay (between $9-13 per hour) and usually won’t offer any bonus pay. Bonus pay: This is what you’ll see in most advertisements - “Up to $22.00 per hour!” - and depends on a number of factors. Some companies will give you a booking bonus or an attendance bonus. For example, if you teach 100 or so more classes a month, they’ll pay you an additional $2.00 per hour. They may also pay a $2.00 bonus if you open slots during peak hours. So if your base pay is $18, adding the extra $4 will bring your total pay to $22.00/hour. Buyout pay: Very few companies offer this pay structure, but if you’re lucky you might be able to score a contract. Basically, the company will pay you just for keeping your slots open, even if they aren’t booked. Sometimes it’s just a portion, sometimes it’s the whole salary. However, this usually means base pay is fairly low and they may not offer additional bonus pay. In the past, Gogo Kid and DaDaABC used to offer this as a perk, but to my knowledge they changed their contracts last year. Current teachers have confirmed this in 2020.
Payment Methods Bank transfer: This is the method I recommend the most, if the company provides it as an option. There are less fees with bank transfer and they are deposited directly into your account on payday. Paypal: The most popular method of payment. Usually involves both a conversion fee and an instant transfer fee, which add up after a while.
Class Types: Private classes (1 to 1): Teachers instruct one student. These are usually 25 minutes long. Some companies, such as SayABC, have 40 or 50 minute long classes. Small group classes (between 3-4 students): Teachers instruct a small group of students. Again, these classes are usually 25 minutes long. Larger group classes (6 or more students): Some companies offer larger group classes. In this case, they’ll expect you to stand up and will project your webcam in a classroom. These classes usually require a teacher’s assistant who is actually present in the room to help with classroom management.
Important things to note: 1. A lot of companies will provide the lessons for you, but they’ll expect you to have your own class materials. Things like whiteboards, markers, letter cut outs, puppets, dolls, toys, models, and more. Keep in mind, teachers can only write off $100 from their taxes if they pay for materials out of pocket, so be careful of your budget. 2. A revolving door is oftentimes a red flag. If you notice that a specific company is always hiring or posting ads, that’s not a good sign. It either means they have too many teachers and not enough students so booking slots stay empty, or that their teachers are constantly quitting. Which leads me to my next point... 3. Many online teachers have turned to recruiting. As recruiters, their companies will pay them a bonus based on how many people were hired after using their affiliate link to apply, and if those applicants teach enough classes. They are responsible for helping their recruits through the interview process, giving them advice for how to pass the assessments, and getting them familiar with the software. However, be wary of this because some people who have signed up via recruiter link have reported their mentors disappearing soon afterwards. This is not meant to be accusatory, but it is a common occurrence as observed on many Facebook Online ESL Teaching groups. 4. Remember, if the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Get all the details, in words you can understand, before signing the contract and making the commitment. 5. Most companies only hire what they consider to be “Native English Speakers”. These are people who hold a passport from the following countries: The United States, The UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand [and sometimes South Africa]. This means that even if you speak English perfectly and have the right credentials, if your passport is from a country not listed above then you are considered a Non-Native English Speaker. There are some companies that hire NNES, but they will offer a significantly lower base pay. (Note: many of the bigger companies only hire people from the United States or Canada. A list of companies that hire Non-Native English Speakers can be found at the end of this article.) 6. Most companies only hire those with Bachelor Degrees. It’s preferred that your degree relates to Education or Child Development, but most of the time they’ll accept anything. You may also need a TEFL or TESOL certificate as well, along with some teaching experience. You can sign up for a short course on Groupon. A few of them cost less than $10. (There are some companies that hire without a degree, which are listed at the end of this article.) 7. You are considered an Independent Contractor, NOT an employee. You do not have the same protections you might be used to at a brick and mortar job. This means that these companies can fire you for any reason, or without a reason, at any time. On the other hand, this also means you can also quit for any reason at any time. However, keep in mind that many companies have been known to withhold the final paycheck if this occurs, and there’s not much you can do about it since they’re based in another country and don’t adhere to your country’s laws. It’s best not to burn bridges. 8. A lot of the bigger and popular online ESL companies are geared towards young students between the ages of 5-14 years old. They’ll want to see high energy, the use of props, and general silliness, hence why online educators have coined the term “edutainer”. You must ask yourself if your personality fits this kind of job, because they will expect you to perform in this way during your interview and also in your classes.
Companies to avoid (and why): VIPKid - suspected of data mining, new teachers wait months before getting regular bookings, mixed success with POC teachers, “edutainers” Likeshuo - racist policies, has been seen advertising for white teachers only Acadsoc - low base pay, non-communicative staff, low quality lesson plans iTutorGroup/51Talk - teachers are rated by students and if they get one low rating for a class they can be fired, unresponsive IT staff, inflexible time off policy, harsh cancellation policy Magic Ears - long training process, slow bookings for new teachers, you MUST teach in their style or else you won’t get bookings
Companies I’ve worked for and liked: Liulishuo - communicative staff, offer professional development, offer buyout schedule, hiring freezes, good quality lesson plans, quick and reliable payment each month, responsive IT team Golden Voice English - high quality lesson plans, good students, communicative staff, quick and reliable payment each month, responsive IT team
Companies I’ve worked for and didn’t like: Micro Language - late pay, wouldn’t put black people/POC in their new program despite being top tutors, poor quality lessons with grammar and spelling errors, non-communicative staff, made multiple changes to teaching contracts without input from teachers DaDaABC - offered low base pay, unfair time off policy, removed many of the perks from their new contracts Cambly - difficult students, women often experience sexual harassment from male students, POC teachers have reported racial microaggressions from students, no structured format, pay is low, lots of student no shows or last minute cancellations with no penalty for students
Companies that only hire from The United States/Canada/UK: QKids (and you MUST be based in The US or Canada) Golden Voice English VIPKids English First (US/UK) OpenEnglish
Companies that hire WITHOUT a degree: Magic Ears Cambly Palfish OpenEnglish LatinHire Preply Verbling Learnship Acadsoc SkimaTalk Italki Learnlight 31ABC (but they require teaching experience)
Companies that hire Non-Native English Speakers: Preply Voxy (must have some college credits) Learnship Yiyi English LatinHire
Companies that offer adult-only classes: Huajing Liulishuo English First Learnlight Italki Cambly OpenEnglish
To wrap things up, I’ll share a few more points to look out for in your job search. GREEN FLAGS - They implement hiring freezes so they don’t overhire teachers. Offers professional development opportunities. Quick responses from IT. Quick responses from HR. RED FLAGS - Spam-like advertisements. Lots of recruiter links on Facebook posts or other websites. I hope this guide helps you find the perfect position! ~~~~~

Shikamaru or Senku?
