What everyone wants to know is....will Shadow use a gun in the movie?
Well....they already brought back the Dark Rider and it's clear the Shadow game is very close to Jeff Fowler's heart. So I think he'll hold a gun at least once, however...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every time someone draws a weapon it's either a Taser, a tranq gun or some type of sci-fi energy pistol. The only exception is in the first movie when Wade nearly shoots Robotnik, we never see a regular firearm being used after that.
So we probably won't see Shadow using a realistic gun or rifle like in the 2005 game. It'll most likely be some sci-fi weapon like the ones used by GUN in the movies.

“i call shower first!” you exclaim the second the garage door is open, sprinting past matt up the stairs to his bathroom.
“there’s three showers,” chris says matter-of-factly as you blow past him on the steps, holding a hand out in confusion.
matt sighs and follows behind you, passing chris as well, “yeah, but you don’t have to share,”
you’re already on the mainfloor, running into matt’s bedroom to grab the change of clothes you’d left earlier.
“i’m so glad i don’t have a girlfriend,” chris mutters, earning a smack upside the head from nick, “jesus, fuck, what,”
“you’re just annoying,” nick says, deciding it’s a good enough explanation and getting a laugh out of matt.
“agreed,” matt’s still chuckling when they reach the kitchen table, setting down the take out the four of you had gotten on your way back to the house. he hears the water turn on in his bathroom, accompanied by the soft sound of your voice as you sing along to your music.
“oh she’s a nicki fan,” nick says to no one in particular, referencing the tik tok sound when he notices you’re listening to a nicki minaj song.
matt looks up from the bag of food and laughs.
chris sinks into the couch but looks over at matt, arm slung over the cushions, “i wonder if she could tell our voices apart,” he says after a second.
“what?” matt asks, thinking the question is mildy rediculous.
“like do you think she could recognize your voice?” chris explains, wandering into the kitchen now. opening a pepsi and leaning up against the counter.
nick chimes in now, having been fiddling with the vlog camera and battery, “like compared to you and me?” he asks chris, glancing back at matt as if to say ‘is this guy for real?’
“yeah,” chris nods.
“yeah, obviously she’d be able to tell my voice apart from yours,” matt is looking back at the food again, tone matter-of-fact, as if what he’d said was absolute common sense.
chris is quiet for about half a second and matt thinks that’s the end of that absurd conversation. it isn’t, of course.
“should we test it out?” chris asks through a sip of soda.
matt officially gives up on trying to set the food up, throwing his hands up in mock surrender before turning to chris, “and how are we gonna do that?”
chris shrugs, but nick has an idea, “chris, you could like, just go ask her for something, if you left something in the bathroom—“
“absolutely not,” matt shuts it down immediately with a shake of his head, “you're not going in the bathroom when my girlfriend is showering,”
“i won’t even go all the way in!! i’ll cover my eyes,” chris promises, but matt is still skeptical. “i’ll just like poke my head in the door and ask if i left like..a belt or some shit in there,” is chris’ next offer.
matt sighs and thinks about it, weighing the pros and cons. of course you can tell his voice apart from his brothers…right? he’s making himself nervous, pysching himself out and worrying they all sound the same to you. it upsets him for some reason, he can’t quite decide why.
“fine,” he agrees after a beat of silence, convincing himself you know whis voice well enough to separate it from chris’, and if you can’t, he thinks he might actually feel a sick twinge of unjustified jealousy.
“yes,” chris mutters under his breath, always excited to pull a prank on anyone.
“this is definitely going in the vlog,” nick says, still messing with the camera and coming to sit at the kitchen table where matt is now.
“i can’t believe i agreed to this,” matt mumbles, rubbing his eyes and taking a deep breath. he stands from his seat and walks over to the wall where he can see the bathroom door, feeling some what protective, like he needs to supervise chris to make sure he doesn’t wander too far into the bathroom.
“what should i say?” chris turns back arms pulled in close to his body as if he’s nervous. he’s already grinning and trying to keep from laughing.
“ooh, call her sweetheart, matt always does that,” nick suggests, wiggling his brows in matt’s direction to tease him.
“oh my god,” matt groans softly, rubbing at his eyes, “i fucking hate you guys,”
“okay, i’m going in,” matt drops his hands at that, eyes on his brother immediately. chris puts a hand over his eyes, just as he said he said he would before knocking on the door. nick has the camera out to record and is trying to stifle his laugh in the collar of his hoodie.
at the sound of the knock matt hears your voice, calling out for him, no doubt thinking it’s him at the door. he has to cover his mouth, partly out of nerves but also to keep himself from saying anything.
“yeah,” chris starts, needing to take a second before continuing because he’s already making himself laugh. “yeah, sweetheart, did i leave my belt in here?” he asks, barely stood in the doorway of the bathroom.
“uhh, i think it’s in your bedroom?” you say after a slight pause, about to poke your head out from behind the shower curtain, but chris has already mumbled a ‘thanks’ and essentially sprinted out of the bathroom, closing the door and crumbling to the floor in giggles.
“you’re not fucking real,” matt shakes his head, laughing softly himself and pushing off the wall to go back to the kitchen table. he’s a bit bummed that you didn’t realize it wasn’t his voice, but he keeps that to himself.
nick pans the camera over to matt’s face, which seems expressionless, even with both his brothers cackling outside of the frame.
you come out of the bathroom in a cloud of steam, heading into matt’s bedroom to drop the clothes you’d changed out of. matt is instantly sitting back up, the legs of his chair scraping along the hardwood floors.
“ooh, someone’s pissed,” nick turns the camera to himself, eyeing the now closed door.
“that was too fucking good,” chris says after a deep breath, still recovering from laughing so hard. he pulls a chair out next to nick and the two start to explain what had happened to the camera, eyes flicking up to matt’s door every few seconds.
in the bedroom you’re putting your dirty clothes back into your bag when matt comes in, looking a little bit pouty, “hey baby,” you turn towards him, laughing at the slightly pathetic look he gives you, “what’s up?” you wonder.
“m’ tired,” he tells you, slumping up against you for a hug. you wrap your arms around him and rub his back, letting him lay his weight into you.
“we’ll eat and go to bed, yeah?” you give his back another little pat when he nods against you, “mkay, let’s go,” you kiss his cheek quickly, only to have him turn his head in search of a real kiss. you oblige of course.
nick and chris have already started eating and updating the vlog on their day when you and matt come out of the bedroom. matt joins them at the table but you head for the fridge to grab a drink. “oh, did you find your belt?” you ask matt, still digging around.
“what?— oh yeah” he mumbles, gaze turned down to his fries.
“okay good. by the way you sounded so much like chris when you came in— it freaked me the fuck out” you say with your head in the fridge, still searching for the diet coke you know you left inside the door, “did one of you drink my coke–”
“wait what?” matt’s head snaps up, food forgotten.
“hmm?” you turn around to find all three boys looking at you. nick’s mouth open in a half smile and chris clearly trying not to burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. matt’s just staring at you with eyes a little bit too wide before he speaks up.
“what do you mean i sounded weird?” he asks, leaning forward. you notice nick’s shut up about whatever he was saying to the camera earlier, pointing the lens at you now.
“i dunno, when you said sweetheart it just sounded super fucking weird— why are you guys looking at me like that–” you have to ask, feeling slightly weirded out by the intensity of their gazes
“i knew it!!” matt cheers, punching the air and doing a silly little dance as nick doubles over and starts hitting the table.
chris’ jaw drops and he presses his fingers into his eyes as he laughs next to his brother, leaning on him.
matt bounds over to you with a grin, arms wrapping around your waist and lifting you off the ground slightly.
“whaaaat,” you giggle, clearly confused by their reaction.
“it was me,” chris manages to say between bouts of laughter, “we– we were trying to see if you could tell our voices apart.”
“of course i can tell your voices apart, especially your voice,” you turn towards matt, saying it like it should be obvious, like it’s silly they doubted you for even a second.
matt’s just grinning at you, feeling a strange sense of pride swelling in his chest, “i knew you could,”
“bullshit!” chris exclaims, both him and nick still leaning against each other as they laugh.
“he’s right, you were freaked the fuck out,” nick manages to say between giggles, “you watched chris like a fucking hawk when he opened the bathroom door,” he looks over at you, his smile contagious, “he was definitely freaked the fuck out,”
matt groans and drops his head against your shoulder. you brush your fingers through his hair and chuckle to yourself, “awe matt,” you coo, “i definitely know your voice, i’ll probably be hearing lots of it later anyways.”

This one moment was about to change your entire life. You were terrified. Would you be a good mom? Would you be able to make a good enough life for the little growing blimp inside you? Your thoughts were running a million times a minute. Wondering how this would affect the rest of your lives. How this one moment just changed the rest of your life.
You slowly sat on the edge of the tub, in shock, the positive pregnancy test in your hand. Your mind drifted to Tyler. Oh god. His tornado wrangler YouTube channel had began to soar in popularity. He and the team making a name for themselves. He had millions of views and a huge fan club. What would this do to his career?
“Hey hun-” Tyler knocks on the door, jolting you from your thoughts. His hand jiggles the door finding it locked. He furrows his eyebrows, you never locked the door. “you alright?”
“Y-yeah!” You rummaged underneath the sink, hiding the test under some towels. “One sec.”
You knew Tyler was getting ready to leave, a few storms brewing before this upcoming weekend. You exit the bathroom and met with Tyler’s hard chest, “You leaving?”
He peeks behind you, concerned and curious, “Yeah, why’d you have the door locked? You never lock the door.”
You shrug, playing it off. You could wait to tell him when he got back, “sometimes a girl needs her privacy.”
He hums in response, not completely believing you. However, he didn’t want to press you. If there was something bothering you, you’d eventually tell him when you were ready. He could respect that. He slips his arms around you, tugging you close against his chest. He was a mix of sweat and that musky sandalwood. It was calming and heavenly. “I’ll be back in a couple days. You gonna be able to hold down the fort?”
You nod against his chest, tightening your arms around him, “I can.” You lift your head to stare up at him, “You better come back in one piece.”
He chuckles with a nod, “Yes ma’am.” He presses a soft kiss to your forehead and then your lips. “I will call you when we get to the hotel.”
You walk him out to bid him and the team goodbye. Shielding your eyes from the sun, you watch him drive down the driveway. He hangs his hand out the window, waving goodbye. You return the wave, saying a silent prayer for a safe return of him and the team as your hands find your new growing womb. “He’ll be back.”
~
You’d spent the entire weekend trying to figure out how to tell him. You’d called one of your girlfriends in tears, wondering how to tell him. Worried you would be ruining his life. She reassured you, “Tyler isn’t that kind of guy, y/n. You know that. He’s going to support you and be excited for this next step.”
You heard the slam of the screen door, “Tyler must be home.”
“Call me later.”
You throw the blanket off you, meeting him in the foyer as he’s taking off the boots. “You’re home early?”
He smiles at the sight of you, but frowns when he notices you’ve been crying, “Had a feeling I needed to come home to my girl.” He crosses the foyer to you in only a few steps before gathering you in his arms.
At the first feel of comfort, the flood gates open, sobbing into his chest. damn hormones.
“Oh baby..” He squeezes you tighter, cradling your head against his chest, “Talk to me.”
You take a few seconds to console yourself. His large thumb wipes your tears away, waiting patiently for you.
You gather yourself, taking a deep breath before you meet his eyes, “I’m pregnant.”
His large hands cup your cheeks, his eyes light up, full of hope, “Yeah? You’re pregnant?”
You nod and hiccup a sob, beginning to rant, “I’m so sorry-you’ve just started your YouTube channel and you guys are so successful now-”
“No no no- Shhh.” He pulls you in a comforting hug, “This is incredible. I couldn’t be any happier.”
He holds you against his chest, slowly rocking back and forth as you calm down, “I knew something was bothering you. I just had a feeling.” He kisses your hair, and then makes you look at him, “We’re gonna be parents.” He's hesitant, but places a hand on your stomach, “you’re gonna be an amazing mom..”
You waddled into the room to find Tyler painting the wall of the nursery. His hat on backwards, jeans and shirt stained with paint.
“How’s it going in here?” You take a seat in the wooden rocking chair, sighing in relief. Those stairs were beginning to take a toll on you. Your growing baby leaving barely any room for your lungs to breathe.
“Almost done.” He sets the paint brush down, hands on his hips he admires his work around the room. “all I got left is this wall.”
You rub a hand over your bump, wincing as you adjust yourself in the chair.
Tyler noticing your discomfort, immediately is at your side, full of worry, “It’s not time yet-”
“No no,” You laugh, “Just some discomfort. I’m fine.”
He visibly relaxes, “He can’t come early. There’s way too much to do around here.”
You roll your eyes, “It also could be a she.” You and him agreed to wait until the birth to find out the sex. He was convinced it’s a boy.
“Daddy instincts.” He gets on his knees in front of you, hands on your stomach, “It’s a boy. I know it.” He flashes his pearly white smile at you. “a baby boy tornado wrangler.”
“I think it’s gonna be a girl.” You shrug, “mommy instincts.”
“We’re gonna prove your mommy wrong,” He says to your belly, “Right off the bat, you and I. I’ll finally be right on something.”
Of course, the baby kicks at the sound of Tyler’s voice. Tyler grins, “See, he agrees.”
“You’re screwed.” You whisper softly to Tyler. After hours of labor, you and Tyler finally welcomed your baby into the world. He’s seated in the rocking chair next to your bed, his bundle of joy wrapped softly in a blanket. --- a pink blanket.
“There’s two of us now. You’ll never stand a chance.” You reach over and caress his arm.
He looks at you with tear-filled eyes, “She’s only a couple hours old and she’s already got me wrapped around her finger. She could ask me for anything and I’m going to give it to her.”
“Like I said,” you say with a smile, “you’re screwed.”

