hehe hi! anon here! didn’t know what you wanted in terms of request but 😭 how about like a comfort request? i’ve just had a pretty bad academic related experience, so maybe head-canons of any character of your choosing for comfort?
Ooooh I like this a lottt.... of course I'll be using the CoD boys, but I might throw some random ones in here too, be prepared lol. Thanks for the request!!!
SORRY THIS IS SO LATE OMGGGGG
CoD 141 Headcannons: Comforting You through a Rough Academic Period
Tumblr media
Simon "Ghost" Riley:
He wasn't really the academic type, so he couldn't entirely understand why you let yourself agonize so much over your studies.
But he respected the fact that you were working so hard to achieve your goals. Something he never got to do often for himself, since most of his job was just following orders.
He would sit there and watch as you sat, neck stuck out towards your computer and your back hunched. He'd sigh, moving behind you to roll out your back, wincing as it popped.
"Christ, love - get up and walk around for a second, yeah?"
"I'm almost done with this module, just let m-"
"Up. Now." He'd order you to move, but would drag you out of your seat whether you started to move or not. "You'll get stuck if you sit like that for too long, looking like an old man."
"Like you?"
"Oi!!"
Simon would practice your flashcards with you, although he wouldn't be very helpful. He'd just shake his head when you got the answer wrong, not bothering to help you find it.
"... is it the femur?"
"No."
"... the tibia?"
"Nope. Try again."
"Can I get a hint?"
"No."
"..."
He knew to NOT distract you when you were on a roll. He can manage keeping himself busy while you studied, doing his own work or helping with chores around the apartment.
He knew, from experience, how easy it was to forget to take care of yourself - so he did it for you. He brought you water every time you emptied your cup. He would bring you snacks periodically, or he would cook a meal for the both of you. He'd sit and eat with you, not making any conversation so he doesn't distract you.
"Anything you need, love, just tell me."
If he caught you getting distracted, whether you would glaze over what you were reading, or your conversation with him would go just a bit too long, he would redirect you back to your work.
"Finish that bit and then take a break with me."
Tumblr media
Johnny "Soap" MacTavish:
He hated the fact that all of your time was being consumed by something other than him. When he would walk out of your bedroom first thing in the morning and see you bent over the table with your laptop and notebook, he would groan internally. He'd rather you be be bent over the table for him.
But he remembered how often you waited for him while he was deployed, so he patiently waited for you.
Well, as patient as he possibly could be.
After about three hours, you'd be the one lecturing him, telling him to go watch tv or go out and do something so you could finish. Every now and then, he'd only agree to leaving you alone if you would promise to go out to dinner with him, whether it was casual or fancy. After agreeing - and several kisses for convincing - he'd let you be.
"Wear your favorite jeans, ok?" he'd say.
"You mean your favorite jeans?"
"... yeah." he'd smile ear-to-ear.
He would stand behind you, his head resting on top of yours, his hands gently massaging your shoulders as he read along to the biochemistry textbook you had on your screen.
"Shite, hen, you studying to be a fucking wizard? What is all that keech?"
He'd constantly throw passive-aggressive praises at you, saying how you're so strong for sticking with your studies, and how he would have given up after looking at the first page.
"You gonna remember me when you're up there with the brainy blokes?"
"Of course I will, you're helping me pay for this."
"For feck's sake, I forgot 'bout that."
More than once, when you dropped your head down in frustration, he would walk over and hold it back up towards the screen.
If you studied in your bed or on the couch, he would sometimes lay with his head in your lap, wrapping his arms around your thighs with a tired pout on his lips.
"Hold me when you're finished with that, yeah?"
Tumblr media
Kyle "Gaz" Garrick
He admired your determination to get your degree - he felt a sense of pride every time he saw you studying, especially on the days where it was particularly hard for you.
He was your #1 supporter, constantly encouraging you, praising you, and helping you see what your working towards. He'd be carrying you through the lows of your emotions, making sure you didn't feel hopeless.
"Of course you got this, babe, you're so fucking smart!"
While you were reading the module in the textbook, he'd be looking up videos on his phone about the subject, watching it on the lowest volume so as not to disturb you.
He'll sit on the floor with you, your notes strewn everywhere, listening to you talk about the subject you're working on. He'd do his best to engage in conversation with you about it, hoping that it helps you retain the information better.