Tumblr media
Damn, anon. You really just came for my throat like that. I don’t know what I’ve done to hurt you but, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize. I swear it won’t happen again. 🤧
Okay, okay. All jokes aside. This is a real toughie and I’m gonna have to reveal just how much of a dumb bitch I really am to explain my answer. Yes, I fall back on the zodiac to fill in any gaps in characterization and determine just how compatible I actually am with fictional men. Sue me. As per usual, this post got a bit away from me so if you want to skip down to the TL;DR for my final answer, please do. I encourage it, actually. lol
Tumblr media
Ishigami Senkuu
January 4th - Capricorn
Strengths: leadership, responsible, disciplined, self-control, good managers
Weaknesses: lack of compassion, know-it-all, unforgiving, condescending, expecting the worst
“Capricorn is a sign that represents time and responsibility, and its representatives are traditional and often very serious by nature. These individuals possess an inner state of independence that enables significant progress both in their personal and professional lives. They are masters of self control and have the ability to lead the way, make solid and realistic plans, and manage many people who work for them at any time. They will learn from their mistakes and get to the top based solely on their experience or expertise.”
“Known for their rational approach to life and their emotions are often well hidden from plain view. Not only is it imperative for them to stick to the realm of absolute intimacy to open their heart for someone but they are often not fully aware of their feelings before hardships occur. This will put pressure on their love life as they have to make a strict and specific equation out of everything, distancing them from carefree and smiling partners who wish to have fun in a relationship.”
“There is nothing easy in the love life of these individuals but they will not see this as the end of the world. They have enough passion and warmth carried within and if mutual respect is found and strong boundaries respected both ways, they will be prepared to let someone into their world and protect them with their shield.”
“As an earth sign, Capricorn has a powerful and instinctive sensuality which expresses itself in a straightforward and natural way without the need for props, frills or adornment. Is it somewhat bereft of romance? Well maybe, but what Capricorn lacks in the way of sentimentality, it more than makes up for in terms of responsibility and discretion ... once it overcomes its initial reserve and caution, it can usually be relied upon to give full satisfaction, no matter how long it takes. As with most other things in its life, Capricorn prefers to take its time over its lovemaking, and its highly developed self-control gives it the stamina to stay the course.”

Nara Shikamaru
September 22 - Virgo
Strengths: pure emotion, loyal, analytical, kind, hardworking, practical
Weaknesses: sensitive to toxic environments, shyness, worry, overly critical of self and others, all work and no play
“Virgo’s are always paying attention to the smallest details and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful of the zodiac. Their methodical approach to life ensures that nothing is left to chance and although they are often tender, their heart might be closed for the outer world. This is a sign often misunderstood, not because they lack the ability to express but because they won’t accept their feelings as valid, true or even relevant when opposed to reason.”
“Feelings of love and life may be a bit like ocean waves that move with the current. With so much water flowing through their primal nature, their rational mind will easily fade around those that touch their heart. This makes them vulnerable to all sorts of betrayals and wrong compromises along the way. They need to be stable and firm in understanding and deciphering their own feelings before anyone else’s or they might lower their guard too far down.”
“They need a partner who is as fragile as they are but also someone who is aware of the strength of their emotional world.”
“ Many Virgos aren’t particularly comfortable with demonstrative displays of emotion or dramatic, over-the-top outbursts. Normally quite shy by nature, they prefer to express their affection in tangible, down-to-earth ways: love for them is about actions, not just empty words. Big worriers who don’t find it easy to show their feelings, Virgos are prone to internalizing their anxieties about their physical desirability – frequently making themselves ill in the process – and can often be a bit uptight around sex. To balance this, they need lots of reassurance that they’re actually perfectly okay!”
Now ... y’all can correct me if I’m wrong, but that all sounds pretty spot on to me. Like, it’s accurate. I’ve mentioned this a few times when replying to comments on my Dr Stone fics, but I really enjoy how nuanced Senkuu is because there’s a lot going on under the surface of his cool facade. He’s very task-oriented and objective about what needs to be done, but he’s also extremely sympathetic towards others even if he tries to play it off. It seems hard for him to be honest about his feelings because, frankly, they’re not rational enough for his liking, so he tries to find ways to justify them. On the flip side, Shikamaru is a little similar with his cool, objective-oriented outer shell but he’s conversely quite sensitive. Like, hella sensitive. That boy is not anywhere near as tough or impenetrable as he acts and I do think at least part of that is a defense mechanism of some sort to shield his heart, even before Asuma died but especially afterward. They’re both tough to penetrate emotionally and they guard their true feelings so well that it actually does manage to fool people. I mean both the characters around them and also the fans watching at home. So at this point, there doesn’t seem to be a conclusive winner and it should come down to a simple matter of preference, right?
Well, let’s see what the stars have to say about throwing a Leo into the mix.
Tumblr media
Capricorn + Leo
“... have one thing in common and it’s their awareness of self. It will be a rare occasion when Leo is attracted to Capricorn but the other way around seems more probable.”
“Both are extremely devoted, especially to each other. Although they may seem to be an unlikely couple on the surface, their love will grow as they discover similarities.”
“Like Barbie and Ken, you’re a good looking pair ... your shared love of achievement and impressive ambition sends power couple fantasies running through your heads. If you’re out to conquer the same goal, your combined skills make you quite an awesome force to behold.”
“The physical intimacy between a Leo and a Capricorn is where this mismatched couple can come together. Leo is hot, physical, feminine, [and] enjoys giving pleasure. In a day to day life, Capricorn is reserved and proper but when it comes to sex, he wants it wild, woolly, rough and tumble. Lucky for him, Leo has a similar sexual appetite. It’s in bed where Leo has the power to make customarily reserved Capricorn throw caution to the wind and become a bit crazy in love.”
“What you’ve got here is one sign with a forensic eye for detail and another who paints with an incredibly broad brushstroke. The possibility of driving each other crazy is real.”
“Capricorn is more likely to be attracted to Leo than the other way around - they’ll watch the lion prance, preform and captivate with their personality and either instantly dislike or feel uncomfortably drawn to them.”