chris x fem¡younger reader ( like 1-2 years younger) he just babies her the whole time, and is very protective of her.
SWEET RELIEF.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀chris sturniolo × fem!reader.
warnings: fluff, nsfw, cursing, sickness, angst (a lit bit).
synopsis: Chris dates a girl who's two years younger than he. Chris is 21 and the reader is 19.
Tumblr media
— Chris and Y/N relationship are public, but they keep private.
Chris never hide his relationship with Y/N, but they never made any hard launch in the social medias, because Chris didn't want his fans to being mean with her. Y/N is only 19, Chris knows how evil people on internet can be and he doesn't want his girlfriend to suffer with this.
But sometimes he can't stop this, but he can make her feel better with his love.
"Hey, gorgeous." Chris said, he found his girlfriend on their bed. He was out with his brothers, recording a video and Y/N stay home waiting for Chris, so they could sleep together.
"Hi, I couldn't sleep without you." She replied, Y/N looks a upset, Chris could notice. Y/N gave him a sad smile, he frow his eyebrows and sit in the corner of the bed. Chris extends his hand to Y/N, holding hers.
"What happened, baby?" He asked, Y/N low her eyes and let go Chris' hand. She rubbed her own arms, Y/N knows she couldn't hide from her boyfriend. "Tell me what's wrong."
"Why you with me?" Y/N looked at Chris, the boy frowned his eyebrows doesn't understanding why she were asking this.
While she was waiting for Chris, she spent time scrolling her 'for you' page on TikTok and saw some comments about her. People were saying she wasn't right for Chris, because he needs to stay with a woman of his age, calling her childish and annoying. Then, she couldn't stop thinking about this, maybe Chris really needs someone who's not two years younger.
"Why are you asking this, baby?" Chris asked, he sat by her side and pulled her to his lap. He let kisses all over her face, making her giggle because of his beard. "I'm with you, because I love you so much."
"And I love you too, but–" Chris cuts her off.
"Why are you asking this? You didn't answer me." Chris hugged her shoulders, Y/N lay her head on the crook of Chris' neck. She started to draw invisible circles on Chris' chest with her finger. "Y/N."
"I saw comments on TikTok saying that you should date a woman of your age." Y/N said sadly, Chris hugged her harder and kissed her forehead. "They said I'm childish and annoying and–"
"I don't want to hear these lies about you." Chris held Y/N's chin to make her look at him. "None of these people knows you as much as me and I don't fucking care about what they think about our relationship. You're my girlfriend, I want you and only you." He kissed her lips.
"I love you so much, you know this, right?" She smiled, Chris nods his head smiling too. "I just. . . I don't want to care about it, but sometimes I can't help it."
"I know, It's hard, baby, but these people are trolls who want to make you feel bad for being you." Chris pulled her to his chest, Y/N embrace his waist, laying her head on his chest. "Don't worry about it, I'm gonna make sure they'll know I'm not gonna tolerate these comments."
And he did. After Y/N fall asleep on Chris lap, he posted a note on his Instagram story. He wrote he would not tolerate mean comments about his girlfriend, because it's anyone business who he dates. He protects his girlfriend all coast, you can say he babies her all the time and protects from everything, but he didn't care and so Y/N.
— Y/N's mad at Chris, because he wants to protect her from everything.
"Stop babying me all the time!" Y/N said angry. She was getting ready to hang out with her friends, friends who Chris doesn't like, because he thinks they are a bad influence to Y/N.
"Well, you didn't seem to care until now." Chris rolled his eyes, he sat on his bed and crossed his arms on his chest. He was trying to stop Y/N from going to a party with them, but she was being stubborn. "Come on, baby."
"No! I want to go out tonight, they're my friends, Chris." She groans, hitting the sink with her hands. Even though she didn't care when Chris babies her, now he's acting like she's a kid. "It's just a party, Chris."
"Oh, these friends? You mean the guy who got arrested? You told me, don't remember?"
"Jeez, Chris. It was a misunderstanding." She got out of the bathroom. Y/N was wearing a tiny dress, make up and hair ready, Chris thinks she looked gorgeous, but he didn't trust in other guys. Chris got up and held Y/N's shoulders.
"You want to go out? We can go, but I don't trust these people."
"Chris, why don't you trust me? I can take care of myself, damn."
"Did I say that I do not trust you?" Y/N rolled her eyes. "Fine, I gave up. Go hang out with them, but don't call me when you get in trouble because of them."
Y/N groans angry, she got her purse and phone and stormed out of the room. Chris followed her until the door, he watched her walk to her friend car, he knows she will end up calling him, but if she wants to know by her own, he will let her do.
"Oh, how would you get into a party? You're not twenty-one yet, they would not let you in." He said sassy.
"Fuck you, Chris!"
He was right, he always is. Chris waits for Y/N call, because he knew she would call at some point. It was almost nine in when Y/N call, only an hour after she leaves. Chris answered quickly, even though he was mad with her, he still worried.
"I told you, didn't I?" Chris said.
"They left me here." She cried. "They got in the club without me after the security said I couldn't get in, they just said sorry and left me."
"I tried to warn you, Y/N. I told you they wouldn't let you in." Chris sighed, he got off the couch and catch the car keys. "Send me your location, I'll get you."
"I'm sorry, Chris." She sobs.
"I know, baby. Now, send me your location, okay? I'm gonna bring you home."
Y/N send Chris her location and he drive until her. She was sitting on the highway with tears on her face, Chris parked and opened the window, Y/N get in the car in silence. She sniffed, Y/N cleaned her tears and the mascara of her face, Chris tugged his hoodie off and gave to his girlfriend.
"Now you understand why I didn't want you to go out with them? They left like you were nothing."
"I know." She whispered, putting on his hoodie. "I'm sorry, I should've listened to you."
"Baby, when I do these things it's not because I don't trust you, it's because I don't trust them." Chris said, he started to drive back home. "I'm sorry if you don't like when I baby you, but it's because I love you."
"It's not this, I just feel like you were treating me like I'm a kid."
"I'm sorry, you know I didn't mean." He stopped at the red lights, Chris rubbed Y/N's tight. She held his hand and kissed the back. "I'm gonna try to not baby you too much."
"No, I like when you baby me." She crossed her arms on her chest, Chris giggled. "Just don't treat me like I'm a kid."
"I will not, not anymore." Chris smiled and gave a peck on her lips. "In 'n Out?"
"Please, I'm starving!"
— "You don't have to carry me everywhere, Chris!"
Chris loves to carry Y/N everywhere. They arrived home? Chris has to carry his girlfriend inside. Arrived in a hotel in the middle of the night during the tour? Chris carried Y/N until their room while she sleep. Bathroom in the middle of the night? Here he goes, carrying his girl to the bathroom and waiting for her, so he could carry her back to bed.
Y/N loves too, but she can walk, but Chris insists in carry her.
"No, no, no." Chris stopped Y/N, they were watching a movie in the living room. "Where are you going?"
"I didn't sleep too much last night, gonna have a nap."
"Then, let's have a nap." Chris turns off the TV, he gets up the couch and holds his girlfriend in a bridal style.
"You don't have to carry me everywhere, Chris!" Y/N giggled, holding Chris' neck. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, rubbing her nose there.
"But I can, so why not?"
Chris carried Y/N to their room, he lay her in the bed and covered with the blanket. Chris turns the lights off and lays by her side, Y/N hugged Chris' neck with her arm and embrace his waist with her leg.
"Just lay on me." He chuckled. Y/N yawn and climb Chris' body, he holds her and let her sleep on he.
— If he babies Y/N all the time, when she got sick it's even worse.
"100.4° F (38° C), damn." Chris said looking at the thermometer visor. Y/N was acting weird the whole day, Chris thought she was getting sick, but she insisted she were okay.
Until now. They got home after the day shopping, Y/N passed out in the bed for two hours until Chris comes to check on her. He knows she was sick, but for some stupid reason she was acting like not.
"It's not that bad." She complained.
"Oh, yeah. A higher fever is not that bad, Y/N." He said being sarcastic, she sighed. Chris helped her to sit, he tugged her hair from her face. "Open your mouth." Chris said holding a pill.
"I don't need this." She frowned her nose, but the look Chris gave to her made her open her mouth. Chris put the pill on her tongue and gave her water to swallow. "Thanks, baby."
"Rest and I'll make you a soup, okay?" He kissed her forehead.
"You don't know how to cook." She giggled laying down.
"I'll figure it out."
She was right, Chris doesn't know how to cook, so he had to ask Nick to do it. After the soup is ready, Chris put in a bowl to Y/N and goes to his room. She wasn't sleeping anymore, Y/N was watching TV with her body all covered by the blankets. Chris smiled at her while he closed the door.
"You cold?"
"A bit, probably because of the fever, but I'll feel better if you lay here with me."
"I bring you soup." He put the bowl in the nightstand and sat in the bed, Y/N sat too with Chris help.
"Who made it?" She jokes. Chris rolled his eyes getting the bowl back, Y/N tried to hold, but Chris didn't let her. "Why? You gonna feed me?"
"Of course I will." Chris said and Y/N didn't complain. The boy gave her a few spoons of the soup until she felt filled.
She fell asleep again on Chris' shoulder, feeling too tired to stay awake. Chris held her the hold night and the whole day after until she felt better.
— Always gentle with her while they are having sex.
"Tell me if you want me to stop, okay?" He said looking at his girlfriend laying down in bed, he was on top of her, ready to be inside of her. Y/N nodded. "Words, baby. I need words."
"Yes, I'll use our safe word." Y/N said breathing hard, she was needing Chris so hard. "Please, Chris. I need you."
"I'll be gentle with you."
"You always are."
Then, Y/N was moaning Chris' name loudly while he push his cook in Y/N's pussy. His slow movements, catching every reaction of his girlfriend. He keeps kissing her face and saying lovely words to her. Chris let her come as soon as she needed, because he didn't want his girlfriend to suffer. Her loud moan was music to his ears, he didn't take too much to come inside her.
— Aftercare always, everything to his girlfriend.
"Sure you okay? Did I take it too rough with you?" Chris asked, rubbing her tights with his nose, his beard tickling her sensitive skin.
"You're always gentle with me, baby." She smiled lazily, Chris nodded. He tugged his T-shirt from the floor and used it to clean her tights, giving pecks in her skin. She yawn.
"I'm gonna run us a bath, so we can sleep, okay?" He kissed her lips and then the forehead, she nodded.
Chris filled the bathtub and put all of Y/N bath products, he carried her until the bathroom and get in the water with her. Chris washed her hair and her body, giving kisses on her pretty skin, giving all the pleasure that she deserves.
Then, he carried Y/N back to the bed, Chris lay lazy by her side. She smiled at him, slowly closing her eyes. Chris held her waist and laid his head on her tits, slowly getting asleep too.

Rin
He's not fan of it
I guess he adapted to it quickly, you being bring on a lot the first few weeks and things like that
But he's so tensed about it you have to calm him down a lot at first
He's upset all the time You have to remind him that's it's not only a bad things
And that people's reactions has been relatively good, that's already a good point
He's more worried about you obviously but in the end you're the one taking care of him
He feels a bit bad but yeah, he appreciates it a lot
Don't expect a lot of changes tho, he doesn't want his love life all over the internet
Sae
He's annoyed when the press found out, to say the least
He wish it could've stay private and doesn't want people to be after you
He hates the fact that he's ask about it now and has to be even more cold in interview than before
He tries to be unbothered but knowing how it changed your life it's impossible
Behind closed door at first he can spend a lot of time with you so make it up
He's famous so I think people tried to know more about you and invade your personal space
I don't think it necessarily goes wrong on social media, it's just trending a lot for a few days
You have to moderate your account a lot cause there's always hater
He still doesn't talk about you bc you asked him to
but he feel less pressure if some pictures of you two end up in the internet
Kaiser
He's ANGRY
Don't get it wrong, he thought about revealing your relationship a few times and you were still talking about it
But this happening without his consent or yours drive him crazy at first
Yet on camera he's cocky about it, telling he doesn't mind and rumbling about how gorgeous you are
He takes the opportunity as it is and posy about you more on his social media, without hiding you so much
He has his lawer ready to anyone spitting shit at you on social media tho
Don't mess with his s/o, he'll take actions
Isagi
He's lost poor guy
If you cry about it he does his absolute best to comfort you before contacting his agent to see what he can do
Honestly He's use to it but if you're not used to the fame, he's careful so your anxiety don't go crazy
He's sad if that change your life a lot but he does his best to not change a thing in your routine
The good point is that, like Kaiser, he can pray a lot more with you than before and he's really happy about it !!
He likes to share with people I think so it open a lot of doors
Karasu
He acts cool in front of the camera but he's annoyed
It was early in your relationship and he's scared it's gonna fucked it up
You have to be the one comforting him
You're not the type to make promises if you're not sure of yourself, but you assure him that the press and people finding out didn't scared you
You'll stay with him as long as possible, you don't see yourself leaving because of this
He's probably needed this more than he would've admit cause after this, being on camera is easier again
He's not upset anymore if they ask about you since you gave him a green light
He feels even lighter than before, in fact

MILES MORALES who sneaks you into the locker room just to get some extra time with you.
"I'm going to get in trouble." "Ma chill, the boys aren't even here." "But-" "No buts, I wanna spend some time with my girl before I whoop some niggas asses on the court."
MILES MORALES who gets upset if he sees other guys/players approach you at his game.
“What did he say to you baby?” “He just wanted his water bottle that was beside me.” “Nah, he was tryin’ start something with you.”
MILES MORALES who will go all out and play more aggressively if he knows you'll be there.
MILES MORALES who lets you know if he's at practice so you don't think he's ignoring your texts and calls.
MILES MORALES who makes a shot and says “this one’s for my girl” which most of the time goes in. However, if he misses, his whole team will clown/tease him for it.
“How you gon’ airball in front of y/n man? Straight embarrassing.” “Nigga shut up, I had that on lock.” “Clearly you didn't.”

