how to bring less stuff into your home
• don't buy if you already have something similar in function or form — for ex. i already own a pair of boots, therefore any new pair of boots, even if a different colour or a different shape, must stay in the store.
• don't buy to store (unless it's on a good sale) — ex. i'm halfway through my favourite serum and already thinking of buying a new bottle, but i'll hold off until the previous one is actually empty, unless i see it in the store for much less than it usually costs. i also hoard notebooks and try not to buy any more until all have been used up.
• don't buy what you can reasonably rent or borrow — ex. i barely ever buy books because i can find everything i need at the library (including a ladder and a printer).
• don't buy what you truly do not need — ex. did i get a rose quartz roller? yes. did i get it for a purpose? yes, to massage my sore jaw muscles. does it do what i bought it for? meh. is it nice to have? kind of. do i ever use it? not really. so was it a waste of natural resources, cheap labour and my own money? absolutely.
• don't buy spontaneously — ex. i went to the store to buy a new bottle of shampoo but ended up with the rose quartz roller too. in the moment, i could easily justify the need for it and a friend even said to go for it (it wasn't expensive either!). now it sits in its box and i only remember to take it out every three months.
• don't buy what is not on your shopping list — ex. i needed a new pair of black trousers, and had had them on my list for months already. i found the very best pair i could get on my budget, and going into the store i saw so many beautiful pieces, but kept telling myself i only came in for the black trousers. in the end i left the store with only what i needed, because i knew exactly what my mission there was.
• don't buy what won't last — ex. i love to get myself a bouquet of eucalyptus branches every autumn and to let them dry out. i know i can keep those branches for at least a year. while i love fresh flowers too, i know they won't last long. (sometimes i get carnations though, because i know how to keep them going for a relatively long time.) same goes for sweaters: i do not buy acrylic and polyester, simply because i cannot de-pill them the way i can wool.
• don't buy what other's have — ex. i've been dreaming of a rice cooker for a very long time, and especially now that many of my friends have gotten one, i can't seem to stop thinking about it. however i know my current kitchen just wouldn't have the space for it, so i stick to cooking my rice on the stove.
• don't go into stores if you don't need anything and avoid aisles you don't need anything from — ex. i love this ecological store in town, it always smells earthy and pleasant and has beautiful things inside, but if i enter it without a real need for something, i know i will leave with at least a bar of ridiculously expensive chocolate i wasn't even craving. the same principle applies to online shops!
• don't let social media or the people around you create new needs for you — ex. a lot of people on instagram and in my real life are knitting and i would love to do it too! i could easily justify getting all the tools and paying hundreds of euros for wool, but i know i reach for other activities in my free time and that my arms have hurt way too much when i've previously knitted, so it's not for me.
• don't buy unnecessary amounts of things — ex. i recently moved to a very small studio. i've previously always had six of each type of plate, because kitchen things tend to be sold in packs of six. this time i just got three of each (three plates, three bowls, three mugs...) and it has been more than enough. i cannot even imagine having to store double the amount of stuff in my tiny kitchen!

Bad Kids Food + Cooking Headcanons
Adaine
Before moving in to Mordred, she couldn't cook for shit. Her family had unseeing servants and stuff and it was assumed she would never need to know.
Eventually Jawbone, Lydia and Sandra Lynn teach her. She begins to love it - it feels similar to ritual spellcasting for her.
After the Nightmare Forest, she starts cooking and baking with Aelwyn. They make a mean black forest cake together. It's great bonding time
Kristen
Is better with camp food than regular food - made it at church camps a lot
Also had to cook for her siblings constantly (we stan parentification :/) but for the most part it was chicken nuggets and microwaved corn kernels and whatever - easy, processed meals
However, her mother insisted she know how to cook because when she had a husband and children it would be her job. So she would often make roast meals and big servings of chicken corn soup to freeze for the week
To this day she hates cooking - it brings back bad memories and feelings.
Fig
Much like Kristen, better at camp food (ie. ranger meals that Sandra Lynn taught her)
She kinda knows how to forage and hunt but not as well as Sandra Lynn would like
She loves baking but has little patience
Her decorating skills are non-existent but she tries
Fabian
My man can't cook for shit, like at all. He can't even make a sandwich. Cathilda tried to teach him but his parents would often intervene so he never had the patience to learn.
