Gotlands Bryggeri Sitting Bulldog IPA (at Stockholms Gästabud in Stockholm). A 3 of 4. The body here is all traditional / English IPA with tons of roast and toffee-like sweetness, although there’s a healthy dose of citrus and pine on top that’s relatively prominent. Still, bready sweetness is relatively dominant, although there is a nice, dry finish.

Dødsgangen er en festival i Albertslund, nærmere betegnet det ikoniske fængsel fea Olsenbanden, Vridsløselille. Der er fokus på dødsmetal, og det hele er udendørs. Lidt hurtige tanker om løst og fast:
1. Øllet. Slowburn, det lokale bryggeri, leverede en fin black ipa, en hæderlig session ipa, en fin imperial stout og stout, men det hele kostede det samme, og visse typer blev udsolgt efter en time. Det virkede dumt. Øl må aldrig slippe op.
2. Musikpolitiet var dj's. Sort campingvogn med to gutter med fjollede kunstnernavne og plader, der på dagen var med Snoop, Gasolin og Dire Straits. Anmelderen hader ingen af de nævnte, men det var totalt malplaceret. Fyr de to tumper og spar de penge. Opgaven er nem: spil noget i samme genrer som kunstnerne på scenen, og gerne noget, som mange kender.
3. Merch var for ringe, især til prisen, og ja, det siger jeg som modtager af en gratis plakat. En T-shirt til 250 kr skal ikke have trykt en dilletantisk teenagertegning på, og det gælder også en hoodie til 550. Medmindre man støtter nogen med Downs, som har kreeret værket.
4. 1914 havde intet merch. Overhovedet. Deres teenagebørn gider måske ikke at tegne?
5. Et pit opstår ikke ved, at man giver sig til at brage ind i andre, indtil de skubber til en.

Ægir Bryggeri Flåm, Norway
Flåm might be the most majestic step into nature I have ever experienced yet in my life. I marveled over the green mountains and waterfalls overlooking the fjord, which made me feel like a tiny little ant. In the area is a microbrewery with a Viking-styled building represented here.
The tree, representing Yggdrasil, had these carvings around it, including a Viking face (that you can see here), Ratatoskr the squirrel at the branches, and Níðhöggr the dragon (who gnaws the tree's roots) at the base.
I screwed up by not realizing how far Njardarheimr (the Viking village) was... you have to take a tram there (and it's a long journey) and sadly, I didn't have the time to make that trek.

Lärjedalens Bryggeri
Lärjedalen is a district council area northeast of Gothenburg that got its name from the stream that meanders through the landscape; Lärjeån. In the valley, it runs naturally through a fissure valley that runs from a rolling stone ridge in the east and then flows into the Göta Älv in the west. The shape changes from thin to wide and follows the undulating nature... A monogram represents the flow of the stream. The letter L is central and no matter how it is turned, it stands correctly. This makes it suitable for caps, coasters and other merch. Just as the river it flows to be wide and thin. And just as nature, the beer is amazing.

Walking the Streets of Oslo
Sunday - 6/16/24
For the next seven days we are staying at the Christian Teeter Hotel. It is located one block from the National Theater and across the street from a park. The location of the hotel was great, but if we were ever to stay here again, I would look into the Hotel Continental. It is about a block away and looks more modern. The people at the front desk at Christian Teeter were nice, but did not provide us any real value when we asked them questions (e.g. restaurant recommendations).

Our first stop today was the "Visit Oslo" tourist office at the Central Train Station. There we obtained a detailed map of Oslo and purchased a 7-day transit card, which allows us to ride any bus, tram, subway, or train within Oslo. From the tourist office we started Rick Steves' self-guided walking tour.
Oslo is a pretty compact city and we determined that our walking tour was going to cover most of the stops of Oslo’s Hop On, Hop Off bus. So we did not purchase tickets for the Hop On, Hop Off bus in Oslo.
The picture below shows a statue of a tiger prowling in front of the Central Train Station. This statue represents Oslo's nickname, Tigerstaden ("Tiger Town"). Oslo earned this nickname in the 1800s, as it was seen as an "urban tiger" by the simple country folk who visited what was considered the wild and crazy "New York City of Norway."

Below is a picture of Karl Johans Gate, a pedestrian boulevard that stretches from the train station to the Royal Palace. Normally, there are street musicians and artists along this street, but we didn’t see any today. This could be because it is Sunday, it is drizzling, or it is not the high season (July and August).

On July 22, 2011, an act of terrorism killed 77 people in Norway. In an act of solidarity, thousands of Norwegian laid roses down in front of Oslo Cathedral. Iron Roses, the art work shown below in front of the Oslo Cathedral, serves as a memorial for those who lost their lives during that tragic event.

In the morning, the weather was cloudy, then it would drizzle for a bit before the sun came out. This cycle repeated numerous times. However, the afternoon and evening were sunny for most of the time. :-).
