Vincenzo & Han-Seo Headcanons
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous: Requested by anon: Hello! Can you please write dating headcanons for Vincenzo? For reader's background : Reader's family used to be close friends with the Cassano family. Vincenzo and Paolo both always loved her. But she left for Korea because she didn't like it there. When Vincenzo went to Korea, he searched for her and they worked together. And when Paolo came to take revenge on him, he saw her. 💥💥 bonus points if Hanseok/Hanseo also loves her. Tysm 😊
Pairing: Vincenzo Cassano x fem!reader (a bit of Han-Seo x fem!reader)
Word Count: 0.6k words
Vincenzo hated the fact that he and Paolo both liked you
because it creates a riff between the brothers
you seem to notice this too
it's yet another reason for you to leave
when you do, it is sudden
you just tell them you're going to Korea only a minute before you step on the plane
then you're gone
years later, Vincenzo heads to Korea as well
not because of you, but it's definitely a bonus for him
he does not know where you live, but he's quick to find out
mafia skills after all, he can track down a person with ease
you are glad to see him
until you find out what he's there for and how
but you help him out nonetheless, after all he is your friend
and a dear friend to you at that
maybe more, but you weren't going to admit that
when you meet Han-Seo for the first time, when he first comes to the plaza, you can only laugh as you see him gawk at you
he, unlike Vincenzo, is very open with his affection
the first time, he is literally just staring at you
you think he's cute
Vincenzo finds it annoying
he won't admit he's jealous of course
it becomes a funny sight for onlookers and you just find it hilarious
because on one hand you have Han-Seo
who is very forward, but still shy
and then you have Vincenzo
who is basically a tsundere as he won't admit his feelings
Han-Seo doesn't mind that Vincenzo likes you too, clearly
The same could not be said of Vincenzo, who hates that Han-Seo likes you too
but as the mission continues and Han-Seo grows on him, Vincenzo seems to mind less and less
when Han-Seo actually asks you out, he also asks Vincenzo
which is a bit weird at first, but you don't mind much
the date is fun for all three of you
it happens a few more times, always all three of you
Han-Seo is clearly in love with both you and Vincenzo
much like a puppy
Vincenzo is mostly in love with you, but he has a soft spot for Han-Seo
you just liked both men
they're special in their own ways
one cute puppy and one tsundere cat (aka Han-Seo and Vincenzo respectively)
it's Han-Seo that asks you and Vincenzo out
you accept
Vincenzo does too, but he doesn't directly say it
just grunts and such
the relationship is fun
Han-Seo is a cuddler
Vincenzo is more of a watcher
it's because of his mafia stand, Vincenzo can't relax himself much
but he loves to watch how you and Hans-Seo relax, usually in each other's arms
When Paolo comes to Korea to kill Vincenzo
as Vincenzo walks up to the roof, he is painfully aware of the three men on his tail
as they pounce him, he grabs one of the men and puts a gun to his head
"Did Paolo send you?" Vincenzo asks in Italian
the men scoff before freezing as they hear another click of a gun
you put it against the man's head that is pointing his at Vincenzo
"Note of advise, we're always together" you growl as you push your gun closer against the man's skull
the men leave and you pull out your phone, calling Paolo
when he answers, you start cursing at him in Italian
Paolo is completely quiet on the other side of the phone as you cuss him out
does not call back after you hung up on him
Now...
let's talk about the end of the series
You're not there when Han-Seo dies
Han-Seok is dead as Vincenzo holds Han-Seo's body
You only find out the day after it happened as Vincenzo comes home, eyes red and looking as tired as you've ever seen him
he tells you what happens while hugging you
holds you as you cry over Han-Seo's death
he tries to stay strong for you, forcing himself to not cry
you and Vincenzo visit Han-Seo's grave every month for as long as you're in Korea
if you do ever move back to Italy, you will visit Han-Seo's grave twice a year
his birthday and the day of his death

This is a long one !! sorry!! here's some true brothers angst thinking (with comfort at the end) for you guys though <33 (also read the tags after reading this if you do read this maybe cos I go on another mini ramble lmao)
Thinking about maybe when Hanseo and Vincenzo live together in Malta, since all Hanseo’s ever known is getting abused (both physically and verbally) and hurt over any mistake he made no matter how small, he automatically assumes Vincenzo will do the same to him (of course he would, that's what he “deserves”, right?).
