Ive come to the realization that the reason theres a small but loud group of people who are showing nothing but hate for the rwrb movie is because they have completely unrealistic expectations. People are forgetting that this is a cheesy romantic comedy, thats supposed to look and feel like a cheesy romantic comedy. This isnt going to be moonlight or gods own country or some other critically acclaimed, oscar nomintaed queer film that makes straight people go "hmm maybe they do deserve rights and respect🤷‍♀️"

Its gonna be a cheesy adult romantic comedy, thats gonna be a bit camp and over the top and thats exactly why its so good. I dont want to think about every gay movie I watch. I want to watch it and see two queer people fall in love and thats it. Thats how deep it goes. Maybe a sprinkling of politcal commentary in between.

There is this issue thats become bigger and bigger every passing year, that people expect every bit of queer representation to be the best thing ever. There can not ever be anything cringey or different or silly, and if it is then they send endless hate towards it, and in an industry that already hates to show queer people on screen, its this viscious cycle of someone finally being greenlit to make queer media, the media gets endless hate for not being perfect, the studio cancels the queer media before giving it a chance because theyve just 'proven that it wont make money', suddenly everyone is saying 'why do they keep canceling queer media😢', cycle repeats.

I want light-hearted rom coms about queer adults just being queer adults and havig fun. I want comedy adventures where the characters just happen to be gay. I want more horror where at the end the final girl kisses a girl and can't belive they lived but not because they're gay. (suprisingly several of these exist and I love it)

I don't always want to think about the plight and horrors of being queer today with every queer movie I watch.

Sometimes, yes of course, I want to be seen on that level.

(Nimona, which came this weekend is a perfect example of a queer movie where I felt very very seen but also had a good time and was an incredibly silly fantasy adventure movie. But, still had the queer expereince intertwined.)

I'm looking forward to a movie that will be 90% rom com, and 10% realism/heavyness. re: being outed is a real thing that happens to people. famous people.

Alex and Henry go through some heavy shit. There's seriously traumatizing stuff at the end of the book. They're both dealing with mental illnesses, complex families, and rock-or-a-hard-place situations. I want all of that honored.

And, at the same time, I'm expecting a straight-to-streaming, mid-budget, movie that had to pass through a LOT of straight hands and board meetings to get to us.

Not to say we should love and accept every queer movie that comes out automatically, they have been done wrong in the past. (example: I skipped call me by your name bc the age gap still makes me too uncomfortable to watch)

But we have to give queer movies a chance to fit the genre they were made for, the tone they are made to be, and give queer creators a chance to show they are us annd they know us. rediscovering shame and giving yourself compassion (how to deal with shame as someone with ADHD)

this is directed towards my fellow ADHDers who have trouble with reoccuring shame while leads to hindered productivity.

signs that your productivity is hindered by shame (compiled by my own experiences):

you feel negative physical symptoms when you think about your responsibilities

you find ways to avoid the responsibilities

every time you make progress, you feel like you don't ever wanna touch it again

when you present your progress, you feel ashamed of yourself because it's not finished (on time & according to ur standards).

you feel like you are a constant failure. you never win, despite achieving good things here and there.

you are a walking ball of anxiety

you have a fear of being perceived

there's probably more, but eh those are just from my own experiences

below i will write down what y'all should remember, what you can do to help yourself, etc. this is compiled from dr k, my own journaling time, and my firsthand experience from having shame 24/7

some things u gotta remember

shame is what exists in the gap between your ideal self and where you are currently.

your ideal self doesn't have to be unrealistic, it can be yourself when you were at your peak or someone who is very similar to you.

shame brings negative thoughts, because it makes you see progress as a negative thing.

instead of being happy that u made progress, u grumble to urself and ask "why didnt i just do it sooner? im so stupid". it's a reminder of your failures, so u avoid progress altogether.

shame can become a part of you, to the point where you feel uneasy or vulnerable if you dont feel ashamed at yourself

shame doesn't do anything to ADHDers in the long run except self-loathing and hindered productivity.

what should u do?

basically self-therapy, but instead of stopping at why, i try to solve my shame one-by-one.

examine past moments where you felt a LOT of shame. this can go back to elementary. the stronger the emotions, the better. now, write them down. you're probably cringing, but that is good. feel all the cringiness running through ur veins.

why did you feel shame? why did it happen? what did you feel?

reframe your thoughts. instead of immediately running away from it, accept it and justify it. give it compassion. give it a hug. was it your 7 year old self? hug yourself. it's okay to fuck up and do silly things sometimes, and it's okay to have ADHD. it's not our fault.

remember that ADHD is a lifelong nerudivergency, you can't just push it away. coping mechanisms and tools help, but give yourself some grace when you screw up. it's our first time living anyway.

calm your body down. make sure your physical body is doing okay.

now... think of one thing you want to do but can't because of shame and do these steps carefully. think of the reasons why you might be ashamed, and reframe your thoughts.

