I know you said you'd be fine with hc but you get a whole fic insteadđŸ„° also I got rained on so much last week and now I'm full of cold I HATE this time of year ugh. I hope you like this I really do đŸ„°đŸ„°
This might be one of my favourite things I've written.
Tumblr media
You regret every decision you've made leading up to this point.
Grey clouds gather above you, you look up, wincing.
You thought you could make it home before the rain. Only wearing a light jacket, definitely not equipped for the kind of weather about to unleash on your head.
Fuck you whisper, hands clenching as thunder rolls in.
You shove your jacket off and hold it above your head in a pathetic attempt to retain at least a bit of dignity. You know you can't make it home with the storm, your anxiety already heightening with every crack you hear.
But you can make it to hannibal.
He's the only one who knew of your fear. Having to reveal it one day when you were both on the way to a crime scene.
The rain falls hard on the front of the car, wipers working overtime to clear it, your amazed hannibal can even see through the haze of rain. Your breath hitches as you hear the beginnings of a storm. You hoped he didn't notice. But this is hannibal. Of course he did. He glances over at you, sees your chest heaving and pulls over.
"Y/N" he says softly, shifting in his seat to face you.
But the rain is coming down so fast and hard and it's like you can feel it, in your soul. Your head spins as you try and take a deep breath. Hannibal places his hand on your thigh and squeezes, once again calling your name. When you don't look at him, he reaches out and grips your chin gently.
His face is flooded with concern
"I- can't
You push your hand into your chest, trying to ease the weight that's settled there.
"I know, I know, y/n, keep your eyes on me, okay?" Hannibal soothes.
You force yourself to keep looking at him, his big hand still rests cupping your chin, applying a slight pressure.
"Good" he smiles, hannibal weighs up the options in his head. Getting out of the car is out of the question, and he asks "do you trust me?" And you nod, so hannibal unclips your belt and says "Come here" before pulling you onto his lap. He immediately holds you tight, pushing you into his chest. "It'll be over soon my love" he soothes as he holds you against him. You can hear his heart beat as you lay on him, and eventually it calms you.
By the time you knock frantically at his door, your positively soaking wet, teeth chattering, tears blending in with the rain running down your face.
Hannibal opens the door and your hit instantly with a wall of warm. His brow furrows in concern as he takes in your state.
"S-storm" you mutter, looking down at the floor before you feel two hands wrap around your waist and pull you into the house.
Hannibal immediately pulls you into his embrace, placing a gentle kiss to your forehead. You shrink into his embrace, his presence beginning to melt away the fear you felt.
Shivers rack your body, cold setting in, hannibal holds you tighter.
'I've got you' he says.
"Come on, let's get you warmed up hm?" His hand comes to cup your face as he speaks.
He leads you to the lounge, where the fire is roaring.
"Let's get out of those wet clothes my love" he says, his hands rest lightly on your waist. Waiting.
You look at him, his eyes blown wide, hannibal swallows visibly.
"Would you like me to leave while you change?" He asks.
"No" you whisper.
Hannibal lifts your soaking shirt over your head. His breath catches in his throat as he does, lips parted slightly as he takes you in.
You slip out of your pants just as hannibal places the dry shirt over your head. It falls just below your knees.
Hannibal runs his fingers over your neck "you, are exquisite" he says, slightly breathless.
Heat rises to your face, warming you. Your still shivering slightly though, and hannibal of course, notices.
"Come here" he whispers, sitting down on the sofa and pulling you on top of him.
You let out a moan as you feel his cock against you, sitting deliciously against your core.
Hannibals cock hardens even more at the noise you made.
"Your still colder than I'd like darling" he says seriously, running his hands up and down your exposed thigh.
"Mm" is all you manage to say.
"I was working on my memory palace, when you knocked"
"M sorry" you mutter, ducking your head.
Hannibal tuts, lifting your chin to look at him.
"No, do not apologise, but, I do need to finish my thoughts" he says as his cock twitches.
"How about we stay like this until I'm done hm? And then I'll cook and you can spend the night?" He asks.
You nod.
"Words, darling" hannibal says sternly.
"Yes" you breathe out.
You shift slightly, his clothed cock pushing against you making you drip with need.
Hannibal grips your hips and stills you.
"Not until I'm finished" he grins. Before pushing you back slightly so he can free his cock from his pants.
You watch in awe as his thick cock springs up against his stomach.
Hannibal places his hands back on your hips before guiding you to sit on his cock.
You close your eyes, pleasure overtaking you as he sinks inside.
"No my love, you keep your eyes on me" he says, his voice gravelly.
"Hanni, please" you whisper, his cock filling you stretching you so good.
He ignores you. Continuing his thoughts as he twitches his cock every now and then inside you.
He keeps one hand gripping your chin, looking at him as you warm his cock.
"You feel so good, sitting on my cock like this, so perfect" he says.
Your chest heaves at his words.
"M so full, please, I need you" you choke out, feeling every ridge of his cock inside you, he pushed himself up on the couch slightly, causing him to hit another spot inside you.
"Fuck" you cry out.
Hannibal smirks, before wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into him. He begins to trace small patterns on your back.
"Hanni, it feels so good" you whisper into his chest, clenching around him.
"I know my love, just a bit longer I promise, your doing so well for me".
You whine at his words, and hannibal keeps talking to you like that, you relax into him, his cock still snug inside you as he holds you, warming you up, as you warm his cock.

Kissing him shut, svt reaction đŸ’–đŸ„°
Or accidentally drinking tea/coffee from the same side svt drink, their reaction đŸ€âœš
ᝰ.ᐟ 🐇 — SVT ; ! kissing him to shut up

CHOI SEUNGCHEOL ;
okay so, imagine you & him arguing not full on, just innocent bickering, you’ve had enough of his bullshit but he looked so hot when he’s frustrated, so when he was gonna continue his rant you grabbed his neck & fully gave him a passionate kiss which led to you & him making up ;).
YOON JEONGHAN ;
he would be in a photoshoot asking if he looked good in the outfit that the stylist picked out, to which you answered of course. i mean he’s a greek god you would tell him he’d look gorgeous in a potato sack “please baby tell me the truth do I look go“ your lips landed on his, he widened his eyes then quickly responded by deepening the kiss, you could feel him smiling against your lips.
HONG JISOO ;
josh would be talking about his day, while you were here admiring his pretty pretty face, god you just wanted to kiss him badly. “and when I we-, baby are you listening?” he quirked his eyebrow then suddenly you gave him a peck “sorry couldn’t resist” you sheepishly said, he just smiled then pulled you in for another kiss but this time it was longer.
WEI JUNHUI ;
idk but it I have a vision of him calling the other members & like while he’s talking about the most random stuff on earth you’d just walk in & give him the sweetest pecks here & there, he would get flustered 100%, like my boy gets so shy when you kiss him infront the members.
KWON SOONYOUNG ;
craazy take but you & him in the practice room him getting frustrated about not getting the move right & starts blabbering his worries away, you wanting to comfort him went to kiss him lovingly then reassuring him that he’ll nail it in no time but he doesn’t need to beat himself up to it :((
JEON WONWOO ;
wonu :( ugh he would be a dummy not giving you attention because he was all caught up on a game on his phone & you just wanted his love & care, but of course he was too busy playing away, annoying him to give you attention he would say “y/nnn!!” whining then you’d kiss him & he’d forget why he was mad & just kiss you till infinity.
LEE JIHOON ;
you would be sitting on his lap playing with his hair & being all giggly to whatever he was saying then kissing him do shut up “did anyone tell you that you’re the prettiest person ever?” you said against his lips, he felt really shy about it then continued to kiss you, what can’t you just compliment your boyfriend??
LEE SEOKMIN ;
we all know how seokmin is a little ball of energy when he gets comfy with someone so imagine his partner hes excited about everything that has happened while he’s away, & you just stared adorning how he looks & the shimmer of excitement in his eyes while he was talking about something that happened in soundcheck you grabbed his cheeks & kissed him deep with a rush feel of love.
KIM MINGYU ;
I just vision you helping mingyu with shaving his stub, aaaa omg!! like you’re trying to shave him & he’s all squirmy & a gaunt it saying how he doesn’t want to do it just being an absolute brat about it & you just kiss him to shush, my man would be shut.
XU MINGHAO ;
minghao loves to paint right like he’s so artsy showing you his work, you’re amazed by his creativity & talent, he dares to utter that it isn’t good? how dare he! he’s literally better than picasso you said passionate about your statement, he felt doubt as he continued with his words, you came up not caring you’d be needed by the paint kissing him & reassuring him it’s amazing like him.
BOO SEUNGKWAN ;
okay so you & seungkwan out on a karaoke night him singing his heart out with you, looking at him so tenderly you just have the instinct to kiss him so much, like how can someone looks so attractive by just singing?? you were so lucky to have your boyfriend, he continued to sing suddenly he got cut off by your lips smashing on his, he was surprised at first but then welcomed your kiss by kissing you back & hugging you.
CHWE HANSOL ;
you & hansol would be out on a date to a museum or such, you would ask about a painting he took liking of, he would explain to you with full details!, you would be giddy about him being excited about telling you about all the details the painting had contained of, cutting him off by a small peck on his lips, you’d smile then say “continue” the smile widening by the second, he would be surprised & really flustered he’s at a loss of words when goes back to explaining
LEE CHAN ;
chan would be drunk & would be telling you how much loves & cares for you, now you being a little tipsy but sober, you understood everything he said & it made your heart warm up, “i love you so so so muchhhh~” he would pout saying how much love he has for you, grabbing him you kissed him on his lips then all over his face saying how much you love him too, he would get soo shy, cheeks burning up in a red-ish color

you were nice to me and acknowledged my existence so i hope you know that means you’ve unknowingly asked for all my dumbass, hyper-specific 12AM bullshit thoughts.
you can turn this into a mini blurb or teen wolf pack headcanon - whatever works for you, but who do you think in the pack is would be into you wearing a necklace (or any form of jewelry really) with their name/initial on it? are they buying it for you or is it something you would have to initiate, do they want one too with your name/initial on it?
i know it’s not everyone’s thing but i think it can be really adorable đŸ„°
if this isn’t your vibe just let me know, no biggie đŸ©·
This is absolutely my vibe!!! I love this prompt so much omg. Also, I love it when people come to me with their random 12am bullshit - whether it's just to rant in my inbox about fictional characters or to suggest fic ideas. This is what Tumblr inboxes are for
My requests for Teen Wolf are open!! Just make sure to read my rules first!!
What would the pack think of you wearing a necklace that represents them?
A/N: I changed it from an initial to a representative symbol, partially because of a tiktok that Star sent me the other day of someone selling Teen Wolf necklaces in an Etsy shop that I can't stop thinking about and I want one so badly, and partially because I think Derek's tattoo would make a really amazing necklace.
Warnings: descriptions of canon level violence, I tried to make the reader as gender neutral as possible (please let me know if I messed up anywhere on that), Isaac's low self eesteem due to his father's abuse, mentions of Jackson x Lydia, references to sex (but nothing descriptively smutty), I think that's it.
Includes: Derek Hale, Isaac Lahey, Scott McCall, Stiles Stilinski, Erica Reyes (I got tired while writing this so that's all the characters we have lmao)
Tumblr media
Derek would love it. It would be his idea - he would be the one to give you the necklace.
He met you shortly before becoming an Alpha, and you were the defining member of his pack. You were the first person he had bitten in order to turn them - you had been bleeding out outside of the Hale house after Peter had stuck his claws through your stomach, sensing Derek's attachment to you (even if it was something that Derek himself hesitated to admit), and he had called Derek weak for taking a liking to you. So the moment after Derek had slashed Peter's throat open, making him the Alpha, he had used his new found power to bite you, ultimately saving your life.
You were someone he had once viewed as his weakness, but he had come to realize that you were his ultimate strength. You showed him how to interact with Erica, Isaac, and Boyd with kindness and understanding, you showed him how to harness his Alpha power with more than just the anger he harboured inside. You showed him love - something his isolated heart hadn't felt in years.
To him, the triskele tattoo on his back represented the three forms of a wolf could take - the powerful, leading Alpha, the following Beta, and isolated, weak Omega. It represents how a wolf can rise to power, but he can also fall to weakness if he's not careful.
When he gave you a necklace with that same symbol as its pendant, he explained to you why it was so important to him that you wear it.
"You have helped me rise to my full potential." He told you, pinning the clasp behind your neck. "Every time I look at this around your neck, I want to be reminded of that. I want to be reminded not to fall to anything less." He kissed the base of your neck, causing you to break into a large smile as his thick, warm arms wrapped around you from behind. "I need to be reminded to serve you a good, loyal Alpha every single day. Not to fall back into my former weaknesses."
"I thought I was your weakness?"
"No. You're my strength."
Tumblr media
Isaac would be unsure about it. And it most definitely was not his idea.
It started with you and Lydia hanging out before a lacrosse game - the two of you were getting ready in her room, and while she finished up her makeup, she said 'oh!' as if suddenly remembering something, and then went to her jewellery box. You looked on in curiosity as she pulled out a necklace, and when you squinted closer, you saw that it was a silver pendant with the number 37 on it.
"What's that?" You asked.
"It's Jackson's jersey number." She told you. "It's good luck for a player's girlfriend to wear his jersey number, and I didn't want some big ugly jacket with the numbers written on the back."
It made you wonder if you should wear Isaac's jersey number to the game, even though the two of you had been playing around with dating, not exactly official. Isaac was hesitant on PDA and labels. Lydia encouraged you, though, and she ended up using a red lipstick to write his number 14 on your cheek, making you look like a crazed fan - but everybody at the game already knew who you were there for.
Before the next game, Lydia gifted you with a necklace similarly to her own, with the promise that she wouldn't have to freeze her ass off in the stands alone - and to her, it was like the two of you had matching best friend necklaces, representing the lugheads that you cheered for on the field together. At first, you only wore it to games. But then you found comfort in wearing it all the time.
Isaac, of course, took notice of this - his eyes easily magnetized to the number 14 glimmering on the silver chain around your neck.
He felt like he didn't deserve to have a mark on you. He was undeserving of claiming you, undeserving of being called your 'boyfriend'. He was worthless, and you wearing something that represented some kind of serious relationship between the two of you - why did you want him? Why?
After a long, tiring night of talking, some tears, and eventually some kissing - he finally understood. And from then on, he was more than proud to have his 14 constantly shining around your neck.
Tumblr media
Scott would love it. But it would be your idea.
The two of you had to date in secret - your family had a loyalty, an alignment with the Argents, so you couldn't be seen with Scott in public, creating a deep frustration between the two of you when you couldn't hold hands in the hallways or go on 'real' dates like other couples could. Scott expressed a deep frustration at loving you, being your boyfriend, but not getting to be yours twenty-four seven like he wanted to, and that's what caused you to come up with the idea.
You got a silver heart locket necklace, and inside, put a picture of the two of you. Well - it was a piece of the picture of the two of you. You grabbed a photo of the two of you kissing, and cut out the space that had formed between your necks when your lips came together in a kiss - to anybody else (most important, if your family saw it) it would have looked like a photo of blank sky. But you and Scott were the only two people in the world who knew what the photo truly was.
And you gave him the rest of the photo with the missing heart shape cut out between the two of you so that he could be reminded of your next words every single time he looked at it.
"The space between us isn't what matters." You told him firmly, pointing to the space you had cut out of the photo. "No matter how big that space gets, we always know how much we love each other. We'll always have each other."
From then on, every single time he looked at the silver heart dangling around your neck, it was something he remembered with a smile. No matter how far the two of you had to be apart, no matter for how long - your love kept you together.
Tumblr media
Stiles would absolutely love it. It would be his idea.
Stiles would be incredibly shy and shitting his pants nervous about asking you to wear his numbers, but the week before, you had asked him to be your boyfriend after a roaring success of a first date that he had no clue how he landed with you. His first game as a first linger was coming up, and he felt like things could only go up from here.
He had you, he was first line, so - he steadied his courage as he tightly gripped the black velvet box that had the shiny gold necklace in it, praying that this wouldn't be too much, too soon. Praying that he wasn't going to scare you off.
"Um, hey." He greeted you at your locker, a ball of nervous energy that had you giving him a questioning eyebrow.
"Good morning." You smiled at him, wondering why he was acting so strange. You leaned in and kissed him on the lips - a light, chaste kiss in greeting, and he felt himself nearly knocked over by the joy of it.
This was really real. He had you.
"What's that?" You asked, motioning toward the box in his hands.
"Oh, uh - a gift." He said. "For you."
"Stiles, you didn't have to. It's not my birthday or anything."
"I know." He said. "I want to - to do something special. To celebrate you being mine."
An intense wave of butterflies overtook you at this, and you look on in awe as he opened the box, presenting the necklace to you.
"It's - um - it's my jersey number. Ya know - 24. Just - it's a thing that people usually do, wearing their boyfriend's number... and I - am I being too weird? I'm sorry." He went off rambling the longer that you didn't speak, and you quickly raised a hand to his wrist, trying to calm him with a soothing touch there.
"I love it." You assured him with a smile. "Thank you. I can't wait to wear it."
"I could... help you put it on now?"
You nodded enthusiastically, and he excitedly grabbed it out of the box.
From then on, you never took it off. You were more than proud to be his, and proud to show it off by wearing the necklace.
Tumblr media
Erica would fucking love it, but it wouldn't really be intentional on either of your behalves.
One thing Erica never expected about becoming a werewolf - how possessive it would make her. But being able to smell when someone had touched you, being able to hear how hard your heart pounded when you were scared or anxious - it made her want to rip apart anybody who even looked at you the wrong way. The two of you weren't even officially dating. Your friendship always crossed weird lines - you were the only person who was kind to her when she was an outcast, and after she transformed, you were the only person she knew for certain didn't just want her for her body.
The sex between the two of you was amazing, but you never talked about feelings.
One night in the haste of undressing, she dropped a necklace on your floor - a nameplate necklace that her parents had gotten for her birthday a few years ago. You didn't want to forget to bring it back to her, and you thought it was funny, a kind of joke - so you put it on. You thought nothing of having the name 'Erica' dangling around your neck in bold silver letters.
When Erica saw it - it drove all of her wolfish instincts insane. Seeing her claim on you, her name literally written across you - it took everything she had in her not to throw you across a table in the middle of the library and fuck your brains out, then and there.
And she saw the way other people reacted to it too. The way guys would go to flirt with you, but then their eyes would dart down to the necklace and then look to her, as if finally noticing her presence glaring at them, telling them to back off - and then they would scatter in fear. It was the first time in weeks that the two of you actually had peace.
So she implored you to keep it. She loved having a silent little claim on you. After all, wolves love claiming their territory, right?