So he tests the water with Vincenzo a bit.
To see what Vincenzo’s limits were, what to avoid doing to not get hurt, what the unspoken rules were (after all Hanseok had plenty).
It starts with small things, not tidying up after himself, breaking a plate “accidentally”, leaving milk out to spoil (also “accidentally”).
But Vincenzo doesn’t hurt him.
He helps Hanseo clean up the plate he dropped, checking to see for any possible injuries. He casually tells him to remember to put his things away when they’re all over one of the rooms. He only ever lightly scolds him (it was more a reminder than anything) in a light tone to make sure to not leave out the milk out next time for too long because it’ll spoil, but it was fine, that they could just ask a maid to add milk onto the grocery list.
It both confuses and scares Hanseo.
It meant he didn’t know what would set off Vincenzo, and he couldn’t handle the anxiousness that clawed at him whenever he was around him because of it.
Plus he was apart of the literal mafia, who knew what he and his mafia family (that also lived on the island) would do to Hanseo when angered?? He had seen first hand all of the various ways he toyed with Hanseok, and couldn't forget what Vincenzo had done to him before he joined his side, so who knew what methods he'd use when angered?? He needed to find out what to avoid, and fast.
Vincenzo starts noticing and asks if somethings wrong and why he's been avoiding him, to which Hanseo was terrified (and slightly relieved) that this was when the other shoe would drop and Vincenzo would shout at him or hit him.
But that never happened.
When Hanseo told him nothing was up, that he was struggling to sleep a bit lately so because of that he's just been a quite tired recently and out of it, Vincenzo seems to buy it and offered to get him a therapist, as after all it makes sense he’d be restless after everything that happened not too long ago in Korea. He ruffles his hair and leaves and Hanseo is just left shocked.
Why was he being so patient with him?? Hanseok would’ve hurt him at so many points in this test, why didn’t Vincenzo? (“Any other person would’ve by now right?”)
Was he toying with him? Making Hanseo more and more relaxed around him so that a real punishment would sting more and Hanseo would blame himself for it?
No, he shakes off that thought immediately. His hyung wouldn’t do something like that. It had to be something else.
He needs to know when the other shoe will drop. So he escalates things. Better to know now than fuck up later and have his hopes ruined.
So he keeps “forgetting” to go to his therapy appointments. He “tripped” and broke one of Vincenzo’s prized art pieces, he refuses to move his things or clean up after himself. He goes out to drink almost every day and comes home at like 3am, sometimes blasting loud music when Vincenzo's sleeping.
Anything. Anything for the second shoe to drop.
And eventually, Vincenzo can’t take it anymore, but it didn’t go as Hanseo expected it.
Vincenzo and him get in a huge argument, Hanseo’s refusing to listen (the shoe has to drop now right?) and Vin just exasperatedly like “why are you doing this?” but he isn't shouting at him or upset, just… concerned?
What??
Why wasn’t he mad??
As Vincenzo is asking him to explain why he was being like this Hanseo can’t bottle it up anymore and just bursts out with “because you won’t hurt me!!! why wont you hurt me??? just get it over with and scream at me for screwing up or slap me or anything! just do something so I'm not always anxious around you and... scared everything’s going to- I don’t know, straight up collapse at any moment or something!! just tell me what your rules are!!”
And that's when Vincenzo realises.
Oh.
His heart sinks. Because he now knows exactly why Hanseo’s doing this.
He’s trying to figure out what Vincenzo would hurt him for.
He thinks Vincenzo is going to hurt him eventually like Hanseok did.
Oh.
It takes Vincenzo a moment to process this and it's suddenly silent and Hanseo thinks this is when the other shoe has dropped.
