I'm not sharing this for recognition, in fact I cried when I got to my car because I felt like I didn't deserve this award tonight. I do what I do because it's my passion. I am talking to my friends, my sisters, my tribe, when I'm at these retreats and meet ups and running the support group. I do it because I wish I had this immediately after placement. I do it because it's my passion, and getting to do it is reward enough to me. But being recognized for it today made me feel special. I am grateful that my mom encourages me to love all people - big and small - whether they are six weeks old with a beating heart in a mommy's tummy, sixty years old, or with disabilities.
