hi! how are you?

so I read a fic some time ago that destroyed me…… like literally. I enjoyed it but at the same time I didn’t. but now I can’t stop thinking about it bc everything on it was so revolting and fucked. how to make a fic get out of our system? is it possible 😅 not to be dramatic but this fic almost made me lose interest in the whole ship lmao I just wanted to read something I enjoy again, you know? and nothing hits :( and when it does I’m almost finishing the fic and something horrible happens (that wasn’t really tagged) and I endure it until the end 💀 anyway if you have any fic that you read recently that is very romantic and monogamous or even if they are exes but they don’t date anyone else because they just can’t move on, pls share with us!! and it doesn’t have to be drarry, it can be anything. Im going through your lists and whole blog tbh looking for something that will save me lmaoooo I’ve read almost everything that interests me and you recced. (btw your break up make up list is amazing!) still I think the spark left me 🫠 ugh sorry for yapping

I’m sorry to hear that, anon :,( I think we’ve all been there at some point, god knows how many times I felt blocked, uninspired or just unable to connect to any fic. Personally, I find it helpful to take short breaks from fandom and focus on other hobbies for a while. Those fics will always be there when and if you’re ready to return! Also, imho you shouldn’t have to “endure” any fics that you find upsetting. I don’t typically have any triggers but I certainly have tropes/topics that don’t interest me much (or at all), and I have no qualms abandoning a fic when they show up unannounced 🤣

Now, it’s a bit hard to rec something randomly without knowing more about your fic tastes, but since you’re interested in romantic/monogamous stories, I thought I’d share some recs along those lines. This is a personal selection that might not work for you, but if it does I’ll be pleased to know that you’ve found that spark again :) Take care xo

You haven’t seen Dieter in a while, not since he shot to stardom. It seemed like one day he was doing the same little parts you’re taking— pilots that never go to series, supporting roles in schlocky action movies— and the next he was the internet’s boyfriend. It wasn’t just roles. He was everywhere. Talk shows, Super Bowl commercials, Cliff Beasts 5 merchandise tie ins. Beyonce’s internet is inundated with memes from his horny little fans. I watch Narcotics for the plot. The plot being a topless photo of Dieter as his character– the brooding, loose canon Detective Enrico Suarez. You can’t turn around without seeing that handsome face you absolutely despise.

Everybody in Hollywood has some charming anecdote about Dieter Bravo. If only they knew what he was really like.

Untitled Regency!Joel Miller au (Regency!Joel x f!reader)

Joel watches the girls as they walk through the village. two neat columns of single file. They travel with poise, following behind you like a mother goose. 

He’s done this for years, searching their faces for any familiarity. One of these girls is his daughter, which one he does not know and neither does she. He’s never met her. The scandal of her birth made anonymity the best choice nearly sixteen years ago. But Joel wishes it could have been different. 

He chose the school because it was close to home. But, of course, he didn’t know any others. Joel wasn’t well educated himself being a common tradesman. When he wrote to his brother with the militia, Corporal Miller always teased him for the brevity of his letters. Despite that, he trusted that you would see that his daughter would not be stymied by her inferior birth.

sorry if idk this but what do you think about Wordgirl now in 2024 do you still like it do you still want to make art or talk about it or are you just done with all of it forever and plus i seen that you haven't made art of it since 2022 so you just done with all of it oh yeah and what about The Magnus Archives + Wordgirl ao3 fic too like is that just going to be and i know that your working on 2 au's now just wanting to know that's all

My interests tend to come in intense bursts and then fade. Unless something like, big happens like it gets a reboot its unlikely I'll be coming back to it anytime soon. As for the fic I don't have any current plans to finish it unfortunately.