He’s filled with fear once again, but this time it spills over any sort of relief he could’ve gotten at finally “finding out what Vincenzo’s limits were” because Hanseo can’t read Vincenzo’s face right now. He associates that unreadability with the unreadable expression Hanseok would have on his face before hurting Hanseo.
He's bracing himself to get shouted at or hurt so he goes back into Hanseok-mode and takes a step back, starting to cave in on himself as he's about to try to apologise and take back what he just said.
Thankfully, Vincenzo realises this and immediately snaps out of his head to reassure Hanseo. "Hanseo... I'm not going to hurt you... I was never planning on ever laying a hand on you. Ever. Nor was I planning to ever shout at you."
And Hanseo is just.
Stunned.
He doesn't know what to say so he's only responds with a meek "Why?"
For Vincenzo to be like "what Hanseok did to you wasn't normal or even okay in the first place, and you'll never get any of that horrible treatment from anyone again." (Vincenzo will make sure of that).
And Hanseo's just. speechless.
He can't figure out what to say or do so he's just there, starting to tear up like "hyung..."
Because this is when Hanseo realises that for the first time in his life, he's truly, truly safe now.
Because now he has a home, and he didn't just mean the island they lived on, but Vincenzo himself. Vincenzo was home to him, and he was more of a home to him than any fancy villa Hanseo had had before could've ever been.
Yeah, he'll be okay now.
After all, no matter what happens, he has his home to go back to.

Everything about that kidnapping scene was fucking GOLD.
Hanseo rushing to Cha Young's side the second he regains consciousness. Cha Young being worried about him. Taecyeon's acting. HIS ACTING HOLY FUCK. Cha Young telling him to kill her instead of using her to hurt Vincenzo. Vincenzo's rising anxiety, bitch I felt that through the screen. Hanseok using pig's blood on the necklace, I mean wbk he was unhinged but the mindfuckery 👌. Hanseo's reaction to his brother, he's scared out of his mind because he's the only one who knows the full extent of his brother's rage. Cha Young calling hanseok out every chance she gets even though he has a gun in his hand. She has a gun in her face and she doesn't fucking care any more and I love that. Vincenzo finally cracks and kneels down. Because the stakes are way too high and he can't risk it. Hanseo. HANSEO MY BBY the ball is in his court now. Vincenzo reassuring him, because he genuinely cares about him. "I'll make a decision I won't regret" it's not just about the loyalty here. It's also about hanseo finally taking back his freedom from his abusive dickhead brother. And then he does, he fucking swings at him with the bat and gets shot in the process but it doesn't matter because he's gotta take him down. Vincenzo rushing to untie Cha Young and get her out of the room because there's literally nothing more important to him rn. Chayoung taking a bullet for him, hanseok looking slightly terrified because he knows he fucked up and Vincenzo completely losing it. GOLD.

Why Jang HanSeo is so important for Vincenzo's victory against the bad guys
I guess this whole time I had been suspicious of Jang HanSeo because I didn't really understand what was what he wanted when everyone else's motives seemed pretty clear: power, money, justice, etc. I didn't get his motivation only knew he was being a puppet for his brother. I even thought he didn't even had the wish for autonomy, I thought he was so used to been used that he didn't wish for anything because that's all he ever knew.
And after ep 18 I finally understand that, if only Jang Han Seok would've been nicer (or at least not abusive) towards his brother, he would've been incredibly loyal to him, because he really has such a big capacity for that: if someone gives him a hand, guides him a little, or at the very least treats him like a human being (the bar is so low it breaks my heart) then he's willing to stand with them, help them. The loyalty he feels for Vincenzo is such a huge advantage to the good guys team that has literally saved lives. And Vincenzo knows and values that. He knows how important that is, how could he not? Despite growing up in a very different kind of family than most people, he understands the meaning of that word.
Jang HangSeok doesn't, because he's a psychopath incapable of understanding others' emotions but his own and doesn't see the point in relying on others for support and that's gonna be his downfall. I mean, it already is.