Last night I tested my mic under many conditions. Of course that meant a rigorous stress test. This rec is after the test was complete. Relaxing while the endorphins flowed. I only intended to record 10 mins
but with her pounding in my ears like this I couldn’t stop listening. Each beat as amazing and hypnotising as the last.
Around min 17 (maybe earlier) you can hear her split so well defined. My brain was in awe listening to it, like my heart was galloping. As I lay there listening I felt overwhelming appreciation for her. She doesn’t sound like other hearts. While the meds make me quiet, they put her on edge. But her attitude and personality and reactivity only makes me love her more. Every beat feels intentional and full of purpose and I never want to take her for granted because she’s beautiful. đŸ„°
Anyways I’m sorry about that side quest into my appreciation fluff 😅 I hope you can feel even a tiny bit of what I feel when I hear her beating inside of me.

i can’t get enough of gavriel x rowans sister, what do you think about one where she meets aelin and they instantly hot it off, reader likes to read and eat sweets aswell so they bond quickly and rowan couldn’t be happier that his two fav people in the world love eachother so much. And also what so you think about a timeskip to after the war when everything is at peace and reader finds out she’s pregnant. She doesn’t know yet but gavriel and rowan smell it on her the second she and aelin come back from shopping, how cuteđŸ„°đŸ„°
Green napkins
You had been over the moon excited to finally meet your brother’s mate. Gods, you still remembered the day he had told you that he had a feeling that Aelin was his actual mate. Oh, how he had cried for Lyria. How much he cursed Maeve. You had held him through it all. Trying to soothe the aches in his heart. But then pain had been replaced by so much peace and calmness when you had asked him to tell you about her and from the way he spoke alone, you knew that he was truly in love.
"Sweetheart, this is all very sweet but there's only four of us tonight", you felt Gavriel's hands slowly sneaking across your hips. You had been cooking all morning. With the war over and you being able to come home, Rowan was finally bringing Aelin over and you might have been slightly too excited... maybe? Just eleven different dishes too excited. "But this has to be perfect", you said stepping back slightly, so you could look at the table. "My heart, it was perfect an hour ago and it is just as perfect now", Gavriel reassured you. "Do you like green or blue more?", you yanked the napkins off the table showing them to your mate. Gavriel cracked a smile and you instantly frowned, "This is serious Gavriel".
Raising his hands, he glanced over at the table, "I would go with green", "Well then we are switching the glasses", you breathed out, reaching for the glass but Gavriel caught your hand bringing you into his embrace, "It's okay to be nervous but I know that you two will love one another", he muttered, carefully brushing some of your curls away from your face. "Who said I was nervous?", you shook your head but one look at Gavriel and you knew that fooling him would never work.
"I just... I missed so much. They had gone through so much together. You all have and I was under a fucking mountain like a princess doing nothing", you huffed out. It had been a hard choice to make. Maeve had targeted you multiple times. You had been the only weak link keeping both Rowan and Gavriel in iron control. They thought that they had played the system in hiding you in another court but for that alone both of them had been forced to watch you being tortured for days, nearly bleeding to death. That had been the last straw and with the help of a couple of friends, you had been hidden in a place no one would ever look. Or dare to look.
"I had to keep you safe, had to", Gavriel said, cupping your face, "It kept you alive, gave me a chance to come back to you". You rested your forehead against his. He would slip to visit you from time to time when the blood oath started to frail. And what a meeting it was. Full of passion and lust and desire. A handful of stolen time. Where your bodies spoke louder than words. A slight swell in your stomach a clear evidence of that.
"Kept both of you safe and so I will not apologize for being selfish here", Gavriel admitted, "because I know that you would have been in front lines", "Hell yeah, I would have", you breathed out. Gavriel leaned in to press a kiss to your temple. "But now we are growing a family so mommy, no battlefields for you. Ever", he booped your nose before rubbing your stomach gently. You rolled your eyes, turning to fold napkins neatly. And since you knew that fighting him was pointless you had dropped the topic immediately.
Aelin was exactly how you had imagined her to be. In hindsight even more amazing than you had painted her to be in your head. Queen or not her shy smile as she greeted you told you all you needed to know. She was worried because Rowan was never going to leave you. The only family of his left that he was ready to die for. So your opinion mattered in this.
"I bought you some of my favorite sweets”, she had shyly handed you a box, “I wanted to get more but Rowan said it was already too much”. You glared at your brother and he simply lifted his hands, “There was no implication in that comment, just didn’t want to leave the poor man with an empty shop”. Gavriel carefully took the box in, giving you a chance to reach for Aelin, “I have a feeling you and I will be great friends”, you muttered.
“And I have a feeling we will be in a lot of trouble”, Rowan nudged Gavriel’s shoulder, who tried to suppress a smile. “Shut up, Rowan”, you and Aelin both huffed, falling into fits of giggles straight after. Leaving the two males to shake their heads. “How you deal with her is beyond me sometimes”, Rowan barely whispered, making Gavriel smirk, “Careful, she cried over napkins today”.
And the evening couldn’t be more perfect.
You got to fuss over the three of them. Filling up their plates over and over again. The conversation flowed so easily as if you had known your brother’s mate for centuries on end. “Sit down, darling”, Gavriel muttered as you rounded the table once more. “But the peach pie”, you pointed towards the kitchen. “I’ll get it”, he said softly, leaning over to kiss your temple. “But you still need to
”, “Flip it over onto the white plate, tap the top, and let it slide out of the tray without poking it”, Gavriel said with a smile, “I got it petal”, he reassured you. “I’ll help you with the plates”, Rowan pushed back his chair after giving his mate’s hand a reassuring squeeze.
“I could tell that Gavriel was a man with a big heart before but with you
”, Aelin trailed off, “He mentioned you so much while we
 you know
”, she shifted awkwardly. “I hope only good things, cause he might end up sleeping outside”, you huffed playfully. “I too have to say that I have never seen Rowan so at ease before”, your eyes darted toward the kitchen. Where you could just about see two giant soldiers fighting a pie tray. “I love him”, Aelin’s words were barely a whisper and you instantly gazed at her, reaching over the table to clasp her hand, “Oh, I can tell. Your eyes say it all”.

Stay With Me
Zevlor stormed into Serafina's bedchamber, his heavy boots echoing against the polished wooden floor with resounding thuds. The steel and leather armor he wore clinked with each determined step. He stopped just inside the threshold, his nostrils flaring, as if sniffing the air for danger. His sharp claws flexed unconsciously, ready to lash out at any threat.
Serafina, seated at her vanity, jumped at his sudden entrance, brush stilling in her hand. She turned toward him, eyes wide with surprise. She was a vision of grace, clad in a thin, almost see-through nightgown that clung to her frame, revealing more than it concealed. The candlelight flickered, highlighting the rich yellow of her skin.
"Zevlor!" she exclaimed, clutching the sheer fabric of her nightgown as if to shield herself from his gaze.
The scandal of having a man, let alone one as formidable as Zevlor, in her bedchamber was enough to make her heart race. Yet, beneath the alarm, a hidden pleasure fluttered within her. The thought of him barging in, abruptly and unbidden, sent a thrill through her veins.
His eyes darted to the corners and shadows, his pointed ears twitching as he strained to detect any sound of an intruder. “Serafina, I heard—” he began, but his words faltered as his eyes fell upon her attire.
When the realization sank in, the flush of adrenaline quickly gave way to mortification. His eyes met hers, and he looked unsure, almost boyish in his embarrassment. The weight of his misstep bearing down on him as he took in her barely-clad form. Her nightgown, so sheer that it left little to the imagination, only deepened the crimson tint on his cheeks.
He snapped his gaze away, his horns catching the light as he turned his head sharply. "I—I apologize," Zevlor stammered, voice slightly strained.
He stepped back, trying to compose himself. "I believed there was a threat. I did not mean to intrude." His long, pointed tail flicked in agitation behind him, betraying his distress.
Serafina’s initial shock melted into a sweet smile. She had not expected him to enter her room with such haste, but she found herself secretly pleased.
She rose gracefully from her vanity, her movements gentle as she approached him. “It’s alright,” she began gently. “You were only doing your duty, after all.” She reached out, her clawed hand lightly brushing his armored arm, feeling the cold steel under her warm touch. “Perhaps next time, you might knock?”
Zevlor nodded, his gaze still avoiding hers, his focus shifting to the floor. “Yes, of course. I will. Again, my apologies.”
He took another step back, his armor feeling heavier than ever.
“There’s no need to run from me,” she teased, “I won’t bite.”
She paused looking up at him through her eyelashes. “Unless you’d ask me to.”
Zevlor froze, her flirtatious words hanging in the air between them. His eyes, which had been firmly fixed on the floor, flickered up to meet hers. Serafina's expression was coy, her smile both innocent and mischievous.
“Serafina
” Zevlor began, his voice low and uncertain.
She took a step closer, closing the small distance between them. She looked up at him, the corners of her pouty red lips curling into a smile that sent a rush of heat through him. Her fingers lingered on his armored arm and he swore he could feel her warmth through it.
“I did not mean to intrude, truly,” he repeated, clearing his throat, which suddenly felt all too dry.
His eyes traced the contours of her face, the elegant spirals of her horns, the fullness of her lips. She was so different from him; so light, where he was heavy.
Serafina chuckled, her laughter a melody to his ears. “Intrude? No, Zevlor. You’re welcome here, always.” She lifted her hand from his arm, tracing a slow path down to his bracer.
Zevlor’s breath caught in his throat, the dainty brush of her fingertips, sent a shiver through him. It was a simple gesture, yet it held an intimacy that he wasn’t accustomed to.
Her gaze never wavered. “You’re so used to your armor, aren’t you?” she mused, her voice gentle, almost as if she were speaking to a skittish animal. “Always ready for a fight, always guarded.”
Zevlor nodded, his throat still tight. “Old habits,” he managed to say, forcing an awkward chuckle. “They die hard.”
Serafina smiled, a hint of mischief dancing in her eyes. “Maybe some habits are worth breaking,” she suggested, her tone light, though there was an underlying meaning in her words. She let her hand linger on his bracer for a moment longer, her touch a quiet invitation, before finally stepping back.
“Perhaps you’re right,” he admitted quietly. “Though, you make it sound so simple.”
She shrugged lightly, her expression turning thoughtful. “It doesn’t have to be hard, Commander. Not everything is a battle.”
Zevlor's voice was huskier than he intended as he spoke. "Please, call me Zevlor," he insisted, his eyes flickering down almost involuntarily. The silky straps of her nightgown had slipped down her shoulders, revealing the soft curve of her breasts.
He swallowed hard, trying to rein in the sudden wave of desire that rushed through him. He was a disciplined man, yet standing here in front of her, he felt like an untested youth, vulnerable to the simplest of temptations. All the blood in his body seemed to rush downward, and he shifted uncomfortably, struggling to maintain his composure.
She noticed the shift in his expression, the way his eyes darkened, a smoldering flame rekindled. She didn’t bother to adjust the fallen straps of her nightgown, leaving them to rest where they were, exposing the smooth skin of her shoulders. She gazed at him, daring and playful, silently inviting him closer.
He felt his restraint hanging by a thread. He was so close to her, close enough to feel the warmth radiating from her body, to catch the faint scent of lavender on her skin.
“I—” He started to speak, but the words caught in his throat. What was he even going to say? That he should leave? That he couldn’t stay here, not with her looking at him like that, not with the memory of her touch etched into his mind? Or perhaps that he wanted to stay, more than anything.
She seemed to sense his turmoil, her smile sweet as she stepped closer, her fingers brushing lightly over the fabric of his armor. “Zevlor,” Serafina said with a tenderness that cut through the haze of his desire. “You don’t have to go.”
Her words were a balm to his frayed nerves, and yet they only added to the tension coiling in his gut. She wasn’t making this easy on him, wasn’t making it easy to be honorable, to be the man he’d always tried to be.
“I do not wish to cross a line,” he said, hesitating as he forced himself to meet her gaze, his eyes searching hers for any sign that he was misreading the situation.
However, Serafina’s expression was open, inviting, and entirely devoid of the rejection he half-expected to see. Instead, she tilted her head slightly, a glint in her eyes. “Who says there’s a line to cross?” she teased gently, her fingers tracing the edge of his bracer.
Zevlor’s heart pounded in his chest. Every instinct told him to pull away, to retreat before he did something he couldn’t take back. But another part of him, the part that had been longing for something more than duty and battle, urged him to stay.
“Serafina,” he whispered, her name a plea on his lips, his resolve crumbling with each passing second.
She reached up, her hand tenderly cupping his cheek, and the softness of her touch was his undoing. “Stay,” she whispered back, her voice like a siren’s call. “Just for a little while.”
Unable to hold himself back any longer, his restraint shattered, he surged forward like a tidal wave as he brought her into a searing kiss. He found himself gripping her by the shoulders, claws digging into flesh, crushing her against him. Their sharp teeth clicked together in a brief, clumsy collision, but neither seemed to care.
His tail snaked up her leg with a mind of its own, coiling around her thigh in a possessive embrace. Serafina gasped against his lips at the feel of the ridges caressing, teasing, so closely to her throbbing heat.
Zevlor’s hand tangled in her dark hair, pulling her head back slightly to expose the delicate curve of her neck. He broke the kiss, his breath hot against her skin as he trailed his lips down the side of her throat, his sharp teeth grazing her with just enough pressure to send a thrill through her. She felt dizzy from the heat of his mouth against her neck, the way his tail tightened its hold on her leg; it was all too much and not enough at the same time.
“More,” Zevlor growled against her skin, his voice rough with need. The sound of her name on his lips, spoken in such a gravelly tone, made heat pool low in her belly.
Her hands slid down to the exposed skin at the base of his neck. Wrapping her fingers around the silky hair, her fingers tugged at the ribbon, freeing his hair so that it cascaded around his face in wild, sandy strands.
Her own tail flicked restlessly behind her as his lips found her collarbone, his sharp teeth scraping lightly against her skin. She gasped, her hands clutching at his shoulders, her body arching into him.
“Hells,” she panted, her voice trembling. She wanted more, needed more, and from the way his hands gripped her, she knew he felt the same.
Without another word, he lifted her effortlessly, one hand gripping her waist while the other slipped beneath her, supporting her as he carried her toward the bed. His tail remained coiled around her leg, keeping her close.
As he laid her down, his armor clinking softly with the movement, Serafina’s breath quickened, her heart pounding in anticipation. He leaned over her, his face inches from hers, and for a moment, he paused, as if giving her one last chance to turn back, to stop what they had begun. But the look in her eyes, the way she reached up to pull him down to her, left no room for doubt.
And then he was kissing her again, his lips pressing down on hers with renewed fervor, more fiercely than before.
With a single, swift motion, his sharp claws raked through the cloth of her nightgown, shredding it down the middle. The sound of ripping fabric filled the room, the soft material falling away in tattered strips, leaving her exposed to his heated gaze. His eyes roved over her as he took in every curve.
“Zevlor!” she gasped as she glanced down at the ruined nightgown, the pieces of her garment now hanging loosely from her shoulders.
The cool air of the room brushed against her skin, making her shiver. “That was my favorite!” she protested.
Any further complaints were cut off by a soft, involuntary moan as Zevlor’s lips found her throat once more, his mouth trailing hot kisses down the line of her neck. He didn’t stop there, his lips continuing their descent, each kiss igniting a new spark of pleasure as he made his way lower.
When his mouth finally reached her breasts, Serafina couldn’t hold back the moan that escaped her lips. His tongue and teeth teasing her sensitive flesh. He took his time, his sharp teeth grazing her skin just enough to elicit another gasp from her. The mixture of roughness and tenderness was heady, and she found herself lost in his touch, her hands tangling in his hair as she held him close.
He reveled in the way she responded to him, her gasps and moans spurring him on. His mouth continued its journey, worshiping every inch of her with a hunger that bordered on desperation.
“Please,” Serafina breathed, her voice quivering with need.
He groaned softly against her skin. His hands slid down her sides as he continued to kiss and nip at her, exploring every inch of her exposed flesh. Each new touch sent her spiraling further into a haze of pleasure, and she could feel her body responding to him, arching into his touch, craving more.
Serafina’s breath came in ragged gasps as his mouth moved lower still, trailing kisses down her stomach, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. The anticipation, the tension, was almost too much to bear, and she found herself trembling beneath him, her body aching for his touch, for whatever he was willing to give.
“Please,” Serafina begged again, her voice a trembling whisper barely audible over the thunderous beat of her own heart.
Zevlor froze for a heartbeat, his flaming eyes met hers. There was something primal in his stare, a hunger so deep and consuming that it was almost frightening. He looked like a man starved, a man who had been denied for too long and was now on the brink of losing control.
His eyes roamed lower, tracing the path of his earlier attentions, and he found himself captivated by the bruises that now marked her. A dark, almost predatory satisfaction curled in his chest.
The urge to claim her warred with the part of him that wanted to savor every moment, every touch, every gasp that escaped her lips. He leaned in closer, his hand moving to gently trace the marks he had left on her neck, a light touch that belied the ferocity that had put them there.
He let his hand slide down her neck, his thumb brushing against the hollow of her throat where he could feel her pulse fluttering rapidly beneath his touch. The steady rhythm of her heartbeat against his fingertips was exhilarating, grounding him in the reality of the moment. She was here, with him, and for once, he allowed himself to be selfish.
He lowered himself, his lips following the path his fingers had traced, pressing slow, deliberate kisses against each bruise as if to apologize for the roughness. But the delight in her soft sighs told him she didn’t mind.
“You’re beautiful,” he murmured, as his hand continued its journey down her body, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. “So beautiful
”
He needed her to understand, needed her to see that this wasn’t just a fleeting moment of passion for him. It was something more, something deeper, something he hadn’t dared to hope for after Avernus.
She reached up, her fingers threading through his hair, pulling him closer until their foreheads touched. “I’m not going anywhere,” Serafina whispered, her words a promise.
A mischievous glint flickered in Zevlor’s eyes, as he leaned closer, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, “Do you trust me?”
“Yes,” she answered without hesitation, though her curiosity piqued, wondering what he had planned.
Without another word, Zevlor reached for the tattered remains of her nightgown. He tore off a strip of the fabric, its softness and delicacy contrasting with his rugged hands. With surprising gentleness, he wound the strip around her wrists, tying them together in a secure but careful knot.
He raised her bound wrists above her head, his grip unyielding. “You keep them here,” he ordered, his tone clipped and authoritative, every inch the Commander he was.
Serafina’s lips parted in surprise, but a coy smile quickly spread across her face. She bit her lip, heart racing with excitement. “Yes, Commander,” she responded obediently, testing the bonds and realizing just how thoroughly he had secured her.
Zevlor’s eyes gleamed with approval as he leaned down, his voice a low, sensual purr. “Good.”
He straightened, his hand brushing lightly over the silk binding her wrists before trailing down her body. His touch was slow, deliberate, never ceasing its tortuous path across her thighs. His fingers traced slow, deliberate patterns over her skin, teasing her, stoking the fire that burned within her. He was everywhere—everywhere but where she needed him most, and the ache of longing was almost unbearable.
As he positioned himself between her legs, the intensity of the moment seemed to heighten. Her heart raced, anticipation building in every part of her body as she felt the heat of his breath against her most sensitive skin. He didn't hesitate, burying himself between her thighs with a hunger that made her gasp. His nose brushed against her clit, sending shockwaves of pleasure through her, while his mouth explored her depths with an almost reverent passion.
A deep, rumbling moan escaped from him, vibrating through her body. He was lost in her, his moans and hums filling the air, as if he was savoring every second of it. The pleasure was mutual, shared, his desire for her palpable in every movement. His sharp claws dug into her thighs just enough to keep her grounded, holding her open for him, ensuring she had no choice but to submit.
His tongue moved with purpose, circling, teasing, then plunging deeper, a rhythm that had her breath coming in ragged gasps. She couldn’t stop her hips from bucking against his face, chasing the ecstasy he was so expertly delivering.
Zevlor's claws brushed against the soft flesh of her inner thighs as they trembled beneath his hands. He could feel every muscle twitching, every response her body gave to him, and it only fueled his desire. He loved the way she reacted to him, the way her legs trembled with each movement of his mouth, but more than that, he loved the way she opened up for him—completely vulnerable, completely his.
But as much as he relished being caged between her thighs, his head trapped by her pleasure, there was a part of him that craved more—he wanted her entirely open, exposed, so he could see her, touch her, feel every part of her surrender. He pulled back for a moment, his lips glistening, his breath ragged, and looked upon her with a dark ferocity.
His hands slid up her thighs, parting them even wider, ensuring she was completely open to him. He lowered his head again, his tongue flicking against her clit with a precision that had her crying out, her back arching off the bed as the pleasure swirled inside her.
Serafina’s hands, still bound by the strip of her nightgown, clenched above her head as she moaned his name, the sound barely coherent as he pushed her closer and closer to the edge. Every nerve in her body was on fire, and she could feel herself unraveling beneath his touch, her entire being consumed by the pleasure he was giving her.
Zevlor intensified his efforts, his mouth working her with a ruthless, unrelenting pace. He was completely lost in her, in the taste of her, in the way her body responded to him so perfectly, and he wasn’t going to stop until he had her completely undone beneath him.
"Zevlor..." she whimpered, her voice a broken plea as she felt herself nearing the precipice, her body trembling with the intensity of it.
When she cried out his name, her body shuddering with pleasure, Zevlor held her steady, his grip never wavering as he continued to devour her, drawing out every last bit of her pleasure until she was left breathless and spent beneath him, completely at his mercy.
Zevlor barely gave her a moment’s rest before continuing his relentless assault, his tongue lapping at her, driving her sensitivity to unbearable heights. She twitched beneath him, her hands instinctively moved to push him away, seeking a reprieve from the overwhelming sensations. But before she could stop him, his hand was already there, catching her wrists easily in his strong grip.
"What did I say?" he scolded.
His large hand engulfed her wrists, effortlessly pinning them back above her head.
"Too much," she managed to say between shallow breaths, her body trembling.
Zevlor’s expression softened for a brief moment, his thumb gently stroking her wrists where his hand held them captive. "Do you wish to stop?" he asked.
“No!” Serafina exclaimed, her voice breaking with urgency.
Zevlor’s lips curled into a knowing smile, as he moved back between her legs. "Good," he murmured, kissing her inner thigh. "Then you will take what I give you."
Without another word, his mouth was on her again, lapping at her with renewed intensity, pushing her back into the devastating tide of pleasure. Her gasp echoed through the room, sharp and desperate, as her body arched involuntarily, her back lifting from the sheets in response to the sudden onslaught.
Her nerves ablaze, each flick of his tongue building a pleasure that teetered on the edge of pain. Her fingers twisted in the sheets, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she tried to catch it, but Zevlor didn’t relent. His grip on her thighs tightened, holding her open and vulnerable, while her body trembled beneath him, caught in the relentless rhythm of his devotion.
“Zev—” she breathed, voice cracking, but the words dissolved into a moan as the pleasure surged again, flooding through her, pushing her higher and higher.
Once he was finally satisfied, he pulled back, lips wet and glistening. With a last, heated glance, he stood, moving away to remove his armor. The metallic clinks of his gear hitting the floor filled the room.
Serafina, her body still recovering, propped herself up on her elbows, her chest rising and falling as she tried to steady her breathing. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the sight, the way his muscles tensed as he freed himself from the confines of his armor.
He crawled up onto the bed, his large frame moving with surprising grace as his hands gripped her hips. Slowly, he positioned himself between her legs, his breath hitching as he felt the heat of her body envelop him. With a low growl, he began to push forward, his throbbing member slipping into her warmth. The sensation overwhelmed him, and he had to stop or it would have been over far too soon.
His forehead rested briefly against hers, the weight of his desire battling with his need for control. Breathing through his nose, every muscle in his body taut. His hand trembled slightly as he lifted it to her tied wrists, holding them down firmly against the bed. The other hand found its way to her hair, fingers tangling in the silky strands, pulling her closer to him.
Serafina’s whimpers turned into moans when he resumed, his pace was erratic and urgent, as he fucked her into the bed. His thoughts were wild, scattered—he was lost in her, in the way she felt, the way her body welcomed him so completely. The erratic thrusts became more fervent, his ridges dragging along her inner walls, rubbing against that spot which had her gasping, tightening around him with every stroke.
She didn’t seem to mind his lack of rhythm. In fact, every time his body surged against hers, her cries grew louder, her body responding to his every move with an unrestrained fervor. She could feel every bump and ridge as she writhed beneath him, her back arching, her nails digging into the sheets, her face a perfect mask of ecstasy. Her moans echoed in the small room, each sound spurring him on, driving him closer to the edge.
He couldn’t tear his eyes away from her—her flushed skin, her parted lips, her bound wrists above her head as she surrendered herself fully to him. Every part of her was his in this moment, and it ignited something fierce and possessive within him. He had to have her, all of her. The thought consumed him, twisted inside him like a fire that wouldn’t be extinguished.
The idea of her with someone else, of another man touching her like this, drove him to madness. He couldn’t let that happen. He wouldn’t. She was his—she had to be.
Zevlor felt her climax wash over him, her body convulsing around him. It pushed him past the point of control. With a final, deep growl, he let go, spilling into her. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his breath hot and heavy against her skin, as he rode out his release, unwilling to let her go even for a second.
With a soft sigh, he slipped out. His sharp claws made quick work of the makeshift bindings, the delicate fabric tearing away easily. Once she was unbound, he gathered her into his arms, pulling her close.
She snuggled against him, resting her head on his chest. He inhaled deeply, savoring the lavender scent that clung to her skin, now mingled with the heat of their lovemaking. He closed his eyes, committing it to memory, wishing he could hold onto it forever.
"You owe me silk," Serafina grumbled sleepily, her eyes already fluttering closed as exhaustion pulled her toward sleep.
Zevlor smiled down at her, brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead. "I owe you so much more than that," he murmured in response. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her sweaty forehead, his lips lingering for a moment as if to seal the promise behind his words.
Carefully, he reached for the nearby blanket and wrapped it around their entwined bodies, holding her close. The weight of his past, his burdens, all felt lighter now in her presence. She was his light, his solace. As her breathing slowed and her body relaxed into his, Zevlor found himself holding onto her just a little tighter, silently vowing never to let her go.