Truth be told, he doesn't know much about the subject, but he's just happy to help. He'd let you vent about your current frustrations.
"It says that this piece is in 3-4..." you'd mumble.
"Yeah?" he'd reply, not sure where you were looking at on the page in front of you, but doing his best to follow along.
"... and that this one is in 4-4 too, but each note is made up of triplets."
"Triplets?!"
"Yes! And THIS one is 2-4, ALSO with triplets!! They all sound the same!!"
"How the fuck are they different?!"
"You tell me!!"
You knew he wasn't sure what you were talking about, but that he knew what you needed - a shoulder. And he always provided you with that, no matter what kind of day he'd had.
He'd encourage you with snacks, going through your flashcards with you and tossing you a pretzel every time you got one right.
"Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake' starts off in a blank chord."
"Melancholic?"
"Close, but try again. Think simpler."
"... minor?"
"There you go." he'd toss you a pretzel from across the couch.
Tumblr media
Captain John Price:
Mans goes full dad-mode when helping you study.
He has a week away from missions? You'd best believe he's spending it at the dinner table with you. He'd work on his own things, sitting next to you, while you study.
He had a no-phone rule at the table while you worked. At first you whined and fidgeted with your hands, itching to check your phone for any form of distraction. Eventually, you gave up, diving into your studies as Price smiled smugly.
Like Simon, he'd be bringing you snacks and water throughout the day. Lots of shoulder massages, scalp massages, and stretch breaks (he'd try to participate, until he'd strain his back too much).
If he notices you struggling, evident in the way you scowl and grip your hair near the scalp, he'd sit right beside you and try to help you understand the material.
Unless it was math. He couldn't stand math.
"What's that?"
"That's mu."
"Come again?"
"It's a Greek letter, it represents the population mean."
"English, love."
"N-no, it's Greek!"
"Huh?!"
"Never mind, John, I got it from here." You'd kiss his cheek, thankful for the moment of amusement he'd provided. He'd continue staring at the screen, grumbling about how ridiculous math had become over the years.
For at least one of your breaks, he'd insist on taking you for a walk. You'd stroll around the neighborhood, basking in the chilly Autumn air mixed with Price's warm arm around yours. As hard as it was for him to drag you out of the house, you were thankful for his stubbornness to get you moving. The pace of the walk and the sound of the atmosphere around you helped clear your head of any frustration and brain fog. You'd close your eyes and lean your head against Price's shoulder, trusting him to take the lead.
A day spent studying was rewarded with an hour or two either in front of the tv, lying in Price's embrace, or the two of you just sitting on the cough together, having a conversation free of your school subjects. Most of the time, you'd fall asleep before him, and he'd let you lie there for a minute before he'd carry you to bed.
"Try not to work yourself too hard, love. Y' need to be strong for me tomorrow."

Just because Alice was trapped in Hell while alive, doesn't mean the living world was going to stop for her. She had to keep up with her studies. She was writing down notes and flashcards furiously on the balcony with her hood up. Normally, she'd do the smart thing and study inside the hotel in her room, but Nifty had to do some deep cleaning. She was on biochemistry when she felt someone watching her.
Tumblr media
Alastor originally intended to sip his coffee out on the terrace, but when he saw someone was already there, he sighed a little. He watched as she scribbled furiously, hunched over into her books, albeit not as oblivious as the Radio Demon thought, for her body language seemed to tense up.
"Good morning, dear," he decided, curiosity winning in the end. "What has you so enthralled here?" He leans over to try and take a glance at her studies.

hihi i want to do a haikyuu matchup! 🎐
- she/her pronouns
- romantic matchup
- male pairing
- my MBTI is ISTJ, and i’m really quiet and shy. my friends call me a doormat sometimes, but i'm working on it! i tend to stay at the back of the group and keep an eye on everyone to make sure no one gets lost. i’m very protective of my friends and family, and i am usually pretty good at diffusing tension between others and being a good listener.
- i love to read and listen to music! my current obsession is murder mysteries because i like to try and solve it before the characters do, but i’m only successful 50% of the time. i’m a pre-medicine student who is working on a biochemistry/molecular biology degree though, so my free time is limited :<. my to-read list grows by the day
- i look for someone who is more extroverted than me (not really that hard haha), someone who can make me laugh, and someone who is really ambitious! ideally he would be a huge nerd who wouldn’t mind listening to me talk about random biochemistry facts i find interesting.
