//chocolate impressions. akaashi keiji//
Warnings: None.
Word Count: 2.8K
Notes: I’m such a simp for Akaashi like hi.  He should not be allowed to be that gorgeous?  Choke me, please. *Single Parent!/Doctor!Akaashi x reader*
*Read Part 2 HERE*
“You’re stressing out over nothing.  It’s not like you’re going to be with him alone,” Akaashi soothes, placing the hand that wasn’t holding onto the steering wheel on your thigh in an attempt to get you to stop bouncing your leg.
It was the first time that you would be meeting his son, so there was, of course, something to stress over.  What if his son didn’t like you and Akaashi broke up with you?  What if you weren’t cut out to be a step-parent?  What if Akaashi realized that you had no idea what to do around kids and decided that he should find some other woman who did?  Every hypothetical situation ran through your head, finding the worst possible outcome to conclude them all.  You had been worried about this day all week.  Akaashi had invited you to spend the weekend with him. Excited to finally be able to enjoy a peaceful weekend with your boyfriend where he wouldn’t be on call at the hospital, you were quick to agree.  There would be no phone calls in the middle of the night, begging him to come in to assist with a patient.  He would finally be able to get a good night of much needed rest and the two of you could just spend some quality time together.
But your plans for the perfect weekend when you caught sight of his calendar hanging on the side of his refrigerator one night when you were over for dinner.  There was a red circle around Friday and in Keiji’s sloppy script was “My week.”  He must’ve noticed the fall in your disposition, because he pushed the skillet to the back burner and wrapped his arms around your waist, a hum as he rested his chin on your shoulder being the only question.
“I didn’t realize that your son was going to be here too this weekend.”
“I hope you don’t mind, but he’s important to me.  I don’t want to move things further with you until he has a chance to meet you.”
There was a pause in which you couldn’t think of anything to say.  Move things further.  The fact that he saw you in his future made your heart skip a little in your chest.  This weekend was important to him and to your future together, so you were going to try your best not to disappoint.
“You’re going to have to cancel any plans that  . . . aren’t exactly PG,” he whispers, a soft kiss placed at the base of your neck.
“Damn, so we can’t play Smash Bros?”
You can feel his chest shake against your back as he laughs quietly to himself.  “No.  No, Smash Bros. until he’s back at Akiyo’s.”
The car slows down to a stop as Akaashi pulls into the driveway of his ex-wife’s house.  He hides a small yawn in the sleeve of his scrubs, climbing out of the car.  Not sure what to do, you stay in your seat.  Were you invited inside?  His ex-wife had never met you so maybe- no.
“Are you coming in?” Keiji asks, giving you a bemused look.
“Am I allowed to?”
“Am I allowed to,” he mocks.  There’s a playful eye roll as he shuts his door.  You watch him walk, anticipating him to head towards the front door, but the passenger door opens and he’s holding out his hand for you.  “Come on, princess.  Let’s go.”
You follow him up the front steps, your anxiety returning as he rings the doorbell.  He gives your hand a firm squeeze as his thumb runs over your knuckles.  “You’ll be okay,” he whispers as footsteps on the other side of the door become audible.
The door swings open to reveal his ex-wife, a polite smile on her perfectly painted lips.  “Katashi’s just getting his school stuff together.  Come in.”  Akiyo steps out of the way to let you both in and leads you both to the kitchen.  “Can I get you anything?  Tea? Water?”
“No, we’re fine.  Thank you.”
She nods, sitting down at the table across from you.  “I didn’t realize that she’d be with you,” Akiyo states as if you weren’t even there in the first place.
“Is that a problem?”
“No.  You’re allowed to bring whoever you want into your life, Keiji.”
The quickly growing tension in the air causes the environment to go quiet as the ex-spouses try to refrain from getting into a hostile argument.  Keiji’s face carries his signature frown.  You can’t remember the last time that you’ve seen him annoyed enough to look this bored with another person.  His hands are clasped tightly together on the table in front of him, his steady stare trained on his ex-wife.  Her lips fell from their polite smile and have settled into a look of distaste, hands wrapped around a steaming mug, knuckles white as her grip tightens.
This is awkward.
The steady sound of feet running down the stairs is enough to break the tension.  Keiji stands up from his chair as a boy, probably no more than eight, races through the doorway, instantly running straight into the open arms of his father.  “Dad!”
“It’s good to see you too,” Akaashi says, laughter bubbling in his chest as he runs his hand through the messy black curls on his son's head.  “We’re ready to go home whenever you are.”
“Okay!” Katashi runs over to his mom, throwing his arms around her in a quick hug, a “Bye, Mom!” leaving his mouth as he excitedly runs to the front door, his backpack bouncing against his back with every step.
“I’ll see you next week,” Akaashi says, waving politely to his ex-wife, following his son to the door.
“Thank you for the hospitality,” you say, putting on your best smile for her before joining the boys at the door, bickering back and forth at each other before they even have a chance to step outside.
“Well, I don’t see how it’s fair that you get a head start.”
“You’re older, so you have to be faster!”
“I don’t think that’s how speed works,” Akaashi argues, his hands on his hips as he stares down at his son.  “Besides, these shoes put me at a total disadvantage!”
“Then take them off!”
“But, then I have to come all the way back here to get my shoes!”
“I get a three second headstart.  Take it or leave it,” the little boy huffs, holding out his hand for his father to shake.
“Deal.  Y/N, will you hold my shoes?”  Before you even have the chance to object, Akaashi is taking his shoes off and handing them to you.  He shakes Katashi’s outstretched hand and the two get in position at the back of the porch.  “First one to get in the car wins.”
“Hey, miss! Will you start us?” Katashi asks, turning to look at you.
“Uh, sure.  Yeah, I can do that.  On your mark . . . get set . . .” The boys get down in a track starting position.  “Go!”
You hear Keiji counting to himself before running off to catch up with the younger boy who is already almost to the car.  But, his old high school athleticism kicks in and he has little problem closing the distance.  You hear hands slam against the car mere seconds apart.
“I win!” Katashi shouts, beaming at his father.
“I distinctly remember saying first to get in the car wins.  You’re not in the car.”  Katashi tugs on the handle only to find his door locked as Akaashi twirls the keyring on his finger.  “Wow.  That’s rough, buddy,” Akaashi says, unlocking his own door.
Katashi sees his slim window of opportunity and jostles Akaashi out of the way, sliding into the driver seat.  There’s a smug smile on his face.  “Now, I win.”
Akaashi’s mouth falls open and he just turns to look at you, a silent plea to help him out in his eyes, but you can’t do anything but laugh.  “It’s not his fault that you were slow, Keiji.”
“That’s not fair.”
Katashi just shakes his head in disappointment.  “That’s rough, buddy.”
You try to hold back your giggles as Akaashi shoots you a soft glare.  “He’s got your sass!”
Katashi crawls into the backseat so his father can get in the front seat next to you.  “So, are you my dad’s girlfriend?”  He asks, buckling his seatbelt.
“Yeah, I am.  I’m Y/N.  It’s really great to finally meet you.  Your dad has told me a lot about you.”
“Oh, okay.”  He sits back in his seat as Akaashi pulls out of the drive, heading in the direction of his own house.  “What are we going to do this weekend?”
“Depends.  Do you have homework?” Akaashi asks, looking at Katashi in the rearview mirror.
Katashi begins to shift in his seat and refuses to meet his father’s eyes.  “Well, not exactly. . .”
“Katashi,” he warns.
“I have extra lessons,” the boy sighs in defeat.
“Math again?”
“Yeah. . .  I can’t help it! I don’t understand division.”
Keiji sighs heavily.  This had been the last thing he had wanted to do this weekend, but it needed to be done.  “We’ll work on it after dinner, okay?”
“Yessir.”  Katashi slinks down in his seat, staring at his shoes as his cheeks flare up.
You turn around in your seat to look at the boy in the back seat.  “I used to get extra lessons all the time.”
He looks up at you, almost startled that an adult would say something like that.  You can see his eyes had begun to water, upset that he had disappointed his father.  “Really?”
“Yeah.  I was really bad at math so my teacher sent extra work home all the time.  I just had to find what kind of studying worked best for me and I eventually caught up to everyone else.  You’ll get there too.”
Keiji takes his eyes away from the road momentarily to shoot you a look of confusion.  “You never told me that you had extra lessons.”
“Oh, sorry.  I must have left ‘given supplementary lessons in second grade’ out of my Tinder bio.”
He lightly punches your shoulder.  “And you call me sassy.”
“You are!”
“You are pretty sassy,” Katashi agrees.