The butterflies in your stomach fluttered wildly as you stood outside Breanna’s apartment. You had been dating for a few months now, and things were going great. Breanna had finally decided it was time for you to meet Ruby. You knew how important this moment was for both of you, and you wanted everything to be perfect.
Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door. Within seconds, it swung open to reveal Breanna, her warm smile immediately putting you at ease. "Hey, baby, come in” she said, stepping aside to let you enter.
As you walked inside, you took in the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of her home. Toys were scattered around the living room, evidence of Ruby's presence. Your heart raced with anticipation, knowing you were about to meet the most important person in Breanna’s life.
Breanna led you to the living room where Ruby was playing with a set of colorful blocks. The little girl looked up as you entered, her big blue eyes curious and bright.
"Ruby, this is Julia," Breanna said gently, crouching down to her daughter's level. "Remember I told you about my friend?"
Ruby nodded, her gaze fixed on you. You knelt down to her level, trying to make yourself seem as approachable as possible. "Hi, Ruby," you said softly. "It's so nice to meet you."
To your surprise, Ruby broke into a wide grin and immediately toddled over to you, her tiny arms reaching out. "Hi!" she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement. "Do you want to play with me?"
Breanna chuckled, clearly delighted by her daughter's reaction. "Looks like you’ve made a new friend already."
You laughed, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. "I’d love to play with you, Ruby."
For the next hour, you and Ruby built block towers, played with her favorite dolls, and read her beloved picture books. She was an absolute joy to be around, her laughter filling the room and making your heart swell with happiness. You could see so much of Breanna in her – the same bright eyes, the same infectious smile.
Breanna watched the two of you with a look of contentment, occasionally joining in on the fun. It felt natural, like you had always been a part of their little family.
As the afternoon went on, Ruby grew more and more attached to you, insisting that you be the one to help her with everything. "Julia, come here! Julia, look at this!" she kept calling, her face lighting up every time you responded.
Eventually, it was time for Ruby’s nap. Breanna scooped her up, the little girl yawning and snuggling into her mother's shoulder. "Say goodnight to Julia," Breanna said softly.
Ruby reached out her tiny hand to you, her eyes drooping but still filled with affection. "Goodnight, Julia," she mumbled. "Come back soon, please"
Your heart melted at her words. "I will Ruby, don’t worry. Goodnight, I’ll see you soon”
Breanna carried Ruby to her room, and you sat back on the couch, feeling a mix of emotions. When Breanna returned, she sat beside you, taking your hand in hers. "Thank you," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "For being so amazing with her."
You smiled, squeezing her hand gently. "She’s an amazing kid, Bre. And I’m so happy I got to meet her."
Breanna leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. "That’s good Jules, it feels right.. you know with us all together"
You looked into her eyes, "It feels right to me too. I’m ready for whatever comes next, with both of you."
Breanna smiled, her eyes shining with emotion. "Then let’s take this journey together."

The drive to BarÄ±ĆŸâ€™s hometown had been filled with his stories about growing up, the mischief he got into as a kid, and the pride he felt for his roots.
I could see the excitement in his eyes as we pulled up to his parents' house, a charming old home nestled among blooming gardens. This was where it all began for him, and now, he was sharing it with me.
As soon as we stepped through the door, the warm, inviting smell of home-cooked food hit me, and I knew we were in for a treat.
His mother, a kind woman with a smile that could light up a room, greeted us with open arms. She pulled me into a tight hug as if she’d known me for years.
“Welcome! We’ve been waiting for you,” she said, her voice full of warmth as she ushered us into the dining room.
The table was already set with a colorful array of dishes, each one more appetizing than the last. There were mezes, salads, soups, grilled meats, and of course, the freshly baked bread that BarÄ±ĆŸ had raved about the entire ride over.
My eyes widened at the sheer amount of food laid out before us.
“This looks amazing,” I said, turning to BarÄ±ĆŸ with a grateful smile. “Your mom is incredible.”
“Wait until you taste everything,” he grinned, pulling out a chair for me. “You’re in for a real treat.”
We sat down, and before I could even reach for a piece of bread, BarÄ±ĆŸ was already piling food onto my plate. “You have to try this,” he said, scooping a generous helping of a rich, creamy dish onto my plate. “And this—this is my favorite. You’ll love it.”
I laughed, trying to keep up with the mountain of food that was quickly accumulating in front of me. “BarÄ±ĆŸ, slow down! I won’t be able to eat all of this.”
“You have to at least try everything,” he insisted, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “How else will you know what you like?”
I took a bite of the first dish he’d given me, a savory blend of eggplant and lamb, and my taste buds practically danced. “Wow, this is incredible,” I said, savoring the flavors.
BarÄ±ĆŸâ€™s face lit up with pride. “I knew you’d like it. Here, try this one next.”
And so it went—he kept filling my plate, urging me to try each dish, his enthusiasm contagious.
I could see how much it meant to him to share this part of his life with me, and I didn’t have the heart to say no, even as I began to feel the familiar fullness creeping in.
“BarÄ±ĆŸ, I don’t think I can eat much more,” I finally admitted, laughing as I patted my stomach. “I’m stuffed.”
But he just smiled and picked up another spoonful of something new. “Just one more bite, I promise. You have to try this dessert. It’s my mom’s specialty.”
His mother, who had been watching us with amusement, chimed in, “It’s true, dear. You must try it. It’s BarÄ±ĆŸâ€™s favorite since he was a little boy.”
I couldn’t say no to both of them, so I accepted the small portion of dessert he offered—a sweet, syrupy pastry that melted in my mouth with the first bite.
“Okay, this might be my favorite now, too,” I admitted, leaning back in my chair, completely satisfied.
BarÄ±ĆŸ looked at me with a soft smile, his eyes full of love. “I’m glad you like it here,” he said quietly, reaching over to take my hand. “It means a lot to me.”
“I love it,” I replied, squeezing his hand. “And I love that you’re sharing all of this with me.”
His mother beamed at us from across the table, clearly pleased with how everything had turned out. “You two are so sweet together,” she said warmly. “BarÄ±ĆŸ, you’ve found a good one.”
“I know,” he said, his voice full of sincerity. “I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
After dinner, we sat together, sipping on tea and talking about everything and nothing. BarÄ±ĆŸâ€™s father joined us, sharing stories of BarÄ±ĆŸâ€™s childhood that had us all laughing until our sides hurt.
The love and warmth in this house were palpable, and I felt like I belonged here, right beside BarÄ±ĆŸ, in this place that had shaped him into the man I loved.
As the evening wound down, BarÄ±ĆŸ leaned in close, whispering in my ear, “Thank you for being here with me. I couldn’t imagine sharing this with anyone else.”
“Me neither,” I whispered back, resting my head on his shoulder.

If you don't even win this tournament, then no point in giving you a kiss" . Damon heart stopped at that sentence. Y/n promise him a kiss if he win this??? Afterward, he went back to the tournament feeling full energy and totally annihilated the rival team. After tournament end, with everyone gone wash up and went to party to celebrate the win, only Damon and Y/n in the shower room, hungrily kissing Y/n and make out đŸ«Ł
Unbeknownst to everyone, the reason Damon was not in the mood to play was because Y/n rejected his invite to his tournament to focus on her exam lmao

"What the hell, Damon?!" One of Damon's teammates screamed at him, exasperated by this usually amazing jock turn into this... Dunce.
"Come on, Damon. What's happening with ya?" One teammate also whispered, patting him on his shoulder. "We need your head in the game here, man. You're our MVP, please, don't be like this."
Damon only frowned, annoyed and sluggish. He really wants to lash out, but he knows he can't due to being this nice guy, so he gave a sheepish smile.
"Sorry..." He whispered, trying to get into the zone, but nothing.
The coach noticed this and frowned.
"What's happening to the guy?" The coach asked the member who got benched earlier.
"Dunno. He seems distracted coach." The guy muttered, looking around the bleachers. "Huh... Maybe the reason is that y/n is not here?"
The coach looked at the usual spot you would sit on. And he's right, you weren't there at all.
"... Are you thinking what i'm thinking?" The coach whispered, and the other members nodded.
"You, you watch the game. I gotta go fetch someone." The coach pointed at his assistant before running towards the library, hoping you're there.
He bursted open, earning quite a handful of jumps and yelps, and earning the ire of the librarian and staff.
"The basketball coach? What are you--" The librarian was about to nag when he waved him off.
"No time, I gotta find a student."
Then, he found you, just reading a book that you were too busy with to notice him.
"You, come with me." He said, getting up to your face and frightening you to nodding.
You got dragged to the court and paused when you saw the scores.
"What the hell..?" You whispered under your breath, before narrowing your eyes when you saw Damon looking so off his game.
Pursing your lips, you got to your usual seat and leaned on the railing.
"Oi! You damn dingus!" You yelled, making the whole stadium look at you. The referee was about to charge but the coach made him stop. "What's with this pathetic display? What happened to your skills? Gone? Fine! If you don't do good... No kisses!"
The whole stadium bursts in awe, squeals and blushes of bashfulness.
But Damon was the only one you're looking at, and you watched his face go from bewildered to horror.
"No! I want my kisses!" He yelled, suddenly getting energized and making a mad dash towards the hoop and dunking, earning a three points.
The stadium cheered, making you calm down as his a-game rose.
"Finally..." You grumbled, annoyed but felt good that he got energized when you got here.
Sure, you were also the reason why he's distracted. You did say you won't be attending the game since you're busy with studying...
But come on, he's been thriving before you...
You watched him suddenly getting shot after shot, and hiding from the University journalists trying to cop a pic from you.
After the whole thing, Damon completely annihilated the whole rival team. Looking scary as steam emitted from his body due to his body temperature and the stadium temperature difference.
You sighed in relief before finally going down and back to the library.
Surely, he would go celebrate his victory with his teammate right?
You walked moderately, and when you passed by their locker room, you suddenly got pulled in.
The door locked.
"So, where's my reward?" Damon, freshly showered, caged you between his arms before capturing your lips in a hungry kiss.
Yeah, he's hungry. But not for food, that's for sure.

