REQUESTED**
summary- your best friend caught the eye of the bass player in a band local to boston, your hometown, so you’re invited to the second to last stop of their US tour. they can definitely put on a show, and all of them are very welcoming when you meet them backstage. then there’s the asshole grumpy drummer with the inflated ego, who can’t seem to stop staring.
warnings- cursing, smoking, drinking, ???
band au (triplets are in their mid 20s)
drummer!matt x fem!reader (this song ^^ inspired me and it’s good af so i’m including it)
a/n: this has been brewing for a while and i kinda forking love this concept, i hope i brought it to life well! hope u enjoy and as always my inbox is open for whateva #kisses ****part 2 to come
@fawnchives @55sturn @teapartyprincess4two @l9vesick @sturnlova @cupidsword @junnniiieee07 @mattnchrisworld @cherrypostsposts
“are you sure you want to do this?” you ask her as you two linger by the bar at the back of the venue.
people are clearing out, all happily chattering after an incredible concert. you have to admit that it was a great performance, and the sold out crowd helped.
they’re a pretty talented band. and the bass player really wants your best friend.
all it took to get him interested was a single comment on one of his recent posts. adelaide is undeniably gorgeous, and she’s also built a decent following through her recent modeling jobs.
she stands out in any comment section and in crowds like these, so it makes sense that he hit her up. that’s why you’re here anyways.
mister bass player had invited you guys to the first of two sold out shows in this place. it’s the last stop on the band’s US leg, in their hometown, which happens to be where you and adelaide live.
“yes dude, for the hundredth time, im sure. and he’s waiting on us, so stop stalling. i know you have more balls than that.” adelaide gives you a pointed look.
you can’t help but roll your eyes. “i promise you i don’t care enough about what these guys think to be scared.”
“now that sounds more like you.” she teases as she pulls her phone out of her back pocket.
the light from the screen illuminates her face, and you watch as she taps something out quickly.
“chris said someone is gonna come get us.”
“can’t wait.” you smile sarcastically as you respond.
addy doesn’t even get the chance to yell at you about your attitude before a big buff guy dressed in all black approaches the two of you, dark hair slicked against his skull. SECURITY is printed across his jacket in bold yellow letters.
“you ladies enjoy the show?” his voice is deep, which matches his huge stature perfectly.
“oh, it was amazing! i’m assuming you’re jason?” adelaide beams at him, pushing her dark curls out of her face.
he nods once. “that’s me. you guys ready to head backstage?”
“yup, just lead the way.”
the two of you follow jason back down toward the front of the stage, around the protective barricade to a door that almost blends right in with the venue’s dark walls.
he knocks on it three times. another tall man opens it for him and ushers the two of you inside before people start to pay too much attention.
“dressing rooms this way.” the new guy leads you through the backstage area, down a narrow hallway until he stops in front of one of the doors. there’s a little placard with their band name on it, which is cute.
this time nobody thinks to knock, because it’s already pretty loud. once the door swings open the sound is even more overwhelming.
you count seven people, all sitting around on the couches and vanity seats in the dim lighting. three of them are nearly identical, which surprises you. you thought there were only two brothers in the band.
several bottles of champagne crowd the coffee table already, and they’ve only been off the stage for ten minutes.
all of them are watching the two of you now, and it makes you want to crawl out of your skin.
“look who it is.” one of the twins (or apparently triplets) that’s sitting on the couch sets his glass down and gets up to greet you.
his brown hair is long, longer than the others, hidden slightly by a black boston hat. he’s dressed in a celtics jersey and baggy jeans, clearly happy to be representing his city tonight.
“good to see you, chris.” adelaide smiles into his chest as he pulls her into a tight embrace that lasts for a few seconds too long.
“i promise it’s better to see you.” he smirks as he finally pulls away, not even trying to hide his gaze as he admires the way her outfit hugs her body.
then he turns to you, and you suddenly feel like a spotlight is shining directly in your face.
“it’s nice to meet you too, y/n. addy tells me you’re even cooler than she is.” chris says, wrapping his arm around your friends shoulder lazily.
“can’t argue with that.” you shrug with a grin, impressed that he remembered your name without having to ask.
he looks around and clears his throat, and the others stop chatting. “everyone, this is adelaide and y/n. introduce yourselves.”
one of the clones that was sitting beside chris speaks up now. “shouldn’t they know who we are?”
he looks directly at you with an uninterested gaze that’s somehow still so intense you almost lose your breath. he’s in all black, fluffy hair styled a bit shorter than chris’s.
his harley davidson muscle tee is cut off right above his black pants, revealing just the smallest sliver of his stomach as he leans back against the cushions casually. so many tattoos, so many rings.
it’s annoying that you notice this, even despite how pissed off you are at his stupid question.
“i hate to burst your bubble, but i wouldn’t be able to guess your name even if someone put a gun to my head.” you bite back without thinking, and laughter erupts around you.
“that’s exactly what you deserve for a dickhead comment like that, matt.” another currently-unnamed guy says.
he’s on the other sofa with the last of the carbon-copy brothers, arm around the waist of the beautiful girl that’s perched on his lap. the couple smile at you and adelaide.
“feel free to ignore him. i’m nathan, lead guitar.” he introduces himself.
“i’m his girlfriend jen.” the dark-haired woman chimes in, offering you a friendly wave.
“im nick,” the triplet sitting next to them finally reveals his name, “i’m not in the band, i’m just their tour photographer. my brothers got the musical talent.”
“kids a genius with a camera though.” chris adds, still sidled up against adelaide.
“names sam. i’m the singer.” a blonde boy with hair cropped close to his skull says with a nod.
he’s sitting on one of the vanity chairs that’ve been set up in a half circle, tipping the rest of his champagne back after he speaks.
“and i’m just his older sister gabby.” the girl beside him sticks her hand out, and you take a step forward to shake it.
“dont say just. and i love your necklace.” you compliment the barbed wire chain around her throat, and she waves her free hand at you, flushing slightly.
“you’re sweet.”
“it’s nice to meet you all. the show was fantastic, we had a blast.” adelaide addresses everyone with that award-winning grin you know and love.
chris leads her over to the couch and they sit down, pressed against each other like they’re attached at the hip. you have to admit it’s a little cute. you take the open chair next to gabby, opting to avoid sitting next to matt just to be near your friend.
“are you both from boston too?” sam asks, reaching to refill his drink.
jen gets up from nate’s lap to grab two more glasses from one of the cabinets, which is a kind gesture that you weren’t really expecting.
“yeah. we met in college and ended up staying in the city together.” you answer as he moves to pour your champagne next.
“that makes you what, 22? i am about to serve you alcohol.”
you can’t help but laugh, so adelaide answers instead. “we’re 25, but i’ll take that as a compliment.”
he puts his hands up in apology as you grab your glass. “so not recent graduates then, my bad.”
you can still feel matt staring at you, and when you meet his gaze over the rim of your drink he doesn’t shy away. your own eyes narrow slightly, because you dont understand why he won’t fucking quit it.
“what do you do for work?” nathan questions, and you finally break out of your trance to look over.
“i was in publishing for a bit, but i mainly model now.” addy responds first.
chris’s hand goes to grip her thigh endearingly as she sips her champagne. “can’t you tell?”
“stop it.” she nudges him slightly, though you can see a faint blush appear beneath her bronzed skin.
nate rolls his eyes before looking your way. “and you?”
“i’m a media manager for a few different brands.”
“really? like who?”
it’s matt speaking, you know even before you turn your head to meet his cold eyes once more. he’s challenging you, inked arms crossed over his chest defensively as he waits for an answer.
“well for one, those pants you’re wearing? i work with that company.” you reply bluntly.
you’d recognize those cargos anywhere, the faded star patches are a dead giveaway. matt’s face drops in surprise, and nick snorts, giving you a nod of approval that doesn’t go unnoticed.
“i can’t believe you work for vamped. we all get like, half of our wardrobe from there.” he admits.
“raiding her closet is a real treat, trust me.” adelaide makes it sound like a joke, but she actually does love to come over and steal all your favorite pieces.
it would be annoying if you didn’t love her so much.
jen smiles, cuddled back up on her boyfriend’s knee as she looks between the two of you. “i like you girls already.”
“yeah, and i respect anyone who can humble matt that quickly.” sam nods along in agreement, and you recognize that he’s talking about you in particular.
“oh, so i take it he’s like this all the time then?” your question is directed at sam, but you’re looking at the subject himself as you ask it.
“pretty much.” chris nudges matt with a silly grin, and he scowls in return, though he’s still watching you.
you can’t decipher what he’s feeling, what he’s thinking, and you don’t like it one bit. to be fair, you don’t know him at all yet, but you know the type.
you’ve met enough high profile people through vamped to understand that this kid thinks he’s some kind of god, probably because his friends tell him so.
but you’re not his friend, and you don’t owe him any politeness if he can’t bother to reciprocate it. you keep your eyes on him as sam redirects the conversation away from the two of you, another challenge of your own, and he finally looks away a moment later.
you take it as a win.
a few rounds of drinks later you can feel the heat creeping up your cheeks, blissfully tipsy as you continue to swap stories about anything and everything with the rest of the group.
chris and adelaide are in their own little world, whispering shit back and forth to each other like school girls.
matt hasn’t said a single word to you since you name-dropped your highest paying client just to embarrass him. he watches the rest of you interact, though that burning gaze of his always seems to meet yours anyways.
its driving you crazy, and you’re itching for a quick pause from the socialization, as nice as (almost) everyone has been.
“i’m gonna go for a smoke.” you address the group, mainly adelaide, and you’re met with a couple nods.
“same.” matt replies gruffly, and your heart falters.
of fucking course.
he pushes himself to a standing position before you can protest, or say anything really. his shirt is even more cropped now that he’s stretched to his full height, and you’re staring straight at his exposed happy trail and v-line. you’re pretty sure you see the top of a small tattoo by his hip.
your mouth goes dry, and you busy yourself grabbing your little purse from the floor.
“hurry back, i wanna hear more about this PR box fiasco.” gabby points a finger at you as you get up next, and you smile even though you know it’s a weak attempt.
“i’ll be quick.” you promise her.
adelaide gives you a little wave goodbye, which doesn’t quell your nerves as you turn to follow matt, who doesn’t wait for you to catch up.
he just throws the dressing room door open carelessly, letting it swing back so you have to stop it with your hand before it hits you. you glare at the back of his head, though you follow him in silence because you don’t know the way outside.
another security guard stands in the hall, and matt greets him with a quick nod as he heads outside, once again neglecting to hold it for you.
you mutter a quick hello to the man before stepping onto the little back patio. it’s the end of summer, edging toward fall now, so there’s just a slight chill in the air.
he’s already leaned up against the brick wall, situated on one of the steps down to the gated parking lot. for the first time tonight, he’s actually not looking at you, and it’s somewhat of a relief.
you dig around in your bag to retrieve your crinkled carton of cigarettes, flipping the lid open to pull one out and stick it between your lips. you’re about to put them away when matt clears his throat.
“can i bum one?” he asks softly.
it’s the least aggressive he’s been all night, and it throws you so off guard you can’t find anything to say back so him. so you just nod slowly, grabbing another cigarette for him and passing it over.
“thanks.”
“you got a light? couldn’t bring mine in.” you mutter, though your words slur because of the cig that’s between your teeth.
matt nods, ruffling his hair with one hand as the other slips into his back pocket. he pulls out a red disposable lighter and ignites it in one swift motion.
he holds it up to your mouth, burning the end of the thin roll of tobacco. he’s staring at your lips, thinking about how soft they look wrapped around that filter paper.
matt doesn’t want to be wondering what it would be like to feel them against his own, because you embarrassed him. he hates being embarrassed, especially by someone who walked right into his dressing room like she owned it.
you’re unlike any girl he’s ever met, and he’s fucking entranced.
you inhale, glancing to meet his blue eyes as the smoke fill your lungs, completely unaware of his thoughts. it’s familiar, and it calms you down a little bit.
you pull it from your mouth to exhale, watching as he lights his own before slipping the plastic device back into his pocket. he slumps back up against the wall, kicking one leg up to steady himself.
it’s silent again for a moment while you both enjoy the brief hits of nicotine, letting the clouds swirl up into the night. you both go to ash at the same time, and he breaks the tension first.
“so, what did you think of the show, sweetheart? your friend spoke for you, but i’m sure you have your own opinion.” he says, one side of his mouth tilted up.
you weigh up his statement, rewinding to an hour ago. you guys were in the upper wing, right by the stage in the front row. the view was great, and the energy was definitely there.
you remember matt, sweaty and focused as he banged on those fucking drums like his life depended on it. your eyes were drawn to him for a lot of the performance, to the intensity he brought to the stage.
that was before you knew about his superiority complex, though you should have been expecting it. he is, after all, a rising rock star.
“it was good.” you reply bluntly, shrugging as you bring your cigarette back to your lips.
he fully smiles now, though it’s not a warm one. then he follows your lead and takes another drag as well, his tattoos shifting as his muscles flex and relax due to the movement.
“don’t fucking humor me.” matt finally says seriously, and you narrow your eyes.
“i wasn’t, but it doesn’t matter either way. you think you’re the shit regardless.” you snap back.
matt softens a bit at your tone, but he’s also backed into a corner. you confuse him, because you’re impossible to read. that’s never happened to him before, and it’s annoyingly enticing.
“you don’t know a damn thing about me.”
“i know your type.” you argue sourly, sucking in another mouthful of smoke.
he turns his full attention to you now, shifting so he can look you right in the eyes. you wish it didn’t intimidate you so much, but the way he’s been leering at you all night makes you sweat.
“and what type would that be, hm?” matt goads.
you nudge at the concrete with the toe of your sneaker, pausing briefly to compose your answer.
“you’re arrogant, which either comes from the fame or the praise, or most likely both. in fact, you’re so cocky that you probably can’t be around anyone without patronizing them. i bet they all tell you how talented and badass you are, but you wanna know what i think?” you ask him, taking a hit of your cigarette for dramatic effect.
and it works. matt is hanging onto every word, waiting for you to deliver the final punch as you take a step closer, blowing the vapor toward him.
“i think that the whole time, they’re just waiting for you to shut the fuck up.”
for a second the world is still, and neither of you move an inch. he’s just studying you, eyes skipping across your face like he’s trying to commit it to memory.
“you want to know what i think?” he questions you quietly, and you can’t help but watch his lips as they move.
so pretty and pink, and you know he would taste like tobacco and sweat. you want to give in, but you won’t. one thing about you is that you’re stubborn, and you refuse to make the first move for this asshole.
“i think you like it.” matt finishes, so close to your lips now that he’s practically whispering his words against them.
just as you think he’s about to kiss you, to give you the power you crave, he tosses his cigarette to the ground and snuffs it out before stepping around you.
the only reminder that the moment was real is the door slamming shut behind him.

Because I love you too much.
Charli Grant x reader.
Warning: idiots in love, angst.
Summary: She loved you too much.
*********
You and Charli had been practically inseparable since youth team. You did everything together, you went to the beach together, you went to restaurants together, you went practically everywhere with eachother.
If you were somewhere you could guarantee Charli wasn't far. It was a comfort, she was a comfort to you.
Then you managed to both get a contract at Adelaide. You felt as if nothing could go wrong, you would play as one when you were on the pitch together, with you both being defenders and being on the same team you were unstoppable. You had been named the 'dream team', 'the ones to watch' and so many other things.
Then she just had to up and leave to Sweden.
To say it broke you would be an understatement, it shattered you. You felt like your world was caving in around you. Like you had been ripped from your home, like the only sense of familiarity you had basically your whole life had been ripped from under you. Leaving you alone. And scared.
But what hurt even more was the way Charli grew more distant. She would keep her distance, barely visited you when she came home to visit her family. Until eventually all contact stopped.
You had decided it was for the better, you changed your number, moved all the way to Arsenal but yet you still couldn't bring yourself to block her number. Just in case, you thought.
There never was a 'case' where you had the pleasure of seeing her name illuminate your phone screen again. Not for a long while.
Finally, you found peace. You had moved on, found new friends and a new sense of comfort in the Arsenal girls. Caitlin specifically taking you under her wing, calling herself your 'aussie mentor'. She made you laugh. It was a nice change of pace to the nights you had spent crying and screaming Charli's name in anger.
Then the world cup came around. You were desperately hoping for a call-up. So much so you hadn't slept the day before you were supposed to get the news. And when your phone finally rang, cutting through the deafening silence that invaded your flat as you stared at your phone, picking your nails and biting your lip; you practically jumped onto the coffee table you had your phone perched on.
"Hello?" The caller said. Holy shit, you thought, I'm speaking with the coach of the fucking matildas.
"Hello, Ms Y/L/N?" Then you remembered you actually had to speak, so you cleared your throat.
"Uh, yes. Hello, this is me." You cringed at the way you nervously stumbled through your sentence.
"I'm calling to tell you you've received a call up. Welcome to the Matildas, Y/L/N. See you soon." They hung up. You shook with excitement. You cried with excitement. And you screamed so loudly you're surprised you didn't get a noise complaint the following day.
Sending a text to Caitlin, you grinned from ear to ear the rest of the week.
That is until you got to Australia and realised Charli was there, too. That was a very rude awakening.
During the first training session you of course were paired with Charli. You cursed under your breath as you begin doing keepy-ups with her back and forth.
"Grant," You said, your voice blunt, you were in no mood for her bullshit at the moment. You were here to win a world cup.
"Y/L/N," She said back, her voice quieter than yours and her usually vibrant eyes seemingly dimmed slightly at your tone. The ghost of a smirk that crossed her face when she saw you dying.
It was almost enough for you to want to hug her so tightly she couldn't breathe. God you had missed her.
At the end of the training session, for which you were paired with Charli the whole time, you had enough. You needed to speak to her, you needed closure. You needed her. You needed your best friend back.
You hung back in the locker rooms, waiting till everyone had left and as per usual Charli was the only still left over, she saw you and awkwardly gave you a tight lipped smile.
"Hey," You began.
"Hi," She said back. You felt your heart twist.
"I want to speak with you," You murmured.
"About what?" She questioned. You groaned out loud at her oblivious nature.
"Us, Char.." You said, slowly sitting down on the bench across from her.
"What about us?" She said again, clearly having caught on to what you meant, then again maybe she knew what you meant all along and was just trying to get off easy.
"Why did we drift apart, Charli?" You asked, your voice breaking slightly as tears welled in your eyes.
She sighed and wiped her eye with the back of her hand, her lip trembling when she met your eyes, it was enough to make you need to bite down a sob.
"Because I loved you too much, Y/N." Your eyes widened. She loved you? She loved you?
"What?" You said, standing slightly as you tried to get a handle on what she just said, "You- You love me?" You stumbled over your words.
"I get it, if the feelings aren't mutual. It's why I left for Sweden. I thought you were straight. And I didn't want to make things weird-" You cut her off by bringing her into a searing kiss.
When you finally broke apart, you rested your forehead against hers, your hands clutching either side of her face as if she would walk away from you again, as if this wall just a figment of your imagination, or even a dream. But if it was, you never wanted it to end.
"I am so madly in love with you, you massive idiot."
She chuckled, bringing you into another soft kiss.
At least you had your girl back. And even if it went way differently than you imagined, it still went so incredibly well.

CHEERFUL OBLIVION - WANDA MAXIMOFF X F!READER (CHAPTER FIVE)ㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ
chapter one chapter two chapter three chapter four chapter five chapter six ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
masterlist
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
WARNINGS: torture, angst, violence, blood, mentions of death, fluff, angst with a happy ending. Death. ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules/Stolas is portrayed by Adelaide Kane. Here. My recommendation and personal request is that you listen to this song, it will lull you throughout the chapter (and the next one): - Comes and Goes (in waves) - Greg Laswell
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤCHAPTER FIVE
Her gaze remained on that cup of steaming and hot coffee, so lost in her thoughts that she didn't know how much time passed. The scent reached her nose and made the demon sigh deeply.
Y/N looked down to see her watch, 4 am and they still had nothing.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
This one's for the lonely, the one's that seek and find. Only to be let down, time after time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
After Y/N and Jules left the Compound, they found a perfect hideaway on an old ranch for sale in Wyoming. The place was abandoned for many years, the owners wanted to sell the place since it was 'haunted'. What they didn't know was that all those screams were thanks to a demon, who loved visiting the place at this time of year.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Around that house in the forest there was nothing but trees and the black night that surrounded them. ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
‘No, I don't know why you're not there. I give you my love, but you don't care. So what is right and what is wrong? Give me a sign.’
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
It was possibly the twentieth time she heard that song in an hour; 'What is love?' from Haddaway. The desperate screams from the room next did nothing but make her yawn. The music was so loud that it could have possibly blown up the door like it was a cartoon.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
After a few minutes, the door opened, letting out an adorable brunette who approached with the cutest smile ever. However, the blood on her face and body and the sword in her hand did not seem to match it. It looked like something out of a terrifying scene in Carrie.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you think he's ready to talk?”  Y/N asked as she looked up, Jules nodded quickly. She seemed to be in a very good mood and was a bit creepy.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I think our big mouth is ready.” Jules said excitedly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Let’s do this.” Taking a deep breath, Y/N stood up from her seat somewhat lazily. As soon as she crossed the threshold, the red lamp that moved on the ceiling from side to side started to flicker.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The place was full of blood, some stuff lying on the floor, broken glass, as well as a guy tied to a chair in the middle of the room. The song keeps playing, but Jules turns down the volume, so Y/N could talk.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Can you stop that damn thing?!” That man shouted tiredly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
At first glance, he looked like a man in his forties, the dark hair was soaked in blood as were different parts of his body. He looked tired, but not enough to shut up.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What?” Jules pouted. “You don't like the song? It's my favorite! I love the 90’s!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It was our best time.” Y/N nodded.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s the worst song ever!” He spat the blood aside.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
His eyes were not human, they were yellow and had huge, horizontal pupils like a toad's. Sensing the desperation, Jules turned the volume up again, higher and higher.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
‘I want no other, no other lover.  This is our life, our time . If we are together, I need you forever. What is love? Oh baby, don't hurt me! Don't hurt me! No more!’
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Please, stop!”  He begged one more time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We're not going to stop, you low range scum!” But Y/N smiled widely, leaning down to cup his chin, she kinda enjoyed all this. After all, she was a demon. “Tell us what Abaddon will do! What is her next move?!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
But even though Y/N could be intimidating, the demon just let out a laugh. His pearly white teeth were stained with blood.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you think I would betray Abaddon?” The demon kept laughing as blood began to run down the nose. “She would disintegrate me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Silence reigned for a moment and then Jules laughed, so loud and so sincere that it made the demon look at her blankly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh my- did... did you hear that?" The brunette said without even being able to breathe. She had definitely never heard anything so wrong or funnier.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you know what I can do to you? Do you know who I am?” Smiling at the demon's confused face, Y/N grabbed the man's jaw and squeezed it so hard with just one hand that the guy started screaming.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“This is what I hate about low-ranking demons like you, stupid uncultured pawns.” Y/N hissed with enormous hatred and disgust, squeezing harder and harder. “I’m not a Knight… I’m not a Prince, like Stolas here. She’s even more important than you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The irony and cruelty with which she said that showed that her demonic nature was still inside, of course she didn’t show it unless it was with beings as cruel as that one demon.
Something that Captain America would never accept.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I’m primordial.” Y/N said without further ado, summoning her sword which appeared in her hand. Tightening her grip, she rested the sharp point on the demon's cheek. “If Abaddon can hurt you, believe me, I will make you believe that Abaddon is heaven compared to what I will do to you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
A small cut on his neck made the demon open his eyes in fear, deeply in pain. It wasn't a superficial cut, but those blades caused death for beings like them. An ex-angelic sword, which was no longer used for good, was not an ordinary sword.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Talk and I let you survive.” Y/N ordered once more, before cutting again, this time several sensitive areas.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The demon began to scream desperately and without further hesitation, began to blurt out everything he had to say.
He spent a long time revealing everything Abaddon thought, believed and would do. So much so that Y/N thought that maybe he knew too much for a low-ranking demon, it was a bit suspicious.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“She'll go get them tomorrow afternoon.” The toad demon whispered in defeat and pain, in front of those two demons who looked at him with distrust. Jules narrowed her eyes, waiting for Y/N's decision. “...When the sun is near the horizon, when it burns red as hell, she will ravage the place.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Nodding slowly, Y/N grabbed the sword again and approached him violently. Even though the demon pleaded for his life, the snake finally pierced his neck with strength. His eyes flashed before he burned.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
She didn't need to know any more than that. “Seven days my ass, I knew that bitch wasn't going to wait that much.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I need to let them know.” Y/N growled and left that room with some haste and confusion. Didn't expect the redhead to play such a dirty card like that, but if she did it, was because Abaddon  no longer trusted Y/N’s word.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What’s our next move?” Jules whispered, afraid to ask.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing, Y/N placed hands on her hips, trying to think of thousands of possibilities at once. Something that would guarantee them a victory, but it was very difficult with everyone against them. Even minutes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I need you to do something.” she finally said after a few minutes in silence, she had possibly chosen the worst decision of her life. Y/N grabbed a pencil and paper, doodling a sigil. “I need you to go to this place, write it down exactly as I tell you… and Jules? You’ll say exactly as I tell you. No more, no less.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules frowned and took the paper, confused by so much 'mystery' but when she saw the sigil her eyes widened. “Do you want me dead? They hate me more than they hate you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N approached her friend, placing her hands on the brunette's shoulders. “I promise you that nothing like what you think will happen. Nothing bad will happen if you say what I need you to say.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules whispered and looked at the doodles. “This means it's worse than I imagined.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We need big cards, Stolas.” Y/N swallowed hard. Of course the worst would come soon. “I've been thinking about how to stop her, and each idea is one worse than another.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules didn't say anything, just nodded.

