Normally I don't post stuff like this cause I usually just let it slide but; I'm so sick of seeing these whiny obnoxious Gojo fans in the Sukuna tag. I know some of this is because tumblr's tagging system is awful but some of these Gojo fans will write out the most deluded and whiny shit and then deliberately tag their shit as Sukuna lmfao (y'all want our attention sooooo bad)

Worst part is they act all innocent like they weren't being obnoxious pricks when the Gojo vs Sukuna fight was going. Seeing the posts they made while the fight was happening vs now is like watching a child throw a tantrum because they couldn't get their way. I even see people writing up these long ass rants about how shitty a writer Gege is and how they're quitting the manga. Then quit! Don't just talk about it! Do it. Quit the manga so I don't have to see that shit no more! Seeing these Gojo fans whine about how they're going to quit is like when customers make a scene and then yell about how they're never coming back. The fuck do I care if you come back? What makes you think I wanted you here to begin with?

It's been a few weeks guys. Gojo is dead and will probably stay dead. Now either drop the manga or get over it.

Tips for Writers, Specific to Tumblr

PUT YOUR FICS UNDER A READ MORE. Good lord in heaven please. You will turn off so many people to your writing if you do not use this function.

TAG APPROPRIATELY. And don't do the shitty TikTok way (with letter substitutions and stupid TikTok vernacular like "unalive" instead of "kill" and "slip n side" instead of "suicide" etc). Tag like a normal ass human being. And don't tag things that aren't included like characters that are in the fandom but don't show up in your fic. That crap is annoying. You're not gaming the system; you're shooting yourself in the foot and turning people off to your work.

LINK YOUR WORK. Make it easy to find what you've written. Searching for posts on Tumblr is terrible so make a Masterlist and pin that shit.

START A TAGLIST. Even if you don't have many followers, go ahead and set up a way for people to be added. (And Do Not Add People Unless They've Asked To Be Added)

Tips for Writers in General (below the cut)

GET A BETA READER. If you want to improve your writing, get yourself a beta reader. If you have a friend that also writes, become each other's betas. Both having an editor and being an editor can improve your writing so much. My betas catch fewer and fewer mistakes the longer I do this. And I learn so much from reading/editing my friend's fics.

DO SPRINTS. If you're having trouble just starting, set a timer for 5-15 minutes and just start writing. Don't go back and try to fix typos or make every sentence perfect; just get your thoughts down. A crappy low word count sprint is still better than not writing at all. You can edit and finesse and polish later, but first you have to have something to edit! (If you're on Discord, set up the bot Sprinto. Great for getting friends on sprints and it automatically tallies up your word count.)

WRITE FOR YOU. Don't write because you want the notes or the followers or whatever. Write because you want to share a story. If you're writing crap just bc it's popular and you don't even like it, why bother? You should write to enjoy yourself. I write because the spirit of Silco possesses me until the fic is written and who am I to deny him?

no tumblr’s tagging system is so busted like if there’s a tag that contains the sequence of letters “male reader” it shows in the male reader tags even if there’s more there. so tags like “female reader” show up in the tag because it shows the phrase it’s so dumb😭😭

like i have “male reader” blocked on my blog bc there’s some authors who are uncomfortable with fem readers interacting w male reader or gn fics which i completely get so i just blocked it so i wouldn’t accidentally see and interact with it but now everything with “female reader” is blocked too it’s so annoying and soooo frustrating bc authors get blamed for tagging stuff incorrectly when they tagged everything the right way tumblr’s code is just shitty🫠

keep getting comments like, "well what about the harassment jas is getting," bro I literally received murder threats + was doxxed on this site & staff told me to turn off my inbox + replies and block my way out of it, and that even after having family members threatened w the (luckily inept) doxxing, they weren't even going to remove posts w any personally identifying information until/unless the person threatening me posted phone numbers.

and it sucks people are calling her names. it sucks if she's getting threats. it sucks if mercury was nuked without jas's input, because clearly if there was ANY consideration for how the backlash was going to affect jas, it wasn't thought out well if at all. but she has protection & tools at her disposal that the rest of us don't, and they were utilized over something trivial & frivolous that came back to kick her in the ass. she has the same options as any other regular joe schmoe blogger on this site now, and while I'm sympathetic to that, bc it's a shitty unfair system, I don't feel sorry for her when she ultimately created this situation herself wrt the reactions SHE'S getting to the way she reacted to mercury's post.