You huffed as you pushed out past the crowd of drunken people gathered by the door of the bar. You were exhausted and ready to get home as soon as you could. Your car was at the shop so you didn't have a ride of your own, but Bucky assured you he would be there to get you right at midnight.. It was now half past twelve and he had yet to show up.
But you couldn't wait inside anymore, the air was stifling and you were overheated as the bar was nearing full capacity.
Though you were annoyed, a part of you was also starting to get worried. He hadn't called or texted to let you know he was running late, so where the hell else could he be.
Walking out into the cold of the midwinter night, you were only greeted by more bodies crowding the streets. You rolled your eyes as someone bumped into you, not a care in the world in their drunken state. You walked down a bit to get away from the groups taking up space in front of the entrance and pulled out your phone to call Bucky and see what was up.
As you held your phone and picked your head up to look around you, you felt eyes on you. A man with a buzzcut and dark blue eyes was leering at you from maybe 10 feet away. He was tall and though you couldn't be sure with the way his clothes concealed his physique, he seemed to be a bit burly. You didn't like the way he was looking at you and walked further down, pushing aside the wave of anxiety that was beginning to rise. As your eyes darted down the other side of the street, they landed on the familiar sleek black SUV parked down the way and then found Bucky as he stood next to it, a scowl on his face while he was listening to someone on the other end of his phone. When you saw him, you immediately let out a sigh of relief. But when you saw him open his mouth to respond to whoever it was he was talking to, you realized why he hadn't called or texted. He was clearly in an argument over the phone and you wondered how long he had been there.
You briefly considered giving him another minute or so, but you were so tired and the weight of that guy's stare was still on you as you stood under the last light on the street. You looked back quickly and when you met the man's eye, you decided you didn't want to wait and started walking down the darkened street to get to Bucky.
"Hey," the stranger called from behind you. You almost stopped in your step but kept yourself walking and acted like you didn't hear him.
Your heart rate picked up when you realized the guy was now following behind you. He wasn't necessarily close, but close enough to make you uncomfortable.
"Hey, where you goin'?"
He was closer now as you silently cursed the rows of cars lining the streets that had forced Bucky to park so far down.
"Home," you answered shortly without looking back at the man. The very slight slur of his words let you know he was probably drunk.
"Home?" he questioned. You weren't too far from Bucky now, but he still hadn't seen you as he was snarking at whoever was on the phone. "You need a ride, baby?"
You swallowed the response that was sitting at the tip of your tongue and kept moving. You were coming up on Bucky, all you had to do was walk just a little further and then cross the street. Right when you were about to step off the curb and sidle between the small space between the parked cars lining the sidewalk to cross the street, the man behind you grabbed your arm roughly.
You instinctively pushed his hand off of you as you turned to him incredulously. His large hand then landed on your ass as he groped you. "What the fuck are you doing?! Don't touch me!" you seethed as you tried to shove him away from you. His voice was deep and rough as he spoke, leaning closer to you and attempting to grab at you again.
"Stay away from me," you seethed as you backed up into the street.
"You need a ride, I'll give you the ride of your life, babe."
"What the fuck did you just say to her?" Bucky snarled as he was suddenly behind you, startling you as he pulled you away from the man and stepped in front of you. You could literally feel the rage rolling off of him as his eyes burned into the drunken stranger, his jaw set and nostrils flaring.
"Hey, man, I was just offering her a ride," the man slurred, his hands raised up in the air in faux innocence. You grabbed Bucky's hand and tried to pull him away but he didn't budge.
"Let's just go, come on," you tugged at him but instead of listening to you, he handed you the keys instead.
"Get in the car,"
"Bucky,"
"Did he touch you?" he spoke through grit teeth, his eyes never leaving the man.
"...Buck-"
"Did he touch you," he reiterated sharply.
"Yes," you breathed quietly as you could. You saw him pull his arm back and grabbed onto it tightly to stop him before he swung at the guy, "Bucky! I'm fine. He's drunk, he's being stupid. Let's just go."
You could feel the tension running through him as he stared down the man. If looks could kill...
It took a second but he finally let his arm lax just the slightest as you pulled him back.
"You're gettin' real fuckin' lucky tonight, you piece of shit."
Bucky finally turned around to face the same direction as you as you walked toward the car. You were relieved you wouldn't be witness to whatever Bucky was about to do as you unlocked the door with the key fob as you got closer. Thankful you were able to get Bucky to walk away, especially when he was already fuming, you let out a breath of relief for the second time that night. All you wanted to do was get home and relax with him until you feel asleep, all too eager to push past the encounter and pretend it didn't happen. You could already see yourself melting into his embrace and the stress you were just feeling was easing at the thought. Bucky was here and you were safe and that's all you wanted to focus on. You were already deciding your questions about who he was talking to and your complaints about having to wait around the overly crowded bar for half an hour would wait until tomorrow.
But as you approached the car, walking around to get in the passenger's seat, the sound of the man's voice from across the street had you stopping in your tracks, eyes squeezing shut as you exhaled heavily, not needing to look behind you to know Bucky was already walking back over the second the man opened his mouth. There was literally nothing you could do. He'd brought Bucky's wrath upon himself.
"If you're so worried about the slut you shouldn't be letting her walk the streets like that anyway. We can all see that ass and those tits on full display, she's just asking for attention. Bitch is begging to be touched."
Bucky didn't say a word as he walked straight to him, each word leaving the guy's mouth only adding to Bucky's ire. All he could see was red. It had taken nearly everything in him to walk away when you were holding onto him but he wasn't going to be able to stop himself now.
The stranger watched as Bucky approached him and didn't seem the slightest bit worried. Either he was too drunk to realize what was about to happen, or just stupidly confident Bucky wasn't actually going to do anything. You pitied the guy just a bit as you shook your head. The second he was close enough, Bucky swung his fist directly at the guy's face.
The man fell back instantly as Bucky stayed on him. He was dazed, but Bucky slapped his face harshly and forced him to meet his eye.
"Look at me," he growled, "you say one more goddamn thing about her, you so much as look in her direction ever fucking again, I will fucking kill you, do you understand me?"
Bucky shook the man as he blinked up at him in apparent shock.
"I said do you fucking understand me?" he bellowed.
The man nodded his head weakly as Bucky let go of his face, his head hitting the cement as he groaned. You thought that'd be the end of it, but instead, Bucky delivered another punch to the man's face as you cringed away, not wanting to see it. You pulled the door open and got inside the car, keeping an eye on Bucky from the tinted windows to make sure he was going to walk away. He stood up, his chest heaving as he breathed heavily, the aggression and anger still pouring off of him as he crossed back over to the car, leaving the man dazed and bloody on the ground.
Instead of getting into the driver's seat, he walked to your door and opened it, his eyes scanning you up and down quickly as his hand found your face. He searched your eyes before speaking.
"Are you okay?"
You placed your hand over his as you pulled it away from your cheek. "Are you?" you asked as you lightly ran your thumb over his split knuckles.
"Answer me," he said sharply. When your eyes narrowed at his tone, he instantly softened as he squeezed your hand. "Are you okay?"
"I told you, I'm fine. More than I can say for that guy,"
"Deserved a hell of a lot worse,"
"Can we go, please," you asked. He was clearly still agitated and you wanted to get him home, or at least just away from the bar, before anything else could happen.
He let go of you and shut your door, walking around the hood of the car before he got in and took off.
"I'm sorry I was late. Got caught up on the phone with Stark, didn't realize how much time had passed. I was gonna go inside and get you."
"You don't have to apologize," you shook your head, "you were still there."
You saw his fingers tighten against the wheel as he drove, his jaw clenched in irritation. You reached your hand over and held it out as you stared at him expectantly. He looked over at you and his gaze softened as he gave you his right hand, continuing to steer with just his left.
Bucky didn't so much as flinch as you gently prodded at his hand. "Does it hurt?" you asked.
"'M fine, sweetheart."
You accepted that and turned his hand over, beginning to lightly trace the lines of his palm with your fingers as you leaned back into the seat, turning your body so you were facing him more. You could feel the tension leaving him as you touched him.
"Thank you," you said softly, looking up from your intertwined hands to him. "For defending my honor," you smirked teasingly.
He huffed a laugh, a crooked smile forming on his lips.
"Always, princess."
"You think the top is too revealing?" you questioned as you looked down at the black v neck long sleeve you wore. It showed a hint of cleavage, but it wasn't crazy - at least you hadn't thought it was.
"You could've been walking down the street without a shirt at all - he shouldn't have put his hands on you - he shouldn't have said a single fucking word to you," he snipped. "But no, it's not."
"Yeah, I didn't think it was," you mused, still playing with his hand in yours. It was as much a comfort to you as it was to him.
----------------------------------------
You finally got home and immediately went upstairs to change into your pajamas. Soon as you were comfy, you wandered back downstairs. You found Bucky in the kitchen and came up behind him, wrapping your arms around him as you pressed your face against his solid back.
"I love you," you murmured against him. He turned around in your embrace and wrapped his arms around you in return, leaning down to place a kiss on your head.
"I love you, too," he said.
"Thank you for being there,"
"You don't have to thank me, doll,"
"I want to," you said pulling your head away from his chest to look up at him. "You're always there, looking out for me. I feel...safe. When you're around. Even tonight, I was obviously freaked by that guy, but I knew you were close and I knew you wouldn't let anything happen to me. So, thank you."
He leaned down and pressed his lips gently to your own, kissing you softly as you squeezed him closer.
"I'll never let anything happen to," he spoke against your lips. "If I'd been paying attention, he'd never have even gotten so close to you."
"Stop," you admonished. "I'm okay...tired. It was a long night I'd rather forget about. I really just wanna lay down with you," you said as you tugged him to walk with you back upstairs.
"Yeah?" he questioned, earning a demure nod from you in return. He smirked as he picked you up effortlessly while you squealed lightly in surprise, arms winding around his neck. You smiled as he held you tightly, breathing him in as you nuzzled into the crook of his neck. "To bed we go, then. I'll help you forget all about tonight, sweetheart.

I Can See You
Falling head over heels for her boss was not something Y/N ever intended.
And yet here she was, leaning in closer, hanging on to his every word as he talked about expense reports and net profits. It wasn't the most thrilling of subjects, but that didn't matter. He could've been reading the grocery list for all she cared.
His voice was pure ambrosia. Food of the Gods. Nectar for her soul. She'd fallen in love at first sound.
"You're bookkeeping skills are second to none. Hiring you is one of the best decisions I've ever made. Keep up the good work!" Fred patted her shoulder, and then he was off to the next thing without a second glance in her direction.
Y/N watched him go, wondering how he couldn't feel it? That electric pulse between them. The one that made her blood pump faster whenever he was near. The one that haunted her night and day, conjuring visions of his body pressed against hers, their lips locked in an all-consuming kiss.
"I can see you," she mummered as he disappeared around the corner. "When will you see me?"
~‱~
The hours dragged on into days and the days into weeks, and just when she thought all hope was lost, something shifted. It was subtle at first. A compliment here, an unexpected smile there.
"Hey Y/N," Fred smiled, his ears tinging pink. "Your hair looks really nice today. Did you change it?"
"Uh, yeah, a little," her hands immediately went to her locks. "I curled it this morning. Nothing major."
"Yeah?" He grinned. "It looks lovely."
"Oh, um... thank you." Y/N feared her heart might beat right out of her chest.
Fred chewed on his bottom lip. Her smile had sent him spiraling. He'd never intended to fall for his employee, and yet here he was, standing before her, wondering how he was only seeing her now. Truly seeing her.
~‱~
Fred watched her now the way she watched him. She saw the quick side-eye glances when people surrounded them and full-on stares when they were alone.
That was fine with her. They could keep it quiet. Clandestine. Just the thought sent a ripple of excitement down her spine.
Fred's gaze had locked onto her as she walked back to the office, his footsteps echoing behind her in the hallway. She stood with her hand against the doorframe, waiting.
His breath was hot against her neck. "I've fought my feelings for so long," his voice was low and rough. "I can't fight them any longer."
"Then don't," she turned to face him.
His eyes bore into hers. "Tell me you want this," he mummered.
She smiled and ran her hand along his jawline. "I'm yours for the taking. Always have been."
Fred's lips met hers in a crushing kiss that stole her breath and turned her knees to jello. He tightened his embrace, holding her upright in his arms.
It felt like only seconds before he pulled away. "I dream of nothing but you," he said.
"Good. That makes us even," she grinned and pulled him back to her.

Hongjoong
Magic was not something to be tarried with. It was not a substance one could bend to their will, it was an art and a fickle one at that.
No one understood that better than a person who wasn’t meant to have it in the first place. He hadn’t been tricked into selling his soul, lost himself in some foolish, evil deal, no. Oh, no.
He’d gone and died.
It had felt just like blacking out when he’d been hit, coming to like the collision was barely beyond a concussion. But the world wasn’t the world when Hongjoong awoke.
There was no sun, no plants, only twisted, dead roots, and the people passing by him little more than glowing wraiths, some looking more human than others. His first reaction was to hold his hands before his eyes, exhaling in relief at the sight of their flesh. Except it felt like his ribcage had shrunk; he was unable to get as much air in or out as usual, every fight for air shallowed.
“What’s happening? Where am I?”
“This is the Underworld,” a low voice replied from behind him, sending him shooting up to his feet and turning to face its owner.
A woman perhaps twice his age, one draped in loose black veils falling around the tight shadowy raiment she wore. Her hair like emerald flame wreathing an expression of dark curiosity, like Hongjoong were a bug she hadn’t decided if she was annoyed by.
He was confused, but not afraid. “Well, I want out. There was so much I was in the middle of out there. I can’t lose it all in some accident. I can barely breathe down here!”
The woman chuckled deeply. “Getting sent back is no simple task. We do not idly accept mistakes.”
“Isn’t there something I can do?” Hongjoong urged, stepping forward and gazing into the woman’s blazing green eyes.
“You will never be fully living again. To return is to become a conduit of the Underworld.”
“Will I be a ghost?”
“No, but your humanity will never fully be restored. Death’s connection is inescapable. A part of you will forever be tied to us. Is this what you wish?”
Hongjoong had a career up there. Friends who weren’t ghosts. A hard drive full of projects. A distinct lack of green flame littering the ground. Music. Fashion. Whatever life he could have. Breath in his lungs. The words escaped his shallow chest so quickly he barely realized he’d spoken them. “Yes, it is.”
The deal was sealed willingly and the Underworld faded away, the final sight in Hongjoong’s eyes those points of green burning into his soul.
~
Nothing seemed different when breath rushed fully back into his heaving lungs or when he crawled from the wreckage of his car. His feet still hit solid ground as he walked back to his apartment under the night sky.
And the next day when he was yanked into an alley by two dark figures, his heart sure beat. And when they, speaking of him being the one they were sent for, raised knives, surely it was a one-way ticket out of his second life. Maybe he’d be like a cat, get nine

