ok so basically, Iwa finds the wrists a very delicate part of the body, and given his experience as a volleyball player, and the nature of his job, he takes extra special care of them.

he remembers his coaches always reminding him and his teammates not to injure their wrists during training, which translates to "YOU BETTER HAVE GOOD FORM WHILE SPIKING, SERVING AND SETTING, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

anyway, i think he started noticing wrists when he was in high school, especially since he was seijoh's ace and had to use his wrists a lot to spike. he probably injured his wrist(s) once and has always listened to his coaches ever since.

now that he's a professional volleyball trainer he makes sure that his athletes don't injure their wrists either.

so i think all of this adds to why he pays extra attention to your wrists especially.

bonus if your job requires you to use or rely on your wrists a lot, eg. musician (like me), athletes, surgeon, author, artist, etc... idk.

Post-extermination!Lute x fem reader? Where lute is trying to show that she's still good/strong enough for reader and she can still be independent. Along with reader comforting Lute about how she's still perfect for her. (Details and examples below bc i enjoy rambling sorry)

I imagine that after loosing her arm lute would be very showy about overcompensating for it. And that if reader even tried to treat her bit differently, like being more SLIGHTLY gentle/careful with her, lute would get offended tell her to knock it off.

Lute's a strong woman, pre-extermination her carried reader alllll the time. Post-extermination Lute would most certainly still try too (and surprisingly succeeds somehow) despite the reader's worries of being dropped or being too heavy for 1 arm.

This ranges from trying to hold all the groceries alone to trying to prove she's still good in the bedroom by not allowing the reader to help (like she'd literally tell reader to let her do it alone)

a/n: 0.9k words of me making fun of toji. a terrible crack fic i dont even know whether this is funny or not but ofc this is gifted to @kazushawty after making fun of her for changing her themes sm. briefly based off this fking ask from anon, i added that same charity box LMFAO / badly written p -> v sex, no foreplay, man idek whether you guys want warnings 😭😭

“baby, did you manage to get the—” karma turns at the creak of the door, but stops abruptly upon seeing toji enter through the door, which wasn’t exactly a proper door, more made of cardboard because he had punched through it once. the writer would’ve replaced it, but toji was always out killing sorcerers, and that made it difficult to go shopping for a door where they could be seen and identified everywhere. plus, karma was susceptible to complaints by toji at times for picking a door too expensive.

“why do you look like that…” toji’s hair was all over the place, shirt crumpled and chest heaving from probably running over.

“got us some change.” he grinned, showing karma the charity box he forcibly yanked from the counter. it was hilarious in retrospect, seeing such a big burly man attempt to order some mcdonald’s for him and his girl, but got distracted by the spare change in the charity box that’s installed to the counter. it was no problem for him, since he had already scared everyone with that big ass worm on his shoulders, and with one clean sweep of his sword he was able to dislodge it. his stupid face was sure to get plastered in posters all over the store now.

“are you serious, toji?” karma crossed her arms, clearly displeased, and yet the dishevelled state toji was in reminded her of the many nights he had her under him, panting and out of breath as both him and the worm stared down at her—

“what? a little theft doesn’t hurt anyone, doll.”

Yeah no big surprises here. I don't even know if I can articulate why I like him so much. He's one of the main characters (although you'd be forgiven for thinking he wasn't) so he's in the show a lot, and there's a lot of little breadcrumbs to work off of even if he doesn't get Big Stuff too often. Like most of the time he's just a drunk dumbass dad who sucks in every way, and btw he's a godlike shot. He's a judo expert. He can place Time of Death super precisely somehow. He's willing to chase down an armed robber with zero regard for his personal safety.

He's such a stagnant character in canon that he's one of the most fun to Do Shit With. Like what if he knows about Conan's identity? What if he found out? What if he's not as stupid as he seems, at least not all the time? What if he found out about the black org? What if he's the black org boss???? (Ridiculous but an interesting thought experiment.) What if what if what if-- Because there's all these little pieces of his character that have made him compelling I'M PRETTY SURE BY ACCIDENT. Making him one of the show's best shooters right under Akai is a fking insane detail and it was made up for Movie 2 when Gosho wanted to make him bad at that too, like he likes to make Kogoro bad at everything.