The good: both seek success, Capricorn teaches Leo patience, Leo teaches Capricorn passion
The bad: Leo thinks Capricorn is a cold fish, Capricorn thinks Leo is a show off, it all gets too hard to compromise
Tumblr media
Virgo + Leo
“Their rationality might turn into an intellectual battle for sexual dominance, that is, if they ever reach the point in which they both want to have sex with each other.”
“Leo shows Virgo good times and fun, and introduces the spontaneity that is often missing from Virgo’s life. Virgo teaches Leo patience and focuses their intellectual energy.”
“Leo plays cheerleader to pessimistic Virgo while levelheaded Virgo steps into the therapists role, mirroring Leo’s angst until a breakthrough is reached. This is a safe emotional harbor for both of you.”
“Virgo and Leo see their time together in bed as a celebration of their love and commitment. Both are hopeless romantics so there will be plenty of physical foreplay, including morning kisses, long evening embraces, candles, flowers, and massages. A creative and open minded Leo is always willing to try something new and Virgo, who is no prude either, will be a willing follower. Together these two can reach sexual heights they’ve never experienced before.”
“A comedy of errors ...Leo and Virgo are forever working through misunderstandings and mending communication fences. Often it’s as if they speak different languages.”
“Leo pounces and Virgo, invariably, plays hard to get, rebuffing the lion and appearing completely underwhelmed by their charms. This of course drives Leo into a frenzy of heightened passion - they pull out their A game and deliver super hot maneuvers. The funny thing is that such scenarios are usually Virgo devised and orchestrated. They’ve probably observed the flamboyant lion in action - noted that everyone submits to their charisma and decided to go in the opposite direction. If played correctly Leo becomes a lovesick pussy cat ...”
“Virgo is a bit of a tease - for much of the “falling in Love” phase they love-starve Leo who shamelessly begs for morsels of affection. It actually makes the attraction between them electric.”
The good: Virgo teaches Leo patience, Leo teaches Virgo to have fun, they are fascinated by each other
The bad: messy Leo drives neat freak Virgo crazy, negative Virgo brings Leo down, poor communication abounds
So ... what did we take from all that? Well, first of all, both of them are apparently going to teach me patience which I admit I sorely need. Conversely, I’d bring passion, fun and spontaneity to their lives. On one hand, Senkuu seems like he’d be much more drawn to me than Shikamaru because even though I do stay drinking my dumb bitch juice, we have similar driving forces in our lives and I’m not a complete idiot. I love science, especially when it comes to learning about space and how the world works, just not the mathematical portion. That part can eat my ass tbh. On the other hand though, if Shikamaru and I could sort of find a common ground to stand on it sounds like it would be a very healthy relationship for the both of us which I need so badly it’s kind of not funny. Like, I’m self-aware enough to realize what I need out of a hypothetical relationship and it (unfortunately) is the kind of emotional connection that facilitates healing and growth rather than stagnation. I don’t think either of them would just sit there and watch me flounder in my angst, as one of those quotes put it, but everything is pointing at Shikamaru being much more well equipped to tackle the problem while simultaneously needing the same in return, which I would be more than happy to give him.
TL;DR: I actually cannot pick between them. I just can’t do it. I love them both for strangely similar but also drastically different reasons and, objectively, I can’t say I like one more than the other. Both give me soft, doki doki feelings that I don’t know what to do with and even after thinking on it for about two hours, I’m incapable of saying with definitive certainty that I like one more. So all I can go off of is what the zodiac has to say about our compatibility which is pointing at both potential relationships being rocky with their ups and downs, but Shikamaru being the more sensitive of the two comes out the winner in the end. That’s not to say I wouldn’t work with Senkuu to truly become the power couple we both secretly crave, but I know my emotions can get away from me at times and it seems to me that Shikamaru would be a smidge more understanding in that department.
I realize this definitely isn’t the answer you were expecting, anon, and I absolutely considered scrapping this whole post more than once. lol But I didn’t want to shrug off the question just because I couldn’t decide which of them I liked more. Anyway, for the sake of posterity, here’s what the zodiac has to say about me for comparison.
August 7th - Leo
Strengths: Energetic, creative, passionate, generous, warm-hearted, cheerful, humorous
Weaknesses: Hasty, arrogant, stubborn, self-centered, lazy, inflexible
“Love is the focus point of these individuals, and while their intellectual and instinctive sides are the first ones to show, we will see that they seek someone equal, to share their inner states with. They need a lot of support and a calm partner that soothes their Soul, someone quiet enough and intimate enough to feel safe with. Easy to detach from reality and our planet Earth, their relationships either speak of the unseen and the impossible or present a safe haven where their bodies can rest, and their routine can be brought to balance.”
“Open for new things and often ready to openly show their sexuality, they need a fine touch of love they are worthy of in this lifetime. Romance can be obstructed by their need to prove a point or become the image of something they admire, but as they get closer to their inner truth and become aware of their talents and potentials, they invite the right partner to be within a strangely peaceful union. Although they sometimes stand opposed to marriage and structures and forms that put any relationship in a drawer, they will gladly commit to the right person by their side, in all those surprising and unusual ways.”
“This Fire sign is passionate and sincere and its representatives show their feelings with ease and clarity. When in love, they are fun, loyal, respectful and very generous towards their loved one. They will take the role of a leader in any relationship, and strongly rely on their need for independence and initiative. This can be tiring for their partner at times, especially if they start imposing their will and organizing things that aren't theirs to organize in the first place. Each Leo needs a partner who is self-aware, reasonable and on the same intellectual level as them. Their partner also has to feel free to express and fight for themselves, or too much light from their Leo's Sun might burn their own personality down.”
“Sex life of each Leo is an adventure, fun and very energetic. This is someone who has a clear understanding of boundaries between sex and love, but might fail to see how important intimacy and emotional connection is to the quality of their sex life. Every Leo needs a partner to fight through their awareness and reach their sensitive, subconscious core, in order to find true satisfaction in a meaningful relationship.”
(Spoiler alert: this is all true, except the part about taking on the role of leader in relationships. I genuinely love being dominated in bed, but only if I deem my partner worthy or adequate enough to get the job done. Other than that though, I can’t say any part of this is horribly incorrect. Oops. : / )

Once I examined the organization itself, my group associates and I started off testing out often the marketing and advertising campaigns that would sometimes do the job or not function for the home online business. I tested, tested, analyzed, until there is sufficient comments that calls regarding the right alterations. Most that was left will be the right direction to generate high income from our home business online.
