#but also heavy is the weight of intellectual stimulation
Text
at the peds charlie was naming colors and singing letters and counting shit and generally doing the whole 'i love impressing strangers' bit, and doc was like "oh my god, holy fuck, this is crazy, christ alive" etc stuff and im sitting there like "yeah im a little concerned that charlie isn't really grasping the lowercase letters with the same ease as the uppercase letters and its been like 3 months since we introduced them" and the doc is like "HELLO????? THIS KID IS TWO????" and im all "is that. not normal." and doc was like "NO??????" so i think charlie might be one of those kids that picks shit up really quick.

Unleashing Fun: A Guide to Interactive Dog Toys
Tumblr media
Just as we humans need mental stimulation to stay sharp, so do our furry friends. Interactive dog toys provide an excellent way to keep your dog's brain buzzing, and they help burn off energy too. But with the sheer variety of options available, it might be hard to pick the right one. This blog aims to shed light on the exciting world of interactive dog toys, helping you make the perfect choice for your pooch. Why Interactive Dog Toys are Important Interactive dog toys are not merely playthings. They serve a multitude of purposes that contribute positively to your dog's well-being. They help alleviate boredom, reduce destructive behavior, provide intellectual stimulation, and promote overall mental health. Interactive toys can also help with physical activity, weight management, and even slow down your pet's eating if you opt for treat-dispensing toys. Types of Interactive Dog Toys Puzzle Toys Puzzle toys are great to keep your dog mentally stimulated. They typically involve hiding treats inside and require your dog to solve the puzzle to retrieve them. This involves a lot of thinking and problem-solving skills, giving your dog's brain a fantastic workout. Treat-Dispensing Toys Treat-dispensing toys add an extra layer of excitement to your pet's playtime. The toys dispense treats or kibble as your dog plays with them, which provides mental stimulation and slows down fast eaters. Hide and Seek Toys Hide and seek toys come with small plush toys that you can hide in larger 'hiding spots.' Your dog then has to figure out how to remove the smaller toys, making for a fun and engaging game. Interactive Fetch Toys For dogs who love a game of fetch, interactive fetch toys can take the game to a new level. These toys might come with launchers to throw balls further, making the game more challenging and exciting. Electronic Interactive Toys These are the latest in the dog toy market. They can move, make sounds, and some even interact with your dog without your involvement. They're excellent for tech-savvy dog parents and for keeping your pup occupied when you're busy. How to Choose the Right Interactive Dog Toy Choosing the right interactive dog toy depends largely on your dog's size, preferences, and needs. Here are a few factors to consider: - Size: Choose a toy that is appropriate for your dog's size. Toys that are too small could be a choking hazard, while those that are too large might be difficult for your dog to play with. - Durability: Dogs can be tough on toys, especially if they're heavy chewers. Look for toys made from durable materials that can withstand your dog's enthusiasm. - Complexity: Consider your dog's intelligence and problem-solving skills. Some dogs might get frustrated with a toy that's too challenging, while others might lose interest if it's too easy. - Safety: Safety should always be your primary concern. Look for toys that are non-toxic and free from small parts that could be swallowed. you can find different interactive toys for dogs from amazon.com and other popular marketplaces. Interactive Dog Toys are a Win-Win Interactive dog toys are more than just playthings – they're tools for enriching your pet's life, keeping them happy, healthy, and engaged. They stimulate your pet's brain, keep them physically active, and help foster a stronger bond between you two. So, go ahead and add some interactive dog toys to your pet shopping list - they're a win-win for both you and your beloved pet. Read the full article

I’m genuinely very torn between family med/IM and neurosurgery right now. I realize this sounds insane. I’ve made a little pros and cons list for now to help me sort it out.
Disclaimer 1: I know that FM and IM are different, but a lot of the things that appeal to me about them are common to both specialties, so they’re lumped together for this list.
Disclaimer 2: this is based on incomplete information since I’ve only shadowed neurosurgery and have yet to do the elective. Though I shadowed for a stupid long time, it’s still not the same as the elective.
FM/IM PROS
Breadth and variety - get to know every organ system, treat lots of different pathologies
Relationships with patients - I get all kinds of warm and fuzzies from gaining someone’s trust and helping them manage an illness/improve their health/etc.