“I did not invite you over so you could turn my own son against me,”  Akaashi says, mock betrayal etching his voice as he pulls into his driveway.
Once inside, Katashi immediately nestles himself on the couch, the television remote in his hands so he can watch cartoons.  Keiji follows you into the kitchen, setting his briefcase down on the counter and hanging up his jacket.  He can’t even bother to change out of his scrubs before slumping down into one of the dining chairs, the exhaustion of a long work week finally taking over him.
In a matter of minutes, a steaming cup of tea is set down in front of him.  A soft sigh escapes his lips as your hands make contact with his shoulders, massaging the tired muscles.  “We could just order in tonight, if you want,” you say, watching Keiji’s form relax as you continue to release the tension from his body.  He only nods in response.  “You want your usual?”  Another nod.
“Katashi likes the Miso one,” he mutters, further melting into your touch.
“Okay.  Why don’t you go take a nap?  I’ll get you up when it’s here.”
He shakes his head, sipping his tea.  “I’m fine.  I’m just going to take a shower.”  He gets out of his seat slowly, tired eyes hiding behind a small smile.  “Thank you.”  Keiji places a soft kiss on your lips before wandering off to the bathroom.
You slump down on the couch with Katashi, the take out menu and your phone in your hands.  “Are we getting take-out?!” He asks, scooting towards you to look over your shoulder.
“Yeah.  Your dad’s really tired tonight, so we’re just going to order ramen.  Is that okay with you?”
Katashi nods.  “I like that one,” he says, pointing to one of the pictures on the little menu pamphlet.
“That’s what I always get too.”  You smile at him, dialing the number of the restaurant to place the order.  “Okay. . . Yes, that’s correct. Thank you!”  You say, hanging up the phone before turning to the boy on the couch who has, at this point, completely invaded any and all of your personal space.  “Thirty minutes.”
“Is that enough time to finish my lessons?”
“I don’t know.  Probably.  But, I thought your dad was going to help you after dinner?”
“Can you keep a secret?”
Your eyebrows furrowed together.  “What kind of secret?”
“He’s a really bad teacher,” Katashi whispers in your ear, making you giggle slightly.  Who knew that Dr. Akaashi Keiji was terrible at explaining basic math principles?  Honestly, you weren’t surprised.  His mind was so flooded with fancy medical words and the obvious secret doctor scheme to make any written prescription completely unreadable that he struggled to explain things in simpler terms when it was needed.
“Your secret is safe with me.  Go get it and I’ll see if I can help.”
Katashi runs off down the hall and returns a little later with a piece of paper and a pencil.  He sits himself down at the kitchen table and waits for you to join.  Rather than immediately sitting down, you start rummaging through the cabinets.  “What are you doing?” He asks as you start pouring chocolate chips onto a plate.
“This is how I learned how to divide.  We can always see if this helps you too.”  You sit down next to him, placing the plate down in front of him.  “Okay.  Number one.  36 divided by four.” Katashi watches as you place 36 chocolate chips in front of him.  “So, let’s think about it like this.  You have 36 chocolate chips that need to be divided evenly between you and three friends.  Four people.  We’re going to start by giving each person one chocolate chip.”  You push one chocolate chip to four different spots in front of him.  “But, we still have more, right?  So, let’s give everyone another chocolate chip.”
Katashi adds one chip to each pile.  “Do I add more?”
“Why do you add more?”
“Because I still have some here?” He says, unsure of himself.
“That’s right!  Go ahead and divide the rest out.”
Katashi nods, pushing chocolate chips into piles until all 36 have been evenly separated into four piles.  “Is that right?”
“Yes!  Very good.  Okay, so how many chocolate chips did each person get?”
You watch as Katashi counts the pieces of chocolate in each pile.  “Nine.”
“So, what’s 36 divided by four?”
“Nine.”
“Exactly.  And it works backwards too.  You have four groups of nine so how many chocolate chips are here in total?”
“36.”
“That’s right.  You’re already better at math than I was.  Let’s move on to number two.  18 divided by 6.”  You count out 18 chocolate chips and move the rest to the side.
“Everyone gets one. . .  There’s still some left, so they all get another one. . . And another one.  Three!”
“Very nice, Katashi!”
“Division is so easy.”  He takes one of the chips and puts it in his mouth.  “And delicious.”
“See?  You just had to find what worked for you.”
“You’re pretty good at this math stuff.”
“I don’t know if I’d say that, but thank you.”
The minutes on the clock tick by as chocolate chips continue to be divided into various piles.  Katashi is lost in thought as he tries to divide 24 by three.  A pair of hands come to rest on your shoulders, causing you to jump at the sudden contact.  You gaze up into Akaashi Keiji’s smiling eyes.  “Hey,” he whispers, damp hair causing droplets of water to slide down his face.  You watch his face twist from soft happiness into pure bewilderment.  “Why are there melted chocolate chips everywhere?”
“We’re dividing!” Katashi exclaims, using his chocolate covered fingers to scoot around his division tools.
“Katashi, I told you that I’d help you after dinner.”
“Y/N helped me instead,” he shrugged, writing down the answer onto his paper and moving onto the next problem.
Keiji looked down at you and shook his head.  “You didn’t have to do that.”
“I don’t mind.  Besides, now we have more time to kick your butt at Mario Kart later.”
“You’re totally going down, but okay.”
“Hey, Dad?” Katashi asks, not looking up from his hard work.
“Yeah?”
“Are you going to marry Y/N?  Because I really like her and I think you should get married to her.”
“Well, I’m glad you really like her, because I really like her too.”  Keiji reaches for your hand, giving it a loving squeeze.  He brings it to his lips, leaving a soft kiss on your ring finger.

Sammy
Words: 1.4k
Chapter Warnings: Sad Sammy, drunk dean
MASTERLIST
You looked over only to see Sam, "hey." He said sitting down next to you,  "hi." You said back as he leaned back on his hands.  "So that was hot... " He said shocking you a bit,  even when you two were together neither of you were really flirtatious,  and everyone knew it.  "What was? " You asked already knowing the answer but wanting to hear him say it.  "The whole rope swing scene... " He chuckled a bit looking down before you had time to see his blush,  he slowly inched his hands towards yours,  before slipping his pinky on top of yours,  which made your head snap down to the both of yours hands.  "Hey,  do you wanna get out of here? " He asked sounding doubtful of himself.  You simply nodded with a smile,  that's when he stood up and dusted off his pants before reaching down and offering you his hand,  you gladly took it missing the feel of his big hand wrapped around your dainty one.  But once you stood up,  you didn't let go,  you just held on while he led you to his truck,  god you missed that truck and all the memories made in it.
Once you got there you remember Jake,  "crap,  I have to go find Jake,  and tell him I'm leaving... " You said stopping as he was about to open your door,  he looked down at you lovingly,  "of course I'll wait for you. " He said smiling as he kissed your cheek.  You smiled up at him and started walking back towards the party,  "give me 5!" You threw over your shoulder. As you started running,  you were stopped before you could even get to a good pace,  by Dean,  Megan,  and Jake.  And none of them looked great.  Dean was in the middle with one arm around Megan's waist and the other over Jakes shoulder,  Jakes was on Dean's right,  with his arm slung over Dean's shoulder,  and Jake was just slumped over looking tired.  Meagan was probably the most waisted she had both arms around Dean and was leaving hickeys all over him,  which made you jealous and sick.  No!  Stop!  You can't think like that,  things with Sam might work out.  Shaking the thought from your head,  you decided none of them would be driving tonight,  sighing heavily,  you looked to Dean and said, "You guys look like crap... " "Hey at least we look better than you! " Megan exclaimed trying to through a slap at you which was easily dodged because one; you stepped back,  and two; Dean ' accidently' dropped her.
"I'm calling you guys a cab,  and Dean I'll drive you car to Jakes place,  I assume that your going home with her tonight. " You said keeping eye contact with Dean but pointing to Megan.  He just shook his head and mumbled, "nobbbody,  toucchs Babs. " Which made little sense to you,  but you assumed he meant you weren't driving his car.  "Dean it's either you leave your car here or I drive it. " You said giving him two options.  "Finee,  yo drive,  but I come wit. " I sighed and called Megan a cab,  before helping Dean and Jake to the car.