Vincenzo is not winning this on his own. Truth is he's never done any of it alone. He has people by his side who care about him and are willing to take risks just to protect him and each other, they're a family. And now one of those people is Jang HanSeo, the guy who only wanted a brother, who only desired a family, and to be respected and valued (I mean, who doesn't).
Jang HangSeok operates by fear, he doesn't know how to lead, how to inspire loyalty and trust. He doesn't have followers who believe in him, only people he pays for and can shift alliances as often as his mood changes. And because of it, he was always, always, meant to lose. But he could've had a chance, if he had only been nice to his little brother.

so,, hanseo and miri am i right. the ending never happened so take this headcanon-y / illiterate fic of thoughts as crumbs !!
okay, so, i was thinking, the reason why miri and hanseo don't get together straight away when they both realise their feelings is bc miri says no. don't get me wrong, hanseo has a lot of loyalty and love to give, and he's ready to give it to her. but she disagrees, bc she pushes him to talk through his traumas and realise where he sits in all of it. she wants him to understand himself first bc he's never had the chance to put himself first. she doesn't believe that it would be healthy with his current mental state to jump into another connection so quickly. instead, they take the time, they sit and study so that he can get better at being the chairman, she strokes his hair and protects him from his night terrors whenever he accidentally falls asleep at her place, and he talks to a third party to pinpoint who exactly he is amongst all the messes he's been forced through. she reminds him that there's a little jang hanseo sitting inside of him, in a little locked room that he's kept to himself because he doesn't want to see his true self get abused when his brother has taken everything else from him. he wanted to keep that side of him to himself, at least there was something that he could protect. honestly, going through therapy, he allows himself to realise that the idea of unlocking that room absolutely terrifies him. bc what if he retreats back into that dark place again? what if he allows himself to care for miri but he can't protect them like he couldn't protect his parents, or anyone else around him? and it takes a lot of effort to even get there.
but miri takes him aside, brushes her hand against his and tells him that she loves him for the first time. mind you, this is about a year after the events of the show, but they've been growing side by side this whole time, and when miri loves, she falls deeply. she realises now that she was so absorbed in the thrill of liking someone like vinny, after all, everyone seemed to be romantically interested in that man. but she understands that there wasn't really any truth to it. she's found it hard in the past to feel attachments or really any sort of attraction to people, living a very secular life. so that's why, when she sees these very visceral reactions to the man's looks, she honestly couldn't help but internally look at him the same way. it's like the awe that one may feel when they view a great piece of art, or an amazing scene in a film. there's always a disconnect between the viewer and the subject at hand. but it was a different matter when it came to her puppy.
she'd remembered the first time that she saw him, ducking behind pillars, looking like he was trying to be some goofy spy in that smart suit of his. he'd raise a hand to swipe away a few strands that would fall across his forehead and she couldn't help but wish that she knew what it was like to run her fingers through his hair. the attraction was like a lightning bolt that shot straight through her spine - and that was terrifying to her. so the initial times, she finds that she doesn't purposefully try to interact with the man. happy to stand and observe. miri has gotten so used to being the observer. never the participator.
that changed when he got himself sent to the hospital after being shot. the residents whispered behind palms about how the young man had saved their infamous lawyer pair, but she couldn't help but curse the italian. she knows of his prowess, she knows that he has ten times the fighting ability compared to hanseo. she would stomp back to her studio, something wild spreading across her mannerisms - utterly confusing any other resident around.