Being MILES MORALES girlfriend wasn't easy, a lot of the girls envied or despised you, wishing it was them in your place.
MILES MORALES is never afraid of showing affection towards you in front of a large crowd. This involves kissing, hugging, exchanging small glances and pointing at you when he makes a shot.
MILES MORALES who likes receiving massages to help him unwind and relax after an intense game. Nonetheless, it usually ends in a makeout session due to him not being able to resist you.
“I thought you wanted a massage.” “I did but it aint' enough.” “So what is?” “Kissing you mami.”
MILES MORALES can be a sore loser if he doesn't win a game. If his team gets defeated, he will most likely go see you straight after because you're the only person that can properly comfort him.
MILES MORALES who likes to take you to the basketball court late at night. Instead of a traditional dinner or movie date, you often find yourselves shooting hoops or playing one-on-one games together.
MILES MORALES who likes to talk/think about the future with you.
“When I make it pro, you don't gotta worry bout a thing anymore.” “What do you mean?” “I’m gonna take care of you baby. Anything you want, it's yours.”

saw you had asks open, not a drawing request but wanted to know if there was any more story to your human bill’s punishment-for-weirdmageddon-is-to-turn-weak-human au, I really like it (sorry if you explained this a while back, I only just watched gravity falls😭I’m a late-comer to the fandom)
it’s just superepiccool to me, how are dipper and mabel about him being human now? Soos n Wendy, Stan and Ford? What was it like for them (especially Ford) when he just turned human? What was it like for Bill?
oh hey don't worry, I haven't really talked much about the details of the AU like ... ever. I just started reviving it because I got my partner into the show (they are also a new fan! yay, new fans! Funny enough I had no idea TBOB was coming out so the timing was mad exquisite.) and they have just been an amazing help shaping my messy thoughts and coming up with new, fun plots! It's also nice to know there's someone out there interested in it, so thank's for asking! Now that I read TBOB I want to change the premise a bit, but the core is still the same.
Let me tell you this AU is silly. I'm aware Billford is toxic and there are many corners to dive into to picture their messy relationship. But I kinda wanna keep the spirit of the show here and make it equally as fun as it is disturbing. Given that Bill canonically is trapped in endless Therapy gives me even more food to work with, he just out there being toxic and people repeatedly telling him to cut it out.
Tumblr media
I'm not gonna go into too much detail because I'm actually working on the first comic chapter for this AU, but regarding the characters: Each of the Pines, as well as Wendy and Soos, are not happy seeing him, but individually grow more accustomed to him and with him. I guess going from "most accepting" to "least accepting", Mabel took it the best. I wouldn't say she was quick to forgive, but quick enough to give the guy a chance. And I honestly have to say that, although this is 100% a Billford AU, there's so many plot ideas for just Mabel and Bill and their amazing, chaotic shenanigans. Put these two together and the stories basically write themselves. Wendy is pretty similar, and the most chill in actually helping Bill figure out human stuff.
Naturally, Ford took it the hardest. I'm aiming for slowburn here, haha. They got to figure out some stuff that I'm so ready to put onto pages... Ford is a lot of emotions. Confused, angered, curious... Meanwhile Stan is Bills biggest hater. (There is a lot of bullying in this AU) He just keeps up with it because his Family makes him. He's very protective and tries to kick Bill out several times. Soos sticks with Stan, but he's also Soos and has a big heart, so in Bills eye, he's very gullible and a target he can mess with easily.
Dipper is not a fan either, he has a hard time adjusting to the triangle just getting to ... be there. He's suspicious for the most part and Bill has to try hard to get on his good side. But honestly he might be more upset with Mabel (and later on Wendy) for making friends with Bill so easily, even though he knows that's just their nature. I just recently started thinking about Gideon and how I'd like to include him, but nothing worth mentioning so far yet.
With Bill himself, one my favorite parts trying to portray so far is how he's dealing with his new mortality. He adjusts to the body fine, he knows how to navigate flesh, but he has a hard time accepting that it's his body. His new prison, essentially. If it's gone, he's gone. If he treat's it like shit, he feels like shit. Then we add the psychological aspect of things. And more importantly, we add Ford to the equation. When I tell you, that demon is experiencing psychological damage here, and it's fully his fault. TBOB really pointed out to me that I need to dive into his obsession with Ford. How do you even get a man you fumbled so bad, to even acknowledge you again?
I love yapping about this AU, thanks again for giving me the grounds to do so anon! I'm an insecure writer so it'll probably take another hot minute to choose which script feels best to draw out, haha. But I'm glad you seem to be up for the ride!!

Tumblr media
constantly laughing but also concerned at how you manage to trip and bump and bruise yourself up on literal air
in apocalypse au, she's always been very aware of her surroundings bc of patrol and combat and stuff so she tries to keep you out of the way of things that she knows you'll bump into
always has an ice pack chilled and ready to go in the freezer in case you bump yourself real hard and it's sore because ice helps bumps not bruise right when you get them (looking at you guys clumsy ladies write that one down)
always warns you about things right as they're happening since you get into things SO FAST
like just as you're bumping into something or dropping an item she's blurting out, "wait! there's- a shirt on the floor"/"remember- that the washing machine door is open"/"baby, you're gonna drop that- just... like you did just now. you okay?"
always asks what you did to get a new bruise. she'll notice a new one and joke, "oh, what did you do this time?" and you'll respond, "i may have walked into the dishwasher while the door was down... but this one doesn't hurt that bad 😁" it's become like a little game
she's become sooo desensitized to any bump or bang sound in the house bc she knows its just you. not to say she doesn't care about you getting hurt--she immediately throws out a "you good?!" or "you need me?"--she just knows you know what to do: ice pack or heat compress. it's routine now.
read that low vitamin c levels make you bruise easily, so always has vitamin c rich snacks stocked up. oranges and strawberries and other fruits, always ready!
she's so stupid in love that she'll cut the fruits up into hearts or try nd make the most simple little animals with them from some mother of 3's tutorial on instagram reels and genuinely gets upset when she can't recreate them.
^ like you notice her absolutely maiming some apples and ask, "ummm why are you slicing and dicing that poor apple?" and she'll mumble, "it's supposed to be a stupid crab."
and for my ladies with darker skin where bruises aren't as visible or even just pale skin that just doesn't bruise easily, she's still just as concerned. and since there is no visible warning of a sore spot, she's hurriedly apologizing after pressing on a sore spot or laying on a tender patch.

“I’m gonna get you back.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paring: Ex BF Logan Howlett x F!Reader
Summary: The thing about love is that it’s blinding. You never realize how poisonous it is until it’s already stuck its fangs into you.
Logan Howlett was the embodiment of everything you’ve ever loved. And you were the air that the man breathed. But hurt people hurt people.
Everyone knew how much pain you two cause each other, but everyone also knew how much the two of you needed each other — even when you two couldn’t see your future. You would always come back to one another.
Warnings: Toxic Relationships, mentions of death.
Taglist: Just ask to be added.
A/N: Inspired by Taylor Swift — “Imgonnagetyouback”
I could hear the engine of the bike pulling into the school. It could be only one person, the man that stole Scott’s bike, and my heart.
I saw Rouge jump up out of her spot on the couch and run to the door, greeting the man that walked through like he owned the place.
Logan fucking Howlett.
I had told myself that I hated him, that I was over him — but the ache in my chest told me all I needed to know. I had still loved him.
I watched the man leave the X-Men basement, the Wolverine. It was remarkable that he was still alive according to Scott.
“Hey solider.” His attention snapped to me and away from the kids running down the stairs. He took a step to me, looking ready to snap my neck but I just held my hands up in surrender.
“Follow me. I’ll take you to the boss of this place.” I dropped my hands, and waited for him to give the okay. “Who are you.”
“I’m Y/N. You?” I already knew his name, but it was still nice to hear him say it. “Logan.”
I snapped out of my day dream, and hurried to get out of the common area before he decided to make his way over.
“Get to the jet, new mission.”
The professors voice drifted inside my brain, and I was so glad I would be gone while Logan was here.
Rushing down to the basement I hurried into my suit, and walked onto the jet only to be met with the same man I was wanting to avoid.
I kept my gaze to the ground and silently clicked my self in. Not looking his — knowing it would hurt to much.
Jean and Scott loaded onto the jet too, and while they gave us a brief run down on the mission I zoned out, reliving the past.
“I just don’t think he likes me like that. I mean I’ve dropped hints after hints.” I explained to Ororo and Jean. I was doing on of my many rants about Logan. I had come to grow affectionate of him and the despite them trying to encourage my delusions, it wasn’t working.
At some point I just have to accept the facts. Fact is despite how much I wish it I just don’t see Logan Howlett liking me — instead I was convinced he liked Jean. Though I kept that part to myself.
“Why don’t you tell Logan how you feel?” Storm asked and I couldn’t help the sarcasm rolling out of my mouth.
“And what would I say? Hey Logan, I really really like you. Like in a very much romantic way and I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you, and I can’t even talk to you without my brain turning into a fucking kebab because I’m probably fucking insane. Let’s grab dinner sometime.”
I let out a sigh and felt a headache forming. Though that was washed away by the look of worry on Jean and Ororo faces. “Everything okay?”
“You what?” Pure dread washed over my body at the sound of the voice haunting my dreams. The deep rugged voice that always made me feel alive. I slowly looked over my shoulder to the wolverine.
And instead of being a big girl and dealing with my problems I bolted out of the kitchen and into the hall.
Hot on my heels Logan pulled my arm back and trapped me up against the hallway wall. “In a rush?” I had expected him to be upset, mad, or even regretful but instead all I saw on his face was amusement. “I must say I’m flattered.”
My breath hitched as he leaned his head down to the shell of my ear, whispering. “A pretty girl like you having feeling for me? Dream come true.” His breath fanned over my face — and I could feel my cheeks warming.
“So you’re not mad?” Hint of insecurity ran through my voice. “Quite the opposite. I like you too, pretty girl.”
A warmth spread through my chest — not just of relief but of a caring and calm feeling that felt so ever rushing.
“So wanna grab dinner sometime?”
A hand on my shoulder snapped me out of my day dream. Looking over the man who was the center of my thought stood there. He even had the audacity to smile at me. “We’re here.”
I unbuckled my seat, standing as fast as I could so I could get away from him. However that only made me dizzy and stumble — right into his arms.
“Easy there, pretty girl.” I started to push myself away but his grip on me tightened. And a look of seriousness washed over his face. “I missed you, you know?” I could have sworn uncertainty or more like insecurity wavers his voice. But I must’ve imagined it — after all Logan Howlett doesn’t do ‘this’.
I pushed away from his chest harder, “you walked away.” With that I brushed past him and made my way outside with the others.
“Looks like it’s really over this time.” Ororo voice washed through my head, and I looked over at her. “We weren’t ever right for each other.” Is all I told her — even if the words pained me to say it was the truth I’ve come to believe.
“Why are you with me when all you want is her?!” I asked, anger and hurt roughing my voice as tears fell down my cheeks.
“And why can’t you just drop it?!” I don’t know who started yelling first, but it’s been hours. Logan was calling out for Jean with such a loving voice in his sleep, it made me nauseous. He never held that much care for me in his voice — he never loved me like her.
“You’re not even denying it!” He wasn’t even trying to justify or explain it to me. He just expected me to roll over and forget about it like I was some dog.
He walked grabbed his jacket and walked to the door. “Where are you going?!” I asked him, it was late and I didn’t want him leaving the mansion. “Out, god I have to get away from you. I’m done with this. We’re done.”
We were in fact not done. He came back apologized the it happened all over again. Like a cycle on repeat. We’d have a nasty fight — break up, then it repeat. Until I finally had enough courage to end it completely, it really I guess Logan ended it, I just didn’t go after him.
“We should all split up. Find all the works, guards, and kids.” We were in a mutant trafficking ring. And even though this place appeared empty, we’d be sure to run into trouble at some point.
“Jean your with me, Ororo with Logan. Y/N you good on your own?” I gave Scott a confirming nod and we all went in different directions.
The halls were quiet too quiet. I could see, hear, or find another kid but as I walked further down I did hear ticking. It was faint but as i opened another door the ticking was louder and it was ten times faster.
Before I could scream all I heard was a loud bam as I focused my power on absorbing the energy of the bomb. Though just when I thought I had it under control a burning sensation filled my body inside out and I felt my self slam against a wall — blacking out.
Logan POV
We walked the only people we could find out side the base, meeting up with Scott and Jean. They found the kids and instead of a “mission accomplished” the two of them had a worried look on their face.
“Can any of y’all get in contact with Y/N.”
That was a sentence that changed my life. It was like a chain reaction. Cause right after that a big explosion came from the left side of the base.
Y/N.
I didn’t think nor wait before running right back I , right to the explosion, right to her.
Dammit I knew not to let her go off by herself. I know she didn’t want to talk to me, I know she was still mad at me — that’s why I let her go off. I should have trusted my instincts. I should have never left her, and not just this time.
The place was on fire, and I could see rubbles everywhere, but I couldn’t see her. I made my way over to the brunt of the explosion and I felt sick when I saw her laying there.
She was still so still, and I felt myself stubble to the ground. I brushed a strand of her hair out of her beautiful face — carful to be gentle.
“Y…Y/N?” I felt my breathing become irradiated as my voice broke. I could feel the tears began to form, but I swallowed whatever self pity I had, and picked her up.
“I got you, I got you honey. Come on — let’s go home, pretty girl.”
I walked over blacked rubble — and carried her out and onto the jet. Never letting go of her even when Jean was doing everything she can right stabilize her.
I wanted to tell her that I was home for good. That I’m better now — that I’m right for her. That I’m a good guy, the guy she deserves.
I made do many mistakes, and all I want to do is make them right. So I can be with her. I know our relationship isn’t something you can immediately fix, but I want to fix it. And fuck I might no longer be able too.
Your POV
I watched, my vision blurred with tears as Logan put the last of the things he needed in his bag.
“Logan.” I hugged his back as he zipped up his bag. My voice trembled, and I bit my lip for a moment before continuing. “Please don’t go. I need you — I love you.” It was silent between us, and we stayed like that for an extra moment before he removed my hands and made his way out our bedroom door.
I followed after him, dread all throughout my body and soul. “Please don’t walk away.” I begged.
He opened the entrance door, and he stood still for a moment.
“If you walk out that door don’t expect me to just be waiting for you. You walk away and I won’t be here withering away waiting for you to return. This is the time to choose — if you want me, us.”
He didn’t say anything, he just walked out.
Beeping filled my ears, before I slowly opened my eyes. My mouth felt dry — and I tried to sit, only causing a wave of pain throughout my body.
“Might want to take it slow, Y/N.” I heard the professor say causing me to look over to him. I went to lift my hand — to rub the tiredness away, but I felt someone holding it.
I looked to my side to find Logan sleeping with his head on my bed, while he held my hand tightly.
The door opened and the entire team walked into the room, a smile across their faces. “You’re awake.” Scott pointed out the ever so obvious, while Jean checked my vitals and Ororo hugged me lightly.
I heard a deep groan coming from Logan before he started to wake himself up.
It took him a moment to process I was actually awake before he jumped up out his chair and started to become a worried mother.
“Are you okay? You in pain?” At the reminder of the pain I shifted uncomfortably. “You snore.” Is all I told him before I tried to get up.
“Lay back down, Y/N.” Doing as told I listened to the professor talk. “That explosion was to wipe out the entire base. You absorbed quite a bit of energy from that bomb, and when it became to much you essentially started to pop like ballon. You’re quite lucky to be alive.”
“Thanks professor.”
Just then everyone besides Logan started to leave the room, leaving just me and him. And all the complicated emotions.
“You scared me.” He was the first one to speak, his voice was quiet, trying to lead the conversation a gentle as possible. However nothing about us is gentle.
“Good.” It’s all I said, but I wanted to scream at him — about how scared I was when he crushed my heart.
“I’m sorry, god I’m so sorry. Not just for leaving, but for all the fights, the yelling, all of it. I didn’t treat you like you deserved, and I hate myself for it.” He breathed his shakily before continuing. “I’m not the most gentle man, I’m a solider, and I wish I could’ve been better for you sooner.”
I closed my eyes, not wanting him to see how much he had affected me. “You say ‘sooner’ as if you’re the good guy now.”
“I can be, I just need another chance.” Pleads entered his tone as he grabbed my hand again. “I love you, and I’m sorry I’m so fucked up. I will be better — I am better now.”
I kept quiet not knowing what to say, and after a moment he spoke up again.
“I left so I could become a better man for you. Went on this whole journey, on why I am the way I am. On why I always need to fight, and can’t ever listen. You needed better, and baby I couldn’t give it to you the way I was. That’s why I left — and I didn’t tell you because I knew you would convince me you were happy as we were. But you weren’t.”
“I swear this to you. I’m gonna get you back, and when I do — I’ll be so fucking good. I’ll be the good guy.”
I looked over to him, and to my surprise his eyes were watering. And his lip trembled while he bit it.
“I can’t just give you another chance, when I have no idea if things between us will ever be good. I told you if you left me I wouldn’t wither away waiting for you, and then you walked out. I can’t just give you another chance.” Despite how much I want too.
He was quiet for a moment, as he kissed my forehead, and then kissed the back of my hand.
“I’ll prove to you that we’re meant for each other, I promise you Imma get you back.”
After you were finally healed you were welcomed back into your room with flowers waiting at your door, with it just a card with a note saying.
“I love you.”
And maybe, just maybe you and Logan were finally right for each other at the right time.
He went on to prove that for the rest of your life, he truly did become better. Everyone could see it.
Logan Howlett M.List, Navigation — other works!
A/N: I won’t lie — I had such a longer fic written about Logan’s and your journey on both of you becoming better, but it deleted. So this is the shortened version.