All of the stress, every endorphin pumped through Hongjoong’s newly-reanimated body, dropped from him like sweat and arced out as green flame.
The cloaked assailants recoiled at the flame, cursed as glowing forms rose from it. Two of them little more than skeletons, one of them much more humanoid. More like the wraiths Hongjoong saw. More like the Emerald Lady herself. He couldn't help recoiling himself, glancing down again at his hands in disbelief. That was of his making?
The duo of skeletons lashed out first, parrying dagger with sword. You sealed the deal, slamming the butt of your polearm down upon the concrete and sending cracks erupting across the charcoal grey. Beneath their staggered feet, a fissure opened up, sending the men plummeting to some unknown doom.
And with that, you turned to Hongjoong, head cocked with interest. "You're going to be hunted from now on."
He took a deep breath, balled his hands into fists. "What did she do to me?"
"Why do you think she let you go so easily? You're the next Crane."
Tempting was it to look away from the burning glow of your eyes, so similar to the ones who bore him half-escape. Hongjoong wasn't the sort to give in, though. "What does that mean?"
"You were never meant to come to the Underworld, even witness it. Whatever your memories tell you, that was no ordinary accident you were in."
Seonghwa
When you first saw him, sparks flew. Literally.
You’d been focused on the mission at hand, hovering above what you hoped was the main jet for infiltration when a burst of the most beautiful glittering energy sparked before you, wavering like the Aurora Borealis at the edges as it struck open the adjacent craft. It was enough to shake you from the crosshairs haze of disabling anything, stealing your gaze over to the sweeping flight of a black-haired man in a dashing caped suit of violet and silver.
Stories of such a man had reached your ears. “You’re the one they call Cosmos, aren’t you?” You called, mirroring the smile that rose to his lips.
He nodded. “And you must be Depth Charge.”
“I will have you know that that was not my first choice,” you replied as you sent a pulse echoing through the jet’s steel, “or my choice at all. It barely makes sense. I go up, not down.”
Cosmos chuckled at that. His eyes sparkled like the stars in his little energy burst trick, giving him an air of innocence despite his trim figure, the way he sailed through the sky in that l roguish suit. Maybe this was going to be a fun fight after all.
He swerved narrowly past a barrage of jet-fire. “Maybe we should talk when we’re not, you know, attempting to prevent the theft of confidential technology?”
"You're no fun," you mock-scoffed, smirking and boosting yourself to the next jet with a pulse of energy.
"And you're not the one getting shot at!" He fired back, blasting more crackling, star-studded energy at the next barrage before ducking below the shrapnel.
"Yeah, yeah, just come back me up, I see our guy," you urged him, crawling to the top of the jet and focusing the waves you felt into a bladelike space.
The hole had just been cut open when Cosmos swooped in next to you. He was somehow taller than you'd pictured once you saw him up close, serious expression completely changing his bearing. You studied his profile for a few seconds before sliding in through your entry hole legs first. Boots hitting hard floor with a wince-inducing jolt up your ankles, you readied another sonic blade and crept closer to the cockpit. Some shuffling at your back told you Cosmos followed close behind.
Two goons rose from their seats at the sight of you, landing a couple of punches to both of you and even managing to knock you over before you sent their inertia right back at them, slamming them against the wall as you held your surely-bruised jaw. For all his spark, Cosmos held his own in hand-to-hand combat. Well, relatively speaking. He ended up knocking his opponent out with a surprising roundhouse kick. You smiled again, giving a shake of your head.
"What?"
"Extra," you chuckled.
"I'll take that as a compliment," he replied, extending an arm to the cockpit door, "would you like to do the honors?"
"Thank you, my good man," you humored him, peeling open the door to meet with a faceful of gun barrels.
"I would stay back if I were you," the head thief remarked. Geez, was the guy reading an old movie script?
"I would stand down, actually, unless you'd like to sail through a hole torn in space," Cosmos told him, standing firm.
Your jaw dropped as you turned to face him. "You can do that?"
He gave you an urgent look.
"Sorry."
"You wouldn't risk letting this device go any more than I would," your enemy sneered, tugging his tie into place.
"I wouldn't have to. That's kind of the thing with being able to manipulate gravity. And yes, I can do that."
With that, he raised a hand and the jet flipped upside down. No, wait, you flipped upside down, drifting into the air against your own volition and flailing fecklessly for a few flaps before firing off a balancing pulse. The case drifted loosely in the air, into the hands of one of the gunners, and then right back out as Cosmos summoned it forth. The men opened fire instantly, bullets drifting slowly into air filling with faint whisps of smoke. Both of you banked hard left to dodge the fire, grunting as you hit the wall hard, but Cosmos stood firm again, offering you his hand. Taking it, you felt yourself hurtling through the air, a familiar sensation as speed returned, then the harsh blasts of wind upon leaving the hull.
"Sorry I stole your target," he told you as he drifted and you blasted away, gazes turning from the final jet's descent.
"Stole it?" You snorted, giving him a smile. "I believe that's called helping me. I'm not exactly in this for the brownie button."
"Oh, yeah, what was it again? For fun, right?"
"Something like that," you agreed.
"By the way, if we're going to be working together, we better know each other's names. Real names. My name is Seonghwa." And there were those stars again, lighting up his dark eyes in a manner far too on the nose for his hero name.
Heart fluttering, you gave him your name.
Yunho
Fortunate. That’s how many people described living in a city with a guardian. Hopeful, like if they were to get into trouble, that very man could, in the most literal sense, swoop in and rescue them. It was like magic how he appeared at the scene of wrongdoings- it only added to the feeling that he could see all that occurred through the hustle and bustle of the proverbial concrete jungle.
For Yunho, it was a lot of pressure. Phrases like the man, the myth, the legend hit a little too close to home. What if he were to let someone down? What if one day the mask got yanked off and all everyone saw was a fresh college graduate semi-desperately searching for a job to apply his major to? He didn’t always feel like a hero, just like a man doing his best to help out.
A man with wishes and dreams like any other. Oftentimes that wish was simply for life to be normal again. Like, he had been granted this amazing opportunity and yet it still fell like a burden across his heart sometimes. Especially when he looked at you.
You were his next door neighbor, the occupant of the apartment adjacent to his. Some days you both would be out on your balconies at the same time just staring out at city lights with your favorite drink in hand and you’d glance across the way and smile at each other. Start a little conversation. What do you think those people across the way are doing? Man, you wouldn’t believe this customer at work today. Whatcha got there, the usual?
It dawned on Yunho sometimes in some poetic delusion that you two took and occupied identical spaces, yet they would be wholly unknown to the other. Made reflections of someone still learned. It made him want to clean his apartment, frankly.
It put things into perspective about his powers, too. One time his spidey sense went off and he told you to step back, only for a bird poo to land exactly where your head would have been. As a jest you’d called him your hero, but the jolt that sent through his heart was anything but funny. Fuel, that’s what it was. Motivation to be the man, the myth, the legend, even in the smallest way.
~
The sense rang through his body, slid down his spine, mere seconds before the cry for help. Yunho would have recognized that voice anywhere.
As he launched a web out and swung closer to the sound, his heart pounded. It had never been anyone he knew before. It wasn’t supposed to be someone he knew. But it was you. Sailing between buildings, he stuck to the top of the nearest one, gazing down at the man before you and narrowing his eyes at his wild gestures. Without warning, though, he was grabbing you, pinning you to the wall and reaching a hand-
Thwip! A hand that was pinned to his side before it could even reach a weapon, touch you again. Swinging out from his viewpoint corner, Yunho slammed into the creep with his feet, kicking him off of you. In retaliation, he landed a punch with his good hand.
“What is this,” Yunho lowered his voice lest you recognize it as your neighbor’s, “‘I can take you with one hand tied behind my back’?”
Before the man could reply Yunho tied him down again, not wanting to stoop any closer to his level of brutality.
“I think I’ll have a word with the police on you. Heard they were investigating a bunch of abductions. It’s about time they got some practice in.”
Footsteps rang out as you ran to his side. “Spiderman! Thank you! I had no idea if anyone would hear me, but I should have known!”
“Hear you? I could feel you,” he replied, “well, er, that is, I
I have this, you know, danger sense and I-”
“Hey, it’s ok. I get it,” you said, wrapping your arms around him in a quick side hug, “I know you’re nothing like that guy. Your partner’s lucky to have a guy like you.”
“Well,” Yunho’s voice lowered even more as your eyes peered into his masked ones, as if you could see him, “I don’t actually have one. No one’s really into, uh, yeah.”
“Well, then, can I do this?” With two fingers, you motioned near the edge of his mask, sliding up its corner.
Yunho inhaled, eyes widening beneath their white affects. “Sure.”
Your fingers felt cool when they brushed the edges of his skin, staying true to their word as they peeled up the tiniest section of his mask. Leaning in, you pressed a kiss to his cheek. It took everything in Yunho not to giggle then and there.
“Thank you again,” you breathed as you leaned back.
“No problem,” Yunho replied, “need a walk back home?”
You put a hand on your hip. “Since when does Spiderman walk?”
Chuckling, he shrugged. “Thought offering a swing might scare you.”
You smiled. “I’d be down.”
“Alright, then, hold on tight and name the address.”
Yeosang
It was just another day on the streets of Seoul. The day's bustle had taken its toll on the sidewalk, crowding the strip with bodies and voices. All Yeosang wanted was to get out of there. No sooner had that thought occurred, though, was he reflexively granted that wish: one of the multitudinous passersby careened sideways into him, and in his startlement he’d disappeared entirely.
Cursing internally, he searched for witnesses, sighing with relief at the simple alley he’d unthinkingly sent himself to. Premature relief, for as he turned to leave said alley, there you were standing as if frozen in a bend over a trash can, eyes wide as saucers. He felt his own eyes reflexively widen, resisting every impulse to disappear again and leave you just wondering if you’d gone crazy, never to see him again in a city that large.
A smile spread across your face. “That was awesome! Dude, you just teleported!”
“No, I didn’t,” he deadpanned, taking a few steps toward the alley opening.
“Ok, gaslighter.”
Yeosang stopped dead in his tracks, turned to fix an eye upon you again, sighed. “You understand what a big secret you just witnessed?”
Straightening, you shot him a finger gun. “So you did teleport?”
“Yes, I did. I know how this works,” Yeosang answered, “what will it take for you to keep quiet?”
“Are you a superhero?” You asked, skipping over a scattering of alley trash to move to his side.
“I-” Yeosang sighed. Most days he felt more cursed than heroic. Burdened with secrecy and threats to all who stood for differences, deviations of any kind. But a mutation like his? Inherently greater safety than most challengers to Seoul folk. Dodging the proverbial bullet. He’d managed to teleport a woman who jumped off a building and have a conversation with her. Weeks later. She saw him again, said she considered him her hero. Humbling to say the least. After the long pause, he swallowed. “I try.”
“That’s so cool! What you need is a sidekick.”
“I’m not exactly spiderman,” he replied sheepishly.
Your eyes darted briefly away, then back to his. “Home base?”
“I mean, I live somewhere already, but-”
“No, no,” you cut him off, waving a hand, “I mean like a secret hideout where you can conduct your operations and keep your research with your
administrative assistant.”
“Ok,” Yeosang chuckled, “that’s a pretty clever workaround for ‘sidekick’. But you have to realize people like me aren’t exactly caped crusaders. It’s not an organized thing, I don’t have a danger sense, I just
help where I can.”
At that, you nodded, eager expression finally sobering a bit. “I know. I had a friend whose family attacked him over his powers. He barely made it out of there. I don’t even know where he is now. I guess I just want a better face for you guys. Maybe I just want to make a hero.”
Oh. Yeosang was not expecting that. His eyes widened, softened, blinked. “It’s a nice thought, but maybe let’s start small.” A part of him couldn’t believe he was even implying an agreement, but he’d been alone for so long. Alone wanting to believe someday the world would change.
“Like some cameras? A red-string sort of situation on local crime? Bullet dodge training?”
“I, uh, I think I’ve got the last one covered,” Yeosang replied, putting his hands in his pockets and finally shuffling toward the alley horizon, squinting as he crossed the sun’s threshold.
“You’ve been in a shootout?” You gasped, following him with a hand out over your wide eyes.
“Shh,” he hushed you, glancing back and forth at the thankfully empty street, “I told you! I try to help where I can. Even if it means making myself a target. I’m much harder to hit than the usual robbery victim.”
“This is so cool. What’s your name, by the way?”
“Yeosang.”
You gave him your name, glanced back at him from the peripheries of his vision. “They ever give you a nickname?”
“They usually just say I’m like trying to hit a ghost.”
“Ghost,” you murmured, “that could work.”
“Maybe it could,” Yeosang murmured back, smiling faintly into your wide grin, “maybe.”
San
Most of the other workers thought you were too young. You looked more the age of the test subjects, they said, despite you denying any presence of the mutagens. All you wanted was to understand them, just like anybody else. After all, harnessing the genetic component that allowed adaptation that fast had both amazing and terrifying implications for humanity. Implications not lost on the subjects themselves. It was for that reason that you were assigned to the one dubbed safest for beginners.
He was a young man about your age, a man with well-sculpted features and a contagious smile-on the rare occasion you got to see it. It wasn’t a happy life, after all, in a laboratory quarters, even if they did “simulate comfort”. It was a lie and everyone knew it- those were no apartments. They were cells. It was no way to live, and there you were working there and contributing to it.
Well, sort of. “Ok, I know they say no pins in the walls, but I keep hearing how the guy who likes to give himself bear claws has practically scratched the entire things off his room, so seems a bit hypocritical. I got your old Day6 poster,” you told your subject, holding up a few pushpins in one hand and his poster in the other.
“Aren’t you going to get in trouble?” San asked, grin emphasizing his charming dimples.
“If they fire me, they lose the latest honors geneticist, so I don’t think they want to risk it over a poster.”
“Good point,” he conceded, accepting your gift and crossing the room to pin it on the wall nearest his bed one corner at a time.
His motions were careful, calculated- far less erratic than many of the other subjects’. Subjects. You kept using that word. Dehumanizing. Was that the end goal?
“Alright, what do you think?”
San’s voice cut through your thoughts, directing your attention to the band now displayed upon his wall. One small addition and the room had that much more personality. That much more San.
You smiled. “I like it.”
He nodded toward all the guys in the picture. “Who’s your favorite?”
“I dunno,” you mused, pointing, “that one’s pretty handsome.”
“Young K? Oh, everyone tells me I look like him,” San grins.
“No, they don’t!” You tease. “You would’ve just said that about anyone I called handsome!”
“Maybe,” he shrugged, “gotta have some fun before my daily blood sample, huh?”
Smiling sadly, you just nodded, stepping back to take up your syringe tray from where you’d set it on his bookshelf.
~
Shrill warnings echoed throughout every corner of the alternately dimming and brightening laboratory, lights flashing their own alarm as your feet struck the smooth, institutional stained concrete. There’d been a containment breach, an immediate interruption to your protein synthesis as battle stations rang.
Restrain. That was the order. As if you could do anything against a guy with bear claws or venomous barbs or someone with the agility of a cheetah. That was why your company wanted the source so badly- super soldiers and all that. Always soldiers. Never curing wounds. Never jellyfish immortality. None of the subjects had thought of that one, either, as far as you knew, but then you’d yet to witness anyone using the mutagen’s power.
What could you do? There was a taser in your pocket, a small standard-issue you’d received in case of this very unlikely scenario. Restrain was about the only chance you had, but the thought of running into the breach barely crossed your mind amidst the chaos of scrambling compatriots and banging doors as the mass escape began.
All you could think of was reaching Quarters 314. San’s room. It was insane, it was stupid, it was the absolute irrevocable death of your career there- but then again, so would all the subjects escaping be.
If a bunch of the most powerful mutants you housed were escaping already, you wanted San to have freedom. Every cent you had, you’d bet that he could walk back out onto the streets and never hurt a single soul. That’s why they gave him to you in the first place- he was complacent. Kind.
304. The moment the door entered the haze of your vision, you slammed your key card on the lock sensor pad and tumbled in.
San was hunched near the doorway. “What’s going on, did someone get hurt?”
“They’re escaping. All the strongest ones,” pausing for a heartbeat, you reconsidered your words, thought about how every man and woman in the building had the same skills, “well, all the fighters. Come on.”
His eyes, shining as ever, widened. “Are we evacuating?”
“No,” you shook your head, grabbing his hand, “you’re leaving.”
“I don’t understand.”
“This might be your one chance to get back out there and live. I’ve been coming in here every day for weeks. You don’t deserve to live in a cell. As badly as I wanna know how you work, this isn’t a life for anyone. Do you want out?” You asked, tone firm despite your frantic heart, searching his eyes.
San nodded. “Ok. Thank you. I can get us out.”
You frowned. “Us?”
“If this is all on the cameras you stick everywhere, they won’t be your biggest fans anymore.”
“Good point. Are you going to
” You trailed off, unsure how to broach the subject.
He hummed in response, those soft eyes you’d seen every day hardening like never before and that sharp jaw setting. He squared
braced himself.
“You don’t like doing it, do you?” The question came out of your mouth before it had fully entered your brain, but to your relief he didn’t look annoyed.
“Depends on what it is. You haven’t seen it, have you?”
You shook your head.
“Well, sorry this is your first time,” San said, and with that, his shoulders squared again, his head falling as if struck down.
Subconsciously, you reached out hands at his pained expression, but what could you do? It was all inside him.
At least at first. Soon, the slick fabric of his moisture-wicking regulation top was splitting, bursts of blood spraying as new bone and tissue arose, tendrils that solidified into sharp flesh-toned blades before bursting into feathers. Tears fell from San’s eyes as he shakily rose back to his feet. He’d just grown wings.
And as if all that blood and tissue and the sheer amount of development occurring over mere seconds was little more than a strenuous workout, he wiped his brow with his left hand and extended his right.
“Alright, let’s get out of here.”
Mingi
Sometimes he wondered why he was chosen.
What it was about him that another race from a different planet would think he had what it took to bear and protect one of their greatest treasures? He’d just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or maybe the right place. The demand had been simple- keep it safe until others arrive for it.
The crash had happened when he was home, a sound so deafening it was like the world was ending. Shaking as he was, Mingi had run outside into the rush of the night wind, out along the smoke trail in the woods to see if whatever catastrophe had had survivors, if victims. And survivors there were- ones a bit odd-looking. Almost human save for the violet hue of their skin, the pointed tips of their ears, the vertical slits of eyelids revealed when the woman’s visor fell from across her eyes. Their skin felt different, too, as Mingi pulled them from beneath crushed metal and fire, firm and with smoothness gently interrupted by texture he could only describe as like small scales.
They didn’t look happy with him, but still accepted his help stumbling between trees and back into his home. They understood bandages, accepted beds. Swore Mingi to secrecy even as they thanked him days later. Be it technology or some uncanny occasion, they could speak to him. They could understand.
The mission they’d set out on was one of guardianship; the relic, something of myth, needed new housing and a new bearer.
“The one worthy will be selected,” the man told him in his deep, faintly accented hiss of a voice.
It was an imposition, sure. But how often did aliens land near one’s property guarding a weapon of legend? Mingi’s whole week had felt like a dream, and until he woke up the least he could do was deepen its lucidity.
“Can I see it?” He asked, peering up earnestly into their snakelike eyes from above the intricately carven and paneled box of steel with the most incredible iridescent shine he’d ever seen. Its contents had to be even more beautiful, right?
They watched, glanced down at the way his hands hovered reverently, stared back into his eyes.
“You are not of deceitful mind,” the woman replied.
“It is not out of depth that he welcomed strangers into his home,” the man shot back.
“No, it was out of kindness,” the woman insisted, waving a hand over the box, “as a reward, you may look upon the Heart of Steel.”
Gingerly, she traced some of the lines that Mingi had barely noticed with the tips of her long fingers, reaching beneath the bottom and holding her hands there until the top of the box simply floated a foot or two above the remainder, held by some microcosm gravity that drew a breath of awe from Mingi. Reflexively his fingers stretched toward the contents of the box, a smooth metal teardrop shape crafted from that same resplendent material.
Heat radiated from its small surface the moment he moved closer, sending him drawing back, but like a magnet it shot after him and into his hand.
“I’m sorry,” he said, glancing at both of the beings who still hadn’t offered him names, “I swear I’m not doing this!”
“No,” the woman shook her head, snake-eyes wide, “you are being chosen.”
~
“And you expect me to believe this why?” You asked him, brow arched.
“Because,” Mingi put up his hands in defense, eyes scanning your form, “I didn’t even want to touch it! Why would I steal this thing I know nothing about?”
“Delskvlln was right. Not a deep thinker,” you commented.
“See? I know him! They ended up telling me their names! His wife was
er
Syssmerlyss? I am so sorry if I’m not pronouncing it correctly.”
“Well, the accent needs work, but I suppose Syssmerlyss was right- you have a certain kindness about you.” You took two steps closer to him, half-tapping, half-pushing him on the shoulder twice in a gesture that probably didn’t fully translate. “Come on, then, we have training to do.”
“Well,” he scratched at the back of his neck sheepishly, “sometimes the suit doesn't cooperate, but I think I’m starting to get pretty good with the gravity swords.”
“It gave you the swords?”
“Heh, uh
yeah?”
Wooyoung
It was hard sometimes, using such abilities for good. Had he so chosen, Jung Wooyoung could have become a world leader, a dictator even. But that thought terrified him. The pressure sounded unbearable. No fun, either, not that former friends hadn’t tried to convince him countless times to use his gifts for that, too. He preferred the traditional methods of seduction, were he to desire employing any at all.
Accessing minds was Wooyoung’s least favorite skill, in fact. Seeing and hearing thoughts was crushing, uncomfortable, an unfair dominance. Bouncing twice as high as a person should be able to with a force field, though? Making things levitate out of people’s hands? Bee’s knees.
He'd been a rogue in the city, just a wanderer who did what he could to help others when he wasn’t working. Flinging the gun out of an armed robber’s hand, blocking bullets with force fields, even fighting back when he had to.
They just didn’t learn. He couldn’t help scoffing a bit and teasing them when they fired at him.
“Now, gentleman, isn’t this a bit insulting?” He’d ask, casually flipping a hand as the bullets ricocheted and buried themselves harmlessly into walls. “And besides, I don’t want to hurt you. I just think this doesn’t belong to you.”
Cue him summoning the stolen money or goods right from their indignant hands and, eventually, back to the rightful owner. After convincing them all to stand still with their hands in the air, of course.
There had just begun whispers of his presence, trepidation at the prospect of an illegal smuggle or a robbery for the first time, a name for him emerging when he faced the first true opposition.
“So, you’re the Vigilante everyone’s talking about, are you?”
“Is that what they call me?” Wooyoung shot back.
“Guess you aren’t in it for the fame,” you snickered, stepping further from the shadows of the doorway, a tube-shaped device Wooyoung didn’t recognize in your hand.
“What do you want with me?” He asked, glancing at it and crossing his arms.
“Ideally, you to get out of the way,” you replied, flicking something on the device and sending it unfolding with large cracks, climbing up your forearm like a mechanical caterpillar and glowing at the tip once your hand was completely enveloped.
“Out of the way of wh-” He didn’t have time to complete his sentence before a bolt of energy arced his way, his instincts barely kicking in in time for him to launch away from it.
Putting up a force field, he stood his ground, staring at you with new interest. “You’re part of the weapons racket, aren’t you?”
“A plus, genius,” you replied, smug satisfaction glinting in your eyes, “the city isn’t going to need you much longer.”
“You’re right,” he said, “because I’m about to kick your ass.”
Another bolt of purple energy came at him, shattering the faint glow of his field. Wooyoung’s jaw dropped, but he quickly righted it as he moved closer. It felt like his whole body clenched as his energy focused on peeling the device off. You winced in pain and jumped back as the gun fired an erratic shot that rained chunks of ceiling down behind Wooyoung’s back, sending a little lightning strike of guilt across his heart, but he kept at it, sending each piece yanked off to your side to fortify the restraints he was making. You struggled, panting and tugging as he worked, kicking aside his work and scrambling toward a panel on the wall. With each button you pressed, Wooyoung slid your feet out from under you, but in the end he heard the dreaded activation beep. The look you turned and shot him was a mix of defiance and resignation that shook him to his core and froze him to the spot. He didn’t even stop you as you ran away, just slid the nearest couple pieces of your contraption towards himself, grabbed them, and made his own flight out before the place blew.
Shielding himself from the heat and sound, he knelt and examined the scraps. Luck was on his side, it seemed; he’d gotten the chunk bearing manufacturer and serial number info. For the first time in his life, Wooyoung wasn’t going to just deflect and run- he was going to chase you down.
Jongho
It was cloudy. It was almost always cloudy. Not exactly ideal conditions for your lot, but what were you going to do? Couldn't exactly bottle sunshine, as they said.
Not that they weren't probably trying. Scientists had gone positively psycho in your city, the hottest trend being harnessing the elements. Success rate? You, at least. It wasn't supposed to be you. Maybe not anyone, for that matter, but the spores ended up in your body regardless. You'd heard that they were supposed to be used or they'd take over, but the call to do so was strong regardless.
Trees planted on the sidewalk suddenly bloomed and flourished. Green sprouted in odd hosts within the concrete jungle. Flowers out of sidewalks and the like. Anything to combat what the rest of humanity was doing, right?
That was all it had been until someone saw you. An older man, betrayingly grandfatherly, began a mild conversation that quickly deepened, progressed to him requesting your help in an investigation on the very place that exposed you to their research.
"Why me? I barely spent any time there. I wasn't the test subject, it was an accident!" Never had you realized you were afraid to return until it was asked of you. The infection was hell until it stuck, pain all over your body like you'd never known, violent reactions as your body writhed and tried again and again to reject the foreign invasion.
Then poof, there you were as the city's chlorophyll ninja.
"Because you have been inside. You've visited once, why not again? They'll never suspect a thing, and if they do, you're armed with something much greater than what I got."
"Oh," you raised a brow, "so this is personal?"
"It's beyond that," the main replied quickly, gaze darting from yours, "but yes. I'm getting older. This sort of mission is getting more difficult. But more than anything they would recognize me in a heartbeat, and I didn't exactly quit on good terms."
"I'm not in this fight. I didn't ask for any of this," you repeated, "and now you want me to go in there blind and alone? Maybe I don't want to be your recon pawn."
The old man waved a hand, the one that wasn't gloved. "You wouldn't be alone, poor dear. You think you're the only escaped lab rat? I used to think I was." Grabbing the hem of his pant leg, he pulled it up to reveal a very elaborate cybernetic prosthesis. "Both are different. But no, I've kept tabs on the place for a long time. Found another much like you."
With that, he motioned to the doorway with his free hand. Guess you could figure out why the other was covered. As your gaze traced the man's one organic limb, your eyes fell to the doorway, where a young man about your age stepped out.
His appearance was pretty innocuous. His hair was short and dark, his expression stony but his features kind. His broad shoulders were draped with a long coat that swayed near the base of his boots, and beneath that he wore a dark turtleneck and jeans.
"How do you do, Neo?" You quipped as your eyes scanned his form.
To your great surprise, that 'mission go' look on his face melted rapidly into a wide grin, a chuckle. Guy had a nice smile.
"It's Jongho. That was good, though." He nodded down toward you. "Was the green intentional?"
You yourself glanced down at your outfit, and you'd be darned. You were wearing green. Apparently this Jongho fellow knew more about you than you did of him. You were surprised he didn't comment on the potted plant necklace you'd gotten from Etsy- the one you'd nicknamed 'ammo'.
"No, but I guess fate has a sense of humor. Do you have beef with FTR Labs too?"
Jongho nodded. "They have my brother."
At that, your heart dropped. Just by the man's tone of voice you could tell he was trying to be brave, but he didn't want to go back to FTR any more than you did. Want, no. Need? Yes. Maybe the old man was right- maybe they were taking their experiments too far. You hadn't even seen what they'd done to Jongho yet. If it had been a fight for his body, too, let alone his brother's.
"Alright," you nodded, shoving your hands in your pockets, "I'll go with you. Do you have a plan?"
"Of course. My main goal is to disrupt their comms first."
"Classic. How do you propose we do that?"
"I figured a little lightning would do the trick."
"Excuse me?"
Wordlessly, Jongho stared at you, his eyes almost glazing over as gusts of wind rolled through the room and clouds drifted over his head, spattering his black-clad shoulders with tiny droplets of rain. Electricity arced between two of the clouds, light flashing like tiny, branched white roots as it traveled down his cheek, through his arm and into his hand as if illuminating his very veins. Harnessing the elements.
Nothing could have stopped your jaw from dropping, but as you righted yourself, you couldn't help smiling with a strange rush of anticipation. "Hey, if you're the one that's been keeping it so cloudy these days, can you at least rain a little on my friends?" And with that, you let ammo grow out, engulfing your upper body with the comforting hug of leafy vines.
"Kids," the old man shook his head, "always showing off."