Often the sixth concept that makes a higher income house business online by yourself is definitely true leverage. Any internet company that claims that that they are the actual 9th question but they cannot verify they DUPLICATE genuine make use of with their compensation prepare in a reasonable volume of your current attention course is not a new ponder for you to spend your time and efforts investing in. For you to save yourself several weeks or maybe years of frustration with finding a high revenue home based business online follow almost everything that Therefore i'm discussing below on this page. You need 1 hour each out and about of multitude of people quite than 1000 of your family time
The sixth strategy this produces a high cash flow home business online intended for yourself is actually high conversion rates. Without high sales right now there is no high salary. The initial crucial step with high chats for your own personal home business online will be web copy. The internet backup has to become crafted with written content exactly where that content posesses a route that produces appealing details and opportunities. The organization My partner and i work with contains 20 dollar, 000 a page net content. Most web duplicate because of their home business on the net sites are not fashioned with the psychological conversions methods needed to truly turn.
The actual seventh concept which constitutes a high income residence business on the internet for your self is automation. One of several major problems with ANY internet business online is that individuals are unable to communicate effectively. Men and women can not close sales properly. Following your opportunity is ornamented their own life, time in addition to money, action will then be necessary, they take action through get their prospects upon the phone... they attach it all up. Nicely let's start with the particular problem on the phone. In the event that you are a large earnings home business on-line earner subsequently chances an individual are not on typically the phone. Seeking to convert your personal prospects making calls does not necessarily earn you high revenue for your home company online. Software. What anyone need is to take away human being error of folks who cant will sell simply by setting up automation coming from a system.
The eighth notion that produces a excessive cash flow home business on the web for yourself can be a program. Here it is, the main reason for the good results connected with anyone I include seen on the net. I aren't tell you enough precisely how key this is to get any substantial income property business online. It truly is and so important to have several sort of method within place so the individual mistake of bad conversation are easy to remove. Once human problem is usually removed the technique sells for yourself, trains your own prospects, as well as automates your current business for you. That way people you sign upwards can certainly make money. Normally 95% of the testers who enroll in the home enterprise sector and try to make higher income from their particular home business on the internet no longer make that much funds because they have in order to do all the promoting, all the training, along with hardly any automation. Unless you actually want to very seriously produce the skills of connection that most humans be short of a whole lot in selling and also be that process oneself. Get a home organization on-line that has the system that instructs with regard to you. Where can We find a good choice your questioning huh? Properly, contact myself and check out just what I present and I actually will explain far more regarding you.

Just not #DonaldTrump...
December 26, 2019 (Thursday) - Heather Cox Richardson
Today began and ended with Trump melting down. This morning, after a silence during the holidays, he came out swinging at the Democrats generally, and at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi specifically. Then this evening, apparently against the advice of his lawyer, he retweeted a story that named someone claimed to be the whistleblower, a person who currently has a security detail for protection, not in a foreign war zone, but in our own nation’s capital.
It seems clear that Trump cannot bear that Pelosi—whom he is calling “Crazy Nancy”-- is not rushing to send the articles of impeachment over to the Senate for a trial… a trial that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already promised will exonerate Trump. It is worth noting that it has been only a week since the House passed the articles of impeachment, and we have had major religious holidays in that time, and yet Trump is obviously angry and desperate for movement on impeachment. But he’s got to wait even longer. The House will not be in session again until January 7—twelve days from now—and the Senate calendar for January is still in flux.
In other impeachment news, you will recall that Noah Feldman, the Harvard Law Professor who testified before the House Judiciary Committee in favor of impeachment, wrote an op-ed last week saying that Trump was not officially impeached until the House sent the articles of impeachment over to the Senate. Trump jumped on this idea, and has been saying that he is not really impeached. Today one of the other law professors who testified, George Washington University’s Jonathan Turley, who was called by the Republicans and was opposed to impeachment, wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post entitled “I testified against Trump’s impeachment. But let’s not pretend it didn’t happen.” The title pretty much sums it up. As Turley concluded: “The House speaks in its own voice and in its own time. It did so on Dec. 18, 2019.”
For all the drama of these two stories, I have been more interested in what feels to me like a changing trend: it appears that media is finally recognizing that it cannot simply report “both sides” of the news as if they are equally valid when one side is lying. On the evening of December 24, Rolling Stone magazine published a short interview with Chuck Todd, an NBC journalist who moderates Meet the Press and who is the Political Director for NBC NEWS. On December 29, Meet the Press is doing a show on disinformation and how it is weaponized, and this interview was a teaser.
It's really important to understand that “misinformation” and “disinformation” are different things. “Misinformation” is bad information caused by errors-- someone makes a mistake. “Disinformation,” though, is deliberately false information intended to manipulate public opinion. Another word for disinformation is propaganda.
In the interview, Todd laments that he has been “absurdly naïve.” Right up until he had Senator Cruz on his show recently and Cruz echoed Russian propaganda, Todd apparently believed that the Republicans were acting in good faith when they talked to the media. Todd says he was “stunned” by Cruz’s embrace of Russian disinformation, especially since he was the third senator to do exactly that on the show. Cruz had asked to come on, and Todd thought that since Cruz had always been a Russia hawk, he wanted to set the record straight. When, instead, he followed the party line, Todd finally got it: Trump Republicans are using the media to spread propaganda.
Jay Rosen, a professor of journalism at New York University, responded to this revelation by pointing out that it was on Todd’s own show in January 2017 that Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway launched the concept of the administrations lies simply being based on “alternative facts.” But, Rosen writes, media leaders nonetheless treated officials’ lies as hyperbole, just Trump and his spokespeople being ridiculous.
The upshot is that, three years later, Trump’s base is divorced from reality, while other Americans are so tired from incessant gas lighting we have lost faith that we can still perceive reality. This is why gaslighting is effective propaganda: having lost confidence in their own perceptions, people are so eager for peace they are willing to accept a strong leader who will promise to create stability.
I’m with Rosen on this. There is no excuse for such “naivete” on Todd’s part. He’s the Political Director for NBC News, after all, and should have had a better handle on the well-known methods at play here.