i know it's probably been said a million times but please please please stop trigger tagging your posts as some unreadable jumbled mess of letters and numbers and symbols. there is a way to block specific tags on tumblr and many users utilize that system. however, it becomes useless when people try to... censor their trigger tagging? i cannot tell you how many times i have had to see a post i specifically have blocked in tags because somebody came up with bullshit tags. and even with the content filtering system, it tends to be wildly inaccurate and feels as though it's barely functional. therefore, i have to rely on tags.

let's say for example you really hate the mayor from powerpuff girls. seeing his fuckass mustache brings you nothing but rage and agony. but your entire dash seems to be filled with him even after youve blocked the main bloggers of him. so, you go to your beloved tag filtering system and hope to never see that shitty ass mayor again. problem solved, right? no. because theres another mayor-hater in town who hates the mayor SO MUCH they cant even bear to truly spell out his name. so all mayor-related hate posts are tagged with shit like 'm4y0r'. well, easy enough. you dont want to see any mayor content (both malevolent and benign), so you just filter out the 'm4y0r' tag. but what's this?! suddenly the mayors number one fan has begun to 'tag him' for mayor haters thinking that if they censor his name, mayor haters wont be so upset. so now theres hundreds of different combinations of tags. m4yor, may0r, mm44yo0r. all this weird shit you couldnt ever imagine. you try your best to tag all of these influx of mayor posts with tags that try to censor his name, but to no avail. the content settings dont help, because now every post about your favorite character (the mayor from nightmare before christmas) is censored!

i know it's a silly example (honestly) but it's a representation of what i go through almost every single day on this hellsite. i know this was longwinded but. please. for the love of god. just trigger tag your posts normally.

Yes, yes, YES! AO3 is designed EXACTLY to protect people from “DISCOVERY!” Even the people you personally think are bad people! Even you! And if you think that a site that DOESN'T leave its users open to bashing, witch hunts, doxxing and harassment is a bad site, then it can only be assumed that YOU want to bash, witchhunt, doxx and harass people who don’t meet your moral standards. That is not a good thing! It is not!

And you are as free as the wind to criticize any fic you choose so long as a) you are not doing it in front of the author b) are not threatening the author and c) are not doxxing the author. Discord is a great place to do that! PRIVATELY. You are also free and encouraged to make any amount of helpful educational posts for the young and easily impressionable warning them of things that are not alright irl and what to do if you recognize yourself as a victim of one. How many such have you made lately?

And btw, anyone with any understanding of library studies will tell you that AO3's tagging system is a miracle and the envy of absolutely any such organization. There are plenty of such posts on tumblr! Look them up, maybe!

like i clearly and repeatedly explained in the post, "good archive" and "prevents users from discovering its contents" are mutually exclusive. this is the entire point of the post and ultimately irrelevant to whether or not i personally approve of the content. as i said repeatedly, assuming you could read and understand words, the problem is that a search system that CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR or gives you almost entirely irrelevant results is a shitty search engine.

ao3 provides zero actual protection from doxxing or harrassment, it just has a shitty search engine. they didn't even let you block users until very recently. you might as well say my tumblr blog has incredible protection from witchhunts because the search bar can't filter tags.

a user who has trouble with a badly designed website isn't inherently Young and Stupid, you're just so up your own ass that you think memorizing 80 euphemisms for pedophilia makes you a supergenius. like i said explicitly in words, a library that incorrectly files or provides literally no relevant information on its contents is a bad library.

but yes, i do think that some works should be restricted from, like, 6 year olds. some people, like elementary schoolers and you, don't have the mental capacity to understand cause and effect, so giving them propaganda for certain ideas when they don't yet have the ability to think critically can lead to them wholesale internalizing whatever they read.

and i do think that it is bad to write a book about how epic and good rape is. i think we should take that book and put it in a library so everyone can see that you think that and criticize you for it, and if that hurts your feelings you shouldn't have published it. i fully understand that authors can write books where characters espouse and even encourage ideas that the author does not hold, however it's thoroughly bad reading comprehension to assume that you can't ever read something and a) analyze what ideas the narrative itself supports while also b) when applicable, understanding that a book that endorses ideas and an author who endorses them irl are not correlation without causation.

oh yeah so i picked this book up at the secondhand store from the 1$ rack like 5, 6 years ago or something and only just got around to reading it, it's flight maps: adventures with nature in modern america by jennifer price and it's about america's changing relationship with conceptions of nature. i'm only halfway through but i'm really enjoying it.