"Ok Dean,  stay here,  don't try driving this car.  You hear me Winchester. " He nodded with a big goofy smile.  "Ok." You went to lean out of the car,  before Dean grabbed your arm,  dragging your focus to him,  the close proximity was making you as red as a tomato you were sure.  "Yes Dean? " You ask both fearing the answer and feeling excited for it,  "Your cute when your bossy, " He giggled,  yes he giggled.  "Boop." He said said poking your nose,  you slapped his hand away,  before leaning out of the car,  already missing the closeness of Dean.  Closing the door you called Sam,  knowing you'd have to cancel
~Phone Call~
"Hey babe, is everything ok? " He asked,  the cute nickname he had given you coming back to life.  "Yeah...  Hey Sam,  I'm so sorry but I'm going to have to make a rain check... " You said biting your lip,  in anticipation waiting for his answer.  "Ok... " He said a little disappointed, making you frown.  "How about tomorrow? You can pick me up at Jakes at let's say 3: 30? " You asked a little hopeful, suspecting he'd agree.  "Yeah,  I'll be there! " He said with happiness turning your frown upside down.  "Ok see you then. " You said ready to hang up,  when you hear those three words you thought you'd never hear directed at you from Sam again,  "hey (y/n).  I... I love you. " Silence.  That's  it.  Silence,  and when you couldn't say it back,  or even feel butterflies in your stomach,  you knew.  You didn't love him anymore.  No matter how much you wanted to you couldn't,  but you couldn't hurt him either,  he had been so good to you.  "Yeah,  goodnight Sam.  See you tomorrow. " You said hanging up before he could reply.
Driving back home,  you felt awful.  It used to be so easy,  saying "I love you. " To Sam,  it was like second nature.  But you can't,  not anymore.  You can't hurt him like that.  But you couldn't hurt him even more by saying you didn't love him anymore. So you decided to fake it till you make it!  Looking over to a sleeping Dean was a nice sight.  He looked so peaceful, so worry free,  and all you wanted to do was reach over and touch him.  But you couldn't,  you refrained,  plus he was probably dating Megan now,  and you did not want to know what would happen if she found out you kissed him,  let alone touch him.
Shaking the thought from your mind,  you pulled up to Jake's cabin.  He was renting it for the summer from a friend of his that he worked with.  He never really explained his job to you,  but you never really asked.  Helping the two giant men inside,  you sat them down at the table,  watching Jake lay his head back down,  while dean rubbed his eyes made you giggle.
"Ok,  boys!  How about a sandwich and a little water! " You said enthusiastically trying to annoy at least Dean,  "shhh!!! " He whisper yelled at you,  "keep it down! " Handing Jake and him a glass of water,  you sat down some Advil in front of them as well,  "drink." Was all you said before turning around facing the counter.  Making three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,  you brought them back to the table,  seeing that both of them took their pills,  and drank some water,  were fully awake.  You sat the plates in front of them,  "thanks." They each mumbled,  stuffing their faces.  You laughed watching them scarf down their food in a matter of minutes.  "What? " Dean asked mouth full. "Can you eat any faster? " You asked him raising and eyebrow.
"No. No I can not. " He replied taking another bite,  which made you giggled.  "I like your laugh. " He said mouth now empty.  You blushed.  Yep,  you were in love.  You threw that thought out of the window as well as all your lust for this man.  You just stood up before making your way to the stairs,  "well good night guys,  I'm going to sleep. " You said going up the stairs.  "Night." Jake said continuing with his sandwich.  Dean watched you until he couldn't see you anymore.
"Did I say something wrong? " Dean asked. "Nah probably not,  she's just cranky sometimes. " Jake replied obviously still a bit buzzed.  Dean just looked down at his plate a confused look on his face.   "Well night bro,  there's blankets in that closet over there, " Jake said point towards a closet on the other side of the live room,  "hope you don't mind taking the couch! " Jake said already halfway up the stairs,  Dean just shook his head as to say,  "not at all. " Dean got a blanket and laid down on the couch,  closing his eyes trying to sleep.  'Good luck with that... '  he thought to himself,  'There's no way I can get any sleep if (y/n) 's in the same house. '

Hopeless (fanfic) Ch.1
Title: Hopeless Characters: Jinyoung, Jaebum, Alice (OC) Chapter 1
Can also find this story here on AFF
Humans. Human's are the most intelligent beings on the planet, but that does not mean we are flawless. In fact, we are full of flaws, but we work on these flaws, we learn, and we change, that's how it works. We make mistakes we regret, we make the wrong choices. This is what this story is about.
Infidelity.
Dishonesty.
Love.
Pain.
I was in the bathroom finishing up my make-up since I had a date tonight. My boyfriend and I had planned this about a week ago, we agreed we had been too pre-occupied by work and not spending enough time together. If we weren't working we were usually just lazing around at home, gaming or sometimes he would go out with friends or invite his friends over. So yes even though we lived together we still didn't give each other a proper amount of attention. As I was applying the last up my make-up my phone starts ringing, it was him.
"Hey babe! I'm almost ready, when will you be here?"
"What? Oh..I was just calling to let you know I'm watching a game tonight with my friends,"
"Um...no, we have a date tonight,"
"Oh shit...I forgot! Sorry babe I promised them last night tha-"
"you promised me a week ago! just cancel and tell them we have a date tonight..."
"babe it would rude to break a promise on friends like that"
I grew furious, this wasn't his first time doing this "Jaebum...are you fucking with me right now? It's okay to break promises with me but not your friends? You always do this shit,"
"Babe chill it's-"
"No no no, don't tell me to chill, whatever do what you want...you know what don't even come home tonight."
I hung up the phone and smacked my make up off the counter before walking out to the living room, pacing back and forth to calm myself. He's been doing this a lot lately, he always cancels last minute with some dumb excuse. Bros before hoes right? "Ugh!" I yelled in frustration.
I sat down on my computer and opened up my discord application, clicking on the server my online friends and I made game together and talk.
AliceTheBunny69: ugh I'm so pissed off right now!!!
wildnsexy328: Wassup??
Alicethebunny69: my boyfriend canceled on our date again, he keeps doing this, this time the "boys" wanted to watch a game together and god forbid if you cancel plans on your bros, right?
randodude100: hate to be that guy but are you he's seeing "the boys"?
someguy2: ....yeah I agree with rando that's kind of suspicious
wildnsexy328: ....
alicethebunny69: tbh...I've been a bit suspicious but I'm scared to find out...
wildnsexy328: does he let you see his phone? maybe you can pretend to be playing on his phone or smth and check if there's anything?
gamergirl22: my ex bf hated when I touched his phone, i mean i respect privacy but the way he acted when i touched his phone got me suspicious of him,I later found out he had been cheating on me with my best friend.
alicethebunny69: ugh he used to leave his phone laying around and never had a pw on it, but idk he suddenly put a lock code on it and won't tell me what it is...he only let's me play with his phone if he's next to me
randodude100: yup he's most likely cheating...
wildnsexy328: oooh are we about to do some secret agent shit and invetigate??? Agent Jackson here to save the day!
alicethebunny69: Jackson....I think you're right, I'm going to see whats up, I'll talk to you guys later!
I logged up and grabbed my phone. I decided to call one of Jaebum's friends who was close to the both of us. He picked up pretty quickly when I called "Noona! What's up?"
"Hey Youngjae, so don't tell Jaebum I called okay? But I wanted to know, is there anything going on tonight?"
"No not really...what's wrong?"
"none of the guys are getting together for some game or whatever?"
"not that I know of- I don't think there's any games going on that we care about tonight, besides most of them have work tonight,"
I pursed my lips and sighed "okay so, I don't want Jaebum knowing I called you or anything, okay? But can you see if the guys are up to anything and get back to me?"
"um, sure I'll text you, is there something going on?"
"I hope not, I hope I'm just overthinking...anyway I'm hanging up, thank you," I hung up the phone and bit down on my lip nervously. I felt my stomach twist as I thought about whether he was cheating or not. I walked over to my fridge and pulled out a bottle of water. I twisted the cap off and began gulping it down. I soon got a text from Youngjae.
"They're all either busy, or at home with their parents...Except Yugyeom, he said he's out to party at the club or something"
Why did he lie? I took a deep breath and sent him "thank you"
Maybe he's out with Yugyeom? I thought. If he wanted to go clubbing he knows he I don't mind, hell we could have gone together even, so why would he cancel on me? I groaned in frustration and started pacing again, my heart was racing.
"Wait...I know which clubs they usually go to...maybe I can find out if I go," I called a taxi and put my shoes on before heading outside. When the taxi arrived I got in and told him to drop me off in Gangnam. The road took about half an hour to get to since we lived a bit far away from Gangnam. I paid the taxi when we arrived and I got out the first place I went to was a club Yugyeom frequented. I got in and began looking around for either Yugyeom or Jaebum. It took a while of me moving around through everyone until I spotted them.
I went home that night regretting that I had gone to find him at all. As soon as I got home the first thing I did was get into bed under my blanket, hugging my teddy bear. The images of him all flashed through my head as I began to tear up.
