So how did you guys met? —you just happened to be in the same class as Kaeya, as well as dorms. Kaeya was in the same class with Albedo last year so he was preeetty much close with the quiet boy. Which made him invite Albedo to stay with the two of you in your dorm because, the place was kind of big for the two of you.

Alright when you stay with these two, you can clearly see how their personalities are veeeery different if you pay attention—to be honest you don’t need to pay attention, you’ll see anyway.

Albedo

It’s like new day new fact for you after Albedo moved in with you and Kaeya. You were very amused at how he was very smart when it comes to science and mathematics computation.

Like he can do mental computations—like how tf? 184 x 246? Without a paper and a pen, I’d take you (+me) ages before you can finish solving it inside your brain (+mine)

So like, whenever you blurt out math equations from your homework, Albedo’s there to say the answer within 3 seconds.

Albedo also likes sketching, you’ve seen and watched him sketch many things ever since he moved in.

Like in the balcony at 5pm, he’ll sketch people walking home from school and you’ll watch him sketch sitting beside him.

Albedo likes it when you watch him do his hobbies, it makes him feel like you’re so intrigued about him, and he likes your company very much.

sometimes he’d go, “Can you be my reference? For my sketch, if you don’t mind.” And request you to just sit right in front of him and do your thing.

He sits right in front of you while he crosses his legs, and uses his thighs for a stand for his sketch book.

You admit you get shy when he looks or scans your face and body for his sketch, the way he looks calmly serious while sketching. There’s just something that makes you shy around him—and he knows.

Your eyes meet way too many times when he looks at you as he continues to sketch.

Just wait until he holds eye contact with you while his hands do it’s work without even looking at the paper.

Deep inside Albedo wanted to smirk at you badly because of how tensed you look while he doesn’t tear his eyes away from yours, but he’ll tease you some other day or time, maybe later.

After he’s done sketching, he’ll show it to you while having his back lean against the chair he’s sitting on. “I’m done.”

“Oh don’t you look alluring in this sketch?—just like always.”

As much as you want to look at the sketch first and see his drawing, his word was first to make you blush furiously and cover half of your face. So he’ll leave the sketch beside you and wash his hands.

Other than sketching, Albedo is good at baking. When you asked why, he goes,

“I have a little sister, although we’re not blood related but I see her as that. We bake cookies during weekends, I’ve mastered the art of baking because of that. I guess it’s for her to like my cookies, and so that she’ll remember me whenever she sees it. And so that she won’t get lonely whenever I come back here.” Like bro that’s so wholesome.

He also goes, “Why don’t you come with me to visit her some time? I’m certain that she will very much like you.”

Albedo also teaches you his special cookie recipe, he said it’s better to be prepared. So that you, him, and the little girl he mentioned named, Klee can bake together when you visit her.

Surprisingly, Kaeya also knew about Klee. Guess like he and Albedo are really close huh.

Watches you mix the ingredients together. He won’t scan what you’re doing, he’ll scan your face, your hair, your concentration. He finds it alluringly attractive.

And he tells you that you’re attractive while you’re in the middle of your baking.

He’s touchy, pokes here and there, everyday.

Kaeya is the kid in the room. He likes to complain about things, whine, act like a child.

He likes it when the attention is focused on him, whether it’d be you or Albedo or both.

He’s really close with Albedo where it goes to the point you think if he’s bisexual or something, if he likes Albedo or something.

But he does straight things that confuses you more, like he’ll suddenly hug you from the front all of the sudden, from the back, anywhere he can hug you.

Like, you’ll exit your room, he’ll hug you.

He exits his room, he’ll hug you. It somehow tells you that he wants affection because you see a lonely side of him when he’s quiet or sitting alone in the living room so in return, you hug back and pat his back while making small steps with him somewhere.

Just, be, affectionate. Then he’ll be happy.

The most adorable thing he does is when you and Albedo are sitting together on the sofa, he’ll squeeze between the two of you, the does these two things:

Lay his head on your lap, and rest his legs on Albedo’s. Then he’ll talk about how his day went where you and Albedo would just chuckle at while listening.

Or, rest on someone’s shoulder and sleep.

And when he does sleep, you and Albedo will move once you knows he’s totally asleep and cover him with a blanket.

And he’ll be waking up with his friends cooking him dinner, in which he’ll softly smile to.

Kaeya is the one who does groceries. (💀)

He’ll always go to the groceries with you and Albedo with him. You’re a package, the three of you, three in one, yeah that’s his mindset. He doesn’t like leaving one behind.

He holds the list and tells you what to get, what brand like “Get pasta, get pasta. No that’s too cheap, that one.” Bro it’s just pasta chill, it’ll taste the same.

But unfortunately he says it’s not the same, then will head to the next isle.

