Something I really like about timebomb is that Ekko actually knows what he's getting into.

I'm not really seeing it get talked about but in season 1 they mention that Ekko and the firelights help people addicted to shimmer get off it and lead more fulfilling lives within the community. I should probably rewatch the scene for the exact wording (might be misremembering tbh) but that comment implies A LOT.

First: Ekko's mission is helping people where he can, he would probably try and help Jinx even if he wasn't in love with her

Second: He has experience dealing with severe mental illness as that often goes hand in hand with drug abuse, namely depression/suicidal ideation like what Jinx was exhibiting

Third: He's probably mapped out best course of action FOR dealing with this and has already figured out his own limits/boundaries. Meaning he knew what he was getting into trying to talk Jinx out of suicide, and was thus more equipped to deal with the aftermath

Fourth: He's probably helped ex members of Silco's gang. The firelights seem to have a theme of healing and repairing and recovering, so they've probably also learned to forgive. If they're mission is to rebuild the lanes into a safe space, they can't exclude people they don't like, they have to make room for them. I think they fought Silco out of necessity, and I doubt Jinx would be the first person they help who's killed one of them.

These all might be a bit of a stretch but I think it really fits. Beyond that, it shows that Ekko can ACTUALLY help Jinx. As much as unconditional love can do, Ekko has the tools for Jinx's recovery and a path ready for her. He also probably knows that her "healthy" will look different from AU Powder's "healthy." On top of that, I expect he knows how to respect her even in the middle of psychotic breaks and won't agitate her already frail mental state

while there's a lot of nonsense and chaos in the air right now, I've been using 5calls to call my reps pretty consistently, and here are some things I have learned from doing that: -practice makes perfect, I am so much less nervous now than I was two weeks ago -scripts are great and helpful, but honestly I've had better luck using them as a base and making it personal. Talking about how I am a trans dude who really wants to stay in my state and does not want to have to flee the country and if they could please help with that has gone over VERY well. I'm in a blue state, so ymmv. -picking a single issue to call about each day / every few days helps focus my emotional energy -you can just be like "I'm mad and I want you to do something." that's fine. the call is what matters. -it literally takes like 2 minutes it's so fast actually is this going to singlehandedly fix anything? no. not at all, but it makes me feel better, gives me a useful place to put my fear and anger, and lets me push my very-annoyingly-center-left reps further to the left. they cannot escape me. I will be a thorn in their side until I die

Wade looses his voice right then and there, his mouth closes with an audible click, his body goes stiff with tension and looks up the ceiling like "Yeah, ok, great chat, Yep, was great, good talk, mhm, cool..." trying to hold back tears, that comment really shot straight to his heart.

Meanwhile Stone silently reaches for his phone to scroll mindlessly, both of them feel empty and alone while sharing the bed.

Howdy! I´ve been meaning to contribute to this community for a long long time! Without further ado, enjoy:

Colton had packed a weeks’ worth of rations, sure, but only for his horse and not for himself. Perhaps if he´d turned around as soon as he realized this, he could have still made it in time. However, he´d already dawdled quite a bit at the bar before heading out and he reasoned that if he made his client wait any longer, the man might get worried that he´d died!

He couldn´t just make his new client worry like that, it wasn´t right, and he´d rather starve than have his horse Beans overexert itself. No, he´d just have to go hungry for a little bit, it was the right thing to do. He´d be fine. He had a slow metabolism, after all, barely needing two meals a day to feel full. Maybe his stomach would grumble a little, maybe he´d get a bit of a stomach ache but he´d make it to Windy Stone in exactly one week, right on time.

Three days in, he realized that maybe he´d underestimated the severity of this “stomach ache”.

How do u get your faces/expressions to look like that TEACH MEEEE

with my faces? honestly the best advice i can give is like. whenever i notice a face looks off, it usually has to do with the eyes. they're either too large, or too high up on the face (its very common), or spaced out too much. tbh the second i switched from glittery anime eyes to a more simple style of them i improved EXPONENTIALLY lmao especially when it comes to my expressions

^^^ simplistic eyes also means you can get a little more liberal with the shape, which helps when you're trying to do more dynamic expressions imo. just depends on the style youre going for really. never be afraid to go "off model"

uhhh im not as capable of articulating my process with art as i am with writing because im less confident in it lmao but i'll try and get my thoughts down ... tbh a lot of it is just. little lines for me. the rebecca sugar method i suppose. the line under the eye to represent stress/exhaustion honestly carries my expressions ... that and doing it with the mouth especially, when im trying to represent strain. pushing the nasolabial folds/making them visible especially helps. chin creases when crying too, a little concave line under the mouth if their lip is supposed to be wobbling, you know.