While everyone was discussing and planning how to protect themselves from Abaddon's attack, once Wanda explained who the hell she was after seeing Y/N's memories, the sokovian decided to walk away and lock herself in her room, tired of listening to them fight and argue. She was fed up with those loud thoughts and fears.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
This one's for the torn down, the experts at the fall. Come on friends, get up now, you're not alone at all.
The brunette remained silent, sitting on her bed. The tissues around her were quite snitchy. Wanda was quiet as the tears fell, those red eyes and nose showing how tired she was of crying.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
How could fate be so cruel? To say it was fate and  not the decisions of a handful of cruel demons playing with her life? Deciding who lives and who dies.
She squeezed her eyes shut as memories came to her in a flash.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The knocking on the door made Wanda look up, waiting to see who dared to bother her.
The one who entered was none other than Natasha Romanoff, with a small friendly smile and guilt in those green eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Can I come in?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You already came in, right?” Wanda said with a small smile as she wiped the tears and threw the tissues into the trash can.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The widow came over to sit next to Wanda. She understood very well the pain her friend was going through, the lies they fell into, losing the one you love most was unbearable.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Sorry, everything is… chaos.” Natasha hesitated whether to continue, she chose those words very poorly and scolded herself for it. “It is not our intention to make you feel worse. They want to protect you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know.”  Wanda sighed sadly. Didn't want to cause any more problems than they already had.  This was all her fault.
Natasha took a deep breath, grateful for the silence in that place. She was sick of listening to Steve and Tony fight like children. But something caught her attention quickly, something changed in the room. The pictures of Y/N and Wanda that were lying in the trash can.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Haven't you heard from her?” The redhead dared to ask, turning to look at Wanda who tensed up at the mention of Y/N.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I don't even want to see her again.” The witch hissed angrily, falling victim to endless mixed feelings. She missed her, loved her, hated her, she was furious with her but also missed Y/N’s gaze. The way she held her hand, the way Y/N made her feel safe.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“But you miss her.” Natasha whispered, placing a supportive hand on Wanda's shoulder. “I'm not judging you, it's not wrong to do so. After all, your feelings were real.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“And even though I hate it I could see that her feelings are real too. That's why I feel so angry.”  Wanda turned to look at her friend, with those huge green eyes full of tears. Tears of helplessness and disappointment.  “I feel so… stupid. So confused."
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Anguish threatened to close her throat, making her voice hoarser.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“She knew me my whole life, knew everything that happened to me and yet didn't do anything.”  Wanda finally allowed herself to let go, so painful that even Nat felt a little tear escape her eyes.  “She let my parents die, Pietro died.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“And…” The sokovian breathed deeply, trying to stop herself from crying and trying to come to her senses, to be strong as she needed to.  “And I hate myself for still loving her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Of course those words were true, she loved Y/N. Couldn't let go of her feelings overnight, even if she wanted to, if Wanda could forget the demon, she would without hesitation.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The one who didn't hesitate was Natasha, who hugged her friend and cradled her for a while. “I’m truly sorry, Wanda.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Natasha comforted the brunette as she vented. Letting the pain take over her was not a good option, and the widow was not going to allow anyone to Wanda her like they did to her in the Red Room.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I can't even process what I am, what I'm supposed to be.” Wanda whispered once she sat back down on the bed as Nat brought her a cup of tea. “The Scarlet Witch.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
She looked down at the steaming cup of tea.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I must be something so evil... that I only cause disasters and pain to everyone I love.”  Those words came from the depths of her heart, filled with so much pain.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“No one can tell you who you are, Wanda. It doesn't matter 'what you're made for' or whether you're 'a perfect weapon', your decisions will always be yours. And you’re not evil.”    Nat took her hand and sighed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
She wasn't going to let her friend feel the way she felt for so long, not allowing herself to enjoy love and friendship. She was much more than all that pain.
Smiling at her sister, she squeezed Wanda’s hand and then hugged her tightly. Whatever was coming, they were all going to go through it together and win.

“Friday, raise security to the maximum. Stay alert for any movement.” Tony walked through the workshop. Next to the common area, the workshop was a section that provided controlled conditions in which scientific or technological research, experiments, and measurement may be performed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
It was Tony's favorite place, after the kitchen, of course. He was one of the few who didn't live in the compound.
Stark carefully observed the result that Friday showed on the screen.
Suddenly the door opened, drawing his attention, especially seeing that it was Bruce who entered in a bit of a hurry.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Tony.” The doctor took off his glasses somewhat clumsily. “What do you need from me? If this is because of the big guy-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Frowning, Tony turned to look at him blankly. “What?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You sent me a text, you told me to come urgently.”  Bruce looked at him with the same confused face. Even looked for his phone to show him the text.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I didn't-”  The man was going to continue but a new presence made them turn around, astonished.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It was me. Hi.” Y/N appeared in front of them and quickly raised her hands in surrender as she saw how Tony was immediately about to attack. It was going to be much worse if Bruce brought the big guy to the fight.  “Easy, gentlemen, I'm not here to look for trouble...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You would have thought about it before sneaking around us for so long.” Quickly, as Tony squeezed one of his rings, a rapid nanotech gauntlet formed on his arm ready to fire at the demon. It probably wouldn't hurt, maybe angering the demon, but he'll die trying.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I can help you, but you have to listen to me.”  Y/N hurriedly said, taking a few steps away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Using her sensory powers, she made sure that there was no one around them. Just the three of them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We don't need your help.” Bruce exclaimed unbuttoning the collar of his shirt, ready to go.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Bruce, don’t.”  She tilted her head, looking into his eyes. Even though Bruce tried and struggled to let go of the Hulk to the point of turning red, the big green guy didn't appear. “He knows I'm not coming to hurt you. So stop, you're embarrassing yourself.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“How-?” Bruce stammered blankly. Tony just rolled his eyes, lowering his arm.
Once they were sure that Y/N wasn't planning on attacking them, they let their guard down.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
"What are you doing here? If Wanda sees you, we are the last thing you should worry about.” Stark ironically joked as he approached his screen to scan the place again, making sure everything was fine. There was definitely a BIG flaw if Y/N could show up just like that.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you want the world to survive this catastrophe?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Believe me, we will do it.” He gave a wry chuckle, they always did. Hydra, Loki, Ultron.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“This isn't like your movie villain, Stark. It’s not some guy with lightning whips, or a tantrum-y god. This goes further.” Y/N moved closer to look at the screen but Tony quickly minimize it.  “This doesn't just endanger this planet, this endangers all realities.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Realities? What do you mean?” Bruce frowned. “Is a multiverse something possible?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It is not a 'possibility', it is already a reality.” Y/N waved her hand, downplaying the talk, especially when both nerds seemed very interested in knowing more. “But we don't have time to talk about multiverses and alternate realities. We need a plan now, or Chton is going to screw them all up.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What does Chton want? Especially with Wanda.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Chton was a big demon, one of the cruelest beings that ever existed. He was banished many years ago… and wants to come back.” Y/N swallowed, thinking about the chaos that would engulf them all.  “According to an old prophecy, he would do it thanks to a great sorceress who would have the power to handle the Chaos Magic, at such a level that she would break with any reality and modify it to her convenience. So when he does… all realities are going to collapse. One on top of another like dominos.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
That sounded so terrifying that Tony Stark swallowed hard, lowering his self-loving know-it-all attitude. That sounded chaotic, a world where nothing would make sense.
Not only would they die, all the worlds, all the realities.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you want your daughter to live a nice life?”  Y/N continued, knowing that would hit deep. The demon tilted her head as she saw the surprise in Stark's gaze, those big brown eyes so wide they would pop out of his head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Bruce had his mouth open like a fish out of water, more confused than Tony.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I'm not stupid, I know Pepper is pregnant.” The demon took a seat in one of the chairs and crossed her legs, so sassy. “It’s a very healthy baby, by the way.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Tony was surprised but hesitant. No one else knew that, only Pepper and him.
They had had an appointment with a doctor outside the compound so that everything would be a nice surprise. They had been trying to plan it for a week until Abaddon threatened to attack them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Congratulations?” Bruce murmured, smiling somewhat happily for his friend.
He went over to hug Tony, who smiled proudly, forgetting everything for a moment. They had decided to hide it until this new chaos passed.
Especially when the Knight of Hell left a box at the door of the compound, with a quite terrifying message.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Will you listen to me?” Y/N asked, this time it was more of a plea.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing and knowing that it was best to get the upper hand, even if they had to work with a dirty, lying demon like Y/N, it was their best chance to win. The enemy of your enemy is your friend or something like that.  “What do you need?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I need both of you working together.” Y/N sighed and stood up from her seat. “I know Ultron left you a little hurt, but this time... you will truly protect this world. And must keep the secret until it is time.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I don't like the idea of lying to them… again.” Crossing his arms, Bruce slowly shook his head. He wasn't willing to go through the same thing, that almost made the team break up forever and the world needed the Avengers.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“This time you’ll save their lives thanks to it.” The demon insisted.  “Steve would never allow my help, much less Wanda. We'll say it's your idea.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“That's true, both of them can't even say your name. And if Natasha sees you, she will kill you.”  Tony smiled wryly as he poured himself a glass of scotch.
Showing him the middle finger first, Y/N typed a long amount of numbers on the screen quickly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Friday, save this, please. These are the exact coordinates of the perfect place, where everything will begin. I need us to play with the lead.” She expanded the screen thanks to Friday, showing them the place.
Tony approached to see with curiosity, it wasn't close at all but the demon was right, it was a good place for a battle.  Far from any kind of innocent victims.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
They kept talking and planning for about two hours, trying to find a solution. Y/N's idea was completely crazy and made no sense at all, but it was the only one available to them.  It was their best shot.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Can you do it in 24 hours?”  Y/N asked with some concern. Looking at that screen, the theory was good but the practice could be... difficult. Even for such an advanced engineer.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do I need to sleep?” Tony said sarcastically.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Believe me, you will when you die.” Y/N responded in the same way.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We know a guy who can help with this… machine.” Thoughtfully, Tony watched the screen, trying to remove and add a few things. How can you build a thing like that from nothing? “We will do the best we can. Three great brains at work... and yours, of course.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You have to do better than that.”  Y/N frowned.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
She looked at her watch, hoping that Stolas would score a victory in her mission. She must have already been arriving.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Your ‘mission’ is to take back the book. That's at least what they can know.”   The demon took a sheet of paper and quickly drew what the book would look like, since there was no type of information that talked about this.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Tony walked over to look at it, raising an eyebrow.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The ‘Darkhold’?”  He mocked. “Didn't they have a better name in the underworld? I thought that maybe with so many artists there, you demons would be more creative."
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Rolling her eyes, Y/N  fixed her gaze on Bruce, who seemed to look more attentive at the moment.  “Hear me clearly… You cannot use that book, from any point of view, never open it. The Darkhold holds secrets and curses so ancient they would destroy any reality. It will destroy your hearts, your minds and your souls.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
An awkward silence remained for a moment. Despite Tony's sarcastic humor, he understood that this was not the time for jokes, everyone's fate was really at stake. And not just because of the big fight, but because of what came after that.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“No matter what they promise you… they’ll never give you what you want. It is a trap.”  The demon reaffirmed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
After a few seconds and knowing that she counted on them both understanding the task, the presence of a new person made Tony jump.
Jules looked at everyone a little agitated, she seemed shocked but was undoubtedly still alive.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s done.” Jules grimaced, not very happy with that decision, but when she saw Tony and Bruce her face changed so quickly. Stolas smiled tenderly and waved. “Hi.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I hope this works.” Y/N sighed deeply, for a moment she wondered if it would work but she no longer had time to doubt. The minutes passed and they played with a disadvantage. At the surprised gaze of both humans, she spread her wings for a moment.  Great and enormous wings, so black but still as soft as an angel's, Y/N smiled as she remembered that feeling.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Nice.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Taking courage, she plucked one of the feathers and moaned in pain. A searing pain, and so unique, a pain she had never felt before.
Sighing, Y/N approached Tony to hand him the feather, which after snapping her fingers, turned into a blue liquid in a very tiny bottle.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“This is something unique, that very few humans have had the pleasure of obtaining. And as you know, none of them are alive.” Y/N said as she looked at that liquid and handed it to Tony, who seemed quite curious as well as surprised. Possibly thinking how much he could use it if he only knew how. “Be careful, don't use it all. I risked my ass with an archangel for that.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Bruce cleared his throat, making her turn.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“An… a-archangel gave this to you?” Bruce stammered and looked at that tiny bottle as if he were holding an important grail.  Everything already challenged beliefs, needed to know more.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I wish… it’s just my old feather. They just allowed me to get my wings for a moment.” The demon wrinkled her nose and walked away, still feeling a stinging pain. “They think I will use them for battle tomorrow against Abaddon, but it was actually for this, so… no one can know.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You made a deal with them.”  Stark walked away from her and took that liquid to one of his devices so he could analyze it. “Isn't that worse?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N shrugged, knowing it couldn't get any worse. “I go one thing at a time.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“In fact, you have two.”  Jules' voice made her turn around, watching as she handed a small bottle to Bruce.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
"What are you doing?” The higher-demon approached Jules with concern, whispering:  “That wasn’t in the deal.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know, I decided to add some stuff before doing it. It's mine.” The dark-haired woman patted her friend's shoulder, who looked at her in surprise. How dare she? Stolas was going against her own decisions, and yet, her heart softened at the sight of her friend's loyalty.  “I already told you, I'm with you. And they need to come back, so… two is better.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing, Y/N ended up nodding, knowing that she couldn't fight her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Wait here, I have to do something before we leave this place.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
That green-eyed girl took everything she needed and put it in a backpack, exactly as Natasha asked.  It seemed that Stark and Banner had a momentary solution, and that made the tension between everyone go down.
But what didn't seem to fade away was the fear she felt, the uncertainty of not knowing who or what she was.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Everyone repeated everything they found about the Scarlet Witch, but no one knew exactly. And of course, although  people didn't say it, since they found out who she was, everyone seemed afraid of her.
Suddenly, three knocks on the door caught the girl’s attention as she tried to close the backpack.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I'll be ready soon, Natasha.” Wanda said with a low tone of voice and that exquisite sokovian accent.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
But the one who opened the door was not the redhead, but someone else who believed and wished to never see again.
Y/N sighed and closed the door behind her, leaning against the door.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What are you doing here?” The Sokovian quickly became alert, chaos magic beginning to dance around her fingers.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know you hate me.” The demon began, the melancholy in her eyes said more than words.
Seeing Wanda again made her heart come back to life, beating once again. Y/N couldn't help but feel sadness when she saw those beautiful reddish eyes because of crying.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Leave me alone.” Wanda hissed, willing to defend herself if she had to.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
But Y/N didn't do anything else, just slowly approach her and see that woman with loving eyes, even if Wanda attacked her with fury, she would still see the love of her life more beautiful than ever.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I just want to say I love you.” Y/N stopped in front of her, even though she wasn't going to hurt her, she didn't want to make the Sokovian uncomfortable.  “Please, just let me explain and then I’ll leave.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
So close to home and so far away.
For a moment she allowed herself to get lost in her gaze, hoping to come clean. Y/N knew that it wasn't going to fix things with Wanda, but it was enough to say sorry before chaos broke loose.
Wanda shook her head, unable to believe how Y/N dared to ask to be 'heard'.  “I shouldn't even allow you to be here right now.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I’m sorry… I'm really sorry for lying to you, I'm sorry for hiding so much from you and above all... allowing them to hurt you.” Y/N said those words with so much sadness, with a lost look and a deep pain in her heart. “It is my fault.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Tears escaped, slowly falling down Y/N’s cheek. A gesture so pure, so sincere that it made Wanda hesitate for a few moments. She would never have thought that a demon could cry.
All the happy memories with Y/N flashed through her mind, knowing that her beloved's pain was genuine, but her own… That was much deeper and blinding. That one was a lot more painful.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You are a demon.” Those harsh words made Y/N squirm, she wasn't going to forgive her. Wanda just shrugged, wasn't going to get it so easily. “Your tears don't move me, Y/N. Oh, yeah. Y/N isn't your real name.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Of course I tried to tell you my name, but you never listen to me!” Y/N tried, really trying to be patient. With any other human being she would have exploded but with Wanda, well, she was the exception to every rule. “I would like you to know the real me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The real you?” Wanda giggled sarcastically and tilted her head.  “That sadistic and malicious creature? The one who looked aside when me and my brother were dying of hunger? The one that let my parents die without doing anything about it?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I didn't know you and I was doing what they asked me to do. It's millennia, Wanda, millennia being the same and then I met you, and-” She tried to reason with her but Wanda just rolled her eyes, taking her backpack to leave what she considered 'home' for all that time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You make me want to be better.” Y/N followed her, until Wanda stopped. For that tiny second, the demon had hope. Maybe those words would give her a chance, at least to say goodbye.
Wanda turned on her heels, and ending Y/N's anticipation, she finally said. She met Y/N's gaze so that the demon knew, so that the demon understood, that those were really her words and not the pain:  “After everything I saw... I would never love you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N's hope and heart fell to the ground, breaking completely.
Feeling how the weight on that chest became more and more painful and overwhelming. There were no happy endings for demons.
And to finish stabbing the dagger, Wanda whispered:  “I would never love something like you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Accepting what she deserved, Y/N nodded quickly swallowing all the pain.
The demon simply decided to lower her gaze and walk out the door without further ado, everything was said and everything was done.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
There was no turning back.
Tumblr media
Leaving Y/N behind, Wanda quickly walked towards the elevator, hiding there until the doors closed behind.
Once they did, thanks to Friday who stopped the elevator so she could have a moment alone, the brunette allowed herself to cry uncontrollably for a long time.
Hugging herself, thinking about how much she wanted to go back and hug Y/N, to kiss her and forget everything. Want to go back in time, want everything to go well for the first time in her life.
Coming to her senses, Wanda left the elevator and finally entered the conference room, where everyone was planning what to do, how to attack and what the real mission of all this was.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“But they want her for what she will be.” was heard, they stopped when Wanda entered the room. An awkward silence tenses everything, until the only one who was brave to break it was Stark.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The Scarlet Witch, Harbinger of Chaos.”  Tony explained to everyone, looking at Wanda, but not in an accusatory way. Strangely, Tony understood the situation thanks to Y/N.
The girl just played with her rings, feeling uncomfortable and exposed.  “The Scarlet Witch was not just born but also forged. Her power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme, and her destiny was… to destroy the world.” He sighed. “But what we are here for... is to avoid it. I don't think your power is destructive, Wanda.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What will we do then? We can't hand her over to… that thing.” Steve kept his brow furrowed, totally serious. He was one in that room of those who would defend Wanda until death.  “How do you know all this?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Y/N.” Wanda murmured, knowing perfectly well the reason why Y/N visited her room.
To give them information that they could use.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do we have to believe in a demon? A demon? That will do it because of the goodness in her heart?” Rhodey exclaimed in a mocking manner, shaking his head.
Even though he used to be a pain in the ass sometimes, he was right.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I don't think Y/N is lying here, there's no point in warning us.”  Kate murmured somewhat nervously, noticing all the eyes on her. She stirred as if she sensed many birds of prey ready to devour her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Kid, just let the adults talk.” Rhodey narrowed his eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
As soon as she heard his tone, Yelena suddenly stood up and pointed at the man, threatening: “Don't talk to her like that again.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Everyone started arguing again, like the sixth time since they started the meeting, until Tony intervened:  “Whoa, whoa, whoa! Do you want to shut up? I found a way to save all of our lives, thank you very much.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Everyone was silent.
The mood was not easy to bear, everyone was tired, fearful, upset and anxious. Who wouldn't be? A battle was coming up that they didn't even know how to win.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The plan is simple, I have a place, I have an idea. We need to recover the book that caused all this, but we can't open it or read it. Destroying it is the only solution.” Tony walked around the room, observing his friends one by one. Faces of confusion, fear, and even some with a certain curiosity. “The book corrupts everything and everyone that it touches, our duty is to keep it where it is. Not using it.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Bruce was in charge of explaining and showing them the plan and projections of what they would do.  Friday helped by showing some probabilities, as well as the plans of that machine they would use.
As they had previously deduced, it was a completely out of the ordinary and crazy plan, but it was their only chance.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“So, this machine will…” Natasha said somewhat skeptically, trying to understand.
And she wasn't the only one, everyone seemed a little worried about that sudden 'idea'.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“That will allow us to escape.” Bruce nodded, taking off his glasses. “Not everyone will be able to come, but those who do, know that we will do everything possible to protect this reality. Those who stay must protect the place.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s insane.” Someone said.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It is, but it’s our last chance. So… Who’s coming?” Tony asked, watching as some of his friends raised their hands quickly.
The man smiled with a certain pride, knowing that they would give their lives so that this planet would have another dawn.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda simply remained silent, her gaze as lost as she was in her thoughts. She couldn't even look at her friends, this was all because of her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Natasha saw her so quiet and placed a hand on Wanda’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Don't worry, we won't let them do anything to you, kid.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Looking at her, Wanda simply nodded her head hoping that this was really true.

