So scenario:

Chuuya is transmasc, has been his whole life, it's not a big deal and no one really gives a shit when you live on the streets. Anyway. He and Dazai fuck during their Mafia days, and have a baby out of it. Horrific idea? Definitely! Anyway, after Dazai defects, Chuuya visits him with exactly one purpose: deposits the baby on him. Congrats, its yours now.

Anyway. Dazai cannot raise a baby and he knows it, so he takes the baby to Ango and dumps it on him. Call this repayment. And blows up his office, because, what else would he do.

Ango also cannot raise a baby, and so he gives the baby to Chief Taneda, hoping his boss will have a better idea of what to do with it than he does. Chief Taneda does not have a better idea of what to do than he does. And so, he hands the baby to Fukuzawa, reasoning that if he already raised two teenagers, how much harder can a baby be?

The baby is in Agency custody for about a year, after which Fukuzawa hands it back to Taneda, because this isn't working. Taneda, his hands tied, decides to briefly give the baby to Ayatsuji while trying to find it actual custody. Is it the worst idea he's had? Maybe.

Anyway. Ayatsuji has zero clue what to do with the baby and zero interest in it. However, he somehow winds up stuck with it in his basement for two whole years. Ango visits, sometimes. He's not as awful with the baby, but still not good.

Thankfully, Taneda finds custody for the baby - Mori, who has decided this is a good plan. The baby is no longer a baby, is about 3 years old, and is a menace. Mori's custody lasts until the kid nearly dies in an assassination attempt before he decides it's too risky and gives the kid back to Taneda.

Now, Taneda only really has one option: Hunting Dogs custody. He gives the kid to Fukuchi and crew and says, please don't kill it. The Hunting Dogs have a ball of a time. Teruko hates the kid. Tachihara is uncomfortable. Jouno and Tecchou are shockingly good with the kid in their own ways. Huntimg Dogs get custody for three whole years before Fukuchi ships the kid back on the basis of risk.

Now, at this point, Dazai is in the ADA, and so Taneda gives the kid back to the ADA. Dazai is horrible with them. Kunikida is worse. Yosano gives them wine. Ranpo ignores them. Fukuzawa doesn't know what to do with them. This lasts for a year and a half.

After a year and a half, a custody hearing is held.

Concept:

Cheif Taneda’s ability, Hail in the Begging Bowl, allows him to know the ability (and nature of said ability) of any ability user if their ability is activated near him

Which has some interesting implications because Sigma used his ability on him and is why he’s in a coma.

And Sigma was created by the book and is quite an anomaly. Also the Book was previously in the possession of the Special Abilities Division.

Taneda knew where the page was because it was his people who ripped a page out of the Book to begin with.

It also makes me wonder if Taneda is one of the only people outside of the Agency to know Ranpo doesn’t have an ability.

If Ranpo ever used Ultra Deduction near him, he would know it wasn’t a real ability.

And from what I understand when you give someone information via an ability you learn something from them too.

Sigma giving Atsushi the page location and Atsushi showing him what it meant to have a home.

So say if that’s the case and somehow Taneda knows about Tanpos secret…and Sigma used his ability on him and then used his ability on Fyodor…Fyodor might also be able to attain that information.

Ranpo is a person of interest after all Dazai got arrested so that Ranpo could walk freely, even referring to him to Fyodor as “the strongest in the Detective Agency.”

And Ranpo is the one member that’s suspiciously absent from the airport when we know he was there.

Going missing once Fyodor had arrived.

I mean whatever the case Taneda’s ability could be a powerful asset and taking him out was an important part of Fyodor’s plan.

Maybe it was just to learn the pages location. Maybe it was more than that,

Fukuzawa Yukichi

You'd think he would be strict as a father but no. He just says one disappointed sentence and you feel like you've dishonored ten generations of ancestors.

You’ll be like, “I got into a fight at school.”

His reaction ”I see.” That's the punishment

Is it a metaphor?? Is he disappointed?? Proud?? Is this a test??? (He knows exactly what he’s doing.)

Once you came to his room ”i accidentally threw a rock at the police and I need legal advice.”

He thinks something is wrong with you but no you're just like this.

You go to his office and say dumb things just to get a reaction. He doesn't even flinch.

He adapts like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

“Use the other towel if you’re pretending to be a ghost. That one’s still damp.”