also specifically when it comes to Teetlez i really like that they dont actually have any irises, which is usually why i dont draw them with very traditional eyes because it means i can make them emote like cats. people's pupils already do constrict when they're stressed/alarmed and dilate when they're relaxed but its very easy to push here especially (actually one of the biggest reasons i draw wwww!leo exclusively with cat-eye slits is because i want to imply he's Always stressed lmao). also i dont mind exaggerating the shape of them/making them look more unconventional if im trying to get something across, like the way i make cc!donnie's pupils get all big and wavering and watery when he's sad. i think its cute

Hey! I am nearly finished reading TAMN (owie) and I just wanted to say that I've never seen the guilt of hiding emotions portrayed so well before. I was halfway through before I realised. Oh. I am Grian. And it was just so incredible to see words put to things I've gone much of my life with without realising exactly what they are. The fear of getting close to people because either you're going to hurt them or they're going to hurt you. The fear of loved ones getting close to people because why would they want to stay with you when there are so many better options. The guilt of hurting those closest to you without knowing how to stop or fix it because the moment push comes to shove, you fall right back into those awful defense mechanisms.

Anyway, it really helped me understand a part of myself better, and now I can actively try to do something about it, which is honestly such a relief, especially since I'm planning to start trying to date soon (19 years and not one relationship because. The Fear.) and I don't want to handle it better than G.

Idk if I communicated this well At All, but what I'm TRYING to say is thank you <3

(Also, as a writer myself, the whiplash of crying at the angsty bits while simultaneously nerding out about the good writing was. An experience lol)

It's really flattering for us as authors to hear how much people relate and resonate with Grian in our fic. Especially when his actions help them see something about themselves. I think one of the most important and biggest things about Grian (to me) is that, even with all his flaws and his self-sabotage and insecurity, he is still incredibly loved and appreciated, and the people who meet him still really like him, no matter how much he sometimes hates and sabotages himself. He's absolutely a frustrating character at times, and being in his head can be an exercise in testing your own patience, but we hope we showed that at the core him- as with everyone- there's a person worth the love that gets heaped upon him, and that his journey is one of learning to let that love in, and trust that it will remain there through the night and into the next day.

There's always time to grow and change, and we're all forever on a journey of subtle (and sometimes drastic) self improvement. Luckily most of us won't have to go through a zombie apocalypse to force growth the way Grian did, however. (And I'm soooo grateful for that lmao. The lack of showers and wifi would have me snapping on day one, lbr.)

that apparently took place in Paris in 1849.

It's a 4 pages long play, divided in two scenes, in which Camille recites a monologue in his prison cell (???)

On the note of the last "disability rights to do fuck all" reblog: I don't know what environmentalist/vegan needs to hear this, but "humans are parasites" is literally Ableism 101, regardless of whether or not you claim you're only talking about "the capitalists" and not the disabled community when you say it.

And I'm not just talking about the harm that phrase does to disabled people who can't support themselves on their own — I'm also talking about disabled people who need things that aren't considered "environment/animal-friendly" in order for them to live with dignity, or live at all.

If you're willing to resort to dehumanizing language when you see someone using a plastic straw or eating an animal product, then I don't fucking trust your plan for a post-capitalist solarpunk utopia or whatever to be a safe place for disabled people, of any form.

Macaque really needs to scream about wukong being willing to die for mk but not willing to live for mac, and not willing to let macaque die with him. Does he hate macaque that badly? Does he truly want macaque to be away from him forever?

the sad irony is that even the Wukong in the past probably would not have given up his immortality for MK. this is very much a Eleanor “if she was always capable of change, then that means i just wasn’t worth changing for” from the Good Place scenario

Wukong was always capable of change, but it had to be done by HIMSELF which, unfortunately, was made when MacBook was no longer in the picture of his life. and i think Mac, by s4 recognizes that, but the pain is still there. the hurt is still there. it can’t be instantly removed even while being aware that nothing he could have done in the past would have changed the outcome. and, in my humble opinion, there’s still an ounce of jealousy and resentment that he sees in how Wukong treats MK and their relationship

so yeah, i can see Mac, emotionally compromised and reeling from death and a tangible Wukong right in front of him, snapping and telling Wukong off, breaking into tears as he shouts “WHY NOT ME? WHY COULDN’T YOU DO THIS FOR ME?”

but Mac knows why (or maybe he thinks he does). he knows they no longer share the same closeness as they did millennia ago. he knows they are not a relationship that takes up precedence (but it was progressing towards something….something Mac hoped for)

and he aches. he aches for it like when Wukong admitted his renewed trust. like when Wukong looked at Mac for reassurance following MK’s speech. like how they worked in tandem battling enemies. like how Wukong reached for him when the world was set to end

I've started playing Potion Permit, and so far it's one of my favorite games I've messed around with, but the most big brained move the devs made was giving you a dog on day 1, and then making that dog able to track NPCs and lead you directly to them no matter where they are in the town.