I need part 2 of Toto Wolff with wife of Unscripted Moments!!! 😩
A guide to modern slang
Word count: 1k
Pairing: Toto Wolff x wife!reader, feat. Jack
Summary: After the overwhelming success of their first video, the Wolff family returns with a new challenge to meet fan demand. In this follow-up, Toto Wolff tackles Gen Z slang
________________________________________________________
The Mercedes-AMG Petronas studio was buzzing with excitement, and the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Ever since the “This or That” video featuring Toto Wolff, his much younger wife (you), and their five-year-old son, Jack, had gone viral, fans were hooked. They loved the unexpected glimpse into the Wolff family's life, the humor, and the sweet dynamic between the three of you. Now, the team had another video idea that promised to deliver even more fun.
“Alright, folks, cameras rolling in three… two… one!” called out the crew member. You settled into your seat, sharing a quick smile with Toto, who, despite his normally composed demeanor, looked genuinely amused. Jack sat between you, his legs swinging under his stool as he grinned at the camera, bursting with excitement to be the star again.
“Hey, everyone!” you greeted with a warm smile. “After all the love we got for our last video, we decided to come back and do something a little different today. We’re doing a ‘Word Association Challenge’—but with a twist! Jack is going to give Daddy some words, and Toto has to say what he thinks they mean. Easy, right?”
Jack giggled, nodding eagerly. “Yeah! I’m gonna give Daddy the words!”
Toto chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “Are you sure you’re ready for this, Jack?” he teased, giving his son a playful look.
Jack beamed, but then leaned over to you, whispering, “Mama, I can’t read the words yet.”
You smiled softly, nodding. “Don’t worry, love. I’ll whisper the words to you, and then you can tell them to Daddy, okay?”
Jack nodded, his confidence instantly returning. “Okay, I’m ready!”
You leaned in and whispered the first word into Jack’s ear. “Alright, tell Daddy the word is ‘drip.’”
Jack turned to Toto with an important expression on his face. “Daddy, the word is… ‘drip!’”
Toto’s brows knitted together, trying to piece it together. “Drip? Like when something is leaking? Water dripping?” he guessed, looking between you and Jack for some indication of whether he was on the right track.
Jack covered his mouth, his laughter bubbling over. “No, Daddy, it’s not about water!”
You laughed and chimed in, “No, ‘drip’ means having a really cool or stylish outfit. Like, ‘Check out his drip’ means someone is dressed really well.”
Toto’s expression turned thoughtful as he considered this. “So, if I say, ‘Lewis has some serious drip in the paddock today,’ would that be correct?”
Jack clapped his hands together, nodding enthusiastically. “Yes, Daddy! You got it right!”
The crew chuckled, and you gave Toto a little nudge. “See, you’re getting it! You’ve got some ‘drip’ yourself,” you teased, tugging at the collar of his sharp, tailored suit.
Toto chuckled softly, looking down at his outfit. “Well, I’ll take that as a compliment,” he said, his smile growing.
You leaned in to Jack again, whispering the next word. “Okay, buddy, this one’s ‘salty.’”
Jack turned to Toto, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Daddy, the word is… ‘salty!’”
Toto squinted a bit, deep in thought. “Salty… Is it like when someone is annoyed or grumpy?” he ventured, a small smile playing on his lips as he looked at you for confirmation.
Jack’s eyes widened in surprise, and he gave a little jump. “Yes, Daddy, that’s it! It means someone’s being, like, grumpy or upset about something!”
You laughed and clapped along. “Look at you, two for two! I guess you’ve been around enough ‘salty’ engineers on bad race weekends to pick that one up,” you teased.
Toto smirked and nodded. “Yes, we’ve had our fair share of salty moments,” he agreed, leaning back in his chair.
Jack was practically bouncing with excitement now. “Okay, next one, Mama!”
You leaned in, whispering the next word in his ear. “Alright, tell Daddy the word is ‘simp.’”
Jack looked at Toto, his little face scrunched up in concentration. “Daddy, the word is… ‘simp.’”
Toto’s brow furrowed as he tried to decode the term. “Simp? Does it mean someone who is simple-minded or not very smart?” he asked, his confusion clear.
Jack giggled, shaking his head. “No, Daddy! It means someone who’s, like, really, really nice to someone they like or want to impress. Like, they do everything for them.”
You chuckled, watching Toto’s face as he processed this new information. “It’s like when someone is super sweet to their crush and does whatever they want,” you explained. “Or when you go out of your way to bring me coffee in the mornings because you know I love it. That’s you being a bit of a ‘simp.’”
Toto’s smile widened, and he gave a mock-offended gasp. “Well, if that’s what it means, then I’m quite happy to be called a ‘simp’ for you,” he said, leaning over to kiss your cheek, causing Jack to make a face and the crew to chuckle.
Jack jumped up and down, thrilled with his father’s progress. “You’re doing good, Daddy! One more, Mama!”
You leaned in close, whispering the final word. “Okay, buddy, the last word is ‘extra.’”
Jack turned to Toto, his expression very serious for this last round. “Daddy, the word is… ‘extra!’”
Toto sat back, a thoughtful look crossing his face. “Extra… Does it mean someone is doing too much? Being overly dramatic or enthusiastic?”
Jack’s eyes went wide with amazement. “Yes, Daddy! That’s right! It’s like when someone is just… too much!”
You laughed, clapping your hands together. “Well done, Toto! You’re really starting to understand the lingo!”
Toto grinned, looking pleased with himself. “I have excellent teachers,” he said, wrapping an arm around Jack and pulling him close. “And I think Jack might be a better instructor than some of our engineers.”
Jack giggled, snuggling into his father’s side. “Yeah, I’m the best teacher!”
You turned to the camera, still grinning. “Well, there you have it, folks! Toto Wolff, mastering Gen Z slang one word at a time. Should we do more of these videos? Let us know in the comments!”
Toto gave the camera a playful wink. “Maybe next time, Jack will teach me how to use all these words in a sentence properly,” he said, clearly enjoying himself.
Jack nodded eagerly. “Yeah! We can do it again! I like this!”

“We got a suite available, Amalia?” The man, the owner of this casino, Bucky, asks as he approaches the glass counter of the hotel lobby. You barely keep up as your surroundings smear and your head spins. Everything’s happening so fast.
“Mr. Barnes,” the woman on the other side greets as she nears the slim monitor, “I think we should.” She glances at him, then your sister as she blathers drunkenly in his arms, “having a good night?”
“Oh, just some friends in the city for a night,” he lies easily, “she got a bit carried away so we’ll let her sleep it off.”
You chew your lip as you stand just behind him. Your stomach lurches as your eyes wander around the fine decor. It’s all out of your price range. Again, your brain is a beat behind.
“Doll, would you get that?” He asks as the desk agent holds out a small folder.
“Oh, yeah, er,” you rush up to take the room keys, “sorry.”
“No problem, just got my hands full,” he scoffs, “Amalia, have a good night. Hopefully you don’t get anyone too rowdy.”
“Thank you, sir, you too,” she preens after him as he heads off across the lobby.
Once more you’re on his heels as he struts toward the elevators. You catch up to him and force the frog from your throat, “uh, sir, Bucky?” You stammer, “I don’t think... I can afford--”
“Doll, don’t worry about all that. It's on the house,” he stops before the elevator and stares at the golden doors, “I’m not some sort of grifter. I offered, I’m not gonna squeeze ya. What’s the room number?”
“Er, oh,” you open the little folder, “720.”
“Right, hit the button,” he nods before him.
“Sorry,” you cringe again. You’re so behind. It must be so obvious to him how lost you are. Maybe that’s why he noticed you. He feels bad that someone so pathetic could exist.
You press the up button and the doors open. He nods you ahead of him and you step into the box. The walls are transparent and you can see outside along the river. He gets in and comes to stand parallel with you as you avoid looking through the glass.
“Seven,” he says.
You make another mousy noise and tap the button. You recoil, clutching your hands over your chest, and stare at the doors. As the elevator rises, you feel a wave of head rush, and you sway just a little. You gulp and widen your eyes.
“Not a fan of heights?” He asks as the box stops sharply and the doors ding and open.
“Not really,” you mutter.
He waits for you to exit first and you eagerly do. He follows as you look back and forth between the doors, searching out the number to match the folder. 720, right at the end. You fumble and it takes three tries to swipe the card correctly.
Finally, the door opens and you push it inward, holding it as you flatten yourself to the wall to let him through. He enters without hesitation. For a moment, you wonder what it must be like to be so sure and so comfortable in a place like this. To have this be your normal.
You let go of the door and trail him further inside. The room is huge. Not just one room, but two. The front room is closed off by a pair of doors, painted white with fine spirals etched into the wood. You flit ahead of Bucky to slide them open and reveal the bedroom. He takes your sister to the bed and lays her down as she lets out a bubbly belch.
“Sorry,” you apologise on her behalf as you hover in the door.
“She’s her own person,” he stands back, “you need anything, call down to the desk. They’ll be happy to get you whatever. Oh, and, should probably have some water ready for the morning. She’s gonna be feeling this.”
“Right,” you push your lip out then quickly fix your face, “thank you. I...”
“Checkouts at eleven but I’ll tell Amalia to mark you down for a late departure,” he comes towards you slowly.
“Oh, we won’t stay that long,” you assure him and scrape your palms together.
“Ah, you got somewhere to be? Work? Gonna be a long day after tonight.”
“No, I... I don’t...” your eyes drift to the wall. Again, you can’t help but admire the ivory paint and the crystal lamp and tall posts of the bed. “I don’t... have a job.”
“Mm, tough out there,” he says, “just gotta find the right thing, huh?”
You want to fold into nothing. This man, a millionaire at least, who owns this whole place, is telling you you’ll find something one day. Just like your mom does when you melt down over another rejection. Ugh.
“Thanks, yeah,” you take a heavy breath.
“You’re tired,” he surprises you as he caresses your sleeve, “I’m not gonna keep you up. You get some sleep, alright?”
You nod and reach to scratch your neck, shifting away from his reach. He’s so much bigger than you that for a moment your stomach is crawling, as the thought occurs of how much control he really has. Not just because of who he is.
“Good night, doll,” he purrs and brushes by you.
You stay as you are, staring at your sister, muttering to herself. Why does she have to do this? You could be sleeping in your own bed but instead you’re here, burning in shame and pity. You turn as you hear him near the door.
“Night,” you offer up.
He stops and turns back, sending you a wink, “there’s a hot tub in here so... might enjoy the room at least.”
You force a smile though your stress likely makes it more a grimace. He spins and leaves you, the door shutting with a click and releasing you to your self-reproach. You drop your head in your hands and huff. You are leaving the minute your sister wakes up. You never want to see that man again. You just pray he forgets you just as quickly as you want to forget this whole night.
🃏
You hardly sleep. Your sister’s drunken snoring keeps you from relaxing for more than twenty minutes at a time, not to mention how unsettled you are. You hate sleeping in new places but moreso you hate that even on a night out, after all the assurance that you could just enjoy yourself, that you are once more a burden for someone else.
You get up just after six. You rub your forehead as you go out into the front room and look over the amenities. There’s a fancy coffee maker with pods and a mini fridge with a glass door. You take out a bottle of water to leave by the bed for Roxie then return to figure out the coffee. You don’t often have any but your head is pounding.
You sit down and sneer at the bitterness. Did you make it right? You never liked the taste so you can’t tell. You finish the cup if only for the soothing warmth.
At seven, you get up to check on Roxie again. She’s still out like a light. Come on! You want to go.
You rinse the mug in the sink as best you can and return it to the shelf. There’s a knock on the door. You flinch and reluctantly tread down to the hall. You peep through the hole as you fix your clothing. You push down the handle slowly to greet the woman with the cart.
The golden embroidery on her white blouse marks her as an employee and she beams a smile in your direction. It’s too early for that amount of cheer. She has her hands on the cart, angling it towards the door.
“Morning, miss, breakfast, complements of Mr. Barnes,” she declares, “where can I put it?”
“Um,” you back up slowly, “inside... uh, by the table, I guess.”
She rolls the cart in and asks if you need anything else before she leaves. You shake your head. There’s more than enough there for you and Roxie. If she can even stomach any of it. You’ve seen the way she is after her nights out.
You sit and stare at the buffet of food before you. Fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs... everything and more. Just another favour to feel bad for.
As you look over it all, you notice a note, nestled between the glasses beside the pitcher of orange juice. You take it. That must be the bill. You unfold it and read the slanted capitals hand-written across the casino-branded page.
‘Good Morning, Doll,
Enjoy breakfast on me.
B. Barnes’
Under his name, is a sharp zigzag of the same black ink, a post script below.
‘PS. If you’re still looking for a job, call me.’
You nearly drop the paper. What? You stare at the digits of his phone number and slowly lower your hand to your lap. This can’t be real. Could you really work at a casino? Would you be a dealer? Or maybe you’d be more suited to a cleaner, somewhere you can be out of the way.
A long groan interrupts your inner turmoil. You fold the paper and tuck it away. It’s something. You’ll have to just figure out later what.
“Coffee,” Roxie grumbles as she appears in the doorframe, gripping her skull.
“Oh, uh, sure,” you get up and go to the machine. You grab a random pod and shove it into the top.
“Where... how’d we get here?” She sits heavily and reaches for a piece of bacon.
“Um, you... you were really drunk so...”
“How the hell did you get us a room? Wait. Did we win? Blackjack?” She bites into the greasy strip and moans. “Or... I didn’t sleep with that guy, did I?”
“Erm,” you frown, thinking for a moment before you realise she must mean that Sam guy. “No...”
You don’t explain. You don’t know how. Oh yeah, you were such a disaster that the owner noticed and didn’t kick us out. Actually, he let us stay in an overpriced suite because... you don’t know.
“He must be loaded if he’s handing out hotel rooms,” she scoffs as she continues on in her assumption. You don’t correct her. It doesn’t matter. “Coffee,” she snaps her fingers as the grind quiets.
You bring her the mug and she adds too many packets of sugar before she tastes it. You hide the paper in your cardigan pocket and search for your purse. You fish your watch out of it and put it around your wrist checking the time.
“We should head out before nine,” you say.
“Why?” She scoffs. “Ugh, what’s the bath like in this place? I could use a soak.”
“Mom’s going to be worried.”
“Nah, she knows I’ll get you back,” she waves you off and stands.
She walks slowly, rubbing her temples as she sips from the cup, and examines the hotel room. She dips into the bathroom and the light flicks on. You hear her turning the faucet and shifting things around.
You play with the zipper of your purse. You reach inside and pull out your phone. You get up to grab the key folder and enter the wifi code into your outdated model. It takes far too long to connect. You type into the search of your browser, ‘Bucky Barnes’.
Almost at once, an image of the very man who carried Roxie into this room appears. It’s familiar. You tap it and it opens up a local news story. That makes sense. He’s younger, his hair is shorter. You remember when the casino changed hands and was renovated all those years ago. It was big news.
Hm. Not just rich, famous, at least to a degree. It means he has a lot more going on than two disorderly girls at his casino. He’ll forget. You just hope you can too.
Roxie comes back in a robe and put her mug on the table, “make me another. I’m gonna try those jets.”
She spins away and you stare at her empty cup. How can she not care about anything? Does she not realise that she ruined the night? That she made a fool of both of you? No, she just sees shiny things and forgets all about her own behaviour.
Well, you’re not like her. You don’t like being a burden or asking for things or living on someone else’s affection. You look down and feel along your pocket, the slip of paper firm through the fabric. You could clean a few hotel toilets for a buck. It’s not like you have much else going on.