There was, dancing, not with Yugyeom, not by himself. He was dancing with a girl, grinding her up, feeling her up. She turned to face him and they started making out as he squeezed her stupid little non-existent ass. Rage grew within me but I just stood there. I watched it go on for a while before I rushed out of the club and took a taxi home, the whole ride I was angry. I felt betrayed.
But that feeling of anger soon turned to loneliness. I started questioning everything, mostly myself.
Where did I go wrong? Am I not attractive anymore? Does he hate me? Am I too boring? Just why? Why does he feel like he needs to go and see other girls? We even talked about marriage on time, was that all just talk? What happened to us?
I remember when were piratically inseparable. He asked me out in our senior of high school and people would always tease us about how we were always together. Like that one time...
We were sitting outside on one of the schools benches during lunch, I was feeding Jaebum and he fed me. He then pulled me into his lap and placed a fruit between his teeth. I knew what he was waiting for. I chuckled and leaned in taking a bit from the strawberry before we kissed softly. "gross, get a room" one of our friends, Mark, interrupted us and we laughed. I chewed and swallowed the strawberry "this could be you but you're to dense to notice that your crush is head over heals for you, just ask her out already!" I chuckled before kissing Jaebum again "wait-...what?! She likes me?! Hey guys... guys! Stop kissing and listen to me, you're not lying right?" I tried to break the kiss to reply but Jaebum didn't let me pull always, he gestured for Mark to go away already.
I really missed that. What happened since then?
At this point I started sobbing heavily into my bear, tears pouring out of my face as I screamed into my bear. What do I do now? I love him too much I don't want to break up.
So many thoughts went through my head before I finally fell asleep.
"Hey, babe, wake up," I woke up a bit when I heard his voice as he pulled the blanket off of me "Jesus...were you crying?" I opened my eyes and saw Jaebum grabbing a tissue, trying to wipe my make up off. I turned on the back, facing my back towards him and he let out a sigh.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to make you cry, I want to make it up to you today, so please get up I want to take you somewhere, so go wash your face I'll be waiting in the living room,"
I was trying to be stubborn and not listen to him. I stayed about ten minutes thinking about it. "So what if he cheated? I'll just work harder and maybe we can fix things...people fall into temptations sometimes right? I'll let him tell me about it once he feels he's ready, for now let's pretend nothing happened." I told myself. I know I was only fooling myself but I had so much hope that it could work out, I love him.
I got off the bed and wiped off my makeup and decided to just apply some eyeliner and lip gloss, I stayed in the clothes I had worn last night and just fixed myself up before heading to the living room. He got up and smiled at me pulling me in for a hug before pressing his lips against mine. He then rested his forhead against mine and closed his eyes "I'm sorry I keep making you cry, I don't blame you if you hate me, but for now let's just go out on a date, yeah? We can talk things out..."
I nodded "okay..."

Mary Poppins Diary 2018
well hello There, I had diary of the show last year, so I'm making one this year, or at least I'm starting it, I won't continue it until we get into the opera house on Thursday, so in 4 days, also I don't have much down time in the show, so idk if it'll be longer or not, and similar to last time there's a hurricane a-comin, hurricane Florence is apparently going to hit North Carolina hard, it won't be as close to us as irma, but we will probably get some bad weather, oh also, do you remember noah from the last show, he is playing Bert in this show. Welp that is enough introduction so... se ya Thursday!
Surprise I'm back, they are reworking step in time... a week and a half before the show..... UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!
In other news, there is a big group chat (like last time) and it's a bit bigger now, there is: holden, caraline, Lillian, savanna, cadence, noah, lolly, kane, Damaris, Bethany, mary grace, Clara grace, Brenley, kasha*, Lydia*, Cassie*, hope*, caleb* and Zoë* (* means they are new)
ALSO we have 2 sets of Janes and Michaels. So that's a little bit of an introduction, so ye, NOW I WILL SEE YOU AT THE OPERA HOUSE.
    _____________________________________________
Hi, it's the next day, I've decided that Imma still update it a little before we get to the opera house. Hurricane Florence is now a category 4, and South Carolina has evacuated its coast, o boi. Also we aren't moving into the opera house on Thursday like I thought, we move in on Saturday.
Im at rehearsal right now, they are about to start practically perfect. Clara grace isn't here so margo is having to say her lines from the audience. Mortimer and I had a long conversation about video games; his favorite is Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, mine is Super Paper Mario. Winston and Holly are playing Jane and Michael Oh shoot, gotta be on stage, I'll be back.
Im back, hi. The bank scene is next and i have to be in that, they are doing spoonful of sugar now, holden is KILLING it as Robertson Ay so that's good, aight gotta go
Im back again, it's feed the birds right now, and I think I'm going to finish with the diary for today. So see ya tomorrow.
Hi actually another thing happened, someone is filling in for Clara Grace, she is doing ok surprisingly (considering she hasn't done this for 2 months like CG, and that she is a fair bit younger, so I am pleasantly surprised) ok NOW im gonna end it here, today was a lot.
WELL IM BACK AGAIN, Carrie Elaine FRICCIN ROCKED IT AS MISS ANDREW.
  _____________________________________________
Hi, I'm back at rehearsal, we are about to run the show. The talking is way worse than normal, and I'm not feeling well; so rip today. The new Nintendo direct is hopefully coming out on Thursday, last week a huge earthquake hit Japan so they had to cancel it, which was the best thing to do in that situation. Either way, they are doing jolly Holiday, so ye.
I just did the scene where I yell at the kids, the anger in it skyrocketed, and the book slamming perfectly only multiplied that anger, which sounds bad, but it was actually really good; I actually think I scared Everyone on stage
  _____________________________________________
Hiya, it's Wednesday now, not much has happened today, there wasn't a rehearsal today, so tomorrow is our last day before we get to the opera house
  _____________________________________________
Today is the last day before we move into the opera house, they are doing a flying rehearsal tomorrow but I don't fly so I want be able to tell how that will go, there is normal rehearsal tonight, we have 5 days until media night and 6 days until the show, so hell week (tech week) has officially started
Im at rehearsal now, the fly guy, Marquee, is here and all of the props and set have been moved to opera house. I'm STRUGGLING without my umbrella. Oh also the Nintendo direct came out today and Isabelle from animal crossing is in smash bros so I'm HYPED. They are about to do jolly holiday. We haven't been able to condense the show into an hour and 15 minutes yet, and that is our max time for the school shows, so that is extremely stressful. Amelia is being adorable as ever, god I love her, we haven't gone on another date in a few weeks so we need to do that after the show is over
Marquee seems impressed so far, we are at supercalifragilisticexpialidocious now, the show is going well so far
I just did the yelling scene, Marquee is taking notes, that's both good and stressful.
Mrs Andrew is singing her song now, Marquee was really impressed with the last note, we are about to start fly a kite, trisha is doing better as Jane, ok I gotta go on stage soon
Ok, rehearsal is over and the next is gonna be in the opera house, I got sauce containers for my accio sauce; I will be eating in my dressing room a lot and ranch gets everywhere so Imma just bring the  accio (also noah may want to try some). Hurricane Florence is hitting land now, North Carolina has declared a state of emergency, I hope Abbie doesn't get too bad of weather.
  _____________________________________________
Well hi, so today was stressful. Imma get all the good stuff out of the way first, so, amelia and I went on a date today so that was good. And that's all the good stuff done, NOW THE STRESSFUL STUFF.
          ༼strong language is used here༽
Today was a cluster fuck. The new staff at the opera house has no clue what they are doing and can't think ahead far enough for anything to get done. So for starters the stage left stairwell is being remodeled, and the ensemble dressing rooms are under the stage, that means that anyone who is in show that enters from stage left has to walk behind the god damn psych. And in the event of a fire, they won't have an easy exit, because the pit doors are usually locked during shows, and the stage right staircase is a spiral. And what is the opera house doing about this? Jack fucking shit. Also the school shows are being fucked up too, some idiot thought it would be a fucking brilliant idea to have the school buses park 2 blocks north of the actual opera house on an unpaved road. That means that 1000 elementary school children will be walking in a line to and from the buses for 30 minutes before and after the show FOR 2 BLOCKS DOWNTOWN, and we don't even know if the weather will be good or not, if it rains then to fucking bad, those kids have to walk in the rain. Because why not, it's not like there is a HUGE parking lot for the civic center across the street that has been more than welcome to hold the busses OH FUCKING WAIT THERE IS. The fire Chief almost had to cancel the show because the opera house crew can't actually finish the INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT FIXES before the show. NOT TO MENTION THE HANDICAPPED ENTRANCE IS ACTUALLY BLOCKED OFF BY THE CONSTRUCTION. AND NO ONE THOUGH THIS WAS POSSIBLY A BAD IDEA. The city isn't doing anything about it either, what can they do, none of the new opera house staff will respond to their calls. And I get that they are busy but the previous staff had all the work done for them, they've just been sitting there with their thumbs up there asses for A MONTH finishing none of the work and only making their jobs HARDER. I just don't understand how a group of adults can fuck up so badly to endanger the lives of not only all of the 88 kids in the cast, but the 1000 that are going to just be walking the streets during school shows and not have one person, just one person, say "hey what if instead... we didn't" also the renovation to the stage left stairwell is purely to make a new room, there are no structural readjustments or improvements being made.