NAMIB DESERT  TWENTY-FOUR HOURS LATER
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Are you sure it’s here?” Natasha asked, grimacing as the Quinjet's door opened.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
At least she was grateful that there was no problem parking it, all around them could be seen vast sand dunes, dry trees and a claypan. Some wild animals ran away at the presence of strangers.
Deadvlei was a claypan, between the dunes in the Namib-Naukluft Park. The heat was oppressive, the sun remained high and that meant they still had time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Grimacing, Wanda went down after Nat who was walking in front with Steve and Tony.
The day finally arrived, and those who had decided to go on the 'mission' were Steve, Tony, Clint, Kate, Yelena and Natasha.
Bucky promised to take care of the place along with Bruce, Sam and the others, delaying Abaddon as much as possible.  The big green guy was going to do everything possible to stop her long enough.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The mission is to take back the Darkhold.”  Tony left the briefcase he was carrying on one of the platforms in front of them, a briefcase that opened with nanotech and little by little transformed into a kind of quadrangular machine.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Thanks to the help of an old friend of his father's, Henry Pym, Tony was able to use much of his tech to achieve what he thought impossible.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Everyone has their GPS, right? Come here, around the machine and… press it now.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Listening to what Stark asked, everyone surrounded that machine and finally pressed the GPS button. Quickly, a nanotech suit materialized perfectly around their clothes, except the helmet.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Good! It’s good!” Stark cheered and everyone seemed less worried. Even curious, playing and watching the material of that advanced suit. “I just need to get all the suits in sync-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Everything was ready, everyone was ready for this new adventure but a flutter of wings surprised them.
In the distance, two demons approached slowly trying to walk on the warm sand.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Is it ready?” Y/N asked, noticing everyone's tense gaze on her. Possibly mentally preparing herself for Natasha Romanoff to strike out at her at any moment.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What  is she doing here?!” Wanda asked, trying not to look at her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I’m also here. Hi!”  Jule added, waving at them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Did you make this plan with them?” Steve narrowed his eyes and then looked at Tony, who was trying to hide his embarrassed face.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Calm down, Rogers.” Tony tried to keep the peace. "Get back in your place, you're going to ruin everything! We need them!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“No, we don’t!” Steve exclaimed, pulling up his shield, ready to use it.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Come back to your place again, granny. You don't want to break your hip.” Stolas scoffed and of course that almost made Y/N laugh, but it definitely stole a laugh from Clint which he tried to hide.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
After a few minutes bickering, Y/N sighed deeply and ended up shouting: “Shut the fuck up!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Once again everyone seemed to get into a fight that they did not have the pleasure or privilege of having.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you want your friends to survive? Do you want this planet to keep spinning tomorrow?”  Y/N scolded and watched them one by one, even Wanda. Even though the sokovian had so many  reasons to be hurt, her life and the lives of others were in danger.  “Then do what you must. Do what we say! And you’ll survive!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Her voice was strong and imposing.
And everyone's guilty silence proved her right, especially when a thunder made everyone look at the sky. While they were arguing, huge black clouds began to form, devouring that blue sky. The sun was gone.
Blinking in surprise, Y/N looked up, knowing that there was no more time. The light was gone.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“They’re coming.” She whispered, quickly taking position in front of them.  “Stark, put this damn thing to work. Time to fly!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Upon hearing that, the avengers prepared to battle whatever was approaching. A breeze of wind rose, slightly moving the dry trees, making them creak.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What? I thought she would go through the Compound first-” Stark stammered commanding Friday to turn on the machine.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
With a desolate look, Y/N simply whispered:  “They must all be dead by now… this is the only way out. I’m really sorry.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Those words made everyone's blood run cold.
If a dark sky and the absence of the sun wasn't scary enough, knowing that your friends died and not even being there was much worse.
Wanda felt horrible nausea, feeling all that guilt, all that pain.
Especially when seeing Steve shed a tear and clutch the shield tightly to his arm, ready to fight.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Come on!” Y/N screamed desperately, noticing that the machine seemed to turn on but stopped again as if the power wasn't enough. “Now turn the damn thing on!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Can't! Is not working!” Tony became desperate too, typing rapidly on his tablet.  “Friday, help me a little, will you? Make a quick scan.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“How does it not work? You said you could do it!” Y/N growled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“IT WAS TWENTY-FOUR HOURS!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Prepare to fight.” Steve ordered but Y/N shook her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“No fighting, just stay in there!” Y/N exclaimed pointing at him, warning him that if he left his place, it would be worse. The demon turned to see Stolas. “We need to build a barrier.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Maybe I should turn myself in, and just make a deal.” Wanda mumbled, still thinking about Bucky and the others. She couldn't stop imagining so many bloody and tragic scenarios, and they were all her fault.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Like her parents. Like Pietro. Like Vision, Bruce and Bucky.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“No, Wanda, listen to me…” Y/N approached her but Wanda quickly backed away, not even wanting to look at her. Although something inside begged her to do it, to hug her, to kiss Y/N one more time. She didn't do it.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I love you, more than anything in my entire existence. You are the first person I have loved since... I was made.” Her voice broke. Y/N was confessing her love from the deepest and most real part of her being, the only good part left in the demon. “I'm really sorry for everything I did. I hope someday you can forgive me, and if you don't, my greatest wish is that you can be truly happy. So please don't give in, not just for yourself, but for everyone around you. Keep holding on.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Once she said that, Y/N turned around and summoned her sword, which held firmly in her right hand. Before the surprised gaze of the others, Y/N closed her eyes and brought lips to the blade, whispering something incomprehensible. A dark and ancient language.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
After that, she brought the blade to her palm and made a deep cut, before Wanda's surprised look.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We have to do it.”  Jules held out her hand, hoping she would cut it too.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
This one's for believing, if only for its sake Come on friends, get up now, love is to be made.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N frowned, doubtful. It was one thing for her, but it was another thing to risk someone else's life. “Are you sure? You don’t have to-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know.” Stolas sighed and nodded solemnly. “I’ll do.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N  took a deep breath before cutting their hands, making some blood drops to begin to fall around them and the machine.
Jules did the same, letting the blood fall in the same places until they met.
Once they connected, both intertwined their wounded hands and began to recite a spell that neither  could understand. It wasn't a known language, it definitely wasn't human. Even Friday couldn't figure it out. An ancient and dark and dark spell, one created long before language was made.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
What surprised most of them was seeing both of their eyes change; using glamor to hide their demonic eyes carried an energy that they had to redirect towards the barrier spell.
They stayed like that for a minute until they separated, sighing relaxedly as they saw how a barrier covered all of them. An invisible barrier to the eyes of any enemy.
A barrier impossible to break, no matter how strong you were.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Frowning, Wanda asked:  “What did you do?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What is this?” Natasha asked, a bit worried. She didn't like feeling locked in at all.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Stay inside and don't go out.”Y/N begged , somewhat agitated, that spell did more than just take their energy. Felt everything start to spin but she tried to stay strong.  “It is a powerful blood spell.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Steve approached the barrier somewhat hesitantly and tried to touch it, go through it, but it was like touching a concrete wall. Not even his shield could break it.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“If you could do that, why didn't you do it before?”  Captain America said, a bit suspiciously.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Because it's a binding spell! It ties one life to the other!” Y/N yelled, already annoyed, tired of answering so many stupid questions. She was about to die, she was giving her life so they could survive and the stupid machine wasn't working. Wasn’t that enough?  “The barrier is powerful and will protect you, as long as we survive.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Everyone looked at them in surprise, understanding what it meant. Even Tony, who stopped looking at the screen to look at Y/N.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“So you-” Wanda whispered in disbelief.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“So...if you guys die...” Kate followed those words.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“The barrier will fall. ” Y/N gulped. “We'll try to hold on as long as possible... so Stark, hurry up.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
In the face of an awkward silence, Y/N cleared her throat and turned around so they wouldn't see her that way.
They went from seeing her as a disgusting being to pitying her, and she didn't know which of the two was worse.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
However Jules pouted a little seeing them. “Don't be sad, we'll be fine. You will fix all our mistakes.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Thank you.” Yelena mumbled. Words they would never have expected, especially coming from someone like her. Yelena nodded nobly, accepting that sacrifice.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s okay. Anyway.” Y/N swallowed and nodded quickly, she didn't know how to react to that. For someone to be  kind to her. Again.  “Do not leave the protection, if you leave it will be more difficult for us and more painful. Don't interfere either. Once the spell is cast and the sacrifice accepted, there is no going back.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The flapping of wings could be heard, growing louder around them. As if a flock of crows were approaching.
Everyone looked up trying to find the reason for the sound, it became closer and more terrifying.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“They’re coming.” Y/N muttered and then looked at Stark, so terrified.  “Do not engage, just fix it and leave.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Before he could even answer, a new presence made everyone turn to look.
As stunning and beautiful as deadly, Abaddon smiled widely as she saw everyone.  A smile that made many feel a horrible chill.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I think they gave me the wrong address for the party.” The redhead said, strangely cheerful, especially when several demons began to appear behind. Her legion. “Hand over the girl and everyone will die less painfully than I want.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Willing to protect them, Y/N and Jules settled in front of them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“But I’ve to say, these traitors will suffer a horribly, harrowing, terrifying death… And you will see it.”   Abaddon said, licking her fangs in a creepy way. “So Wanda, honey, let’s go. Mommy's tired of waiting.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“She’s not going anywhere.” Y/N said sharply, with a determined look.
Of course, while she tried to distract the redhead, Stark was working quickly to fix the machine.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I’m glad we finally met.” The redhead tilted her head to look into the eyes of the witch, who looked at her with enormous hatred. “You're going to watch everyone around you right now, all your friends, die. In terrifying ways.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
But the Sokovian didn't say anything, she just stood steady, without showing any fear. Like all of her friends.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“We will bleed so much pain out of you that you will be left in deep need of therapy for millennia.” The Knight of Hell laughed, followed by everyone around her. “And the only thing you will have is us. Isn’t that sad?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Abaddon turned to look at Y/N.  “What does it feel like? Neither heaven nor hell wants you! You are not part of any. You’re nothing. You have no purpose.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ This one's for the faithless, the ones that are surprised They're only where they are now, regardless of their fight
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Slowly surrounding Y/N, Abaddon summoned her sword. It was a dark sword, which unlike Y/N's smooth and sharp blade, this one had its edge broken, like sharp teeth, to cause even more damage.
But what she wanted with those words was to cause more emotional damage, break her completely and end the Leviathan in one fell swoop.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“And you still don't see it? The one who was going to hurt her so deeply… is you.” Abaddon mocked like a maniac, celebrating the debacle of the GREAT demon.  “Not just your betrayal, the pain we need will be caused by your death… right now, in front of her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N's face suddenly paled. How had she not thought of that before?
She quickly turned to look at Wanda, hoping that really wasn't true. Y/N had always been the worst thing that happened to her, even when she didn't want to.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You are her savior and her executor.” Abaddon repeated those words she had highlighted before.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
While all the demons around her laughed cruelly, Y/N remained silent trying to deal with all those voices in her mind. How was she so blind?
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Okay, I got tired. Kill them all.” Abaddon shrugged and several demons walked towards the avengers, ready to tear them apart.
But Y/N's voice stopped them dead, especially what she had to say.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“You don't have to do this.” Y/N pointed her sword at Abaddon, there was no turning back. If she was going to leave, she would do it with honor. “I challenge you to a duel, you and me. Nobody else."
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah, I don’t care.”  The redhead was going to ignore her but Y/N appeared in front of the Knight, placing the point of Willbreaker on that pale neck. Making some demons cheer in amusement, making Abaddon feel completely like an idiot.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“I am Leviathan, my name is holy, and you will accept the duel, because I outrank you.” Y/N hissed. Clenching her jaw, you could see in those blue demonic eyes how furious she was. Abaddon couldn't refuse a duel, especially with Y/N.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Completely changing from anger to a pleased smile, Abaddon nodded and bowed. “I accept.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing and lowering her sword, Y/N made sure that only one of them left that place alive.
But what the demon didn't expect was that the demons behind would suddenly catch her, taking her sword away. A rather treacherous move, but what could she expect from a demon?
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Not understanding what it was about, or if Abaddon was not going to comply, Y/N opened her eyes wide especially because the redhead moved away from her to approach Stolas.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“But first, the vermin.”  The higher demon looked at Jules, vicious violence was reflected in those eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Let me go. This is between you and me!” Y/N growled, trying to break free, but even more demons held her down.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
… This one's for the faithless, the ones that are surprised. They're only where they are now, regardless of their fight…
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Abaddon's wicked gaze fell on Natasha, then pointed her sword at Stolas. “You know who she is, right?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“She told me everything.” Natasha clenched her jaw tightly, remembering all the things Jules said to her the last time they saw each other. All those secrets.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The brunette was extremely sincere, to the point that she endured Natasha's punches and screams when she found out who Jules was, and why kept silent about the Red Room.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Narrowing her blue eyes, doubtful that the little demon was sincere, Abaddon kept poking the bear. “Stolas was the one in charge of keeping everything running in the Red Room, so long ago. She was a great demon. Prince of Hell.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She smiled evilly, feeling the pain and spite in Natasha. And above all, the blame on Stolas.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“But I must tell you something, be honest with you even though I love to lie.” The redhead faked a love sigh and placed a hand on her chest. “But one day… she decided to throw everything away and allowed one of the Black Widows, one of the best and most ruthless agents, to escape. Can you believe it?"
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Jules looked down, sad but remembering a dark past. Having mercy had been her 'big mistake'.  She never told Nat that she helped in the 'escape'.
The Knight shook her head, disappointed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“And when she returned to hell, we torture and humiliated her for years, hundreds of years. Well, time passes differently there anyway.” Abaddon shrugged and turned to look at Jules. “Draw your sword, little bird.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
It looked like a small bird about to be eaten by a crocodile, but Stolas did not retreat. Jules swallowed, stepping back and finally summoned her sword.
It was a smaller sword than Y/N's, leaf-bladed but definitely much better than nothing. Stolas was a fallen angel, but not as important as them.
She positioned herself ready to fight, but Abaddon raised an eyebrow.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Everyone look at the prince of Hell!” The redhead mocked. “Did you think you were going to go against me? Really? She thinks she's in the big leagues.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Everyone started laughing, making the brunette feel even more nervous. She rested her gaze on Y/N, who just looked into her brown eyes, trying to encourage her.
Stolas held onto the grip of the sword, feeling her hands sweating.
But as Abaddon walked away, ready to watch the fight, some demons stepped forward holding their swords. Not just one, there were five.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Astaroth. Oriax. Sitri. Orobas… and…” Jules named them one by one, watching as they surrounded her with a wicked look. Of course she was at a disadvantage, but she wouldn't let them intimidate her.  Stolas wrinkled her nose, looking at the fifth in front of her. “I don't really know you, you must be new. You're going to be a piece of cake.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Finally she smiled a bit smugly, moving the sword in circles and waiting for one of them to take the first step. The tension increased while everyone waited for the first one to make a mistake, and luckily one of the demons ended up giving in to his internal violence, launching the first blow.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Taking advantage of this offensive movement, Stolas blocked the attack and pushed that demon towards the others. Between punches, blocks and stabs, the little demon thanked each of the lessons that Natasha taught her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
All of them watched that battle with sadness and amazement. Without realizing that they were at a key moment for the universe, feeling completely helpless as they watched every time Jules received a hit or a cut.
But even so, the brunette moved skillfully, trying to avoid being attacked by all of them. With that heart beating fast and her breathing labored, Stolas raised the sword and waited again for the attack of four of them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The demon that she 'did not know' ended up on the ground, disappearing from the face of the Earth. One down, four to go.
The blood fell down her face, the cuts in so many parts of her body made her recoil like a wounded animal. That tender, sweet look was now a deadly look, and she would die with it until she took her last breath.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
A gasping breath as she attacked again, but this time there was something different. Stolas eyes widened as she felt the edge of a sword stabbing her stomach forcefully.
Behind her, one of the demons smiled maliciously. She fell on her knees, unable to understand.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
A loud beep drowned out the screams around them, Natasha's screams, Y/N's screams trying to break free, the cheers of the demons around.
Those brown eyes filled with tears, feeling that sharp and terrifying pain in her belly. As if something began to boil inside her. An unbearable pain.
And still, she managed to get up little by little.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Leave her alone.” Y/N begged Abaddon, kneeling as those demons held her. “Don’t do this. The fight is between you and me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But Abaddon just smirked, victorious.
Especially when another of the demons stabbed Stolas from the front again, and the next as well. Finally she knelt down, trying to bear it but finally the last one of the swords pierced her body.
Y/N kept kicking and fighting trying to get free. Tears began to fall in floods down her face, feeling a deep pain in her heart. A pain that she never thought she would feel for something or someone other than Wanda.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
For someone a demon like her never thought, she would become her best friend. A great friend. A loyal friend.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
So loyal, that blood began to gush from her pink lips but she did not complain. Jules just turned to look at Y/N, smiling with that tenderness that always characterized her since they met.
The one she always complained about, saying 'you should look more serious, Stolas. You’re a demon.'
And now, she would never see again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
… This is for the ones who stand...
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“It’s okay.” Jules whispered, her gaze on Y/N, one last time. Trying to give her peace, knowing that she would leave as a 'hero'.
Suddenly, Abaddon’s sword pierced Stolas chest from behind, stealing the last sigh from her.
Her brown eyes flashed for a moment before burning, as Y/N screamed in despair.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Really terrifying screams, full of pain, like a wounded and angry beast. A sound that would haunt everyone for eternity.  A sound as if a beast was wounded, like a powerful storm in the ocean.
She would destroy everything in her way.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The first layer of protection that surrounded the Avengers faded with the loss of Stolas. That terrified Tony, who kept trying to solve the issue and kept talking to Friday. Repeating the process again, unsuccessfully.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The ashes in the air made her explode, pushing the demons with such force that it surprised them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
"Y/N...." Wanda tried to get her attention, approaching the barrier but the demon didn't hear her. She was furious, completely blind.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
"Y/N, don't do it. That's what she wants." Natasha said, approaching too but none of them were lucky.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Finally!” Abaddon exclaimed excitedly, swinging her sword.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Do what you have to do and get out!” Y/N yelled at Tony, clenching the handle of her sword tightly before delivering the first swing.
She was tired of being patient and playing the war in the smartest way.
Every furious step approaching Abaddon was every blow she swung with her sword.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The anger that Y/N managed only made the redhead laugh happily, knowing that she got what she wanted, hurting Y/N deeply. Therefore, her death would be even more delicious.
The sharp blades of their swords meeting again and again made Tony feel even more anxious and terrified. The pressure not only of the moment but of his friends, who were waiting.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N moved with surprising agility, hitting hard but also evading delicately, as if it were a dance.
She looked so confident, so strong, that Wanda even felt a bit proud, although she would never admit it.
Strange that Abaddon didn’t attack with all her power, and had a very good reason.
Because when Y/N finally slashed her cheek, the redhead unleashed all the fury of the angel of the abyss.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay, enough games.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
With blinding fury, like hellfire, Abaddon advanced striking so hard that Y/N feared her sword would break. Amazed by the redhead's brute strength, she frowned when, with one blow, Abaddon sent her stumbling back.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N frowned.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Surprised?” Abaddon teased.  “You are not the only one with help. I thought you were going to use your wings.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Approaching quickly, Abaddon launched a blow making her fall.
Y/N held the swing of the sword with her own, kneeling, using the strength of her legs but the force the redhead exerted began to make her give way.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You’re just weak.” Abaddon said through clenched teeth, seeing the demon on the ground, she struck again but Y/N moved quickly, evading it. “Like her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The Knight hit hard again but only found dust, Y/N stood up nimbly, moving away but always staying alert.
One of the demons was going to attack her from behind, like Jules, but the redhead quickly made it fall back, raising a hand. “She’s mine!” Yelled angrily, and looked at the Leviathan again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Time after time, Abaddon took the lead and hit her hard. Not only with the sword, but also with punches and kicks. Both hitting the ground, crashing into rocks.
Time passed and they both fought fiercely, but unfortunately the redhead had the upper hand, with just a few cuts and blows. While Y/N, she was much worse.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Abaddon's last sword blow cut her stomach and her left eye, crossing her face, losing the eye forever.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Give up, it’s over. She’s ours.” The Knight of Hell boastfully exclaimed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She had never seen Y/N like that, defeated and tired. And she loved it.
Y/N coughed up more blood than she expected.
The pain in her stomach and back let her know that she had two large cuts, so deep that blood began to fall like rivers. “As long as I’m breathing… it’s not over.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Leviathan was so hard and stubborn, like waves hitting the rock. Time and time again, she would come back.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Why do you fight for them? They are no better than us, look at them…”  Abaddon pointed to her friends, whom Y/N considered her family for all that time. To whom she would have sold without thinking long ago, and she now was giving her life to protect them. For Wanda, the woman she loved; feeling love for the first time in her life, caring about something other than herself.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“They’re terrified, hiding while a ‘demon’ fights for them.”  The blue-eyed demon glanced at them out of the corner of her eye. “Why fight for them? They are parasites.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Taking a deep breath, getting as much air as she could, tried to stay alive.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Sometimes I tend to wonder why…  Why I try?” But Y/N chuckled sadly, shaking her head as she tried to catch her breath.  “Because I have been around them all my life, watching these vermin benefit, feed, and destroy everything in their path. They are parasites.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Finally the demon got up with some difficulty, Y/N spit blood to the side.
Everything hurt, inside and outside.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I’ve seen what they're capable of… I just realized how fucked up they are! Just wandering around through life until they die! Which they know is coming, and yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them! They came to Hell saying 'oh no! What did I do?! 'How could I have died?!” Y/N laughed, feeling the pain in her body. Thinking how crazy that all sounded and how strange they could be.
Slowly, she limped closer. and watched them one by one. Knowing their deepest desires, their darkest sins.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“They only think of satisfying their own desires, those two you see there?” She pointed at Tony and Steve. “They were about to beat each other so many times… Tony Stark sold weapons! That they destroyed Wanda's home! Remember? Humans kill each other, which is CLEARLY insane…” Y/N sighed as she saw Wanda,  and then turned to face Abaddon again. “But here’s the thing… When it's something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they're lame morons for fighting sometimes…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Abaddon tilted her head, trying to understand. To her it was just incoherent babbling.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“But they do. They never, never quit…” Y/N held her sword again. “So I guess I will keep fighting for them too.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The redhead did the same. It was glorious to be able to end someone who wanted to destroy her entire existence, envied since she was made but  also had respect for Leviathan. “It's your death.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Honey, it has been for quite some time. You just don't know.” Y/N smiled mockingly and began to surround her as if she were a wild animal, taking a more alert and less defensive position.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Despite the pain going through different parts of her body, Y/N moved the sword in circles, waiting for the attack.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
…For the ones who try again…
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
And when the redhead attacked, Y/N used the opponent's strength to cut her body and make her stumble. A deep cut across her thigh, making Abaddon limp.
Natasha's voice reminding her of that move over and over again in their training reached her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Turning to look at her with murderous fury, Abaddon attacked again but Y/N knew how to defend herself until the Knight used the strength of those invisible wings, hitting her chest so hard and making Y/N fall and slide into the protective barrier.
Worried, everyone watched as the demon stirred in pain. The only one who could get past the protection was Y/N, and if Abaddon realized the spell, she would do her best to destroy it.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Don't… move. Their eyes are on me, just... leave. Soon.” Y/N mumbled in pain, still on the ground, trying to catch air like a fish out of water. The demons' laughter made Y/N  close her eyes for a moment, trying to gather the strength to keep going.  She couldn't stop there.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She had to give them time, she had to help them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N opened her eyes when she felt a presence next to her, a soft hand taking hers, to help her up. Kate Bishop gave her a small smile as Y/N placed the arm around her shoulder for support. Yelena quickly approached to help too.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Thank you.” The demon muttered barely due to the swelling from the cut on her face, slowly walking with them towards the barrier.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Kate? I have to be honest with you.” She whispered, swallowing hard. “When I met you… I thought you were a fool, like a weak point and desperate for a friend.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Those words made Y/N shed a tear. Ashamed of herself. “I was never so wrong in my entire existence… because you are my best friend. You are a good person, you have a big heart… so please, never lose it. I was the fool, but lucky to have you all.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I do believe that you can change.” Kate dared to say,  those blue eyes so red from crying. The archer was the first brave one to step forward to help her, without expecting anything else. “I don't care that you are a demon, you both were my best friends. I'm sorry I was so afraid of you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
… For the ones who need a hand…
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Thank you.” Kate said as well and hugged Y/N for a moment, surprising the demon who simply nodded barely.
Knowing that it was a noble sacrifice, despite being a completely dark creature.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Natasha tried to dry her tears and just smiled sadly, each one thanked her in her own way. Even with the silence.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I think this time is going to work. Friday is turning on the machine...” Tony assured, somewhat sadly. “Do you think you can last five minutes?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Five minutes?" Y/N took a deep breath. “Piece of cake.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But as soon as she was going to leave, Y/N felt arms around her body. A strong, needed hug, a hug that she had waited her entire life for. The demon closed her eyes, trying not to keep crying.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Please don't leave me here.” Wanda begged, hiding her face in her lover's chest. Nothing mattered anymore, not the resentment, not the past, not the pain. The pain in her voice,  Wanda’s crying broke Y/N's heart.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“We can handle them, I- can handle them. Just don't leave, detka. Please.” The Sokovian tried, raising her gaze to fix her gaze on who she knew and considered to be the love of her life.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Smiling with deep anguish, Y/N gulped. “I have to.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The Sokovian's sadness, the pain just made the demons around her, along with Abaddon, laugh like hyenas. Rejoicing in the brunette's pain because they knew it was all they needed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I don’t want you to die.” Wanda sobbed, caressing her face slowly, feeling deep pain when she saw the wound. “I’m sorry.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
And finally, a small and sincere smile, a small light of happiness, returned to those lips.
That was the best ending in the world, how could she not leave being loved by the most wonderful woman in existence?
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She would leave like a champion. Like a champion of good.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I love you.” She kissed Wanda’s forehead and closed her eyes as a small tear escaped down her bloody cheek. The demon couldn't wait any longer, even if that kiss lasted forever.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Slowly, her fingers slid away from hers. Although everything in her being, her mind, her heart, begged to stay… she knew it was best.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You can do this.” The Sokovian said one more time, encouraging her once again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Turning to look at her and picking up the sword from the ground, Y/N nodded solemnly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
… For the ones who think they can.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Of course she will do it. For her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“How long again, Stark?” Y/N growled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“The process will begin in five minutes…” Friday warned, making Abaddon narrow her eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
And without further ado, Y/N returned to attack Abaddon with enormous force. Despite the pain, despite the injuries, despite the death of a friend. She had love, and it was something much stronger than any evil in the world.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Three minutes!” Tony yelled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N swung her sword and struck so fiercely that the redhead had no choice but to back away.
Surprised, Abaddon's eyes widened as Y/N kicked her stomach and sliced part of the white long neck.
Blood began to fall, leaving the Knight with no choice but to attack again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But knowing those movements, and knowing that Abaddon knew nothing but rage, Y/N turned avoiding her in a spectacular move and dodged the blow, stabbing Abaddon in the chest.
A masterstroke, even making Natasha proud.
Smiling the same way Abaddon did when she killed Stolas, Y/N stabbed the sword even deeper until she was close to her face and looked into those malignant eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I was always superior to you, I just didn't want to settle for little... like you.” y/n whispered before violently removing the sword. The wound in her redhead's chest began to burn until she consumed it in a gasp of pain.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Breathing deeply and trying to stand, Y/N changed her eyes and watched the demons around her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Abaddon is gone. I am superior now, and I order you not to attack. Anyone who does something I don't like will burn like she did.” Y/N growled at them, looking at them with a murderous look.
The demons simply took a step back and lowered their heads, accepting the orders.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Does this mean we don't have to leave?” Natasha asked, frowning.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They were about to leave the barrier when Y/N opened her eyes wide and raised her hand, stopping them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Wait.” Y/N whispered.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She knew that presence, one Y/N hadn't seen for a long time but knew was around.
After a few seconds, a flutter of wings was heard and all the demons quickly moved away, making room for her to pass.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Slowly, that being walked towards Y/N with a unique elegance. Her curly brunette hair danced with every step she took, the armor shining like a sunny day.  She was a great fighter; the long sword, bearer of truth.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I see you've gotten what you wanted.” Raphael said as she watched Abaddon’s ashes disappear.  “Well done! I'm here to make sure you keep your deal.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Y/N?” Tony frowned as Friday reminded him that the process was done, they were only one button away from leaving. “Is this about the deal?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What deal?” Wanda frowned.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Lower beings should not interfere when adults speak.” Raphael watched Tony as if she were a bird of prey about to pounce on him. And Tony was about to answer, when Y/N intervened.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Wait.” The demon quickly said, expectant of the archangel Raphael's movements. “The deal is that she will be protected and safe. For her to be with her friends, I don't want her to-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hold on.” Raphael turned to look at her, letting out an incredulous chuckle. Those blue eyes made her shiver. “That wasn't in the deal. I told you we would take care of her, and that's because I'm here to take her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Not being able to believe what she was hearing, Y/N looked down somewhat thoughtfully.  “Take her where?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“We’ll keep an eye on the girl in Heaven, we can't let 'The Scarlet Witch' just wander around there like it's nothing.” Raphael rolled her eyes, walking around to see Wanda more closely, as if it were a 'thing'.  “It is a very powerful weapon. And now its ours.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Y/N? What is she talking about?” Wanda looked at Y/N, who was still somewhat pensive.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I don't care who you are. You're not taking her anywhere she doesn't want.” Steve stepped forward, holding his shield ready to defend the girl. Like everyone else, they took their place in front of Wanda.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“The process has been completed.” Friday repeated.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Y/N?” Tony asked again, hoping for a quick answer. The screen warned over and over again that everything was ready.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The tension increased again, no one knew what to do or how to react.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You know the place, right?” Y/N looked up and met Stark's eyes, who nodded knowing perfectly well what she meant. For a moment everyone believed that the problems had been solved, but apparently they had gotten worse.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Stark, don’t.” Wanda took a step forward, ready to leave the protection.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Now!” Y/N screamed and swung at the archangel, diverting her attention so they could escape.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
With a simple twist, so elegant and smooth, Raphael deflected Y/N's attack and stabbed the celestial sword into the demon's chest.
Opening her eyes wide, Y/N met Raphael's blue gaze and then fell to her knees.
A simple cut was already deadly, a stab to the heart of that shiny blade was eternal ruin.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But nothing was as terrifying as Wanda's cry of pain, seeing the woman she loved dying, slowly fading away. A scream so powerful, that a scarlet witch energy escaped from her fingers with such force that it pushed Raphael and all the demons around her so hard.
The strength of that power made the archangel open her eyes big, terrified.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda couldn't stop crying, fighting with everyone to escape from their arms and go to her. With her last efforts, Y/N threw her sword into the protection so Natasha took it, holding it with some fear.
Giving one last look to Wanda, Y/N smiled slightly before disappearing into the ashes.
Without waiting another second, Tony pressed the button and all the suits activated, and they disappeared in a matter of seconds.
Leaving them behind.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
… And this part was for her, and this part was for her. This part was for her, does she remember?