it was on the 1$ rack because the prev owner had done a LOT of underlining, tho curiously not on this chapter, which of course has me acting in suit. the chapter in question is "a brief natural history of the plastic pink flamingo", i.e. the tacky king of lawn ornament kitsch. i'd recommend the whole chapter really (the whole book really), but in particular, re:the post i left that tag on, page 134, where i left the comment "my tumblr dash about marvel movies" in the margin in reference to basically the entire page.

here's a few choice quotes:

honestly vis a vis marvel and critical analysis i think it's probably kind of the other way around - people are complicated and the culture is complicated and i think it's more likely that people enjoy marvel movies because they don't have critical thinking skills because of a variety of things going on in our society (school systems which teach to the test rather than actually teaching, the internet making it really easy to encounter a lot of information from a variety of sources of various repute with no way of telling which are actually reliable & allowing you to form long-lasting and relatively insular communities and form echo chambers, puritanism) than that people watched marvel movies and their critical thinking skills immediately shrivelled up and died.

but that's also not to say marvel movies are a neutral entity - just that they're not solely responsible for the death of all art or anything, they just suck ass, aren't good, and also are military/imperialist propaganda. which is the real reason why no one should watch them

This is a personal post but it'll probally end up in some tag because Tumblr sucks like that, censoring words to prevent that. I'm never going to forget how even the people claiming to be prop*lestine managed to reduce P*lestinians to a tool or a spectacle, or managed to dehumanize them in some other way. Like turning this conflict into "which religion is most evil: Isl*m vs J*daism edition" or treated this like some sort of trend to get attention on the internet.

There are so many things that keep coming out of this that I'm thinking about. People in my life who are still on the "vote blue" train after watching B*den fully endorce and aid fucking genocide. People who don't even question the systems they live under after this.

If you say free P*lestine but still flat out refuse to really think about how you view people of color, government and police, people who don't look like you, I simply do not trust you. "no, the earth is flat. basic science." "i love the logic that planes can't just fly over land" and neil posts it with the caption "sometimes *laughing emoji, laughing emoji, facepalm emoji*" and the responses are all "is humanity going down the drain?" to which everyone says "yes" or "you can't use your inability to comprehend science to debate its fact" or some shit like girl. it's a joke. i scrolled through HUNDREDS of comments and VERY few recognized this (probably because they don't get the most interaction cause they were sorted by "most relevant" but that's still a sign of something). more people were saying shit like "let's not give attention to flat earthers cause it just fuels the fire" IT'S A JOKE THEY TALK ABOUT COMMON SENSE BEING DEAD HOLY FUCK

ugh anon... ugh....like i don’t... talk about it because I hate it and there are ppl who follow me who are actually invested in this series... but honestly i really hate it and for a lot of reasons all of which boil down to very personal and emotional things: since i sometimes get random asks about Boruto that really just... aren’t what I care about, maybe this is as good a time as any to break it down that I’m here for Naruto and Shippuden, not for Boruto because... well, it’s a laundry list: 

1) CH700 and Boruto was character assassination at its finest. Naruto as a series has many flaws, but I loved the characters in this series, and Boruto took the characters we know and love and shat all over them. Like that’s not to say Kishimoto never did because he certainly did that at times just fine on his own. But Boruto? No. These characters are not the characters I loved. At all. They are so blatantly out of character it’s laughable to even call this thing a spinoff. It’s a pathetic attempt at cashing in on the success of Naruto and honestly does the series, its characters, and its fans a huge disservice. It’s a slap in the face. 

2) it’s a fucking cash cow. it’s like watching the HP franchise continue to produce more unasked for content. I love HP, but I do not care about CC or FBaWtFT. I don’t care about Pottermore and all of JK’s bullshit. It’s the same with Naruto. I never asked for Boruto. I never asked for all those fucking dumbass novels that came after the end of the series. I never asked for the blatant homophobia of 700 or fucking Cursed Child. But people can make money off these things, so they keep rehashing the same shit in new unoriginal ways to steal money from ppl with an emotional investment in this series. 3) Probably my most important point: 700 and Boruto are blatantly homophobic. You can’t pretend that Kishimoto and everyone behind Naruto don’t know about SasuNaru, that they aren’t WELL AWARE of its popularity based on the CANON. I mean holy shit the Naruto and Sasuke seiyuu literally made a drama CD based on a SasuNaru fic. They fucking shipped Sasuke and Naruto together so hard. They wanted that shit to be canon. THE FUCKING VOICE ACTORS!!! 700/Boruto shoehorned every character into a heterosexual relationship so that all these characters can produce offspring that I largely have no emotional investment in for various and sundry reasons. A huge part of the character assassination that was committed was literally tied to the blatant homophobia in 700. You literally have a plot that is setting us up to believe that Boruto and Sarada are gonna be like a romantic thing????? that fucking KISS??!?! THE EXACT SAME KISS THAT NARUTO AND SASUKE HAD??? TO THE POINT IT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE JUST FUCKING TRACED OVER NARUTO AND SASUKE?!?! HOW FUCKING DARE! LIKE THEY SPAT IN THE FACE OF EVERY GAY PERSON WHO HAS BEEN EMOTIONALLY INVESTED IN NARUTO! Like not only is it fucking lazy ass writing, but it’s fucking homophobic. We get it! YOU HATE THE GAYS! But sure do love our money. 