After groceries, he’ll be heading to a fast food restaurant and treat you two as a thanks for coming with him. He does this every time. More like a routine.

He’s noisy when he goes outside—

But gets quiet when he’s home. He acts homesick but he says he isn’t.

When Albedo’s not home, he’ll sit on the dinner table and draw circles on the table while he asks you random things when you’re doing your homework.

“What is the most precious thing you received as a birthday gift?” — “What’s important for you right now?” “What makes you happy?” “Do you think the world is round?”

“The world is round, you can’t change my mind otherwise. I don’t get why some people it’s flat, I completely disagree. —just because we travel and use a straight road doesn’t mean it’s flat.” He’ll start murmuring which is enough to make you chuckle and lose concentration on your work.

These two would always walk with you to school, on the school hallway, cafeteria, literally everywhere. Like there’s no day you don’t walk without them.

Kaeya is always in the middle. For some reason.

“Classes are starting? Already?” Kaeya would always roll his eyes. (Lmao the tone when he said, ‘me? Lonely? Not when someone’s here nagging me all that time, that’s for sure’)

He waves at Albedo when you walk him to his class, like a child being separated from his older brother. While Albedo just looks at him and nods, ‘yeah. We all know we’ll meet again later.’

to #me they started getting close before the gojo deal, with rome kinda seeking lukas out now and then when he needed to get away from Family Drama (tm), and lukas always let him because at least with roman around things are a little less boring. personality wise they keep each other in check really well, roman having a kind of delusional manic optimism towards the world and lukas having a much more nihilistic realistic worldview. they balance each other out yk. i think lukas probably had a thing for rome pretty early on but rome is so oblivious to both lukas' feelings and his own and also is on the aroace spectrum (ace panaroflux) and just. does Not pick up on Anyyything so they suffer the necessary queer situationship for like a year. rome is also probably very flippant and dismissive of lukas trying to connect, because he is just. so scared of attatchment and being genuine. but they'd do mundane shit like watch movies and play video games and go boating on that bigass lake. lukas would try to get rome to open up to him but he never would, not yet at least.

i think romes explosion on the mountain started a kind of a temporary fall out period; lukas realized rome was not like. in a good enough mental place or situation with his family to persue any real relationship so they both kinda back off but but it also makes lukas want the company even more bc he realizes how badly rome needs out of it.

after the gojo deal i think rome takes a lot of time away from the company and his family and everyone he knows in general, maybe for about a year, just kinda traveling the world and learning how to be a person without anyone else's influence, because he needs that. get a dog, eat some steak, yk. not talking to anyone, just off on his own. i think what would eventually draw him back is shiv's baby; it would probably take him a few months to actually see them, but once he did he would realize how badly he missed having people around him, and even though he didn’t regret his journey of self discovery, he knew he was done with it. after spending a few weeks with shiv and baby, he would find himself reaching back out to lukas, and eventually make his way to wherever tf lukas lives in sweden, and kinda just. never leaves.

i imagine roman would move in without ever really making it a thing? he would just show up one day and follow lukas around, and lukas would never really comment on it or ask where he was or why he suddenly wanted to stay. maybe he had a guest house or guest room waiting, hoping that rome would come back eventually. rome never reapplies for waystar or any of lukas' various assets, he is chronically unemployed and just. hangs out. they give each other something to do; hiking and late night campfires and general company through all things. it's like a petty unspoken challenge to see how long they can go without either of them acknowledging that there is anything past Pals going on. like gay chicken except they are actually gay. i see them as endgame in the way that they never really. Acknowledge? anything between them? they just kiss and hold hands and sleep in the same bed every night. but like, in a bro way. totally. don't think too hard about it. over time they come to understand each other better than anyone else and spend like all their time together.

i can totally see roman spontaneously proposing out of the blue one day, in the way he did with both tabitha and gerri, a kind of insecure need to be reassured that he isn't going to be abandoned, as well as having this kind of transactional perspective on relationships and being deserving of love. i feel like they could adopt a kid at some point, and compete to see who could be the better parent. roman would try sooooo hard to be a better dad than logan was and end up being really indulgent, and lukas would have to be the voice of reason. while roman would go for overcorrection to try and make up for his shitty childhood, i feel like lukas would be a lot more timid to be super involved, but would ease into it and do a really good job.