in all honesty, she's never been one for hospitals. but she makes hanseo food everyday. she doesn't trust whatever they give patients in hospitals anyway, and she knows that she has a few cooking tricks up her sleeve. they never really see each other, and she has always asked another resident to take the food to him. (a different one every time. she doesn't really know how she'd respond if anyone ever questioned her actions, especially when she's not completely sure why she's doing what she's doing either ... ) it takes a couple of days, but she slowly moves to his rhythm. taking notice of the foods that he likes, the ones that he didn't. now stopping outside of his hospital room to peer through the little window, elated at the look of sheer happiness that spreads across his puppy-dog features every time he sees a visitor with an entourage of containers for him. (maybe this is where his pet. name came from). even as things become a bit more normal, and he finds himself over in the plaza more often, the two would continue to peak glances at each other. her, wanting to see him smile like that again. him, mildly hurt that the only girl who had been playing on his mind for months had not gone to see him in the hospital. it's only after he finally asks her, and she abruptly poses whether he would like to study with her every night, does one of the other residents let miri's daily cooking habits slip.
she notices the distinct shift in his behaviour towards her, but he won't ever discuss the new nugget of knowledge till years later, and she'll get flushed and embarrassed at the fact that he's known all this time.
anyways, it takes a year and a half of talking twice a week to crack down on the deepest fears that hanseo has held onto for so long. all the residents know when it's happened bc they see the visible change. he's similar to how he's always been, but it seems like there's something lighter about him. like there's something that has been finally put to rest; the man looks like he has found a little bit of the peace that he deserves, at very last. when he visits the plaza, he's gotten rid of the stiff suits in dark colours. this rigid business attire had been his method of camouflaging into a wall of corporate faces - maybe his brother would aim a sharp object at the wrong person, one of those that he had cloned himself into looking like around him. it worked on some occasions. but this experience had taught him that these clothing decisions had become survival for him, and that was surely not a sustainable way to continue living. so most residents would stop to flick their eyes over the young man as he passes. his simple caramel turtleneck and blazer combo seeming too settled in the middle of the two extremes that the male usually fell in between.
rumour has it, the man literally dipped the apple to his eye, the woman who had waited for him to get healthy for a year and a half, the only sun he sees, nearly off of her feet when he steals their first kiss. they'd waited this long for it to occur, they may as well make it magical.
( are these crumbs okay?? hes not dead!! nope, that was false!! that never happened!!)

okay one big post to get the finale out of my system! it's been lovely reading all of your analyses and reactions, and looking at all your amazing gifs and edits :')
fair warning: this is going to be so stinking long omfg
the things i enjoyed:
vincenzo remaining an anti-hero through and through, especially the fact that he didn't hold back at all when it came to myunghee and hanseok's death. he gave them a taste of their own medicine and then some forreal, their deaths were brutal but oddly satisfying, and i'm saying this as someone who usually hates violence/gore. throughout the show, they've always hinted at what he was Truly Capable Of and boy did we get to see it
vincenzo fumbling in hanseok's house and not being his usual self – a lot of people thought it was ooc, which i understand! i felt like that was the Point, to show that for once, he's not the invincible mafia consigliere that everyone thinks he is. what he did to the man who killed his mother and the army of security guards was a reaction, but this is the first time he's flustered, caught at a disadvantage, and faced with the very real possibility that he might lose somebody incredibly important to him. idk it made him more human to me
vincenzo literally not hesitating for even 0.1 seconds to fold his entire body around hers when he thought hanseok was going to shoot again – yeah that whole bit made my heart clench i feel like a crazy person i won't get over it
the chayenzo hospital scene... my god it was so tender my heart broke. the laugh they both shared, out of sheer relief that she's okay. the little joke about paying for the private room. the way not much was being said, but everything was being said at once. the way they looked at each other, as if it wouldnt ever be enough :( the quiet acceptance that this is their last night together, and that he's going to have to kill a bunch of people after this, but for now they have this. for however brief.
chayoung being chayoung – her big ass personality at the courtroom at the end after winning ms oh's case. her hopping around in those heels, looking elegant and sleek, mocking the hell out of rich conglomorates. she's in her element again and it made me so, so happy to see. i absolutely adore her, she's everything really. after all that loss and the whole ordeal, i'm glad she's able to return to what she does best: putting capitalists back in their place
mr lee being Very Much Not Dead – idk how i wouldve been able to handle it after witnessing hanseo's death like im glad he got the chance to be a dad
the kiss – my god....