Riz
Riz would be a good cook if he knew how. Unfortunately Sklonda didn't have the time to teach him or the money to buy ingredients for him to learn. She did what she could - he at least knows sandwichs and pasta and rice and very basic staples - but he couldn't tell you how to cook steak
After the Nightmare Forest, Sandra Lynn teaches him how to forage and hunt. He takes to it far better than Fig (he has more patience for it)
Gorgug
Other than Adaine after season two, Gorgug is the best chef of the bad kids. Ain't no way Digby & Wilma were letting him not know how to cook.
He likes baking too, but mainly does things like slow cooker stews and pulled pork sliders with homemade curly fries.
He enjoys seeing the delight on his friends' faces when he makes them food
Honorary Bad Kids
Ragh is in the same boat as Adaine - didn't learn until after Jawbone was in his life. After he worked through his issues, Ragh got really close to Lydia via learning how to cook. Now he often cooks with Gorgug, making BBQ dinners together for their families
Ayda doesn't know how to cook. Past iterations might have but this one doesn't. She has Garthy after all. But she does enjoy baking with Fig or Adaine (and sometimes even helping Gorgug or Ragh)
Tracker knows how to cook, Jawbone taught her. She learnt how to cook on a tight budget, and how to forage and hunt. She and Sandra Lynn bonded over that
Aelwyn is the same as Adaine, never knew until after the Nightmare Forest. She gets really into it, especially baking, making perfect macarons and puff pastry. It's escapism, but she doesn't always have the spoons (it takes a lot outta her)

Roger Ebert once wrote my favorite blog post, and I’ve never been without a rice cooker since.
And you, serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. You, person on a small budget who wants healthy food. You, shut-in. You, recovering campaign worker. You, movie critic at Sundance. You, sex worker waiting for the phone to ring. You, factory worker sick of frozen meals. You, people in Werner Herzog's documentary about life at the South Pole. You, early riser skipping breakfast. You, teenager home alone. You, rabbi, pastor, priest,, nun, waitress, community organizer, monk, nurse, starving actor, taxi driver, long-haul driver. Yes, you, reader of the second-best best-written blog on the internet.

How can I go about stuffing myself if I’m a broke college student? I want to eat good food (and avoid school cafeteria food poisoning)…but I just can’t afford it. How do I satiate the need? Any advice?
Hmm...cheap, good food and lots of it. I'm not the best person to ask, but I have two kinds of suggestion:
Stuff you can cook
What's your cooking situation like? Are you on or off campus? It can help a lot if you can find 2-3 cheap meals that are easy and enjoyable, whether that's a microwavable meal, instant noodles, rice and beans, whatever.
If you're in a position to cook for yourself, sites like Budget Bytes have recipes broken down by cost. There are lots of broke college students seeking advice on Reddit, so you can search there too. (A quick poke around revealed some good advice, but also some diet/health moralizing that made me uncomfortable, so just be aware of that.)
A rice cooker is a handy bit of kitchen equipment which could even be used in a dorm. They're cheaper than a pressure cooker or Instant Pot. You can cook other stuff, like pasta, or find whole rice cooker recipes. My best friend in uni had celiac and used to make rice in her dorm room and top it with butter chicken sauce.
Stuff you can get cheap/free
Depending on where you live, you could try an app like Too Good to Go which connects you with businesses that have surplus food you can pick up at a steep discount. (I've used it; bakery leftovers are some of my fave things to get.)
Or something like Olio, which is a free sharing app where people give away surplus food for free.
Anyone else got advice?
I have never been broke (and spent much of my time at university...not eating) so if anyone else has tips for this anon, leave them in the replies!
Best of luck xx

Unless it's an industry secret, can you please tell me about cooking rice in the oven?
Lol not an industry secret but it does involve some equipment I definitely don’t have at my house. It could probably be adapted for home cooking without much issue, just turn the oven up hotter and keep a closer eye on it.
My oven at work is a convection oven set to 350°F, to do it in a standard oven I would probably turn it up to at least 425°F
I use an aluminum hotel pan but any baking vessel that conducts heat should work.
I also use Par-boiled short grain rice (this does not work very well with basmati and the like) which you can definitely find in the grocery story.
Step one: spray the shit out of the pan. I don’t care that you’re adding a bunch of liquid. If you don’t want to be scraping rice for a decade, spray that shit.