Bro idk why but I loved this Leo. I have a tiny memory, especially with this version but I clearly remember that I thought he was the funniest and the coolest. I mean, he had swords, what was I supposed to do as a 7-year-old. NOT like him??? Anyway, while Raph was the best at insult comedy, I think Leo had the best puns and punchlines. I really like how nonchalant this Leo is compared to his iterations, going along with really silly ideas and having fun along the way. But because of this, his leadership is a little forced at times, he seems like such a chill and fun dude that when he gets serious, I have to squint and ask ‘are you Leo? Or were you just putting on act a moment ago?’ Or my perception is entirely warped over time. Either way, good turtle boy, could have used some work tho. 5.7/10

What. What the fuck happened. I was actually so confused when Leo turned really angry and serious and almost manic. I thought that episode when he popped into Casey’s window and was like ‘Hey bitch lets go beat the shit out of some lowlifes’ I was WOAH THERE BUDDY BACK UP BACK UP BACK TF UP. It was so sudden to me and when it was finally explained, it made some sense??? Like yeah, character development is great an’ all but this ain’t it chief. I can’t imagine what it was like having to wait for these episodes to release one at a time. Bc I watched every episode back to back on Youtube and I was genuinely bamboozled. But when you have an experience like that where guilt is weighing down on you from a situation you couldn’t control, it would’ve been HELLA HELPFUL to have at least a flashback, like a line saying ‘I was so useless!’ at BARE MINIMUM. Like right after Shredder is booted off to Planet Zula, Donnie would notice that Leo didn’t seem all that happy and would ask why and Leo would get upset and yell at Donnie saying that ‘You wouldn’t understand’, ‘You don’t know how I felt, how I feel because of that’, etc. Like you don’t even have to say he felt guilty or helpless, just give us something to grab onto. We’re merely six-year-olds who thought they could climb the YMCA rock wall in easy mode but instead the script riders harnessed us up on the hard one and wouldn’t let us come down until we rang the little bell at the top. I think that is the only problem I had with his Leo. The sudden change of calm and decisive to angry and irrational was so jarring that it felt unnatural without that crucial context. If you want a surprise reveal, at least hint at the reveal (like just about every Disney movie with their ‘twist’ villains) not wait until the very last moment. I think this might be my least favorite Leo and I think the season where he stood out the most and seemed the strongest was Fast Forward (Which was GOOD FIGHT ME), especially in scenes with Dark Leo, his clone. He sees so much of himself in Dark Leo but he also sees something he had once grasped (AKA the poorly written character arc, I CANNOT stress how bad I thought it was). Although, I honestly think he’s a really good character and he’s a pretty neat guy. However, this score is entirely held up by Fast Forward and his connection with Usagi, sword bros to the end of time. 3/10 (2 for FF and 1 for Usagi)

And now a Leo that makes me genuinely feel UWU Leo (2012)

I cannot stress how much I like this guy! Like his design is so appealing, his dedication, his obsession with Space Heroes, like I FUCKING LOVE IT. And everyone knows, that shit with Karai, at first when they didn’t realize they were related, I can let slide but kajsdflksadf what even like why did the writers feel the need to add in more ‘love interest’ implications like yuck yuck yuck. The only two interactions with Leo and Karai that I really like are when Leo defeats her using the healing hands technique and when Leo has a goth/emo/punk/idk I’m new here phase and they team up and EXPLOSIONS. He was introduced to us as being incredibly naive and his idea of leadership is from some old cartoon that’s basically star trek but ethically questionable. After his fights in season 1, to the finale with the technodrome, you can see his growth. He’s able to formulate plans and make life or death decisions. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE. When Leo got hurt, I felt like the oof sound effect mixed with some tears I normally shed at some Shojo manga bs. While the episodes following were super weird, it was a nice way to help Leo recover, not only physically but spiritually (Although I don’t remember the spirit arc at all except the epic Raph vs Fishface fight, so we’re skipping that). When Master Splinter really died, you could tell there was a huge impact on Leo, but he had to remain stoic and lead the family now. A lot of heartbreaking moments in this series came from Leo and I’m glad they took at least some thought into developing him. Tiny head Leo will haunt my nightmares, but the giggly fanboy will warm my heart constantly. 6/10

I only have one word for this Leo (Heroes in a Half Shell: Blast to the Past)

Okay, spoiler alert, didn’t really think this Leo was that grand Leo (2014/2016)

Painfully average. He didn’t stand out that much, Raph was part of the focus and had that touching scene at the end, Donnie was ICONIC and Mikey (with his weird-ass eyes) was super lively and funny! Leo? Uh, I don’t remember a single line he said. Because he never really grabbed my attention, I don’t have too much to say on this version. The Raph and Leo fight felt forced and the whole ‘keep this stuff that could turn us human a secret’ was pretty pointless and was added just to cause drama, I don’t even remember what that Splinter and Leo conversation was about. Design-wise, really neat! You can see some more traditional Japanese clothing/style mixed with modern (I’d feel a lot better about this assumption if some could tell exactly what the heck he’s wearing, but I get traditional Japan warrior vibes from it) in his look which was super neat! Other than that, if you like him, please tell me why because I don’t get. He was just kinda eh. 5/10