WARNING!! TAKE IT ONE PRESENT ACTION AT A TIME. don't do this for every action you want to take, let your body slowly learn that it's okay to make progress despite the shame you feel, and you are allowed to feel compassion for yourself.

train your body to accept compassion slowly. life is tough with ADHD but it's even tougher knowing that shame will get in your way. give yourself a break, it's fine to fuck up, we all go through different things anyway. even if it's not fine, you will learn and make those mistakes a lil bit lesser in the future.

gayuu, I wanted to ask what the toxic aspects are in the relationships of ikemen villains, I ask why that is what they talked about when promoting the game cybird, which are loves that a heroine cannot save, I would like you to emphasize that so that I can distinguish better, since I get most of the information from the comments or translation, by the way, thank you very much for that

TW - I have made reference to serious topics and some major spoilers.

If you look at all Cybird games, they're all about unrealistic forbidden love that always have a happy ending. Like someone said, they develop these games to satisfy various unhinged kinks we players have. For example, no one wants to be in toxic relationship irl, but we all love the idea of being in a toxic relationship or seeing two people going through a toxic relationship just for the drama.

Ikemen villains is, if we exclude the 'romance' aspect, it's an insanely violent game that has scenes of bloody gore, we see people cutting their heads off, their organs getting ripped off, all kinds of trafficking, people getting injected with dangerous types of drug, child abuse, child rape, mental illness etc etc...Ikemen villain is a game about a girl being witness to an assassination committed by a secret organisation under the Queen. For her to not reveal the existence of this organisation to the outside world, she has to stay one month under their supervision so that they can make sure she can keep their secret. And while living with them if she happens to fall in love with one of these male leads a.k.a violent assassins, she can either choose to stay with them forever or forget her love and go back to her normal life. No one is asking her to save them from anything.

All the male leads in this game also has a sad history like any Ikemen game or any otome games. Even though their past has some impact on their current personality, they don't treat Kate (MC) badly. Instead they all want her to have a normal safe life. There has never been the case where Kate is like "Oh, you have a sad past? Don't worry, I will fix you with my love." Instead she more understanding of their trauma.

For example, El is a victim of rape ever since he was a little kid. Because of his beauty, people around him either treat him like an object in a museum or touch him inappropriately without his consent. When Kate met El, she did always think the El was beautiful but she never had any disgusting thoughts. Instead, when she sees people behaving inappropriately around him, she would try and help El so he can feel safe. She constantly reassures him that she won't do anything that would make him uncomfortable. Kate also asks El to call her immediately if anyone tries to approach him or do something inappropriate. There is never a case where Kate was cringy and telling things like "Oh my god...he has a traumatic past! I think I'm in loveee~" and shit.

Another thing that is going on in all Ikemen games recently is dubcons. I don't mind dubcons as long as the characters involved have chemistry and the scenes make sense. But some people don't like this trope at all and deems it unnecessary. In Ikemen villains, there are a lot of these scenes. Even in Alphonse route that is newly released, I only barely touched chapter 10 and I passed through a sex scene. The problem such scenes is that when there are too many sex scenes, its hard to see both the male lead and mc connecting emotionally. I also think a relationship that is build on such kind of foundation is also kinda toxic because outside of having sex....what do they like about each other? But that's okay, because cybird doesn't intend to have toxic relationships that is only build off of sex. They give enough scenes for both the male lead and mc to connect with each other.

All in all it's a pretty good game. Yes, there are unhinged BDSM scenes but like someone said, it's just to satisfy people's kinks.

And again, some of these might be inaccurate/ooc! I'm basing the hcs on the characters appearance/voicelines, though some of them might just be what I think :3

By the way, I'm using they/them pronouns for the fool. I'm not sure if it's correct or not, but since there's a voiceline in which the fool declares that they have no gender, I'll just go with they/them for now. If it's incorrect, please let me know!!!!