Step two: add rice halfway up the side of the pan and add seasonings. I make a really bomb saffron-less yellow rice (I work in a cafeteria we don’t have the budget for saffron lmao) with turmeric, a little paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. You can also use chicken stock instead of water if you want, just make sure not to oversalt. Throw a chunk of butter or splash of oil in there too.
Step three: fill rest of the way with water (the rice to water ratio is about 1-2) and stir it JUST A LITTLE! You’re just making sure the seasonings get mixed in, you are not trying to bring out the starch from the rice. Cover with a layer of plastic wrap and then a layer of foil. The plastic will keep in the moisture, the foil will stop the plastic from melting. Stick that bad boy in the oven.
Step four: literally forget about it until you suddenly remember it and go “oh hey is my rice cooked?” (It’s about an hour but like I said the equipment is not the same so I have no idea how long I’m a standard oven. Probably longer than that.)
Don’t unwrap it too soon! When you can tilt the pan (CAREFULLY) without feeling water moving around, you’re done. Pull it out, uncover it, fluff it with a fork.
It works every time (for me. I am a professional with lots of practice, I fucked it up a lot in the early days) and this one guy in my company calls me and asks me to explain it to him all the time because apparently I’m the best rice cooker in the company whatever that means 😂
Good luck! If you hate this method you definitely do not need to use it, it’s just what I do.

Master the Art of Perfect Rice Every Time: The Ultimate Rice Cooker Guide
When it comes to cooking, there are few things more satisfying than a perfectly cooked pot of rice. Whether you're preparing a simple weeknight dinner or an elaborate feast, rice is a versatile staple that can complement any meal. Yet, achieving that perfect texture and flavor can be a challenge.
This is where rice cookers come into play, transforming the often tedious process of cooking rice into a seamless and reliable experience. In this guide, we will explore how to master the art of perfect rice every time with the help of a rice cooker.
Tumblr media
Why Use a Rice Cooker?
Rice cookers are designed to simplify the cooking process while delivering consistent results. Unlike traditional methods, which require constant monitoring, rice cookers automate the entire process, allowing you to focus on other aspects of your meal. Here are some key benefits:
Consistency: A rice cooker ensures that your rice is cooked evenly, eliminating the common problems of undercooked or burnt grains.
Convenience: With a rice cooker, you simply add water and rice, press a button, and let the machine do the work. Most models come with a timer and automatic shut-off feature, so you don’t have to worry about overcooking.
Versatility: Modern rice cookers can do much more than just cook rice. Many models come with settings for different types of grains, porridges, soups, and even steaming vegetables and meats.
Choosing the Right Rice Cooker
There are various types of rice cookers available, each catering to different needs and preferences. Here are some factors to consider when selecting the right rice cooker for your kitchen:
Capacity
The capacity of a rice cooker is usually measured in cups of uncooked rice. If you have a large family or frequently host guests, opt for a larger model (10 cups or more). For smaller households or individuals, a 3-5 cup capacity cooker should suffice.
Features
Modern rice cookers come with a range of features that can enhance your cooking experience:
Multiple Cooking Functions: Look for cookers that offer settings for different types of rice (white, brown, sushi), as well as other grains like quinoa and barley.
Keep Warm Function: This feature keeps your rice warm and ready to serve for hours after cooking.
Delay Timer: Allows you to set the cooker to start cooking at a later time, perfect for busy schedules.
Price
Rice cookers range from budget-friendly models to high-end versions with advanced features. Determine your budget and find a model that offers the best value for your needs. While cheaper models can do the job, investing in a higher-end cooker can provide better performance and longevity.
Using Your Rice Cooker Effectively
To get the most out of your rice cooker and consistently achieve perfect rice, follow these tips:
Rinse Your Rice
Rinsing rice before cooking removes excess starch, which can cause the grains to stick together. Place the rice in a bowl, fill with water, swirl gently, and drain. Repeat this process until the water runs clear.
Measure Accurately
Use the measuring cup that comes with your rice cooker to ensure the correct rice-to-water ratio. Different types of rice may require different amounts of water, so refer to your rice cooker’s manual for guidance.
Let It Rest
After the cooking cycle completes, let the rice sit in the cooker for an additional 10-15 minutes. This resting period allows the steam to finish cooking the rice, resulting in a fluffier texture.
