“Hey” Nancy chirps from her vanity, heavily concentrating on her mascara application.  “Hey” Jonathan replies softly, kissing the top of her hair before sitting on the edge of her bed.  “I thought you were going to wear your blue sweater?”  she frowns, reaching for some other product in her Caboodle.  “I was until my mom put it in the wash for no reason” He explains, trying his best to hide his annoyance.  Nancy takes a deep breath. He should know better than to try and hide his emotions from her by now. She can see right through him and it never really ends well.  “Please tell me you're not still fighting with her” She pleads so desperately that he feels compelled to lie again, just to put her at ease.  “I’m not still fighting with her” he maintains, only slightly sarcastic. “Jonathan” Nancy sighs, quickly turning to glare at him.  “What?! She started it” he defends, because really she did he just wanted a nice, tame, boring Hawkins Christmas.  “Seriously?” she chastises, furrowing her brow.  “Well I'm not the one that doesn't want us to get married” Jonathan seethes, his frustration and hurt bubbling back up to the surface.

Something's Wrong: Casey's POV

All of Leo's family for the last year: He's acting weird, what does any of this mean?!

The one who's known him for a month and only ever sees him happy: That dude wants to fly and honestly MOOD

I like to think Cass and Leo would get along well after a while! Casey grew up in a cult clan that views emotions as weakness, and weakness can get you killed. Leo learned to hide his own emotions so as not to worry anyone, and instead bases his personality around their two biggest TV idols. Their masks are near flawless, built up from years of practice, but it's a lot easier to see through a mask when you have one of your own...

And that was the last of Something's Wrong! Onto... Idk, something else!!

Also, a bit about COI Cass: She had parents as a little child that treated her as such. She was read fantasy books and was fascinated with adventures and knights and dragons. Then those parents died, and she was brought into the Foot to be a soldier. There, she was taught that dragons were ruthless monsters that deserved to be extinct. It never really sat well with her, but y'know. This was her new family, afterall. Her new purpose. No matter how poorly she was treated.

"You have plenty of friends!"

"Not like that. Not waiting-in-a-hospital-room level friends."

"Bullshit."

Tommy stares. "What?"

"Bullshit. Last time you were in the hospital, you didn’t even let me tell your friends about it."

"It wasn’t anything serious!"

"You were in the hospital, Tommy, that makes it serious! If you want people to be there during the important moments, you-- you have to actually tell them when the important moments are, you idiot!"

"Don’t call me an idiot--"

"Why not? You’re acting like one. You-- you act like you’re just-- so hard to love, but you’re not! Everyone thinks you’re cool, and-- and everyone likes being around you, and you know who you are and no one thinks you’re--" he swallows, "-- you’re too much, but you don’t let anyone in and then you complain that-- that no one knows you. How is anyone supposed to know you if you don’t let them? How was I supposed to?"

Man feels like I can’t get ANYTHING finished no more—finals week is rounding the corner, steadily approaching like a dreaded blizzard about to topple me over. I’m seconds away from being bulldozed by the workload. Unfortunately, I don’t animate quick enough to make up for the lost time…so everything’s kinda in a limbo state of unfinished frames. Easier to get rough movements down then polish anything

I have intentions to work on these more (these aren’t the final versions), but feel like it’s necessary to post the WIP here just to keep everyone informed. I don’t want to seem like I’ve gone on for too long without something to show. Thanks for the patience and hopefully some of these animatic ideas interest you :P

Hi Anon! Thank you, I really enjoy drawing Thragg with such eyebrows! I wish they'd kept em on him in the comics until the very end, he had squiggly eyebrows in his earlier design(s) until they just disappeared completely.