Part 1 ✹ Part 2 ✹ Part 3 ✹ Part 4 ✹ Part 5
Tumblr media
The next morning was beautiful and pure, you woke up next to the man you loved instead of waking up full of dread to the so called person you were supposed to be marrying. But this was only a temporary fix, you weren't going to be with Joe every night until you'd ended things just as you promised.
The sun seeped through the peak of the curtains, you were wrapped up so securely by the sheets, no clothing, just Joe's arm tightly wrapped around your stomach as a guard.
"Good morning princess." He kissed just by the bottom of your ear, snuggling his face downward into the crook of neck, the butterflies that roamed your stomach were intense and it only got worse by the erection pressed against your side.
"Good morning to you." You tilted your head to try and get Joe into eye view, his sleepy features looked truly amazing from where you were laid.
"I need to get going soon, he'll wonder where I am." You felt Joe's lips press into a thin line, the thought of getting so close to where you so badly needed to be was a penultimate dread of leaving.
"Stay a little longer. Let me show you how much I adore you one last time." Joe whispered, already throwing himself down under the covers, almost as if he was in a rush.
"How can it be one last time when I'm yours forever?" You could almost feel the love radiating from underneath the quilt, his hands came across your thighs like you had a choice in leaving, you didn't. Spreading your legs apart, Joe slid his tongue straight down your slit.
"My forever tastes so good." You'd be lying if that didn't make your clit throb, your lips now spread wide, Joe had tucked in to his breakfast immediately, flickering his tongue over your aching bud, lifting himself slightly he spat on his fingers, edging them towards your entrance. You threw the covers back to be able to get a better look at what he was up to, your eyes almost rolled into the back of your head when two of his thick fingers shoved themselves inside of you, pushing slowly back out and back in, teasing around your hole and then hitting the spongy parts of the inside of your cunt.
"Joe oh my-" You arched your back in the immense pleasure you were undertaking, so much feeling, so much joy and so much love spread across Joe's rampant motion in eating you out the way he did it was almost like entering heaven in the most alluring of ways; nobody had ever taken care of you in the way that he was right now and it seriously showed by the way your heart was racing, not just from the heated moment but from the meaning of it all.
The more you whimpered, the more he'd intensify the way his muscle worked and you could feel that inevitable release ever growing inside your stomach. His fingers worked their magic in gaining that beautiful feeling also, circling around your cunt perfectly and professionally to the point where you had created a rhythm in you moving your hips in time and the more you were so close to screaming to his name and the whole of London practically hearing how good he made you feel.
It didn't take much longer for you to feel the full extent of the orgasm coursing through your body, your hands gripped down on his messy bed curls as you practically suffocated Joe, using him to ride out the wonderful sensation. Joe joined you back face to face not long after you finishing, the most beautiful of kisses erupted between the two of you, your hands wandering all around, feeling each other's skin, caressing each of your bodies like it was something precious.
"You like it when I take care of you like that baby?" Baby. It was the first time he'd called you that, the full definition of love had never been more true until he had uttered that cute little nickname at you, there was something so personal and endearing about it.
"Always." You took him by surprise when you spat against your hand and took it upon yourself to grab a hold of his length, slowly tugging his foreskin back, making him gasp for air.
"Yes, oh fuck just like that." Your saliva helped to set the pace, gliding your hand a little quicker, pre-cum had easily already made it's appearance from when he'd been having his own fun.
"Faster, princess, faster." You began fucking his cock with your fist, rotating your wrist in circular motion to hit all the nerves and sensitive spots along it. Hearing the sweet melodies of Joe's moans erupt from his throat showed you not just what heaven looked like, but what it sounded like also. You'd got him that excited that he didn't last long, his seed filling your hand, seeping in between where you had a hold of, his hand had slithered around the back of your neck, bringing you closer into a more desperate kiss which had all of your senses tingling all over.
"I hate to leave you, but I really have to go." You pushed the reality of the situation a little harder, really not wanting to end the fairy tale scene the two of you had created with a night.
"I understand. I'll miss you princess." The butterflies slowly corroding and the heartbreak setting in of the shit you were to now endure through the pain and pure unsettledness of having to break off the wedding and disappoint your parents in the same breath.
"I'll miss you too." Giving him one last kiss, you went to the bathroom to clean up, put on your clothes from the night before and headed downstairs to leave, but before you did, Joe had caught up behind you in a rush, gripping your arm and pulling you back, you fell slightly but landed in the safety of his front with his arms now tightly wrapped around you.
"I love you, I never knew quite how much until now." He said quietly.
You turned around to face him, the sparkle in his brown eyes seeping through your soul.
"I love you too, Joey." You uttered, reaching to your tip toes to seal a final kiss before you left, walking through the streets of London like a dirty little stop out, reaching your hand out to the nearest taxi rank to get you home quicker.
When you finally arrive home, shutting the door as quiet as a mouse, you remove your shoes and pitter patter through the hallway, hearing rustling coming from the living room, taking a sharp breath, you unexpectedly arrive to a person you were not in the slightest contemplating to be sat on your sofa.
"Um, hi?" you furrow your brow.
"Where have you been?"
"I stayed at my friends and I-"
"Don't play dumb with me, you've been with Joe haven't you? Your friend told me that you were going to find him after you looked violently upset, never mind stupidly drunk, anything could've happened to you, what were you thinking going off like that?"
The sharpened tone had you internally shaking, your friend had slipped up, the only thing left was to white lie and hopefully not forced into telling the truth.
"I went to make up with him, I missed my best friend, we saw each other at the club, had a little argument and I went-"
"And spent the night with him?"
"If you want to put it like that but I-"
"Is there something going on between the two of you that is going to jeopardise and break your poor husband to be's heart?" You stuttered your breath, not wanting to argue the situation but wanting to scream from the rooftops that you were to end things so that you could pursue your happiness and whether they liked it or not, they'd have to get used to it.
"What do you want me to say?"
"I want the god damn truth out of you!"
"I love him okay, I've always loved him. Just like he's always loved me. We were just two pair of idiots never ready to threaten our friendship by rejecting the other. I can't marry him, I can't be with someone when I feel devotion for another, I can't stop and I refuse to stop, I refuse to move on when there's something so special between us, something we've craved for so long and it's the right place at the wrong time. Someone's been keeping him in the loop of where I am whilst we haven't been talking, he confessed his love to me through a letter, he made a promise of forever to me. I can't risk losing the love of my life to some pesky marriage that I'm not willing to be a part of, not wanting to remain unhappy and bored for the rest of my days, because that's what I am, I'm-"
"It was me."
"What?!" Your death stare could not have been more imminent but your features faltered when you tried to figure out exactly what they meant.
"Joe know where's you've been because of me." Your mum stood up, sighing in defeat.
"I don't want you to be a carbon copy of me sweetheart, I want you to do what's right for you. Our family has always loved Joe, someone that's always been there for you through everything. I can't expect my daughter to live a life of unhappiness as you said so when you told me the lie of why you had fallen out, I knew all along. I just had to wait for the right time to tell you."
Your jaw almost dropped to the floor, the butterflies you once had were replaced with relief but unexpected nausea.
"You knew? You were in this with Joe? I don't know whether to feel happy or deceived..."
"Just know, I'm rooting for you whatever you decide."
Your mum had only finished her response when you felt a presence from behind you, your mums eyes grew as she chewed her bottom lip.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" You turned around to see your fiancé clenching his fists.
"I-I-I-" You stammered.
"Yeah. So what you're cheating on me with your best friend? You love your best friend and you don't want to marry me? What thoughts has this dickhead been putting into your stupid brain? What fucking letter? Is that why I've been trying to find you for the last two hours when you were probably in bed with him?"
"I'm sorry, I can't change my feelings I-"
"You'd better show me where he lives before I find him myself and god knows what I'll do."
"No you won't hurt him."
"I just want to talk." He gritted through his teeth, your mum removing herself from the situation, leaving you as grown adults to talk this out, she clearly felt partly guilty for all of this and didn't want to make it worse for you by speaking out.
Before you could say another word, he'd stampeded out of the door, throwing his feet onto the path, he just knew it would entice you to follow him.
"Please, don't."
"Take me now, we need to talk this out, man to man."
"Promise me you won't hurt him."
He grabbed a hold of your hand, opening the passenger door of his car for you to get into, you made your way over Joe's in the most vile of circumstances. You sat shaking next to him, he didn't bat an eyelid towards you the whole drive there, you uttered the directions in the quietest of tones, scared to death of the lengths he was probably about to go to in front of you to make sure this marriage went ahead.
He got out of the car before you when he pulled up, you'd not even got your finger up to point to the house which he lived in, you moved your way out behind him, screeching as your fiancé tried the door handle, successfully finding it unlocked and pushing the front door open, stomping inside of the house to find a confused Joe peaking his head around the kitchen door frame. Before he could realise who this random guy was that had just entered his home uninvited, Joe was pressed up to the bare wall behind him, your fiancé ragging him by his shoulders in anger. He'd truly took the violent root and you had just caught up to screech his name to stop what he was doing.
Joe pushed him away and a shouting match commenced between the two of them, strangely enough it seemed like Joe had expected something like this and remained in a calm manner even though he was obviously about to get beaten up. Joe clearly and quickly realised that you had at least tried to end things and it didn't go to plan as well as you both imagined it would of.
"First of all, can I help you?" Joe held his hands up to defend himself as your fiancé threw himself back at him, squaring up in his face, the whole situation was deafening to everybody and it felt like you were shouting pure silence and nobody was listening to a word you were saying.
"You can help me by leaving me and her alone, let us be, let us be happy. You've confused her that much she doesn't know what she wants anymore." He shouted straight in Joe's face, spit flying onto his face from the anger he was producing.
"She can't help who she loves." Joe said lowly. That's the moment he swung for Joe. His fist meeting with his cheek, taking Joe down to the floor immediately. Joe went to get back up and just as he did, your eyes swerved to the front door which opened, watching your face and the shouting echoing through the kitchen. Wes stood in a paralysed position, listening to the situation which he quickly put two and two together about, pushing through the door frame and making you fall to the side from his immediate instinct to protect his best friend.
Wes pulled him off of Joe, dragging him down to the floor and hitting him square in the face at least twice. Joe pulled Wes up off of him, keeping him back from basically killing him.
"Don't ever go for my mate like that ever again you hear me?" Your fiancé suddenly cowered that someone else had clearly overpowered him, bringing himself up to hit Wes once more, but Wes blocked it in sudden self defence, you jumped into the middle of them at once, stopping it the way you only knew how.
"Stop, please. I can't take this anymore!" You felt your fiancé grip to the back of your head to pull you away from with holding the fight to continue what he'd started, Joe promptly reaching at your hand to bring you toward him, safely placing you behind him.
"Fuck off and don't show your face here again." Wes warned, his eyes dilated with vexation, a way you'd never seen him before, but kind of loved to see, you always knew he was the defensive type, though it was clear he'd go to the ends of the earth to prevent his friends from getting hurt.
Your fiancé shot a look at you, watching you take a glimpse of him with the most sad eyes you could have ever seen. He looked back to Wes who was ready to give another punch if needed. Joe tilted his head to the door way as a means to tell him to leave in the most silent way possible, you could feel the way his hand held onto you behind him, rubbing his thumb up and down your knuckle, ignoring his evident nose bleed that had been caught from the knock of your fiancé's fist.
You put your foot out to follow him, taking a deep breath before you felt that Joe's hand was not letting go of yours, purely from confusion and want.
"What're you doing?" He asked.
"Ending this properly." You sighed.
You let go of Joe's hands and ran to the front door, shouting his name for him to hear as quick as you could.
Your fiancé halted but slowly sauntered up to you, you remained in the same spot, almost scared of him doing something to you when he was in this mood, not that he ever would have gone as far as hitting you but you'd never seen him this angry before so in the moment, you guessed things could happen.
"What now?" He snarled.
You removed your engagement ring from your finger, holding it between your fingers and pushing it to his chest. He caught a grip of it when you let go.
"It's over. It was over before but your actions have made up my mind completely. My parents and I will be over to get my stuff soon and I'll leave my key behind. After that, you won't hear from me again. You won't bother me again and you won't contact me or my family or even Joe again. Ok?"
You could tell he felt beat, every confession and every truth had come out in the open and there was no going back. A weight had been lifted off of your shoulders, something in especially this day and age he would have to accept, like it or lump it.
"So this is it?"
"This is it." You swallowed your nerves back, nodding and turning to walk the other way, not taking a second look as you walked back into the house.
You took yourself back into the kitchen where Wes was nursing a bloody Joe. They both stood up quickly upon your entrance. You felt free, you felt like you had conquered and it made you visually empowered.
You walked over to Wes, wrapping your arms around him in a warm embrace. "Thank you."
He responded well, moving his arms around the top of your back to sway you from side to side, you looked over to Joe who was smiling at you. You stood back, glancing straight back at him. Wes sighted over the two of you, nodding over at Joe he walked out of the room to give you both some space.
"I'm sorry, he insisted he came to talk to you. I didn't expect that to happen. I'm just so glad it's over. I'm sorry about your nose, I'm so sorry about you getting hurt I-"
"Princess." He wrapped his arms around you, kissing your forehead softly.
"Mmhm?" You nestled your face into his chest.
"Nothing matters more to me than what's here now. We're going to make it now no matter what and I'm going to love you until my dying day. Who knows someday maybe we'll get married?" You shot your head back to shoot a chuckle his way.
"Maybe we'll figure that out later, no use for weddings right now."
Joe sniggered. Your happily ever after was here, it had only just begun.