- an ideal first date for me would be a coffee shop! i tend to get anxious eating around other people before i get to know them, so really anything without food is good!
thank youuuu ♡
your matchup is...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sugawara koushi
⭑ suga is a very easygoing and emotionally intelligent guy
⭑ i feel like he's friendly enough to bring others out of their shell but not overly extroverted to the point where it scares some individuals away
⭑ you know the type of people that after hanging out with them, you feel instantly at ease and refreshed? yeah that's suga
⭑ he has a naturally cheerful disposition so you'd always have a good time when you're around him
⭑ he notices that you're very protective and always looking out for those who are close to you so he makes sure that you're taking care of yourself as well
⭑ suga is such an unconditionally supportive person and he thinks it's incredibly admirable of you to be dedicating yourself to medicine bc he knows how challenging it must be
⭑ whenever you're stressed out or exhausted due to your classes, he's willing to give you whatever it is that you need at the moment, whether it's a couple of words of affirmation or just some space for yourself
⭑ he wholeheartedly understands how much time and effort is required for your area of study
⭑ if you ever need someone to help you review for an exam (e.g. going through flashcards or reciting random facts), suga's there for you
⭑ i can see suga being a fan of reading, however murder mysteries aren't usually what he goes for
⭑ but he sees you with your book one day and gets sucked in immediately when he starts reading it over your shoulder
⭑ it becomes a competition between the two of you to see who can figure out the culprit first (accurately)
⭑ you guys reach the part of the book where the true suspect is revealed and suga's like "i knew it was him all along" (no he did not)
⭑ while suga would have certain favorite genres of music, i think he'd be open to listening to anything so he'd definitely ask you for song recs
⭑ you'd send him some of your current favorite playlists his way and he'd listen to them and give you a detailed reaction to each one
⭑ i just know that suga would have the best cafes and coffee shops in the area memorized like the back of his hand
⭑ you guys would take alternating turns picking out which cafes to visit each time you go out
⭑ both of you would enjoy a little coffee shop date where you can just talk and get to know each other better

your matchup runner-up is kuroo tetsuro

This is a shot in the dark ask but do you know where I can find medical textbooks? What textbooks do you rec? And what other resources do you use? I'm starting medschool next year and I'm really nervous about it 😅
Thank you!
hello :))
you can find almost all medical books in libgen and its alternatives. i only really used guyton for physiology, janneway immunobiology, robbins pathology and usmle step 1 guide for other stuff and they're good i recommend them! especially robbins pathology
for other resources i used boards and beyond generally, the subscription is expensive as hell don't bother with it you can find their stuff pirated online, osmosis is an alternative (also subscription based unfortunately🙃) but i find their videos and notes a little superficial in comparison. ninja nerd on yt is good for biochemistry, histoloyguide for histology, webpath for pathology, some of my friends also used anki flashcards but i didn't...that's what i can think of off the top of my head😭 idk honestly i relied mainly on my lectures and b&b and occasionally the textbooks

Hii! Thank you si much for doing a reading for me.
Right now I have no study method lol
I literally havent done anything in a few days. I had a really bad year and I am soooooo tired. To be fair I only need to have oral exams in some subjects and I am done so tehnically I did pass most subjects as even if I fail the oral exam the written parts are still good so I cant fail compleatly. That gives me some hope. I will try flashcards ! I actually found some app where you upload your book and it makes flashcards for you. I also found some songs about biochemistry that can help me remember the cycles.
I tend to dislike the pomodoro method because when I get into study space taking a sudden break ruins it for me. Its hard to get into it again. I will try it tho. Maybe it will work better now.
Listening to chinese is a good idea. Im only on A1 level so it is not too hard and I should be able to at least pass it.
I do hope to get most subjects done. Exams arent that much of a problem but oral exams are death😭
Thank you!!
Hi dear,
Thank you so much for taking the time to sending me a review.
It makes sense why I felt your energy was a bit scattered, but this just means you have one to go about this, and this is to establish a study method that works for you.
I'm really grateful that you are aware what methods you don't like, that's a great start!