AHHH MY BOY YASSS WHOOO!! Neon Leon (2018)

Okay, I loved Ben Schwarts already from Parks and Rec but like him being Sonic AND Leo, like DUDE. He’s super funny by himself but teamed up with this shows writing and animation, it makes it hilarious. I literally love this Leo so much, maybe because we’re alike but honestly, he’s amazing. I love his design with the red and yellow crescents accenting his skin and livening up his color pallet. He has a very healthy and natural dynamic with his brothers, he’s the first to know what’s wrong and tries his best to make up for his actions. This is really prominent in the most recent episodes, along with the episode portal jacked. In both, Leo is separated from his brothers. Portal Jacked is in a more literal sense, while Air Turtle handles in more of an emotional sense. While both are brief, Leo sees his error and tries his best to make it up to them. I love his dynamic so much and it’s so nice to see something like this compared to the unnecessary drama and tension between the brothers in the previous series. It’s refreshing and this is something a younger audience needs to see; instead of fighting, it’s better to work together and improve yourself along the way. Improvement is a big theme for Leo here. He’s a goofball, makes jokes at every opportunity and isn’t quite skilled at fighting or using his weapon. But he grows over time, he learns to manage his power and he’s working on mastering it. He’s trying to put aside his narcissism more and focuses on his family. I think the approach they took with him rising to leader rather than slapping it on his forehead was the goddamn best decision they could make. He’s making plans, finding loopholes, helping out and getting out of his comfort zone. I cannot stress how well this show has handled Leo, along with the other characters. I can’t wait to see more episodes about his growth and I am awarding him with one of the greatest honors I could give... 10/10

TALKING TO EXPLOSION BOY (BNHA)

Cat: Lil floof and if you squint, angst

Agender! Reader was nervous about their internship with Thirteen already, but throw in the sparky porcupine? Anxiety maxed out. But surprisingly, he just isn’t as explosive as usual. (Reader has a fire related quirk)

Y/N remembered when they first decided to try out for cross country.

It was the summer before 8th grade when they vowed to make themself into a person they could like. Their sister had given them a ride to the school, they’d retied their sneakers about fifteen times on the way, and they’d practically had a death grip on that poor plastic water bottle.

They’d been so nervous that they refused to get out of the car. They remembered knowing absolutely nobody on the team, feeling so socially inept because they hadn't talked to anybody all summer. It wasn't until their sister reassured them that they finally found themself unlocking the door.

That's what they thought internships were gonna be like.

But rather than the hellish experience their middle school self endured, it was quite different.

They chose to intern with Thirteen to learn how to use their quirk in rescue scenarios. Thirteen, who they’d recently learned went by xe/xyr pronouns, was a pretty nice person, who took their wall of awkwardness and formality into consideration.

Y/N was finally letting the wall drip down a bit, allowing Thirteen to see their real personality. And the acceptance was nice.

That's why they didn't really mind it when Thirteen said xe needed to drop by Best Jeanist's agency. Something to do with the author and plot lines.

So they followed Thirteen through the building, politely smiling at the passersby they happened to make eye contact with. The two stopped at a door in the building, pushing it open, and just like that feeling of finding someone you know in your home town, Y/N felt like they’d been smacked with frying pan.

Bakugo and Y/N made eye contact from both sides of the room, a silence as his hair sprung back to its normal state.

Oof.

If the rest of the Bakusqud were here, Y/N probably would've been able to sneak in a laugh under Mina, Sero, and Kaminari’s cackling, but alas that was not the case. And despite the self destructive ramblings of Y/N’s rather common mental breakdowns, they valued their life.

Best Jeanist sighed as though this weren't the first time this occurred, flicking his comb into his pocket. "Thirteen." He said in greeting. "What brings you here?"

"I just need to do some touch ups on the paperwork for the collab takedown we did last week. Turns out the villains quirk wasn't energy mutation." Xe replied, while Y/N suddenly begun to wish they had Hagakure's quirk instead as Bakugo’s eyes burned into their skull.

"Is that your intern?"

Uh oh.

"Yep," Thirteen said, pushing Y/N forward much to their dismay. "They’ve got quite the quirk."

Best Jeanist hummed in response, having been there in the stadium. He remembered sending them an invite to intern with him after the festival, but he supposed they were searching for something specific.

"You two are in the same class right?" Best Jeanist asked. Y/N stiffened as he acknowledged Bakugo's presence. Without waiting for a response, he carried on, "You two stay here. Thirteen, the reports in my office."

And despite every cell in their body yelling at the two to stay, the door closed behind the two leaving both Bakugo and Y/N in immediate discomfort.

Silence.

Y/N looked around the room at anything and everything except for Bakugo. They spotted a chair, the only other one in the room placed right across from the blonde porcupine.

