Hi, I wanted to ask you what do you think about heaven and hell as a concept to a story? Personally I am not very interested in that particular concept but I was wondering with shows like supernatural, Lucifer, good omens, Hazbin hotel... Do you think it became a little redundant?
Thank you for the ask, anon. This plays some into my Media Literacy essay, so I will answer this question as a bit of a prelude.
Media is the plural form of "Medium". So when thinking about books, art, music, movies, think of them as one would a medium a la horror movie trope. A person claiming to be a medium is a conduit for a message from the spirit to the mortal realm. Likewise, media is the conduit through which the artist or creator relays a message through to an audience. Everything from the characters and their stories to the setting play a role in contextualizing this message being sent. It is to help us understand what the creator is trying to say.
Likewise, to ask if a certain conduit of meaning is redundant is to assume that there is no deeper meaning or purpose to it. Or it is to reason that the message worded this one specific way is good enough and thus should never require or be allowed to be repeated again.
Art is a language that is exceptionally complex and exists with tones, layers and nonverbal cues that can fundamentally change the meaning of what is being said. As such, would you ever consider a language to be redundant? That since every word has been spoken in every conceivable manner possible over and over again through centuries that there is no point to continue speaking that language any longer?
Obviously, my answer is no.
But to bring my point full circle, I have said "no" in roughly three different ways. I have made my opinion known in five different statements. This entire post has been saying the same thing over and over again, but in different ways that may feel redundant to you, but may open someone else to a whole new way of looking at something.
Maybe someone can better grasp what the goal of the media is now by imagining a séance. Or may appreciate it by thinking of it as a foreign language they are learning to decipher. Or even as little brain teasers of understanding themes in the media and asking themselves questions about it, even if it may seem obvious.
I think we can all agree that while these shows share similar settings, they all approach their messages from fundamentally different views. They have drastically different critiques being made and different opinions being voiced. They have different ideas and different feelings they are seeking to share. They just happen to have a similar setting (language) to say them in.
The only true type of redundancy is plagiarism.

All you "what abouts" are missing the whole point of this as hard as State Legislator.
It’s sad how much of what is taught in school is useless to over 99% of the population.
There are literally math concepts taught in high school and middle school that are only used in extremely specialized fields or that are even so outdated they aren’t used anymore!
#education#critical thinking#brain exercise#it took me 10 years to realize why i should have been paying attention in algebra#and it wasn't because an algebra problem came up at work

(grabs you by the shoulders) you have to make room for new experiences in your life. you have to go through the unpleasant work of leaving your comfort zone, even if just for a few minutes at a time. because if you don't, your brain will trick you into stagnation. you will start to believe that the world can barely fit you in it. but that's not true. it's the opposite way around. you can fit the whole word inside of you. your task is only this: to welcome it with open arms
#i know we are all neurodivergent and executive disfunction and routine disruption is kicking our ass and it's hard. but you have to.#and i dont even mean like. travel to another country i mean#take the other bus home#or buy a different tea brand#YOUR BRAIN IS A MUSCLE EXERCISE IT.

What Are The Best Activities Or Games For Brain Health
Maintaining cognitive health is critical in today's fast-paced workplace. Participating in mentally challenging hobbies and games can boost cognitive function, memory, and overall brain health. This article looks at the best activities and games that have been shown to improve brain function.
A healthy brain is necessary for a better quality of life, and engaging in brain-stimulating activities can lower the risk of cognitive decline and delay the onset of neurodegenerative illnesses such as dementia. According to research, those who participate in brain-challenging activities on a daily basis have higher memory, problem-solving skills, and focus. By regularly exercising our brains, we can promote the growth of new brain cells and improve existing neural connections.
Brain-boosting exercises and games require mental effort and stimulate a variety of cognitive functions. Puzzles, cognitive teasers, strategic board games, and memory training are among the activities offered. The idea is to choose activities that will challenge the brain and promote critical thinking.

#mine would be a coordinated museum heist utilizing the lifetimes of experience and diverse expertise of my fellow nursing home residents#also there's Karl the orderly. his skill is he drives the shuttle van#technically he shouldn't be enabling us but he thinks it's a good enrichment activity#heck debra hasn't been this excited since her son flew in from australia.#plus Karl figures formulating an elaborate heist is better brain exercise than the puzzle books they keep in the resident lounge#all the sudokus are half finished anyway#update: upon consideration my second choice is just. MASSIVE credit card fraud.

Respiration and brain activity are interlinked, forming some cortical oscillations in the human brain. Breathing is an automatic function that controls brain activity and its processes. However, recent studies show that for better functioning of brain mechanisms, the cognitive aspects of breathing must be considered.

trigunned the hades or hadesed the trigun (id in alt)
#trigun#trigun maximum#nicholas d wolfwood#vash the stampede#meryl stryfe#milly thompson#millions knives#ruporas art#type of shit ive been on lately bc ive been playing an obsessive amount of hades 2 lmfao… ofc imstead of drawing fansrt for hades#i channel that energy into trigun?😭 SEE.. the thing is. i am ALWAYS thinking about a trigun game… like an action story game#it is rotating in my brain 24/7 and now after 7billion years i finally pick up a video game#and the inspiration sparked. obviously this is just a mere mimic of an existing media... but im thinking about the plot of max now#executed differently between mediums… webbing a new retelling of the original story as game mechanics allows you - thinking of the#new roles the characters would take. like wolfwood here is not Constantly by vash’s side but he will show up once a run to clear out an#encounter. shows up seldomly at home base to make gifting difficult... an existing companion and still journeys on his own. for more#relations options merylmilly will also have occasions where they separate so vash can speak to them individually - the gungho are not bosse#most of them get the roles of giving “boons” i think.. BUT ANYWAY thats me reimagining trigun into hades. now imagining trigun into an#ORIGINAL video game.... ough... ohhh....guhh... I WANT IT SO BAD!!!!!!!!#this was just a fun exercise... im thinking about doing more but i think i shouldactually draw some hades 2 fanart first