So just don't beat yourself up if one method doesn't suit you, there are a bunch of others that you can experiment with.

hi madie! long time follower, first time asker here. bit of a heavy question for a tuesday night, so I apologize in advance.
how are you able to keep up with so much and also be good at it and also enjoy it? like what drives your incredible work ethic? of course this is the internet and ik we only see your highlight reel and not the behind the scenes stuff, to paraphrase taylor. I'm just having a bit of a rough day academically, as in being totally unproductive all day despite setting intentions this morning to be productive and get a lot of homework done today, which feels very frustrating.
I know you're studying to become a doctor which obvi takes a lot of dedication and hard work which are things I've been trying to improve recently but simply do not come easily to me.
so ig I'm just wondering if you had any advice for being a more dedicated and committed person when it comes to things like school as well as hobbies (congrats on nailing your audition btw!). I really admire your work ethic and wish you all the best in your studies and life and everything! 💓
hello anon!! thank you for being a long time follower and thank you for sending your very first ask 💕💕 welcome to my inbox hehe
thank you so much for the kind words - it's true that my blog is quite like a highlight reel so you do see a lot of the good parts and very few of the bad parts, but i do try to keep it real on this blog. the main thing is that you can't beat yourself up when you have an unproductive day because it sort of snowballs into a bigger thing if you let it weigh you down. rather than taking this unproductive day as something to be ashamed of, take it as something where you needed the break so you took it!! and then tomorrow, be as productive as possible because you had the break yesterday
it's actually encouraged to be unproductive on some days. when i was studying for the MCAT, we were specifically told to take break days and to make sure that we didn't over-extend ourselves because we would just burn out too quickly. so what i would do is study everyday of the week and give myself a nice break on sunday to do absolutely nothing !! and that was necessary !!
i think what also helps with my motivation is that i really like to keep myself organized which means i am religiously devoted to my google calendar and my to-do list. the google calendar is to make sure that i'm not losing track of the things i need to do but the to-do list is the thing that really keeps me going. it's very satisfying to cross things off of my to-do list and it makes sure that i'm doing everything i need to do before the day is done. if i don't finish what's on the to-do list, i just move it to tomorrow and so on. you don't have to finish everything on the to-do list but it keeps you motivated to cross things off and make sure you're doing what you need to do.
when i was studying for the MCAT, i essentially designed a calendar where i would do certain topics on certain days so i would do chemistry / psychology on one day and then biology / biochemistry on the other day. that way i wasn't boring myself to death with one topic and actually keeping things interesting. if you find that studying is really boring (because it truthfully is, for everyone) i find that starting the homework that you hate the most is helpful because you get the worst part over when you have the maximum amount of energy.
another thing about school studying is that you shouldn't just look at the paper and nod thoughtfully - you should be doing ~active studying~ which is what they encourage us to do during MCAT studying as well. you essentially have to engage with the material in order to learn it well so you can't just stare at the page and pretend you know it !! there's a couple techniques of active studying that you can find online but i recommend anything between flashcards to active recall
for hobbies - it's all just my own enjoyment!! i know i get really lazy and in a pit if i'm not doing my hobbies so i have to actively push myself to join orchestras and do stuff outside of work. one thing that really helped me is to focus on a hobby and see what i could do in the area to get involved. so . i really like playing in orchestras so i spent a day focusing on the different orchestras in the area and then sending them emails about their auditions. that way all of my research and dedication to that hobby is done in one day and i get to reap the rewards later (i.e. they email me back about auditions).
it's also okay to let go of hobbies and find new ones. if you don't like your current hobbies, try new ones! ask your friends if they have any hobbies that you haven't tried already. try a new instrument! try painting! art! there's a lot to do and hobbies are meant to be fulfilling rather than draining.
i hope this helps anon!!

Orgo isn’t the WORST.. I just finished taking biochemistry and orgo in the same semester and it was ass but I thought orgo was better than biochem. I think it also depends on university; some schools/professors flaunt that they have super low orgo passing rates for the class but some universities actually want students to succeed so that def makes a difference. My biggest word of advice is doing practice problems and making flashcards for predictive reactions
girl okay thank you i’m like stressing out already and i haven’t even began the class….
i also have to take physics 1 and 2 and my friend told me physics is way worse than orgo so i’m just fucked ALL THE WAY AROUND 😁😁😁😁

Essential Areas to Focus on for NEET PG Exam Success!