With an internal groan, they shuffled over to the chair, sitting uncomfortably still as they pulled out their phone. They stared at the screen, pretending to be doing something while attempting to negotiate a ceasefire with the whatever deity above was listening.

Whatever I did to deserve this, I am so sorry. It'll never happen again, bro, just get me tf outta here rn before my soul skrrt skrrts from my body-

Oh no, now their nose was itchy. The temptation was there, but the risk of drawing attention was even greater. Were they gonna sneeze? Were there tissues in here? Jeez did hearts always beat so loudly? And what is up with the whole breathing thing? It sounds like there's gonna be a whole goddamn tornado-

"Hey. Depressed Flambé."

Y/N hesitantly looked up from their screen, wondering if they placed their funeral plans in an obvious enough location. Top left drawer of their dresser, beneath their will. Dang they forgot to write if they wanted red camellias or white camellias. Surely class 1-A would know they were a red camellias type of lad. And they had to change the song from "Thriller" to "E-Girls Are Ruining My Life", ya know, get with the times-

"I know you're avoiding me. Your damn phone isn't even on." Bakugo's brash voice said, and they suddenly felt like dropping an anvil on their head.

Y/N gave a smile that may as well have said, "I've been caught" and tucked the phone into their pockets where their hands could fidget out of view.

Silence.

Depressed Flambé, Y/N pondered.

They hadn't thought they had a nickname, they figured since they had barely interacted with him all year that they were in the clear.

Guess not.

Their thoughts and the room stayed radio silent for a bit before they hesitantly spoke up, "Trying out a new hair style?"

"Mention it to the rest of 1-A and I’ll kill you!" He barked defensively, huffing when he saw them flinch almost unnoticeably. "He won't let me patrol with him until I 'reform my appearance' or some bullshit like that."

Y/N nodded, though they didn't really see much difference. He was intimidating either way, one just made him look a little more idiotic. "Some bullshit sounds about right." Y/N replied, trying to let themself relax.

Bakugo seemed content with their response, and once again the two fell into silence. And just like a hand reaching out, they felt their voice wanting to come out, to keep talking, but maybe he didn't want to. Maybe it'd be better to take the chance and have no regrets later? But what if he just told them to shut up? They probably would never get over that. It was probably best if they-

"How's your internship?" Bakugo asked, clearly uncomfortable with asking the question. He wasn't even making eye contact which was supposed to be Y/N’s thing.

By the author's grace, was this the power of those behind the divine fourth wall?

"It's good!" Y/N said, a little too quickly for their liking.

Stupid social anxiety.

"Um, Thirteen's trying to teach me how to use my quirk in rescues." They added slowing their words, before their voice lowered into a murmur. "I just kind of wish I knew that they don't really teach fighting techniques."

"Well why don't you teach yourself?" He asked.

Why do you have such good hearing, they thought. "I mean I tried a while ago, but I wouldn’t know where to start."

"Is the phone you were using to avoid me just for show or can you actually use it? Just look some up or walk yourself to a library."

OML THIS IS A HISTORICAL MOMENT HE GOT THROUGH A SENTENCE WITHOUT CURSING OR INSULTING ANYBODY IM SO PROUD OF YOU, BRO, WE NEED TO CELEBRATE THIS MOMENTOUS OCCASION- "I guess that make sense." Y/N replied, sheepish but surprised.

They really thought it would be like that first day at cross country. Like everyone would be looking at them, judging them, ostracizing them. But it was all their head, just as it was then, just as it was now.

There was a gap of (you guessed it) silence, but this time it was less awkward, more...comfortable.

"It's too bad, Best Jeanist, isn't what you thought he would be." Y/N said.

He hummed in response.

"It seems more like he's trying to change you than train you." They thought aloud.

"It's annoying. I wish he'd finish this damn haircut, so I can skip to the fun part, and kick somebody’s ass."

Y/N snorted audibly. "If it's about getting it to stay, I think I can help."

favourite scene:

it’s a tie. okay. it’s a tie because i love love. on one hand, the scene where zay aggressively stands up for charlie... tells him he’s way to good to be walked all over... causing charlie to realize SOMETHING is going on with his silly feelings.... several points were fucking made, let me TELL YOU. god. damn. zay is so passionately defensive of charlie despite them only being friends through school, charlie just basically falling into zay’s dark eyes (we know he was). every bit of development they get i cling on to and lemme tell you the SEROTONIN i received this evening! i love the way they encourage each other to be bolder and better people, and to be more uniquely themselves. it’s such a mutually supportive relationship (at both the platonic and romantic stages) and i THRIVE off of it. i reiterate: when zay told charlie he was too good to be walked all over i literally absolutely MELTED. that is the sweetest shit, on GOD. anyway... on the other hand, we have the rl waltz scene like shut up that was the most romantic shit i’ve ever seen in my life bro!!!! WHEN RILEY TILTS HIS CHIN UP I WENT FERAL! i know rl takes a backseat to zc in my reviews usually but this is just. every number in ambition is always iconic, but there’s really no contest to the best one this number— the sheer wonderful fun energy dancing queen has CARRIES it to number one with ease. easily one of the season’s top numbers— dave’s dumb dance break (seriously imagining him flossing and moonwalking to the chorus has me internally dying), jeff’s iconic break dancing (we love an ACTUALLY semi-coordinated techie!) and the whole loose, carefree number is absolutely wonderful. not to mention i LOVE techie group performances. love them, y’all. truly the best of the best.

