on the heels of the 95th academy awards i would like to say how happy i am that The Boy The Mole The Fox and The Horse won best animated short film. what a beautiful piece of art it was. in other news Puss in Boots should have one best animated feature, but at least disney didn’t win either category

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

#i often wonder about how many things would be considered classic or high art had they only received the marketing #how many short films that were made for class could have been the most powerful thing you'd ever seen? if you'd seen them?#“you know the greatest films of all time were never made” etc etc #but like. these works of art ARE being made. it's just enjoyed by a smaller audience with equal impact though #i think about this one furry i used to follow on insta who had the coolest worldbuilding ever. it's been years.#thought prompted by that sketch of nimona from ten years ago that was just for a character design #posted to the creator's tumblr and now it's nominated for best animated feature film at the oscars #and by the genuine emotional reaction a fan comic made me feel. how much work had gone into it. how beautiful it was to me.#idk what to tag this but i hope whoever needs to hear it does #writing #writer #fandom #fandom culture #artist

a short placing heavy emphasis on Hungarian Rhapsody No. II is a rite of passage for golden age cartoons. Bugs Bunny did it! Tom and Jerry did it! Daffy and Donald! but one thing Woody Woodpecker has above the competition is that he is held hostage by a group of gangsters and is forced to entertain, lest he get executed. amazing

#fans of Mickey's Trailer will note the similarities at the beginning of the moving van stretching out the fence--that's because #this was directed by Don Patterson who animated that absolutely BIZARRE cut in Trailer #please look it up if you haven't because it is some of the best animation you will ever see. it is insane #i'm so sad i didn't know this short existed until yesterday because i love it. i love musical cartoons and the story/hook of this one #genuinely made me laugh. and Daws Butler voices the gangsters and cop!#Hungarian Rhapsody No. II... gangster is named Mugsy... it's almost a Friz Freleng short! almost #Hugh Harman did write this one though which is bizarre to me. yes that Hugh Harman who established and ran the first 3 years of the Warner #studio with Rudy Ising #(and Herman Cohen animates on this who of course was a longtime WB animator!)#i love cartoons #ww #convict concerto #patterson #vid #also i am team Rhapsody Rabbit on the RR vs Cat Concerto debate i'm sorry Tom (and Jerry)#but one short has Bugs Bunny killing a man in cold blood and the other doesn't

omg I will feel so bad for the slayer that harms the love clone reader so badly that she trapped under rubble, Wisteria posion and torn Kimono and everything and just as soon as the slayer about to decapitate her she starts to throw a tantrum and be convinced she was just spreading 'love' so she obviously calls for Zohakuten to help her. May you please write that as a story please? Love your work. Also it like when Nezuko burned Daki but much worse for reader cause her face was literally torn apart. Also she calls the slayers bullies

Zohakuten- The Victim

Wriggling and struggling under the overwhelming weight atop of your bloody back, your rose pink kanji-marked eyes glassed over slightly as your passionate heart cracked in rejection. Your pale, almost undead skin was coursing with a shot of deadly wisteria poison and your gorgeous eccentric kimono was torn apart into shreds, much like your pretty face in which dripped blood all over the grainy floor

The very strong slayer stood before you, scanning over their work. They were able to singlehandedly seperate you, one of the many emotion clones of the Upper Moon 4 and trap you under a huge pile of building rubber and paralyse you with poison so you’re too immobilised to be able to fight back. Your innocent and emotional nature gave the slayer a huge boost as you barely wanted to attack them back

The slayer rose their malicious Nichirin Katana, setting off your final protective moments. “I just wanted to spread love! You’re a awful, mean person! You bully, how dare you try ruin my love! Why can’t I give you love!” You roar out heartbroken and bewildered by this slayer’s unreasonable hostility. You were truly convinced that you had done nothing wrong as you wanted to spread your love out for the human and your clone brothers

But this truly vile human attacked you, cornered you and crushed you like some helpless prey to it’s predator. The same slayer rose up their weapon and swung down very speedy as they were prepared to kill one of the Upper Moon 4’s clones, in horror and with nothing left to use your own seperate abilities as the wind in your lungs kept getting knocked out over and over. Even though you were upset and horrified with the potential you’ll die, you still felt love for the human…

“ONII-SAN, HELP ME!” You screamed out as loud as you could in a split-second, tears dripping down your mutilated cheeks. This roar of desperation echoed through the dark forest and triggered Sekido to immediately stuff his palm into the faces of his clone brothers; Karaku, Urogi and Aizetsu, absorbing them in a fast pace. Thankfully, the four entities managed to transform into Zohakuten, just in time to summon the pair of mighty solid wooden dragons into deflecting the slayer’s attack by burrowing through the very ground and break their katana into two

The two gigantic, semi-sentient dragons destroyed the rumble effortlessly pinning you down into grinded dust and carried you over to plop down weakly behind the familiar hatred clone. Zohakuten’s outraged eyes averted from the stunned, surprised human onto you, that boiling hatred faded into concern as he leant down to tilt your chin up to meet his eyes, he was so worried about you and a powerful deep rage built up even more

“Don’t worry now, my precious little sister. I’ll take care of this bully, just stand behind me and I will protect you, like I always do”

sure i COULD ramble about how ai is one of the multiple things that check all the marks of humanity's seven deadly sins but would that be extreme

#the pride the hubris of believing you can do better than innovation and nature by playing god and not in the fun way #the lust it's being used for in so many awful cases #the sloth the way its encouraging everyone to check original sources less before believing anything. Also to not take time to develop skill #the greed its being used for profit without consideration for ethics or fair labour #gluttony. we always have to be faster. shinier. better. no matter if it ends up being less convenient or wonky #the wrath it sows in between people creating more differences to be frustrated over. more hatred #the envy how it takes and takes. always trying to be as clever as the best humans. as beautiful as a real forest or sunset.#do you think the ai wants itself #if this were a scifi movie would we be the bad guys #but this is not a movie and the ai cannot love us. so we cannot love it. and there's that #my post #personal stuff #thinking aloud just silly yapping n jazz 没啥事做就这样咯~#(￣▽￣)~*#when i was in primary school our textbooks for chinese had short stories and articles to learn about #there was a fictional scifi oneshot about a family in the future going to the zoo #the scifi zoo trip was going great until the zoo's systems went offline for a moment #and it was revealed that all the animals roaming in their enclosures were holograms #the real ones went extinct ages ago #when the computers came back online the holograms returned and there they were #honestly at first I thought it was a bit exaggerating #but I still think about it once in a while
