Mad Monster Party 2024 I finally got to meet John Glover who is literally the sweetest man ever!! Also saw Tom Welling for the 5th (?) time and didn't have enough cash so I couldn't get a pic w/ Rosenbaum (😭) although I've met him a bunch of times before and my daughter is really shy & Welling is the only one who doesn't freak her out anyway so it all worked out.

#maybe it's because I live in the city of white people who cosplay as american thugs #where everyone has a blaccent despite there being almost no black people #but I find this outrage over white tumblr users not listening to rap music just. incredibly pointless #there is no shortage of white rap fans #but you're not gonna find them on the 'thats cultural appropriation' and 'stay in your lane' website #like there's a long history of criticism here for white people who act/dress/talk black #but those are the ones who immerse themselves in black music and culture so like which is it #I just think it's a weird expectation that people only engage with the right parts of a culture or they're doing it wrong #you want becky to listen to rap music but if she talks about it or uses the slang or tries the same hairstyles its bad and cringe #🙄

and no plans today, just working on things as usual! but i did "celebrate" halloween last friday and sunday, attending two separate halloween-related events :)

my roommates and i dressed up as the powerpuff girls (i was blossom)

I can't fucking believe that I procrastinated my gender for like. A good three years.

#Like in fairness I was in an incredibly abusive environment already #Questioning my gender was the last fuckin thing I needed so I was just like “that's a problem for later”#Butttttttttt... Now I've got no idea what I'm doing #Like I've cut my hair??? I like looking like a boy????#But I also know that a few months ago I was straight up wearing floor length skirts on the daily and braiding my hair with flowers??????#and my definition of “boy” and “man” is so inherently fucked up bc of the abuse that I'm unwilling to actually use those words???#And I chose the name I use for a reason as a promise (long story) but it's really feminine????#And it'd be nice if people would be ok with using two different names for me if it turns out I am genderfluid but?????#They almost certainly won't??????#Like most of them refuse to use my chosen name anyway and I'm just. To polite to correct them.#no I'm not canadien I'm british #Anyway help?#Bc I realised all this the other day LITERALLY AN HOUR before I went on stage and almost had a complete breakdown??????#good news is there's this trans boy in my performing arts group and he was so nice and supportive that I didn't cry in the end #much anyway but still??????