the things i didn't like:
hanseo's death – lmao is it even a surprise... say what you will about his death being foreshadowed, but i really just hated hated it. i hate that hanseok won this one. i hate that hanseo worked so hard to redeem himself, only to lose it all. i hate that he was given a taste of what a real family was like, and then having it taken away so cruelly. even though i said above that i didn't mind that vincenzo was ooc at the mansion, i was still screaming at the screen because there were plenty of opportunities for the situation to be reversed. i don't necessarily blame vincenzo for hanseo's death, but i do wish that they had a funeral scene for him. i wish they acknowledged his sacrifice, and how pivotal he was in turning the tables. if not for hanseo, vincenzo really couldn't have pulled any of this off, from the interpol tipoff to the tracking device in the watch. idc idc hanseo is in malta rn, enjoying the sun and the beach, going to therapy, and teaching the local kids how to play hockey even though there's no ice :(
chayoung being bedridden the whole finale – like... NAH lmao this aint it chief... if things went my way, she wouldve gotten out of the hospital depite her injury and dealt with myunghee before handing her off to vincenzo. i loved their animosity for each other, and i wanted chayoung to be the one at myunghee's apartment waiting for her, rubbing it into her face. i wanted chayoung to verbally finish myunghee with that sharp ass tongue of hers and really dump a load of salt on her wounds. then vincenzo could do whatever the hell he wanted. you could argue that the show is called Vincenzo but i really dont care lmao it started with chayoung avenging her dad and she should've been able to strike the final blow. also what was her big second party? are we really just going to ignore her capacity for evil? after all that moral work done, after that time she spent coming to terms with using evil to combat evil, we're just going to... keep her bedridden? park jaebum u will pay for this
vincenzo losing his family – besides hanseo's death, i think this was what i hated the most from the ending. the start of the show showed us vincenzo's departure from the mafia with the very clear intention of Not Returning. the capo died, his loyalties lie with no one, paolo can suck it. throughout the show, we see him repeat over and over that he wants to get the gold and skip off to malta to enjoy a peaceful life there, while reflecting/repenting for the things he's done. vincenzo was gearing up for a lifetime of solitude. the whole point of the show was for him to find a real family and have a real chance at happiness. park jaebum really said FUCK THAT! we're gonna have him ditch the family that he built from scratch with the love of his life and then make him return to the family that tried to kill him AND make him the capo... pjb said we're gonna separate vincenzo from the family that accepts his past and sees it as a strength and not a weakness. the family that was formed out of solidarity, the family that he fought for and fought alongside with blood, sweat and tears. not to mention the goddaughter of his? sorry i would laugh if it didn't actually rile me up so bad
vincenzo not being able to come back to korea – i've said this in another post of mine, but given that he is The Vincenzo Cassano with all those resources at his disposal (guillotine file, mr ahn/mr cho/the chief etc.), the fact that he isnt even able to stay in korea for 30 fuckin minutes after finishing hanseok was ridiculous. the whole police chase was dumb as hell considering that the show has managed to stop politicians and mf presidential candidates from going after him like ? huh LMAO park jaebum had an on-demand pigeon army in this show and Yet he can't stop like 10 suddenly-righteous policemen. another big ass HUH
chayenzo (here we go...):
NOPE! i've reflected on the ending and decided that i'm going to be petty and salty for a while more before coming to terms with it
i can rationalise and try to be positive and tell myself that their love is enduring can transcend space and time and that in due time, they will find their way back to each other, and i have no doubt that they will because they're one soul in two bodies. it's quite literally canon that they're soulmates.
