Bradley Barbell Bench PR thoughts
I'm just doing the first day of week two. I'm feeling optimistic about it
It's so weird doing 3 reps at most on bench press. Mostly 1s and 2s. It's all about the tempo with these two which has taken some getting used to. Sometimes it's frustrating because I just want to do more lol
It also seems like less volume than I'm used to. I've browsed some other programs on boostcamp too and some that are described as "high volume" look like less than my usual volume... So maybe I have been overdoing it. Maybe that's why I've hurt my elbows and right knee
Because it's so different to what I'd usually do, I'm optimistic that it should work and increase my strength
Some of the instructions weren't clear, I couldn't find an answer googling, but someone on reddit said he answers questions on IG. So I asked him, and he did get back to me. So that's cool
I am missing my favourite exercises already, but that just means it'll be nice to get back to normal after. Hopefully stronger 💪🏼

Hello wonderful people! This blog is going to be my attempt at staying consistent with my fitness. I have big goals but struggle to remember my why as much as I should.
So, Im going to be posting here at the end of the day, every day to keep me (and you!) accountable. Follow along, post your progress too, and lets do this together!
About me:
An enby with too many hobbies, pursuing a career in music and currently working in paediatric OT. I have two amazing boyfriends and an adorable cat who has epilepsy.
Without further ado, day 1.
Food:
Breakfast - tuna, garlic aoli and tomato on a burger bun
Lunch - banana protien shake
Dinner - beef mince, pasta and veggie based sauce
Total cals - 1242
Total protien - 132
Exercise:
I went to the gym for the third day of a new workput program Im trying (It All Starts Here on boostcamp). I tried romanian deadlifts, facepulls and rows for the first time, all in all I think it went well!
No running practice today - the basketball court I usually used is occupied, and I cant find the will to try the treadmill.
Managed to finish the gym off with some nice stretching.
Other:
Im working up the confidence to post a picture of myself to track progress. Im not sure if its dysphoria of just insecurity but I have never enjoyed photos of myself. I think that will be one of my main goals to reach in the coming week.
Other than that, I had a nice day of playing MTG with my family and DND with my friends, so Im all rested and ready for work tomorrow.

I've joined boostcamp and picked a program for chest strength (Bradley barbell's bench PR). 6 weeks, 5 days a week. I'm feeling optimistic and hyped for it, but I'm not going to start it until February because I'm taking a week away to go skiing at the end of January.
The chest work is all a very different style to what I usually do, so I'm optimistic. I think my 1rm is probably 85kg. And it's long rests, short sets, but more of them. Overall it looks like less volume than what I do currently too.
If I can gain even 5kg on my bench I'd be pleased. I'm keeping my expectations low, but I'm excited anyway.
Next is to plan what to do when I cut. I'll start that March/April. Idk if there are programs for maintaining in a deficit specifically. Maybe I'll just go back to my usual routine. Maybe I'll try a different program and just accept my performance will be suboptimal.
I've already set my eyes in Alexander Bromley's 70s powerlifter for my next bulk though. It looks really intense. Honest it might be a bit bold for me but I wanna have a crack at it.

Must admit I love Sadhguru for his work on combining traditions with modernity. He has even numerous projects on saving the old weaving mills and traditions of India. I very nearly weighed 73kg the other day. It's back to 72.4 now but this is the heaviest I've been
And I'm feeling mixed about it. Trying to feel like my belly is cute and it's mostly working. Dysphoria feelings about my big arse I'm trying to suppress. A new guy I've been having great sex with I think looks at me as a bit female...it's just a slight vibe and I try and ignore it but that isn't helping. He's great though and it's worth it. Just burying all these feelings 🙃
I'm feeling like I'm not progressing much in terms of strength at the gym. And maybe not gaining muscle either, because I don't trust my scales. I've improved a bit but it's minimal. I've never followed a proper program and I'm starting to feel like I ought to.
I was devastated to read a post on ftm fitness yesterday from a pre T 14 year old who can bench 70kg and wants to know if they can get to 100kg in a few months. I'm struggling at 80kg and I've been training on T for 9 years. Made me think I'm definitely doing something wrong.
There's so much noise online in terms of advice. Some people saying you need more volume, some saying too much is bad. I actually felt an increase in strength on my bench after two consecutive days off over Christmas. So I'm wondering if I'm not resting enough...
I'm considering getting boostcamp and looking for an 8 week 4 day a week program I can follow to end this bulk. I always skipped th ads, but I think it's time to trust someone else and follow a plan made by a pro coach.