Pavia was a piano player. While it seems unrealistic, and quite out of character for him to play the piano, (because he very obviously seems like the person who you'd see with an electric guitar on his back), it's also not too far fetched. His 'perfect hands' (as he describes them,) adorn ten 'perfect' long fingers which seem to be familiar with the octaves of piano keys he has found in his basement. He'd try to recreate that melody his mother used to sing to him before she was sent to an asylum. Though he must admit, he hasn't played the instrument for long. Maybe a few months when he was younger at best. He found himself too bored with it, and the strings in his mind were being pulled by the thrill of holding a growling, and whaling (electric) guitar in his arms.

A knight was a red head. It seems almost comical, but before he has lost his appearance — except his muscular frame which was contoured by the cloak, and armour he usually wears (which also gives an idea of his height) — his hair was shoulder length. It was slightly wavy, but not much, because he didn't understand how to take care of it. It was usually slightly tousled, and thrown back against the back of his neck. He didn't tie it often though, and despite his hair bothering him, he has never thought about cutting it.

A fool often quotes shakespeare. "We know what we are, but know not what we may be." as the fool likes to say. Their hand dramatically stretched out above their head with the same blue rose (at least I think it is) held in their hand. Their fingers played around the stalk of the flower while their red bangs fell over their mask with their theatrical bow.

Okay so, I came across the concept of the bad sanses being like a family when I was like, twelve years old. Me, consuming any type of media about this dynamic, one day I thought "Nightmare treats them as his children, but how about he ACTUALLY gets a child?"

BOOM she was created.

Her name's Kari, and she's a type of monster whose body is made out of wax; kind of like, candle wax. (ik she doesn't look like a monster but I wanted to stick to the design I made when I was younger leavemealone)

Horror was the one who found her on the streets from an AU they were in. Since she was a homeless child, and was asking for food, he felt sympathy for her, so he took her to the castle they lived in.

Nightmare at first didn't want ANYTHING to do with her. He didn't want a child running around the castle, plus he wasn't ready to be officially a father/hj

Horror did convince Nightmare to keep her at least for a few days so he could feed her. Nightmare ended up agreeing, but with a warning; the child breaks anything, causes any kind of trouble, or gets WAY too positive, and she leaves.

Killer got along with her pretty easily, because he found funny how much energy she had even after not eating for days. Plus, he found her cute.

Nightmare accepted her quicker than you think tbh. She accidentally called him "dad" and he decided she was staying lol.

Finally, Dust was the last one to actually bond with her. He found her a bit annoying at first, but when he had some episodes and she kept him company, trying to comfort him, made him think she wasnt so bad.

I'd like to rant much more about her, but idk- IK THIS IS KIND OF CRINGY BUT I DON'T CARE ANYMORE BAMDNSM I embrace my cringe creations. 🙏

Close finishing Cassette Beasts and I think I have cemented my partner preference:

Excluding Barkhley, my partner preference is Felix > Meredith > Viola > Eugene > Kayleigh. A few of these are interchangeable, but this is what I think I'm soldified with.

Felix is easily my favorite character-wise. I love his laidback outgoing personality that feels very grounded and beliveable: I geniunely think I'd get along with him (before you ask yes, I plan to romance Felix thank you) . Not just that, Felix had my favorite story-quest to boot: his storyline with Kuneko resonates with any creative who has had those cringy OCs in their youth and man...I feel seen. TBH the only issue I have with Felix is his signature tape: while Fungogh isn't bad it's so dependent on its gimmick that your mileage will depend on how much you like it and...truth to be told I don't like Fungoghs gimmick at all to the point it was the only partner tape I benched. Sorry Felix, you're stuck with Triphinx now enjoy. (I could've gave Felix Kuneko but as a Ramtasm user it'd be redunant to have two AStral types on team, no matter how OP Astral type is).

I LOVE Merediths design and personality so much, but I think she has one of the weaker questlines? Like its not bad and I do love how it adds to the themes of nostalgia and art as sources of memory Cassette Beasts has going on, but it just feels so...insignificant compared to other questlines. Not to mention her Archangel boss felt...so insignificant to her character arc? Like yeah, Nowhere Monarch did prey on her weakness, but it didn't really feel earned thin my book. Beyond that though I do like Meredith: her design is really good, her serious no-nonsense personality is extremely tsundere without being unrealistic (she's arguably the most realistic character besides Felix) and like said, I love what she adds to themes. The best part though? Her signature beast. Like I'd argue Cat-5 is one of the best mons in the game period (especially in the early-game), and thus having her as your partner is always good, even if you don't like her character.