but let me wallow for a second
here we have two people who have done questionable and terrible things in their past coming together, growing together, grieving together, fighting together... you get the gist of it. you have two people who have found a home in each other. two people who, for all intents and purposes, were about to live in a whole lot of bitterness and solitude if not for each other and the life they built together (chayoung didn't have friends like that, and her family is gone too). to separate them like that at the very end is cruel. i know chayoung and vincenzo are mature and incredible and will be able to function without the other next to them. i know that they will still excel as lawyers and will defeat evil with their underhand methods the way they do so well but my god are they going to feel the absence and miss each other
my point is that they shouldn't have to. from what i could tell, they can't even communicate on a regular basis bc he'll be tracked and whatnot, hence the postcards. a postcard every month is a poor substitute for all those nights they stayed up drinking makgeolli and celebrating their wins. its a shitty replacement for coffee dates and fist bumps and all the moments in between. after everything they've been through, after literally fighting to death for their family, they don't deserve this. they don't deserve to meet up once a year for a couple of hours. they don't deserve pockets of time in malta or korea, their life in a perpetual countdown to when they're going to see each other next
they both deserve love and some semblance of peace (finally finally). they both deserve to have someone to come home to after a hard day of work, because doing what they do cannot be easy. they both deserve a family, deserve to have someone next to them that accepts their past and would embrace their future. they both deserve a hand to hold and a shoulder to lean on. i know they will still be It for each other despite the distance, i just wish the distance didn't even exist in the first place bc its stupid and cruel and their love shouldnt have to be proven or tested with time and space. let them stay together. let them grow together. let them be.
side note: song joongki and jeon yeobeen need another project together idc take it up with god
tl;dr: park jaebum u will be paying for my therapy bills

Helloo, I just finished Vincenzo and let me just say- my heart hurts😭 it was such an amazing show, I loved every aspect of it (EXCEPT Han Seo’s ending, I’m trying to paint out this picture of him healing and then leading Babel in peace). So I was just wondering how did you recover after watching the show? Any recommendations on similar shows or something that’s just as good? Also, your edits of Han Seo have truly honored him🥲
hi anon! *hugs* I totally feel your pain, I found it super cruel that they did that to him just now that he started to recover from his own pain, like they give everything to him just to take it away in 1 hour 😭 (and besides it makes zero sense that Vincenzo it's just... there, while Hanseo is fighting Hanseok and it pisses me off because it's so out of character for him to be that pasive in a situation like that when Chayoung was FINE). I really like that picture of yours :') Hmm, about how to recover, I kept watching a couple of shows that were on air at that time, but boy did I miss them :__ there are a few videos that the cast (okay just Joongki and Dongyeon because they couldn't let go either) did that could help!
here are joongki, the director and writer talking about the show while they watch some scenes, I personally find these things super interesting
joongki making a test that fans did (and being overly confident lmao)
joongki again visiting netflix's office and playing games (this was GOLD)
he also did an online fanmeeting and it's currently doing a series of videos on youtube that uploads on fridays talking about his characters, random interviews or playing games (there are a couple with yang kyung won, the actor who played lee cheol wook, they guy from the pawn shop, and they're so funny together) (also joongki it's a literal child)
some behind the scenes for seeing them being cute and adorable while we were suffering! (1) (2) (3) (4)
dongyeon did a "compliment me" interview which was ADORABLE
also this one on netflix, I feel like listening to him talk about han seo's ending made it easier for me to... accept what happened? (tho I still like to think that he's on that island with his hyung, hearing him say things like he got to be happy at the end helped a bit)
and he did a couple of interviews for photoshoots! the star, what's on his bag (nothing), esquire
also yeobeen on allure korea!
aaand for recommendations, from the recent ones, taxi driver also had that element of revenge and I liked it a lot, they changed the writer for the last six episodes and you can kinda see it, but the first 10 eps were *chef kiss*. ALSO: lee je hoon!!!!
in a totally different genre, move to heaven was amazing, tho if you haven't seen it you may want to take a couple of tissues :') (yes it also has lee je hoon on it 🤭), if you're into the supernatural thing, I LOVED sell your haunted house! (jang nara!!! and jung yong hwa!!!! i cry!!!!), which leads me to recommend hotel del luna too! . I think you could like flower of evil too? it has lee joongi and moon chae won, it's more on the suspense side but SO good. Also, it hasn’t end yet and I don’t like to talk about dramas that are still airing because the end can be... well you know, but I’m liking “Mine” more than I thought just because WOMEN!!!!!