4) Every fucking woman is a house wife? Really? REALLY? Temari and Karui just...up and left their villages? because marriage? and babies? like that’s such a fucking load of shit. Sakura. Ino. Tenten. All of them are just... house wives. Like I could accept Hinata--MAYBE, if and ONLY IF, she’d had any growth and been able to discover herself outside of Naruto and actually been allowed to like address any of the issues of her fucked up clan. But like she didn’t. Neji died so she could be a housewife with a man who barely knows her and a man she barely fucking knows. God. The misogyny of the writing continues in how its presented the female characters we love--from all of them being housewives (or in Tenten’s case having a failing weapons business?) to them being fucking abusive mothers/wives. Character assassination wrapped up in sweet misogyny AND homophobia. 

5) None of these characters are good anymore. None of the important points of the series matter. The Uchiha clan massacre? That literal state sanctioned genocide? Who cares. No one needs to know the truth. Caste system of the Hyuuga clan? Bah! It’s fine. Hinata’s horrible fucking abusive ass dad is so happy to have his grandbabies. Never mind the literal hell he put his daughter and nephew through. All’s forgiven! Naruto is a bad fucking Hokage who has done NOTHING to bring the crimes Konoha has committed to light, done nothing to change this horrible fucking militaristic system they live in that’s abused and killed countless CHILDREN. Like Naruto is just flat out bad at everything. He and Sasuke are bad fucking dads. Like he and Sasuke were these kids who were orphaned, who were abused, who were neglected--and they’re not just struggling as parents they are actively bad and awful. It’s like why? What was the point of that? Why even make these ppl parents if they don’t even seem to care about their kids? 

6) Rehashing the same fucking shit. Boruto’s got some prophecy about him, he’s probably gonna defect and destroy everything he loves or what-the-fuck-ever. He and Salad kiss the same way fucking Naruto and Sasuke kissed. Metal Lee and Shinki fight during the Chuunin exams. Like I don’t fucking watch or read this. This is what I know of the rehashing, and it’s like so dull. I don’t care. at all. 

Like I won’t pretend that I’m reading or watching this series, so I can’t really say much more about the actual plot (which I literally don’t care about) or any other possible bad rehashing of things that have been done or will be done. Truthfully I know far more about this series than I ever wanted to by default of being involved in fandom, but that being said it’s just a fucking unoriginal rehash in a lot of ways to get more money. And even if it wasn’t I don’t care! It could have the most interesting plot, the most complex and masterfully woven story and I would not give two shits about it. It could be more politically charged than Naruto and I’d still rather burn it all to the ground and spend my time writing fix-it fics. 

Like if ppl have an emotional investment in Boruto and these new kids and the story, that’s fine! Good for them, do you, be happy. But quite frankly I don’t care and it’s exhausting thinking about this series that makes me so fucking angry because of how fucking dirty it did characters I love, and how fucking homophobic and misogynistic its entire existence is. Like I’m nice to ppl who send me asks about it because w/e, it’s not worth being like an asshole to someone who just wants to talk about it, but ultimately sending me asks about Boruto is just... I don’t care about the series, I don’t know about the series, and it does nothing for me to talk about this series but make me angry. Like I have friends who like it, and like good for them but I honestly don’t want to talk about it much because of all the above things. And I don’t want someone coming to me tryna convince me that I’m wrong, or that I should give it a chance. I do NOT care. I do not. You cannot make me look at 700 and say there’s potential. You cannot make me look at the characters I love being done this dirty. And you cannot make me get over the blatant homophobia. Like y’all go right ahead and enjoy it. I don’t care. I’m not gonna sit around and rain on your parade, but honestly I just... don’t want to talk about Boruto at all if I can help it. 

