merlin’s secret being a visual thing. when he is around arthur or gwen or leon or morgana or [insert whatever character here] merlin seems pale and thin, almost like a ghost or an apparition. when the sun lands on him he reflects it like a corpse, he eyes seem dark and dull. he has this ethereal beauty to him, this otherworldly visage that leads many to believe he is of fae blood. he just doesn’t seem to be 100% human. but when he is ONLY with lancelot or gaius (cough or gwaine bc gwaine DEFINITELY knew) merlin is heartachingly human. merlin shines in the sunlight, colors are brighter and more vibrant around him, and his smiles are wide and his laughs are boisterous. he takes on color and leaves everyone wanting to know him. but when other join in or interact with the two, merlin shifts before their eyes so quickly and suddenly that they aren’t sure whether or not what they saw was a trick of the light. the idea still leaves them wanting more and wanting to see the merlin who is just so full of life but that merlin only appears for a small select group of people. merlin who has a guard so high that it has an effect of other’s perception of him.

so think ive settled for something of original spring bonnie.. took inspiration from the glitchtrap design and his ears are springs so they bounce around when he moves.

and you know how the old animatronics of chuck e cheese and rock-afire explosion looked unsettling so was going for that realistic animal animatronic look for why the newer spring bonnie (springtrap) looks more rounder and cartoony to be more kids friendly but isnt friendly at all... old spring bonnie however, tho looking evil and a little scary is very nice <3

I saw Wicked yesterday and it was pretty cute, I’d have liked it more if I were normal about The Wizard of Oz, but I am not. So, it was cute.

I like the strange little poly thing they have goin on, tho it feels close enough to the ol love triangle trope that I was a little irritated, but it was fine

It was very well produced, and as far as modern major Hollywood movies go, it was very good

there are some questions i get often at work that are just like. be for real. like “why are you wearing a mask” and “should I be wearing a mask?” because how would you like me to answer that.

1) i see a minimum of 10k people a year. we’re going into turn of the century tunnels. there’s probably asbestos and there’s DEFINITELY rat feces. and all of you people have just gotten off a plane or a cruise ship and you’re typhoid mary. why AM i wearing a mask?????

2) we literally say “masks recommended” everywhere, and you’re literally going into a completely unventilated basement with 50 tourists with mold and dust and probably asbestos. yes, you probably should!!!!

but my livelihood depends on tips at the end of the tour, so I have to say “oh, there’s so much dust and I’m talking the whole time 🙂” instead of “probably, you fucking idiot”

but then there’s also completely reasonable questions that i simply don’t have an answer to. like, “what’s your favorite tunnel on the tour?” because i’ve done this tour for six years. easily upwards of 1,500 tours. it’s like asking what my favorite hallway is in my house. also, there’s the aforementioned rats and asbestos and everything. my whole job is functionally doing a magic trick so people don’t notice that they’re walking through crumbling basements. so uh. i don’t have a favorite.

Leo’s love for magicians and magic shows isn’t brought up enough tbh, because it directly ties into the idea of a persona and fooling the audience’s eyes to see something that’s not actually there. This connects to his love of performance in general but also ties into why he struggled so much with his mystic powers.

Magic tricks are exactly that, tricks, a performance, masked actions hiding the truth. Meanwhile mysticism is intrinsically linked to the self and so Leo’s difficulty in even unmasking to himself is a big part of his journey that he continues to struggle with and in this essay I will-

see I am very disjointed from a lot of nine/ten fandom discourse because I genuinely believe that in a different world where space boy was not to be seen, had an older Rose gone to the hospital and bumped into a certain Doctor Jones by a vending machine or as she was taking Rose’s vitals, she would have instantly hit it off with Martha. and probably flirted with her a little on accident and then on purpose when Martha flirted back

I’ve just read The Magic Trick You Didn’t See (Good Omens theory—highly suggest a read, it’s incredible)

Holy hell. A million thanks to @ariaste for that gorgeous discourse. It made me emotional! An *essay* made me *emotional* — I’m still in awe.

Anyway, it inspired me to do a (slightly conspiratorial) rewatch. I’ve hit pause so many times already, and I’m not even past the episode one intro 💀

However I happened to notice something in the intro that made me even more sure that The Magic Trick really is onto something. The whole idea is that Neil’s been 1) pulling a “disappearing trick” throughout season two—leading us away from the truth and ultimate “payoff” via distraction and 2) hiding things in plain sight. You know what that sounds like? A red herring. And what do I find in the intro? A whole bucket of ‘em. Quite literally.

I truly believe that everything in this show—especially the intro, as beautiful as it is—is done for a reason. The attention to detail thus far has been insane (much like myself, at present), and I don’t see why that wouldn’t continue into season two. If the Magic Trick—or a similar theory—turns out to be true, you’d best believe the crew’s left clues all over the place. And I’d call this a Clue with a capital C.