The NEET PG examination marks a crucial milestone in your journey to becoming a successful physician. Scoring well requires not only dedication but also a smart and structured preparation strategy. To ensure you're thoroughly prepared and confident on exam day, here are the top focus areas you should prioritize during your NEET PG 2025 preparation
Command the Syllabus The syllabus of NEET PG is the backbone of your preparation. Read all the subjects and find out the high-weightage subjects. Give maximum emphasis on often-asked topics and clear concepts in each subject. Having an idea of what to read—and to what depth—is half the battle fought.
Proper Time Management A good study schedule is the secret to steady advancement. Plan your daily schedule to contain theory time, MCQ practice, and revision. Stick to it religiously to gain a strong foundation without any last-minute scrambling and complete coverage of the syllabus. Efficient time management results in improved retention and less stress.
Establish a Firm Base in Basic Sciences Topics such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology are the foundation stones of medical education. Getting your basics correct in these topics is a prerequisite to comprehending more advanced clinical topics and tackling integrated questions well.
Practice MCQs Regularly NEET PG is an MCQ test, so question practice on a regular basis is crucial. Use general reference books and work out previous year papers to get an idea of the trend. It will improve your speed, accuracy, as well as confidence in handling actual exam situations.
Practice Full-Length Mock Tests Practicing the real examination atmosphere by using mock tests ensures time management abilities and examination temperament. Review your performance after each test to ascertain weak areas and adjust your practice strategy accordingly.
Prepare Clinical Subjects as a Priority Topics: such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry are heavily loaded in the NEET PG exam. These are application-based and generally comprise the majority of the clinical questions, so ensure that you dedicate enough time to learn them.
7: Regular and Timely Revision
Regular revision is a must. Prepare concise notes or flashcards to enable instant rapid revision of important facts, formulas, and principles. Begin rigorous revision at least 2–3 months prior to the exam to solidify retention and increase recall rate.
Keep Yourself in Touch with Official Instructions Keep yourself informed about any updates regarding the exam pattern, eligibility, or important dates. Visit the official NBE (National Board of Examinations) website frequently to stay on top of any changes and avoid surprises during the exam process.
Maintain Mental and Physical Wellness A healthy and relaxed mind is key to success in exams. Self-care is the key: get plenty of rest, eat healthily, exercise lightly, and take breaks. Don't overwork yourself - balance study and relaxation.
Use the Right Study Resources Depend on authentic ref books, premium online sites, and revised study material specifically designed for NEET PG. Select resources that match the current pattern of the exam and are commonly suggested by toppers and guides.
Victory in NEET PG 2025 is not merely a matter of hard work—it's a matter of working smart. By prioritizing these areas, staying disciplined, and employing the correct strategies, you can lay a strong foundation for reaching your desired rank. Stay motivated, have faith in the process, and take gradual steps towards your dream medical career.

2/25/2025 • Week 8
Productivity: 4 h + 40 min
Today was a tiring day, also didn't get a lot of stuff done (in the means of studying). Mostly wrote review notes for biochemistry for chapters 5 and 6 (and did not study the flashcards I made). And watched a YouTube video on newtons third law (but it didn't really help in terms of nuance). I was going to do a peer review assignment but forgot along the way. On an unrelated (school) note, I've been consuming way too much nezha content (I've been injecting it in my veins). Read two fics today and spent an hour on Tumblr (which is a record in my standards). Also I finally know how to pronounce nezha! Though I find it odd I discovered it through one of the fics 🤨
Things completed:
✅ Section four hw
✅ ch.11 notes for biochem
✅ review notes

Mastering the Phlebotomy Order of Draw: Essential Guide for Accurate Sample Collection
Mastering the phlebotomy Order of Draw:‍ Essential Guide for Accurate Sample collection
Mastering the Phlebotomy order of Draw: Essential Guide for ⁤Accurate Sample Collection
Phlebotomy is a‍ critical skill in the medical field, ensuring that blood is collected properly for diagnostic testing. One of the⁢ most essential‌ aspects of this process is the order of draw. This guideline helps prevent cross-contamination of additives in blood collection tubes and ensures ‍accurate test ‌results. In this ‍article, we’ll explore‍ the phlebotomy order of draw, its importance, benefits, practical tips, and much more. Let’s dive in!