I criticized Sera for being Good At Everything and Canon Kogoro is the opposite, he's made bad at everything as a joke, which makes the strengths he's allowed to have shine brightest. Because it makes you question how he got those skills, and how he still turned out like this. Can he ever get better? If not for himself, then for someone else?

as a young child growing up, yeonsu was very naturally talented at everything he learned and picked up from academics to physical training! he also had great relations with his parents and grandparents

wasn't exactly doted on but was regarded with as much respect as the growing heir apparent could get so that he would understand his role from a young age versus being treated as a usual child would be

at 12, yeonsu was kidnapped during a large town celebration hosted by the villagers after the house of gladiolus supported them against an issue with the nobility. it was clear that families of the nobility were behind the kidnapping however there wasn't any concrete evidence to pinpoint which families were responsible for hiring kidnappers

a ransom was demanded for yeonsu's life along with certain demands to accommodate the nobility. however, the yi family came to odds against each other between deciding how to save yeonsu and what was the right thing to do for the people as a whole

during this time, yeonsu was able to escape from his kidnappers after finding a moment of opportunity. he was chased to a town far from beonhwa where he found refuge within a poor town - collapsing in front of a small farmer family that took him in.

yeonsu's escape was kept secret from the yi family as the kidnappers continued to hunt him down. he was only able to survive after being hidden in a home full of sick villagers where he then fell ill with pneumonia from being exposed to the sick along with all the distress his body and mind were under.

eventually, the kidnappers stopped looking for yeonsu and it was reported to the yi family that yeonsu was killed due to their inability to pay the ransom or accommodate the nobles.

for his safety, his adoptive mother encouraged yeonsu to assume a new identity as one of their children until someone from his family came to retrieve him - unaware of his true background. from a poor farming family in a town barely able to sustain itself, there was no one that would be able to truly protect yeonsu or provide him safe passage back to beonhwa.

thus, yeonsu became chae dohwan. as the years passed by with no one from the yi family ever coming to search for yeonsu, he slowly let go of the hope that he would ever be found and truly began assimilating into his life as dohwan.

after 15 years, yeonsu was finally pulled back to his past and true identity when his true birth mother suddenly showed up after hearing about yeonsu through many attempts of contact from his adoptive mother.

with his true identity confirmed and restored, yeonsu was immediately whisked back to beonhwa to return to his rightful place as the heir apparent of the gladiolus house.

personality

yeonsu is going through A LOT of internal conflict and strife!! it's only been about three months since he's returned. short enough of a time to still feel out of place, but long enough to have a routine established.

kind of feels like impostor syndrome but? he's the real deal hello! how do you deal with that?! aka he's feeling suffocated on top of all the other negative feelings!

he's in an odd place of reassimilating into the lifestyle of those in beonhwa

for one, he misses his family dearly and is struggling with trying to reconnect with his original family after finding out the truth all these years that they had believed he was dead this entire time

from the fifteen years he's lived as a poor farmer, there are a lot of things about politics, luxury, power, and the people of beonhwa that yeonsu is having a hard time accepting with ease

but wait! underneath all the commotion dotion yeonsu is actually a heckin great guy! smart, strong, talented! and super control of his emotions actually which is why he hasn't lashed out or anything. he just needs to catch a break!

a huge feast is being held at the house of gladiolus officially celebrating yeonsu’s return. it’s too much though and yeonsu wishes he was anywhere but there. while muse sneaks around the estate to secretly find a quite place, yeonsu follows to join them.

muse doesn’t know that know or realize that yeonsu is the newly returned heir apparent of the gladiolus house. they catch him on the street interacting with non-nobles and start treating him like one of them ! (could be a positive or negative interaction!)