Las hijas de Luna
Tumblr media
Book: Open Heart
Pairing: Bryce Lahela (M!MC) x Luna Auclair (F!OC)
Rating: General. It’s a birth story. But there won’t be any graphic scenes.
Words: 5,000+
Summary: It’s time for Luna and Bryce to welcome their twins into the world. Will there be any complications? Or will the birth go without a hitch?
A/N: I just wanted to say thank you to the whole choices fandom. I couldn’t have come this far with my writing, my stories and my beloved characters, if I didn’t have such amazing and encouraging friends to cheer me on and support me. So thank you to anyone who’s given my writing, my stories and my characters a chance 💚
2 A/N: I’m by no means an expert with birth stories so please excuse any errors. I used my basic knowledge, friends knowledge and the internet to find out more about births but remember this is fiction, I was bit more freely with the details, but nothing too vivid or such pinky promise.
Side note: If you're curious how Luna and Bryce found out that they're expecting you can find out in my story "Cake by the Ocean"
I also included a playlist if you want to you can give it a listen here
2 Side note: I participated in the March Challenge @choicesmonthlychallenge and used the prompt plumeria flower. The plumeria flower symbolizes positivity & new beginnings đŸ„° (I think it wasn't among the flowers that were mentioned, but since the story takes place in Hawaii I thought I'd use this beautiful flower).

Bryce is about to head out on a camping trip with Keiki. They’re going to Waianae Mountain Range.
It usually took over an hour to get there. But the view was breathtaking and made up for the time it took you to get there.
I've been there with my family before. It’s marvelous. The fresh mountain air. The chirping birds, the rush of a nearby waterfall. And the light is perfect for painting. It’s truly a magnificent experience.
My cousin Skyler, Sky for short, didn’t like it so much, he got scared by spiders. Other than that it was pretty fun.
So when Keiki asked Bryce if he’d like to go? Bryce was excited to spend more time with his sister.
Because of his demanding job as a surgeon, he doesn’t get to spend as much time with his family as he would like to. Working odd hours, and being on call does that to your private life.
They’re going to spend the whole day together, going hiking, fishing and just sitting by the campfire. It was a beautiful idea, sans the camping. I’d rather go glamping, thank you very much. One time camping was enough. I grinned at the fond memory. I went camping with my family once and had to share a tent with Evie and Soraya.
It was great. It was like a sleepover. But I could’ve sworn I’ve seen a snake or two crawl outside and that kinda ruined the experience and sleeping on the cold hard floor wasn’t a picnic either.
I stood outside our house and watched as Bryce packed up the Jeep with their bags, tents, and some food my mom made for them earlier. I would’ve gone with them but I was told this could be straining for me since I’m due to give birth soon. With twins, you never know.
I’ve been having small contractions since this morning but I didn’t want to ruin Bryce’s trip with Keiki.
Gnawing on my lip I’m trying to decide if I should tell him, because if I do then he’ll cancel his trip and I don’t want to do that.
So I’ve been a bit worried all day.
Bryce looked up at me as if he felt my stare.
”Don‘t look so worried Lunes. We can go another weekend if you’re so worried. It’s close to your due date, Lu. I mean I know that twins usually arrive earlier than the expected due date.“
He looked slightly concerned and was torn if he should cancel the trip. His brown eyes were full of worry. The usual spark in his eyes was dimmed.
I walked towards him and tried to lighten the mood.
”I’m fine. See? Totally peachy!“ I smiled and did a little pirouette. Or tried to at least. It looked more awkward than what a pirouette should look like.
Bryce wasn’t convinced by my little performance.
We both heard some barking. That must be Knox, Adam‘s dog. Adam had a meeting with a potential client in Maui. He makes and builds his own furniture, and has his own company right here in Honolulu.
So when he asked us if we could look after Knox? We were more than happy to.
So both Maxi and Knox joined us in the house and are currently in our garden enjoying the sun and playing a round of catch.
I smiled and Bryce relaxed a little too. I hugged him, he pulled me closer, and I breathed in the fresh cotton scent and some cherry from his shower gel.
I looked up at him.
”If I should go into labour I’ve packed my bag just in case. Maxi and my mom are inside, my cousins and Meilani will be here shortly and I have your and Keiki's number on speed dial. It’s all good. Go have fun. We‘ll still be here when you come back.“
Bryce sighed and went to close the trunk of the Jeep. He walked over to me again.
”I hate leaving you here. Maybe I should just stay here. Yeah, that’s a good idea. Keiki will understand.“
I laughed as he tried to walk back into our house and I pushed him towards the car.
”Go and have fun B. I mean it. But don’t have too much fun without me.“
He took one last look at me and gave me a lingering kiss. One that made my toes curl. I smiled against his lips.
When he broke off the, he kissed me on the top of my head and got into the car.
I grinned at him and he smiled back, though the worry isn’t completely gone, it’s dimmed down a little. So I tried a reassuring smile.
”It’s going to be fine babe.“
”Alright Lunes. I’m sure things will work out.“
He nodded as if more to himself and grinned.
”Keiks let’s go. You can text your boyfriend in the car.“ He yell d towards the house and Keiki ran out the door with a blue metallic bag over her shoulder.
”Fyi he’s not my boyfriend. I was calling a guy who’s name I’m not telling you, so that you can win the betting pool.“
”Jesus.“ Bryce muttered, making me and Keiki laugh out loud.
She hugged me, smelling like peaches.
”Bye Looney.“
I grinned at them.
”Have fun guys. Love you.“
Bryce honked once and they were off, the headlights getting smaller.
My mom, Maxi, and Knox Adam’s dog were keeping me company. My mom said she’d spend the day with me until Bryce got back.
I walked inside our house once Bryce and Keiki were on their way.
As I closed the front door, a sudden pain made me clutch my stomach. I let out a slow breath. Okay, this was definitely a stronger contraction.
Maxi walked towards me, Knox in tow. She grinned but then took one look at me and rushed towards me.
”What’s wrong sugarplum?“
She guided me gently to the couch.
”I don’t know. It felt like a contraction. But that’s not possible. I'm not due yet.“
Once I sat down the pain was almost gone. I sighed in relief. Maybe it was because I overexerted myself today?
Meinlani said that could happen. I lifted my legs and laid down on the couch. Damn, this felt good. I sighed in relief.
Knox puts his head on my knee and I pet him behind his ears. Which makes him lick my hand. He’s a sweet dog.
My mom came over. She took one glance at me and a worried look entered her blue-green eyes.
”You okay baby?“
I nodded. Eyes closed. And I am. The pain was gone. At least for now. Maybe it was just a false alarm, and the small contractions I’ve been having since this morning were just preparation? I hoped that’s true.
”Why don’t I make you some chamomile tea? Hmm?“ She put a strand of my dark blonde hair behind my ear. I sighed in bliss.
”Two sugars?“
She kissed me on my forehead.
”You got it, baby.“
The next couple of hours were pretty uneventful. We chatted and watched Bridgerton. But I just couldn’t concentrate. I love that show. But I had a bad feeling.
Earlier I tried to reach Bryce to check in if they got there okay, but the call didn’t go through. Maybe they had bad cell signal? Of all days for the cell service not to work? Seriously screw you cell towers.
I was almost fast asleep, Knox by my side when the doorbell rang. I opened my sleepy eyes as Maxi got up and pinpointed me with a look.
”Don’t you dare get up. I’ve got it.“
I laughed and stayed on the couch.
”Who missed us?“
I turned my head and saw my cousins Evie and Soraya walk in. Followed by our friend and my OB/gyn Meilani, and Soraya‘s wife.
They all leaned down and hugged me.
”Good to see you’re following my orders to rest.“
”I’m a good student.“ I grinned.
Maxi snorted.
”That’s not true. You were up and about almost all day.“
”Luna!“
”Ohh. Someone’s getting a lecture.“ Evie said from across the room.
My mom let out a laugh.
Meilani was holding back a smile I can tell.
”Well you’re resting now, which I’m counting as a win.“ Meilani said and sat in the other armchair next to Meilani. Soon we were all laughing.
My mom's phone rang on the counter.
”Hey love.“
I could tell from the tone of her voice that it was my dad. She only talked like this when my dad was near.
”No, I haven’t heard anything about thunderstorm warnings. I’m with loon-moon, you know since Bryce went on that trip with Keiki.“
She listened some more and she was darting concerned looks at the phone.
”Yeah I agree. We’ll stay inside, don't worry. Love you too.“
My ears perked up at the words ”thunderstorm warnings“ and I sat up with Meilani's help.
My mom disconnected the call and we all looked at her.
I stared at my mom expectantly.
”Brian called and told me there were severe thunderstorm warnings issued. They’re urging everyone who doesn’t need to be outside to stay at home. I hope Bryce and Keiki will be okay. Looney, have you tried reaching him?“
I nodded.
”My calls and texts didn’t go through. What if he gets hurt? And they can’t reach anyone? Oh god.“
I tried not to cry but it was no use. I was full-on crying because I was worried about Bryce. Maxi reached me and hugged me.
”Hey come on don’t worry. Bryce is a tough guy, and he’s pretty resourceful. But don’t tell him I told you that. He'll tease me until eternity. So try to think positive. He’ll be okay.“
She kissed my temple and I tried to relax, but a shrivel of worry stayed where it was.
I nodded, got up and slowly walked to the bathroom. After drinking that chamomile tea I had to pee all the damn time.
It was good thinking that Bryce and I had installed another bathroom downstairs. To be honest I couldn’t walk upstairs right now just to use the bathroom.
As I opened the door I felt a wetness dribble down my feet. I stood frozen to the ground. Not moving an inch.
I was scared that if I moved I’d make it worse. I know that‘s technically not possible. But I’m scared. And a slight panic settled in the depths of my stomach.
Oh no. Not now. Please, not now. It’s too early.
I tried using the breathing techniques I used when I have an anxiety attack. Maybe that would calm me down a little.
Is the water supposed to break? I thought that was just a thing from movies and TV shows. But apparently, it’s a thing.
I must’ve made a tiny sound because I heard some tiny little footsteps clacking on the wooden floorboards.
Knox must’ve heard me. He stood there and watched me. When I didn’t say anything, he barked and I put my hand through his soft golden fur.
”It’s okay. No need to worry right? Women have given birth before, right?“ Even I could hear the panic in my voice.
”Lunes? Do you need help to sit down on the toilet?“ I heard the others snicker.
But I was not in the mood for jokes.
”My water just broke.“
They stopped laughing and I could hear them coming closer.
Meilani was the first one followed by my mom, Maxi, Soraya, and Evie.
Meilani shot me a reassuring smile.
”Okay no need to worry. Why don’t you go and wash up? We’ll grab your packed bag and drive you to the hospital?“
I nodded and Maxi was by my side and coached me through my breathing.
”Deep breaths sugarplum. Come on. In and out.“
She instructed me and I repeated it a couple of times before I was able to breathe normally again.
”I’ll go wash up.“ I said.
”I’ll bring you a change of clothes.“ Maxie said and went upstairs.
Evie and Soraya stood there unsure what to do, so I turned to them.
”Can you guys try Bryce’s phone again? I’d feel better knowing that he and Keiki are okay.“
Evie nodded and Soraya went outside to see if Meilani needed any help.
”I couldn’t reach him before. But I’ll keep calling him.“ Evie said.
I went inside the bathroom to wash up. Hoping we’ll make it to the hospital in time. Hopefully, the streets will be cleared despite all the storm warnings.
When I went outside I saw Soraya rushing in. A concerned look on her face.
”We’ll have a problem getting to the hospital. As I was turning on the engine, I noticed that the car was stuck. It hasn’t stopped raining, so the trails are too muddy from the rain.“
I sighed and when a contraction rolled around I tried breathing through it. But I couldn’t help the whimper that escaped.
”I was afraid of that. The calls to the hospital didn’t go through either. I tried calling my head nurse Valerie. But I can’t reach anyone.“
She looked around trying to reassess the situation.
”Okay we’ve got this no problem.“
”What do you need?“ My mom sprinted into action.
Meilani looked around.
”We need to make a make-shift birthing room. The contractions are pretty early on, so it could take hours before Luna is ready to push. She has to be fully dilated. Again that could take hours, and maybe the streets will be cleared up by then. We also don’t have any medical supplies or an epidural that I could give to Luna. I’m not going to risk an infection to either her or the twins.“
My mom nodded.
”Okay Meilani and Maxine you stay with Luna and make her feel comfortable. She doesn’t need any added stress to her right now. Soraya, Evie, and I will try to get the car rolling again. So that we can make it to the hospital.“
Everyone nodded while I was walking back and forth, not able to sit still. When I’m anxious I tend to walk a dent into the carpet.
When everyone was done making a makeshift birthing room, Meilani pointed for me to lie down.
”Alright. Let’s make you comfortable.“
Meilani sighed and looked up at me. A serious look on her face.
”How long?“ I asked, my eyes full of tears because Bryce wasn’t here and I couldn't reach him.
”We’ve got time. So try and relax. I know it sounds a lot, but you’ve got this okay?“
”Sure I’ll just lie down and feel all peachy. That’s a-okay.“
Meilani smiled at me, completely ignoring my sarcasm.
”But just so you know the contractions are only going to get more painful. So I’m going to time the distance to know for sure when it’s time to push okay? That way we’ll be able to at least have some time to prepare alright?“
I sucked in a breath and nodded.
”The contractions are going to be worse than what I’m feeling now? Yeah sure no problem.“
”You got this babe.“ Meilani smiled and her smile put me a bit at ease.

