Reposting this, because it would seem a post won’t show up in search if it has a certain word in it. ANYWAY, this is a followup to something I posted a couple weeks ago, about Sig and the Crimson Soul merging peacefully. There’s some details beneath the cut, and if you want to know of the basis of the story you can read about it here!
After Sig reached an agreement with the demon that once dwelled inside the Tome of Sealing, the Cyan and Crimson Souls have merged together and now occupy the same body. Initially, they exist as a plural individual with two distinct personalities: Sig, the original owner of the body; and what remains of the being once known as the Aethereal. Over time, the two will blend together into a true whole that is both Sig and the Aethereal, with neither one replacing the other.
Collectively, they still go by the name "Sig," but the latter personality has agreeed to also answer to the alias "Aya" while still distinct, for clarity's sake.
Sig himself hasn't changed much. He still loves bugs, still spaces out when unstimulated, and still isn’t phased by much (as long as nobody's in danger). He's very chill, and is almost impossible to rile up. He speaks softly and plainly, and appears completely stoic (if not apathetic) to the unfamiliar. Those that knew him beforehand have noted that he's in fact more expressive than he used to be, nor is he as sleep-prone. Sig doesn't care much for tidiness, but can really only be called a slob when compared to Aya.
Aya is significantly more expressive than Sig, with embellished speech and dramatic gesures. She is a biliophile to the extreme and will devour any book that isn't hot garbage (and if you were the one to recommend it, she will let you know). She can really only be called easily-agitated or high-strung when compared to Sig, in that she can become irate with sufficient provocation, and has more hot-button issues than Sig does. Among said hot-button issues is clenliness: she is an unparalleled neat freak.
Despite differences in speech, both are bluntly honest and direct. They can be difficult to engage in conversation or other social activity (aside from Puyo battling), especially with those they are unfamiliar with. Only Amitie seems to best know how to engage with either of them at any given time (though Klug has a distant second-best track record with Aya).
When both are awake, they are capable of conversing with each other unaided, but it's not always easy or successful, especially with a lot of distractions. They have a notebook that they keep with them to write down anything especially important to share with the other (especially if said other is asleep at the moment), or if the alternative is too troublesome.
The first physical change that was outwardly apparent was the change in the color of their eyes, shifting from a red left eye and blue right, to two purple eyes-- a perfect balance between human and demon. Next to change was their right arm growing and developing claws, becoming a perfect match to their left. Before long, it became clear that their hair was no longer growing in its normal sky blue, but instead a royal violet.
As time passed and the two began to blend together, more changes set in. Their body became both more demonic and more androgynous. Most worrying to Amitie was their eyes once more shifting to all-red-- but Sig was certain that it was merely a sign of the blend's progress, that once fully red it would be a sign of completion, and assured Amitie that they weren't going anywhere. By a year's passing, it was actually painful to try to distinguish what was "Sig" and what was "Aya," so they preferred to not attempt to call any of it into question.
Just as Aya had promised, there had been no attempt to displace Sig in all his Sig-ish-ness. They became more assertive and eloquent, and more inclined to read than to stare off into space, but the kindness and care (and love for bugs) that the rest of the magic school's student body were familiar with was just as present as they had always been. As was their penchant to not pay attention to what was happening around them.
Sig was still and would continue to be Sig, loved and appreciated just as they are.

People think intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is 'You're safe with me' - that's intimacy.

