This morning, I asked the cards "As the year ends, what do I need to let go of?" I drew the Knight of Wands, the 5 of Cups and the Hierophant from The Taro of the Divine. ❤ The Knight of Wands charges forward with a gleam in her eye. She is flame and fire and rushes in, always eager for a fight and ever ready to engage in battle. Though she is kind hearted, she also has an incredible temper, especially if things don't go her way. I need to let go of the anger that I've been holding on to and the need to see everything as a battle. Life is not a constant fight but an experience that should be enjoyed. I need to stop fighting with myself too. I need to be my own ally. ❤ In the 5 of Cups, a woman sits by the waters edge. She is full of despair. The Cups were filled with her emotions and they have spread to the water. This card symbolizes a difficult emotional situation, one that is all consuming. When I look at this card, I am reminded of all the emotions that I hold on to: the idea that I'm not good enough, emotions left over from others that have hurt me, trauma that I still carry with me. I wonder how much those emotions have infiltrated the rest of me. I need to walk away from those Cups and those emotions and embrace new ones. I need to embrace the light. ❤ The Hierophant also sits by the waters edge. She is the wise white buffalo woman. She teaches that higher knowledge can be found only when you are able to combine the divine with the Earth, when you recognize that you are both from the divine and the Earth itself. Knowledge comes when you give yourself that balance. I need to let go of my blind trust in spirit. They are only half of the knowledge that I need. I hold the other half of that knowledge within me, as I come from the Earth and the cosmos. Spirit can only solve part of whatever issue I am going through. I need to realize that I have control over whatever I take on.