Experiment with Add-Ins
Enhance the flavor of your rice by adding spices, herbs, or broth. For example, cooking rice in chicken or vegetable broth instead of water can add a delicious depth of flavor.
Caring for Your Rice Cooker
Proper maintenance of your rice cooker will ensure it remains in good working condition for years to come. Here are some tips for care and maintenance:
Clean Regularly: Remove the inner pot and wash it after each use. Wipe down the exterior and the inner lid to prevent residue buildup.
Check the Cord: Ensure that the power cord is in good condition and not frayed or damaged.
Store Properly: Store your rice cooker in a dry place when not in use to prevent any moisture damage.
Conclusion
Mastering the art of perfect rice every time is within reach with the help of a reliable rice cooker. By understanding the features and benefits of different models, choosing the right one for your needs, and following best practices for cooking and maintenance, you can enjoy perfectly cooked rice with minimal effort. Invest in a quality rice cooker, and elevate your culinary experience, turning rice from a simple side dish into a standout feature of your meals.

Under Pressure: Exploring the Versatility of Pressure Cookers in Modern Kitchens
Tumblr media
The kitchen is a battleground for time, and two trusty companions in this fight are the rice cooker and the pressure cooker. While both help us whip up delicious meals, they have distinct strengths. Let's explore these appliances and a well-known brand: Hawkins Pressure Cookers.
The Humble Rice Cooker: Simplicity at its Finest
Rice cookers are the champions of fuss-free cooking. They take the guesswork out of perfectly cooked rice, a staple in many cultures. Just add the desired amount of rice and water, press a button, and walk away. The rice cooker does the rest, automatically switching to a "warm" setting once the rice is cooked. This eliminates the risk of overcooked, mushy rice, a common pitfall for stovetop methods.
Rice cooker aren't one-trick ponies. Many models can steam vegetables, simmer soups and stews, and even slow cook meals. They're also generally affordable and very easy to clean. If you're busy or new to cooking, a rice cooker is a great investment.
The Pressure Cooker: Speed and Versatility
Pressure cookers take things up a notch by using steam pressure to cook food significantly faster than conventional methods. This can be a lifesaver for weeknight dinners or when dealing with tougher cuts of meat and legumes.
Here's how it works: A pressure cooker creates a sealed environment where steam builds up, increasing the boiling point of water. This allows food to cook faster while retaining moisture and nutrients.
Pressure cooker are incredibly versatile. They can be used to cook rice, beans, lentils, soups, stews, and even desserts! However, they do require a bit more attention to detail and safety precautions compared to rice cookers.
Hawkins Pressure Cookers: A Legacy of Quality
Hawkins is a well-known brand of pressure cookers, particularly popular in India. Founded in 1948, they've built a reputation for sturdy, reliable pressure cookers made from aluminium or stainless steel. Hawkins offers a variety of pressure cooker models in different sizes and materials to suit various needs and budgets. Many users appreciate features like their safety valves and easy-to-use locking mechanisms.
Choosing the Right Appliance
So, which appliance is right for you? Here's a quick breakdown:
Rice Cooker: Ideal for perfect rice, easy cleanup, and basic meal preparation.

3.2.24 Saturday
3:13 am
Still, have windblow and I feel bitterish...
9:50 am
I forgot to share here angels Alorica was calling me yesterday.... I'm so scared for my LIFE, like what I posted as I analyzed the call centers companies here in the Philippines, they offered a lot and different kinds of surprises...I'm so fucking scared coz they sent me twice or thrice the welcoming bonus load of 300 pesoses, like what I said though I needed money but I felt something was not right that could lead to a negative situation....I have FEAR on Alorica, I'm so scared.
I needed a job as soon as possible....I'm fucking not relax, I keep on reviewing English that I always forgot some of the rules of Subject- Verb-Agreement, basics but confusing but on English conversation we don't actually point it out. You know what I mean angels? We are facing money trouble these days and I'm no longer a kid, my life is no longer a teenager as much as I wanted to go back....I don't know, we have financial tight budgeting. I do feel intimidated on other people and most specially on younger souls coz in reality my young moment has passed me by already and I wasn't that happy since this windblow came into me.... I lost my xfactor, I lost my identity some copied me, some wanted to be with me just to copy me and learned my entire persona and then they will remove me. I observed that most specially some wicked souls in Cavite, not all but some.... I feel hurt about it!!!