Even more, it has been very clear that today’s Republican Party has risen to power by rejecting facts and creating its own reality. After World War Two, Republicans and Democrats both shared a belief that the government had a role to play in regulating the economy, providing a basic social safety net, and promoting infrastructure. Indeed, that belief about government was so widely embraced it became known as the “liberal consensus.”
In 1951, William F. Buckley, Jr., fresh out of college, wrote a book attacking that consensus by attacking fact-based argument. In God and Man at Yale: The Superstitions of “Academic Freedom,” Buckley said that trying to reach the truth by constructing arguments out of facts—the premise of the Enlightenment-- was a worse superstition than the Dark Age traditions the Enlightenment tried to root out. When presented with fact-based arguments, voters kept choosing the liberal consensus. So far as Buckley was concerned, that consensus flew in the face of God’s laws. So, Buckley concluded, it was imperative to stop arguing based on facts, and simply promote a “Conservative” view of the world by whatever means necessary.
The construction of a narrative undercutting the popular liberal consensus took the modern Republican Party further and further away from a fact-based reality, until by 2002, journalist Ron Suskind had this extraordinary exchange with one of President George W. Bush’s aides.
"The aide said that guys like me were 'in what we call the reality-based community,' which he defined as people who 'believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles…. He cut me off. 'That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. '…When we act, we create our own reality…. We’re history’s actors… and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'”
Ten years later, in 2012, Thomas E. Mann from the left-leaning Brookings Institution and Norm Ornstein from the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute warned that it was imperative to stop saying “both sides do it,” because the parties were not equally polarized. “The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics,” they wrote. “It is ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.”
We now have a president who has made more than 15,000 false or misleading claims in fewer than three years in office, and it has become increasingly clear recently that those lies echo Russian propaganda. Senior officials repeat his claims to the media, creating their own reality.
It is my sense that Todd’s revelation is a sign that media figures are starting to see how they are being used to advance disinformation. There has been discussion emerging of how to report the news without providing a platform for lies. If it takes hold, there will be an important shift in media coverage of the administration and congressional supporters in the new year."

Player Profile: Hang
Tumblr media
avid modder, occasional TO and montage video producer from Germany top 12 in the Jawbreakers Stunfest Qualifier (artwork of Drop by Kagu)
What names do you go by?
I used to go by Troke for the entirety of April. Which was based on a dumb coincidence where I talked to Neer and had one of my usual mobile spelling errors and I wrote "I'm having ha troke" instead of "having a stroke".
I wanted to go away from "Hang Boy" since quite some time as I specifically wanted to get rid of the "Boy" and just "Hang" felt wrong and was still associated to Hang Boy anyway. But I guess I'm back to that now.
Reason to why I wanted to rid myself of "Boy" was as simple as me linking my online persona to my OC (By choosing her for profile pictures on basically any platform) which then of course lead people to believe she is a male based on the thought "Hey this is Hang Boy. So the profile picture must also be Hang Boy".
The name Hang Boy btw occurred just as I started my first step into the internet, when I was a big fan of the Binding of Isaac. So i needed an online name and I ventured through Isaac related things. Which was when I came across the Tarot card "Hanged Man". So I just took that and adjusted a bit.
How do you feel about your performance in this tournament?
Was pretty okay. I didn't expect to get far into it. Although I'm a bit sad I didn't make the Top 8 picture. Only needed one win more as well.
However I would have been disappointed in everyone else, if they allowed for me to reach Top 3. So good that didn't happen.
What was your strategy preparing for and competing in the tournament?
I haven't played Blaze in weeks. The only times I played recently was to get some recordings for a Toxic montage. Right before the tournament I was more worried to finish my Isaac run. Which I did win!
And during the tournament was pretty much just "Turn some nice music on, jam to it, play some Nitro, do some silly cuff shenanigans, do dumb parry grab down throws so the viewers can laugh over something".
I did "fly" with Nitro in one match but sadly it wasn't streamed so only Hellraiser was able to see the glory of Flying Cuff™.
youtube
Which was your hardest match of the tournament?
Hellraiser I suppose. He did kick me out of it. I never really played him or saw him play and he didn't fall for my aggressive playstyle, so it was a tough time.
What surprised you most about the tournament?
Cherry's second place finish. I know he's good, I think he's underrated even.
But second place is a really good finish. Even more so beating JawDrop since, in my opinion, he has some of the craziest tech and can be really really confusing to play against.
(Yea he also has weird lag even tho he lives in France but whatever :p)
Is there anyone you didn’t face that you wish you did?
I would have wanted to play Defur if possible. To some degree I see his entrance as a sort of meme entry. But jokes aside and game aside, I can only take my hat off to this man and his effort for the tournament scene.
Sadly didn't get to play Daio. It feels like a tradition to face off against him in FellowsTV hosted tournaments. Which always goes the same way tbf. He counters my playstyle hard, I'm annoyed to play against him, don't bother changing my playstyle in order to win, get demolished. But the tradition counts!
I'd put Neer in the same boat. Hate playing against him but it just kinda has to be.
How did you get into Lethal League?
A friend bought it for me. We played a couple of games, he had to leave. I went into QM, found Garu, got absolutely demolished, he friended me and pulled me into it.
I specifically remember seeing his Latch corpse juggles and thinking "Man this is so cool, I want to be able to do this too". So right of the bat I started to play for the style, which is what I still go by.
Style > Efficiency
It feels bad not having paid for LL nor Blaze but I bought LL for a bunch of friends so guess that checks out.
What's your current Lethal League experience?
450+ hours in LL 340 hours in Blaze (As of now. 26.4.2019) And a giant bunch of hours of community interaction and modding.
I was very excited when asked to be beta testing and it fulfilled a childhood dream of being in video game credits.
Despite only getting into Beta a month before release, I stacked up 90 hours before the game came out. Lots of 9 hour playtime days. It was massive fun.
I bought almost all of the merch...got most signed by Tim & Dion too. I went to the Netherlands twice to meet TR. It was fun, they are cool people. Watching Dion doing a live dance off was pretty rad ngl.
I brought self made cheesecake the second time, but Tim had to get it into the building since they check your bags for normal visitors and it wasn't allowed to bring food.
I'll never forget the sight of Tim with his big bag looking like he's smuggling a bomb into a convention.
Who are your main/side/counter character picks?
Everything. So yes random, it's random.
However I most enjoy playing Nitro because of all the dumb things he can do. Especially flying, cuff storage (specifically for down angle on the ground, to just pull a little bit forward) and half pull.