Much more obvious connection to public health - I feel like my medicine-adjacent interests of sexual violence prevention and health education fit much more neatly with these specialties, and I’d probably run across more opportunities to be involved in public health in these specialties
Community health research - along the same lines as above, these specialties fit better/more easily with community health research, which I love
Mix of primary care and hospital work - I enjoy both settings a lot, so it’d be nice to have a little of both
Better lifestyle? - I think in theory I would have more time outside of work in FM or IM. But I’ve also read that PCPs work an average of 60-70 hours per week, so I’m not convinced of this. And truthfully, I don’t care that much. If I’m in a specialty I like, I will happily work long hours the rest of my life. This one barely made the list.
FM/IM CONS
No surgery - I really love surgery, and I would be really sad to give it up. I know you can do procedural stuff or procedure-heavy subspecialties, but it’s really not the same as surgery, like scrubbing in and spending hours in an OR. Plus, most of the procedure-heavy subspecialties don’t hold a lot of appeal for me, and they would require me giving up the breadth that’s a lot of the appeal of FM/IM in the first place
Potentially having to refer the most interesting stuff to specialists - obviously this is necessary, but I still love a good zebra
The Crushing Weight of the American Healthcare System ™ which falls smack on the shoulders of primary care - it’s really difficult to be constantly kneecapped in your ability to care for patients by insurance companies and a general lack of funding for preventative care
Setting - I think I would greatly prefer to work in an academic setting for the aforementioned access to research as well as the potential for zebras. I feel a little embarrassed admitting this, but I worry I would get bored too easily of the bread and butter stuff. And I’m just not sure I could swing an academic job.
NSGY PROS
Surgery! - Once on gyn surg they let me place a trochar and it was the greatest high of my life. Surgery is just so thrilling to me, even when it’s something I’ve seen dozens of times, even when we’ve been in the OR for 8+ hours. I really love that surgery offers both intellectual and physical challenges; you work on your clinical reasoning alongside a sort of craftsmanship. Plus, I love anatomy (especially neuroanatomy. Yes really.) Surgery is super engaging, stimulating, and rewarding for me.
The brain - the brain is my absolute favorite organ, and I find it endlessly fascinating. I would love to know everything there is to know about the brain, and I can easily see myself studying it forever.
Neuroscience research - related to the above, I love neuroscience research, although truthfully I don’t know if I love it quite as much as community health research, and I’m definitely not as good at it as I am at community health research. Still, I enjoy it a lot, and I would like to be better.
I love the bread and butter - I really think everything in neurosurgery is cool and interesting and I would love to do it. I can see myself satisfied in pretty much any practice setting doing anything neurosurgery.
NSGY CONS
Narrower focus - I would be trading breadth of knowledge for depth, and I worry I would really miss the rest of medicine. This is a big question for me when I take the elective: how much medicine will I get to use in neurosurgery?
Less clear connection to community health research/health education work - I don’t know that it’d be impossible to do this work, but I definitely think my opportunities would be limited, and it would be more difficult to incorporate this into my career.
No primary care - obviously
Please feel free to chime in with any thoughts.

“Well, damn, I think we’re playing this Seven Minutes in Heaven game a little wrong, are we not?”
Between the both of them, Ronan had spoken first. The silence for the past half-minute had been deafening, with the noise of those outside the closet an almost distant thrum. With the gap of two years since their last encounter, the whole situation was uncomfortable. And terribly awkward.
Adam wasn’t sure whether he wanted to kill him, or...
“Why did you go here tonight?” Adam hoped that Ronan flinched. “You knew I was going to be here.”
“Ah,” Ronan sounded mildly offended. “Because I’m the kind of ex that just knows where you’ll be every day of the week. Of course.”
“Not like that, dumbass. If you don’t already know--”
“I do know. You’re dating Chris, the best friend of the host of this party, and part of the rowing team. Yeah. I got it.”
It sounded like the drone of class recitation. A significant part of Adam really wanted to punch him.
“Then why are you here?”
“Gansey dragged me along. Said it was about time I stopped being single.”