[ claimed ] in a field near the outskirts of beonhwa, yeonsu has found a moment to escape. muse comes across yeonsu by chance - hidden by the thick grassy field, and lays down to join him.

Werewolf Travis is such a treat to imagine because, well. You know why. Best Boy Travis- coughcoughcough.

Uh, what I mean is, tall + well built + determined is not what you want in your rage-fueled pursuer. I like to think that he's pretty cunning too, like that scene from Jurassic Park where Muldoon tries to shoot Deinonychus then another one pops out of the bush right next to him and he says 'clever girl'. Travis uses his environment well. Blends into surroundings, climb up the trees for better view, when one entrance is blocked look for another etc.

Despite being bigger and more vicious than other werewolves, he's an ambush hunter. Think about his Ninja-level stealth. When he's human it's already impressive, but you won't even see the beast before you feel its maws ripping open your neck. There's also his reflex. He's more of a fucking cat than a pupper if you see how fast he snatches away Laura's wrist from the gun. You fail QTE, Laura attempts to sedate him, Travis blocks her wrist with his forearm. One firm tap! Syringe gone. Fking precise. Always careful, careful, careful. He exerts bare minimum of strength and effort, only the right amount that's needed for the job. His movements are methodical, you see that right? Even the steps look careful. Now imagine how meticulous he could be when hunting his prey.

Another thing, chasing people is his job. Police right? That and 6 years of hunting Silas. You cannot outrun him, especially in the forest. His feet are light as feather, no protruding roots or overhanging branches can deter him. He'll rather toy with you. Why end the fun short? He's been holding back for so long! The curse enables a person's primary side to literally tear out of their civil mask and show itself as a physical manifestation. His Id has been denied for, how long?

We know Travis is hella disciplined, and I love that about him, how hard he works for anything. Family and his job, both he takes so seriously, always putting them before his own needs. Now flip the coin. Werewolf Travis cares about one thing and one thing only: What he wants. Anger him, he kills you. Hungry? Snack time. Hmm bored. He got you in his sight. The hunt is on. Imagine all that dedication poured into his own selfish desire. That is the monster from the old stories right there. Wimpy counselors don't stand a goddamn chance, we need an actual hunter, soldier, any character that knows how to fight and survive.

Also he's a lone wolf. His human side already had enough of his family. You can't tell me he doesn't enjoy the peace and quiet, the freedom and solitude the transformation brings. Near dawn he'll run away, finds a shallow burrow under a tree stump or something, swipe some comfy leaves in there and sleep in his den. Later he finds a dead tree nearby with a small gap in it, hides some spare clothes there so he doesn't have to wake up, wait until night and wander through the forest back home in his birthday suit ever again.

Final boss Travis. God if he were a playable character.....no, no. He's too powerful, best he could be was a support character. At least until dawn characters level badassery is needed to deal with werewolf him. Him being bit at the very end of the game was a small mercy for all of them.

In the route where he got shot in the cell, he was bleeding quite a lot, and yet later he's at family home. Isn't he supposed to like...be resting. Jesus. Carries on like there isn't a bullet hole in him. Got punched the fuck outta his mind by werewolf Laura, hard enough his head got whipped to the side, crashes into a mirror, recovers quickly, grabs a shard, notices it's silver backed, the guy's level-headed alright damn. Arm got munched on, it's shredded, he doesn't scream. He uses that arm like his muscle isn't all torn up and skin chewed open. His pain tolerance is gooood.

I bet if werewolf Travis is charging at you, and you fire a few normal bullets at him, he'll just shrug them off and pounce. If he's close enough he'll just, fucking, dash through the raining bullets, endure a few hits on the way, and kill, unlike other werewolves that are scared away by gunshots. He doesn't whimper, he doesn't whine, or howl. He growls. Snarls. Roars into the night. He's so fucking angry. He'll rip you apart.