Doombox is also very fun. Special>bunt>smash>parry>special>repeat can chain pretty often on some opponents and is hilarious.
The only characters I "despise" playing are Toxic and Sonata. But only because I'm really bad with them.
What are your favourite character outfits?
Dust and Ashes. Just their whole design.
For real tho. There's not really skins that stick out to me since I use my own modded ones.
Can you share your favourite/most used custom outfit?
Hm I missed that that's not "outfits"...well take a load of skins! In order
Mothyman Jeviman Spacetor Golden Switch Drop Palette Sonata Supercharged Latch PaDice-a the Rapper Skull Grunt Supercharged Grid Supercharged Doombox Dropbox FYouBox Nitro with a blue, white and mint color scheme I made for every character and lastly my Toxic skin with that same color scheme
Tumblr media
What are your stage preferences?
Idc. I play random so who really cares. I guess insert the usual "Paradise field eclipse succs!!!"
What input method do you use?
PS4 Controller Dpad for movement L1 Bunt R1 Swing R2 Grab
I used to play LL on a cheap SNES controller using only face buttons. When I was over at Dutch Comic Con with Serchiot I played a couple games of Blaze with his PS4 controller and really liked his layout and the feel of the controller. So I just sneakily stole his layout and got myself a PS4 controller.
Coming from all face buttons, I needed some time to get used to it. But in my opinion it's just superior this way.
How do you make your character montage videos?
I have two ways of recording clips. Just consciously recording with OBS or putting Shadowplay on and saving every time something cool happens. I usually just boot up Blaze and jump into ranked to get some games in. With the Toxic montage it was a bit different since I now have a 4K monitor but 4K can hardly be recorded at 60fps and setting the output resolution in OBS to 1080p got me weird screen effects. So every time I went to record, I put the resolution of my monitor to 1080p in order to at least get that in good quality. Then I just cut all the good clips out of the recordings and mix ‘n’ match ‘em. What's usually the hardest decision is what music to use. There's been a couple of songs that I'd like to use, but they either don't fit over Blaze gameplay, don't fit my playstyle or were just the wrong length.
My two favourite Montages are definitely for Candyman and Nitro. Candyman took a long way to develop, because I just wanted to show off so much. It's one of the few montages where I actually asked higher skill players for games instead of jumping into ranked. Picking the song was really hard, I was only sure I wanted a Klaus Veen track, but OD V2 was too mainstream and most others were too short. So in the end I opted for two songs with a break in between the montage. Splitting the clips into two sets, each song one. With the second part containing what I considered the more hype bursts.
And for Nitro I actually had the montage pretty much done, but I wasn't too happy with it. Still planned to just upload it like that tho. However when I saw the Nitro voice actor interact with a community member in a way that could only be described as "incredibly wholesome", I was inspired to redo most, if not all, of the clips and do the best I could. For the first time actually going into training mode to lab some combos (mostly corpse juggles tbf) and eventually learning Flying Cuff™ too. Watching JawDrops Blazin' Combo video and taking a slice off the Nitro plays there. Which resulted in a montage I am very happy with.
youtube
What other games do you play?
It differs from time to time.
The only games I always come back to are retro games like SMW, CTR or something like Mario Kart 8D. Which I always enjoy playing at local tournaments and pretty successfully so even. People just can't handle it when someone plays with one hand.
Atm I also like playing TBoI Rebirth.
Will you come to Stunfest?
Probably not. Driving/Flying over to France is just very expensive. I would love to meet all my Baguettes (Lusked, Jawdrop, Aru and Lalou, who stated he can't make it due to exams, yes I know). But exams and the neer-ing end of my apprenticeship is leaving a lot of work to be done.
So it probably won't fit into my schedule. However never say no! Trips to Blaze events aren't uncommon for me.
Is there anything else you’d like to say to the community?
Play the game for fun, not for glory.
Stop rubbing yourself for an imaginary title that doesn't mean anything as there's not even any competition for it.
I can't stress enough how great Soda City Funk by Tim Legend is. Go listen to it right now.
And for my last words. Be more like Kota. And remember, We love Ramkat <3

Today is the first of 12 sessions where myself and Terry Norman develop a citizen science learning programme. In this first session we’ve talked about what Citizen Science means (and why use that term and not others), plus some of the organisational steps needed to become a citizen scientist.
Some notes on Citizen Science
Citizen science is similar to amateur science. It describes a situation where people with a specific interest employ scientific methods to pursue it, outside or with minimal contact with academic institutions. Citizen science is practice-led: the citizen scientist observes something in their local environment and seeks out methods, communities and infrastructures through which to better understand it. The citizen scientist has an interest in unpacking, dismantling, expanding upon some aspect of their lives in order to analyse, control, monitor etc. This is in contrast to the practice of signing up to a course on a broad topic such as ‘physics’ or ‘engineering’. Citizen science is process-led; awareness of process is the motor of CS - embarking on a process, testing it, assessing, moving on, in an exploratory and open ended manner.
The distinction between citizen and amateur science is open to interpretation but I (we?) draw the line as follows: the amateur scientist may never leave their garden shed, whereas the citizen scientist will amplify or share their learning in their neighbourhoods, online or through specific institutions (for instance collecting data and sharing with the council).
Examples of Citizen Science: dismantling and rebuilding an engine, amateur radio, bike repair, baking, monitoring the behaviour of bees in a hive, building a home sprinkler system, repairing the shower.
Are we citizen scientists? We are both currently wearing ‘citizen science’ hats while working on this programme in that we’re taking a process led approach and working locally, with free and affordable resources. Terry has extensive experience in the fields of engineering and physics, his job is to work out which files from his experience library to use to inform a learning structure that works in the neighbourhood. I am a hobbyist who has dabbled in electronics, programming, electrics, mechanics for a couple of years. My job, I think, is to ask questions, to learn and to document.