TBR: July 2018
Hello! In the month of June, all the novels I read were in the YA and fantasy genres (which I will discuss in my June wrap up). This month I hope to read a wider variety of books. Sometimes it is easy for me to stick to a TBR but other times I read whatever I am in the mood to read that day. Here is my projected TBR for July in no particular order!
Tyler Johnson was Here by Jay Coles
Short Summary: Marvin follows his twin brother, Tyler, to a party however the next day Marvin turns up missing. A video is released and shows that Marvin was shot and killed by a police officer. Marvin seeks justice while dealing with his grief.
My thoughts: I am very excited to read this book because I have heard nothing but great things about it. I try to avoid books that are centered around tragedy because I like the escapism aspect of reading. However, I feel reading this novel that deals with police brutality is extremely important and impactful.
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Short Summary: Charlie’s older sister is getting married and her entire family is reuniting for the wedding. Everything starts to fall apart with the wedding planner canceling last minute and family drama.
My Thoughts: I have only started one other Morgan Matson book which I did not finish so I am hoping I will love this one! The novel takes places over a short period of time (3 days) which I absolutely love. I love weddings and am addicted to wedding shows. I am the youngest in my family (like Charlie, the main character) and my oldest sister got married a few years so I can’t want to find some similarities between my life and Charlie’s.
Smoke in the Sun by Renee Adhieh
Short Summary: This is the second and final book to the Flame in the Mist duology.
My Thoughts: Any kind of summary I give with spoil the first book. I remember absolutely loving the first book when I read it last year. I am actually 70 pages into this book but I put it down because I realized I didn’t remember the first book as well as I thought I did. Like the first book, the second book switches between different POVs. I forgot about that and honestly haven’t been loving that aspect of the book. Hopefully, when I continue reading it I’ll end up loving it as much as the first one!
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
Short Summary: Eelyn is a viking who has been fighting her tribe’s rival all her life. After she loses her brother, she sees again five years later fighting with her rival tribe.
My Thoughts: Everything about this novel sounds so interesting! I used to watch the TV show Vikings and I think it’ll be interesting to read Young’s take on the history of Vikings. This novel is a standalone which is great because I can lose interest in long series very easily. I expect this novel to very intense and action packed!
I can’t wait to start reading these books in the month of July! The sunny weather makes for perfect conditions to read outside. Tell me what you plan on reading this month!

Southern Gentleman by Jessica Peterson
Southern Gentleman by Jessica Peterson is now live!
Tumblr media
L I V E I was super excited to receive an ARC of Southern Gentleman by Jessica Peterson. Jessica is quickly becoming a "one-click" for me and I love the other two books in this series. ____ R E V I E W ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Southern Gentleman is book 3 in Jessica Peterson's Charleston Heat series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone novel, but trust me, they are more fun when reading them in order. I really enjoyed Greyson + Julia's story. Despite being incredibly successful, smart, grumpy & a total alpha in the sack, Greyson, shows a vulnerable side you typically don't see with the usual rich, alpha heroes. He is constantly working hard to provide for his family and atone for past sins. Julia is probably one of my favorite heroines written by Jessica. She independent, free-spirited, strong and surrounds her self with a group of friends who support and lift her up. She also has a real life conversation about keeping a baby from an accidental pregnancy. She owns her sexuality, her body and her choices. Like the other Charleston Heat books, there is a snip form a historical romance novel written by Olivia (the heroine from book 1) that has a theme that coincides with the situations similar to those of the main characters. I can't wait to read more from Jessica. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She doesn't give you the sunshine, rainbows and over the top love you find in a typical romance novel. She gives you the real - the vulnerability of the imperfect hero, the strong-willed and fierce heroine and the real life situations filled with real life conversations that a lot of people deal have to deal with. I find it incredible refreshing. ____ S Y N O P S I S I know two things when I meet my new boss, Greyson Parker Montgomery III. One, he’s an egomaniac. And two, we’re going to get naked. Something I didn’t know? That I’d end up pregnant. No one is more surprised by our off-the-charts chemistry than me. I’m a free spirit with a passion for design and a taste for the bohemian. Greyson is a cocky venture capitalist who’s as soulless as his sharply cut power suits. He owns half of Charleston, and has the other half at his beck and call. But the only place he owns me is in bed...or in the backseat of his car, boneless and begging for mercy. We argue over contracts and costs all day long. Behind closed doors, however, we engage in a different kind of business. The kind that has me surrendering to his unique brand of dominance. Our no-strings attached arrangement suits me just fine. Until I wake up one morning with what I think is a wicked hangover. Only it’s not a hangover. I thought Greyson was a typical “greed is good” grump. But when he demands to be involved in the life we accidentally created, I start to see a different side of him. One that’s more gentleman than jerk. Am I crazy to think we could be a family together? Or is making me fall for him just another one of his power plays? ---- L I N K S Universal - mybook.to/SouthernGentleman BookBub - https://bit.ly/2GGlyOz Add to your TBR - https://bit.ly/2SItO3D