My opinions and feelings on it go this far. I will say I like some of the kids in like a distant way. As if they were cute fandom OCs--Chouchou is wonderful, Shikadai has done nothing wrong by nature of his existence because ShikaTema is good and wonderful and was always gonna be canon (literally the only good endgame), Metal is a pure child who deserves the world and two dads who love him, Inojin has kinda grown on me that fugly lookin alien child. Like I really do sort of just divorce these children from the series as a whole so I can still enjoy making fun posts about Metal being Lee and Gaara’s son, or appreciate the existence of Choucou or Shikadai. But... that’s like the extent of my positive feelings on this series. I will never have positive feelings about it beyond that. So like /shrug emoji/

I hope it's okay for me to ask you about this here - I didn't want to "comment dumb" on your not me high school au that you wrote for fun😂 I'm probably getting a bit in my own head about this, but I don't understand why you censored the self harm mention in the A/N, since ao3 has a really good filtering system w the tags/doesn't really do censorship the way tumblr for example does. To me it seems like you did a really nice job of warning for it, and treating it respectfully, but not saying the words makes it seem like a slur - like you shouldn't generally discuss it. however it does nothing for people who might be triggered by it. we will most likely recognise any "slang" version of the term that there's ever been. It kind of bugs me, since that "tabooness" was a big part of why it personally took me a long time to talk about my own experience with sh which was ultimately what really helped me recover because i destigmatised it for myself. maybe you have a reason and I'd love to hear your thought process about it - but it's such a sensitive topic so if you don't want to answer this I get it. Thank you for sharing the fic in any case, I really found it very sweet and have enjoyed it in the post-final wallowing 💜💜💜

A little more personal - All of Black's character backstory involving sh and White's experience is straight from my own experience. I suffer terribly with sh, it's like my horrible habit I can't get rid of.

my senior year of hs I had bandcamp coming up. I was so freaking stressed about it and I went super maniac and just did my usually sh to calm down. Then i swear to God dread consumed because I realized I had to wear short sleeves because our camp is in the summer. Which my mania said 'yep, we're done. time to go!' and I tried to ya know -argh- myself that night.

I told my older sister the next morning, I took a very large amount of medication and it made me super sick and also insanely calm. I got medically instituted and I was PISSED. My boyfriend at the time had no clue, my phone got taken because I was texting my best friend terrible stuff. It was shitty, and I wanted to leave, because I never thought my sh was that bad... I had a terrible set of internet friends that egged me on and I just wanted to stop everything. It was while I was locked away that I realized that a lot of people cared about me. I just remember laying in my room just sobbing my eyes out with a photograph of my mom and sister in my arms, vowing I was going to get better for them.

First them, then myself.

It was in my journey that truly opened my eyes. I got really into death, caring for the dead and embalming. I was already really into gore because of my sh, and it was when I started realizing that it wasn't a fascination with blood and nasty stuff-- it was death. I kind of signed my ass up for mortuary school for a last resort, because I honestly didn't think I was going to live that long. It ended up being a super good decision, I love my job, caring for those mourning and dressing those to be viewed.

Just sometimes I'll get someone on my table, young people, my age, and I think to myself-- That could of been you bitch. Aren't you glad ur not dead in a ditch somewhere? It's harsh, but I'm normally super harsh on myself.

I still cut, I won't lie. I get in moods and it calms me, but it sucks, because I can't rid of the habit.

I think because I am revisiting a lot of my school experiences and projecting Black's character as a angry-version of myself, it's how it sounds so realistic, but still hold a joke because it's a funny joke to me. I think there are two types of sh ppl, the one's that can joke and the other that can't-- or is scared to. I am just one of those people that can read myself to filth and I put this trait on Black, because he just feels like the type of self depricating people.

It's a little different from both an outside pov and inside pov. In the Black/Gram fic, there is very speific part that talks about Black sh and -ARGH- himself from Gram while not truly talking about in Black's pov, because from an outsider pov Gram is hurt by this. Scared for Black while Black pov he could care less. He struggled with this for years and from me I never truly focus on my coping. It's just there and it's dumb but I do it. He's getting help and he still doesn't see it as a bad thing, which it is. I'm not saying do it lol.

My advice to you anon, from someone who has hit rock bottom and still sometimes will hit it, there's only up from there. Celebrate succession and don't dwell on failing if you do slip up. Su su na :-)!

Remus and Janus meet on Tumblr dot com, because of course they do. 