Documentation
The first thing to think about as a citizen scientist is how to document what you’re doing. Often projects involving circuits, mechanical systems etc involve many steps and a lot of debugging (another word for making mistakes and finding fixes for them, or ‘troubleshooting’). If you don’t document your process regularly, in a format you’ll be able to understand later on, you will lose time, your train of thought and possibly the plot. Working in engineering Terry relied on his ‘engineering notebook’ - a log book of tests carried out, errors, fixes. My first task is to set up an engineering notebook. Terry recommends keeping two parallel notebooks - one digital, one paper based. The digital one is for links, the paper based one is for live note taking in the workshop. I have decided to keep my digital EN as a set of files which I will write using vim, a Linux software. I have chosen to do this so I can get into the habit of using Linux and the terminal window. Open Source Software is a very useful thing to read about if you’re interested in citizen science, especially the route we are taking (which I will describe shortly) because a) it’s free, b) installing it is a learning curve which will familiarise you with debugging and c) you can learn to work with software with few constraints: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc4ROCJYbm0
For the paper version Terry says that bound notebooks can be limiting as you may need to repeatedly return to and extend sections. He described a notebook he kept in the past in a shoebox - he numbered each sheet of paper, bound multiples using paperclips, and put them in a shoebox where he could return to them later. Something about working with a shoebox is irresistible (cheap and cheerful, clever, stackable, accessible) so I am going to find a shoebox and fill it with pieces of clearly marked paper and clips.
As well as the engineering notebook I will be keeping this blog to keep a record of my looser/more meandering thoughts and to provide a linear explanation of what I am doing.
The route we will take
We spoke about different approaches to learning and teaching citizen science. Do we touch briefly on many topics (”like a thin pizza”)? Or do we burrow into just one topic? I have a passion for motors and for electricity, so maybe we should pay homage to obsessed hobbyists in their garages and dig into an area I am passionate about. This is tempting, but we decided to focus instead on microcontrollers, because they connect motors and other analogue moving parts (the things i love) with software (which, through arduino etc, can drive them). working with microcontrollers will give us a framework around which to work with electromechanics in a structured and accessible way.

Deployment planning should start post uat sign off
Deployment is regarded as the most important stage of the project. They also determine the project's overall success. Define and agree on release and deployment strategies with customers/stakeholders is the goal of release and deployment planning. Then make sure that each release package contains a collection of linked assets and service components that are interoperable. Ensure that the integrity of a release package and its constituent components is preserved during the transition operations and that the configuration management system records the information appropriately.
Ascertain that all release and deployment packages can be tracked, installed, tested, confirmed, and/or removed or backed out as needed. Assist in the management of change during the release and deployment processes. Keep track of deviations, risks, and difficulties linked to the new or revised service, and take corrective action as needed. Assist clients and users in optimizing their use of the service to support their business activities by ensuring knowledge transfer. Ensure that the deployment schedule has been prepared and that all stakeholders engaged in the deployment have signed off on their availability before the deployment. It is critical to plan the deployment timetable when in the UAT phase and not during the deployment activities. It is recommended that no new requirements or upgrades be incorporated after User Acceptance testing is completed. They may have an impact on the deployment schedule.
We never recommend doing large deployments on Friday; instead, we recommend doing them on Monday so that we have a full week to monitor the new changes in production. Creating users in production, setting up org-wide defaults for standard objects, installing any 3rd party AppExchange apps, Salesforce configurations such as setting default workflow user, lead owner, Case owner, enabling Chatter, Email deliverability, Salesforce to Outlook configurations, enabling multiple currencies, configuring IP ranges for the organization, and so on should all be done prior to the deployment. Creating and publishing communities are also actions to take. Taking a backup of your current data, Ascertain that the code coverage is more than 75%. Make a list of everything that needs to be deployed. Prepare a change management document, disable workflow-triggered email notifications, and so on.
The most critical method is to build change sets that include all of the components that will be used in deployment and then have the change set verified in production. If the deployment operations are adequately planned ahead of time, the team will have enough time to validate all of the change set's components before the actual deployment. Before the actual deployment, all users must be notified that there will be downtime. Users must be informed of the planned downtime as well as any new modifications or additions they can expect when they check in after the deployment.
If the change sets have previously been validated in production as part of the preparation phase, all that is left is to deploy them. Because all of the test classes will be running against the new features in a complicated org, the deployment may take a few hours. Please allow enough time for the deployment to take place. We'd conduct sanity testing in production to confirm that everything is working as expected and in accordance with the user stories supplied throughout the requirements process. The post-deployment sanity checks also aid in determining whether any errors occurred during the deployment.

TRSB18 FAQ
Tumblr media
General Information
What is a Reverse Big Bang?
A Reverse Big Bang is literally a reverse of the Big Bang challenges you may have come across in the past (such as Hobbit Big Bang, for example). The participating artists create a piece of art, which is posted anonymously for authors to view and claim. The authors will then write a fic based on the art they chose.
What kind of artwork/story is eligible?
Hobbit, Silm, LotR, HoME, whatever takes your fancy, be it movies or book-canon ;)
This challenge is open to all characters, genres and ratings, as long as there is a clear link to Tolkien’s mythos.
OCs are welcome, although crossovers are not currently permitted.
We are not setting any restrictions on content, but please work with your artist/author to ensure that the fic turns out well for both sides; refer back to the individual’s Do-Not’s and Must-Haves before you decide to claim a piece of art!
If you create a NSFW piece of art for the Preview, we will put a SFW crop in the Preview with a link to the NSFW version.
Because this challenge is open to and inclusive of all Tolkien characters and ships, we would like to remind all participants that absolutely no shipshaming or kinkshaming will be tolerated.
Please respect each other and the all-inclusive tone of the challenge.

August 25, 2018: Fics due.
Monday, August 27, 2018: Posting begins in the last week of August, running in staggered schedule until all Fics have been posted/reblogged.
The scheduled times and dates are not negotiable.
What’s a checkpoint? They’re something to give you a feel on where a typical artist and/or author should or could be at in their creation process. They’re used for encouragement and motivation only. The last author checkpoint is mandatory and for us to determine what art pieces we need to find pinch hitters for. Any author who does not check in then (or if they can’t make it lets us know why) will be dropped from the challenge and a pinch hitter assigned to the art prompt. What should my art draft look like for Preview? It should be the equivalent of about 75% of your final artwork. That’s hard to measure, of course – basically it does not need to be a finished piece but it should give the author wanting to claim your art a good idea of what it will look like.
Time should go into it, this piece will be what the author bases their story on.
What should my rough draft look like for the Final Checkpoint? It needs to be at least 4,000 words, or 80% of your fic. You do not need to have your fic finished by this time however, you may still work on it and get it beta-read until your final fic and art is due. We just need to be able to reasonably verify that you are going to be able to finish your fic by the due date.