Viola has probably my favorite quest-line next to Felix and easily with the most fitting Archangel boss fight. Like yes, Robin Goodfellow is a b*tch to fight if you're unprepared, but its the one Archangel fight that does actually fit to the character. I love the twist of her being actually a fictional character and just the way she denies that and goes "Who cares if I'm fiction in someones world I'm real and I will show you". Her personality is great too. My only gripe with Viola is how late you get her: both Viola herself, and the ability to fuse with her. Since Robin GoodFellow is one of the last archangels you fight (if not even the last) you don't really have much time to use Viola by the time you beat her archangel and "properly" get her. So that is a really big drawback against a really solid character.

Eugene has really good design and is extremely likable and...that's it. His questline is one of the most frustrating to go through due to the LandKeeper offices being hard to keep a track of. Not to mention, while he is the second partner you get, he has the same problem as Viola where you fight his archangel so late, you don't really use him that much. Its even worse since you can't even bond with him due to partner relationships activating once you're able to fuse with them. Robindam is okay (if a bit too slow), but man is it pain to remaster as Clocksley is outright useless. I also feel that while Eugenes shonen protagonist "be gay and due crimes" personality is endearing, its also unrealistic: compared to the other more grounded and believeable partners it does stand out like a sore thumb. I still like him, but he just isn't for me.

Kayleigh is...solid. Solid design, insanely likable, simutanesouly quirky and relatable, solid quest, has one of the best signature tapes that's really good early-game, geniunely invested in the MC and their quest, is the bestly integrated to the main arch-angel plot....and that's kinda the problem. She has the "poster-girl" syndrome going on where her character is fine, good even, but since she's the first character the player encounters she's designed to be the most widely-appealing character. She gets relagated to the "vanilla" "default" option, and if you're anything like me, that is instantly a downside. Her status as the first/default partner just makes her look boring compared to the other partners, even if shes still an enjoyable character. I also have the issue with her where she's not as grounded as Meredith or Felix, and if anything has kinda the most nonsensical plot with the whole cult stuff going on. I also feel Kayleigh doesn't really have any motivations on her own, and just follows MC because shes attached to them...which is deeply ironic considering her story arc. Good character, just don't like her as much as others.

These reasons are honestly so bad to me. Idk if anyone else has extra info or maybe something else he did was bad, but I’m going to explain why I think these are such bad reasons.

1. BTS nsfw art

I’m just going to come out and say it’s bad to write or draw fanart/fanfics of any real person if they haven’t given consent to. It’s different from characters because these are Real People with real emotions and such. And yeah, that wasn’t good. But a couple things. They stopped drawing it around 17-19. For some people that’s way too old to be drawing that, and many think that it’s an attempt at an excuse.

I don’t think that’s the case. I can’t tell you how many posts I’ve seen online of people having bombastic crushes on singers and actors and doing the most heinous shit because they were teenagers. Teenagers just Do That. Yes it’s creepy, but many people go through a phase of having to learn how to seperate fiction from reality and it’s in your teen years. It’s not odd, and I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility to consider that a 17-18-19 year old would learn that and send out an apology. I mean our brains apparently don’t even develop till 25. There was also one point that many believed that the artist actually liked someone else’s nsfw BTS art recently, but I saw the post they liked and in my opinion…I had no idea who tf they were drawing. I’m not into BTS but I’ve seen pictures and if I was just scrolling one day and saw it I’d like the post. I don’t remember any BTS specific tags or a BTS related caption. Maybe the entire account was about that and so they didn’t feel the need for tags but I have no idea.

2) They fetishized trans men

Writing four trans men acting stupid and cringy in college and having healthy relationships and discussing boundaries and consent in a polyamorous relationship is not fetishizing. The artist himself is a trans man.

Sidebar, many critiques also center around the unrealistic portrayal of four ppl being in one polyamorous relationship together which honestly? Who cares if it’s unrealistic, it’s a good portrayal and it’s a romance, why can’t gays just have a happy story for once.

