Blue Tara

Ekajati is also known as "Blue Tara", Vajra Tara or "Ugra Tara". She is generally considered one of the three principal protectors of the Nyingma school along with Rāhula and Vajrasādhu.

Often Ekajati appears as liberator in the mandala of the Green Tara. Along with that, her ascribed powers are removing the fear of enemies, spreading joy, and removing personal hindrances on the path to enlightenment.

Ekajati is the protector of secret mantras and "as the mother of all" represents the ultimate unity. As such, her own mantra is also secret. She is the most important protector of the Vajrayana teachings, especially the Inner Tantras and termas. As the protector of mantra, she supports the practitioner in deciphering symbolic dakini codes and properly determines appropriate times and circumstances for revealing tantric teachings. Because she completely realizes the texts and mantras under her care, she reminds the practitioner of their preciousness and secrecy.

Okay, so this moment. This moment right here is so awesome to me. This is the first time that I have ever seen (on screen or in a book) the male gaze land on two women kissing and have it NOT be about the guy and his gratification. What Alice and the cast and crew managed to do here is absolute perfection. Tara and Darcy are having this intensely personal moment of freedom with a deliberate, mutually agreed upon act of public physical affection, they're finding joy in each other... and there's Nick, seeing it for what it is and feeling a reflection of their joy, the radiance of it. Yes, it helps him realize something about himself to witness that moment, but ultimately, his happiness just helps us as viewers feel even more connected to Tara and Darcy. I don't know if I'm getting this all out in a way that makes sense, but, having taken so many literature classes where we studied the male gaze and how destructive it can be to women, I find this scene in the show to be quietly revolutionary. From the lighting, to the editing, to the scenes and conversations that take place prior that make it so clear what this moment actually means, right down to the song lyrics in the background ("Just another time I'm caught inside every open eye"). It's just pure gold.

Kano was literally given to Jonas as “payment” and treated as more or less a servant slash babysitter in order to protect his friend and his marriage after Jonas blackmailed Don. Even after Venturion was killed by Kano’s hands in order to protect Rusty (mind you instead of helping restore Don, Jonas turned him into a nanny for Rusty) you don’t think Kano wanted to leave ? Jonas most likely held his death over Kano’s head and threatened him into staying with Team Venture to keep him complicit.

Like you’ll never not convince me that this man who was basically traded as “payment” to protect his friend was not the victim. And yeah he was considered Blue Morpho’s “bodyguard” Don treated Kano like an actual friend instead of a servant while Jonas treated him like an accessory to his collection.

His outfit was changed from his chauffeur’s outfit to a stereotypical karate outfit, he calls Rusty “Master Rusty” , he was even in charge of babysitting Rusty and Tara whenever Jonas was having orgies and was one of the more caring adults in Rusty’s life and as far as I remember never really took part in more of the illicit activities Team Venture took part in. Besides their adventures, he seemed more interested in Rusty’s care, even in the future while most of Team Venture has settled down they’re still more unhinged than Kano. Kano likes baking, karaoke and watching Top Chef in his spare time and is more withdrawn from the whole super science superhero stuff than the other members of Team Venture who still get involved from time to time.

We’ll probably never know more about him since the show got cancelled but I’m 99% certain that Kano only stood by Jonas because he was literally traded like an object to keep his friend’s secret safe and so that Jonas would keep his promise into giving his friend and his wife a baby, then when Blue Morpho was turned into Venturion he only stayed so that he could be close to what was left of his old friend and then when he killed him to protect Rusty, Jonas held him killing his friend over his head in order to keep him there and complicit.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Kano is the real victim of Venture Bros and if it was up to me I’d do everything I could to bring Jonas Venture back to life with all of his original memories and and let Kano curb stomp him