But all this reading on this page makes me feel shit with the og!Penny, I know that Penny's change in the manwha is because of Cha Siyeon and her personality is much tamer than her original self, but man it makes me wanna cry at the abuse she originally took. And the analysis you've done on this page makes me always hurt for the torture og!Penny had to take cos of Laila. I don't know how she could forgive all of them since they killed her so many times, especially the Eckharts who abused her. It's really hard to picture any of them with a happy ending with og!Penny, Cha Siyeon could only forgive them to a degree since she was a fragment of the if's soul who couldn't rmb her pain from the past. Being emotionally abused like that is torture, the fact that og!Penny still tried to save them is so heartbreaking. And they would have had the same fate as Cha Siyeon's family where Siyeon left them, because she associated them with her personal pain she rmbs and not the one og!Penny felt originally. WHAT WAS NOT FINE, WAS THE FACT THAT WHEN IT WAS REVEALED THAT SHE WAS A SHARD OF THE OG!PENELOPE'S SOUL, WE FAST-FORWARDED TO THE EPILOGUE AND THAT THEY WERE MORE OR LESS FORGIVEN.

ok i'm slightly more calmed down. I hate the "you were always a part of the original Penelope!! \o/ " because then it's more tragic. The Eckharts only started loving Penelope and treating her better when she didn't have the trauma and memories of their neglect and abuse, and when she was more obedient. It almost creates this narrative of "if you hurt them and break them down long enough, they'll assimilate" and it shows that abuse "makes people better" in their eyes.

Like eventually, og!Penelope had to break and be submissive, and thus "she was finally good enough to be part of the family—" NO.

yes I realize I was wrong in a previous assumption, and the fact that SIYEON, A MODERN WOMAN, was so willing to participate in slavery is kind of very disturbing(even for her own survival), especially since she was basically treated badly in her own home, and probably treated as a capitalist slave when she worked multiple jobs— still not an Eckles stan, he can still go die for all I care.

Series 3 Episode 13: The Last of the Time Lords

So, Last of the Time Lords. Can it make sense of the incredible stakes of that cliffhanger? Let’s give it a watch and see.

Haha no it can’t. I mean, it does a good job at showing this warped and ruined Earth. But the way this episode finds a solution is so silly. Everyone thinks The Doctor’s name, and he then de-ages and starts floating like he’s a fking angel. He swats The Master’s weapon out of his hands and then forgives him. The Master then teleports them onto the ground and threatens to destroy the Earth with some sorta black hole bomb in all the ships. Then The Doctor says “that’s cap you’d never kill yourself” and The Master hands over the weapon. They go back onto the ship and The Master gets SHOT by his wife (which comes outta nowhere, the only time there was any inkling she was on Doc’s side was in the prayer scene). And then he REFUSES to regenerate and dies, even though his Plan B got called off just because as a character he wasn’t supposed to kill himself?? what?????? So yea the Earth gets restored by blowing up the paradox machine via gun and only those on the ship retain the memories of what happened. Doc just magic’s his TARDIS back and yea that’s it. This is what happens when stakes get too high and you don’t think of the solution when creating the problem. Things just start to not make sense.

On a brighter side, I like the conclusion this episode gives for both Captain Jack and Martha. Jack gets to reunite with his Torchwood team and hints that he’s the FACE OF BO which is a really cool plot twist ngl. And then Martha. Oh MARTHA YES she gets the ending she deserves. She tells The Doctor about how she needs to stay to look after her family, and also how she needs to “get out” to avoid having her entire life stolen by an alien who won’t look twice at her. GOD I love this ending because you’re thinking in so many episodes that she should just leave and The Doctor is hella mistreating her and having her mature and finally recognise this is so fking cool. She does come back in errr, 5 episodes time tho so there won’t be much of a break sfdlkgjh.

TL:DR/Overview: This episode is a confusing mess that makes no sense, and one that contradicts itself on several occasions. This episode also has one of the best companion exits ever. Now where the hell do I rank it sflkj. I think I’m going C tier. Without the good character moments with Jack and Martha near the end, this episode would be near irredeemable, and whilst I do love those character moments, it’s not enough to save it from being ultimately a very lacklustre finale.