Bryce
Nothing but the blue sky above us as we drove towards Waianae Mountain Range. Listening to Elvis Presley songs. The top is rolled up, and we’re singing out loud.
Keiki laughed at my singing technique. Making me sing even louder.
It took us a little longer than an hour, but hey that’s fine. We made it and that’s the most important thing.
I turned off the engine of our Jeep when we arrived at the campsite. We got out of the car and put our bags, the tents, and the food we packed out of the car trunk.
I grinned at Keiki. Then I heard her curse as she tried to get the tent up and I grinned.
”Need any help there Keiks?“ I smiled.
”Nope. I’ve got it.“ She replied.
”Hopefully this time you can get your tent up, not like last time. When it all fell apart.“
Keiki turned around and pointed an accusing finger at me.
”That‘s so not true. You helped me build it. So technically it’s your fault it fell apart.“
I laughed.
While putting up the tent, I couldn’t shake off this bad feeling I’ve had ever since we started the trip. I tried reaching Lunes but there’s bad cell service out here. I barely have any bars on my cell phone. It seems as if there won’t be any cell service for some time.
When we heard thunder roaring in the distance we both stopped setting up our tents.
My gut feeling was confirmed when I saw dark grey clouds rolling in, where just a while ago the sky was brilliantly blue before.
”Damn it.“ I cursed again.
I went to my car and turned on the radio to see if there were any severe thunderstorm alerts issued for Honolulu. I found a radio station and only caught the last sentence.
”
urge people to stay inside. There are severe thunderstorm warnings for Honolulu, Kailua, Waipahu
“
I turned the radio off and walked towards Keiki who looked up from building her tent.
”You okay?“ She asked with apprehension written across her face.
”There were several thunderstorms issued and I have a bad feeling. I also can’t reach Luna.“
I pushed my hand through my hair.
”I’m sure she’s fine.“ Keiki tried to reassure me, but the worry stayed with me.
Keiki reached into her bag and gave me a signal booster for my phone.
”Luna's dad gave me a signal booster for my phone when he heard we were going camping. I’ve brought it with me just in case.“
”You’re a lifesaver Keiks.“
She smiled at me.
I tried reaching Luna and when I did it was not her voice I heard. It was Evie‘s. Luna’s cousin.
”Thank god Bryce. We’ve been trying to reach you for hours.“
I could hear a voice in the background.
”Evie? What’s wrong? Is Luna okay?“
Evie was back on the line.
”Her water broke. We’re on our way to the hospital.“
Her voice stopped me in my tracks, my heart started beating faster and I could feel the blood rush through my veins.
”What? When? Is she okay?“
Keiki looked towards me and when she saw my panicked expression she walked towards me and put her hand on my shoulder. I gripped her hand tightly.
”Wait, I'll give her the phone.“
I heard some rustling and then Luna was on the line.
”B?“
When I heard her voice I breathed out a breath of relief. I didn’t realize how tense I was. My shoulders dropped, since Luna’s voice instantly relaxed me.
”Are you okay?“ I asked because I wanted to hear if she was in any pain.
”I
yeah. I’m fine. But B? I can’t do this without you. Please tell me you’ll be here?“
I sighed. And activated my doctor mode. I tried to act as if this was one of my patients. But it only worked for a short amount of time.
”I’ll make it. Don’t worry, and don’t start without me. But seriously you’re in good hands. Meilani is an exceptional doctor
“
I didn’t get to finish when I heard her cry out.
”Lunes?“ I said and then I heard Meilanis' voice.
”She’s fine for now. We’re on our way to the hospital. So you better get your ass there Lahela.“
”How far along is she until she has to push?“
”We’ve got a little bit of time, but soon. We wanted to go there earlier but with the thunderstorms, it was raining and the car was stuck. The others are trying to get the car out so we can get to the hospital.“
I nodded as if she could see me.
”Alright I’ll be there.“
I heard more noises.
”I have to go Bryce. Luna needs me. Please be there. She can’t do this without you.“
”I promise I’ll make it.“
That’s when we ended the call. And I pinched my nose. And then I had to laugh because it reminded me so much of something Ethan would do.
”What’s wrong?“ Keiki asked me. And when I didn't answer her immediately she yelled my name.
”Bryce!“
Her voice shook me out of my daze.
”Luna’s water broke.“
”Wait, didn't you say she wasn’t due yet?”
She looked at the dark sky above us and her eyes turned worried.
I rubbed my neck nervously.
”Yeah. But sometimes you can go into labor earlier. Especially with twins.“
”Then we should go. I don’t think this camping trip will take place today. The weather is too bad. There could be landslides, especially in the mountains. And we don’t want to be here when that happens.“
I nodded and we both got our stuff packed up.
”You’re right Keiks. We should head back. Before the roads get too bad.“
I was loading everything into the car when I heard Keiki's voice.
”I think it might be too late for that big brother.“
I stuck my head out of the car to see where Keiki was pointing.
She pointed at the trail that was completely covered in mud. Even with our Jeep, we’ll have a hard time getting the car going.
Dammit. Of all days for a thunderstorm to arrive it had to be today of all days. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad omen. Though I truly hoped that it was a good omen and that the Hawaiian gods would be merciful with the weather today. Saying a silent prayer I looked up and hoped I would be there to witness the birth of my children.
I breathed out and turned to my little sister.
”Alright. Let’s not panic. Let’s try if we can get the car onto the road.“
Keiki nodded, but I could tell she was not convinced that we’d get the car on the road.
I turned on the engine and after a couple of seconds we got on the road and I swerved to avoid any muddy parts on the street.
We made it halfway home when we hit a pothole and got stuck.
It rattled the car for a second, and I tried to back out of the pothole, but no dice. No matter how hard I tried we were stuck.
”What now? Should we try to move the car?“ Keiki asked.
I shook my head and I hit my hands on the steering wheel. Frustrated.
”Fuck. I hate that we got stuck. Today of all days.“
Keiki slapped me on my arm.
”Well we won’t solve it by sitting inside the car. Let’s see how bad we’re stuck.“
I felt myself nodding and we got out to see how big the pothole was.
”Yeah okay we’re screwed.“ Keiki whistled.
I shot her an annoyed look.
”What? I’m just saying.“ She grinned and I laughed half-heartedly, as I was trying to calculate how long it would take us if we made a run for it.
”How long would it take us if we made a run for it?“ I voiced my thoughts aloud.
I looked at my sister who got her phone to see how far it would take us.
”It’s 10 miles from here.“
”We could make it in time.“
Keiki chewed on her fingernails. Painted in a deep pink shade.
”You’re faster than me. I could stay here in the car and you could go to the hospital. I’d only slow you down. I’m not exactly a sports person.“
I was torn if I should just go, leave my sister behind, and miss the birth of my twins or if we should make a run for it.
Keiki sighed.
”We’re wasting time debating this. Just go. Give me the booster for my phone and we can stay in touch. I’ll be fine I promise.“
I sighed and looked at her.
”Are you sure Kei-Kei?“
She nudged me forward.
”Go! I don’t want my big brother to miss the birth of my nieces. I’d never hear the end of it. Also if you faint please take pics, I want to remember this day.“ She said grinning.
”Very funny Keiks. I’ll stay in touch.“
”I’m going to be a dad.“ I shouted and she grinned at me, shaking her head.
I gave her the signal booster for her phone, kissed her on her forehead, and made a run for it.
As I was running I kept praying that I made it on time for the birth of our twins.
Which spurred me to run faster.

As another strong contraction hit me I cried out.
Meilani kept shooting me dirty looks.
”Luna. As your doctor, I’m telling you we can’t wait any longer.“
”Please, Mei. I can’t do this without him. Please. Just 5 more minutes, please?“
Meilani closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she crossed her arms over her chest and sighed, seeing that I wouldn’t budge on this.
”Alright, fine. We’ll wait 5 more minutes. After that, it’s pushing time.“
I nodded.

I was wheezing. Almost wept from joy. My calves are killing me, but I’m almost there. Just a couple more steps and I‘m at the hospital. I could see the building already coming closer.
I made it to the hospital, and rushed through the hospital doors all muddy and sweaty.
As I was on my way to the elevator a voice stopped me.
”Where do you think you’re going, young man? This is a hospital.“
When I turned around Brenda gave me the evil eye.
”Lahela you know the rules.“
”Yes I know. Please! Luna is upstairs, she's about to give birth. I can’t miss that. Please.“
”At least get a little cleaned up!“
I groaned. Seriously?
”Could you be a Karen somewhere else?“ I muttered under my breath.
”What was that?“ She cleared her throat.
”Nothing. I’ll get cleaned up, upstairs. Thanks, Brenda.“
”Yeah. Yeah.“
I sighed in relief as I punched the elevator button and the elevator rode up.
All I cared about was that I made it to the hospital to be there for Lunes when our twins were born.
The elevator dinged and I almost stumbled out of it, because I couldn’t wait to get out into the hall.
The first person I saw was Grace, Luna’s mom walking back and forth. Soraya and Evie were next to her sitting on the hard plastic chairs.
When Grace saw me coming in she started to cry and hugged me. I hugged her back. Though I’m anxious to see Luna.
”Thank god you made it Bryce.“ She put her hands around my face and I smiled at her.
I turned to look at Grace when I didn't see Luna anywhere.
She pointed to a room to the right and that’s when I heard painful screams coming from inside.
Luna must’ve already started pushing. I winced. Hating I couldn’t be there for her from the start. But I tried to not dwell on that. I’m here now and that’s what counts.
Grace smiled at me.
”Luna has already started pushing. She waited until the last minute. But she had to start.“
I nodded and got going.
”She’s inside with Meilani and her head nurse Valerie.“
I nodded and opened the door. Meilani didn’t look up as she guided Luna through the birth.
I quickly scrubbed in as fast as I could and joined Luna and Meilani.
”Okay that’s good Lu. That’s good. Just keep pushing.“ Meilani said in a soothing voice when I got to Luna’s side who shot me an angry look.
”Where the fuck were you B?“
I winced and then I smiled at her for using a curse word.
”Let’s leave story time for after you’ve given birth. What’s important is that I’m here.“
”I’m going to kick your ass for this later.“
I grinned and kissed her forehead.
”I wouldn’t have it any other way.“
Meilani grinned and her head nurse Valerie stood next to Meilani, keeping track of the heart monitor.
Meilani‘s voice got me out of my trance.
”Dad? Wanna do the honors?“
I squeezed Luna‘s hand and stood in the front to catch the first baby.
As I did, a loud cry filled the room and I suddenly held one of my girls in my arms.
”I forget how tiny they are when they’re born.“ Valerie smiled next to me and I nodded.
I looked at my little girl, and a whole new love entered my heart. I wasn’t prepared for this feeling.
It’s as if my heart was going to burst from all this love. Making space for new people entering my life. I still couldn’t believe Luna and I created these beautiful babies.
I took my daughter's little hand in mine and kissed it.
”Hi there, beautiful. Look at you being all pretty huh?“
”A new member in your Ohana.“ Valerie kept sniffing.
I nodded and kept rocking the baby and when she opened her eyes she looked at me and stopped crying.
”It’s your awesome dad. So cool right? Look at your mom. Super strong and going at it.“
Valerie laughed softly at my comment and I grinned.
I turned to Luna and waved with my daughter's little hand at Luna.
I kissed our baby's tiny forehead and Valerie took her from me. Taking care of the washing and weighing.
Then I was at Luna’s side again and together we got to see our second baby. Another loud cry just like her twin sisters filled the room, as she entered the world.
My heart couldn’t be fuller at this second, as I looked down at Luna and saw her tired but happy face look up at me. I kissed her and she sighed.
Meilani‘s voice got us out of our reverie. We must’ve looked as if we smoked too much weed. Goofy expressions on our faces as we looked at Meilani.
”Congratulations you two. I’m so happy that I could be a part of it.“
”I already know my vagina won’t be the same after this.“
Meilani laughed out loud and I grinned too. If Lunes can make jokes then she’s okay.
Valerie walked towards us and handed me Kehlani and Alaia. We heard the door open and when we looked up all we saw were the faces of Grace, Evie, and Soraya.
They all opened the door wider and entered the room.
”Look Keilani Mae and Alaia Rose are finally here with us, Lunes. They’re just as beautiful as their mom and dad.“
Luna rolled her eyes.
”I knew you’d bring yourself into the conversation.“
”What can I say? I’m good-looking. Says so on the onesie.“
Luna just shook her head and grinned, probably too tired for a comeback.
”You’ve done it. You gave birth to two beautiful girls.“ Meilani wiped away some tears. And we all just smiled, letting this little miracle, er
miracles, seep in.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
Soraya and Evie walked towards us and held the little twins. Cuddling them and peppering them with kisses.
”Sky is going to be so jealous that he didn’t hold the twins first. Let’s call him.“ Evie said and Soraya nodded.
They handed them back and I held them close as I put them on Luna’s chest.
Luna started to sob when she saw the twins for the first time. She touched Kehlani's little cheek with her forefinger.
”They’re so tiny and smell so beautiful. Like a new book. For a new chapter of our lives.“
She looked up at me and I nodded, too full of emotions to form a proper sentence so I just nodded and we enjoyed the time with our twins.

Luna
Holding your babies? It was a whole new level of love.
It’s something I didn’t know I wanted so much, as I held them close and took in their newborn smell. My love, my life.
I‘d lay down my life for my twins. I’d do anything to keep them safe.
As I looked down at them. I couldn’t believe they were here. It seemed as if I’ve been waiting for years to see their tiny little faces. I swore I’ll be a good mom.
A new exciting and thrilling feeling filled my body.
Giving me a new superpower. I’ve never felt this strong. I felt invincible. That’s probably the meds talking. But I don’t fucking care. It’s exactly where we belonged. I never thought this was the road my life would take me.
With Bryce, Kehlani Mae, and Alaia Rose. Our beautiful little family. Our Ohana. Our lives, no our love has grown ten times fold.
I smiled up at Bryce who had the same look in his cinnamon brown eyes as I did.
He leaned down to give me a gentle kiss, making this moment perfect.

Luna fell asleep and was resting in the hospital bed. As I kept holding the twins.
There was a rocking chair in the corner and I sat down with the twins.
I've been rocking the twins to sleep for over an hour, but it felt as if we were in our tiny pink bubble of love. Nothing could touch us.
I heard a soft knock and looked up as the door opened.
It’s Grace and Brian. Luna’s parents.
Grace just started crying when she saw me again. She tugged at her husband's jacket.
”Do you see what I see? Oh my god Brian, look at those two beautiful angels! I mean I know I’ve seen them earlier, but my heart is about to explode.“
Grace shook Brian’s arm. Almost ripped it out of its sockets and I chuckled to myself. I can see where Luna got her excitement from.
”I know I’m standing right next to you so I see exactly what you see darling.“ Brian replied softly.
Grace rolled her blue-green eyes, just like Luna‘s.
”I don’t even care about your sarcasm right now.“
I smiled at them.
”Do you want to hold them?“ I offered knowing that if I don’t, Grace will just take them from me and cuddle them close to her.
Grace just nodded.
”Say hi to Kehlani Mae and Alaia Rose.“
”Hi there Lani.“ Grace held Kehlani‘s little hand and she blinked her sleepy brown eyes open.
Brian smiled fondly.
”Rosie looks so sweet.“
I sat back down next to Luna who was sleeping peacefully after not only giving birth to one but two babies.
Our rockstar.
I loved that we were able to experience the moment of our twins' birth together. Our love and genetics made this happen.
This is our Ohana. And I’m grateful that we‘ve started a new chapter in our lives.

“Cut!” The producer’s voice echoed out across the sound stage, and you sighed in relief as the work day came to an end. You smiled to the staff member who took your MC microphone from you as you stepped off the small platform, a hand swooping in to guide you gently down the step.
Your breath hitched as you looked over to see Kun’s nimble fingers clasping yours, his handsome face smiling. You felt the heat brush up onto your cheeks as you nodded your thanks. Your hands stayed connected for just a beat too long before he released you, walking off the stage in the direction of his green room. You bit your lip, gathering the courage to follow him before walking a little too fast to not be embarrassing to anyone watching. Which, you hoped, no one was.
His door was already closed by the time you reached his room, and your fist that was ready to knock on his door froze in midair. You didn’t want to bother him, but you were dying to get asking him out over with. Over the past several months that the two of you had been working together you had grown closer, sharing meals nearly every day on and off set and filming for hours together. Now that your time as an MC was almost up, you weren’t sure if you and Kun would stay connected. Even if he didn’t feel the same way, at the very least you wanted to remain friends.
Huffing, you gathered the courage to draw your fist back again to knock when his door suddenly swung open, revealing a shirtless Kun. Unable to stop yourself, you looked down at his defined abdomen and greedily took in all his deliciously sharp angles and muscles. It wasn’t until you heard your name uttered by his smooth voice that you whipped your eyes back up to meet his. You tried to calm your racing heart as you laughed nervously, Kun’s face gentle and amused.
“Can I help you?” He chuckled.
“Yes!” You squawked. Clearing your throat, you tried again, “Mm. I mean, yes.” There, much calmer.
“I just, er, I just wanted to talk to you. Quickly, I know you’re probably tired,” you smiled brightly. He returned your smile, ushering you inside.
“Of course. Although I’m never too tired for you,” he hummed. That familiar heat made its way back up your neck as you giggled quietly.
He slid a plain t-shirt over his head, much to your relief, as you sat gingerly on the small couch in his room. Kun came to sit next you to and gave you his full attention as he faced you.
“What did you want to talk to me about?”
You picked at the skin near your thumbs as you took a deep breath, trying to find the right words.
“I—well, I’m just going to be honest. I have had so much fun MC-ing with you this year, Kun, and I hope that we can remain friends after our contracts are up. I
I just wanted to tell you that I think you’re amazing. And I’ve
I’ve grown to
” you trailed off, suddenly nervous at his possible rejection. Kun was calm as ever though, watching you with his gentle and open expression you had grown to love so dearly. He nodded encouragingly, letting you gather your thoughts.
You inhaled and exhaled, looking him in the eyes. “I’ve grown to like you. As in, more than a friend. I understand if you don’t feel the same way, but I just wanted to tell you, before it was too late,” your voice was quiet, just above a whisper. The room was silent for a few beats, and a small horror that you had ruined a wonderful friendship began to creep up inside you.
Kun banished those thoughts in the next moment, though, as he slid closer to you and grabbed your clammy hands. He held yours in his one of his own as the other held your face with devastating softness.
“Y/n
I
I’m so glad you told me that. That took a lot of bravery. Certainly more than I have,” he chuckled to himself. “I feel the same way. I have for a long time, but—honestly, I was just too nervous to confess.”
Your mouth dropped open in shock as you stared at him, watching his full lips curl into a grin as he let you take in his confession. Kun still held your hand and your face as you processed what he had said.
“Really? You, you feel the same way?” Your heart raced even faster as Kun nodded, taking his hand from your face to clasp both your hands into his.
“That’s
well, that’s great! Awesome! Ha!” You laughed brightly, relief crashing through you as your mind raced with the fantasy of finally dating the man you had fallen for.
“It is great,” he laughed with you, bringing you in for an unexpected hug. You paused only for a moment before returning it, breathing in that comforting scent you had become so accustomed to being around. The two of you pulled apart and watched one another with happy faces.
“So, do you want to go on a date?” You asked merrily.
“Wow, I have got to learn how to be this confident,” Kun shook his head, and you shoved him playfully. He snorted, then looked into your eyes with his big brown ones.
“Of course I do,” he said softly. You struggled to contain your squeal, throwing your arms around his neck once again and relishing in feeling his chest shake with laughter before his arms came around you once more. You stayed like that for a while, racing heartbeats calming and beating as one.