3) The characters are all Asian and do not look Asian

Hey, I didn’t know they were Asian either. I mean, I figured jock was but not the others. But honestly it’s not that big a deal. They’re the only four characters in the entire series I believe( other than their girl counterparts) and I’m sure if there was another character that wasn’t Asian we’d be able to tel. But even then, many many comics have a similar simplistic artstyle online, and race and ethnicity are not always obvious. Also the artist is Filipino, so I really doubt there’s anything iffy going on there.

4) Nerd is a proshipper

There’s nothing bad about thinking fiction ≠ reality and that you can act independently of the fiction you consume. Most people irl are proship without realizing it. Most literature is proship, because it explores every single aspect of storytelling. Antis really have not chosen the best hill to die on.

where did the dislike for self insert fanfics come from? I'm genuinely curious, cuz the only point i've seen made is the "it's cringy/unrealistic" one, and that's coming from folks who ship slasher x slasher pairings, or make long, drawn-out posts explaining why Michael Myers' original character wasn't built on ableism. so, automatically, their claim has no solid footing.

i understand it just not being your thing - cuz personally, self inserting also isn't my cup of tea, just can't comfortably put myself in those situations without feeling strange, and of course, the way some write the slashers may make me recoil just the tiniest bit - but the sheer vitriol stuffed into some of these posts is ASININE.

you'll have them spewing the most unnecessary hate for what's essentially just a harmless hobby/past time, pulling out every keyword they can remember from twitter and reddit, and when they're met with others saying "this is some misguided hostility friend" they'll use the "ur so sensitive lol" line. damn, you're telling me people don't like having their inoffensive interests shat on for no valid reason? wack.

idk, i just think it's a little dumb and completely unnecessary. no one's saying you have to like that part of the fandom, you can ignore and completely block it out to save your sanity, but i truly cannot find any reason to genuinely dislike it to that extent lol.

the x reader community may need a "how to be inclusive for dummies" book, and they lowkey don't know how to tag their stuff accordingly sometimes, but damn, some of the shit I've seen really just seems to come from people with nothing better to do with their lives. you're already on tumblr my guy, you are no better than the average fool. no matter how many rules you try to bend, or how well you leap through those loopholes, we're all cringe :((. get over yourself for once and maybe LIVE a little, jeez.

well, while smut is—like all porn—a fantasy and kind of meant to be unrealistic (to some extent; obv because it’s fake we can do whatever we want and explore whatever we want in a safe manner!), i still do write like my favourite kinks and the type of consensual sex i like to have. i take inspiration from my own sex life for my writing; a line or two of dialogue, a certain position, how certain things felt or went, locations, situations etc. so i don’t really have the problem you’re talking about, because so much of my smut is already similar to what my boyfriend and i do!

i think if you’re feeling diminished attraction to your partner either because they aren’t meeting your individual + personal needs or for an entirely different reason, that’s definitely something to explore and dig deeper into. does your boyfriend know about your personal sexual preferences and kinks? like have you ever communicated these to him? i know it can be super super scary to bring this kind of stuff up, because you’re being very open and vulnerable, but i promise you communication is key here!!!

now, if you have spoken to him about it and he said he isn’t comfortable with it because it feels unnatural or forced, then that’s his choice and his decision to make, and that’s totally fine. in that case tho i’d probably reassess ur relationship and what needs are and aren’t being met, and how you can find compromises if there are any to be found or how to move forward so you’re both happy, comfortable, safe, and consensual.

but if you haven’t brought it up to him at all, i think it’s kind of unfair to assume it would automatically be a terrible experience and not something that (like all things!) comes with practice and gets better with time. my boyfriend and i seriously eased into exploring my daddy kink, and at first i was really really shy to use the word at all with him. then i started using it through text, then over the phone, then during sex & in person, and now we both use it all the time. it was a very gradual thing and we were learning what we did and didn’t like, and what does and does not work, together, which is half the fun! it will probably be awkward at first, but you guys can laugh about it and keep practicing until it isn’t awkward or wooden/forced.

I just binge watched Secret Crush On You and I can’t believe it only has a 7.6 rating on mdl, I feel like people didn’t give this drama a chance and dropped it at ep1

Funny how for months when it was airing, I didn’t want to watch it because I seemed to be one of these low quality BLs with bad acting and a bad storyline, when really it quickly became one of my favorite dramas of 2022

You just really have to ignore that ep1 is cringy as hell and that the main character is being very weird and stalks the person he secretly loves, but it gets sooooo much better

Well it is cringy all drama-long but I laughed so much, I hadn’t laughed like that watching a series or a film in a long time! I can’t wait to watch the bts and reaction videos because the actors and the staff must have had so much fun. I also really want to see them suffer the second-hand embarrassment I had to suffer. 