༼ok im done yelling and cussing now༽
So yeah, today sucked, I have my first rehearsal in the opera house in over a year tomorrow, so YEET
  _____________________________________________
So today is my first rehearsal in the opera house, im getting ready to leave soon.
Cherry tree lane just ended, we are now working with flight so that is fun, we are having to re block some scenes to work around it. Holden actually hit his head on the desk this time so that ain't good they are working a scene change right now. The curse of the opera house, everything that seems to be going well suddenly isn't and has to be changed. They are about to start jolly holiday, I gotta get to stage left now
Ok so it's spoonful of sugar right now and the moving around is stressful,
ok so they are doing feed the birds and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious now, next is intermission, this show is extremely stressful, and having no stage left is... oh boy. We haven't even gotten to intermission yet and we've been rehearsal for an hour and a half
rehearsal is almost over, they are working on the flying parts
  _____________________________________________
Im heading to rehearsal now, we are doing act 2 and whatever else we can today. The stress is really getting to everyone, Lillian almost had an emotional breakdown all throughout yesterday.
Both holden and I actually did have an emotional breakdown, we hugged and both almost cried. It's gonna get better though, tech week is always the most stressful. I have a lot to do when I get there, I have to get my makeup on, then my costume, then my mic, then who knows what else .
Hi im at rehearsal, in costume.
Ok so we just finished the show and are doing it again, Winston and Holly are now Jane and Michael. Ok imma check and see if im needed
Im back home, and a FRIPP ton of stuff has happened; for starters, Carrie Elaine almost died, not exaggerating either, her flight was horrible, she was sideways and nearly slammed her head on the balcony. Noah was basically drunk after the run through due to his harness being so incredibly painful.
  _____________________________________________
It's spoonful currently, Andrew is changing right now next is the bank scene, Andrew looks like a freaking albino raccoon because of the makeup.
I just did the bank scene and Andrew is still getting his makeup off. im sitting in my dressing room for the next few scenes and intermission. They recording aswell, also I just learned that a piano is a percussion instrument and I don't know how I feel about that. But now my question is, what type of instrument is an electric keyboard, like is it wind, string, or percussion, I know that there is brass, woodwind and keyboard, but like the three basic types. Also I hate the fact that there is a "keyboard" type I mean like all of the keyed instruments can be placed into other categories other than the electronic keyboard, organs are wind, pianos are apparently percussion, accordions are wind, so why make a specific type?
Act 2 has started, and there have been a few hiccups here and there but so far, it's good. The audience is enjoying it too. My feet are killing me.
   _____________________________________________
Today is media night, oh boi. Media night is always cursed, and we open on Wednesday, another cursed day
Im in costume the entire main cast is jamming out to Africa, take on me, boogie wonderland, and we're not gonna take it. We were gonna listen to jimmy buffet but other people had to change so rip. A PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL CONTACTED AMELIA, IM SO HAPPY!
Ok house is about to open.
I'll update the journal later, my phone is at 6 percent
I ran directly into a wall.
 _____________________________________________
  OPENING NIGHT
I'm heading to the opera house now, amelia is gonna watch it tonight, and considering that until recently she didn't even know that people could fly on stage, she will LOVE it.
I just carried Winston, also we can't have our phones on during the show, it's interfering with the mics.
Act 2 just started and a cable has broken, marry and mrs Andrew can't fly for the rest of the night, bert still can but still.
Other than the lack of flying the show went very well.
  _____________________________________________
 _____________________________________________
Hi it's 2 days later, flying is working again, we have already done 2 shows today, and are about to do a 3rd one, someone is stealing some of the costume pieces, Lillian's apron and gloves are missing and hope's apron was found in someone else's dressing room. Lillian had to take all of her clothes with her when she left so it won't get stolen.
We are heading to the show, dancing queen just came on the radio so yEET. During the break between shows today, Andrew and I listened to music in our dressing room, he tried to squat on top of the trashcan.
School shows were fun today, we had to cut jolly holiday because of time.
 _____________________________________________
Hey so is the final day and there were two shows today and both were really good, noah didn't knock over the vase in the second show and I played it off and he did too and the scene continued and it was AMAZING. Also in the first show the flying kite didn't work. Abbie was here for them and really liked the shows, ALSO ALSO tate and trisha really stepped up their game for the last show, and it really worked. IN THE FINALE HOLDEN KISSED HOPE ON THE CHEEK AND I FREAKING LOVED IT. Andrew strapped a bunch of wire hangers to himself to try and conduct electricity. Lillian was bawling and it was really sad, she was literally born to play mary poppins, and now it's over. But like actually though, Lillian just actually looks like Julie Andrews, the hair, the face, the VOICE, etc. It's gonna be hard to not do this show anymore but not as hard as others. But I'll make another diary soon, for next show. I guess you can say "the showS must go on". Also my favorite part of this was watching noah walk up the opera house proscenium during step in time.
  _____________________________________________
and now i guess it's over, this show was incredibly fun, but incredibly stressful, from the opera house construction, to the rivaling theater companies, to the costumes being stolen. All in all, I don't want to start the show over, nor do I want to do one more show, I want to be done and be ready to move forward, and to remember this show as a good memory, not a bad one. So that's what I'm gonna do.
 I'll make more diaries soon.

Hi! I have an idea for a prompt! I know I'm a day late, so no rush whatsoever and feel free to take it or not :) It's for a Sans/Readr/Paps. Your sister and her husband have to be away for the weekend or smth and ask you to take care of their baby/toddler (whatever you think fits best for the story). So they take the child to your house where you live with the bros, but then you have to go out for a bit to take baby things, and they are left alone with the kid. They freak out, funny times ensue
here ya go, it’s my birthday so i figured i would give you the gift of a terribly overdue update!!!!
Pairing: Sans/Reader, Papyrus/Reader
Summary: A weekend with your nephew didn’t sound so bad to the skelebros. Maybe they should’ve read more parenting books.
“So you guys really don’t mind?”
“OF COURSE NOT. WE ARE EXCELLENT COMPANY.YOUR PRECIOUS NEPHEW WILL FINALLY KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE CARED FORPERFECTLY! WE HAVE PREPARED THE ULTIMATE DAY OF ULTIMATE FUN FOR SUCH ANOCCASION.”
You shot him a halfhearted smile. Papyrus’confidence almost always made you feel better, but you were a little nervousabout this. It wasn’t as if you didn’t trust the brothers, but they could be alittle…eccentric. As far as you knew, neither of them were well-versed incaring for a child, let alone a human one. Both were still vastly impressed anddisgusted with your bodily functions, which you could control, so having anunpredictable toddler around the house for the day seemed like…
“heh, don’t stress yourself so much. we gotthis.”
You observed them. Papyrus had on his childsafety gear prepped, which included taping a lot of pillows to his body so noneof his joints would end up hurting anyone. Because the brothers were…literallyskeletons, they had some parts that jutted out and could poke or stab if youweren’t careful enough. Papyrus would dress himself up in attire that spokevolumes about how gently he was going to treat this kid.
“Awesome. Thanks, guys. I know that this iskind of last minute.”
Your nephew was supposed to come by nextweek, but his mom and dad had some major things come up. Some business tripsgot moved around, some flights cancelled, and you were their last hope. Youdidn’t mind so much, but you were going to run it by your boyfriends first. Thiswas a relationship founded on open and honest communication, after all.
“SO WHEN SHOULD WE EXPECT HIM TO ARRIVE?”
You glanced at the clock. “In a few hours. When they get here, I’ll introduce you.”
Sans grinned and shoved his hands in hispockets, the pinpricks of light in his sockets flaring to life. “we’re gonnahave lots of fun.”
“You’d better not corrupt my nephew, Sans.If he learns a pun from you, I’m breaking up with you.”
“heh heh heh.”