You see him holding back a smile everytime.

Your scrolling at 3am with brightness on 100% Fukuzawa will appear in the doorway then take away your phone like he's sealing a cursed sword.

If you get in trouble with the law he refers to you as ”my child” formally. It makes a difference, trust.

He enrolled you in martial arts without asking. You’re not sure if it’s because he wants to pass on his swordsmanship or because he caught you holding scissors wrong.

If you add sugar to your tea he stares at you like you committed war crimes. ”If you wanted candy water you should of said so.”

Ranpo starts questioning your intelligence and your snack preferences.

“Are you good at math? How many jelly beans are in this jar? Go.”

Atsushi knows what you feel. He knows what it's like to lose everything and end up somewhere new. But he's shocked- “I can’t believe the President is raising a Gen Z child”

Yosano is like your older sister now. “If anything hurts tell me right away. Doesn't matter if it’s physical or not.”

You once told Kunikida that his notebook would be cooler if it had stickers.

“You... had so much potential.”

Dazai is canonically good with kids. He takes you out to get icecream. Knows how to get words out of you (lmao) asks if ”You got any weird talents?” while he's smiling like an idiot.

You try to befriend Kyouka. She's not loud herself but she defends you when you get scolded.

Kenji gives you organic milk ”drink this, you'll grow taller.”

Mori Ougai

This man has no gifs💔

Silly with Elise but actually acts like an adult around you.

No fast food.

Gives you vitamin gummies in the shape of organs

When you fake sick to skip school he says:

“Convincing 6/10. Next time add slight shaking and glassy eyes.”

Regular checkups. You know what a stethoscope feels like on your back more than most medical students do.

You learn all the biological terms.

He’s one of those horrible at phrasing it dads.

You can't enter his room without permission and there's no expectations.

He will compare you to Dazai in the most unhinged ways possible.

You once skipped school and Mori was SO unbothered.

“Nice try. Dazai once staged his own funeral. You’ll need to try harder.”

He bribes you constantly. Get good grades and he will buy you whatever you want.

Chuuya’s not the type to get involved in things he doesn’t have to, especially when it involves Mori's private matters.

But he makes sure you don't even stub your toe because well, your father will question it even if it's small.

Higuchi babysits you when Mori leaves you to her. She was very nervous around you at first.

“Are you cold? Hungry? You don’t look well. Wait, are you feverish? Should I call- no. I’ll handle it. I was trained for this. Probably.”

“I love my job” she says her eye twitching as Mori hands her another file for “bonding time” with his child.

Hirotsu is not the type to teach you how to kill. He’d rather teach you how to read body language or defuse a conflict with words first.

Calls you “Young Master” or “Young Lady” (even if you tell him to stop).

Corrects your kanji. Answers every “why” you ask, no matter how stupid.

Kouyou will teach you how to hide a knife in your sleeve, walk without sound, and kill without a sound. (if you choose that path)

To be honest Dazai wouldn't be nice to you or empathize with you.

You cry? He’ll use it to manipulate your allies. You ask him for help? He’ll smile and walk away if he doesn’t use it against you later. To him everything is leverage. Even your pain.

Remember when he told Q that he would rip their heart out next time? The same applies to you.

He’s not strict, he’s tired.

You could show up to breakfast in a full demon cosplay and he would just go

You asked for a game console. He said no so you emotionally ghosted him.

Later that week he bought you a Switch, 3 games and a note left: “I will not be emotionally manipulated. Enjoy.”

You show him a TikTok video and he just goes “This is how nations fall.”

Still says “why are you like this” at least twice a day.

If you turn out to be a criminal? He becomes Chief Taneda, not your father.

He will step back operationally and reassign your case.

Taneda will not be the one to strike but he will not interfere when the Special Division comes for you. That's the only mercy he can give.

Ango just goes “...Of course.” he knew.

He doesn’t treat you like a child. He treats you like a walking diplomatic liability.

If Taneda dies or is weakened, you will be placed under surveillance. Which means he now owns your future.

Tsujimura assumes you know how to kill a man with a pencil. You might not. She doesn’t care.

Ayatsuji thinks you will be an interesting file in the hands of Special Division one day. Probably one that ends with criminal activity.