I loved the characters, their relationships, their friendships especially, the respect they all had for each other and how they supported each other and pushed each other to be better and to be themselves. I loved watching a BL in which feminine gay people and a trans woman are allowed to love, be in love and be loved without them being a laughingstock, they’re so often the butt of the joke in Thai BL, it felt so good to see them be the main characters. I loved that homophobia wasn’t erased, maybe slightly embellished, but still addressed. I loved that we got to see all of these characters’ insecurities being treated with care, patience and love. I loved that we got to see self-conscious characters whose insecurities weren’t treated as ridiculous and who had a complete support system from friends and lovers. I loved seeing these endearing characters learn to love themselves. 

Maybe it was unrealistic because everything turned out well, everyone was supportive, everyone accepted everyone, but really, I needed this positivity and I’d do anything to have even one of these characters as a friend

I love Marinette so much, it’s so nice to have a protagonist with anxiety because I have it too and so I finally have a character I can truly relate to unlike any other. I just wish the writer’s wouldn’t constantly humiliate her in the show, it feels like they make her into a butt monkey too often. But what I don’t like even more is when fanfic writers completely erase her anxiety, usually by taking away her crush on Adrien or giving her extra support as Ladybug which the latter is great and I love to see. But while I think it would ease her burden some, she would still have anxiety because it doesn’t just go away, if the current the stressors lessened, the anxiety would still find something to latch onto. I feel like there should be a balance where Marinette gets support but still has anxiety sometimes and gets help to get through it and stuff instead of taking it away completely. I think it’s so great that Marinette despite having enough of her own problems is always willing to go above and beyond for her friends and family and sometimes for people who don’t even deserve it. She has a heart of gold and truly there is no better choice for Ladybug, a superhero should be someone as selfless as her. Some say it’s unrealistic that she has so many characters with crushes on her but I think it makes sense when you see just what kind of a person she is, she is glowing with goodness and makes friends wherever she goes because she makes the world a better place. I really hope 12 seasons doesn’t happen because I don’t want to wait that long for Marinette’s happy ending. I really hate that Astruc said it’s a rule that she has to mess up and learn a lesson every episode, it reminds me of how the author of Sisters Grimm seems to hate Sabrina and gives her too hard a time even though it’s his own created protagonist. Why make a character you don’t like the protagonist of your series? I love Adrien but he seems to be the writer’s pet and Marinette the writer’s punching bag. I wish we could all buy miraculous from him and give Marinette better plot lines and treatment in the show. Sadly this would not change the saltdom view of her, sometimes I wonder if they are watching miraculous from an alternate dimension and that’s why their takes are the polar opposite of what Marinette actually is.

I don't think they hate her, trust me when I was a writer I used to put my protagonists through more pain than even villains, just because I feel like doing it even though I LOVED them so much, it felt like they are my kids, but yes, I wish her anxiety is treated more serious at times. It's totally cool if some stuff are used as comedy but I wish they could talk about it or have Marinette talking about it sometimes, more seriously. Anxiety doesn't go away and it's not always something to make fun of. I just wish it's taken more seriously, I've seen a lot of hate like "ML writers constantly humiliate their characters and then expect us to take them seriously when they have a panic attack" which I don't understand. Humiliation is not when Marinette tripps and fall humiliation is when people at the train made fun of her genuine feelings when she was confessing out loud while writing the letter for Adrien. I don't find that funny when she is being made fun of for being in love. Also how is it hard to feel sorry for character if they did something embarrassing before that? How many times characters (protagonists mostly) run into a pole or do something cringy and later cry or panic or anything and you feel sorry because their emotions are genuine and the only way I couldn't feel sorry for a character is if I really hated that character or if a character didn't deserve the sympathy.

And I feel the same way as you about fanon Marinette. That's not our Marinette. Like "she grew up and she is dead serious now" doesn't work. She's going to be just a hyperactive as now when she grows up and she's going to talk fast and she's going to be insecure and nervous and simp on Adrien and all that. You can't just grow out of anxiety. This is how she is.