In the short time before your nephew wasdropped off, you and Papyrus perused through the house to make sure everythingdangerous was put away. Anything knee-high was blocked off or sealed up.Papyrus was the one who crawled around on his hands and knees to make sure youdidn’t miss anything, while Sans’ idea of helping was to give half-assed wordsof encouragement from the living room couch.
The doorbell rang and you did your best tobrush the dust bunnies out of your hair before you answered. Sans beat you toit, having shuffled over clad in his signature slippers and that harmless smileon his face.
Your sister looked down at him and inhaledsharply, a little baffled at his presence. She had only ever seen him get upfrom the couch to his seat at the dining table when they stopped by for dinner,so it must’ve been a shock to see him up and about.
“Hi, Sans.”
“heya. c'mon in.”
Your sister paused and glanced over hershoulder. From this angle, you could see a pair of small, chubby hands wrappedaround her leg.
“Sweetie, it’s okay.” She bent down toscoop him up and he clung to her upper half, squeezing tight and burying hisface in the crook of her neck. “Sorry, guys. He just woke up from a nap so he’skind of grumpy.”
“He’s also never seen the new house before.Or met the skelebros,” you ventured. “Sans, Papyrus, this is Moo.”
“MOO?”
The toddler glanced up with shining eyes atthe sound of his name. On top of his head was a spotted, black-and-white capcomplete with floppy ears and tiny horns.
“He likes cows.”
“oh my god.” Sans succeeded in holding inhis laughter.
His mom and dad came in for just a fewminutes. They’d done their best to tell Moo that he would be staying with you,and considering you were his favorite aunt, he was totally cool with that. Butthe two strangers were still a little bit of an unknown for him, so he stuck tohis mom’s side the entire time.
“He should be okay until dinner. I’ve got abunch of spare clothes for him just in case he has an accident, but he shouldtell you when he needs to go.”
“You’re potty-trained, Moo? You’re such abig boy!”
He nodded and took a step away from hismom. The both of you continued to chat while Moo decided to explore the rest ofthe house on his own. His bare feet resting along the hardwood floors, hesquatted down to inspect a pair of shiny sneakers that belonged to none otherthan Papyrus himself.
“HELLO! I SEE YOU’VE SPOTTED MY SHOES!WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY THEM ON?”
Moo plopped down in response. Papyrus washappy to join him on the floor. Instead of tearing his shoes off, he insteadpulled apart the laces and loosened them up enough for the canvas material tostretch out.
Papyrus tore them off one by one andgrinned. “THERE WE GO, AND HERE YOU ARE. GIVE THEM A TRY.”
Moo looked down at his feet and raised aleg up.
“think he wants you to put ‘em on, bro.”
“OH!!! OF COURSE. HOW SILLY OF ME. HERE YOUARE, KING MOO. THE MOST DELICATE OF SLIPPERS TO ADORN YOUR FEET.”
You had to admit, it was adorable as hell.He and Papyrus seemed to be okay with each other. And although Sans didn’t wantto admit it, he was keeping an eyesocket on both of them to make sure thatnothing happened. If anything, it was more of a precaution for what-ifs ratherthan just him being overprotective. Because, like you said, kids were wildsometimes and could snap at any moment.
Proud of his new shoes, Moo did his best topush himself up and balance despite his feet being wayyy too small inside.Papyrus kept a gentle hand on his back while he flopped on over to his parentsto show them what he’d done.
“Oh, Moo! They look great on you!”
He beamed, proud of his work. “Mama! Apitcher!”
She fished out her phone and snapped one ofhim. He stretched out to grab it before she could even bend down to show him, marveling at the screen and swiping left and right. How kids adapted so quicklyto technology these days was beyond you.
It only took a few more minutes before hisparents left. You kissed your sister on the cheek and saw her off, promisingthat Moo would have a great time with you and the bros.
Well. Unfortunately, it looked like the onething your sister forgot to pack were snacks.
You thought you would be prepared for thiskinda thing. But after rushing to the kitchen once Moo started going on aboutwanting his favorite juice – pear, as it was – you realized that none of whatyou bought earlier in the week was going to suffice. In fact…as you rummagedthrough the empty boxes of cereal stuffed in the cabinets, you realized thatyou were completely cleaned out. What the hell!
“Sans, where are the fruit snacks in theshape of animals?”
“the frooty tooties? ate ‘em.”
“MORE LIKE HE CHEWED THEM UP UNTIL THEYWERE SQUISHY AND THEN USED THEM AS POSTER PUTTY TO HANG HIS NEW BLUEPRINTS UP!”
“Please tell me that’s a lie.”
“that’s a lie.”
“WAIT. HIS STATEMENT IS A LIE. BUT IF HE’SLYING ABOUT LYING, THEN DOES THAT MAKE IT A TRUTH?”
“Papyrus, no.”
“yes.”
“WHO DO I BELIEVE???”
You knew that you had to go out and getsome more age-appropriate snacks. Papyrus’ bone-shaped crackers were not goingto be a good combo for a kid who would’ve shoved as many as he could’ve downhis throat. That and the recipe was specifically made for making sure that theskeletons were calcified all to hell, which might’ve been a little weird tofeed a human child. Who knew what kind of repercussions would come out of that.
“Moo, follow me for a sec, okay?” You tookhim by the hoof – err, hand – and led him to the living room. He was alreadybouncing and looked restless. You had no clue when his last meal or snack was,but you weren’t ready to deal with the aftermath just yet.
It was kind of a crappy thing to do, butyou needed some time to talk to the boys in private. So you flicked on the TVand let him busy himself with the mindless chatter of some educationalcartoons.
“Okay, guys. We need a game plan.”
“EXCELLENT. I’LL GRAB MY JOURNAL. ONEMOMENT!” Papyrus rushed out of the room.
Every week Papyrus would pick his best mealfrom an array of dishes he cooked over the week, take about a day to create aphotorealistic painting of it, and then put it on the wall to cover a wall safefull of his most precious treasures. The safe was your idea, so that the dogsnooping around wouldn’t get into his figurines any more. Sans was the one whosuggested switching out the cover so people wouldn’t get suspicious. Why thatseemed logical, you would never know.
After snatching the book, Papyrus returnedto the kitchen for your huddle. He was focused, pen in his gloved hand, eyesockets narrowed, ready to strike the page with copious notes andillustrations.
“whaddid you wanna talk about, babe?”
“Moo needs snacks, since you so graciouslydecided to relieve him of those.”
“yer welcome.”
You sniffed. “Anyways, I need you guys torun to the store and pick him up some stuff. I’ll keep an eye on him here whileyou’re gone.”
“OF COURSE. BRILLIANT. I WOULD EXPECTNOTHING LESS FROM MY OTHER HALF.” Papyrus dotted his i’s and crossed his t’s,his careful penmanship a marvel even from all the way where you stood. “I, FORONE, AM GLAD TO EXPLORE THE BELLY OF THE BEAST OTHERWISE KNOWN AS SOOPERSAVERS!THEY EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN SPICE AISLE. HOW EXCITING.”
“sure, we’ll get in and out in under twentyminutes.” Sans winked.
That mischievous look on his face wasenough to put a wrench in your plans. “Okay, wait a second. I think I decidedtoo fast. Papyrus, we can’t trust Sans to go with anyone to the store. Rememberlast time? He locked you in the freezer for an hour.”
Papyrus gasped. “OH, NO. I HAD ALMOSTFORGOTTEN THOSE TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE MEMORIES!!! THE LOOK OF ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT ONTHE CARTOON COWS’ FACES AS I RESTED AMONG THE DAIRY. THEY SILENTLY JUDGED MYBONE DENSITY AND TEMPTED ME WITH WHISPERS OF CALCIUM INFUSED DRINKS!!!”
Sans kept his downright devilish grin, causing a sweat to bead on his brother’s forehead.
“DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, SANS.”
“well, you n’ me could go.” Sans swunghimself up on the kitchen counter. You weren’t sure how he managed to do thatgiven he was short as hell, but it was best not to question him and his casualabuse of physics. “my bro could stay here with the kid, and you’d make sure iwas on my best behavior.”
“HMM, TRUE. THOUGH THAT WOULD LEAVE ME ATQUITE THE DISADVANTAGE, AS MOST OF MY ACTIVITIES REQUIRE THREE PEOPLE! WE ARETRYING TO MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION ON MOO, SANS.”
“That and we would never get anythingdone.” You left it at that. You weren’t going to sit there and give him thesatisfaction of mentioning what happened on June 15th. You still hada scar in the shape of a bite mark that refused to go away, no thanks to him.
“WELL, WE COULD LEAVE SANS HERE ALONE ANDDO THE SHOPPING BY OURSELVES.”