Valentine's day fluffy facts about ROs? Pretty please? 🥺
Happy Valentine's! ....a little late. I'm not sure what constitutes a fluffy fact but I tried to think of some lighter things about the characters that I haven't shared already <3 So here's one general detail + one specific way that they care for the rest of the team.
Adelaide — Has a surprising love for teasing people (maybe less surprisingly when you consider that Camille is her best friend) / Is constantly checking in with people, assessing their feelings regarding outcomes and situations. She takes the time to ask people what they're thinking and does take opinions seriously. She's the one that keeps track of birthdays and plans parties and etc. Mars — Sings/hums to himself in quiet moments / Though a talented cook and baker in his own right, Mars recognizes that Sidney finds a lot of fulfillment in being able to cook and so he takes a secondary role in the kitchen, happily assisting Sid. Mars also prefers more elaborate, labor extensive meals and so will bust out a very lovingly made baked good for special occasions. And yes, of course, there's always fresh bread with Mars around. Camille — Calls Mars "Marzipan" / Every night, she goes through the effort of setting coffee (& hot water for tea) to brew automatically in the morning, making sure it's there for the first person who wakes up (which is usually Mars); she claims this is for herself but she doesn't drink coffee nor does she need that much hot water. + SUPER FUN EXTRA DETAIL: Shares a sweet tooth with Adelaide, they used to sneak extra sweet rolls together. Though Adelaide has largely grown out of needing to have sugar with everything, Camille most certainly has not. She also extra spices her dishes. Sid — The dedicated cook, Sid makes sure no one goes hungry. He takes the labor of cooking a fresh meal everyday, specializing in working in big portions. Sidney tries to slowly work out of you what your favorite type of food is, depending on how much time you spend with him, and he will cook it for you! Faith — Has an individual nickname for everyone / Makes sure everyone takes a moment to relax; Faith can be seen in strange pairings, giving everyone a moment to unwind with her. Yoon — The first person who notices your MC's feelings towards their chosen romance (unless you're romancing him, in which case, HAHAHAAHA) / Yoon always takes the second last shift of the watch (the one that involves disrupting sleep), recognizing that it is the least favorable one, though he claims he needs the extra time to "pretty up".

A Toast to the Roman - Last Binding Series - Oneshot
Ao3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/56529883
Summary: “Mr Ross.” Shit, Robin’s Baronet tone was out – that was how Alan knew he was in trouble. “Did you sell pornography to my sister on an ocean liner?”
“In my defence—” He used his best, most clipped voice. “Your sister bullied me into selling her all the pornography I was carrying. And, if I didn’t sell it to her, I believe the fair lady would have stolen it.”
(In which, Robin discovers Alan sold Maud his porn stash, everyone discovers the identity of the Roman and Alan discovers he's responsible for helping start all of their relationships.)
Word Count: 3,473
A Toast to the Roman
It happened on a lazy Sunday afternoon. A lazy Sunday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend. Naturally, the bank holiday meant Maud had been invited back to the Blyth estate from University – and where Maud Blyth went, Violet Debenham followed. Then, because Robin was Robin, he extended the invitation to Lord Hawthorn, to, “make it something of a party.”
And, where Lord Hawthorn went, Alan Ross seemed to follow.
“That had been my idea – a friendly party,” Robin had said, when they’d arrived. He wore that bright, Baronet smile that was impossible to resist. “A reunion, of the Final Contract Crew.”
Alan smiled back, blankly. “The what?”
“Ignore him,” Edwin appeared from further down the hallway, his arms full of books. “I’ve told him, we’re not calling ourselves that.”
“We need a team name,” Robin said. “Don’t you think?”
Alan weighed that up – figuring out who else would be solidly against the idea of a team name, who would be for it, and which side would be for fun to be with – when Jack said, “This isn’t Oxford, Blyth.”
Robin only laughed. He stepped aside, and welcomed them properly into his house. Alan was starting to feel more and more at ease on these estates, and he didn’t know how to feel about that. Certainly didn’t like becoming accustomed to houses with their own grounds; changing for dinner; days without any plans to do real work. At least he still felt the same zeal to radicalise the staff. At least he would never tire of the way Jack looked at him when Alan did have the clothes to change to dinner: as though he wanted to rip them straight back off and kiss him completely senseless. It was the company – not just Jack, but all of them – that made Alan begrudgingly alright with the whole business. Because they were closer to him than simply friends now. It was like having a second family.
And it was a nice weekend – a good weekend – until Robin leant forward to move a pile of books from the coffee table in the lounge to make room for the chess set, and a purple pamphlet fell out.
There seemed, to Alan, a moment where time stopped, as everyone recognised it. (Purple, Alan thought almost hysterically, was not a very discreet colour.) They’d all been half-asleep in the sunshine drifting through the windows, lounging around, totally full of roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Now, though, they were all awake. He took stock. Adelaide was (mercifully) in the garden. Maud sat in front of the armchair, legs folded under her, with an expression so carefully clueless it looped right round to guilty. Violet actually sat in the armchair, playing with Maud’s hair, an eyebrow raised and a slight smirk on her face. Entertained.
Both Edwin and Robin were sat on the sofa opposite Alan. Well, Robin was leant over, looking at the pamphlet as though it was a dog who’d slipped the leash and he was trying to catch it solely with his mind. Whilst Edwin was reclining, an elbow on the sofa, his fingers against his temples. He looked faintly sick.
Alan and Jack were on the other sofa. Not close – not practically on top of each other, the way Edwin and Robin always sat. Jack was a respectable distance away, though his arm was over the back of the sofa. If he twitched his hand, he could just graze the back of Alan’s neck – which he deliberately did now. His bad leg was outstretched, his cane against the end of the sofa. He looked impressively uncaring, but there was just a – quirk – to his mouth that showed his amusement.
Alan himself sat on the edge of the sofa, primed like a terrier, and he was desperately trying to school his expression into normalcy. He suspected he was succeeding as well as Maud. He felt nauseous. It was one thing to know that a lot of men had read his pamphlets; it was another thing entirely to come face to face with them – especially when he was good friends with them. Especially when he’d fought alongside them to save England’s magicians – England – the world?
“Ah,” Robin said. “That’s Win’s.”
Edwin’s usually colourless face flushed with pink. “Robin!”
“What?” Robin smiled, easily, and picked up the pamphlet. He still twisted it, to hide the title. “No one knows what it is.”
“Okay,” Alan said. He couldn’t help it. “Even if we all didn’t know what it is, that would only make us more suspicious.”
Jack’s pointer finger traced his neck, and he determinedly did not look at him. No doubt the bastard was smug and smirking. He hated him when he was like that.
“It truly is the guiltiest thing you could’ve said, Robin,” Violet added.
“In that case—” Edwin cleared his throat. “For the record, it’s not just mine.”
“Wait, no.” Now Robin stood, the books discarded, holding Alan’s fucking pornography aloft in one hand. “I can understand Hawthorn and Alan knowing about the Roman. I can even understand Violet. But I would like Maud to explain how she knows.”
Maud ducked her chin, smiling. It was the kind of smile that Alan suspected got her out of a lot of trouble growing up, and he could already see Robin start to relent.
“I happened to stumble upon his works, aboard the Lyric,” she said.
“How?” Robin pressed.
Maud, bless her, probably tried not to. But she couldn’t stop those bright green eyes from flicking to Alan. She might as well have pointed her finger and shouted.
Alan, knowing it was a show of guilt, still looked down. The back of his neck prickled, expecting a nudge from Jack. He didn’t, this time, not with Robin staring him down. It was not so much that their relationship was a secret, but they both seemed repelled by physical affection when other people were in the room. (Apart, of course, from longing looks and ‘accidental touches.’ Perhaps that was part of it.)
“Mr Ross.” Shit, Robin’s Baronet tone was out – that was how Alan knew he was in trouble. “Did you sell pornography to my sister on an ocean liner?”
Violet burst out laughing; Maud giggled; even Edwin hid a smirk behind his hand. Jack though, Jack watched Alan with those piercing blue eyes. He had one eyebrow ever so slightly raised, like a challenge.
Alan, though, wondered if it was a good time to bring up the fact that he’d betrayed them all to Edwin’s evil older brother, and made the whole Last Contract business a hell of a lot harder. Surely that would be a good distraction from selling a Baronet’s sister porn.
“In my defence—” He used his best, most clipped voice. “Your sister bullied me into selling her all the pornography I was carrying. And, if I didn’t sell it to her, I believe the fair lady would have stolen it.”
Maud cried, “That’s slanderous, Mr Ross!”
Robin, though, rolled his eyes, as though he wasn’t truly angry. “Maudie. You can’t bully people into selling you things.”
“In my defence—” Maud sat up, even straighter, her dark hair falling out of Violet’s grasp. It fell around her shoulders in a soft wave. “It made for the most amusing evening we had on that ship.”
“Oh, that’s very true,” Violet added, nudging Maud’s shoulder with her knee. Her smile was dazzling. “Who knew Lord Hawthorn would make such a good character in a Roman pamphlet?”
Robin’s eyebrows rose in interest, looking over them all. Even Edwin looked intrigued. They were both, no doubt, using their imagination, given their familiarity with the Roman’s work. Alan was regretting eating so many roasted parsnips, because they were surely going to be making a second appearance.  Even that would be preferable to them guessing at the intricacies of their relationship.
It didn’t help, of course, that Jack looked so calm about it all – so uncaring – so fucking smug, when he said, “Indeed.”
Alan wanted to bite him, like a cobra. Unfortunately, thinking about biting Jack; about pouncing on his neck and sinking his teeth in; also sent a sting of pleasure through him. Because, hell, when they were alone these days, they alternated between playing out the Roman’s greatest hits and coming up with the inspiration for the next one. Because hadn’t Jack been folded into each of those stories anyway? What was the point of pretending otherwise?
Robin, at least, seemed at a loss. He nodded. Took a breath. Tried, Alan thought, to still be the indulgent, carefree older brother he always was. He twisted the pamphlet in his hand, hitting it in his other palm. Eventually, he sat back down on the sofa. Edwin’s knee nudged his own, in support.
“Alright,” he said. “I’m not happy about it, but alright. That does explain my question. Thank you.”
Edwin rested his cheek on his knuckles, looking Alan over as though he wanted to study him. He decidedly did not like being the centre of attention in this way – it was even worse than being dressed in fine clothes and trotted out to dinner.
“I’m sorry, Robin,” he murmured, and tried to look suitably embarrassed. Really, his mind was thinking back to that night on the ship. Was placing bull horns on the sides of Jack Alston’s head. Would there be any way to convince him to play that part properly, one day? To hear him rumble ‘Cesare,’ in his ear, when he caught hold of him? When he lifted him bodily, as though he weighed nothing and had Alan completely at his mercy.
He had to shift, on the sofa.
Jack. Whose eyebrow raised a step further. Alan narrowed his eyes in reply.
“Allow me,” Jack said, in that low murmur. It was as much of a ‘please,’ as he could ever give. It was the fact that he asked at all, which cut through Alan’s core. The asshole wouldn’t give Alan’s secret away without his permission. Now that he thought about it, he did want to see their reaction.
He nodded.
“What?” Edwin asked, his tongue sharp and his eyes sharper.
Jack, bastard that he was, drew the moment out. Settled himself even further into the sofa, adjusting his leg again, and tilting his chin ever so slightly up in that lordly fashion.
“Books are best read by their authors,” Jack said. He pinched the back of Alan’s neck. Just enough to sting. He had to bite his tongue to stop from laughing. His cheeks bloomed with heat.
There was another moment. A long moment. Edwin looked faintly sick again, his face colourless, his eyes flicking from Alan to Jack. Robin had stopped moving entirely, a half-smile frozen on his face, as though he was expecting them to say it was all a joke. Maud, though, had her hands pressed to her mouth, and looked ecstatic. Violet had hold of Maud’s tresses again, and looked suitably impressed. It was as though Alan writing pornography earnt him more respect, in her eyes, than saving them all from crazy magicians.
Jack, though, Jack looked smug. His hand had stayed just against the back of Alan’s neck. It felt like a claim. Like he’d decided to undress Alan in front of the whole room, and, just like when Jack actually undressed him, it filled him with equal parts embarrassment and excitement. Because everyone in this room was somewhat acquainted with the Roman, and they knew what that implied. Weren’t just placing them both in one of those pamphlets, but confirming it for a fact.
It should bother him more, that he’d exposed not only his own writing, but his own tastes. But, Maud had let slip too many details about her own love life to Alan – and Jack commiserated his pain from Violet’s chats – and from Robin and Edwin determinedly not looking at each other, he guessed they all had their own tastes. That, at least, meant none of them were alone.
“You don’t mean—” Robin started.
“You?” Edwin asked.
Alan grinned. He couldn’t help it. He opened his hands, his fingers splayed. It was different to admit it when he wasn’t teasing Jack Alston. (When he wasn’t trying to fuck Jack Alston.) It gave him a slight thrill, though, to have this knowledge over everyone. To know that even men like Robin, magicians like Edwin, read his work. And liked it.
From behind Maud’s hands came a delighted giggle. Her eyes shone like jewels. Alan looked at her. He couldn’t help it. He flicked his eyelid in a wink. She giggled more, ducking her chin.
Robin rubbed a hand over his face, laughing soundlessly, still seeming dazed. “But you’re—”
“Older than I look.” Alan leant back, into Jack’s hand. Felt his finger press against the bone of his neck. It sent warmth rushing down his back.
“It’s remarkable, isn’t it?” Jack said. Smug, and, if Alan wasn’t losing his mind, a little proud too. Jack Alston was proud of him. It shouldn’t make him feel like a dog with a bone.
Robin thumped back against the sofa. He still held the pamphlet, and he let it uncurl. Alan got a glimpse at the title; it was the latest. He was still a subscriber, then.
“Damn,” he said. His dark eyes roved over Alan again, and he felt his heart squirm. It was unfair how attractive Robin Blyth was. Doubly unfair that he was much too nice to be in any of Alan’s pamphlets. “You’re a skilled writer, Alan.”
Violet snorted. She finished tying off Maud’s plait. “Please – are you going to wax lyrical about his descriptive writing?”
“Well, it is descriptive.”
Edwin took a folded wooden chess set from the table, and tapped Robin’s leg with it in rebuke. Alan bit his tongue harder, a chill running down his spine by the fact that Jack’s hand was still on his collar.
“It might interest you to know, then,” Edwin said, casually, with just a single sly look at Alan. “That the Roman’s writings played somewhat of a role in Robin and I starting our relationship.”
He said it like a poker player placing a winning hand. It certainly felt like that. For a moment, Alan couldn’t breathe.
He supposed it made sense. After all, they’d all recognised the purple pamphlet here, didn’t they? It was a discreet way of asking if someone else was of a similar persuasion, and he was sure it happened a lot. But, still—
“Is there anyone here who is not in a relationship because of my bloody pornography?” he asked.
“That’s a fine discussion to be having.”
Saints alive, it was Adelaide. Back from the garden, and peering into the lounge. Alan wanted to shrivel up like a raisin on the spot, and never be heard from again, especially with the way she was looking at them all. Thank God for the Blyths, and their infectious laughter. It dissolved most of the awkwardness in the room.
Adelaide looked at them all. She shook her head, and said, deliberately, “I will be reading in my room, if anyone needs me.”
“I’m sorry you had to overhear that,” Robin spoke for the group.
She shook her head again, and disappeared. It left them all looking at each other like guilty children. At least Adelaide’s appearance had knocked some of the smug from Jack’s expression. Alan sat back a little, on the sofa, and felt another possessive graze of touch on the back of his neck. It had answered his question. At least Robin finally had the sense to put the pamphlet back between the books, and pile them up underneath the table, and Edwin had busied himself in setting up the chess board. As Alan watched him, he couldn’t help but wonder – just which of Edwin’s copies of his work were the most well-thumbed? Did he and Robin play them out, too?
Edwin glanced up at him. Alan looked away. He definitely shouldn’t let his mind wander there.
Evidently, it was playing on Violet’s mind too, because she said, “I, for one, am very glad we can all share these details about our sex lives.”
Alan winced; he saw Edwin shake his head, determinedly, where Robin outright groaned.
“No, thank you,” he said.
“Oh, don’t be such a bore,” Maud said, tugging her new plait over her shoulder.
“Maudie.” Robin looked at her.
Maud got his meaning. She wrinkled her noise. “Oh no, you’re right. Let’s not.”
“That’s hardly fair, when I have to listen to Miss Debenham regale me with her stories,” Jack said. He had that fake disgruntled tone, which showed he wasn’t actually cross.
“That’s what friends do, Lord Hawthorn.” Violet ruined her air of manners and dignity by sticking her tongue out.
Alan laughed. He couldn’t help it. The sick feeling had given way to heady one; he’d been met with acceptance; with almost too much eagerness. But it was a secret they were all in together – just like magic, Alan supposed. That was why he felt so giddy. It was so ridiculous. It was ridiculous that he was able to have this conversation at all.
Ridiculous, and yet – it was a secret he could never share with his family. A secret that he was oddly glad to share with this family. His other family. It made him feel confident – powerful – like he’d earnt his place here.
He didn’t want to read too much into what that meant.
“I certainly will be reading the Roman in a new light.” Edwin finished setting up the board. He made the first move, with white, and rested his elbows on his knees as he waited for an opponent.
It definitely wasn’t going to be Alan. The more he played of chess, the less he liked it. He resolutely sat back, trying not to look too much like a cat with the cream. He was giddy, now; giddier from Jack’s proud look and smug smirk. Jack was proud that he’d landed the Roman.
It was Jack who made the move against Edwin. They looked at each other, and Alan suspected it would be a tense match. He nudged Jack’s elbow with his own, when he moved forward. He got a glimmer of those blue eyes on him.
“I know I certainly will be.” That was Maud, also looking far too smug – far too happy about who she could imagine in those pamphlets, now.
“You shouldn’t be reading them at all,” Robin replied – as though he was the epitome of innocence.
“I’m a grown woman, Robin.”
The two glared at each other. Silently, Edwin leant forward to move another chess piece. Jack followed suit. They’d exchanged three moves each by the time Robin stood, clapping his hands on his knees as though that concluded the conversation. (Which meant he’d lost the argument to his sister, Alan noticed.)
“I do have questions, though,” Robin continued. He was heading to the cabinet, and thank fuck for that, because that was where the liquor was kept. Alan felt like a drink. He eyed the sparkling glasses, because it was the only safe thing to keep his eyes on.
“I will not be answering any questions about practicality,” Alan said.
Violet laughed again. Jack made a move that clearly lost him his bishop.
Robin was pouring drinks on the sideboard. His cheeks were actually a faint pink, as though he was embarrassed.
“That wasn’t…” He seemed to be pretending to be more occupied in getting each shot of brandy even. “I rather meant about – where your ideas originate.”
“No,” Alan said. “Not today. Certainly not whilst I’m sober enough to remember. Tihank you.”
Which, at least, got a chuckle out of Jack. Alan kicked his good ankle, and was pleased to see that he left a shoe mark on his Lordship’s trousers. He would not even look at Edwin – still soundly winning against Jack – because he was sure there would be some knowing there.
Robin looked suitably cowed and apologetic (for the time being), as he handed out the glasses. They really were fine things; crystal-clear glass with patterns cuts into them; the likes of which the Rossi family would likely never own.
He really did live in two worlds.
“Can we have a toast though?” Robin asked. Asked Alan, and actually waited for him to nod, cheeks still hot. He was rewarded with another of those bright, Blyth smiles. “Well then, a toast to the Roman – for how his…descriptive literature brought us all together.”
Brought them all together, indeed, Alan thought, as they raised their glasses in unison. The brandy glowed golden in the sunlight coming through the windows. It was warm, kicking Alan’s throat on the way down.
But he was smiling.
And that, he thought, was pretty fantastic.