BSD + Pokemon Pt. 2 (Guild + Special Division + Extras)

Yo. I'm back. XD And I have moreeeee as well as some extra folks

Guild

Fitzgerald: Persian (Three words. Rich man vibes. Anyways.)

Louisa: Noctowl (Basic, I know, but it just feels fitting for her. Not to mention, the Pokemon twists its head 180 degrees to increase intellect, similar to Louisa able to use her ability to its fullest as long as she's alone in a private room. That, and owl, and she uses a quill to write. What's more to love? [sidenote, it's actually a pretty big birb, this birb's at least 5". *it's taller than me by an inch or two.*)

Margaret: Altaria (Margaret's ability is basically wind, Altaria might be the closest thing to something related to wind/the sky. And to be honest, I'm kinda proud of this one. I thought Margaret's was gonna be hard, but each time I keep thinking back to flying Pokemon, fluffy cloud birb came to mind and just "done. dusted. stop here, that one.")

Hawthorne: Aegislash (Not my best, once again. Given Hawthorne's ability and his person, I couldn't really find one best suited. Not to mention his ability is quite specific. So I had to go with the fact he could use his ability as bullets and a shield. Offense and defense? Why not change the bullet part to a sword? and boom, Aegislash.)

Twain: Swellow (At first I was gonna go with Talonflame, but then I saw Swellow. And then I keep running into more bird Pokemon. The only reason I stuck with Swellow was because [looks back at bulbapedia] yada yada yada- "It never misses its targets". Compliments his ability well.)

Steinbeck: Arboliva (Terrifying olive tree and the only one I could think of that could fit Steinbeck's ability. Siderant: I ran into these guys when I first played Pokemon Violet, and it was so ANNOYING. I hit it. It hits back. Harder. AND THEN IT SELFHEALS. "But Lavender, you could just run-" It was a trainer battle.)

Lovecraft: Tangrowth (Going with Lovecraft's... [looks at bsdwiki] uh- hm... non-ability, with him able to use his tentacles, Tangrowth does the same with their vines. And similar to the tentacles able to regenerate, Tangrowth losing their arms doesn't trouble them.)

Herman: Wailord (*Gestures at Moby Dick* Need I say more?)

Poe: Corvisquire ([ . . . ] Look it was either going to be a raccoon [Zigzagoon], a cat [none fit the "black cat" aesthetic except maybe Litten], or a bird [Corvisquire or Murkrow]. My guy already has Karl, he could be the Zigzagoon at default, and there are no Pokemon related to books hhhh, so he gets a bird.)

Lucy: Gothorita ([inhalesss] [exhalesss] My first choices was Banette. [looks at Q]. My second choise was Magearna. [looks further down this post]. Then I see Dollive. [Looks at Steinbeck's Arboliva]. Of all that I can manage through skimming serebii's national pokedex, I came across the Gothita line. At first, I felt bad that it was sort of a last ditch plan for Lucy, but looking at the two together, they sort of compliment each other? Maybe? And yes, Gothorita specifically.)

Special Division

Ango: Reuniclus (Just like Mori, I had trouble with this one, but in which aspect. His occupation or his ability. In the end, I grabbed a small aspect of his ability where it does quite the mental strain on him, and this Pokemon line [or rather the second evolution] has that brain aspect. Other than that, though, I have thought of Klefki [for some reason???], Munna/Musharna[what is with these pokemon-?], or just any psychic-type Pokemon.)

Tsujimura: Darkrai (Now I know what you're thinking. "WHY GIVE HER SOMETHING OVERPOWERED?" Well, not only is Tsujimura's ability Yesterday's Shadow Tag something similar when it comes to shadows and Darkrai *is* shadows, but the thought of it comes to the fact that she got her ability through her mother, just like Kyouka with Demon Snow. The idea of someone having such a powerful ability/Pokemon in their hands but is ultimately nerfed due to the fact they're inexperienced, or in Tsujimura's case, unable to control it.)

Taneda: Espeon (Don't know much about the man, but his ability lets him know the nature of another's ability upon its activation. So my guy rolls an active perception check. And of all that I've seen that could "sense intention" were either Raltz/Kirlia, Lucario, and Espeon. And I was tempted in choosing Espeon not by bias, but that they passively have perception check running [odd words there, friend-]. And ye owo)

Extra

Mushitarou: Phantump (Ignoing the Pokemon's pokedex and the implications of a Phantump coming to be, the little guy just keeps reminding me of Mushitarou's little ghost buddies of his Perfect Crime ability. So have the little guy. It he.)