You and Papyrus exchanged looks, then burstout laughing. Yeah, right. The entire house would be in shambles by the timeyou got back.
“hey, i resent that…you’re completelyright.”
You snorted. “Okay, so that’s one moreoption down. I guess this leaves one solution. Papyrus, Sans….are you two okayto stay here and watch Moo by yourselves for about an hour?”
Papyrus was quick to agree. Sans shruggedit off.
“WITH MY FAMILIARITY OF THE HOUSE, I WILL HAVENO TROUBLE DEFENDING MYSELF FROM SANS’ PRANKS. AND WE WILL SURELY BE ABLE TOCOMPLETE AT LEAST THREE PUZZLES WITH ALL OF US PARTICIPATING.”
“you gonna be ok buying groceries byyourself, babe?”
“I should be good. I’m more concerned aboutyou guys. But if you’re sure you can handle it, then I would really, reallyappreciate it.”
They both perked up. Any mention of yourapproval sent a pleasant shiver through their bones. Mostly because they lovedyou so much that making you happy was probably one of the only goals theyshared in life. (That and making sure they never missed an episode of the showall of you adored: Tales of the Aboveground, where monsters from all overshared their experiences of living on the surface.)
“THEN IT’S SETTLED. GOODBYE! WE WILL SEEYOU IN A BIT!”
“Hey, wait—”
You barely had a chance to get another wordout before you were shoved outside the front door, your bag magicallypositioned on your shoulder and keys around your fingers. You wanted to givethem some last minute advice, but the absolute Determination on their facesspoke volumes about their commitment to this. They would get through themorning without you and they weren’t going to take no for an answer.
Papyrus made sure to lock the door with aquick flick of his wrist, turning the small button on the knob despite yourprotests from outside. He sniffled.
“NYOO HOO HOO. I HATE TO LEAVE HER ON OURDOORSTEP. BUT WE HAVE TO BE STRONG.”
“it’s ok.”
“YOU’RE RIGHT. MOO NEEDS US.” Papyrus stoodto his full height and narrowed his eyes. “NOW…WHERE IS HE?”
Both paled.
“SANS ARE YOU TELLING ME WE ARE THIRTY-FIVESECONDS INTO OUR DEBUT AS BABYSITTERS AND WE HAVE LOST THE CHILD???”
“relax, bro. he’s gotta be somewhere in thehouse.”
Both went silent for any clues. Aside fromthe gentle trickling of water upstairs, it was relatively peaceful.
Wait…
Trickling water?!
“THE BATHROOM! SANS!!!”
“what about it?”
“HE’S IN THERE! STOP TRYING TO DISTRACT ME!LET’S GO!!!”
Papyrus put his gloved hand on the railingand propelled himself upward the long flight of stairs, Sans trailing behind.
The closer they got to the top, the louderthe noises became. Splashing and giggles. There were a million things thatcould’ve gone wrong when they opened the door, ninety-nine percent of which youwould probably dump them for. And they weren’t going to let that happen.
“MOO? ARE YOU IN THERE? I WOULD LIKE TOCOME IN AND JOIN YOU!”
Papyrus jiggled the doorknob.
Locked.
“aw, shit.”
“SANS! WHAT DO WE DO?! WE HAVE NO ACCESS TOHIM! HE COULD BE DOING TERRIBLE THINGS IN THERE!”
“relax, bro. we made sure to turn off thewater for the tub. we put on the special seat for the toilet, and all themedications are locked up. there’s nothin’ he could do from his height.”
At that perfect moment, both brotherslooked down to see their feet sinking into a puddle of water creeping out fromunder the door.
Sans started to sweat.
“WELL, LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A JOB FOR MYIMMEASURABLE STRENGTH. STAND BACK, SANS!”
Papyrus readied himself at the door. Thesheer power of his love for you would surely get him through.
“ONE….” He would be a hero!
“TWO…” You would be so impressed with histoddler caring skills!
“THREE!”
He went for a running start and the dooropened.
“GGAAAAAAKKK!”
He dug his heels into the floor and bracedhimself for impact, doing his very best to stop his body from launching intothe room. All he could see was a hundred scenarios that ended up in someonebeing injured, from a minor scrape to complete and utter annihilation. Maybe hewas spending too much time with Undyne after all. His mind was getting to befar more dramatic than he would’ve liked for such a delicate situation.
As he poured his last ounce of strengthinto stopping dead in his tracks, the tip of his shoe caught on the rug Sansinsisted that they place right outside the bathroom. The gross, musty one hepicked up from a garage sale because he thought it was “a bargain”. Yeah, a bigpile of disgustingness and a cheesy line! What kind of pun was, “make some roomfor dessert”???
Papyrus teetered forwards and went crashingdown onto the floor. It didn’t hurt, but it was unpleasant to feel the stifftufts of the rug’s fabric scraping against his bones. Dazed, he lifted his headjust high enough to see the damage.
Moo had somehow tipped the trashcan overand stood up high enough for him to reach over to the sink. He had taken giantwads of toilet paper, coated them in water and soap, and then slapped the mushymass all over the bathroom. On Papyrus self-portrait made of dry pasta. Onthe cute little figurines that you swore brought life to the place. And even onSans’ joke book that had at least fifty unsanitary references!
With his consciousness fading and lastmortified look, Moo took the toilet brush and brought it up to his mouth tosniff it.
Sans knew that his brother would be okay, but it was still hilarious to see him faint like that. He mostly did it when heoverloaded on sensory things, which happened more often when Papyrus didn’thave his gloves on. But today it might’ve just been a combination of all newthings plus the pretty disgusting state the bathroom was in.
Sans couldn’t be prouder of the little guy.Already destroying the grossest room in the entire house. Man, humans werefascinating already with their digestive systems, but all the tools and suchused to help keep things civilized was enough to make him crack up. Seeing alittle kid completely oblivious toward all of that and dismantling the entirepolite system they had going on was amazing.
“kid, i think we’re gonna get along.”
He stuck his hand out, and was promptlygiven a slimy wad of tissue covered in snot.
“oh, man. that’s disgusting. i love it.”
Papyrus stirred from his unscheduled nap.He felt a little groggy, but the anxiety from before he passed out lingeredlong enough for him to snap back to reality. He sat up and rubbed at hiseyesockets.
“SANS? MOO? ARE YOU BOTH HERE?”
The whole bathroom was in disarray. Papyruscouldn’t bear to look! He reached for the door handle and made sure he didn’thave to subject his eyes to any more torture.
Papyrus happened to glance down at hischest while he pulled himself up from the floor. Pinned to his chest, along thepillow armor that had been fitted on him somehow, was a simple note.
countto ten, then see if you can find us
“I AM NOT PLAYING THIS GAME!” he shouted. “OH,WAIT. THERE IS ANOTHER MESSAGE WRITTEN ON THE BACK OF THE PAPER.” He turned itover.
yougotta. if you’re still not convinced, flip me over again
“WHAT!!!” Papyrus did as he was told.
wait, how does this paper have three sides? anyway, if you don’t do it i’ll trashyour room. love, your bro
“I HATE THIS!!!!” And, against his betterjudgment… “ONE, TWO, THREE…”
After ten agonizing seconds, Papyrus madehis way downstairs. He found a trail of flour leading to the backdoor, at leastfive toys strewn across the floor, some plastic utensils wedged between thecouch cushions, and the phone was off the hook with someone shouting on theother line.
“HELLO?” Papyrus scrambled for the phone, managing to wrestle it up to his face despite the long retro cord being tangledup in knots. “YOU HAVE REACHED THE HOME OF THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HIS EQUALLY GREATLADY, AND ONE LAZY BROTHER, HOW CAN I ASSIST YOU?”
“Paps? It’s me. Is everything okay?”
His breath caught in his throat. Somehow. “AH!!!YES, EVERYTHING IS GOING GREAT!” He started to sweat. “HOW IS THE STORE? HAVEYOU FOUND PRODUCTS AT REASONABLE AND UNBEATABLE PRICES?”
“I think so. I’m in line right now, butthere’s only one cashier and he looked like a new hire. He’s paging the emptystore for someone to do a price check on Mettamuffins. Oh my god. Now he’spanicking.”
“THIS STORY IS INCREDIBLY INTERESTING ANDDOWNRIGHT SCANDALOUS, BUT I HAVE SOME…THINGS…TO ATTEND TO.”
“Hmm. Are you sure you’re doing okay?”
He nearly cracked, but didn’t. “OF COURSEWE AM! I MEAN, OF COURSE I ARE! I WILL JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE I CLEAN UP SOMEOF OUR…ACTIVITIES! GOOD LUCK ON CHECKING OUT YOUR ITEMS! SMOOCH!!!”