Pairing: Tobias Carrick x F!OC (Adelaide Barnes)
Rating: General
Word Count: 750
Summary: Tobias has had a long day and gets a phone call he wish he didn't get.
A/N: For Tobias Carrick Appreciation Week (as the bonus entry).
A/N 2: I saw this at 1 am this morning and immediately went "Ahehhehhee" and started writing, if that helps.
Tobias was having a rough day at work, dealing with patients who thought they knew better than him, admin giving him a hard time, etc. He was just ready to head home for dinner and a drink, or a few.
When he got to his office, he had probably been in there for less than five minutes before his phone rang.
“Dr. Carrick’s office.” The other side didn’t answer. “Hello?” No answer again and he hangs up the phone. A minute later, the phone rings again from the same number and he answers. “...Hello?”.
“Hey sorry about that, I was trying to speak but I guess you couldn’t hear me.” The voice said. “My dad told me not to call you but I felt the need to.”
Tobias furrows his brow. “O…k. Who are you? And what is it?” The line is silent for a second, “I was digging through some of my dad’s old storage bins and found some documents of a biological kid of his named Tobias Carrick. Oh, and my name is Jason Carrick.”
Tobias freezes in place. Out of all the things that happened today, this takes the top spot. Jason keeps saying “Hello” to no answer. Eventually Tobias unfreezes and slams the phone down. He then lowers his head and brushes his short hair back and forth. He is lost in thought enough to not hear a knock on his door and the door opening.
“Dr. Carrick?” He looks up to see Adelaide. She stands in the doorway, debating if she should keep a straight face or try a fake smile. “Dr. Bira told me to deliver these files to you.” Adelaide walks over to his desk.
Tobias sighs and takes the files from Adelaide and starts going through them. “You know, it’s best to knock before entering a private space.” Adelaide lowers her gaze at him, “I did.” Tobias looks up at her briefly before turning his attention back to the files. “Oh, I guess I didn’t notice.”
“Clearly. You had your head down.” Tobias continues reading through the files and Adelaide sits in the chair across from him. “You don’t look so good. Are you okay, Dr Carick?”
Tobias sighs and sets down the files, knowing that he won’t be left alone if he doesn’t give her a satisfactory answer. “I’m fine. Frankly, it’s not your business to be worrying about me. Now if you’ll excuse me.” He picks the files back up and continues reading them.
Adelaide then tightly closes her mouth and leaves his office.  About an hour later, Tobias leaves his office to go home and Adelaide goes on a break.
The next day, Tobias heads to his office when he sees an envelope on his door. He takes the envelope and brings it with him into his office. Tobias sets his things down and opens the envelope to a bright card saying sorry on the front.
On the inside it says, “I’m sorry if I pushed any buttons yesterday Dr. Carrick. From Adelaide Barnes.” He then sees the gift card to the coffee shop across the street from Mass Kenmore.
Tobias walks out of his office and starts quickly walking around the building, he knows that Adelaide should be wrapping up her shift soon and will be heading home. He ends up spotting her at the nurses desk two minutes before her shift ends.
“Hey, I need to speak to Dr. Barnes for a minute.” He pulls Adelaide aside. “Listen, you didn’t need to apologize. I had a rough day yesterday and I’m sorry if I made it seem like I was mad at you.”
“Well thank you, but I do feel like I pushed you for information that I don’t need to know.” Tobias blinks slowly. “No. No you didn’t. You asked me a simple question and I took my frustration and anger out on you.” He then hands her the gift card. “While it’s nice, I think you may need it more than I do. In fact, I’ll buy you a coffee the next time we have the same shift.”
Adelaide smiles. “I’d like that. Thank you Dr. Carrick.” Adelaide hugs him, catching Tobias by surprise. He then hugs her back. “You’re welcome Dr. Barnes.”
Adelaide walks away to grab her things and Tobias heads back to his office. He sits in his chair, contemplating for a few seconds before dialing a number. “Hey Jason, It’s Dr. Carr- Tobias Carrick. You were asking about your dad’s past?”

Taking Comfort (In Your Arms) - Chapter 1
May 14, 1943
Adelaide Baker knew it was going to be a good day, maybe even a great day as she climbed the steps to Clearup Tower. The sun was actually shining out in merry ole England today and she was actually in a good mood. Her hair was actually cooperating with her today and she had her favorite breakfast, waffles this morning.
Humming along to “Blue Skies”, she pulled open the heavy door, quickly made her way inside, pausing to tap her fingers against Josie, her best friend’s desk as she passed. Josie looked up and shot her a wink before getting back to work. She and Josie had been best friends since they were children and when she was transferred to Thorpe Abbotts, Josie made the trek with her and now they worked together daily, side by side.
As she neared her own desk, she noticed an older, tall gentleman standing near her desk, reading a report, awaiting her arrival. Dropping her purse on her desk, she gave him a curious look. “Colonel, what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you here at my desk so early this morning?” A bright smile on her face, she slipped off her coat, placing it on the back of her chair.
Taking a sip of coffee, the Colonel grinned seeing the bright eyed lady standing in front of him. “I need you to do something for me, Captain. We have a new Air Exec coming in from Greenland today before his men arrive in a few weeks. Can you show him around and help him adjust to the lay of the land around here?”
“And you’re asking me to show him around? A step up in the man’s world huh, Colonel?” She smirked, shaking her head. “What time does he land?”
Placing the coffee cup on her desk, he flipped through the papers in his hand, studying them intently before looking at her. “He’s due to arrive at 1300 at hardstand 4. My recommendation would be to first stop at the mess before making the rounds.”
“Noted.” She made herself a note, scribbling on a spare piece of paper. “Anything else?”
A full belly laugh escaped her father’s mouth as he shook his head and broke through the military facade. “Major Egan won’t know what hit him when he meets you, Ads. You'll handle all of his requests?”
“Of course. I’ll make sure the boy has everything he needs to be the best Air Exec he can be. Any chance you have any reading material on him?” Cocking an eyebrow, Addie gave her father a look.
“Want to know what you’re getting yourself into Adelaide?” Nudging around some papers on her desk, he held up a folder with a photograph paper clipped to the front. “I’m sure this is what you’re looking for. Remember 1300.”
“Just want to know what he’s about before I spend a few hours with him. I’ll be on the tarmac at 1250 sharp eagerly awaiting his arrival.” The sarcasm dripped off her tongue as her father shook his head.
He leaned over and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Behave Adelaide and I’ll see you later for dinner. Have a good day, you as well Josie.” Mock saluting him, she took a seat, watching him walk back to his own office.
“Well that’s an exciting way to start the day.” Josie’s amused voice called as she looked over at her.
Rolling her eyes, Addie shook her head. “Have you heard what everyone is saying about the Major?”
“Yes and they’re just rumors. No one has met the man, including your own father. I’d wait to meet him before you start believing rumors.” Josie shrugged. “Who knows, you might just fall in love with him.”
Scoffing, Addie’s eyes went wide before adamantly shaking her head. “No, no, no. After the catastrophe in Wisconsin, this heart is locked away.”
“You are allowed to have some fun, Addie. No one is telling you to stay guarded and locked hearted. You’re young, and after the last year, you should cut loose and have some fun. All we want for you is to be happy, however that looks.” Josie smiled sympathetically at her best friend.
Sighing, Addie took in her best friend’s words. The last year had been hell and her dreams were gone in an instant, leaving her with an unexpected future. She thought she would fly the big birds until the war was over and before she knew it, her hopes and dreams went up in smoke.
Addie looked at her watch, it was just after 0900 and she had a pile of papers in front of her that weren’t going to file themselves. She gave Josie a bright smile before getting to work, pushing the Major out of her mind until she actually needed to worry about him.
After being pulled into a few unexpected meetings, the morning passed by quickly for Addie. Before she knew it it was 1245. She quickly grabbed the paperwork necessary and a set of keys that were left on her desk. Hearing the door slam behind her, she quickly made her way down the tower steps, tilting her head back enjoying the sunshine on her face before making her way to the awaiting jeep. Jumping the engine, she grinned hearing the jeep roar to life before pulling out and speeding down the tarmac.
Pulling to a stop on the grass adjacent to the hardstand, she took a deep breath, feeling the light breeze ruffle her hair. She watched the ground crew prep the hardstand for the impending bird’s arrival.
“Miss Addie, you’re a sight for sore eyes.” Lemmons called out, as there were a few wolf whistles from the crew around him.
When she first arrived on base, she was happy to see some familiar faces, including Lemmons who was one that she had seen at Rattlesden when she would deliver planes there. The two had formed a friendship and she was excited to see him when she landed at Thorpe Abbotts.
Laughing, she stepped out of the jeep, thankful she wore flats today. “You tell that to all the pretty girls, Lemmons. You keeping these boys in line?”
“Trying to - it’s a hard task that someone has to do.” He replied back laughing as all the guys around him protested.
She heard the familiar roar of a B-17 as it approached. Shielding her eyes from the sun, she looked up following its path as it made a smooth landing. Watching as the bird, Saving Grace, came to a stop, she smiled. She had always loved the big birds and loved flying them.
Pushing off the jeep, she watched as the hatch opened, several gentlemen stumbling out attempting to get their balance after being in the air for so long. She instantly recognized Major Egan from his photograph and walked over to him, calling, “Major Egan.”
He whirled around hearing his name called, not expecting a pretty girl to be the one calling his name. He had to stop his jaw from dropping when he took her in. “Yes? And you can call me Bucky.”
“Bucky? Well, I’m Captain Adelaide Baker and I’m here to show you around.” She held out her hand as he gripped it, giving it a shake. Bucky was a rather odd nickname but she didn’t think much of it as she’d definitely heard odder nicknames during her time with the ATAs. “Do you have everything?”
“I’m a light packer.” She motioned for him to follow her to the awaiting jeep, him getting in before giving her a look. “Didn’t know I was special enough for an escort?”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Bucky, the brass wanted to make sure you felt a warm welcome to Thorpe Abbotts. Something about not wanting to scare you away before your men come over.”
“Well, so far I feel really welcome.” He chuckled as a flush crossed her cheeks. “And what does the welcoming tour entail?”
Putting the jeep in gear, she hit the gas as they flew down the tarmac towards the mess. “First stop, by recommendation, is the mess where you can get some grub then I’ll show you the barracks and the tower, where your office will be located.”
“Can you tell me a bit more about Thorpe Abbotts?” He asked, as she glanced over at him.
Shrugging, she geared down, slowing the jeep down as they neared the mess hall. “I’ve only been here for 8 weeks so there’s not much to tell. The US has only had the base for the last 12 weeks. Men come and go and the world keeps turning.”
“Eight weeks? That’s not very long.” He commented as she stopped the jeep and made to get out, he followed behind her.
Shaking her head, she opened the door, motioning him to go before her. “I was transferred here recently. It wasn’t my choice to be here but we do what we must.”
He heard the remorse and heaviness in her voice as he walked through the door. The mess was loud and rambunctious with officers scattered around. He followed her as she set her stuff down at a table. “Grab some grub and we’ll discuss what the afternoon will look like.”
“Are you getting any?” The concern was evident in his voice as she shook her head.
“Already ate before you came.” She sat down at the table, flipping through the papers, making some notes along the way as he disappeared to join the line. Addie smiled at some of the men that were scattered around as they caught her eye.
Soon a tray was dropped onto the table, knocking her back into the present. She plastered a smile on her face as Major Egan dropped into his seat and started eating. “This afternoon, you’ll have a meeting with Colonel Huglin and Colonel Baker. They’ll meet with you on expectations and what the next few weeks look like. Any questions so far?”
“All my questions are about you and not the base.” He smirked. “But can I reserve the right to ask some along the way?”
She chuckled. “Ask away, Bucky. Anything I don’t want to answer, I won’t.”
“You mentioned that it wasn’t your choice to come to Thorpe Abbotts, yet you’re here. Why?” He asked, shoveling another bite into his mouth.
She shook her head, giving him a look. “You’re going to have to get me drunk before I start discussing those secrets. Next question?”
“Challenge accepted, Captain. So can I take you out sometime?” He raised an eyebrow in challenge.
Addie giggled. “You haven’t been on the ground for an hour yet you are already asking me out. My, my Major don’t you move fast? I don’t even know where you’re from or your first name.”
“Manitowoc, Wisconsin and John, ma’am.” He showed her the million watt smile that usually got him his way.
Scoffing, she shook her head. “Of course you’re a Wisconsin man. Charm never fails you, does it?”
“What’s wrong with Wisconsin, Adelaide?” Leaning forward, John failed to see the issue with his home state.
She paused hearing her full name come from his lips, a smirk tugging on her own lips. “You can call me Addie. And nothing is wrong with it - I spent part of my summers growing up in Northern Wisconsin, a gorgeous state. You're exactly like the charming man I met in my past life who is from Wisconsin.”
“And where are you from, Addie?” He asked, turning the question back on her.
Pushing aside the papers, she folded her hands, looking at him. “Grew up on the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, just north of Detroit, Michigan. My dad has been in the military since I was a baby so we made our home there. My older sister and brother are both doing their part in the war effort currently.”
“Did you move around a lot as a child?” John asked, pushing his tray away and leaning back in his chair.
Shaking her head, Addie smiled. “Thankfully no. We moved once from the westside of Michigan to Selfridge on the eastside right after I was born and stayed there until I came over for the war, just before Pearl Harbor. I was part of the ATAs when Jaqueline Cochran brought a group over and never left. Where does the nickname Bucky come from?”
“Childhood nickname, don’t quite remember how it started. So you’re a fly girl?” His eyes widened, impressed with her as he looked at the woman in front of him.
She stood, grabbing her paper, giving him a look. “A former one, yes. Come along Major. We have places to be.”
“But I have so many more questions.” The whine was evident in his voice as he followed her through the mess hall.
Shaking her head, she pushed open the door, holding it for him to follow. “If you’re lucky, you might find me at the officers club tonight. But until then, your tour awaits.”
Climbing back into the jeep, she slowed in front of the infirmary. “Beware of the nurses in there. Some of them aren’t nice.”
“Speaking from experience?” John grinned, looking at her through his aviator sunglasses.
She smirked. “When you come home with a head wound that’s needing stitches, they tend to kick up a fuss and aren’t very gentle. It was Elizabeth, my own sister that did that. But she’s gone now.”
“Gone?” The concern was back in his voice as Addie smiled softly.
“She got transferred to Suippes, France last I heard. But that was three weeks ago so who knows.” She sighed. “That’s what she gets for being so damn good at her job.”
Gunning the engine, Addie continued on pointing out other buildings before coming to a stop at the barracks. “Head in, Major. Lieutenant Davis should be awaiting you to show you your bunk. I’ll wait here before taking you over to the tower to meet with the Colonels.”
He nodded, grabbing his bags before getting out of the jeep. “For what it’s worth, I’m sorry your Elizabeth is so close to the action. That can’t be easy.”
“We all do what we must, Major. This is just part of war.” She gave him a tight smile, watching him walk away.
As Addie waited, she had just one question on her mind - what the hell had she gotten herself into?
———————————————————
Fifteen minutes after she watched him walk into the barracks, he was walking out through the door once more. Climbing back into the jeep, he adjusted his hat before giving her a look. “Onward?”
Nodding, she shifted the jeep, pressing the gas pedal as they sped forward. “Who am I meeting with again?”
His voice broke the comfortable silence that had settled between them. “Colonel Huglin and Colonel Baker. They’ll set expectations for you for the upcoming weeks while we await your boys to land.”
“Any relation to you?” Bucky asked, as she snorted, chuckling.
“Took you long enough to ask.” She pulled to a stop in front of the tower. “And yes, that’s my father. He was reassigned here four weeks ago.”
Bucky’s eyes went wide. “And the fear factor just went up a bit.”
“Awww Major, don’t be scared of Colonel Baker.” She dropped her voice and winked. “The one you need to be scared of is Huglin. He’s a hard ass son of a bitch. And will probably whip you and your boys into shape in no time.”
Bucky threw his head back and laughed. He had never heard a girl with a mouth like hers and he couldn’t say he disliked it. “Damn Baker. You got a mouth on you.”
“Sorry.” She blushed. “When you grow up on a military base, you hear your fair share of words.”
Bucky quickly shook his head. “I didn’t say I didn’t like it. Just took me by surprise as you have been a perfect lady up until this point.”
“Looks can be deceiving, Major. Best to remember that.” She smirked, getting out of the jeep and motioning him to follow her. “Put on your military hat, Major. Your English military career starts now.”
He two fingered salute her before following her up the tower steps, stepping into the tower right behind her. “Major, welcome to Clearup Tower. This is where you’ll be stationed and awaiting news on your boys’ return. Both Colonels’ offices along with mine and your offices are located here as well.”
A throat clearing caught her attention as she smirked. “Ahh Major Egan, this is Josephine Adams, also known as my best friend. Josie, this is Major Egan, who just flew in today.”
“Pleasure to meet you Josie.” Bucky tipped his hat in her direction as he caught movement from behind him.
Addie came to attention as both Colonels shuffled in behind them. John quickly followed suit before the younger of the two called out “at ease.”
“Thank you Captain for showing Major Egan around. Major Egan, welcome to Thorpe Abbotts. I’m Colonel Huglin and this is Colonel Baker.” Huglin introduced himself, before looking in Addie’s direction. “You’re dismissed Captain Baker.”
Nodding to the men, Addie winked in Bucky’s direction before shuffling over to her desk. Taking a seat, she quickly flipped through the papers left on her desk as the men took their leave.
“Successful afternoon?” Josie whispered as the door to Huglin’s office closed.
Looking from the office to her best friend’s grin, Addie slowly nodded. “I believe so.”
“Well if there’s any consultation, that man couldn’t keep his eyes off of you, Adelaide.” Josie snickered. “So whatever you did earlier, keep doing it. Something has his attention.”
Ducking her face down, Addie felt her cheeks heat at Josie’s words. She didn’t do anything special, she thought. Just showed him around the base and answered his questions.
A million and one questions screamed in her head but one was louder than the rest - just what did Bucky Egan want with a girl like her?
What do you think? Feedback and comments would be most appreciated.

The Sixth Installment to Of Nifflers and Magic, I might be needing to make a list or something for easy access... Oh! Please feel free to ask questions if anything is confusing! @helendeath
Celia didn't know how long she was out, her eyes stinging as she squeezed them shut. Whispers from the past fluttered about her skull like flies, she couldn't move. Her entire body felt wrong, felt too heavy as if weights were chained around her limbs. This isn't London, she reminded herself, trying to think through the fog invading her mind and clouding her senses. She's at Hogwarts, somewhere in the Scottish Highlands. She's safe, she's with her friends. At least... she hoped they were friends, and that she wasn't just overlooking their kindness to the awkward new student.
Taking a deep breath, the smell of mint and lemon danced about her nose with something spicy. The fire that had been burning since she got out of bed that morning was spreading, the flames so hot it left trails of ice stretching like the roots of a tree through her chest. Clearing her throat made regret twist in her stomach at the pain that ghosted right back down, down deep into her lungs as she fought to keep the ball of magic inside in place. She didn't have the time for coughing, for her body to keep fighting against her everytime she lifted a fucking wand.
She needed to get up. To open her fucking eyes and get her brain working so she could focus on the situation at hand until she could crawl to the Room of Requirments, or even the Undercroft if it was empty, and hack up her lungs in peace. Something squeezed her hand, pulling her from the haze of her thoughts as something cold and clammy pressed against her knuckles and air tickled her fingers. Celia frowned, trying to make her hand flex, to squeeze back whatever was squeezing her. Yet her body still wouldn't obey, not when all she can hear is the dull roar of blood rushing through her ears and the memories that haunted her every time she closed her eyes.
Warmth surrounded her on all sides, and she had to fight to keep awake. The blanket of sleep attempting to pull her back under, but Celia had enough of reliving her once muggle life. She needed to be awake. There's something she’s doing, was doing? Is? She had been up to something, something important maybe? She couldn't remember, the sludge of her mind far too thick for her to even try and think through. With a deep breath, she forced her eyes to open. Squinting against the light of torches that made spots line her vision, but she refused to close her eyes.
The first thing she saw was pale skin bared from a white shirt, a green and silver tie hanging loosely and fisted in her grip. The black fabric of a cloak lined with emerald green was next, and when she managed to get the strength to crane her neck. She found her eyes traveling up, up, up. Watched the adam's apple bob as sweat slowly trickled a path along flawless skin that looked to be cut from stone, until she found a sharp jawline and high cheekbones. A narrowed nose, and pale eyes staring at nothing as blonde locks fell messily across his forehead, fallen from the slicked back style Ominis usually wore. She swallowed, heat dancing along her cheeks as she realized just who was holding her all this time.
Celia mildly thought it was Sebastian, the warmth of a furnace ever burning had made her think of him. Also given he had been closer when she had more than likely fainted, it had just made sense. She hadn't thought Ominis would be this warm, this firm mass that surrounded her that brought to mind a snake coiling around something precious. Her lips twitched, and she vowed to never share that thought with anyone. Not even if Adelaide offers her the best bottle of firewhiskey and the finest cup of coffee her uncle had ever thought to send her.
Tilting her head turned more into a dropping and she gritted her teeth at the weightless feeling that tingled in her own bones. Hopefully, this was just a side effect of being cursed by an unforgivable, and not something else. She needed time, time to hide and lose the battle alone where she didn't need to pretend everything was fine and dandy. With a measured breath, she forced herself to focus once more. The first thing she saw was thick, dark brown curls. Sebastian. His head lifted, her heart wrenching in her chest painfully at the tears trailing down rosy cheeks from his red, puffy eyes. He was mouthing words she couldn't hear, it was his breath on her fingers mingled with teardrops and she wished to squeeze it. To tell him everything was okay, that she's fine.
"-orry, never casting that ever again."
She struggled, don't say never. Why she can understand not casting crucio again, but some of them could be useful. Magic was magic, all that mattered was the one that wields it. Professor Fig had taught as much, and she's learned from his lessons. All of them, she's absorbed them like a sponge during the summer. Like hell would she let the most important lesson of all be tossed out a window.
"Celia?"
A hand gently caressed her cheek, tilting her head back so she was staring back at Ominis again. She hummed, her heart skipping a beat at the smile that stretched his lips. Relief colored his features, his forehead pressing into hers as he held her face tenderly. As if she would break if he held too tight, or would slip away if he let go. Heat blossomed under his touch, her eyes widening at the contact before he was pulling back. A proper grin stretching across his face.
"Thank Merlin you're awake." He breathed, shoulders losing the tension that had clung to them moments ago as she squeaked being nestled further into his embrace at the motion. "Sebastian and I were quite worried about you."
"I'm fine?" She cleared her throat, turning her head to Sebastian's own wide and relieved gaze, the guilt like a knife that pierced her heart with every flutter of tear lined lashes. She squeezed his hand, cursing herself for how much energy and strength it took. "Sebastian - it's okay, I'm okay."
"You weren't-" He sniffled, holding her hand tight to his chest. "I'm sorry- so sorry Celia, I-I didn't want to hurt you, bu-but you said to do it and for-for Anne; and-and I'd do anything for-for my sister, and you're my sis-sister too, and I-I hurt you-"
Her heart warmed, threatening to burst as her eyes stung at his words. She tried to throw herself at the other Slytherin, tried to lunge and tackle him in a hug like one she's seen Poppy do to Adelaide that knocked the taller puff flat on her back. Except her body wasn't quite cooperating and she frowned at the fabric that locked her wrist to Ominis' forearm, the emerald and silver tie that matched the one hanging loosely around the blonde's neck now circled his arm and knotted around her other hand clutched tightly in Sebastian's grip. She shook her head, questions later. She needed to hug her brand new brother right now!
"Sebastian-!" Celia cut off his cries, squeezing his hand and wiggling enough to get Ominis to loosen his hold. "Group hug me, please!"
He hadn't needed to be told twice, against Ominis' words of protest Sebastian too crawled into his lap. Hugging her close and sandwiching Celia in between them with a loud oomph! Celia didn't care, doing her best to try and hug him back as brown curls tickled her cheeks and she let Sebastian cry into her shoulder, and Ominis' chest. At least they were in this together.
"I'm okay, Sebastian, we are all okay. You did nothing wrong, magic is magic, what matters is the one who wields it." She soothed, bonking his head with her own with a hiss of pain. She had been attempting to hug him with her chin, apparently that translated into a headbutt instead. "That- sorry, I'm not quite sure why my arms are restrained, and I can't quite hug you when my arms are tied with... wait a minute, is that your tie?!"
Sebastian laughed, pulling away to settle back on his haunches. He wiped his face, his bashful smile making her raise a brow as she waited for an answer. Ominis sighed heavily, his hands moving to undo the knots that bound her to him. Muttering under his breath something about another delinquent. Celia made a mental note to correct him later, she wasn't a delinquent, she's a deviant. There's a complete difference! The moment Ominis had freed her wrists, Celia went to jump Sebastian. Only to be stopped by his arm tightening around her waist, his voice low in her ears.
"Easy now Celia." She gulps, heat rushing to her cheeks as fingers trail featherlight up the inside of her arm bared by her rolled up sleeves. "'Less you want me to tie you up and hold you down, again."
Immediately, her arm falls back to her side. The fire blazed over her face dripping down her throat to her chest as she realized that she had been tied up in two ways. Once with Sebastian's tie around Ominis' arm, and again by his own tie around her hand holding it to his chest. Why they felt the need to restrain her she didn't know, couldn't bring herself to try and dwell on it as she nearly launched herself at Sebastian. A living, breathing furnace with arms curling around her that apologized into her shoulder as she rubbed his back. Humming a soft tune as she listened, as she assured him he hadn’t hurt her. She is fine, he isn’t a monster and he didn’t do anything that she hadn’t asked him to do. That wasn't necessary. That she forgave him even if there's nothing to forgive.
It took a moment for Sebastian to stop shaking. To stop the tears in his eyes from falling, for his sniffles to ease. Pulling away, she ruffled his curls. Ignoring his half-hearted protests as she beamed with the force of the warmth filling her heart, she felt like she was going to burst from how light she felt. How free and unchained from the shackles of life.
"For Anne." Celia reminded, ignoring Ominis as he shifted behind her to get off the floor, muttering under his breath: "Anne would not want this."
If Sebastian heard his comment, he didn't respond. Merely getting off the floor and offering her a hand and tugging her to her feet the moment she grabbed it. Celia breathed a sigh of relief, letting her weight settle as pins and needles tingled up from her toes up to her hips. She didn't have the time to curse, her arms stretching out to find something for purchase. Sebastian lunged forward, a grunt escaping his lips as her face slammed into Sebastian's chest. Fuck.
"Oh, you're completely fine." Ominis said in a mockingly high voice.
Celia rolled her eyes. A squeak yanking from her throat as her legs were swiped out from under her. Instead of careening to the ground, she was lifted. Higher and higher until she was burning red, as strong arms locked under her knees and around her back. Ominis' features were unamused, a slight pink tinting his cheeks as he huffed. Shifting her up and earning another squeak as he adjusted his grip. His lips lifted in the corner, she scowled at the smirk curled on his dastardly soft looking mouth.
Dangerous, she decided. That's another word to describe the tall, blonde Slytherin. Dangerous, with his stupid kissable lips that she really wanted to bite. She needed to stop thinking about his lips, about how they'd look swollen and red from kissing. If he'd kiss her soft, and tender, as if she'd break, or if he'd kiss her like he was dying of thirst and her lips were the first drink of water. All teeth, and tongue that he would drag- STOP THINKING ABOUT HIS LIPS!
"-thinking you can walk off an Unforgivable."
She blinked, the sound of his voice crashing into her ears and she felt the fire of her blush spread to the back of her neck at the timbre of his voice, low and smooth like the finest butterbeer sliding down her throat. At the vibrations of the deep notes coming from his chest beneath her ears. He needed to stop talking. He shook his head, following Sebastian into Salazar's Scriptorium.
"Foolish."
"Hey, I didn't know."
"Because you didn't listen!" Ominis hissed through his teeth, slowing his pace until he came to a stop. The sound of Sebastian's footsteps growing faint as he continued to pursue the study. "If either of you had stopped to think, to listen to what I have been saying from the beginning - you'd know it wasn't just the pain that was excruciating. It was that it lingers… Lingers in every breath you take, in your bones, your muscles. It stays until your senses are so muddled you can't remember a time without the pain, and when it's gone you would do anything to go back and never feel it because..."
Ominis took a deep breath, his brows furrowed and eyes squeezed shut. Her eyes fell to his throat, watching as it bobbed when he swallowed. A shudder dancing down her spine that she did her best to resist, but when his grip tightened she knew she had failed before she had a chance to begin. She sucked her bottom lip in-between her teeth, feeling his chest raise and fall with the force of his breath.
"Because?"
"Because there will be days you will feel the effects of the cruciatus curse as if it's being casted on you again."
Her heart twinged, her head gently resting against his chest as she nuzzled into him. His breath hitched, and she hummed as her hands curled into his shirt. She watched his jaw clenched, his lips pursing and the frown formed between his brows slowly smoothed out with the rest of his features. Back into the calm, cool, collected mask that is Ominis Gaunt. "I... I'm sorry, Ominis." She cleared her throat, the beat of his heart a soothing lullaby beneath her ear. "I'm sorry your family has boners for snakes and dark magic, and can't see your brilliance."
He snorted, his response lost as her breathing evened out. Her eyelids were growing heavier and heavier by the second, the firm warmth of Ominis surrounded her. Wrapping and curling around her like a blanket of safety, a wall against the harshness of reality. She hoped one day she'd be able to be selfish and give him that sort of warmth and peace in her embrace. She wished to be allowed one day, because the heavens know she doesn't deserve more even if she wanted to gift him that for all of eternity.