How will I contact my artist/author? We will provide an author with contact information once they are committed to an artist(email/tumblr/other - artists choose their preferred communications method when they submit their art for Preview). From there it is up to the author to communicate with the artist and create a story that would fit the art.
How do I sign up? Sign-ups for the 2018 fest open on May 1, you can sign up via forms linked on the @tolkienrsb blog.
FAQ from Artists
Art encompasses (but is not limited to) drawn or painted artwork (both traditional and digital), comics, and digital manips. Craft is welcome as long as the final piece can be photographed and submitted to us via email as an image. If you have an unconventional idea for your artwork, please email the mods at tolkienrsb at gmail dot com to discuss.
Artists may submit up to 3 separate pieces of art for this challenge to be claimed separately by 3 different authors. Alternatively, artists may choose to submit one piece for the preview and create more pieces as the collab continues - whichever best suits the story you and your partner want to tell!
Can I draw anything I like? Basically, yes. However, bear in mind that you are creating something to inspire a writer. Is there an AU or a headcanon you’d love to see explored? Give your author as much information as you can in your art to capture their imagination. Just as with a Big Bang when authors try to make their summary as enticing to artists as possible, you have the opportunity to inspire a writer with your idea and to have them write a fic specifically for the art you create.
What about nudity/ships/kinks? Bring them. Go wild. Ship it (you know you want to). This is basically your party (and we know we have some kinky writers out there, so you might find a kindred soul for yours ;) )
Bear in mind that if you DO create an NSFW piece of art as your prompt, we will put a SFW crop in the Preview and link a full version hosted on Mod Raiy’s private Imgur account for the duration of the Preview Weekend.
Do I have to finish my art before Previews? No, but submitted artwork should be at least 75% done.  We know that can be tough to gauge with art; the main thing is to post a draft with enough detail that authors can clearly make out what’s going on in your artwork.
Art is only to be completed before the posting date (this means you have all the weeks of writing to finish it - or to make more art or sunbathe or however you’d like to spend time this summer).
See Submission Info for more details.
Can I create a crossover or fusion piece? No, we feel Tolkien’s works are a large enough sandbox for this first round – perhaps in future we will open for true fusions/crossovers.
NB: THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN’T DO AU’s!
What happens if the number of authors doesn’t match up with the number of artists? We will do several rounds of claiming so that EVERY piece of art has a fic in the event that the art pieces outnumber fanfiction writers. If it’s the other way, we may open up the pieces of art so that more than one fic writer is assigned to the same piece of art. Either way, everyone who wants to participate will get to participate.
Will my art be archived anywhere? No, we will only post your art in our Preview document, which will be deleted by the end of the TRSB18 event.
NB: Art pieces created for this challenge are NOT TO BE POSTED ANYWHERE ELSE before story posting takes place.
How will art claims work? Art will be posted anonymously to a Members Only, View Only private presentation document. Each piece will be numbered and accompanied by additional information supplied by the artist so authors will have plenty of time to peruse and choose their preferences.  See Submission Info to see what info the artists will submit, and see Claims Info for how claims will work.
FAQ from Authors
After claiming takes place, authors will have approximately 10 weeks to write a story with a minimum of 5,000 words. The fic must be original, complete, and related to the claimed art for which it is written.
We strongly recommend that the fic is beta-read, either by the artist or a third party to reduce errors.
Do I get more than one piece of art to work with? That’s up to your artist, though we encourage our teams to collaborate throughout the process in whatever manner they see fit. There is no obligation for your artist to create additional art unless they wish to; before you begin writing, have a chat with your artist about interpretations of the artwork - bear in mind that elements of the artwork must feature in your fic.
What if the artist’s OTP is my nOTP/squicks me? Then you shouldn’t pick that piece of art on your claims form. Elements in the artwork need to be present in your story - this means that if there is a pairing specifically shown or suggested, then that is the pairing you are claiming and promising to write for. We also encourage you to discuss any squicks before you start writing and respect each other’s Do Not Wants.  (Key word here being “respect” - it should go without saying, but we will not tolerate shipshaming, kinkshaming, flaming or other hurtful behaviour.)
What type of requirements are there for a fic? You will be expected to write a fic with a minimum of 5,000 words, based on the prompt you choose in the Art Claims post. Claims will be first come, first serve. Beta-reading is strongly advised.
How do I know what art I’m writing for? / How do I make a claim? When the artists turn in their rough drafts, we’ll make an Art Preview. Signed up authors will be emailed a link to view the Art Preview and have a couple of days to think about their favourites. Then we will open the Claims Form where you will rank your choices by preference and we will match authors with claims on a first come first served basis.
I’ve already been writing a fic - can I use that one? No. The fic you write must be based around the art you choose, using that as your prompt.
What if my [character] doesn’t look like my artist’s [character]? Then you should probably have chosen a different piece of art ;) As the entire idea of this fest is to use a piece of art as a prompt, discarding the artist’s vision for your own is pretty bad form. Pick art you like/agree with!
What genres/warnings are allowed? You may write/create art for whichever genre of fic you choose, as well as any rating as long as your artist is comfortable with it. Remember, you’re creating the fic around the art and the artist’s original vision.
Can I write with someone else? No, only one person may write. You may use your artist as a sparring partner or utilise the services of a beta reader(which we strongly recommend all authors do), but your story should be yours.
Will my fic be archived anywhere? No, where the story is posted will be up to the author. We will create/reblog MasterPosts to DW and Tumblr, but the location of your fic is entirely up to you.
How does posting work? Each author/artist team nominates their preferred posting day within the last week of August. Each team of author/artist is required to post on their assigned date to the platform of their choice(DW/Tumblr/AO3/ Other).
Each team will also be required to create a masterpost of their collaboration on Tumblr(no matter how they choose to post), including a summary and links to wherever they’ve posted their work.
If you do not have a DW account when it comes to posting time, just email your links/information details to a mod at [email protected] and we will make the post to the DW community for you.
Each Tumblr MasterPost will be reblogged via @tolkienrsb to give each team the maximum exposure we can give on their day of posting. Round-ups of all the works created for the Tolkien RSB18 will be posted here too.
An AO3 collection is available for teams to add their work: TRSB18.
See Masterpost Info for more details.
Any questions or issues can be addressed to the mods at tolkienrsb at gmail dot com or by sending us an Ask. We answer all signed-in Asks on private and there are no stupid questions.
Thank you for participating,
Raiyana & Narya, your friendly community mods!