thunderstorms - p.s.h.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary — sunghoon is not a huge fan of thunder...
pairing — bf!sunghoon x fem!reader
genre — fluff and extremely slight angst maybe?
wc — 984
a/n — omg first post so exciting!!! i literally wrote this for my writer's craft class when i was 17 and came across it again yesterday, so i figured i might as well post it here :D idek if anyone is gonna see this but might as well just drop it lolz if u see this, i hope you like it! :-)
It was a regular day, just another Friday night spent binging stupid movies. It happened to be raining today, with the thunder outside being so loud that the coffee table in front of you shook every time it struck. You and your boyfriend were both sprawled across the couch, with Sunghoon laying in your lap while the movie flashing across the screen drowned out the noise coming from outside. As the thunder struck again, you felt Sunghoon nuzzle into you a bit more as his dark hair tickled your chin.
Weird, he’s not usually this affectionate.
Although it caught you off guard, you let him come closer.
“It’s a bit cold, don’t you think?” Sunghoon asked, his voice coming out muffled as his face was pressed against your chest. “I guess it is kind of chilly, why don’t we make some hot chocolate to warm up?” You asked with a cheeky grin. He looked up at you, his pink lips stretched into a tender smile. “Sounds good.” He then got up to start making the hot cocoa for the both of you.
While he was in the kitchen, thunder struck again. A loud shatter suddenly came from his direction, which caused you to whip your head towards him. You saw Sunghoon standing over a broken mug, glass scattered all over the floor. You quickly jumped off the couch and ran to him, cautiously avoiding the glass.
“Oh my god, Sunghoon! Are you okay? What happened?” You questioned, worry plastered all over your face. You searched his face for any emotion. Fear, shock, anger, anything that could explain what was going on, but you were met with a blank expression. Sunghoon’s deep brown orbs were unreadable as he kept staring at the broken mug until he looked up, and suddenly his eyes went back to normal.
“Oh. The mug just slipped out of my hand, nothing else.”
Not convinced, you questioned him again.
“It just slipped?” You pressed, raising your brow.
“Yes, it just slipped,” he said sternly, avoiding your eyes. He faced you with a pointed expression on his face. “Whatever Y/N, can you just help me clean this up?”
Weird, he seemed different from his usual calm self. Must be an off day, you thought, so you decided to shut your mouth and just help him clean the mess. Your hands brushed together as you carefully picked up the larger pieces of glass. Sunghoon’s hand felt cold and sweaty, and when you looked at it, you saw that it was shaking. Remembering that he felt cold earlier, you let it slide, as that was probably the cause.
Stop overreacting, you thought to yourself as you continued to pick up the shards. After cleaning the glass, you finished up the hot chocolate together and went to sit back on the couch with your freshly made hot cocoa. While making the hot chocolate, Sunghoon seemed to calm down a bit, and whatever was bothering him seemed to disappear. Pleased that he was back to his normal self, you looked at him in relief.
Then thunder struck again.
“Fuck!”
You flinched as you heard him curse loudly. His black hoodie was soaked in hot chocolate. Sunghoon placed his now half-filled mug on the table, then stood up and threw his hoodie off. With a concerned look on your face, you looked up at him, who was now clad in just a T-shirt. “It’s okay Hoon, we’ll wash it—” “No, it’s not okay!” He interrupted.
Now you’re starting to get pissed. Why is his temper so short today? Did you do something? “What is going on with you today, Sunghoon? You can tell me if you're upset with me about something, but I can’t keep tiptoeing around you—” Before you could finish your sentence, the loudest strike of thunder hit the ground, and you saw his whole body visibly flinch as his eyes widened for a second.
He’s afraid of thunder.
You promptly engulfed his larger body in an embrace as best as you could. After minutes of just holding him, you brought him back down to the couch to lay on you. “It’s okay, I’m right here.” You watched his stature start to shrink as he cuddled into you, moving further into your hold.
“Why didn’t you just tell me that you’re scared of thunder?” you asked him gently, while combing your fingers through his soft hair to calm him down. Sunghoon looked up at you with glossy eyes, then looked at the ground with a sigh.
“Because it’s stupid and I didn’t want to bother you with it. I’m an adult, I’m not supposed to be afraid of a bit of thunder.”
Your mind went blank after hearing the first sentence. It felt like someone dropped an anvil on your heart. He didn’t want to bother you? What? You held his chin to turn his face towards you and looked him in the eyes. “Listen to me. Nothing you say will ever bother me. I always want you to talk to me, and I always want to help you. But I can’t help you if you don’t talk to me. Okay?” Your serious eyes didn’t leave his teary ones the entire time you spoke to him. He slowly nodded his head. “Okay,” he answered in a broken whisper, “you’re right. I’m sorry.” “Don’t be sorry, baby. Just don’t hide it from me next time,” You pouted while poking him playfully. “I won’t, I promise,” he giggled shyly as you kept prodding at him. His soft, deep voice was like music to your ears. You scanned his features as he laughed—the way his eyes turned to crescents, his wide smile that exposes his fangs, his little dimples. He was perfection personified.
For the rest of the night, you stayed on the couch with cheesy rom-coms playing in the background, as you eventually fell asleep like that.

𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐃 | JOHN DORY
Tumblr media
request. @Striped_Scheme on wattpad Requesting a JD x Reader where they've been dating since BroZone days but he kinda just left her with no goodbye and tries to reconcile and convince them to come help and save Floyd lol ("Technically we never really broke up"☝🤓) word count. 2.2k warnings. the word fuck lol. timeline. pre-trolls trilogy, pre-trolls band together. song. baby it's cold outside with some slight alterations (tell me he wouldnt. i DAREEE you.) a/n. honestly. idea was good, but my writing was not it so apologies but love u... thanks for reading lolz... probably rushed... (i do that alot in my writing how to not rush help me) no doubt ooc characters, characters will always be ooc.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
"He's gone? What do you mean gone?"
Floyd could sense your distress. Panicked voice squeaking and your eyes darting all over the small backstage area for your boyfriend, on how exactly he could've left without you catching him.
You were in front of the stage, courtesy of being the partner of a band member, which was amazing but also granted limited viewing if they went too far back. From what you did see, the expressions were a solemn mixture of embarrassment, anger, disappointment.
You barely paid attention to the fans, who were also attempting to go in the same direction as you. Getting caught up in them took a whole lot of convincing the security.
But still, you were just at the door, and you heard him through it. Where had he gone? Was he okay? He fell from a very tall place in front of a crowd of fans, which was probably more damaging to him compared to actually getting injured—but not for you.
You watched him stumble backstage, stumble.
Baby Branch hid behind Floyd, wrapping the little leaf-sewn vest around his body, looking from his older brother to you, worried.
Where's the rest of the band?
"He just left. Everyone did. The band's..." Floyd paused, sighing, "BroZone's over."
You stood confused, your brows furrowing at his words. Over? How could they be over? This was just the start of their world tour. The band couldn't just break up over one failure.
"Over?"
They weren't that fragile, were they?
You loved all the brothers; they were like your own family, but your worries were set on only one of them for the time being.
"Did J at least say where he was going?"
Floyd nodded his head but remained unsure of what your thoughts would be on his answer. He glanced down at baby Branch, who was huddled around his leg.
"He was upset, really upset," he explained. "Said he was going to go hiking to the Neverglades... alone."
The change in your face told him everything, and he was quick to extend his hands in front of him. "But John Dory always says crazy things like that, and he never goes through with them. I'm sure he probably just went up to The Point."
That did seem like a logical explanation, and it was. Floyd may not have been the oldest, but he always had reason and logic behind his smart words.
"You're right." You were still stressed, no doubt, but that calmed your fears down. "Are you guys gonna be okay?"
Floyd spared another guilty glance at Branch and nodded, offering a soft smile and urging you to go look for your lover.
▃▃▃▃▃
The troll tree was huge, and even with its large size, it was hard to find any area that wasn't already occupied. Trolls made sure to take advantage of all their space; it was their home, and they made the most of it.
But even with every taken, there was one place that was free from everyone else.
A special spot reserved for you and your lover.
The Point.
Little knew about the spot, and those who did ensured it remained private.
Hidden in the leaves was a branch sticking out high enough to conceal the ugly Bergen town that surrounded them and gave them access to the beautiful night sky.
You and John Dory liked to go there a lot. Whether it be dates or to blow off steam (not like that for the weirdos), if he'd go anywhere after an accident like today, he'd go there.
He was very athletic and made a show of it whenever you'd go together, carrying you up. Bridal style or pulling you up with his strong locks—the point was, you had trouble going up on your own.
It took a while—a hard struggle—but it'd be worth it to see your boy up there and cheer him up.
They couldn't just break up; they just needed their leader to see that.
"John Dory?"
You called upon reaching the top, pushing the heavy leaves out of your way, careful not to slip off the branch.
"Baby, are you here?" Your voice was soft; you didn't want to alarm him. He could be really sensitive sometimes.
That thought brought a faint smile to your face. A smile fell upon the realization that he wasn't up here. If not up here, where could he have gone?
Home?
Knowing JD, you doubted it. If this was as serious as Floyd had put it, as serious as he looked, he wouldn't have just gone home.
And so your search ensued.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
You spent days looking for him. Not a spot in the tree was untouched or unsearched by you. Somehow, the troll had just disappeared. No signs. No letters. No goodbyes.
He left you alone to suffer. Wondering where he'd gone, if he was okay, and if you guys were okay.
It was a coincidence, truly.
How on the day you reminisce when he left you without even a word explaining his sudden disappearance all those years ago was the same day you'd find John Dory on your doorstep.
"Come on, baby, could you let me in?"
"Baby?" you scoffed, remaining with your back slammed against the door in exasperation. "You lost the right to call me that a very long time ago."
One moment you were having a nice day, reading a nice book by your fireplace, enjoying the pitter-patter of rain outside, and the thunder struck, shaking you in the best way possible.
And the next...
"It's cooold..."
He whined, banging on the door desperately.
You couldn't bear to look at him; the second you already spent doing so when you opened the door was enough. He had a face that you'd never forget.
How'd he even find you?
"Go. Away." you growled.
"But it's cold outside."
You clenched your jaw, glaring at the door handle as he shook it. JD used little effort to push at the door; by the weight of it, he could tell you were against it. Not that it mattered.
He was strong; he could easily open it if he wanted to.
"You simply must go."
"Baby, it's cold outside."
If John Dory thinks a little singing is enough to serenade you, he is more of an idiot than you are already aware he is. You weren't a teenager helplessly in love with a silly musician from next door, you were grown.
Mature.
His tricks weren't going to work on you.
"The answer is no."
"But baby, it's cold outside."
He put more pressure, pushing, and you cursed for the lack of a lock on your door.
Trolls don't do locks! They don't have anything to worry about!
Except ex-boyfriend's trying to come in and ruin your life all over again.
"The welcome has been-."
"You should feel so lucky I dropped in."
You rolled your eyes, sarcasm dripping with your words, "So nice and warm."
He pushed the door, slipping a leg in to stop it from shutting completely, peeking a crack. You groaned and peered through it at him.
Sharp glares were directed at him, and gosh, if only looks could kill, he would've dropped dead right now.
He looked stupid.
Stupid puppy eyes with his stupid goggles and a stupid pout on his stupid face. He was soaked from head to toe, the rain falling on him more and more every second he stood outside.
My, did he look pathetic?
BANG!
He shrieked, desperation on his face and voice, jumping at the loud crash of thunder, lighting up the dark sky.
He turned back to you, singing rapidly.
"Look out the window at that storm!"
"Ugh, okay! Come in!"
His face lit up, the door swinging open, and he rushed in, soaking your carpet with rain as you shut the door behind him, slamming it hard enough that the whole house shook with force.
He glanced at you in surprise, getting a glare in return.
JD opened his mouth to speak, obviously nothing nice with the smug look on his face, and you were quick to shut him down.
"Don't."
He clamped his mouth shut, smirking and holding his hands up in defense. "I wasn't gonna say anything."
"Stay."
You urged with a pointed finger, walking off to your bathroom in search of a towel.
"Yes, your majesty."
You hated him with every fiber of your being, but you weren't cruel. He might've been, but you weren't. Any troll would do the same as you; offer him some refuge from the storm outside.
Returning with a towel, you didn't bother passing it to him, tossing it and smacking him right in the face.
Maybe you were a little cruel.
He reacted with a huff, taking it and wrapping it around himself, not bothering to dry himself like ordered, but more like a shelter from the cold.
"Is that how you treat your boyfriend after all these years?"
John Dory tutted, shaking his head in disappointment as he took a single step in your direction.
"Boyfriend?" you scoffed.
"I mean, technically, we never broke up."
Oh, you wanted to punch his little ugly face so bad.
"You disappearing without saying anything was us "technically" breaking up." You did air quotations with another roll of your eyes, speaking before he did, exasperated.
"Why are you even here, John Dory?"
He stayed silent for a few moments, pondering what exactly to say. What could he say? He knew it was stupid of him to even come in the first place. He knew you'd be angry, upset, but not like this.
You didn't look the slightest bit happy to see him.
His smugness dropped along with his shoulders, and he took a breath.
"I need your help."
He looked dead serious. So serious.
You shook your head, your lips curling up in disbelief. "You need my help. Right." your arms crossed, "You leave, disappear off to who knows where, say nothing, suddenly come back after 20 years, and you decide you want my help?"
A short and dry laugh left you.
John Dory really was unbelievable.
"I knew you wouldn't want to see me..."
"I don't want to see you." You cut him off with a grimace, ready to say more-
He had that same desperate look.
Honestly, it brought you back. It brought you back to all those years ago, when both of you were young.
John Dory was always a terrible boyfriend, cocky and arrogant, bossy, too busy with BroZone to give you the time you needed. It hurt you. You loved him so much, and he didn't seem to always reciprocate those feelings. And each time you guys would argue and break up, he would be the first to return with a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
"Leave me alone, John. You can't just come back and expect me to accept you. That's not how life works! If you wanna be in a relationship, you have to commit-..."
"Can you please just listen?"
He stared at you with a small pout, furrowed brows, eyes pleading into yours for you to give him a second chance. His stupid, loving eyes knew exactly how you worked. How exactly to work you.
The only difference right now was that he came empty-handed.
Nevertheless, it effectively shut you up.
"I fucked up all those years ago, I know. I fucked up leaving you. That's the biggest mistake I've ever made. I should've said goodbye, apologized, invited you to come with me- I should've done something!" He ranted, "But I didn't. And I just left..."
John Dory expected you to say something. One of your snarky remarks and cut him off, tell him he's wrong or right, and degrade him on what a terrible person he is because he is well aware of it.
But he's trying.
"Baby, you of all trolls know how terrible I am at apologies," he sighed.
And you didn't bother to correct him on your name; looking at him up and down, eyes still narrowed. You were still angry, you'd probably be angry for a very long time, but for the moment... you'd put it aside.
"What do you need help with?"
His face lit up, beaming at you at your acceptance, not denying him completely, not shunning the troll out, and kicking him back into the rain. You were hearing him out.
You noticed the look and huffed, "Just because I'm asking does not mean I'm going to say yes."
"Floyd's been kidnapped."
Your expression softened, and your mouth fell open in a quiet gasp.
"Kidnapped?"
"I got a letter from him saying he got kidnapped by popstars Velvet and Veneer." He went on and explained the story about how he went to see him and help him escape, only to fail: "-The only way to free him is by singing the perfect family harmony."
You loved Floyd to this day. It'd been years since you'd last talked to him, heard of him at all, but the same amount of affection you felt for the troll remained.
"I need to get the band back together. And... I really can't do it on my own. I'm not sure if they want to see me any more than you did-."
You cut him off a lot.
"I'll help," he grinned. "But not for you. For Floyd. Don't think I've forgiven you yet."
"Yet?"
"Shut up."

07 YN, ARE YOU OKAY?
Tumblr media
“is everyone ready?” the manager called out as the members were rushing out the door with their bags. two suitcases were thrown into the trunk as everyone were heading inside the van.
“manager-nim, can we stop by for a minute to get fried chicken? we’re starving..” eunseok asked as he volunteered before. the manager shut the van door and looked back at the members who were already giving puppy eyes.
he let out a sigh, “we’re gonna be running late if we do that. i’m pretty sure the airport food is delicious.” he said, and he could hear the members whining.
“but manager-nim,” shotaro pout, “we haven’t had fried chicken in so long! and plus, we all want yangnyeom chicken, wonbin’s favorite! i doubt we’ll be able to find it in paris.”
“please manager-nim,”
the manager let out another sigh before turning on the van, “alright, fine. but we will be a few minutes late so once we arrive at the airport, no dilly-dallying, got it?”
finally, the members pouts went away and instead was replaced with a smile on their faces as they all agreed. “yes manager-nim!”
after a quick pit stop to get some fried chicken, the group finally arrived at the airport. however, since they were a little late there was only a few paparazzi waiting outside for them. as soon as they got out of the van, the few paparazzi who were waiting for them started shouting their names, which caught the attention of everyone else who were in the airport. it seemed like someone arrived before them.
ahead of the group were another small group of girls. who seemed to be you, sakura, nayeon, and karina. you immediately noticed the presence of the group and cursed to yourself.
“why did they have to arrive at the same time as us?” you mumbled underneath your breath but sakura, who was standing beside you, heard everything.
“hey yn, you were gonna see them sooner or later. did you forget they are on the same flight as us?” sakura asked, and you did happen to forget.
before you could say anything else, your manager was already telling you to hurry up and walk. you stared at the paparazzi’s flashing lights as you walked inside of the airport. you were met with a gush of swarming people already running towards you, but little did you know riize was right behind you guys.
suddenly the fans started to push and shove you out of the way so they could meet with the idol group. nayeon had a worried expression on her face as she watched the scene unfold. no one else was getting pushed except you, which made nayeon and everyone else upset.
your manager and the bodyguards tried to escort you as safely as possible, but the fans and paparazzi were too much at the moment. it’s not like they were ignoring you, they were still trying to talk to you and take pictures but they were also trying to hurry up so they could get a view of the group behind you.
you were so overwhelmed by the fans pushing and shoving you to the point you fell to the ground.
“oh my gosh yn are you okay!?” sakura shouted amidst the screams from the fans as she helped you get up. the bodyguards quickly circled around you guys so no one else could get hurt.
you got up from sakura’s help as nayeon and karina looked at you with concern plastered on their face. there was absolutely no time to talk so you gave them a reassuring signal that you were fine before having to move again.
riize, who was right behind you, witnessed everything and wonbin couldn’t help but stare at you in concern. he was too busy staring he didn’t even notice the swarm of people coming his way and the bodyguards circling around him and the members for protection. he couldn’t believe the situation that was unfolding and unknowingly glared at everyone.
shotaro noticed this and rest his hand on wonbin’s shoulder, “you’re making it obvious.” he said and the other snapped back into reality. “did you not see what happened just now? yn fell over because of these people!”
shotaro also glared at the people before returning back to wonbin, “yeah, i did. it’s crazy but if you glare at everyone like that you’ll start something again on the internet.”
the boy couldn’t have cared less as he continued to glare at the fans and paparazzi, showing in plain sight that he was disappointed and pissed off at their actions. it only took a few more minutes before they were out of the fan’s sight and waiting at their gate already.
sungchan noticed wonbin’s expression, “you good man?”
“mhm.”
shotaro signaled sungchan to leave the other alone for now as he was recollecting his peace. eunseok set the container of the chicken that they got earlier next to wonbin so he could eat and calm down.
“well, this is not what i wanted it to be like when i said airport here we come.” anton joked a little to sohee and seunghan who were just silently watching the others.
suddenly wonbin pulled out his phone and sungchan couldn’t help but be nosy and subtly watch him. he watched as he opened up his messages and scrolled through them, trying to find a certain person.
and let’s just say, sungchan looked quite shocked.

