Characters that I personally feel embody the values, principles and the core of their respective organisations.

Without being the leader of said organisation.

For the Agency it’s Doppo Kunikida.

He’s the perfect flag bearer for them. His ideals that his life and ability abide by are the Agency. He’s anti-authoritarian and will always do what he feels is right to save innocent lives.

No matter the cost.

For the Port Mafia it’s Ryuuruo Hirotsu.

He’s been here the longest. He’s seen the rise and fall, the dark and shadows. He is all it could be and all it has been. Once you join the PM, even if you somehow leave you will find an ally in Hirotsu.

Because you hold a tie to the organisation he lives and dies by.

For the Special Ability Division it’s Sakaguichi Ango.

He’s dirtied his hands and broken his own heart for them. He is the eyes on the wall tracking everything. He is unpredictable in every sense and yet he’s the only one to be trusted to do what’s right.

With every betrayal he comes back to them to do it all over again.

For the Guild it’s Margaret Mitchell.

Her goal is the most closely aligned with the Guilds current goal: to restore what her families lost. She holds herself to a higher standard with an iron will to succeed because they’re counting on her.

When she’s out of the picture everything else falls apart.

For the Hunting Dogs it’s Teruko Okura.

She was born on the battlefield. It’s all she’s ever known. Her mind, body and ability abide by the will of her country. She is order in a world that is chaotic vile world. She destroyed herself to make her stronger because thats her one purpose.

She will fight every battle even when there’s no end.

For the Decay of Angels it’s Nikolai Gogol.

He plays the role expected of him to play. All the while hiding his true motives. He goes against what he was ordered to do as he sees fit. But there’s always been a method to his madness few truly catch. He is living breathing free will that goes against that which tries to cage him.

While simultaneously trapping himself inside of it.

One of my Guild headcanons is that after a while of working together, they just mutually decided not to question any of the weird things Lovecraft says and does.

He doesn't know what a fridge is? Alright. He suddenly speaks latin backwards and calls Steinbeck something in an ancient language no one ever heard of? Yeah, he does that sometimes. On your way to get a midnight snack, you spot Lovecraft in the kitchen with entirely black eyes and breathing heavily? Cool, he just wants a sandwich.

They're just all mutually like "Oh he did XYZ? Cool."

So like...is Asagiri planning on ever getting back to this? He showed Steinbeck with a cool new coat, now as a leader, and had him deliver some badass lines about crushing Fitzgerald...and was never heard from again.

I kept thinking he would show up at some crucial moment that would call for his ability specifically. But it feels like the plot has now moved way past anything his ability would be able to contend with.

It felt like such a deliberate inclusion, not just something thrown in with no purpose. I guess Asagiri decided to scrap that subplot.

does anyone remember when i used to just color doodles with a gradient

- Fitzgerald loved jazz and swing and so most of the Guild’s dance skills end at Watzes and Swing Dancing

Concept: Atsushi was never kicked out. He was punished for what the tiger did that night and was sent back to his cage.

Life returns to normal soon enough.

There’s a much more meager amount of food but Atsushi’s being punished with no dinner so doesn’t change anything for him.

Ataushi doesn’t question his punishment because for as long as he can recall if something bad happens it’s his fault.

This is no different.

Though there is one thing that plagues his mind: why he’s still here.

Atsushi knows that by now he’s the oldest kid. He knows that he’s aged out and yet unlike others there’s no talk of him leaving.

He doesn’t dare bring it up though.

As much as Atsushi may love the idea of leaving, the orphanage is all he knows.

It’s all he has.

He’s reading in the library when a foreign man with blonde hair he’s never met before strikes a conversation with him.

Well if feels more like the man is talking at him then anything else. As Atsushi barely has a moment to reply.

A matron walks over, all fake smiles and kindness as she grabs Atsushi by the arm and drags him away. Her grip is tight around his hand but he doesn’t dare shake her off.

“If I see you speaking to Mr Fitzgerald again, you’ll be on laundry duty for a month..”

Atsushi stammers out an apology and is thankfully let go. He sees the man’s blue eyes look at him in intrigue before he seemingly vanishes.

It’s not the only time he’s around either, and sometimes he’s flocked by others. Atsushi dutifully stays away from them the best he can.

But there was an accident where Atsushi ended up having to return a raccoon to one of them. The raccoon’s owner thanked him profusely before rushing off.

It was a very weird day.

Atsushi’s not sure why they’re here but he’s noticed that they seem rather interested in him.

Especially Mr Fitzgerald.

“I suggest you leave here. There is no tiger here.”

“Don’t bother to hide it, we all know who he is. We’re merely asking as a formality.”

“You know nothing.”

“We know enough. Sounds like a sweet boy, nothing like I expected. I bet you didn’t even tell him, did you?”

“How do you-”

“Every place has its rats. Speaking off, you better hurry on and let us meet the boy before he comes a knocking at your door.

And trust me when I say that this time he doesn’t plan to leave empty handed.”