Ayatsuji: Magearna (Yup, pulling these guys up. Again, I don't know much of the other light novels, but I knew enough by the fanwiki. And one thing in particular I noticed besides Ayatsuji being a detective was that he likes ball-jointed dolls. So, Magearna! And to be honest, this Pokemon was what I had in mind to give Lucy but... yeaaaahh that went well-)

Kyogoku: Ghastly (I went all out, 'cos I pulled up articles for this one. Not only is Kyogoku's ability "Possession Drop" said to be of a Yokai Possession, I went to see about Pokemon that are based off on Yokai. And it says here that Ghastly are based off from "Onibi" or just souls that turn into small flames that wander, detached from their bodies. And reading about Kyogoku, it makes sense. Oh, and that generally ghost-type Pokemon are capable in possessing people.)

Next up will likely be DOA and the Hunting Dogs with a few more extras weeeeeeee

I absolutely understand Dazai's decision to keep his past a secret. But why didn't Cheif Taneda tell the Agency about him?

I don't care what his reasoning was that was such a risky and dangerous move.

He doesn't know Dazai. He doesn't know that Dazai's turned over a new leaf and had character development rip the bandages off his face.

All Cheif Taneda knows is that this teenager who up until 2 weeks ago was Port Mafia Executive and apparently wants a new job.

And yeah Dazai still needed to pass the entrance exam. But even so you don't just give this kid the name and contact information of an organisation he was the prime enemy off.

Without even properly informing Fukuzawa of that either.

I absolutely believe Fukuzawa would've still given Dazai a chance and allowed him to have an entrance exam.

But at least give the man a heads up. You're not part of the Agency Cheif Taneda, you have no right to hide that kind of information from them.

And you definitely knew who Dazai was because Ango was your spy into the damn place. Even after Mushitaro activated his ability because Perfect Crime erases evidence not memories.

For all you know this could be a trap orchastrated by the Port Mafia. And thankfully it wasn't and Dazai's a beloved member of the Agency.

I hate this holiday the most i get the urge to vomit and my whole house smells like meat like it's not like we can't eat meat 364 days of the year I hate this sm😭

Fukuzawa Yukichi

Honestly? You caught him off guard and not much does that anymore.

You walked in holding a file and a name, and introduced yourself like someone pitching a very polite business proposal.

He just blinks at you. Blink. Blink. Sip of tea. Long pause. “…I see. Would you… like tea?”

That’s it. That’s his grand reaction to learning he might have a whole child. Tea.

He doesn’t question you like a stranger. He doesn’t reject you. But he doesn’t embrace you, either.

He doesn’t say much at first. Not because he’s cold because he’s buffering.

Instead of panicking, he very calmly offers you a seat and a plate of rice crackers like you’ve just informed him of a new filing cabinet.

Over time ge starts doing that awkward dad thing where he tries to bond, but in the weirdest, most formal way possible.

"Do you... Like cats?"

He begins placing items on your desk with no explanation: money, food, clothes.

You’re like: “...Is this from you?”

He’s like: “I don’t know what you mean.” (He very much does.)

Once you fell asleep in the ADA lounge, and he covered you with his coat. Didn’t mention it the next day.

Ranpo knew IMMEDIATELY.

”So that’s why he has been reading all those parenting books in secret.”

Surprisingly thoughtful, though. Leaves you snacks when you’re overwhelmed.

Atsushi actually thought you were his grandchild

Dazai starts calling you “Nepo Baby” with zero shame.

The day Kunikida finds out, he goes “The PRESIDENT?! Of ALL people?!”

The math doesn't add up in his head. He actually pulls out a calendar and starts trying to calculate when this happened.

”Wait if you were born then, and the president was then who was-” Dazai takes the calendar away.

Yosano LOVES it. ”Finally, some actual gossip”

Will absolutely tease you in front of Fukuzawa with the worst possible jokes. “They got your eyes, boss. And your ‘I won’t talk about my feelings’ disorder.”

Katai sends you a cryptic coded message welcoming you to the agency and you still haven’t cracked it. Refers to you as “Junior Boss Unit [JBU-01]” in his notes.

Mori Ougai

You show up with a blood test. Mori is... delighted like suspiciously.