10:55 am
Will have my 2nd cup of coffee today... Hmm...So sad,our TV here is damaged angels... So, we are still waiting for fundings, our TV here is originally "Sharp" and it sadden me to hear yesterday that Uncle DD was working out his "home credit" to be able to get a 50 inches TV here now for nana... But it sadden me we can no longer get the one of the best brands way back but I'm open to have the latest but I do TRUST and BELIEVE that there are some good brands that we can TRUST to have...Except that fucking "Astron"! I admire CoCo Martin as an artist here in the Philippines but I started to hate him when his rice cooker that he modelled was weird...Remember angels? I posted here the "Astron"rice cooker the cover of the rice is not fitted on the body which is weird! Rice cooker means you can keep the rice warm at all times but without being toasted or not to the point that you burnt the rice underneath that we are experiencing now in "Astron".
It was weird if I saw Prince Harry yesterday or just the same face??? Did we freeze??? Huh?
If that was "Prince Harry" I owe him curtsy...
Even if having just the same face, a very handsome "a handsome Harry"... Harry,Harry...
11:34 am
Be careful some DJ's and Church of Christ are plastics.... DJ's on Eagle FM...I'm a person or I'm Human... I'm just being real...
There are so many plastics everywhere... Double check is not bad at all...
Does Mitch gave me a "simple battery"???
2:19 pm
I still have windblow....Potang inah just the basics at least you know the computer terminologies... I'm reading the website of "Amazon".... The particular are for the tech support... But I can be one, in a way...
I feel really jealous and I feel invalid coz of red... Please, get out of my hair and be responsible coz we are poorish these days...
I don't wanna feel that I'm stupid or I'm the weakest even here in Cavite, get out of my hair as well but be responsible as well... For what you did since 2007? Guilty or not guilty??
3:14 pm
I feel bitterish on Amazon site no attaching of resume, you just need to post your number and address and mail address and that's it!
I will wait for eperformax... I feel so inavlid... I need a job and money...The same thing post your name, number and email and that's it!
Did Mitch give me a "simple battery?
I wanted to leave Cavite and be Manila girl, I feel so invalid here in Cavite...
3:28 pm
I feel bitterish... It is so good to create memories here but I still want a botox and a nose perfection...
youtube
4:13 pm
I still have windblow....Unfair for 17 years they made me their supporters for nothing. There are some doctors who can't go up use me or over-competitive that they wanted to have a "double-platinum" in this world.
That they wanted to prove that they are doctors already and being an artist is just their 2nd achievement, this is for both on and off the screen....Guilty or not guilty?
A conspiracy for me and a plan for someone or for herself??? Or just their group???
5:30 pm
I still have windblow... I think, I'm having headache....I can't start my diet to flatten my tummy, I'm a single person and I have no career... I feel super fat and ugly... My timeline as a woman is expired already. I feel super self-pity... What will happen to me? My vanity,my travels and John's dog show with me???
I really wanna do a nose perfection, can someone accept me on that? I want vanity...
8:52 pm
This Uncle DD is somehow insensitive why did they put their car inside our garage though I know that is the proper way here... But the washed clothes are there in the garage... Coz they have their own laundry area inside their new house... Our dalagang Pilipinas, gets?
My nana is keep on reacting on me negatively that I should put her washed blankets in the garage, where will I put here??? The car of Uncle DD and Aunt Karen are inside the garage.
Uncle Jun is not cleaning the floor mat of John if I will not ask him a favour, he is switching his personality... Or if I can't pay him a lotion or any toiletries, I don't wanna ask him anymore to clean John's floormat... Gets the scenarios angels???
I feel tired coz I cooked this dinner but lunch was being managed by nana... Then, I cleaned John's floormat manually coz I have to do it, I love my son-dog so much... I need to keep a lysol and sprays, I need money for those...
I wanna better life with someone, someone sensitive. Someone who can accept my wants of doing vanity and keeping John and I really wanna have more dogs but I want an uphill or upper life. I still wanna do nose perfection...
9:23 pm
I posted here that I'm having headache around 5:30 pm but I feel that someone is putting a spell on me or budolling or a spell... I feel weird I feel like I'm floating...
