But even more important to me than that... in some official Buffy media, we actually have Angel telling Buffy about Connor. Hallelujah!

There, how is that for fandom accuracy? Yeah, I changed 'Universally Despised' to 'Most Often Despised' because every character has at least one person that likes them, saying universally is like making the people who do go poof from existence. And I don't want to exclude anyone, you know. I guess the same could be said for 'Universally Beloved' because some people actually do dislike Buffy and so on. I feel like I've seen less negativity towards Dawn ever since her actress, Michelle Trachtenberg, (rest in peace 💔) passed away. This doesn't reflect my opinion though, I like them all. 💙

so I had this thought at literally 3am the other night, sat up in bed and wrote 16 pages in my notes app

buffynatural - probably a 20 year old concept at this point. buffy is dean, dawn is sam, giles is bobby, spike is crowley, willow is charlie, etc. the winchester brothers are the summers sisters, it works perfectly.

BUT I feel like the most obvious thing to do would be to have angel be cas. extremely similar vibes, he’s literally called angel, destiel can be bangel, perfect. but I actually don’t gaf about bangel at all and am in love with charisma carpenter SO!!!

CORDY AS CAS.

I feel like if you’d only watched buffy, this would sound insane, but with ats context I think it’s actually perfect. cordy’s status as a higher being / part demon / power that be (?) makes her a perfect character to turn into an angel, and her arc on both buffy and angel was about understanding humanity, becoming a better person and breaking out of old habits and social hierarchies, just like cas. her and cas both have sort of different flavours of neurodivergent-coding - not understanding social cues, being brutally honest, etc. if you took away her pop culture references, cordelia’s vibe and way of speaking could translate perfectly to a bitchy, sassy angel.

also just. picture it. long messy hair, big trenchcoat, loose tie, tucked in shirt, pencil skirt or pantsuit. tell me she wouldn’t look so soul-crushingly beautiful like oh my GOD

oh and obviously the main appeal is it’s coffy. it’s cordy x buffy destiel au yuri are you picking up what I’m putting down are you as insane about this as I am because I highly doubt it

the tragedy of dawn btvs and connor ats is that their lives are both "lies," only with dawn it's that all those things did not actually happen to her and with connor it's that all of those things did, in fact, happen to him, except the good stuff, which did not. tragic "annoying" buffyverse teens get behind me, i will protect you

I wish that Tumblr had less of Cangel and more of Bangel and Xandelia. Angel had to become like Xander in order to match Cordelia while Cordelia had to become a dumb version of Buffy to be compatible with Xander-like Angel. Cordelia was her smarter self with Xander and had better chemistry with him. While Cordy was in a coma, Angel went to Sunnydale to kiss Buffy and spent most of the other part of that coma fighting with Spike over Buffy. To put the cherry on top, Buffy never kissed Angel's son while having amnesia and let her body be in a love triangle between father and son.

If Buffy found out Angel kicked out Connor she would also be told why and, I think, maybe cut Angel some slack. I don't believe Angel throwing out Connor was, in fact, the same as Joyce throwing out Buffy. There is a quick, easy-to-miss scene towards the end of Angel season 3 that supports this viewpoint, one where Connor throws Angel in the ocean in a box with the intention of leaving him there forever to shrivel up in eternal agony and insanity

Now Buffy might have done that to Joyce at some point tbf it's been a while since I watched the high school seasons but I feel like maybe there's a difference between removing your extremely strong and dangerous son, who tried to put you in the Torture Nexus last time you saw him/the surface world, from your home (AND with an important "You can't be here yet" attached), and telling your daughter that if she leaves she can never come back because you demanded an explanation and then refused to accept the truthful one she gave you even though she's saying she slays vampires and thirty seconds ago you saw her slay a vampire.

Just because two scenes would look real symmetrical if you put a few lines out of context next to each other in a gifset does not the same thing make
