i like to think that percy keeps being part of relationships he doesn't know he's a part of until he randomly gets dumped. like, similar to what rachel did toward the end of the last olympian. percy will just get a call from his good friend andrew, who he met at an aquarium and bonded over turtles with, that things just won't work out between them. or a call from his good friend jessica, who he met at a coffee shop after bonding over whether or not unicorns should replace the logistics of giraffes, that she thinks he's an amazing guy but she found another partner and doesn't want to be unfaithful. and percy is just forever skeptical of every mortal friend he makes because he keeps unknowingly becoming somebody else's boyfriend.

i love stories set in dying worlds, i love stories about the end of era's i love the melancholy and bitter sweetness of seeing the end of something great. and watching the last people born into it coming to terms with the fact that they are the last that'll experience something like this ever again. maybe it's the end maybe it's the start of something a bit less magical or even more horrifically magical. they don't know but they are the last of a previous era and the pioneer's of a new one

currently writing a fanfic where thalia reflects on taking zoe's place as lieutenant. and the zoe and thalia parallels in the original series are so strong. i mean. both of their deaths were caused by their fathers. both of their deaths end with them staring up at the sky. both of their deaths lead to them being a symbol of sacrifice and heroism. both of them joined the hunt because they lost faith in a boy they cared for. both of them were trapped between a rock and a hard place. how am i just now realizing this?

apart from mlevens trying to claim the van scene as el’s genuine feelings for mike, one thing that also gets on my nerves is the way they make it seem like all of mleven’s relationship issues in s4 were resolved because mike and el had stellar “communication”....as if the second love interest didn’t do 90% of the work for them 😭 PUT SOME RESPECT ON WILL’S NAME!

Drive by bit of trivia that I think fits into your Hunger AU - Evo!Grian (pre-Watcher) was neutral in the big dispute on the server, iirc (Mafia vs Property Police) but HC!Grian (post-Watcher) ends up getting a rep for starting wars. Also, don't know if you know about Demise in HC s6, but it was kind of a precursor to the Life SMP, so you could probably use that in your fic if you want? Maybe as Grian's first "oh hey suffering tastes good" moment or something? Only if you think it fits, though.

Also 👁️ oooooh ive heard about Demise a little bit but nothing more than the name and that i think it involved collecting heads or smth??? But i could totally see that being the seed planted for the future life games-- i imagine stuff like that would be almost like LARPing in a sense, due to Player death mostly being an inconvenience, but the fear and exhilaration of being hunted down would have been so tasty. It would make sense for that to stick in Grian's brain, and give him a lowkey guiding point when scrambling to make the life series!!!

The six suddenly caring about hurting Spidey cause he's so young is funny and silly and then you make it all existential. How does Peter feel about it enemies suddenly caring about him and wanting him to have a life?

Oh, he hates it.

Peter never really had someone that knew he was so young when he started out other than like MAYBE Captain Stacy and that's a strong maybe. Even then he didn't really tell Peter as Spidey to remember his youth and enjoy it before he is fully saddled into the superhero stuff.

To have his most notorious foes suddenly try and take a distant but similar position irks him beyond belief. It reminds him too much of Stacy and way too much of Ben, who understood his need to help and how he could be misguided in it. They are a far cry from either and he'd like to keep it that way.

It makes him think about his life and that he really is too young for this despite the fact he'd never admit it to anyone. How he feels further alienated from his friends and May due to it and, yeah, it is good advice and a caring message to be young and free while you can despite the fact it's coming from someone that choke slammed him into a wall not a week ago.

When they really start laying low and allowing Peter to just exist as Peter he realizes how much he missed out while being Spider-Man; the ignorance, the stupidity, and lack of hind or foresight teens are allowed to have in most aspects of their life.

He gets to be a kid but for him, it's sort of a fight between that and the guilt-fueled responsibility that is behind the mask.