Finders Keepers (but keeps it forever) - Wanda Maximoff x Werewolf female reader
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
CHAPTER ONE CHAPTER TWO CHAPTER THREE CHAPTER FOUR  CHAPTER FIVE
ㅤ ㅤㅤ note: I'm going to leave these songs, you'll need them.
Jules is portrayed by Adelaide Kane in my mind ofc. First part - Touched - VAST. Second part - Dress - Taylor Swift
Tumblr media
ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Everything has changed since that first full moon. And it has been for the last months, and the worst part is it hasn't been just one full moon after another, but also an eclipse at the same time. Yeah, it wasn't the best time in my life. ㅤㅤ
Believe me, if there is something worse than a blood full moon it is: a fucking eclipse.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ
My moods have been very different, more volatile than normal and also more sensitive. My appetite increases more and more, which is not strange since my metabolism changed a lot.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ
Everything was fine until this morning. I was feeling good, I felt whole again. It could be said that I could even smile. Took a long hot shower, the water running down my body. The raspberry scent of the soap seemed stronger than normal, but it was delicious. I could smell the coffee in the kitchen, surely Jules was cooking something because the smell was so damn good. I wouldn't leave her alone too long in the kitchen tho. You would think: what’s wrong with all that? It all sounds pretty nice, right?
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
My teeth started to hurt, the first time I thought maybe it was some dental infection or something. This wasn't a first time tho. A loud beep forced me to hold on to the bathroom wall, the noise of the drops hitting the floor resounded in my ears.
Falling harder, hitting the ground, it was too loud. Painful.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Seeing myself in the reflection I could notice a slight change in my eyes, remarkable. Began to slowly turn into an almost animal and primitive yellow. ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Something is brewing inside of me, something that recognizes me and I recognize as myself. It’s my eternal companion, cause once in a while, its allowed to get out, but don't mistake that for freedom.
I look at my reflection and can see that it smiles unlike me. The wolf knows that its winning and I need to know why. I need to know what's going on.
Am I the owner of my own body? Or am I just a guest? Is this my body still?
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ I can feel it. It's like the blood boiled inside me, the heat became unbearable. The pumping of the heart, pounding in my own ears. The sound of the bones breaking will only increase the horror show. From beneath you, it devours. It consumes you... Slowly. Beast talks to me, whispers to me, seducing me. Because I can't deny myself anymore, it's what I am. Jules was right about something, the wolf is inside me, all the time. And I can no longer divide the line that separates us, the wolf and me. I can't help it. I can’t control it. And I can't go back to you.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda. I miss you."
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N finished writing and sighed. She hesitated whether to send that e-mail or not, but as always, she just to deleted it. ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ She took her backpack and left the bedroom. Y/N looked out the window, the weather in Wyoming was turning cold and the trees were starting to turn white. But the cold was no longer a concern for her, she wasn't the same.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They were back in Wyoming two months ago, Y/N and Jules traveled trying to find a cure or more information about who they were. Traveled all over the world, from Alexandria to the vast African savannah, from the cold forests of Wyoming to the hot South America.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Lobisón, Loup Garou, Werewolf, Úlfheðnar, Luchthonn, Rougarou. So many names that tried to identify them, to many places, too many cultures.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But wherever they went, every book, every shaman, every person who knew about their true nature just told them that there were no cures for such a curse. Although some didn’t consider it a curse, some considered it a gift.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
A gift was a billion dollars, this was not a gift at all.ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Now living in the woods near a Native American reservation, the people recognized their nature and allowed them to stay, as long as the girls stayed away at certain times of the month.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
It was a good deal, enough to evade the hunters who were always on the lookout for supernatural creatures to kill. And even if the girls kept themselves locked up at every full moon, Hunters never ask, they'll just shoot.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“It’s coming… I can feel it.”  Jules told her as she placed a huge bowl of spaghetti in front of her, Y/N took a seat at the table. Her friend spent the afternoon making a delicious dinner, enough to calm the hunger, and the hunger of the beast within.
Even if they knew it was impossible, at least they felt less guilty.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Thank you.” Y/N sighed.  “Sometimes I feel like it's... overwhelming. Also feel revitalized, so positive, like I can do anything.”
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I know… But we will get through this together, those were difficult months.” Jules reached out to squeeze her best friend's hand.  “But we'll keep doing it, until this is over.”
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N took some bread before starting to eat.  “I'm starting to think this isn't going to end. I don't think we'll find a cure.”
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Me neither…” Jules smiled sadly but leaned over to take some cheese. “But it will stop, even if it means our hearts no longer beat.”
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They ate in a comfy silence for a while until Y/N hesitated.
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Jules?”
ㅤㅤ
“Yes?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I want to go back to New York.” Y/N just dropped it. That surprised Jules who just frowned somewhat worried.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Y/N…” Jules looked at her food kinda sadly, already talked about it many times but neither seemed ready for that.  “You know it's not safe for you to come back, nor for those who loves you.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know, but… Yelena sent me this.”
ㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/n sighed deeply and reached her backpack, pulling out what appeared to be an invitation, the paper was light purple. “She's getting married, Jules. I can't leave her alone on such a day… She’s my best friend.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules took the card in her hands, looking that beautiful invitation. Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova invited them to be part of the union of their love, in a beautiful golden font. Damn, she was so damn weak for romance. “It's in three weeks... I don't know... You'll be very close to the next full moon, Y/N. Like a week.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know, I plan to go back before then. Just attend the wedding and that's it, I'll be back.” Y/N looked like a little puppy, asking please to say yes.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules just was quiet for a moment, then nodded.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You’ll have to take care of yourself and take care of those around you. You know that a week before the full moon we get... hungry.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Then it’s a yes?” Y/N looked up, surprised. “Are you saying that...”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I'm saying you should visit your friends.” The girl smiled and continued eating her spaghetti. “After all, people don't get married every day, right? You should get out of all this for a bit, just don’t bite.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Y/N got up, hugged and kissed her friend's head, making Jules laugh.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You're welcome, pal, just call me if you need anything.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh no, you’re not staying here. You come with me.” Y/N sat back down to finish the food.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Me?” Jules frowned, now more confused and worried than ever. “No, Y/N. And what am I going to do there? I don’t know anyone.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You’re coming with me, that’s it. If I have to war a dress or a suit to go to a wedding, you'll come with me, I said.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Okay, but can I choose my own dress and-” Jules said so excited, a big smile on her face, when suddenly stopped, putting her hand towards her belly. Dishes smashed to the floor, she took a deep breath.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Both girls hissed in pain at the same time, feeling a deep stitch in their bodies.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“We have to… we have to go now.” Y/N managed to say getting up slowly after the pain passed, she looked out the window seeing that the sun would go down soon. According to google, sunset would arrive in an hour.
ㅤㅤㅤ
The brunette watched as Jules opened one of the safes hidden behind a painting and took out a suitcase. They both left the house and walked in the forest for perhaps ten minutes until they found to an old abandoned cabin. ㅤㅤㅤ
The owner was dead, now that cabin was their property. The important thing was that under that cabin, below the cabin, an old basement served as a prison every full moon. After working on it for a few weeks, they managed to make sure it was strong enough to hold them.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Silver was their ally, the bars were made of iron and silver as were the chains and handcuffs that would keep them trapped all night.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N took the briefcase, inside were four syringes with a liquid derived from wolfsbane and powdered silver, that would weaken them enough. On top of that, there was a gun and many silver bullets. The necessary so that if either of them crossed the line, they would use it without hesitation.
ㅤㅤㅤ Of course none would, they weren't capable. ㅤㅤㅤ
“I choose tails, you have heads…” The Boston girl announced as she tossed a coin. “Head. This time you go first.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N nodded, walking towards the cell where she would be held for the night. The claws on the walls showed the chaos of every month. Jules helped her put on each of the shackles, closing them tight.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Seeing the pain the silver chains was causing on Y/N, Jules tried to be as gentle as possible, helping her to sit on the floor.
Y/N swallowed as she felt an invisible pressure around her neck, hands and legs. So agitated, sweat began to fall down her forehead. But while the silver around her made her feel tired, it wasn't enough.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I love you, okay?” Jules tried to calm her down, though she knew it was impossible. She took the syringe and even though her hand trembled for a moment, ended up injecting Y/N’s leg as fast as she could. “Don’t be afraid.” ㅤㅤㅤ
As soon as she finished saying that, Y/N squeezed Jules arm so harsh, that if she were human it would have broken easily.  Pain was visible on Y/N's face, those eyes filled with tears.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“It hurts…” Y/N whimpered under her breath, clenching her jaw hard. The pain she felt was so deep and blinding, how each of her muscles contracted. Her heart pounding harder than ever, that pain was too much but necessary.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I know, luv.”  Jules just kissed her forehead, trying to comfort her.  “But this will weaken the wolf, making the night less... difficult.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules moved away seeing how Y/N closed her eyes and hugged herself, trying to bear the pain. She locked the cell and threw the key a few feets away, far enough so that Y/N couldn't take it.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N looked up to see how Jules locked herself too.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Everything will be okay.” This time, she tried to make Jules feel better.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“We will.” Sighing deeply, Jules injected the liquid into her leg really harsh. There was no time to be soft, soon the moon would rise and both would give way to the beast. Jules stifled a cry of pain and just closed her eyes feeling the wolfsbane reach the bloodstream.
ㅤㅤㅤ
The silver would weaken them enough, though not too much to kill them. They both hissed and writhed in pain for a long time until exhaustion began to wear them down, barely keeping their eyes open.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Good luck.” Jules slurred.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Please, be safe.” Those were Y/N's last words before closing her eyes.
ㅤㅤㅤ
But the peace of mind didn’t last long.
Maybe ten minutes later they both woke up suddenly, their hearts beating so damn fast. Her hands trembled uncontrollably.
Y/N took a deep breath, the heat suffocate her little by little. While the sun hid between the mountains, the wolf woke up in that cabin.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Like every full moon, the calvary began.
ㅤㅤㅤ Feeling how each of her bones broke with a chilling synchrony, how each fiber of her skin ceased to be hers and regenerated. Break and regenerate itself.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Again. And again.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Those eyes were no longer the same, a body which no longer belonged to her. How her will was given to a more primal being.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Releasing her and demanding Y/N to release it, set it free. Feeling the depths of the true nature, her true nature, so primitive and ancient but so natural at the same time.
But as every dawn, devotion and fidelity remains in Y/N’s heart. As well as the wildness and the wiliness.   Every night her bones are breaking, howling in pain.
ㅤㅤㅤ
The brunette fell to her knees, placing hands against the floor, clinging to its coldness to calm the inner fire, but it was impossible. The human fangs grew longer and sharper, the color of Y/N’s eyes changed to a wild shade of yellow.
ㅤㅤㅤ
She watched as her fingers clawed hard, finally letting out a scream.
A scream that was followed by a long howl, welcoming her new figure. The female and human figure was left behind, the Wolf was here now. Much larger than normal, but still a big, scary, wild wolf.
The fur was dark, while Jules's was a little more gray. Both glared at each other, far from looking for a rival, they connected. Now they were a pack.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Both beasts struggled to free themselves from their bonds but it was impossible, the silver kept them locked up and the wolfsbane kept weakening them. At least all night. ㅤㅤㅤ
That was all they needed.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
The birds singing made Y/n open her eyes slowly, lying on the cold floor of the cell. She sighed deeply, feeling how her whole naked body ached in a terrifying way.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Fuck.” She growled.
ㅤㅤㅤ
It was like the worst hangover in the world, she thought. Those were the exact words Jules told her, and she confirmed it since she was bitten.
Carefully, the brunette got up trying to take the backpack with clothes that they left the day before.
As she put on her oversized T-shirt, she heard Jules groan sleepily waking from that awful dream.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Welcome back, princess.” Y/N waved as she opened the cell and handed some clothes to Jules, who was just covering part of her naked body with her hands. Although to be fair, she didn't care about Y/N seeing her naked or anything anymore.
ㅤㅤㅤ
After half an hour, they returned to the house dragging their feet from pain and exhaustion. The hunger they felt was enormous; the beast always wanted to satisfy the ancestral hunger but it had not been fed for a long time.
And it never would be. It just left a horrible feeling, like they hadn't eaten well for a week.
ㅤㅤㅤ The brunette noticed how Jules was stroking her forehead when she was making some grilled cheese sandwiches, so she took some pills and a glass of water and handed them to her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Thank you. Silver is a bitch.” Jules growled, taking a few pills at once. “But at least that way we know we're not hurting anyone.” ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hurts too much but we have to pay the price for a clear conscience.” Y/N said and they began to devour their sandwiches. You could see the pleasure on their faces, like they hadn't eaten for weeks and finally got their favorite food. ㅤㅤㅤ
“So…” Jules licked her lips after drinking some of the juice. “We're going to the Big Apple.” ㅤㅤㅤ
“Two werewolves in New York.” Y/n nodded, licking the remains of ketchup from her fingers. “This is going to be fun…” ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
“Where to, ladies?” Asked the taxi driver with his voice raspy due to smoking.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N and Jules left JFK airport after a nearly six hour flight, but the cold air against her face made Y/N smile.
Oh, she loved New York in April.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“71 Manhattan Ave, please.”  Jules said as she put the backpack to her side.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Expensive a bit.”  Y/N raised an eyebrow.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“New York is expensive. What? We never go anywhere.” Jules shrugged and looked out the window at the busy New York traffic. “I thought we could treat ourselves this time.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah...we don't go to a wedding every day.” Y/N sighed and adjusted her sunglasses to enjoy the view. The trip was nice, despite the fact that it was 7 am.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yelena knows I'm going with you?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yep, as my plus one.” The brunette whispered and remained thoughtful.
ㅤㅤㅤ
She tried not to think about the consequences of the visit. What if Wanda saw her? What if she saw Wanda with someone else? Couldn't get over it, but she had to, for Yelena. She owed her after everything she'd helped Y/N.  Couldn't leave them alone on their wedding day.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You're worried that you're going to see Wanda, aren't you?” Oh, Jules knew her very well.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N swallowed and looked down. “It worries me to know that… I don't know if I can let her go once more if I see her again.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules just sighed and took her hand, squeezing it gently to show her support. “Everything will be okay, you’ll see.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
The green-eyed girl looked at herself for a moment in the mirror, enjoying that brown color. After a whole year, her hair was much longer, a few shades darker.
ㅤㅤㅤ Wanda smiled as she saw her friend in the reflection.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You look great.” the sokovian whispered as she finished helping Yelena put on her dress. The blonde's eyes shone when she saw how the hair was ready, tied in a beautiful way. Sure Yelena wasn't wearing white, but a nice light color was enough.
ㅤㅤㅤ “Do you think so?” Yelena gasped and looked at herself in the mirror again. “Wow... I never thought I could get married. But bitch, I look amazing.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I always thought that you looked more a dog person than a married person.” Natasha joked watching her from the door.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh make no mistake, sestra. I am both.” They all giggled happily, especially when they saw the happiness on Yelena's face.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“And here you are… Looking more beautiful than ever.” Nat added as she reached over to hug her sister. Wanda joined in, making it the most powerful trident ever seen.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Okay, lots of love for now, I'll go see if Clint and dad are ready.” Yelena broke away and was about to leave the room when Wanda spoke:
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yelena… I know I said I didn't want to know...” Wanda hesitated before what she was going to ask. “Is Y/N coming?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Yelena sighed. “I think so, I hope so… I sent her the invitation so many times but didn't have an answer. Kate sended it too.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
She just nodded and watched as Yelena closed the door behind her. Natasha and Wanda decided to adjust their own dresses and comb their hair for the beautiful moment, since they were the bridesmaids, of course.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You still miss her, don't you?” Natasha asked with a tiny side smile, although inside she felt really guilty about that. Seeing how her best friend suffered from Y/N's absence, knowing why she left and not being able to tell Wanda about it.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Me? Pff!” Wanda said pretending to be uninterested.  “No, no... of course not. I like Vision, he’s lovely. Remember?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yep… Still, you guys are nothing… like officially together or something. Just friends, right?” Natasha teased, knowing Wanda so damn well. She knew that if Wanda liked Vision so much -or as she was in love with Y/N before- it wouldn't have taken her so long to be his girlfriend.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Can we talk about Yelena? This is her day, not mine.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Sure.” Natasha nodded but when she walked past Wanda she just poked her belly with a finger.  “Liar.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
After getting out of the taxi and walking through that beautiful entrance full of flowers, Jules turned to see Y/N. She was wearing a nice femenine black suit while the Boston girl was wearing a flowery dress.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“How do you feel?” Jules asked a little concerned, noticing Y/n's silence since they left the house.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“A bit excited.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Don’t worry, ‘kay? She's going to be so happy to see you.” They walked until they reached the entrance, luckily Wanda wasn't around. Only some people she knew, like Daisy, Steve, Bucky, Carol and the gang.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You look more nervous than me.” Y/N smiled as she watched Jules move her hands, a pretty clear sign of the anxiety she felt.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey, Y/N! So good to see you!” Daisy came over to hug her and then walking away to keep talking to Bobbi.
ㅤㅤㅤ “Y/N, I haven't seen you for so long!" Carol moved closer to hug her for a moment. She was wearing a black suit that looked spectacular on her, especially with her blonde hair. Carol turned to Jules, shaking her hand. "And who's this beauty? I'm Carol Danvers, I love your dress." ㅤㅤㅤ
"Thank you." Jules stammered. ㅤㅤㅤ
"Oh, don't you dare." Y/N warned the blonde and then took Jules arm to keep walking. "Stop sighing, she's a heartbreaker. Let's go."
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Don't judge me, I'm about to walk into a wedding where no one knows me, I have social anxiety and I'm a werewolf close to full moon.” Jules licked her lips, glancing at some of the guests. “I have all the bingo numbers.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Come on… We will eat some delicious snacks, we will dance some 90s and 2000’s bangs, you will see me depressed and gloomy when I see the love of my life. It will be fun.” Y/N nudged her and held out her arm for Jules to grab.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing, Jules took her arm and they both took courage before entering the church.
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤㅤ
The moment Yelena saw Y/N enter the ‘bride #2’ room where she and her bridesmaids were, went over to hug Y/N so tightly. Closing her eyes, so was glad her friend was there.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Y/N! I was afraid you wouldn't come.” The blonde moved and watched her with immense joy. “I missed you so much.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I missed you too.” Y/N smiled happy, kissing her forehead. “You look beautiful, blondie. I’m so happy for you…”
ㅤㅤㅤ
She turned to see the beautiful bridesmaids, Wanda and Natasha. Both wore beautiful wine-colored dresses, loose hair and a look that could kill.
That room was decorated with beautiful flowers, some drinks to make the bride feel more relaxed and everything she needed to prepare herself.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey, Nat.” Y/N smiled and gave Natasha a big bear hug before pulling away. ㅤㅤㅤ "I'm glad you came." Nat smiled happy to see her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
"Yeah..." Y/N gasped looking at Wanda now. There she was, as beautiful as ever.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Wanda…” Y/N whispered. Her heart told her that she was still alive, and that it still belonged to Wanda. An entire year without seeing her, now she was there.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hi, Y/N.” Although those green eyes looked excited to see her, Wanda tried to pretend and hide her emotion to show a cold face. “You looking good.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Thanks… you still look beautiful! That dress looks so good on you...” Those words came out of Y/N’s mouth even though she didn't even think about it.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Nat and Yelena looked at each other and walked away, knowing it was time to leave them alone before the ceremony. What Y/N didn’t know is that minutes before, Wanda noticed the presence of Jules, who was taking a seat next to Daisy Johnson.
Suddenly all the happiness to see Y/N vanished, feeling enormous jealousy. And right now she had Y/N in front of her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“So…” Wanda raised an eyebrow.  “You’re here.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah.” Y/N swallowed, adjusting her blazer.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“With HER.” The Sokovian emphasized that last word, clenching her jaw. Wanda shook her head, felt so upset even if this was not the time to talk about it.  “Don't you feel guilty bringing her here with you? Not even a little? Isn't that embarrassing, Y/N?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N frowned now, didn't understand what the hell Wanda meant, she was just dazed to see her again. “Wanda, what are you talking about?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh, come on!”  Wanda just let out an ironic laugh, now that they were alone she could finally explode. “You were an idiot, but now I realize that I was the idiot all that time. I can't believe you're doing this!"
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Wanda…”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“No, you don't have the right to do this! This is my friend's wedding too, and I can't believe you brought that woman here knowing that I was in love with you!” Wanda pointed at her, annoyed. “That you ghosted me! And cheated on me!”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I didn’t ghosted you.” Y/N gasped and shook her head.  “Well, not like that, I mean…yeah, but no!”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh fuck you, Y/N!” Wanda shook her head and decided to get out of there, but Y/N dared to block her way. ㅤㅤㅤ
“I mean it, Wanda, Jules is not my girlfriend. I've never cheated on you!” She took her arm gently, not wanting to hurt Wanda but enough to hold her.  “She is like my sister.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“What?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Umh, it's… more difficult to explain than you think but…” Y/N stammered scratching the back of her neck, she never thought she should explain who Jules was. Lie now and fast. “She’s like my sister, we share a bond… family. Not of blood, she is… beyond that.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You and that girl aren't together? Never were?” Wanda's eyes widened in surprise, for a moment all the anger she felt against them seemed to diminish.
ㅤㅤㅤ
At that moment Cassie Lang came into the room to tell them the brides would be arriving soon and that the bridesmaids and bestman should go to the aisle.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Of course not.” Y/N  laughed at how ridiculous that sounded, she opened the door for Wanda to go out first.  “She's not the reason I left.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh…” Wanda sighed and smiled shyly.  “That's good because Natasha is flirting with her right now, over there.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
The Sokovian pointed towards the area where the guests were and could see how Natasha talked to Jules, clearly trying to win her over.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Damn, that was fast.” Y/N raised an eyebrow and they both laughed. "She beat Carol."
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Sorry… I misunderstood all that. I saw you with her, leaving a coffee shop a year ago, before you left me alone. I thought you just… you left me for her.” Wanda pressed her lips together, finally confessing what she had hidden for so long.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“It's okay. I saw you with Vision too…” Y/N wrinkled her nose.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh, no. Ew. He’s just a friend.” She babbled nervously.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Good… but, umh… I was with her yes, taking care of Jules…she… had some trouble.” Y/N sighed wistfully.  “I can't talk about it here, but… walking away was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. To get away from you.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Then you never forgot me.” Wanda's beautiful green eyes sparkled.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I could never forget you, Wanda Maximoff.” Y/N smiled. Their gazes, impossible to detach from each other, they were face to face.  “I was so in love with you.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“… Was?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N was going to keep going when Natasha's voice brought them back to life. “They’re ready.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Both nodded and settled on each side, Wanda walked away but not before saying:
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I'm glad she's not your girlfriend or something... but I don't forget that you ghosted me and you broke my heart.” Wanda definitely wasn't going to leave it like that. “We'll talk about this later.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N nodded and settled to the side next to Natasha and Wanda. On Kate's side were America Chavez, Cassie Lang, and Peter Parker.
ㅤㅤㅤ
The wedding march was heard, but then it was interrupted to play Yelena and Kate’s favorite song, making the moment one of the most beautiful Y/N has ever experienced.
Tumblr media
The party had everyone quite happy, Yelena and Kate couldn't stop laughing as the guests danced to a catchy 2000’s song.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Feeling a bit thirsty, she went to the bar to order sometrhing and noticed that Wanda was expecting the same thing. The Sokovian drummed her fingers on the wooden table, lost in her own thoughts.
Damn, she really did look beautiful in that dress.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey.” Y/N stayed next to her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey.” Wanda smiled. The bartender finally handed her the cocktail and took Y/N's order.  “You alone?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“My ‘plus one’  is with your best friend over there.” She nodded at Jules dancing with Natasha and Yelena. “She was pretty scared that no one would listen to her. Look at her now!”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“The power of a few beers.” Wanda joked. After taking their cocktails, both walked away from the dancefloor to go to the terrace. “Where did you both meet? I mean, I know you, or at least I did and… your friends were Yelena, Kate, and Natasha.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/n swallowed, should she tell the truth? Why didn't she study what she should say and what not? The truth is, that Y/N didn’t expect to spend time with Wanda. She expected the Sokovian to reject and ignore her all night.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“We knew each other for a while before… I left.” Y/N looked down to see her cocktail, rather embarrassed to talk about it like it was a normal thing.
ㅤㅤㅤ
And it was noted how that affected Wanda, who seemed to be really hurt at the mention of that. "Why did not you call me? Why didn't you tell me where you were going?"
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I couldn't tell you.” Y/N begged Wanda not to continue.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda snorted, shaking her head. "Sure."
ㅤㅤㅤ
"I mean it."
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Why?” Wanda persisted, she didn't want to let it go.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Cause…” Y/N was about to spill everything but just stopped, swallowing her own words. She looked around, everyone was enjoying the party or the food. “I can't tell you here, okay?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda licked her lips, tasting the delicious cherry flavor from the drink and then leaned in to whisper:  “Is it a legal problem?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N frowned. “What?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“The problem you left is… a legal one?” Wanda cleared her throat. “Were you running from someone?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
The brunette thought about those words for a moment, was she really running from someone or from herself?  It was a tricky question.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah. Jules and I… we were running from someone.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I understand.” Wanda said a bit worried, now she understood the situation better although it didn't make it less painful. “Violent situation?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah, very violent. I didn't want to put you in danger.” Well, after all, that was true. Right?
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I'm sorry about that.” The Sokovian sighed and took Y/N's hand, squeezing it gently. “I hope you can tell me well about it later. If… we can still… hangout sometime.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N stared at Wanda for a moment. Boy, did she look as beautiful as ever. Laughter caught both of their attention, everyone was definitely having a great time. Even the grumpy Bucky who was smiling, drinking and dancing. This wasn’t time to be the brooding werewolf girl trying to stay away, was it?
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey... would you like to dance with me?” She finally held out her hand for Wanda to take, and smiled when the Sokovian did.
ㅤㅤㅤ “I was dying for you to ask it.”
Tumblr media
The door opened quickly, letting in two women devouring each other between kisses, completely desperate.
Y/N's lips searched for Wanda's in a needy way, barely separating to breathe. Her hands were quick enough to release her body and close the door behind them.
Our secret moments in your crowded room. They got no idea about me and you.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh my god!” Wanda gasped, they both laughed at how ridiculously needy they were of each other.
ㅤㅤㅤ
After spending the whole night provoking each other between glances and smiles, thanks to alcohol too, both ended up kissing each other in a lonely area in the Chateau gardens.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I wanted this so bad, detka. Every night thinking of you.” Wanda whispered, closing her eyes to surrender to the pleasure. "Only bought this dress so you could take it off."
ㅤㅤㅤ
They both dropped into the hotel bed, stripping off their clothes.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Say my name and everything just stops, I don't want you like a best friend. ㅤㅤㅤ
This was their first time together but it seemed like they had known each other forever. Caressing the exact areas to make the other melt completely.
Even if she wanted to stop, Y/N couldn't even control herself. As if she were possessed by the power of the next full moon, she devoured Wanda's lips with pleasure, desperately ran around her neck, owning her sighs.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Carve your name into my bedpost ,'cause I don't want you like a best friend.
ㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ
Of course it wasn't just a product of pleasure and passion; the silent, hungry beast inside urged her to want more. To adore that woman, to love her and to go completely mad for her. Wanda was hers. ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N sniffed Wanda's scent, closing her eyes, sighing deeply as if she were impregnated with it. As if she swore an eternal devotion to her, and what lived inside would gladly accept it.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Don't bite her.
Don't bite her.
Don't bite her. If you love her, don’t bite her!
ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Those words flashed through her mind over and over again. She shouldn't bite her, though that wouldn't mean spreading the werewolf venom, would it? She could only do it on a full moon. Or maybe... no. Even if the wolf wanted to bite her so bad, she would never do it.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N just growled with desire, ignoring all those thoughts and letting herself lose in desire.
Every kiss, every lick, every moan was printed in Y/N’s mind, on her skin and in her heart. The way Wanda dug nails into her back as they reached their first orgasm, or their second one, or their third one or the rest of them. All of this silence and patience, hands shaking from holding back.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Say my name and everything just stops. You made your mark on me, like a golden tattoo.
ㅤㅤㅤ
That was one of the most exciting, hungry and exhausting nights that both had lived.
ㅤㅤㅤ
The agitated breathing of both, resting in bed after hours of need.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“That was amazing.” Wanda giggled happily, turning to see Y/n who didn't stop smiling either. “That was a good way to meet again...”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“It was. Damn, babe. You’re gorgeous.”  Y/N gasped, finally leaned in to give her a cute peck on the lips.
ㅤㅤㅤ Y/N knew that she was screwing up everything, it wasn't okay, she knew perfectly well that she was unleashing much worse chaos for later, only to live in the present. Still, she didn't want to get out of that beautiful moment.
They were back together, it was all that mattered.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Tumblr media
And although for Y/N many awakenings were terrifying, this had been the most beautiful of all in her entire damn life. Seeing Wanda snuggled against her body, smiling sleepily in the cutest way in the world. Oh, that was heaven for sure.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Now I wake up by your side. My one and only, my lifeline. I woke up just in time.
ㅤㅤㅤ
And without hesitation, Y/N would sell her soul twenty times over to awaken her entire life like this, leaving behind a chaos she had never asked for. How was she able to endure all this time without Wanda?
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Are you okay, detka?” Wanda asked curiously while she touched the brunette's belly. The morning sun tried to intrude between the curtains. “I see you're a bit thoughtful. Are you regretting this?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“What? No! NO! Not at all!” She exclaimed desperately, but calmer when she saw how Wanda laughed.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I’m just kidding.” She laughed and kissed Y/N’s lips. “I'm going to the bathroom, don't you dare leave.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I wouldn't even think about it.” Y/N smiled at her, watching as the brunette bit her bottom lip, walking fully naked to the bathroom.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh, god.” Y/N sighed and dropped her head on the pillow. She glanced the phone on the nightstand. Should she...?
ㅤㅤㅤ
Didn't want to come back to life outside of this room, but she had to be responsible for her actions.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N reached for her phone and looked at the notifications.
A very cute text from Yelena and Kate, two texts from Natasha asking where the fuck she was, and two from Jules.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I saw that you left me completely alone at the wedding (I’m so glad you did!) but thanks to the Russian redhead I was able to get home safely. (She’s taking me rn! I mean taking me home, not taking me- well, maybe later) Have some safe sex! Please, don’t bite your ex! I MEAN IT.” – from Jules, eight hours ago.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N just rolled her eyes and giggled. Feeling in the clouds. Everything was back to normal for a few minutes and her chest filled with joy. Or perhaps it was the ego of wolf, knowing that soon it would be free.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda came out of the bathroom and upon hearing Y/N’s giggle, she approached smiling.  “What is it, detka?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“What is it? I have you here with me, looking so fucking hot.” Y/N smirked. “Everything is perfect.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh shut up, flirty.” The Sokovian blushed, lying down next to her again.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You look like a goddess, Wanda Maximoff.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Those words reached Wanda's heart, those eyes shone with pure illusion. But to break the beautiful moment, Y/N’s stomach began to growl.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Someone’s hungry…” Wanda joked and they both laughed.  “Would you like to have breakfast together? Let me buy you something, because I don't have anything to cook here.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N narrowed her eyes, playing with her.  “Of course not, it's a hotel, dummy.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Oh, shut up.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Although room service was tempting, the high prices made them both look at each other and quickly get up to take a shower together, going to the nearest restaurant. Holding hands, like two teenagers in love.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Are you going to eat all that?” Wanda asked when she saw the amount of chicken club sandwiches Y/N ordered for herself.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Yeah, why?” The brunette took a bite of one of these, sometimes she forgot how much she had to eat and how surprised people were when they saw it. “I'm starving.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I see…” Wanda smiled tenderly, sipping some coffee.  “Okay, after an interesting night where we couldn't talk... tell me what happened to you all these months. There are some changes in you, I can tell. Besides the scars on your body.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
That took Y/N by surprise, fought not to choke on her food. “Well… like I told you, it's quite long story.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“We have time.” Wanda raised an eyebrow. “I don't want to be annoying here but you owe me an explanation.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Sighing, Y/N took a moment before beginning.
ㅤㅤㅤ
"The situation with Jules... well, umh… you know-”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Cut the crap, Y/N. I’m glad to see you and the sex was amazing but you better start talking right now.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N narrowed her eyes. “Okay, no need to be all bossy!” Sighs. “The night we saw each other and had our date, I had an accident.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
This took Wanda by surprise, leaning in.  “Y/N, what? Are you okay?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
She nodded. “I had an accident which… I was slow to recover and Jules took care of me. That's when I met her.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda just remained silent. Maybe trying to make sure Y/N was telling the truth.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“That's why I couldn't call you.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Why didn't you do it later?” the sokovian asked skeptically.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I wanted to! Of course I tried. I just couldn't… the guy with who I had the accident that night was a very violent person. He attacked Jules… He was after her, threatening her so we had to run...”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Not even her realized how she tried to get out of that web of lies and mixed truths.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Sounds scary.” Wanda seemed terrified with everything she heard, but above all, she felt somewhat guilty and worried.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You can’t imagine how much.” Y/N looked down. She had never talked about this with anyone but Jules.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“When I came to see you again, a year ago, I just… couldn't. I saw you with Vision and I saw that you were fine, I didn't want to get you in this huge trouble.” She shrugged, remembering the jealousy when she saw that stupid british guy.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Y/N… you would never get me into anything dangerous.” Wanda took her hand and caressed it. “I know.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N swallowed, was that really true? She was the one who was really dangerous now.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“So…” Y/N decided to keep going and not sink into the guilt. “We left the city, we were traveling for a while to get rid of the… guy.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Wow, that sounds so sad and lonely.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“It was…”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda sighed and kissed the back of Y/N's hand, thinking about everything Y/N went through alone.  “I really missed you, a lot.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I missed you everyday.” Y/N confessed with immense pain, leaning over to kiss her lips one more time.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“So... knowing that you're not seeing anyone and that you still like me...” Wanda bit her lower lip. “Can we…?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N smiled tenderly. “I don’t like you, Wands, I’m still in love with you.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Wanda finally smiled happily.  “Can we still see each other?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
And though it took her a moment to think about it, Y/N just answered with the heart and not her mind, not knowing the chaos it could bring.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Of course.” She leaned down to kiss Wanda’s lips. “Now that I see you, I can't let you go.”
Tumblr media
“HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?”  Jules yelled, shaking her head and closing her suitcase.  “I’m this close to kick your STUPID, IRRESPONSIBLE ASS!”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Jules… please!”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“No, Y/N. This is… This is beyond irresponsible!” She stormed into the living room angrily.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Exactly as Y/N thought, Jules hadn't taken well to the fact that she and Wanda were seeing each other again. Especially the story she made up to keep from telling her the dangerous and scary truth.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Perhaps the fact that the moon was full tonight made them both have a more explosive temper than normal.
"How long have you both been seeing each other?!"
"A week? Since we came here..."
"Y/N, you can't do this. I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THIS!"
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Jules, come on! I can’t lie to her.” Y/N tried to follow her friend.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“YOU’RE LYING ANYWAY! SWEET SUFFERING JESUS, Y/N! I told you that this was not safe for you or for them!” She put her hands on the hips, trying to calm herself. Jules inhaled deeply, then exhaled. “Are you dating again?”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Why is it a problem that I’m dating Wanda?” Y/N just flopped down on the sofa, utterly defeated. She felt like a scolded puppy.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“For the same reason we left. Because you're going to hurt her again! She doesn't deserve that! That girl is amazing…” Jules felt so upset with Y/N and with fate for making them suffer so much.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“But I'm not going to hurt her, I want to be with her. I'm not going to leave her again.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“That's much worse, Y/N!" Jules watched her like a bird of prey.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“I can do this… and be with her too, right? I can hide every full moon, we go to the woods like we will tonight. I'll rent the cabin every month...”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Y/N…” Jules tried to talk but Y/N stopped her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Jules, I miss her so much. You have no idea how much it hurts." Y/N's voice broke, she brought her hand to her chest trying to calm the deep pain was feeling. The wolf didn't want to let her go either. “I can't be away, I tried to get away... but I can't do it anymore. I'd rather rip my heart out than lose her again. I love her. Jules, please, I love her.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules sighed and all the anger inside vanished when she saw the tears in Y/N's eyes, she walked over to sit next to her.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Do you feel okay knowing that you lie to her every time you see each other?” This time, her voice was sweet and calm.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“No… I feel like shit.” Y/N looked at her hands.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Does she know all the pain you go through every month? Is she capable of choosing you knowing the danger she's into? Look… I know it's hard, I know letting her go was horrible… but you have to be honest with her. Or walk away."
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N didn't say anything, just kept looking down.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“You're not just exposing her to the wolf, Y/N.” Jules looked at her with sadness. “You’re exposing her to people who's going to hunt us down if they find out. Hunters are something you don't want to mess with... they'll use her to their advantage.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
The brunette just nodded. “I'll talk to her after tonight’s full moon.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
“As you need. Now we’ve to go.” Jules squeezed her shoulder and then got up from the sofa, they both took their keys and left that apartment a bit in a hurry. “I’ve paid for two more weeks... you can stay that long here while you figure it out.”
ㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N nodded and they both went downstairs, but the brunette stopped when her phone rang indicating that she had a new text.
ㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ
“Detka, are you home? or free tonight? I would like to take you to a nice place.” - From Wanda, few seconds ago.
ㅤㅤㅤ
"Fuck."
ㅤㅤㅤ
“What?” Jules asked seeing Y/N's disappointed face.
ㅤㅤㅤ
“It’s Wanda.” Y/N sighed, she was feeling so frustrated. Of course, what she wanted most was to go with Wanda on a one-of-a-kind date on a beautiful full moon, and not spend it locked up watching her best friend suffer. Turning into a dangerous monster.
ㅤㅤㅤ
Jules didn't say anything, she knew that for Y/N it was already painful enough. An 'I told you so' wouldn't help at all.
Y/N proceeded to write fast as they went downstairs.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
“Hey, babe. Sorry, can’t do it tonight. I'm not home either, I'm working and I'll have to stay overnight. I'm sorry!” – Sent a few seconds ago.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Y/N sighed deeply before leaving that building, walking with her best friend to the car they rented. But what she didn't know, nor had she noticed, was that Wanda was parked in front of the house, with Y/N's favorite coffee and buns, ready to surprise her.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ
The sokovian saw how Y/N got into the car and took off with Jules. She looked at her phone and saw that the last text was: 'you don't know how hard it is to work here right now! I'm exhausted!"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Of course Y/N was lying to her again, but why?
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
Without hesitation, Wanda sped up to follow them and find out what the hell they were up to. Once and for all.

