This is Boondie. I rescued him from an op-shop. The lady at the register looked at him, and said “Sugoi!” He really is.

Meethi Boondi Kaise Bnaye
Introduction Diwali, the festival of lights, is synonymous with happiness, togetherness and of course delicious dishes. One such delicious dish that is included in every Diwali celebration is Meethi Boondi. These small, sweet and colorful drops of happiness not only add sweetness to the festival but also symbolize the vibrant spirit of Diwali. If you are looking to make this traditional favorite at home, our Meethi Boondi recipe will guide you in the process.
Material For Bundi: 1 cup gram flour 1/8 tsp baking soda a pinch of red food coloring a pinch of yellow food color 1/4 cup water 1 cup oil for frying For syrup: 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp cardamom powder Instruction Preparing Boondi Batter: Sieve the gram flour in a vessel so that there are no lumps in it. Add baking soda to it. Slowly add water to the gram flour and mix to make a medium thick batter. The batter should be of liquid consistency but not too thin.
Divide the batter into two parts. Mix red food color in one part and yellow color in the other part. Mix these separately until the color is evenly incorporated into the batter.
Boondi Fry: To make boondi, you will need a ladle with two slots, one for making boondi and the other for frying. – Heat sufficient amount of oil for frying in a pan. The oil should be medium hot. To test, drop a small ball of batter into the oil. If it swells immediately without changing color then the oil is ready. Hold the slotted ladle with small holes just above the oil (neither too high nor too low). Using a large deep spoon, spoon the batter (either yellow or red first) onto the slotted ladle. Spread it in circular motion so that the batter falls into the oil like small drops from the hole of the ladle. Fry the boondi till crisp and then drain on tissue paper or kitchen napkin to remove excess oil. Prepare both the colored boondi in batches and collect them in a bowl.