maybe you have seen all of them tho, so tell me if you want more :D
also THANK YOU for saying that I honored han seo with the edits because I am on the floor with the most stupid smile on my face right now ily 🥺🥺💕

Vincenzo (final thoughts)
Tumblr media
For me, this show was always best enjoyed by laughing at its sheer craziness and randomness, reblogging the hell out of all the gifs of my favorite moments/scenes and just posting silly comments about the eps. It was never a show I had much meta about and even if I had it, a lot of people had better input than me lol and I actually didn’t have the time to write about it. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t love it. Because I did, a lot.
I think the strongest point of the show was always the consistency in its writing (the writer always stayed true to the tone of the drama, balancing -to a degree I almost never get to see in kdramas- the humor, the tragedy, heartfelt moments, the development of the plot, use of side characters, the villains’ plans and the romance with two characters that I adored together and individually), but the directing, acting and the chemistry between actors made everything perfect to me.
I just loved the show. So far, it’s my favorite 2021 kdrama. I know, it’s barely May, and there are tons of kdramas starting this week, but what can I say? Vincenzo stole my heart. The dark random and silly humor of the show it’s exactly the kind of humor I enjoy and one that fits perfectly if you absolutely have to put jokes and plot twists with big evil conglomerates, dirty politicians, a messed up law system along with a bunch of crimes and murders (seriously how many people got killed in this drama? I lost count.) The side characters, who I rarely care about in kdramas, were super fun and I actually loved the whole Cassano Family. I even liked the villains because, while not the most brilliant or complex, they succeded at being bad and totally unhinged, with no boundaries.
And the romance? Man, I can’t believe that I’m saying this but I never cared too much about the “little” focus it received. Because it was there, every episode (even from the start, you can see Vincenzo’s reaction when he sees ChaYoung for the first time): they had trust and respect for each other, they had these gentle touches, these unspoken tender moments, soft looks, amazing hugs, a GREAT first kiss, they cared for each other... and they were literally ready to die for each other.  And I said this before, but their romance, their bond, was even better portrayed than any 16 ep romcom would’ve ever done. No silly arguments, no unnecesary separations, no Noble Idiocy, no love triangle, no petty fights, no stupid jealousy moments... the list goes on. The romance was not even the second or third most important plot in the story, but it didn’t need to be. It was perfect as it was. Yes, I would’ve loved to see more romantic moments, and kisses, but it was not neccesary for the audience (not for them for that matter) to know what Vincenzo and ChaYoung had.
And a drama (that doesn’t sell itself as a romance) that manages to show me how much OTP love each other without ever using the words “I love you” although Vincenzo did say it before their 1st kiss or doing grand and explicit romantic gestures, it’s a hell of a good drama in my books as a romance lover.

Am I sad for the ending? Nah. I think it was perfect. I was never expecting a super happy ending and Vincenzo was, at best, an antihero, so I knew he wouldn't get a HEA. Hell, he even said he didn't want to live obeying justice, because he didn't believe in it. The ending for him, for the OTP, was as good as it was gonna get. In my mind, ChaYoung will visit him on his island from time to time and Vincenzo will try to go to Korea as much as he can. It was basically the CLOY ending all over again.
I will always be sad by HanSeo's death, but I understand why the writer did it, even if I didn't like it. Choi MyungHee and HanSeok's deaths were just *chef's kiss* a delight to watch. They were monsters so there was no question that they needed to be gone, but of course a quick and peaceful death was something they didn't deserve. The cruelty of their final moments was the karma they brought on themselves.
I still remember when I decided to sit and watch the first episode, wanting to laugh about how bad it was gonna be because I’d read many comments saying it just didn’t make sense and the biggest joke was on me when five minutes in I knew I was loving the show, and after the first 2 eps, I knew I was gonna watch it till the end. And here we are. It’s been a long time since I got withdrawal symptoms from a kdrama, but I’m already feeling them with this one.
