Basketball
(a buckxtommy mini fic)
“You're not dressed,” Tommy noted the second Buck opened the door.
Buck looked down at his jeans and sweatshirt. “I would argue I am very much dressed.”
Tommy rolled his eyes, walking into the loft. “For the basketball game, Evan. I told you it was today at two. You told me to come pick you up.”
“Yes, I did,” Buck agreed. “But I never told you I was playing basketball.”
Tommy frowned. “You're not gonna play?”
“Oh, no, no, no,” Buck laughed out, shaking his head. “No, that's not happening again.”
“What do you mean?” Tommy asked, confused. “I thought you liked basketball.”
Buck moved closer to Tommy. “What I liked was being with you. Now, I get to be with you all the time.”
“So you were using basketball as a way to get to me?” Tommy asked, his face scrunching into a smile.
“One hundred percent,” Buck agreed. “And now I've got you,” he tugged on Tommy's shirt, pulling him in for a kiss, “So I never have to play again,” he continued once he pulled away. “I will, however, very much enjoy watching.” Another kiss, deeper this time, longer too. It left Tommy feeling breathless.
“Screw it,” Tommy said once he caught his breath. He began leading Buck backwards towards the stairs. “We can be late.”
Buck laughed into the next kiss, nearly tripping up the first step. “They're gonna be calling you.”
“Don't care.” Another kiss. Tommy kept his hands at Buck's waist, guiding him up the stairs.
“You're the one bringing the basketball,” Buck reminded him, although he was pulling his shirt off at the same time, so it wasn't like he was really fighting this turn of events.
“They'll find another one.” And then Buck was gently pushed onto the bed. Tommy quickly tossed his own shirt off before joining him.
Buck sucked in a breath as Tommy kissed a path down his chest. “Can't argue with that.”

Buck: *Having 'Sad Hoodie Hours™️' at Maddie's house*
Maddie: *Handing him a mug of hot chocolate* Okay, spill. Why do you have that "My goldfish ran away from home" face on?
Buck: Me and Tommy have been on opposite shifts for like 3 weeks now. I just miss him and I'm trying to not act out about it. I actually considered driving to the LAFD Air Base and starting a trashcan fire in the parking lot. It's either that or sending him notes made with letters cut out of old magazines.
Maddie: You know, I’ve got a whole box of old positive pregnancy tests in my bathroom cabinet. If we hurry, we could get to FedEx before closing and have him in a panic by noon tomorrow.
Buck: You’re a national treasure and I love you.

The fact they all neglect the existence of episode 2.16, Bobby Begins Again, where Tommy is a fully accepted member of the 118 and hangs out with Chim, Hen, and Bobby, tells us everything. Selective memory is very helpful if you have no other arguments than just outright bi-/homophobia. Or do they really think Chim, Hen, and Bobby would enjoy Tommy's company if they still h*te him? How about they should get over with it. Isn't that what we hear all the time when they say BuckTommy bones?