Remus’ blog is a bunch of cursed and unsettling shit and stuff like that. And he also writes on their a lot, his stories often portraying disturbing situations people would rather not think about and distorting cliches until they're near unrecognizable. He puts lots and lots of effort into his work, contrary to popular belief, and puts a lot of himself in them. 

Janus is an ✨artist✨ and his blog is vv nice, it's really organized, he has a tagging system in place, and all that jazz. (He reblogs a bunch of snake pictures and gushes about them in the tags akdjshsh not a relevant detail, but it's important).

So anyways, the two meet when they're both in high school. Janus is a big fan of Remus’ work, he reblogs all of his stuff and leaves nice stuff in the tags, and one day at the wonderful hour of 3am (or. it's that time for Remus anyways ajdhshs idk) he decides to shoot him a message saying he really admired his writing. 

And Remus, who is awake for night terror reasons, sees the message and goes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because what the fuck?? Someone likes his writing???? Someone is praising him for his writing?????????????

So yeah, Remus is v not used to receiving compliments akdjshdh. 

And he voices the surprise before he could even think about it, and Janus is just like bro your writing is literally amazing??????????? I could go on and on about it for hours????

And Remus is like. Well I wouldn't stop you if you did, not thinking Janus would actually do it, but then Janus actually sends him a few lengthy paragraphs pointing out metaphors and word choice and foreshadowing. And then he ends it with “and that's all I can think of off the top of my head” and Remus is absolutely floored by the implications behind that message. 

So Remus wasn't like yes I like this person almost immediately and continues to message him after that. It takes him a few days to realize that he hadn't asked for a nickname. Or pronouns. And he was at a point where it would be weird to ask so he calls him Eden, after his url slithering-into-eden (not a big detail but it's important god dammit).

And then one day Remus goes into Janus’ blog where he gains that information, and he's like oh duh i should've just checked his blog sooner. But anyways, he scrolls and oh my fucking god. This dude is so fucking talented?? What the fuck?? Someone with talent was following him?? And talking to him??

So yeah he scrolled for a long time when he came across a picture of him, and Remus was like. WHAT THE F U C K A PRETTY TALENTED BOY IS FOLLOWING AND TALKING TO ME??????

And he has a small gay panic right then and there because holy shit this guy has seen me reblog some stupid ass shit oh no. 

And anyways, they keep talking and eventually they fall ✨in love✨ and start dating. 

The distance wasn’s generally a challenge, it's the only thing they've ever known and neither of them were afraid of the other being unfaithful. And with how much they spoke it felt like they were always actively a part of each other’s lives. But it did get really rough sometimes because well. They wanted to be there for each other. Because on some nights Remus would just call Janus after a vv bad night terror, and he's crying and panicking, and the only thing Janus could do is talk to him when what he wants to do is hug him and hold him close and assure him that it's safe. 

But he can't and that stings. 

After a while the topic of meeting up did come up, and Janus insisted he go to Remus because there is no way in hell he was making Remus waste money on a plane ticket just to get to his shitty apartment, no sir, he was a gentleman. 

So Janus started his “go visit Remus fund”  where he deposited as much money as he could from his job and basically any and all commission money he got. 

And then. He buys a plane ticket. And Remus freaking squeals so loud because HEA FINALLY GOING TO SEE HIS BOYFRIEND!!! And he's so damn excited and so is Janus and absolutely zero happy tears were shed thank you very much. 

But despite the excitement it doesn't really hit until the day Janus arrives. 

Remus is just. So nervous. Because this was the first time he was going to see Janus right in front of him for real, not on a computer screen in shitty quality. And oh fuck he wasn't ready, he was gonna fuck this up, he was gonna do something wrong and ruin Janus’ trip and—

And then he saw Janus and Janus saw him and time seemed to stop as they both just freeze because did he just get prettier what the f u c k. 

Remus is like sprinting full speed at him before he even knows it, and Janus puts down his bags and opens his arms, and Remus nearly tackles him to ground. They both hug each other tightly, and just being like “I can't believe you're actually here,” and NO there was absolutely 100% no crying in each others arms. 

When they pull back from the hug they make sure to hold each other's hand as they walk out of the airport, just cherishing the touch while it lasts. And that's how it is during Janus’ entire stay. They stay close together, and hold each other in any ways possible, and. And they have their first kiss. And it's magical. 

Janus does eventually leave, and they're both really sad because now that they've experienced benign so close how could they go back to being satisfied with video calls????? But they're both hopeful for the future, and know that's one day the distance between them would be gone and they'd be able to hold and kiss and see each other as much as they want.