favourite character this ep:

i can’t choose, i seriously cannot choose. i think i’ll say dylan and asher (they have to go together, really) solely for their hilarious, fearful exchange with lucas (“blindfold asher, he’s scared of heights!”). they care about their friends (especially lucas) SO much, and it shows the effective balance of humour and serious emotion they’re able to bring to the table. plus blowing kisses to riley and just. Being best bros with lucas was so good.... i love them truly, and i don’t say it enough.

farkle: it’s like he’s sweating mediocrity.

all the little zc moments... all the little zc MOMENTS! zay nudging charlie causing him to choke on his food, the shoulder pat and hand glance (obsessing over hands is lgbt culture), charlie literally dying while watching zay teach choreo to that romantic strangers like me line... ok ur honour im filing a report that says i love them!!! charlie is already SO FAR GONE for this boy, and he’s beginning to realize. he’s the physical manifestation of gay panic and god it’s funny. also, honourable mention goes to lucas going feral cat mode at zay but not riley— lucas, you’re not subtle.

something i missed the first time around:

back on my jack hunter bs to say that i really noticed him shine this episode, along with eric! it really is so enjoyable watching the two of them grow from two people with contrasting views constantly at odds to a rock solid team united by their determination to put the students first— and their sleuthing scenes are intriguing highlights, drawing you further into the mystery. we don’t know much yet but we NEED to learn more.

first impression vs your reread impression:

this episode is more fun and upbeat than i remembered (i mostly remembered farkle struggling and that’s it) and it was thoroughly enjoyable. the romance development, the “main plot” of the aaac mystery beginning its build, really good interactions between people who dont usually interact (farkle and riley, charlie and maya a bit, bit of zay and lucas, charlie and farkle) which is ALWAYS a blast. good times for most, leading to long awaited peace (that won’t last, but so what? we got there). had a great time reading as always.

literally your mind ma’am... all the above you said? truth! zay and charlie’s first ever journey to the costume loft... the power it holds... truly you can tell that one thing es and i value in a relationship is mutual respect and support because that’s something that’s paralleled in zc AND rl (you could, actually, make a pretty extensive parallel set between the two relationships, despite their obvious differences). it’s literally beautiful that zay and charlie see the talent and potential in one another that it feels like no one else sees -- whether they want them to (zay) or whether they choose to fade into the background (charlie), and they like... inarguably believe that the other person is the superior performer. there’s such a mutual admiration there. it speaks to the same feature of rl in which lucas literally believes riley is 10 times more talented than anyone at aaa and won’t let her forget it, and riley sees the weight that lucas carries even if he’s the first to diminish his purpose. you could say, in effect, that each main dynamic sees the other as “the best they have to offer...” and that... perhaps... is love........... sorry to just pop tf here im feral tonite

Okay, maybe you’re convinced. Now you want to know how/where to read MTMTE. Got you covered:

My very short answer: just read MTMTE in trade paperback form. That way all the issues are in order and you get all the extra stuff (there are prose stories after a couple issues that are very important so don’t skip them!) They’re available that way as both physical and digital books.

Here’s some ways to get access, legally (US centric, sorry):

If your local library has Hoopla (digital library subscription service), you may have access to some of the MTMTE trades that way. They’d be here; but check if you library has Hoopla first.

Your local library very well might have physical copies, so check their website!

If not and you’re very patient you can often request inter-library loans (your library borrows the books from another library) or request your library purchase materials.

You can buy digital trades via either IDW or Comixology. Comixology also includes the first 5 volumes in their comics subscription service. I’ve seen the series go on sale on both of these sites at least 4 times in the past 6 months, so keep an eye out! (Sometimes IDW participates in humble bundles, which are great, but those sales are far more infrequent)

Character Guides

So you’ve picked up this comic and oh boy there are a lot of robots. You’re a little intimidated. Maybe you’re having a hard time telling them apart.

If you want the direct sequel to MTMTE, go straight to Lost Light, the sequel series. It’s still ongoing and (as of right now) 12 issues have been released. There are spoilers for it EVERYWHERE on Tumblr, fair warning.