Understanding the Phlebotomy⁢ Order ⁢of Draw
The order of draw refers to the sequence‌ in which blood specimens should be collected into ‍the appropriate tubes. The primary reason for⁣ adhering to this order is to minimize the risk of cross-contamination between different types of additives in the tubes,‌ ensuring the integrity of each specimen.
Standard order ‍of Draw
The following is the standard order of draw, along with ‌the specific types of tubes used:
Order
Tube Color
Additive
Common Tests
1
No Additive (Red)
No additive
Serology, blood bank
2
Citrate (Light Blue)
Sodium Citrate
Coagulation tests (PT, APTT)
3
Clot Activator (Gold or Red-Gray)
Clot activator ‍and Gel Separator
Biochemistry tests
4
Heparin (Green)
Sodium or Lithium Heparin
Plasma tests
5
EDTA‍ (Lavender)
EDTA
Complete blood ⁢counts (CBC)
6
Oxalate/Fluoride ⁤(Grey)
Sodium ⁤Fluoride
Glucose, lactate
The Importance of the Order of Draw
Adhering to the order of draw is crucial⁣ for several reasons:
Prevention⁢ of Contamination: Using the wrong tube can lead to contamination, affecting the test results.
Accuracy of Results: Tests performed on contaminated samples can yield ‌false positives or negatives.
Compliance with regulations: Following the established order of draw⁢ is essential⁣ for meeting the standards set by regulatory bodies.
Benefits of Mastering the Phlebotomy Order of Draw
Mastering the order of draw not only⁢ enhances your technical skills but also provides the following benefits:
Improved⁣ Patient Safety: ⁢ Accurate sample collection reduces the ⁣risk of diagnostic errors.
Increased Efficiency: Streamlining the collection ‍process helps healthcare providers deliver⁤ services more effectively.
Better Job performance: Proficiency in phlebotomy ‌practices can lead‍ to greater job satisfaction and career advancement opportunities.
Practical Tips for ⁣mastering the Order of Draw
here are some practical tips to help you master the phlebotomy order of draw:
Practice⁤ Frequently: Regular practice will help solidify your understanding and adherence to the order of draw.
Use Mnemonics: Create a ‍mnemonic to remember the order of draw. For example, “No Crazy Cats Give Extra Orange” can‌ help you recall the colors.
Stay Updated: Regularly review phlebotomy guidelines as recommendations may change.
Utilize Visual⁢ Aids: Posters or flashcards can serve as reminders in your⁢ workspace.
Case Study: A Real-World Submission
Consider ‍a scenario in ⁣a hospital where two patients require blood tests. A phlebotomist follows the proper order of draw while collecting samples for ⁣both⁢ patients. For Patient A, they start with a red tube, ‍followed by a ‌light blue tube, green, lavender, and then gray. For Patient B, they inadvertently use the light blue tube before the red tube as they are not familiar with the order. This error leads to a false elevation in coagulation markers, causing unneeded concern and follow-up procedures⁤ for Patient B. This situation underscores the ‌importance⁣ of strictly adhering to the correct‍ order of draw.
First-Hand Experience: Phlebotomist Insights
As a seasoned phlebotomist, I can attest to the meaning of mastering⁢ the order⁢ of draw. I recall⁢ an instance when ⁣I ‌performed a routine ⁣blood draw⁣ in ‌our clinic.by following the established‌ order, I ensured that my⁤ samples were collected without contamination.Consequently, our lab technician ⁤reported clear, precise ⁣results for all tests, which was crucial for patient⁤ diagnosis. The time ‌spent mastering this aspect of phlebotomy has paid off countless times in error reduction ⁤and patient satisfaction.
Conclusion
Mastering the phlebotomy order of draw is non-negotiable for anyone involved ‍in sample collection. Not only does it ⁣ensure the reliability and accuracy of test results, but it also enhances patient ‍safety and improves the overall efficiency of ‌healthcare services. By following the guidelines outlined in this article, ⁢employing⁣ practical tips,⁣ and learning from real-world experiences, you will elevate your phlebotomy practice. remember: accuracy‌ starts with the order of draw!
