Cold Hands, Warm Hearts

A/N; Erin and Abi discuss the future. Written for @storiesofsvu​ ‘s Holiday Bingo.

“You need mittens…” Abi’s smirk is soft even as she slips her own gloves off, moving to instead slip them over Erin’s hands, noting Erin’s slight blush and shifting closer to Erin even as Erin’s dad glances back at them. She had already overheard a discussion with Erin’s father, Erin’s quick retort putting Abi at ease even as she considered the words ‘I don’t think anyone can live up to your expectations…’, having been asked to find out why Erin’s ex was still haunting her she had a feeling that was a very big clue. “You’ll be fine.”

“Mm, tell that to dad… he won’t let me alone.”

“You did get attacked Erin… add that to your ex…. I’m not surprised he’s a little… protective.”

Erin sighs, glancing away even as she watches Abi pull on a second pair of mittens, her voice low.

“Protective? He’s…. intense. God forbid I want to live my life.”

“Maybe he’d relax more if you had a bodyguard?”

“Not a chance… besides… he wouldn’t trust anyone.”

“He trusts me.”

Erin falls silent then, considering her options, then finally steps closer, risking tucking hair from Abi’s eyes. She knows, too well, wanting something more than just company is dangerous when it comes to her father, but she does want more… a lot more.

“You… sure you can handle… him?”

“Mmm, I’ve dealt with worse.”

Abi’s smirk is soft even as she pulls Erin closer, noting Erin’s slight shiver.

“Besides, I like you… and Nicky.”

“Well then… merry Christmas to me…”

Erin’s smirk is soft even as she leans to finally kiss Abi, allowing herself to want the other woman instead of hide behind friendship. She’s wanted Abi in her life for a long time, but she had never dared to push, letting Abi come to her.

“You’ll stay… won’t you?”

“Of course.”

Abi’s voice is soft.

“Someone should make sure you don’t keep getting cold hands.”

Sometimes the topic of how Pinkie (Panko) introduced all of us to Arknights during it's second year rises and we all look back at the things we could have missed if they didn't so carefully cater to all of our likes. It feels like we were sucked into the void. Or we flied into a glue trap.

Either case, we are very happy to be a part of this.

I watched last night's FTWD and the amount of times they name dropped Alicia's name was ridiculous . ADC's shoulders must be so sore carrying two crappy shows after she leaves. She'll prob be back for the finale as well as some sort of masochistic act to these shows.

Listen after seeing her ass show up as special Alien Space Daddy Lexa after like what? 6 years? Of being off the shit show nothing would surpise me at this point. She will throw bones to these bitches writing terrible television because 1. She knows she'll collect all the checks

And 2. She's fully aware that everywhere she goes she's a fan favorite. It's like her booking agent knows she does community outreach programs for these crusty ass shows after she leaves them.

That being said if I'm speaking my truth, which I always try to do, except when I'm lying for fun, ummm I don't think she should do it? They disrespected her and the work she put into that show for years. Passing her over to become the lead of the show to shoehorn in Borgan and basically relegating her to 3rd string backup ensamble was a slap in the face considering she was the only character left from the beginning. They knew she carried that show for years after they killed off Madison and still did all that. So it very well could be that they just use her name to garner buzz for fans to keep tuning in, we've seen that shit before 🙄

Jimmy Page attended Bob Dylan's show in London on October 20, with Dylan greeting him from the stage. “I happily shake hands with Jimmy Page on my way out of the venue,” and he says smiling: “What a wonderful night this was” according to​ Johnny Borgan's blog post. Uncut Magazine also reported on Page's presence at the show, noting that fans queued up to shake his hand​ after the performance.

Review: The Queen and the Knave

Synopsis:

London, 1866

Móirín Donnelly has spent the last five years working in the shadows for the Dread Penny Society, but spending so much of her life in secret is taking a toll on her soul—and her heart.

Plot:

Moirin Donnelly was the Dread Master. A fact she kept hidden from the majority of the DPS, besides Fletcher, and something the Tempest knew about. How? Moirin had no idea, but as the Tempest began snatching up her Dreadfuls, Moirin knew she had to stop her before more members of her family disappeared. Hiding in a safe house with Brogan and Vera, Moirin began assembling her task team of fellow DPS members, who she shared her secret with of being the Dread Master. Where Borgan was initially shocked and hurt that his sister did not tell him about her role in the DPS, he understands it as he too has kept secrets from her and Vera. Part of her task team to take down the Tempest is Detective Constable Fitzgerald Parkington, and where Moirin normally does not trust the cops, there is something about Fitz that makes her believe he is here to help. Fitz became a cop to solve his own injustice of a grandfather who walked out on him, leaving him alone in the world. Looking for his grandfather, there is also something about the DPS and Moirin that draws Fitz in. Maybe it's their mission of keeping the streets of London safe, looking after the children, or maybe it's the light laugh and smile of the leader that sends Fitz’s heart racing. As the unlikely pair work together to take down the wrongness of London, they end up finding love with the hope that the Tempest will not take it away. 

Thoughts: 

Sarah Eden wows us with this final DPS novel, as we take the point of view of the Dread Master herself and the final fight against The Tempest. Taken from the point of view of both Moirin and Fitz, we got to see the two of them solve their own mysteries, fall in love, and fight the Tempest, all within this fast pace novel. After introducing us to Moirin pretty early on in the series, and revealing her role as the Dread Master at the end of the previous novel, having this story taken from her perspective really adds to the finality of the series. As seen before Moirin is an extremely strong female lead, who is capable of fighting her own battles, and who has that femininity edge of wanting to keep everyone safe and happy. Having seen from her point of view you really got to see how strong Moirin is, her sense of justice, and her kindness not only towards her brother and his wife, but the other DPS members who she sees as family. Eden really makes this the final novel by bringing back all the previous members and their loved ones. Not only do we get to hear about Borgan and Vera, but Gemma and Baz, Fletcher and Elizabeth, Hollis and Ana - everyone is here! This allows Eden not only to tell the Moirin and Fitz love story but also to wrap up other characters whose endings were a bit vague. The other perception this novel takes from is Fitz, and it made the story whole as we saw him fall in love first, whereas Moirin was a bit more unsure. With an interesting plot within the novel itself, Eden also does a fantastic job wrapping up the series leaving us with the farm and fuzzy feelings for the DPS society, knowing that all is well, for all DPS members and their loved ones.

Also remember when I mentioned that I was writing something very indulgent and selfish? Yeah, the yumeshipping is going rather well, if I can say so myself.

This is absolutely calling myself out as rabid and insane, but I am cringe, I am free and I am a writer, so I can do whatever I want in every single moment of my free time.

I also did make a meme out of it because it was too funny not to.

But then also this doodle came to fruition because I had a terrible day (the same day I got Hoederer actually) but I had to set down my phone and concentrate on a project very late into the night since I was going to travel for the rest of the week... And the doctors were so kind to be there to support me during it.

And during that same day, more things happened, but this is all I got to hear from the conversation, so I was a little confused when I did raise my head up to see this. Dr. Pinkie's always there to let you know happ day and borgan.

Earlier today Dr. Lundi streamed all the Mlynar merch she got for herself, so she also celebrated with a victory doodle for all of us to enjoy. She has so any Mlynar plushies now, I wonder if any of them could ever compare to the Nearl himself.