Chapter 2, "Someone's Dirty Bathwater"
Jackson Lamb x fem!OC, Slow Horses
Rated 18+ for later chapters.
Tumblr media
If you have time to show some love on AO3 or want to bookmark for later, head here! :)
Adelaide throws the rubbish in the giant bin outside of Slough House and hops into her car. That interaction was certainly something.
She does not understand at all how smelly, greasy old Jackson Lamb, King of the Fuckups, had her so horny right now. Attraction is a very mysterious thing. Perhaps she likes the challenge? Or maybe she likes the way he spoke to her. Maybe a little degradation is sexy? At any rate, she knows nothing can happen until he learns the most basic of hygiene. She wasn’t asking for him to clean up like a prince, but some Pears soap and a bit of attention under the nails might be nice. As it stood right now, he would finger her into needing a double round of antibiotics.
She has dreams about him that night. He wasn’t really doing anything in the dreams. Just repeatedly pulling his pants up over his belly and glowering at her with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. He looked like a caricature in a comedy. She should have woken up laughing at the absurdity. But she actually wakes up with a damn tingling between her legs and an excitement to start her day. What the actual hell?
That morning, when Lamb appears in the Slough House office, unshaven and unshowered, he's surprised to see such a glow on her face. In fact, Lamb is surprised at the brightness all round. The office is clean. Spotless. But more importantly, it smells a lot nicer than usual. Even with him in it.
“Good morning,” Adelaide says brightly. “I decided to start at 6 instead of 8. Ho took a break from his game to let me in. Apparently he gets here and games with people overseas before everyone else reports to work.”
“Does he now?” Lamb huffs, but he’s too distracted to give that tip too much thought. He looks around at the office, which now gleams in the morning light. It was like she was trying to piss him off. "You’ve been pretty busy, I see."
“I have,” she agrees, taking steps toward her pile of belongings in the corner. “And I brought a few things for you as well.”
The thought of this woman doing something nice for him was starting to irritate him a little. "A few things? What kind of things?"
She drags a carpet bag up on the table like a fucking sunshine-bubbly Mary Poppins.
“For starters— chocolate croissants. Something tells me the way to your heart is through your stomach. Assuming you have one. A heart, that is. But if we’re going to spend a month around one another, I’m determined to at least make you pleasant.”
Lamb is stunned into silence by her generosity. No one has done anything this considerate for him in… longer than he could remember. She thinks this is the way to his heart? That it'll be some kind of chink in his armor? This girl must be crazy. Insane. But the thought of those chocolate croissants and the scent of the accompanying freshly brewed coffee has him considering how it might be possible to like her, even if just long enough to eat.
“And here we have…”
She takes items out of the bag one by one: a bar of soap, body wash labeled “blood orange and spice,” anti-dandruff clarifying shampoo, deodorant, Nivea, and some concoction called “Moroccan neroli” aftershave. She also sets out nail clippers and a file. A fucking nail file!
That girl is out of her mind - a nail file? But he’s beginning to see the effort she’s making. This girl's really thinking out of the box. This could be the best way to get to him. She is getting to him, that much was certain. "Well, well… how fucking considerate,” he mutters. That was all he could manage for the moment.
“So I won’t be able to work in the washroom today, then? Because you’ll be occupying it?” she asks pointedly.
Lamb laughs, enjoying the sparring– the sense of them working each other to their breaking point. "Oh God, I guess you won't. I guess I'll be doing my personal grooming right here. On the office table. In full view of everyone."
“They might buy tickets,” Adelaide laughs.
"I can see it already,” he drolls. “Long queues outside the office. Tipping their hats from every direction. All to see that distinguished silver fox take the most refreshing shower of his career. You'd think I was bloody Brad Pitt for the way everybody’s going to be staring at me.”
She seems pleased with herself. “I bet you’ll clean up quite nicely. Then you can take me out for a drink after work.”
“Oh? And why would I want to do that?" he demands. "This isn't a date, is it?"
She shakes her head. “Of course not. It’s a drink.”
"Oh, so there’s no expectation of anything romantic in any way whatsoever?" He stares hard, a gleam in his eye.
She looks away briefly. “I don’t get the sense that you’re the romantic type.”
"Oh, you think you've got the measure of me, do you?” he says in a surly voice. “You think that I don't know how to treat a lady?" He moves slightly closer to her, so close she can smell the hint of chocolate croissants on his breath and feel the heat of that breath hitting her skin.
She appraises him with a raised eyebrow, leaning back slightly at the waist but not actually stepping away. “I’m not sure, to be honest.”
Lamb closes the gap between them again. He’s so close now she can see grey flecks in his blue eyes. Close enough to kiss her….
Close enough to kiss her deeply and passionately, if that’s what she wants. And then he remembers... the smell. The smell of his breath, his clothes. And the fact she’s so very young. No. She can't actually like him like this. Can she?
Adelaide tightens her jaw and doesn’t breathe. She’s very attracted to him carnally, but her nose is still unfortunately fully functional. And it’s betraying her more forgiving body parts.
Lamb can tell he's got her on the hook. He's been able to read women since before he could read at all. Women tend to find him irresistible, even in the midst of his worst moments. Of course they didn’t like to show it; they preferred to banter and fight. But he knew. And this girl was no exception.
Just to prove it to her, he takes the cigarette out of his mouth, takes a last drag, and crushes it out in the ashtray next to her. And then he leans in toward her and whispers in her ear, "Let me know what time you're free tonight, and I'll remove any mystery.” Before she can say anything in response, he leans his head slightly back and smiles smugly.
“I’ll feel comfortable leaving around 5:00,” she finally replies. “I should be able to tackle a few of the other desks by then.”
“So then you'll be free at... say seven?" He's trying his damndest to sound nonchalant.
She laughs. “You’re giving me two whole hours to go home and get dolled up for you? Do you think this is a date or something?”
"Yes," he answers flatly. "It is a date, and there's nothing you can do about it but prepare to have your wet knickers seduced right onto the floor."
She laughs out loud at this. “You’re pulling my leg.”
"I might do that later, too,” he remarks. “You can deny it all you like, but the truth is, you're already going to dress up for me, and we both know it. Even if it's only for dinner, there's still an element of courtship taking place. Or, if you prefer, seduction. And I'm telling you now, I'm going to seduce you. There's nothing you can do to stop me.”
She blinks again, biting her thumbnail in amusement. “We shall see then, won’t we? You might want to start on that bath. You only have 11 hours.”
"Oh, that's plenty of time,” Jackson assures her. “And remember, you might find that you like what you see when I'm clean. After all, you haven't experienced the unadulterated essence of Lamb yet."
Adelaide’s face feels like it might burst with the effort to hold back her giggles. “Is that something you share with women often? Your essence?”
"Women love my essence." Lamb's tone is playful, confident. He's got her hooked. "And you're no exception - you'll love it too. Once you get a taste, there won't be another guy you'd even consider. I'm going to ruin you."
Now she’s really chomping on her nail. He’s got her fascinated. It’s like he actually understands the disconnect between his appearance and the power he has over the female sex. Though she’s sure 99% of women would never admit it, and would therefore never spread their legs for him. She’s quite interested to find out just how much experience he’s actually had.
"The other men in your life will pale into insignificance,” he continues, taking a seat that nearly sends the rolling chair crashing into the wall. “They won't be able to compare to me. Once our lips meet, I'll make you crave me for the rest of your life, even when I'm not around. I'll be the one you have wet dreams about. The one you picture when you're trying to get turned on. The one whose face you imagine at your most private moments..."
She squirms and darts toward a feather duster, going to work. She simply can’t take it anymore. For one thing, she didn’t bring a change of knickers. And as he’d predicted, these were quickly becoming uncomfortable.
Lamb smiles to himself as he watches the girl squirm. She can't pretend to ignore him, even with a duster in her hand. Even now, she's pretending to clean, when they both know she's thinking about more lascivious things. The woman is a tease, but it's obvious she has a plan. She's playing hard to get.
About that time, River Cartwright pokes his head in with nervous eyes.
Lamb doesn’t even look over. He’s never surprised by the interruption of ineptitude.
“Um…” Cartwright begins.
“What do you want, Cartwright?” Lamb still doesn’t take his eyes off the girl.
“You told me to bring your car around and wait for you. That was 30 minutes ago,” Cartwright reminds him.
Lamb looks across to Cartwright, and his demeanor suddenly changes. He goes from arrogant playboy to irritable, annoyed chief in seconds. And it's all for show. He doesn't want Cartwright thinking he's been flirting with a girl, even if he’d actually rather be flirting with a girl. "Get my car to the front. I'll be down in a minute."
Cartwright disappears, and Adelaide shakes her head with a “tsk tsk.” “So you’re out in the field today? Time’s really ticking on that bath. I bet you’ll show up at 7 tonight looking just like you do now. Only with maybe a few extra stains from lunch.”
"Oh, I'm sure the stains won't be a problem for you." His tone is smug again. He knows he's already got her under his spell. And there she is, biting her nail, again.
“As a matter of fact it will,” she snaps back. “No bath, no drink.”
"Are you telling me you'd actually turn me down if I was still dirty?” he asks incredulously. “It's not like you're the epitome of cleanliness. That nail is getting shorter by the minute, you know."
“I’m dirty from cleaning decades of muck up from this shithole,” she says with rolled eyes. “Believe me, I pretty-up quite a bit before I go out for drinks.”
He props his feet up on his desk, revealing a big toe poking through an undoubtedly putrid old sock. "So you're saying you're planning to get washed and ready tonight for your hot date?” he teases her. “That's good to know."
“You’ll take one whiff and wish you could drown in me,” she promises.
"Is that a challenge?" Lamb raises an eyebrow, as the girl is clearly trying to flirt with him now. He can practically hear her heartbeat through the air between them.
“A challenge on who will smell the best? Or a challenge not to drown in me?” she clarifies.
"Either one," Lamb grins, enjoying this. It's good to flirt again. The girl is attractive– beyond attractive. And witty enough to keep him from boredom. “I guess both."
She grins back. “River Cartwright’s waiting.”
Lamb's face hardens abruptly. "Fuck River Cartwright. He's still there?"
She laughs, aghast. “In your car, Lamb. Christ, you’re really slipping, aren’t you?”
"No I'm not,” he insists. “He's... he's..." It's hard to think clearly. The girl has thrown him off his usual game. He's finding her extremely distracting. And to have something like a bath waiting for him at the end of the day is just unbearable. This girl might be the end of him.
She's looking at me with those big innocent eyes. She's biting her lip again. And that nail is almost gnawed all the way down to the knuckle .
She's going to make him lose focus, and it's driving him mad.
“Go to work, Lamb. I’ll see you somewhere at 7. Where are we drinking?”
"Anywhere's good. What about the Gristle?" It's a nearby pub he knows she'll like. It's dark and moody - and it has a billiard table - but he also knows it'll cost about £20 to get into the place with his stink. At least he'll probably be able to get her to pay for the first round.
She shrugs. “Sounds fine. I’ll see you then. If I recognize you, of course.”
"You might remember me as the guy with all the charisma, whom you had a long, suggestive conversation with earlier,” muses Lamb. “The guy you're almost definitely going to sleep with later."
Adelaide snorts. “You’d be so lucky.”
He winks. "Oh, I don't think it's me that'll be the lucky one. I think you might even think I'm a little bit handsome after a couple of drinks. Though you might not admit that."
She crosses her arms defiantly. “I would say I’m eager to find out how you think I look after two drinks, but you could probably tell me that right now. I’m assuming you’ve already imbibed this morning?”
He slaps the desk and stands. "You're damn right I've imbibed this morning. I drank enough to make your knees shake and your tongue curl. I'm going to need a bath just to sober up.”
“Bath— good. Work also good. Go find River.”
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don't give me any more orders or we'll forget that date altogether."
She laughs lightly. “Yes, sir.”
"Don’t suck up to me, buttercup. I've already got the date. Besides… if we’re playing that game, I think I’d fancy ‘Master’ or ‘Daddy’... anything other than Sir. You’re not one of these lame fuckups around here, so don’t refer to me like you’re one. Got it?"
She blushes a deep red at this but says nothing, simply waiting for him to go off to the field.
Lamb gives a little smirk, which makes her blush even harder. Then he looks her up and down. He enjoys the way she blushes. "I expect to see you tonight, then?" he demands.
She nods. “7. The Gristle. We’ll both clean up.”
"No need for you to clean up. I'll enjoy you either way." Lamb doesn't care how it sounds. This girl is going to get what she asks for, and then he's going to have what he wants too. There'd be no need to clean anything up, as far as he's concerned. But he's not going to say that to her face; he’ll just string her along thinking she’s won… for now.