My S-bones are in pain again that I need to strech or exercise... I feel bitterish in life... I wanna leave Cavite... I wanna find a soulmate for me... Someone cute or handsome, taller than me and stable enough to lift me up... I wanna have yaya, angels... I badly need a HUG!

Electric cookers are kitchen appliances designed to cook or heat food using electricity as their energy source. They come in different types and configurations to suit different cooking needs. Here are some common types of electric cookers:
1. Electric Oven: Electric ovens usually have heating elements on the cooktop surface. They can be coil-based or smooth glass-ceramic surfaces (known as smooth-tops). Coil-based stoves expose the heating coils, while smooth tops have the heating element under a glass-ceramic surface, providing easy cleaning and a sleek appearance.
2. Electric Range: An electric range combines an electric stove with an oven in one unit. The ranges come in different sizes with features like multiple burners, convection ovens, and digital controls.
3. Electric Pressure Cooker: Also known as an electric multicooker, these appliances combine various cooking functions in one unit, including pressure cooking, slow cooking, sautéing, steaming, and more. They are convenient for preparing a variety of foods with minimal effort.
4. Electric Rice Cooker: This appliance is specially designed for cooking rice. It automates the cooking process, ensuring perfectly cooked rice every time without the need for constant monitoring.
5. Induction Cooktop: Although not technically a cooker, induction cooktops are becoming increasingly popular. They use electromagnetic energy to heat pots and pans directly, providing faster heating, precise temperature control, and energy efficiency than traditional electric or gas cooktops.
When choosing an electric cooker, consider factors such as cooking capacity, energy efficiency, cooking features, safety features, and budget. In addition, it is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use and maintenance to ensure longevity and safety.

November 19th, 2023
Alright, so here's the sit*:
I am trying to stabilize my finances and monthly budgets. I think I've figured out a method of mandatory/discretionary spending that will work for me, and with a bit of effort, I'm on track to make that by 12/4 (and get ahead of it by 12/18, if I can control my spending).
BUT -- it leaves very little room for spending on groceries that aren't absolutely necessary. Also there's a major food holiday coming up here in America and the grocery stores are going to be nuts.
So the theme of this week is "Dry Ingredients"
We're talking beans, quinoa, split peas, rice, flour, cornmeal, etc. Also my canned stuff--tomatoes, more beans, some corn i think? And anything I've got frozen--mostly stir-fry-ready vegetables and spaghetti bolognese sauce.
Possibilities for red beans:
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1020816-vegan-slow-cooker-red-beans-and-rice?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1021035-baked-rajma-punjabi-style-red-beans-with-cream?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
Possibilities for black beans:
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018592-best-black-bean-soup?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1013062-cuban-black-beans?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
Possibilities for quinoa:
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1014450-spiced-yellow-lentils-with-quinoa?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015995-crisp-quinoa-cakes-with-almonds-rosemary-and-dijon?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
I've also got potatoes and sugar snap peas.
so, from all that:
Tentative Menu
Yellow Lentils with Quinoa
Vegan Red Beans and Rice
Huevos Rancheros for breakfast/lunch
which implies making refried beans (here) and salsa (roughly based on this)
Celery Toasts
using this recipe (to deal with extra celery): https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018356-celery-toasts?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
Focaccia
this recipe for bread for the week: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1021036-focaccia?smid=ck-recipe-android-share
so from all that:
Grocery List
(not including most ingredients, which i already have)
3 yellow or white onions
garlic
cilantro
1 big red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
celery
onion powder
fresh thyme (if it's still on sale)
eggs
half and half
2-3 fresh chiles
bleau cheese
Plan
Sunday
Make salsa and refried beans
Huevos Rancheros for dinner
Make bread dough and set to rise overnight
Start soaking red beans
Monday
Bake bread
Make red beans and rice
Prep for celery toasts
Tuesday
Doing a separate date night dinner thing
Wednesday
Set quinoa soaking in the morning
Set split peas soaking in the afternoon
Make quinoa and lentils
*sit as in short for situation, a shortening made known to me by my youngest sister when I was trying to get ahold of her at 5:30 on a Saturday morning (one of my nipple piercings fell out overnight--well, "fell out"--and I needed to know if she had spare jewelry to hold it open until I could get to the piercer's after work, since I had lost mine.)