He hung up and heard a quiet snicker in theroom.
“SANS, I KNOW YOU’RE IN HERE. THIS CHILD’SPRESENCE HAS MADE YOU EVEN MORE…CHILDISH!!! PLEASE COME OUT OF HIDING, SHE ISCOMING BACK SOON AS WE NEED TO FIX THIS PLACE UP!”
No answer.
Papyrus crossed his arms and thought deeplyon where his brother would be hiding. His favorite spot to snooze in as of latewas the closet near the front door. But it didn’t look like that side of thehouse had been touched just yet. Sans also liked to roll under the couch andsleep under the comfortable weight of the cushions, but when he did that, healmost always managed to kick one slipper off. No sign of that.
As he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, a smalldroplet of liquid splashed against the top of his skull.
“…SANS!!!”
“heh heh. ya got me.”
Papyrus looked up and put his hands on hiships. Sans had somehow crawled up to the corner of the ceiling and was wedgedup there.
“WHERE IS MOO?”
“around here. told him to hide.”
“WE NEED TO BE WATCHING HIM!”
Sans slipped down the length of the wallwithout batting an eye. “ok, ok. i told him to hide in my room. let’s check itout.”
The trek toward the brothers’ bedrooms waslong and arduous, filled with slick spots of melting sticks of butter and granola.A gross combination, and Papyrus wasn’t even sure how he managed to get accessto more food. So much for locking everything up. But despite the harsh terrain, both brothers persisted until they reached Sans’ safe haven.
“hey, bro. what’re you doing? knock first.”
“THERE IS NO TIME FOR FORMALITIES. MOO, IAM COMING IN!”
The stench was unbearable. Dirty clotheslying haphazardly on the floor. A lampshade on the floor. Cloudy test tubesstacked on top of each other. Crumpled bedsheets, pillows stained with coffeeand tea, a plate caked with mysterious gray mold. The entire place looked likeit had seen the wrath of a certain three-year-old.
“everythin’ looks normal to me.”
“OH MY GOD. THE SMELL IS EVEN WORSE THAN ITWAS THIS MORNING!”
“oh yeah. i forgot to put this back in thefridge.” Sans picked up a cup of milk that already started to bubble in the smoldering, stuffy summer heat. “was gonna see if i could ferment this, but figured it’d bebetter to start another day.”
“DO YOU SEE HIM?”
“nope. call him.”
“MOOOOOOO!”
Sans’ eyesockets crinkled. “bro, are youpart cow?”
“NO.”
“because that impression was moo-ving.”
“STOP THIS.”
Then they heard it. A gasp. It was faint, but it was there.
“IS THAT…THE ATTIC???”
How did one child manage to maneuver aroundso easily? Humans were so tenacious! Neither of them could imagine raising oneof their own if they were all like this!
“MOOOOOO!”
“moooo.”
It was dark. How did he even navigate? Whenyou moved in with the brothers, there was so much extra stuff that it was allshoved up here. You and Sans promised to sort through it, but every time youwere both up here at the same time, you ended up just making a giant mess andleaving it worse off than when you came.
Papyrus nearly tripped over a giant chestfull of early courting gifts from him. You said they needed to be kept in asafe place, and that they were priceless, so they had to be stored away. Hebelieved you wholeheartedly, because you had wrapped them up in the softestblankets to shield them from dust and time. That and he caught you sneaking uphere sometimes just to admire them.
“bro, did you hear that?”
“HEAR WHAT?”
Sans froze. His eyesockets went dark.
“we’ve been cornered.”
Jumping out from the shadows, fingerssplayed and mouth opened wide, was Moo.
“Raaaah!”
Both of the brothers were surprised, butdid their best not to laugh. A tiny human in a cow costume roaring at them likea dinosaur was…probably the best thing they’d seen in weeks. It didn’t helpthat Moo charged toward them, bending down on all fours, the tiny tail sewn onhis backside flapping with every bounce toward them.
“PLEASE DON’T HURT US!” Papyrus cried.
But it was too late. Moo had conquered themboth, crawling on top of their toppled bodies and declaring himself as thewinner with a loud, long roar.
“alright, kiddo. let’s get you backdownstairs.” Sans plucked him off his chest and tucked him under an arm. “yougave us a big scare.”
“YOU COULD HAVE HURT YOURSELF…” Papyrusbegan. But after seeing the near teary look in Moo’s eyes, he recanted. “YOUWERE VERY BRAVE TO COME UP HERE BY YOURSELF. BUT NEXT TIME YOU SHOULD PLAY NEARUS, OKAY? WE WANT TO SEE MOO THE DINOSAUR UP CLOSE!”
All three of them headed back to the livingroom where Moo’s giant bag still sat untouched.
“I HAVE A COLORING BOOK I THINK YOU WOULDLIKE.”
“Crayons, please!”
“nice job, kid. use yer manners and you’llget far.”
“I SHOULD WASH HIS CLOTHING IN A FEW HOURS.HE LOOKS STICKY. OR IS THAT NORMAL FOR HIS AGE?”
Everything was okay after that. Some minorincidents – like Moo breaking a crayon and then throwing a tantrum despitebeing given the exact same color to use instead. The brothers had to muster up alltheir patience to deal with his screams and flailing limbs, but they managed toget him to stop wailing after a while.
In the end, the house was completelytrashed, but everyone was safe and sound.
You parked the car in the driveway andrummaged through the bag, grabbing a piece of candy to shove in your mouth. Ugh.What was supposed to be a quick trip to the store ended up being the biggestnightmare of your life. Long lines, rude customers, unorganized shelves, aclown blocking your nearest exit until you donated to his law school fund, andeven a broken traffic light that resulted in a twenty-minute detour through afuneral motorcade.
Needless to say, you were relieved to behome.
After gathering everything in your arms, you headed to the door. A smarter person would’ve called the brothers to letthem know that you were here, but you were so exhausted that the thought nevereven crossed your mind.
Knock. Knock.
“who’s there?”
“Sans.”
“sans who?”
“Sans, please let me in, my arms are goingnumb!”
“i don’t get it.”
“PERHAPS THE HUMOR LIES IN THE REALISM.”
“oh, ok.”
You heard him unlatch the door and youpractically burst in. “Someone please help me get these to the kitchen!”
Papyrus did more than that. He simplyscooped you up, bags and all, so that you were no longer crumbling under theircrushing weight. You were relieved to receive help, but gosh, it did bring a littlecolor to your cheeks when he easily carted you around like that.
He set you down in the middle of thekitchen. Without hesitation, you made your way into the fridge and startedshoving all sorts of snacks inside.
“So? How did it go, guys?”
Sans grinned. “eh, so boring.”
“What, really?”
“IT WAS…NEW.”
You peered over the fridge door. “I don’tknow if I like the sound of that. Where’s Moo?”
“NAPPING ON THE COUCH.”
“Wait, you guys actually got him to sleep?”
“he was kinda giving us a run for ourmoney, so it’s nice he decided to help us out with that.”
“Oh, no. Was he a handful?”
“heh. you decide.”
You blinked and stepped away from yourlittle comfort zone, only to fully drink in how destroyed the house was.
Yeah, it looked like a toddler had beenthrough here, all right. Everyone’s possessions poked and prodded. Annoying Dogeven had a balloon strapped to its tail, trying its best to run away from it asit hovered menacingly over its back. The walls had some minor scribbles hereand there, the carpet had splotches of (what you hoped was washable) paint, there were scraps of paper and a pair of kid scissors scattered along thefloor, and even Moo’s stuffed cow was completely soaked.
“Do I want to know?”
“not really.”
“WE HAD FUN, THOUGH.”
You sighed, relieved, and smiled at them.Your chest even felt a little tight. Ew, you were about to get sappy on them.Sugar overload.
“Thanks, guys. I’m really glad.”
“NOW YOU CAN HELP US WATCH OVER MOO FOR THEREST OF THE DAY!”
“yep.” Munch. “might as well include you onthe fun. ‘sides, you haven’t even seen how he pronounced the word ‘fantastic’.”Swallow.
“…why would he even say that in the firstplace?” you ventured. “Wait, never mind. The point is. You two were a hugehelp. I couldn’t have done this without you, and…I’m really looking forward tothe rest of Moo’s visit if I have both of you here with me.”
Papyrus’ eyesockets sparkled. Sans wasembarrassed, but shot you a cheesy grin anyway.
“Alright, when he wakes up, I’ll make him asnack plate. Sans, can you stop eating for a sec and hand me the FrootyTooties?”
“uh…whoops.”