A story about a girl wanting to find out the truth
A/n: Chapter eleven already… @niallermybabe this is the new one btw!
Warnings: curse words, mentions of death
Milly’s POV:
"Did Louis call yet?" Calum asked me, standing in our kitchen, preparing the pancakes. I shook my head.
My brother had been released out of the hospital, the next day after our rather unexpected and turbulent arrival. We left two days later and now have been back in Adelaide for about two weeks. And- well. Our apology had been very emotional for both sides.
(Flashback, the day after Milly and Calum arrived in London)
"Louis, darling. I'm just gonna grab a coffee, gonna be back in a few minutes." Harry said, shooting a glance at Calum who also stood up from his chair in the hospital and said: "Yeah, I'm gonna join. Do you want something too?" Looking at me, but I only shook my head.
I still had a pounding headache from my panic attack yesterday night. Everything would help, but certainly no caffeine. Speaking from experience.
As soon as the two men left the room, I was left in silence with my big brother. There was so much to talk about, but no one was brave enough to take the first step and start talking. After the longest 2 minutes of my whole life, I finally figured, he wouldn’t say anything.
"Lou, look. I’m sorry, so sorry.“ I took a deep breath, didn’t really thought it would be so hard to say sorry to a person you grew up with. Me and Louis normally always had a really good relationship, I never would have guessed one single thing could turn it upside down. "I know you deserved better, I should’ve checked my phone and give you and Calum more information." Half way through my 'speech' I started tearing up. I truly was sorry and just wanted to fix this. I could no longer live with this broken relationship, I needed my big bro again. But I wasn’t brave enough to say that to him.
"I also owe you an apology." He finally said. I sighed in relieve.
I slowly walked towards his hospital bed and kneeled down to the floor to look at him.
Tears were shining in his eyes too.
"I shouldn’t have gotten so angry and said all these mean things to you. I just-" His voice cracked and he let out a shaky breath. "I care about you. I want to protect you. For me, you are still the little girl, building sand castles and asking me to help." I didn’t notice the tears on my cheeks, till Louis slowly wiped them away. He chuckled and continued talking. "I sometimes forget you are all grown up. And how grown up you are. I never thought, you'd turn into such a beautiful, strong and amazing woman, Milly."
This, this is my brother. How I always will remember him.
"Thank you Louis. Thank you for giving me the chance to fix this. Just remember that I am very sorry for what happened. Next time, I'll be more careful. I won’t make you worry so much again. Promise." I stood up and hugged him. Louis gave the best hugs. I saw so many posts from fans about his hugs, but to really get them, you have to experience yourself.
His hugs always make you feel so comfortable and calm. That’s what I miss the most when I'm back in Australia and not with him.
"Gonna miss you." He said while hugging me.
"Yeah, me too. Australia is too far away from home."
My brother and I agreed on calling each other once a week to stay in contact and don’t let anything come between us again. However, he mostly forgot about these calls and wasn’t home on Wednesdays. It was just a quite annoying new bad habit of my silly big bro. But honestly, I didn’t even care in the slightest. As long as us two have a fixed relationship again, I am happier than ever.
Suddenly I felt a warm hand on my left shoulder. Calum. He put down the big plate with 3 steaming pancakes down right in front of me on the table. I realized, I've been pressing my chin onto the edge my cup filled with tea for the past few minutes and now my front hair got wet from the hot steam exiting the Harry-Potter themed mug. I quickly put it down and gave Calum a little smile. I knew that both him and Niall knew how exhausting these past few days have been for me. Mentally and physically I felt just empty. Like the energy to search for my parents never even existed. I desperately wanted to continue, but right now it just didn’t seem like I actually could.
"Mills, have you thought about what you want to do for your birthday this year?" Calum asked after sitting down on the chair next to me, slowly taking a sip out of his coffee cup (we had enough arguments about the issue that coffee is just disgusting but he wouldn’t believe me, so I decided to ignore it).
"Oh… I totally forgot about that one…" My 26th birthday, on 20th of October, was only about one week away, but with all the stress over the last days I completely forgot (or ignored, who knows..) about it. What would I want to do on my birthday though?
When I was a child, my mom always gave us the opportunity to decide on an activity we could do with the whole family. I very clearly remember my 10th birthday where we went horse back riding. The little brown horse that I sat on did not want to go forward, no matter what I would do. And I, I just started crying. Out of nowhere, the horse ran away and I fell off and broke my arm. The only birthday I ever spent in the hospital.
Mom didn’t let us siblings pick any other physical sport activities for the next 3 years, much to the disappointment of Louis, a very talented football player at the time, who loved making fun of Lottie when she didn’t make a goal again.
The first few birthdays after moms passing, the siblings spent together, mostly crying in each other’s arms. Then, everyone slowly started living their own life. Louis was busy with writing songs and being a Judge at the X-Factor. I moved to Adelaide to be close to Calum and to live with him.
I would never admit it, but me and Louis held the Tomlinson-sibling-team together. After the death, Lottie, the actual older sister, simply couldn’t. So I took her part. And when it was us two, Louis and me, leaving forever, we all knew the relationship between us 7 siblings would never be the same again. Too much happened, there suddenly were too many kilometers between us.
Hence, how would I possibly want to spent this next birthday?
"Milly, are you still on earth, or did you get lost in space again?" Calum asked with a huge grin on his face.
"Yeah, yeah. I’m still here, just did a quick trip to the past again." Calum helped me a lot during the first few months after mom’s death and had to deal with a very depressive girlfriend, who either didn’t want to even get out of bed in the morning or lost herself in her work, so she could ignore the pain. I was so grateful for him, and that he never even thought about leaving me. So he obviously knew that I would sometimes get lost in the past, but he also knew how to get me on the right track again.
"I got a little idea for your birthday." He quietly said.
"Ohhh, please tell me!" I said, rather relieved, maybe it could still be a good day after all.
"Since Niall is staying a little longer, how about we throw a little garden party with Niall and Luke, Mikey and Ash? Some other people if you want to—"
I interrupted him with a sudden hug. "Yes! You are the best." I whispered in his ear. A garden party with the people closest to me made me feel comfortable and safe. That could actually work and turn this day into something nice.
But first, I deep down knew I had to go and do something different before this little party.
Calum’s POV:
You guessed it. She left him again. Well- not left left him, but she made her way to the other part of Adelaide, to the neighborhood where her parents lived before they moved away. At least that’s what she believes. Calum, however, knew the truth. The house is empty because her father died and her mom, pregnant with Milly, moved away.
When Milly announced her plans for this day last night while watching the second Kissing Booth movie (yes, they fell in love with the trilogy), he turned quite anxious. What if she finds out and cannot live with the truth, what if she falls into the deep hole again, the same hole when her mom died? He wasn’t sure if he would be able to get her out of it once again, after all that they went through together. Both of them weren’t the strongest anymore. But, right now, he couldn’t change anything anyways, so he grabbed his guitar and waited for his bandmates who announced to visit him today so they could decide on the final songs for the new album.
Right in that moment the doorbell rang.
That has to be Luke, he’s the only one who’s always too early. Quite an annoying habit if you ask Calum.
"Hey mate!" A smiling Luke said when Calum made his way to the front door and opened it. "Good to see you!"
The exchanged a quick hug and then decided to already go to the music room and wait for the other two men.
"So…is Milly here today?" Luke whispered. At first Calum reacted rather irritated. Why would he ask that? But he quickly realized, what it was for.
"No she actually had to leave today, it was very urgent." After this little- situation, where he told the three boys about Milly’s plans, he never mentioned it again. And to be honest, he didn’t really want to talk about it with them in the first place. It was something, Milly should decide on whether the band should know about it. So, since then, he always made up excuses why Milly wasn’t there.
Turns out they need lots of groceries and Milly even has to do something for work when she’s actually on vacation… he felt bad to lie to his bandmates like that, but this was the easiest way.
"Well, about her birthday present…" Luke said, but couldn’t finish the sentence because the two got interrupted by the doorbell.
Maybe they could continue this talk after the others left again. He really hoped so. Milly’s birthday present was something he had planned for almost 3 months now, if anything goes wrong, he'd be very mad and disappointed about it.
Calum and Luke greeted the two other men at the door together and quickly got back into his music room.
When he and Milly changed rooms a year ago, Calum really put all his effort into this room and tried giving it a personal touch. Milly’s old office was one of the biggest rooms on the second floor in the house, so he knew right at the beginning, he wanted to include a little sofa so he and the guys could sit down together and have a chat. He painted the walls in his favorite color, olive green, which really gave the room a cosy aesthetic. Of course there was lots of technical stuff in the room, taking up lots of space: computers, recording equipment, microphones.
But the most important part, the heart of the room, were the instruments. Calum had 3 bass guitars, 2 normal guitars and a small drums kit for Ashton in the room. Whenever Calum didn’t want to talk to anyone and just needed some time to think, he just sat down here, in this room, and hummed a melody while playing a quiet song on the guitar, it relaxed him in an admittedly strange way.
The two awards they got for Youngblood and Sounds good, feels good hanging on the wall, always reminded him, HOW lucky he got. To find these amazing three people, to tour with One Direction, to get this incredible fans, but most importantly to meet Milly, most likely the love of his life, the person he’s gonna grow old with.
"Okay, so. Let’s start easy, which songs should definitely be a single, which songs should have a video?" Ashton asked. Their manager informed them, all the songs were already recorded, they just needed to know which songs will be the final album and they need to find the right strategy to release the music.
"I think Old Me is the right choice for a music video." Micheal said into the silent room.
Calum nodded. "Yeah, Old Me kind of deserves it, doesn’t it?" He said. The song represents our story as a band and what we’ve been through. It’s very special to all of us.
„Yeah, you’re right.“ ,Micheal mentioned, "But I don’t think it'd be a good idea making it a single, it’s too- slow for that."
The day went on like this. Talking, deciding, arguing, mocking Luke. Till all three of them (finally) left and he didn’t get a chance to talk about Milly’s birthday present with Luke.
Great.
Milly’s POV:
I parked my car in the same spot that, even though I now visited it the third time, still feels so strange to me. The fact that I already got so far in the search and will probably find out even more today, made me happy on one side, but the other side of me just was scared of what I would possibly find out today. What if its too much for me to handle?
I made my way to a door, the same door I had stood in front of when Calum called me and told me Louis was in the hospital. It seemed so far away, even though it was just three weeks ago.
My heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest when I reached out to the doorbell and rang it.
Then I waited.
And waited.
And then I heard steps in the house, walking towards the door.
When the door opened, I couldn’t see the person opening it, but heard a soft woman voice.
"Hello dear, can I help you?" She asked and opened the door further so I could finally see her. She was older, probably in her 70s or 80s, had short, grey hair and wore a thick pullover with white and dark blue stripes.
The warm smile on her face made me feel more relaxed.
"Well, I don’t know if you can help me, but… well.", I took a deep breath. What can possibly go wrong with being nice and asking?, "Do you know something about the last owners of this house?" I asked, hoping for a 'yes'.
The warm smile on the woman’s face slowly faded and turned into a confused and curious look. Oh no. Of course she didn’t knew them, could’ve been too easy.
"Well, why are you asking?" Wait, maybe she still met them.
"Long story…" I said, waiting for her to say whether she has enough time to listen to what I had to say.
"I’m just an old grandma, I have time." She responded, asking me to come inside.
———————————————
The couple, whose names were Lily and Evan Hudson, lived in a small and tiny house with vintage and sometimes old furniture. You could feel that very sweet people had lived her for many many years. The history in this house was undeniable.
Lily’s husband was as lovely as herself, they were literally made for each other.
All three of us sat down in the kitchen, Lily even gave me a cup of tea.
When I told them about my story, where I grew up, the first time I came to Australia, when I moved in with Calum and the things I already found out about my parents, I saw tiny tears shining in Lily’s eyes.
Surprisingly, it felt rather easy to tell complete strangers about me and my history. I wasn’t nervous at all and did not have to cry when explaining the sudden death of my mom. Maybe that are the effects of being a lawyer, you get better at talking about particular topics and issues.
When I finished, I got compassionate looks from both of them.
Lily was the first to break the silence. "Well, this is a very fascinating story, I must say." She looked at her husband, as if she wanted to convince him to say something to me.
"Umm… yeah. And now you came here to ask us for information?" He instead said, much to the disappointment of his wife. I nodded, they weren’t angry at me, were they? Let’s just hope not…
"And of course we'd love to help you, right Evan?" Lily gave her husband a threatening look. These two were really funny, the way they were messing with each other made me chuckle slightly. In my mind, I imagined Calum and me acting like this when we’re old and grey.
I have to admit, I think about our future together quite often. There was no doubt, I wanted to grow old with him. I wanted to have a beautiful wedding with all my friends and family. I often dreamed about an amazing proposal, with lots of rose petals and him kneeling down on one knee.
But this would most likely not happen, Calum was a romantic guy, but he was extremely shy and would probably never have enough courage to propose. I knew that.
But a girl can dream, right?
"It would mean so much to me if you could tell me anything about them." I said to the couple.
"Well, so what I can tell you, is that your parents were the most nice people you can ever imagine. Just like you!" Evan responded, smiling at me. And that caused my poor heart to make a little jump. They had been nice!
"They moved here because it was the only house they could afford at the time. Holly loved talking to others and had often friends over.", Lily said, smiling and giggling when she thought about it.," She was like a social butterfly! But your dad. Oh well, he didn’t feel comfortable. Everyone could tell." Lily laughed and Evan continued talking, still having a wide smile on his face. You could definitely see, these people really liked my parents.
"When they found out Holly was pregnant, they threw a little party in their garden behind the house. We were so happy for them, they’d be the perfect parents." All these little stories made me so happy and helped me feel more connected to them. It truly helped talking to this couple. With my search and with healing my inner child.
"But- if everyone was really happy for them… why did they gave me away?" I asked, a question that had been in my mind for the last few minutes, since they started talking about Holly's pregnancy.
Lily let out a sigh and compassionately touched my arm.
"They moved away before Holly gave birth to you, we did not knew they gave you away…and to be honest, we are truly surprised that the really did" She said, not knowing she just shattered my heart to pieces.
I was so sure, I'd find out everything today. But, of course it couldn’t be that easy.
"We did knew that they left a few pictures behind though. Arthur had a troubled past and wanted to close up with that chapter by leaving these pictures behind, he told me only one day before they moved." Evan added, giving me a little bit of hope that I could still find them. Somehow. Somewhere.
"But you have no idea to which place they moved, right?" I asked, already expecting a 'no', which I received in form from a head shake.
"I- I got one final question." Lily and Evan gave me an encouraging nod, giving me some extra strength. "Were they really loving me?" Somehow, my voice started breaking and tears formed in my eyes. This was a little too much for me after all.
Lily immediately stood up from her chair and embraced me and I let out a quiet sob. My heart felt like it crushed together by these many emotions that I felt at the same time. Confusion, Anger, Sadness and Hope.
When she let go, she looked at me closely and responded: "They did, don’t you worry." And then added something that gave me even more incentive to finally meet them. "You have your father’s eyes. It’s crazy, look Evan!"
When her husband took a closer look at me, he said the same thing. " it’s true, I always thought his eyes looked like an actual piece of chocolate, yours remind me of that too."
I slightly chuckled and thanked them for helping me so much. After all, I didn’t want to stay as long. They probably had so much other stuff to do.
Without me noticing, Evan stood up and when he came back he suddenly handed me a little piece of paper with a telephone number written on it.
"I can’t promise you anything, but Ms. Jackson had been a very close friend of Holly's. Maybe she knows where they are now and how you can meet them." He said.
What. The. Hell.
I could maybe meet them?! Oh my god.
Tears started forming in my eyes again and I quickly hugged Evan, much to his surprise actually. But I didn’t care about that.
I got a number from a friend. From an actual friend of theirs.
Even when I parked my car in front of my house, I still couldn’t believe it, that I was so close to my goal. My goal that I had for years and years.
Much to my surprise, I noticed Niall's car that he loaned at the airport when he cane to Australia. Him and Calum were most likely listening to their songs together and playing around like two middle school boys. Idiots.
But at least I could tell them about my truly exciting news together!
I opened the door in Milly-style-speed and quickly started searching for the two men and finally found them in Calum music room on the second floor.
I was right.
"Mills!" Niall exclaimed when I suddenly appeared in the door frame.
Calum got up from his little chair and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. "How was it?" Strange, was it just me, or did he look quite scared? I'm probably just overthinking again, as always.
"Guess what, I got a telephone number of an old friend from my mom! She maybe still knows them!" I said, starting to jump and squealed at the end. It just was such exciting news!
Both of them joined in on my little happy dance and we spent the rest of the night, listening to Niall’s music together and eating pizza to celebrate my amazing day.

Yukai learned to lie, cheat, and break anyone that comes in her way. When she was in Highschool, she made an information empire, selling anyone’s information, dark secrets, weapons, hits, to the highest bidder.. She became the Head Writer of the Newspaper as well, which allowed her to control all the information at her school.
However, after graduating Highschool and starting to become an adult, Yukai, broke. She finally couldn’t take the constant pressure that her mother and father had put on her. The constant pressure to be the best, to be good. So she cut off all her long hair and ran away. Changing her name and never looking back..
Yukai is slowly learning how to love herself, and to repay for what she has done. Thankfully she has her Best friend Are, and her new girlfriend Odo, to have a support system.

Tobias Carrick Appreciation Day 2
Like yesterday, I will be answering both last years prompts along with both from this year.
Starting with Last Year, Tell us about the rise & fall of his friendship with Ethan. What was the story of their mutual crush? What kind of student was he? What was his rep? And what happened to him during the years between Hopkins and when we met him again in Book 2?
Well, during his and Ethan's time at Hopkins, they were good friends who both have a lot of competitiveness in them, both for their work and who they dated. Ethan dated "Hopkins Girl" (Still figuring her character out) for the entire spring semester of their first year at Hopkins until halfway through that next fall semester.
(Continuation below)
Tobias was interested in "Hopkins Girl" since Ethan introduced the two of them but didn't want to ruin the friendship he had with Ethan. After seeing that Ethan was number 1 in the class by one point ahead of him, Tobias started to get jealous. Around this time he found out that Ethan and "Hopkins Girl" were on the rocks. He decided to try and become source of comfort for "Hopkins Girl", which started their relationship and ended his friendship with Ethan. Tobias and "Hopkins Girl" dated for around a year and a half until she broke up with him because she regretted the way they got together. He went on some casual dates but never anything truly lasting until Adelaide.
After Hopkins, he did his residency in New York before transferring to Mass Kenmore.
Now onto this year's prompts, Tobias randomly buys a lottery ticket while getting his morning coffee. Turns out it's the winner, and he's just won $50 million dollars. What does he do?
I think he would do a couple things with it. First he would put some of it away as emergency money, like repairs, unexpected medical expenses, etc. Then he would give some to his mom (Naomi) and sister (Maria). He would then put some in the bank to save for anything in the future (whether it being his and Adelaide's wedding if it is before they get married, their future kids college funds, etc.) Then he would also try to try and put some in another account to gain interest. And lastly he would give some money to organizations he truly believed in.
And for the other prompt from this year, Does he have friends? A lot or a select few? Are they deep friendships or more frivolous? Who (if anyone) is his best friend? His oldest friend? His newest friend? Does he let friends from different worlds interact with each other? What's he like as a friend? Would his friends consider him a good friend? Feel free to share anything about your Tobias' friendships with us!
Most of his friends as of recent years are his colleagues (Ethan, Claire, Harper, etc.). But also Adelaide is as well and his mom and sister. He had a few true friends in high school that he goes for an occasional drink with (sometimes by himself, sometimes he brings Adelaide), and then the "friends" from high school that said they were friends because he had a popularity status (once he was in high school). He tries to spend time with friends as much as he can and his close friends would say he is a good friend.