He absolutely knew there was a possibility. He just… forgot. Or pretended to. Who knows.

He immediately assigns someone to run a background check on you, even if you already gave him everything. Just to be thorough.

He’s suddenly very invested in your health. “You’ve been eating well? Sleeping properly? Come by for a check-up. I am a doctor.”

He tries to be warm, but it comes out like a corporate villain learning human emotion via flashcards.

He won't try to make you his heir. It was Dazai's role. He wouldn't do that to you.

Your relationship with him is not warm. It’s not conventional. So he tells you stories about the power structure of the Mafia and his favorite surgical techniques. You pretend to be fascinated. He absolutely knows. He’s pleased anyway.

Also? Weirdly doting. Makes sure you eat, sends you supplements, lectures you about hydration and posture.

He doesn’t apologize for not being there. He doesn’t regret it, either.

He won’t force you into the Mafia. Not really. But he’ll make it very difficult to say no.

So don't ever make him choose between you and the mafia. It's obvious which side he will be on. Nothing can change that.

Chuuya nearly drops his wine glass when he finds out. “The Boss has a kid? Like a real one? Not just another creep from the medical ward?”

Akutagawa is very much in “If you’re Boss' child, prove it” mode. He respects his boss not you.

Higuchi has no idea how to treat the Boss’s kid. She’s always trying to be extra formal, even if you’re just eating lunch next to her.

Gin is quiet, like always. But bows politely.

Kouyou is your mafia aunt now. Quietly takes you under her wing. Teaches you things Mori never would.

Elise doesn't like you at first. She's basically a 10 year old who loves being spoiled. Eventually declares you her sidekick. That’s a promotion.

Kajii tries to build you a personalized bomb as a welcome gift. To symbolize explosive new beginnings. Someone stop this man.

Fukuzawa is not judgmental. Just… processing. The idea of Mori being anyone’s father is so deeply at odds with how he views reality.

“...Mori? A child?” And then “Willingly?”

Chief Taneda knew the moment Mori knew. “Has he weaponized you yet?”

Ango stares. Doesn’t blink. He just stares at Taneda like: “...You’re telling me that man has a biological legacy now?”

You’ve been on the special division's radar for a while

No yelling. No panic. Just paperwork. You’d think he got a parking ticket, not a full-grown anarchist with his DNA

He takes the file home. Re-reads it during dinner like it’s the sports section.

His expression doesn’t change. Not when Intelligence confirms your identity. Not when the ADA submits a warning report.

Not even when Mori sends him a condolence bouquet just to be petty.

He doesn’t deny it. He doesn’t try to discredit the intel. “I suppose I’ll need to update my will.”

He of course puts duty first. He would rather kill a person to save millions

“Yes, that’s my child. Yes, they are trying to destabilize the region. No, I will not be answering further questions.”

He’s not mad. He’s just mildly disappointed in your criminal branding.

Doesn’t report it to Ango right away.

He wonders if he should send a passive aggressive letter, or maybe a fruit basket (with a note: ‘Try to keep it legal, kid.’)

Keeps your wanted poster in his drawer like a school photo. Sometimes sighs fondly.

When you get captured, Taneda finds out immediately mostly because the news arrives with a very official report titled “Potential Conflict of Interest.”

The first thing he does? He clears his schedule, cancels a few meetings, and prepares to visit you himself.

No one questions him. They know he’s the kind of guy who handles things even if the thing is his own child blowing stuff up.

Sometimes he tries to give fatherly advice mid-interrogation:

“So, what were you planning to blow up?”

“The water plant.”

“Hm. Bold choice. But water infrastructure’s heavily defended. Try data centers next time. Hypothetically.”

If you ever try to escape and actually make it out you find a handwritten note in your coat pocket:

“I hope you have a better plan this time. Stay hydrated.”

Fukuchi loses it laughs. ”You? You made a kid and didn’t file a report? What happened, forget to put a tracking chip in them?” Relentlessly mocks Taneda about it over beer.

Fukuzawa just drinks his tea slowly. Sets it down with a thoughtful “Ah.”

“You’re his? That poor man. You’re going to age him ten years.” Tsujimura says.

Ango immediately goes into “government containment mode.” Begins drafting updated security files, future hypothetical protocol scenarios, and a PR disaster plan. (Just in case.)