Fan Stuff

Okay...but what about fan content and fanfic and art and community events?

First thing to know: Transformers content is posted on tumblr under the tag Maccadam. (more detailed explanation why) A lot of mtmte content is also under ‘mtmte’, so look there too. I only use Maccadam if I think a post deserves to be seen by a lot of people but opinions vary.

Second thing to know - the sequel to MTMTE, Lost Light is still being published and you will see ALL SORTS OF SPOILERS for it on Tumblr. To mitigate the damage, try blocking “LL Spoilers” “Lost Light Spoilers” and “Wednesday Spoilers”. You cannot avoid it all, so if you don’t want anything spoiled, get caught up on both MTMTE and Lost Light before browsing around Tumblr.

Fanfiction:

Warning! A lot of Transformers fanfiction is smut. Please take a moment to integrate this fact into your understanding of the universe. If you can handle that, go ahead to AO3.

Movie Night 2 | Çağlar Söyüncü

January: Chilly Alternate Title: Hold My Hand?

You let yourself into Chilly’s apartment for the first of twelve movie nights. He called out to you in greeting, which you returned as you set your booze on the counter. You kept a beer out from the six-pack you placed in the refrigerator and grabbed the bottle opener.

“What movie are we watching?” You asked as you meandered into the living room, taking a swig of your beer.

Ben smirked cheekily. “Patience, grasshopper. You’ll find out soon enough.”

You laughed, settling onto the couch. “Ooh, is that a clue?”

“Guess you’ll have to wait and find out.”

Rolling your eyes, you pulled out your phone, texting Madders.

You: Bro, where tf are you?!

His reply came seconds later.

Mads: Almost there - calm tf down

“Mads should be here soon,” you informed Ben, not looking up from your phone.

“Cool,” he replied, taking a seat next to you.

“Is everyone coming?” You asked, trying to keep your voice neutral.

“Should be. Vardy said he might be coming a bit late, as he’s on baby duty tonight, but none of the other lads have outright canceled.”

You were secretly relieved that he didn’t ask why you were asking; it was why you and Chilly got along so well. Of course, you were (im)patiently waiting for Çağlar Söyüncü to arrive. The door opened and you looked over your shoulder at who had come in. Barnes, Pérez, and Tielemans came tumbling through,carrying a ridiculous amount of shopping bags and laughing hysterically. The trio greeted you, and Ben got up from the couch to help them unload whatever they had brought.

Shaking your head, you returned to your phone. Mads had texted a reply that he was a couple minutes away and you responded with the thumbs-up emoji.

The seat next to you shifted as some sat down. “Anything interesting happening on there?” Came Çağlar’s delicious accent. Startled, you gasped and your phone fell into your lap. He chuckled and you blushed furiously.

“Well, there was until you sat down,” you responded, trying to recover from feeling like an idiot, your stomach flipping when you noticed the blush colouring his cheeks at your response. You picked your phone up from your lap and placed it face down on the end-table. Turning to face him, you tucked your legs underneath yourself. “How are you? I haven’t seen you since the get-together at Madders’s place where we decided this whole thing.”

“I have been good,” he answered, deep in thought as he chose his English words. “We have been playing well recently and I am hoping for it to continue.”

“Me, too,” you agreed. “I’ve been catching the matches on the telly when I can. I love watching you play.” The last sentence left your mouth before you could stop it, hoping he couldn’t hear the breathy quality your voice had taken on.

He chuckled and looked at his hands and you could have sworn that you saw him blush again. “Thank you. It is the best feeling.”

Just as you were about to say something more, Madders burst through the front door his arms laden with bags, shouting, “FUCHS WILL NOT BE ATTENDING TONIGHT!” Everyone laughed at his antics and dramatism.

“Oi, how do you know that?!” Barnes shouted back, throwing a piece of popcorn in Madders’s direction.

Your best mate grunted, expertly deflecting the popcorn-assault with his free hand. “He put something in the group chat, mate.”

You rolled your eyes, taking it upon yourself to stop the lads from killing each other - not that they would, but you couldn’t handle the ridiculousness of more than a few footballers in a room. Without thinking, you placed a hang on Çağlar’s knee to steady yourself as you pulled your feet out from underneath you. “I’ll be right back,” you promised, flashing him an apologetic smile. “Save my seat?”

He nodded, smiling back at you. Your stomach fluttered as it always did when he looked at you like that. You let your fingers brush over his knee lightly as a thank you, so focused on the rest of the guys that you didn’t hear his breath hitch at the contact.

“Calm down, boys!” You laughed, trying and failing to swat all the popcorn that Barnes tossed your way.

“We are not at Madders’s place so any food that falls on the floor gets picked up,” Chilly instructed. “I don’t have my own Diego so you can’t make a mess.”