can't take the home out of oklahoma - i. (k.c.)
a/n: eeee! a fever dream later, i've finally cobbled together the first part of my top gun: maverick and twisters crossover fic! it's going to be lengthy so we are in for quite the ride! it's way heavier on twisters, so any non-top gun fans should have no problem reading this. future parts will deal with darker content that's only referenced right now, so that'll all be tagged and marked accordingly. for now, it's just my standard cup of angst. reblog and comments are always appreciated!!
summary: After a twisted stroke of luck, you leave behind your whole life in San Diego, California and find yourself in Oklahoma with Tyler Owens and his Tornado Wranglers.
warnings: swearing, weather inaccuracies, flashbacks, reference to past trauma, alcohol
word count: 5.7k
Tumblr media
Your finger rubs gently over the crinkled piece of paper Jake had torn off for you, the phone number and the name Tyler Owens written in the neat penmanship the blonde prided himself on.
If you ever find yourself down South and need something, Jake had said, a bit out of breath as he’d run out of the house after you. If you need anything, call that number. They’ll help you.
The cursor blinks back up at you on the call pad, your cracked screen making a mockery of you. The chaos of the San Diego airport whirls around you, pressing in on you the longer you sit here.
You take a deep breath and press call.
-
His phone starts vibrating on the table and he frowns, eyebrows furrowing as the team, crowded around the table in the RV, goes quiet.
He answers, despite it being an unknown number. “Tyler Owens.”
“Hi. Uh,” A shaky breath comes from the other end of the receiver before introducing themselves to him. “Uh, Jake Seresin gave me your number. Told me to call if I needed anything.”
His gut drops at the name, a clench in his heart. “What can I do for ya?”
“Look, I’ve- I’ve had a rough week and I’m, I’m sort of finding my life upside down. And uh, I guess I’m just grasping at straws here. Jake said, he said you could help me.”
“That so? Well, I’m afraid you’re gonna have to be more specific. How can I help you? What can I do for you?”
“A- a purpose, maybe? I need a purpose, something to do. Um, I’m in San Diego right now but I need to get out of here.”
Tyler frowns, eyes flicking around at his team. They’re all curious as to what’s unfolding, and he scrubs at his forehead, knowing they’ll be upset with him for pulling the trigger on this without talking it through with them first.
But damn it, this girl sounded scared and Jake had sent her to him. Had told her he’d help her, and he would see to it that he did.
He wasn’t going to leave her behind.
“Tell you what, get yourself on a plane to Oklahoma. I’ll come get you. You can come work with me and my team.”
“You- your team?” Though she sounds hesitant, she almost sounds relieved at having some sort of direction now.
“Storm chasers. Ish. We’re doing some field research out here in Tornado Alley, but I’ve got a team, the Tornado Wranglers. And honestly, we need another set of hands out of here managing the backend of things.”
The word managing was the wrong choice as it immediately sends his team into protest. Boone stands up abruptly, Javi and Kate whispering protests to him, as Lilly starts making a face. He waves a hand, wanting them to be quiet.
The last thing he needed was for this girl to hear, to hang up, to not follow through.
“Okay.” You say, and he thinks he hears you stand up. “Okay, I’ll find the soonest flight out. Um, what kind of things do you need help with? My background- it’s not in science.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure we could find something around here you can help with. Research grant editing or something.”
“I’ve actually got experience with that.” You say with a choked laugh, and Tyler can feel the relief bleed through the phone. He smiles a bit, pressure easing as he does.
“Then we’ll make sure we put you to work.” There’s a beat as he hears the intercom in the airport go off in the background. “Listen, text me when your flights supposed to land. I’ll make sure I’m there to get you. We’re out in the field right now, so it may be a bit of trek out here, but I’ll make sure you get here.”
You confirm and he hangs up and his team starts yelling before the phone is even back on the table.
“We don’t need another team member man-“
“A manager? What kind of business do you take this for?”
“Are you serious? Kate and I, we’ve got the grant stuff covered-“
“This really tells us how you feel about us, Owens.”
He glances at Kate, who’s looking at him with a guarded expression he hasn’t seen since he first met her. She doesn’t excuse herself, simply pushing her way out, climbing around the back of Javi and Boone.
-
It would be hard to miss Tyler, the way he’s signing an autograph, cowboy hat atop his head as he leans against the truck branded with the Tornado Wranglers logo.
You stop dead, a cold feeling washing over you at the eerie reminder of the person you’d just left behind.
This Tyler Owens might be Jake Seresin’s doppelgänger, and based on what you’d seen during the flight you were beginning to suspect the only difference between them is the way they chased the adrenaline high.
During the flight, you’d bought in-flight WiFi for the first time in your life, just to learn who these people were, who you’d be spending time with. Trying to understand what you’d gotten yourself into.
Tyler perks up at the sight of you, a smile growing on his face. He holds out his hand and you take it, noting the genuine smile. You shake his hand, swallowing around the burning desire to ask the question.
“Welcome to good ol’ Oklahoma.” He welcomes. “You ready to hit the road? The team is a bit of a ways out.”
You nod as Tyler grabs your small duffel bag, throwing it in the back of the truck before you can even ask.
You climb in the front, taking note of all the gadgets the truck is equipped with. “What’s all this?” You ask, as he turns the key, pulling away from the curb. “Storm chasing stuff?”
“You could say that. The trucks decked out with all kinds of stuff.”
The radio is soft in the background as Tyler talks to you about the team, about what you’ll be doing.
As Tyler talks, as you talk, as you both think of things for you to do, you begin to lose interest in the conversation as the Oklahoma skyline begins to paint itself into a deep orange.
“Can we stop?” You ask, voice full of wonder as you peer out windshield, watching the sky transform itself.
You feel Tyler look over at you, before turning on his blinker despite the lack of cars around. The truck rolls to a stop as you dig around, pulling the disposable camera you’d bought from the bottom of your backpack. Tyler hasn’t even parked before you’re slipping out of the truck, walking around the front to take a picture of the sunset.
“I haven’t seen a sunset like this since I was a kid.” You breathe, the camera clicking as you do.
“I hear California has pretty good sunsets.” Tyler says, sticking his hands in his pockets as he stands next to you.
You shrug.  “They do, but if you’re in the inner city, a lot of times the good ones are hard to catch. They’re easier to see at the beach but the marine layer blocks a lot of the good ones.” You say, turning to Tyler. “At least in my opinion. We can get back on the road now.”
He nods, eyes steadily watching you as you turn on your heel, climbing back in the truck. Tyler’s a few beats behind you, still standing in the same spot as you buckle your seatbelt.
The rest of the drive is quiet, the flow of quiet country music coming through the radio as the Oklahoma skies turns from dusk to night.
By the time you roll up to camp, it’s clear that Tyler’s team has gone to bed, save for one.
An older man perks up at the sight of you, climbing to his feet from his chair. “Ah, Tyler. Was just about to call and see where you were. This our new teammate?”
Tyler nods, introducing you to this man. You step forward taking his outstretched hand.
“Dexter.” He says, a smile on his face. “You must’ve had a long day. We’ve got some leftovers, can I get you anything? We’ve also got our extra tent set up, it’s where you’ll be sleeping.”
You glance at Tyler, although you’re not sure for what. Reassurance maybe. “I’d love some food. And a water maybe? I don’t have a water bottle with me anymore.”
It’s almost a natural instinct to wince at the thought of the loss of your emotional support water bottle that was probably laying in some crevice in the wreckage in Texas.
Dexter sets to work as Tyler settles himself in front of the fire, a beer in hand. “We’re meant to head to town tomorrow anyways. We’ll stop, get you stuff to help out with the team. Maybe some new camping gear and whatever.” He takes a sip of his beer, cringing as he does. “Just realizing you’ll probably have to sleep on the dirt; I don’t think we’ve got any extra protectors after we visited the last wreckage. We should probably get more stuff tomorrow anyway.”
“It’s no worries.” You say with a wave of your hand. “I was a Girl Scout for like, eight years, so it’s not a big deal. Won’t phase me.”
A head pops out from a tent nearby. Tyler perks up at the sight of him, as the man sticks his hands in the pockets of the zip-up he’s wearing. “You want a jacket?”
You glance down, realizing you’re shivering. “Uh, yeah, that’d be nice.”
He gives you a cautious smile before looking to Tyler. “Hey Ty, man, I’ve got an extra pullover in the back of the van, can you grab it?”
Tyler nods as the man reaches a hand out. “I’m Javi.”
You shake it, introducing yourself.
“You from around here? You don’t sound it.”
You shake your head. “San Diego, actually.”
Tyler comes back the same time Dexter comes back with your food and Dexter waits patiently as you scramble, pulling the soft material over your head.
It smells strongly of rain in a way you can’t explain. In a way, the smell brings you a sliver of comfort.
You take the food from Dexter as you do, thanking him.
“Dexter, this is incredible.” You say around the bite.
“It’s an old family recipe from down in the bayou. I’ve tweaked it so we can make it out here on the road, but it’s a crowd pleaser when I do.”
“You from New Orleans?” You ask and he nods. “My boyf- my ex boyfriend now I guess-“ You say, taking another bite in hopes to hide the awkward way you swallow around those words. “He’s from out there too.”
Dexter sighs. “I miss that place, I do. But it wasn’t easy to stay after Katrina. I lost my whole family.”
Your heart pangs, at his words, and it aches, at the thought of the person you’d left behind.
“I’m very sorry to hear that.” You say softly.
Javi clears his throat. “You need anything else?” You shake your head and he stands up again. “I really oughta get to sleep, but we’ll chat more tomorrow, yeah?”
You nod and Javi gives you another cautious smile. In your heart, you want to believe there’s maybe a little hope hidden in it too.
Dexter also bids you and Tyler goodnight, and the two of you sit there, the crackling fire filling the silence as you eat.
“Thank you Tyler.” You say softly, staring at the burning embers after you’ve finished eating.
You know you should explain to him how it all happened, how you got here, but Tyler doesn’t ask and you can’t forget the vision in your head of Steven’s cold eyes, unseeing.
“You’re giving me a second chance here, and I really do appreciate it.” You settle on instead.
He nods. “Whatever I can do to help.”
You excuse yourself, bidding the man goodnight, only to find yourself tossing and turning on the hard ground.
You thought sleep would come to you easier, with how emotional the last week has been, but everytime you close your eyes and a breeze rolls through, it all comes flooding back, the haze of freezing rain, of a rusty storm grate, a heavy body, and so much blood-
The sound of a door shutting (from the RV if you had to guess,) causes you to open your eyes, sitting up on the makeshift bed.
“I don’t want her here Tyler.” A female voice says, and you frown.
There’s a beat.
“Too bad Sapulpa, she’s staying.” Tyler responds.
“Stay here and do what?” The girl asks incredulously. “We don’t need her help. And I didn’t know you’re suddenly in the business of helping out random strangers who call you in the middle of the day-“
“This is our whole business, Kate.” He says firmly. “We help people. Strangers. That’s what we’re here to do, remember?”
“And how are you helping her?”
Tyler’s quiet for a minute again. “We’re giving her a second chance.”
“A second chance? Are you serious?” The girl, Kate, huffs.
“It wasn’t that long ago it was you who needed a second chance. We gave that to you, remember?”
Another zipper being yanked cuts off Kate’s response.
“Yo!” It’s Javi. “Can y’all argue about this tomorrow?”
You don’t hear the sound of Kate’s footsteps but you hear the slam of the RV door loud and clear.
Tyler goes through the motions, getting the camp cleaned up, before putting the fire out. And then you hear him slip into the RV and for the first time in days, in the quiet of the Oklahoma night, it feels like you can breathe.
-
You awake with a gasp, clawing at the blankets as if it was Jake’s flannel, holding on for dear life through the storm.
You swallow back the bile threatening to spill over and blindly climb from the nest of blankets, pulling the zipper down, and stumbling into the sun.
You swallow as someone’s head turns. It’s a girl, sat at the table the crew has set up outside. You pull yourself from the tent, unable to shake your nerves as you take in the soft baby pink hues above her in the sky.
You introduce yourself softly and she gives you a tight smile in between bites of yogurt. “Kate.”
Your heart clenches, realizing this must be the girl you’d heard last night.
It’s an awkward silence the two of you sit in, the baby pink fading from the sky as Tyler pulls himself from the RV. When she sees Tyler, she quietly excuses herself and brushes past him, floating back into the RV.
“You oughta get that screen fixed.” Tyler comments, sitting down next to you.
“Haven’t had time.” You say with a shrug as you glance at the screen on your phone. It was more shattered than it was cracked, a hazard really, but what could you do?
“I’ll take you to a place in town today that’ll replace it for cheap.” Tyler says around a bite. “Can I get you anything to eat?”
Tyler’s team appears over the next hour, and he introduces them as they do. Dexter appears from the RV first and then Dani and Lilly from the back of the van. Boone gets dragged out from the van by Lilly twenty minutes later, and Boone pulls Javi from his tent because “if I have to be awake so do you Miami.”
Kate doesn’t leave the RV for the rest of the morning.
-
“They don’t like me.” You say quietly, drumming your fingers on the car door as Tyler drives to the motel that evening.
“They barely know you-“
“Cut the shit Tyler, I heard Kate last night.” You say sharply, sending him a cold glare. “They don’t want me here.” You roll out your shoulders, looking back out the window. “If you want me to go back, it’s okay.”
“And send you back to god knows what?”
“I’d be fine.”
“Kid, you sounded so damn terrified on that phone — I’m not inclined to turn around and give you back to that fear.”
You swallow around a sigh, feeling Tyler watch you as he drives.
“Give me a week. Give me a week to make it work. And if you still feel like you need to go back, hell, I’ll pay for your flight.”
You look at Tyler, noting the serious look in his eyes.
“Okay. One week.”
-
The next week feels simultaneously long and short in the worst ways.
Short, in that it feels like your time is running out.
Long, in that there are no storms to chase, dissipating before the team ever has a chance.
Long, in that you sit around most days, doing your own research on grants and sponsors and the backgrounds of potential investors and articles on social media growth.
Long, in that you don’t really talk to any of them, except for the one time you look over at Javi’s computer, just to tell him that his sentence didn’t make any sense.
Long in that, Kate refuses to be anywhere near you and Boone ignores you and Lilly shuts you out of conversation and Javi sort of looks at you like you’re some sort of alien placed down next to them.
It’s only on the sixth day, when you’re collecting everything you’ve worked on all week to give to Tyler in the morning before he takes you back, that something happens.
The storm is too far away for them to chase it, to get any research done, but Tyler and Lilly agree that the team should head in, to be there to help out and hand out food in the aftermath.
Because, apparently, that’s what this team is known for.
You feel awkward here, watching the team spring into action. You feel out of place, not knowing what you were supposed to say or do as these people dug through the rubble of their lives.
You were supposed to help people. Tyler had said you could help people here.
The team is distracted just enough, that it’s you who catches it, not them.
The sounds of a cry, somebody softly shushing them. You round a corner, heart breaking at the sight.
There, a small little boy, maybe around the age of 8, is holding who seems to be his little sister as she cries.
The poor girl can’t be any older than 3 or 4.
“I want Mom.” She blubbers out and the boy shushes her.
“I know, sissy, we just gotta-“ The boy looks around helplessly.
“Hey.” You call out, stepping around the rubble. “Hey, do you need help?”
The boy nods. “Mom said not to move but-“
You hold your hands out. “Stay where you are, okay? I’ll come get you and your sister alright?”
The boy nods, clinging to his sister’s hand.  You make your way through the rubble, kicking things out of the way to make a path back before finally reaching the two kids. You kneel down best as you can, leveling yourself to them as you introduce yourself.
“I’m here to help. Can you tell me your name?”
“I’m Jack.” The boy says. “This is Bella. She’s bleeding and I can’t find my Mom-“
“Hey, hey.” You soothe. “We’ll get you guys some help and get you out of here, okay? We’ll find your Mom.” You look at Bella. “Bella? Are you okay if I carry you? I’m going to help you find someone to patch that cut up, okay?” Bella nods and Jack lets her go as you scoop her up. You hold out your hand for Jack as the two of you navigate your way out.
As you weave your way through people, you ask Jack soft questions about himself, where he goes to school, if he likes dinosaurs or trucks, distracting him as he talks to you. Once you get the two kids to the EMTs, you duck around the side, in search of someone from your team.
“Kate.” You call, as she’s sifting through rubble, calling for a dog. She glances over at you. “Hey, I’ve got two little kids here who can’t find their Mom. I’m gonna stay with them but can you let the team know? Just in case anyone sees her.”
The face Kate makes is difficult to read as she nods. You sigh, making your way back around the truck.
Bella’s all patched up and Jack is studying the logo on your shirt, lighting up when he recognizes it.
“Mom lets me watch their YouTube channel sometimes!”
You scoop Bella back up in your arms, holding a hand out for Jack to jump down as you do.
“Oh well then I’m guessing you don’t want to come see the tornado-proof truck?”
-
It’s late in the day when Bella and Jack’s Mom comes running down the street, hysterical. Tyler and Kate aren’t far behind her.
Her arm is in a sling and there’s a few bumps and bruises on her, but otherwise she’s fine. Both of the kids light up at the sight of their Mom, and she’s tearful, thanking you over and over for helping them, for watching over her babies.
You wave her off, citing babysitting as just another thing you’re used to, a big family and all that.
It’s as they’re walking away, Dexter asking if you want any food, Jack shouts out.
They turn back, Bella running back to you with the stuffed animal she’d been holding in hand. You kneel down as she holds it out for you to take, heart aching as you look at the stuffed pig.
Bella had seen it atop your stuff when you’d taken them in the RV and had been holding it ever since.
It was one of the few things you had of your life left behind but you know when it’s time to let something go.
“You keep it okay?” You say softly. “You take care of yourself little Bella?” She wraps her arms around your neck, the stuffie clutched between her little fingers. You return the hug, exhaling as you do. Bella lets you go, returning to her Mom and her brother and you stand back up, wiping at your eyes with the back of your hand.
“Do you want some food? You’ve been with those kids all day.” Dani says softly, holding the box.
“How’d you find Mom?” You ask quietly, crossing your arms.
Tyler sighs. “Was sitting with her the whole afternoon when Kate came down the street, hearing her talk about her missing kids. Kate connected the dots.”
Your arms wrap around yourself tighter. “Kate, I told you I was with those kids. I told you to tell the team in case anybody found Mom.”
Kate opens her mouth but no words come out as Lilly’s eyes slide between the two of you.
“Here.” Lilly says gently as she holds the box out, taking it from Dani. “You should eat. Been a long day.”
“I’m not hungry.” You say. “I’m gonna get in the truck, let me know when we’re leaving.”
-
You sling your backpack over your shoulder, the truck door shutting behind you as you walk up the motel steps.
The backpack, downsized from your duffel bag as Tyler had gone through the Oklahoma necessities with you, which was hardly anything you owned, feels heavy as you do.
“Hey.” Kate’s voice calls out. “That was a really nice thing you did for that little girl.”
Tears sting at your eyes as you push the key into the lock, pressing against the door with your body weight to get the door to unstick.
You think Tyler says something as you shut the door but under the hot water of the shower rushing down you, you can’t hear anything else.
-
You clear your throat, announcing your presence as you do. Tyler and Kate pause in their conversation as they look over to you.
You set the folder down in front of Tyler, Javi’s pullover in front of Kate.
“Just wanted to give these to you. Tyler, do you want me to just wait in the truck?”
Tyler peeks at the folder as Kate asks “Wait for what?”
“What is all of this?” Tyler asks, flipping through the pages.
“Research on potential investors and their backgrounds. Just so you guys don’t get into another StormPar situation. There’s some stuff about grants, donors in there. Other stuff I tracked down about how you could grow your social media, ideas I had. There might be a couple of pages about laws on people donating, not sure. It’s everything I’ve done this week. Y’all don’t have to use it but I just thought it might be helpful as lead points.”
“This is- this is really great stuff.” Tyler remarks. “It’s gonna be a real loss to not have your brain on our team.”
“Wait - are you leaving?” Kate asks, eyes flying between you and Tyler.
“I’ll meet you at the truck.” You say, turning to leave. You think you hear Kate repeat the question to Tyler, but you shut the door to the RV before you can hear their conversation further. Across the parking lot, Javi calls out, but you wave him off as you climb into the passenger seat of Tyler’s truck.
Your heart feels heavy as you look at your own Javy’s contact.
It would be so easy to pick up the phone, to tell him you made a mistake, to beg him to let you come home.
He would too, and he would pick you up from the airport, and he’d wash the Oklahoma from your skin, and he’d hold you through the loss.
But then you remember Jake’s defeated look as the two of you had assessed the damage, the way he’d asked you to lie.
You remember the blood-
A startled gasp leaves you as someone knocks on the window.
It’s Kate.
You roll down the window.
“You’re leaving?”
You eye her, unsure why she appears to be almost nervous, fingernails digging into the soft flesh of her arms.
“Yeah?”
“Why?”
You shrug, surveying the team in the parking lot. “It just didn’t work out. I didn’t fit here.”
“But-“ She worries her bottom lip. “Where will you go?”
“I’ll figure it out.” You say simply.
You’d have to because you knew the alternative would be devastating to everyone you’d ever known.
She sighs, eyes flickering to Tyler, who’s moving closer. “Well, we’re headed to my Mom’s tonight. You should stay one more night. You’ve never even had real Oklahoma barbecue.”
A dry laugh escapes you without your permission. “Kate, what are you playing at here?”
She seems shocked, not expecting your question. “What do you mean?”
You roll your eyes, huffing. “Kate, c’mon, you told Tyler you didn’t want me here.”
Her face drops as her arms fall by her sides. “You heard that?” She says quietly.
“Yeah.”
She licks her lips. “Look, I ain’t good with new people. I’m- It’s a me thing.” She looks down, scuffing her boot on the ground. “It’s my problem and I misjudged you. I’m sorry. Give me another night to show you how it could be.”
“Why the hell would I stay to see how it could be when I know at this moment I’m not wanted here?”
“I do.” She says softly. “Want you here. I was wrong and I’m sorry.”
You let out breath through your nose, meeting Tyler’s eyes through the windshield.
You think of Dexter’s food, Javi’s pullover, Dani and Lilly’s gentle insistence you feed yourself last night.
You think of the Louisiana area code sitting open on your phone right now.
“One night, Kate.”
-
“I sure am sorry you’ll have to sleep on the floor. I just wasn’t expecting an extra person from the crew but we can make sure you have somewhere to sleep tomorrow night-“
You cut her off, holding your hands out for the dishes from dinner. “That’s very kind of you Ms. Cooper, but I’m just fine sleeping on the floor.”
“Please, I keep telling you to just call me Cathy and, well, you could stay in Kate’s bed?” Cathy offers as you take the plates from her.
“Think you’d find my throat slit tomorrow.” You mutter and Tyler barks out a laugh.
“You deserved that one Kate.”
Cathy turns to her daughter, a look on her face. “What did you do?”
Kate pulls a face, holding her hands out. “What- Nothing, Mom!”
Cathy hums, eyebrows furrowing but you cut them off. “The floor is just fine, Ms. Cooper. Um, do you mind pointing me in the direction of the bathroom so I could change?”
-
“Do Tyler and Kate have a thing?” You ask, taking a sip of the hot chocolate Lilly had made as Javi chuckles next to you.
You’re watching the group fight over Uno, you and Javi sat in front of a puzzle.
“They did at one point. When they first met, but they burned out pretty fast. Figured out they were better off as friends.” You hum and Javi’s grin grows. “Why, you thinking you want to start something up with Owens?”
You blanch and shake your head. “No, I think I’ve more than had my fill on macho thrill seekers for this lifetime.”
Javi lets out a laugh, a real one, for the first time all week. You smile, thinking of how Tyler would fit in with those pilots like he’d always belonged there.
You were all set on those types.
Kate though…
If Kate hadn’t been so cold to you, Kate would’ve been the type of girl you could see yourself falling for.
Witty, bright, a soft smile always worn on her face. She’s at ease here and it makes your heart hurt to see. You want to someday be as at ease as she looks, wedged in between Boone and Dexter, the brightest smile you’ve seen from her on her face.
“So how the hell does a city girl like you find herself in Oklahoma?”
You slide a puzzle piece into place. “I don’t, I don’t really want to talk about it, if that’s okay.”
Javi sighs, quiet for a minute. “Look, I’m sorry we were so off-putting when you first got here. We’re a tight knit group and we’ve been through a lot together. And-“
“Javi.” You cut him off with a tight smile. “You don’t have to explain. I get it, okay? You guys aren't the first group to not want me around and you won’t be the last, alright?”
He heaves a breath, an unreadable look on his face. “Just- if anyone might understand the things you’re running from, it would be us.”
“Who says I’m running?”
Javi raises an eyebrow and you sigh, setting the pieces you’re sorting through down.
“Look, I’m not running. I’m just- I’m just trying to leave something behind.”
Javi studies you for a few minutes as you set back to work on the puzzle.
“Shame you and Kate can’t get along. You two are more alike than you think.”
-
You awake with a start, fingers clenching in unfamiliar fabric.
“Are you okay?” Someone asks softly and you blink, Kate coming into focus.
Right, you had- you had slept next to her last night after she’d worn you down. You couldn’t deny how nice it had sounded to sleep in a real bed.
“Fine.” You breathe, willing yourself to forget the shouts of a friend left behind.
She frowns as she pulls her pants on. “I’m, uh, sorry for waking you up. Gotta help Mom with the cows.”
You wave a hand, pulling yourself to sit up in the bed. “Want a hand?”
“Mom would kill me if I let a guest help. Why don’t you get some more sleep, okay?”
You lay back down as she quietly ducks out of the room, but you know sleep won’t come.
You’re restless so you pull yourself from the bed, padding down the staircase and sitting in one of the chairs on the porch. Tyler appears a minute later, an extra coffee mug in hand. You take it from him with a quiet thank you before the two of you start to watch Kate.
“So California, are we gonna talk about it?” Tyler asks.
You sigh as Tyler kicks his feet out. “Well, you’re gonna ask me questions I don’t want to answer and I’m gonna ask you ones you don’t want to answer, so unless you want to start copping to some things…”
Tyler shakes his head. “Won’t talk about it then, California.”
You eye him. “I’d prefer it if you didn’t call me that. Sort of hard to leave that life behind when you keep calling me that.”
“You gonna stay?” Tyler asks, looking over at you.
You shrug, finger running over the rim of the mug. “I don’t know that I should.”
“I know it’s been a rough start with them.” Tyler sighs, shoulders hiked up. “But they’re good people.”
“I don’t doubt that.”
“You’re good people too.”
“Doesn’t make me a good fit here.”
Tyler sighs. “It’s my fault, I should’ve approached it a different way. But if you leave, we’d really be missing out. You’ve got those fancy degrees and you’re smart and you’re one fucking selfless girl. We could use someone like you around.”
Kate and her Mom appear, Kate’s bright smile appearing as she pulls herself onto the railing of the porch.
“You guys hungry? I’m gonna go get started on breakfast.”
“Starved.”
“Wanna come see the barn?” Kate asks you as her Mom opens the screen door.
“Now hang on, California ain’t said if she’s staying. No reason to show her the barn if she’s gonna be leaving.”
You sigh, look down at the mug you can feel going cold. You rub your thumb over the Oklahoma written into the side as you think of Kate’s smile, of Tyler’s kindness, of Dexter’s food, of Javi’s pullover that had somehow ended back up in your bag after giving it back to Tyler and Kate yesterday.
You blink, looking back up at them. “Okay. Yeah, okay, I’ll stay."