“Yeah, lads,” Madders chimed in, “don’t poke fun at Ben just because he can’t take care of another living thing!”

It was Chilly’s turn to toss popcorn at Madders now, but it was all in good fun, everyone cracking up including yourself.

“Okay, who are we still waiting on?” You asked, trying to get everyone’s attention. “Mads, you said Fuchs isn’t coming, and Ben, you told me earlier that Vardy might be late. Are we missing anyone?”

“We’re still waiting on Kas, Evans and Gray,” Barnes responded through a mouthful of popcorn.

“Nope, just Kas and Gray. Evans is spending quality time with Lottie tonight,” Mads corrected.

“Where are you getting all this information?” Barnes asked incredulously.

“Did you mute the group chat?” Chilly asked.

“I don’t think so?” Barnes answered, his voice confused. He pulled out his phone and after a few taps, turned a shade of bright red. “My bad, lads.”

Madders rolled his eyes. “Looks like I should be throwing popcorn at you.”

Schmeichel arrived a few minutes later, closely followed by Gray, whom everyone teased for his inability to be on time. Snacks and drinks were prepared, and Chilly queued up the movie. Someone turned off the lights, and everyone found their seats. You whispered your thanks to Çağlar for saving your spot as you made yourself comfortable, throwing the blanket you had brought over the two of you.

The screen was black and all you could hear was a man’s voice that said, “From the start.” The sound of a tape recorder or something turning on came on as half of the face of the Annabelle doll appeared, making everyone jump. Instinctively, you grabbed Çağlar’s arm and buried your face in his shoulder. He placed his hand protectively on your knee and a shiver of excitement ran down your spine.

You opened your phone to type a message and Barnes was the first to cry out the newest rule that was added that evening. “Hey! No phones!” You growled in frustration as you turned it back off and put it back on the end table.

Çağlar’s hand was still on your knee and you squeezed it to get his attention. When he looked over at you, you placed a hand on his chest and leaned in to whisper, “I hate horror movies, especially The Conjuring.”

His lips brushed your ear as he whispered in response. “I will protect you.” The affirmation, combined with the contact of his lips on your skin and his accent, turned you on so badly there was probably no way you would be able to focus on the movie now.

Trying not to draw attention to yourself, you shifted so that your legs were across Çağlar’s lap. He draped his arm over your calves, drawing you closer to him. “Is this okay?” You asked, still whispering.

He nodded, rubbing a soothing thumb over your leggings.

You watched most of the movie with your face buried in the crook of Çağlar’s neck, with him occasionally whispering to you in Turkish or running a hand over your arm or leg to calm your nerves.

Oddly enough, you were a bit disappointed when the movie ended. You waited until you absolutely had to before you started untangling yourself from Çağlar. The lights came back on, and you blushed when the two of you made eye contact and quickly looked away. It hadn’t been awkward when the movie was playing and you were shrouded in darkness, but now with the lights on, you weren’t sure you would be able to have a normal conversation with him again.

Everyone packed up what they had brought, reluctant to get back to their flats after that terrifying movie. The guys confirmed that they would all see each other the next morning at training; you hugged them all as you promised to attend the next movie night at Madders’s.

Once outside, you all parted ways. You shivered in the cool night air, wrapping your blanket around you as you made your way to the bus stop. You shrieked as someone started walking next to you, but laughed at your nervousness when you realized it was Çağlar. “Sorry I scared you,” he apologized, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

“It’s okay. I can’t get too mad at the man who got me through that movie, now, can I?” you replied, giggling as you winked at him. He looked away, smiling to himself and your nerves returned.

“Thanks again for getting me through that movie, Çağlar.” You said, realizing it was one of the few times his name had left your lips tonight.

“You are welcome. I do not think I like those kinds of movies after tonight. I can see why you do not like them.”

You tried to hide your disappointment as you interpreted his dislike of the movie ‘after tonight’ as you being a nuisance. You thought about bringing it up, but then thought better of it, the thought of hearing him actually reject you out loud being too brutal to bear.

“Well, this is me,” you said when you reached your bus stop. He stopped with you, and you looked at him quizzically. “I know this isn’t your stop. What are you doing?”

“Waiting with you,” he replied matter-of-factly. “Once you get on the bus, I will go back to my flat.”

You blushed as you leaned into him. “Thank you.”

The wait wasn’t too long, as the bus came every ten minutes. When you saw the bus approaching from a bit away, you turned to Çağlar and pulled him in for another hug, wrapping your arms around his neck. “Good night, Çağlar,” you whispered, savouring the feel of his arms around your waist that would have to last you to next month.

“İyi geceler,” he whispered back, watching as you got on the bus before continuing to his flat.

February’s movie night couldn’t come fast enough.