I'd like to see how my life would have turned out, 20 years ago, had I joined my college football team instead of the college theater group.
Fuck. Fucking hell this fucking sucks. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. It’s not you, you’re not the reason I’m upset. Your request is interesting and I want to help you with it, I really do. It’s just… to do this, we’re going to have to use time travel. It’s not that it’s impossible or anything, I actually own a time machine so that’s not an issue. It’s that… I fucking hate time travel.
I don’t hate the concept of time travel itself. I think it can be a lot of fun in works of fiction. Doctor Who, Back to the Future, and Star Trek are all things that heavily feature time travel that I’m a big fan of. It’s just that, in real life, it gets so stupidly complicated. You know how every work of fiction seems to have different rules for turn travel? In real life time travel follows all these rules and none of them all at once. If that seems confusing, that’s because it is. It’s insane. But it’s the best chance for doing this, so we’re going to give it a try. Now, close your eyes and hold onto me tight. This is going to feel weird.
You can open your eyes now. Be careful though, it’s going to take a second for your eyes to adjust. We’re outside now, on the football field of your old college. You don’t have to worry about anyone seeing us. I may hate time travel but the time machine is pretty useful. Time travel, space travel, and camouflage. But that’s not important right now. See that skinny guy standing on the opposite side of the field? You should recognize him. It’s you, 20 years ago, as a college freshman. You really wanted to join the football team huh? I can see the longing in your eyes… but also some serious nervousness. I’m guessing this is about when you back out and decide to join the school's theater group. Not this time though. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna change anything drastic. I’m just going to give you a little… push in the right direction. Have to get you to join the team somehow. I just have to whisper some things in his, or I guess your ear while we’re in camouflage… and just like that everything is going to change. Welcome to the football team. You’re a little late on becoming a jock, but you’re a hard worker. You’ll catch up. Speaking of which…
Tumblr media
We jumped forward in time. I probably should have warned you, I was just excited to see the changes. We’re not all the way back to the present, not yet. It’s been a year since the other you joined the football team, and just like I predicted you caught up real quick. Even when you were in theater you were a hard worker, and now that you’ve dedicated yourself to football instead, you’re an absolute beast. You’ve had a major growth spurt and fit right in with the guys who have been playing football since middle school, a total jock through and through. Looks like this version of you acts a little more jockish too. Probably because you’ve been spending so much time around jocks, they’ve been rubbing off on you. Literally in one very special case. That’s right, the new you managed to do what you never could in college: get a jock boyfriend. In the original timeline he never even looked your way, but now Tim Wire, the most popular jock in school, is head over heels for you. You two seem to have a great relationship… Let's see if it lasts.
Tumblr media
Another jump forward, a much bigger one this time. It’s been about 5 years since you joined the football team. You didn’t go professional, not because you couldn’t but because you didn’t want to. A guy like you could have been a superstar, but you and your fiancée Tim agreed you both wanted something more stable. So you opened up a chain of gyms. It’s a small business, but it has a lot of potential for growth, especially with you as the face of the operation. You basically have it made. You own a small, successful business, have a sexy husband, and are about to adopt a 3 year old. Your life is fucking perfect. Let’s see if it gets better.
Tumblr media
A final jump forward. We’re 20 years after you joined the football team, back into the present. You’re still the old you, but that’s only because I have to ‘finalize’ the changes. Take a look around. You might not recognize this place, this huge mansion, but it’s your home. You, your husband Tim, and your adopted son all live here together. This must be your home gym, and I believe that’s you and him flexing over there. Looks like the little guy ended up taking after his dads. He’s huge for an 18 year old. He’s smart too, all ready to take over the family business when you retire. Your gyms are a very successful franchise now, if you can’t tell from the sheer size of your house. It’s just my opinion but I think your life really would have been better if you joined the football team back then. And now it can be. All you need to do is press this button, and finalize the changes. It’s your choice-
Tumblr media
Ok, that was quick. I guess it was an easy choice. I hope you enjoy your new life. I would if I were you. I mean a muscular sexy husband, a son you can be proud of, a successful business and an incredible amount of muscles and confidence. You’ve got it made. I just hope we didn’t change too much. I didn’t realize you’d start a gym franchise. That could have a big impact.
I’m sure it’s nothing though. I mean, how many lives can a gym really change?