An ache made its way into Adam’s chest, and Adam thanked his stars that the closet was relatively dark on his end. He didn’t know whether or not he should correct what Ronan just said about Chris, who had broken things off just this afternoon. The only reason he was here was because the bars near campus were all full, and he seriously needed a drink.
Very unlike him to seek alcohol, especially when his classes this semester were particularly demanding, but exams weren’t for another two weeks anyway.
Adam, you know I absolutely love that you’re so school-oriented. It’s just...
Just what?
Chris had fiddled with his phone, not wanting to look him in the eye. It’s just... I don’t think we fall on the same spectrum. Y’know. In terms of priorities.
Adam had braced himself for a fight. Hmm. Fine. And you think I should be the one to adjust. Cool.
No, you wouldn’t have to do that. I think... for both our sake, we should break up.
Adam had said nothing, merely gave a huge enough sigh that Chris had thought he was absolutely devastated.
Adam wouldn’t go so far as to say that he expected it. It was just that...by now, he had thought that Chris already understood that he wouldn’t be able to move up from his spot on the priority list, which went academics and then everything else.
But I mean, we can still be friends, yeah? Chris had pulled Adam into a hug, and Adam had barely registered how he felt about the whole thing as he nodded dumbly on Chris’ shoulder. In that moment, all he could think about was getting back to the paper he had been writing.
Chris wasn’t at the party later that night, which gave Adam the hint that he was genuinely sad about the whole thing. And Adam was too. Only a little bit, but he really was. Chris was a great guy, and they’ve been dating for almost three months. Chris was opinionated and good-humored, and was able to keep an intellectually stimulating conversation with Adam around half the time.
Also, he was gorgeous.
A few hours after the breakup, after Adam had done his paper and then a bit of processing, he found that he couldn’t tell when he had stopped.
Stopped putting as much effort as he was expected to, to make things work. Stopped looking forward to seeing Chris. Stopped caring about when Chris told him how his day was, stopped being excited to tell Chris about his.
At the end of everything, Adam had realized that he was just... tired.
And that things with Chris, as much as he had tried (and oh, did he try), could never be the same as--
“And yet you’ve landed yourself in here. With me.” Adam knocked his head back, closing his eyes. The bottle just had to point itself at Adam, not at the guy next to him. Some guy named Dan. Maybe if it were him, Ronan’s time in here would’ve been more worthwhile. Stupid beer bottle.
“Well, we can just... sit here and do nothing, if that’s what you want. We’ve got around five minutes more.”
The closet was big enough that they didn’t need to stay close to each other. It smelled of dust and fabric softener. Adam found a wall to lean back against, and slid down to the floor, bringing his knees up and hugging them.
There was a few seconds of fumbling on Ronan’s end, until Adam’s eyes burned against the light bulb above. He blinked up against the brightness and frowned.
“Found the stupid switch,” Adam heard Ronan mumble, then he heard a thump, not too far from him. Ronan had decided to sit next to him.
And for the next half minute or so, they sat in silence. Adam looked down at his shoes, swallowing the lump in his throat. Even with the space of years between them, Adam wondered if this was how he wanted things to go. If he wanted the both of them to sit there and do nothing. His body was so, so heavy with fatigue, and he wanted nothing more than to go home.
To go home and feel like it was home.
“Um--”
“Ro--”
Ronan’s surprised laugh was muffled by his hand. He tilted his head up and against the wall. “You first.”
“I...” And Adam could’ve said many things.
There were so many things he needed to get out.
Instead, he went for, “I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.”
Ronan’s head rolled sideways to look at him. And that patience, that understanding, the part of Ronan that had made the biggest hole in Adam’s heart when Ronan had left, was clear as day.
“It’s our senior year, and I still hold that sentiment, Parrish.”
“It’s not like me, you know? I’ve always... always been... been me. And nothing, not any class, not any bully, not even any bad relationship, had gotten in the way of that. And that worked out fine for me.”
“You still hold top spot in all your classes. Probably.”
Top two in his physics class, but Adam wasn’t about to admit that. “But then I’ve never felt this... this helpless. I’m just so...? Done with it all. Nothing in my life feels worth it anymore. It’s hard.”
And maybe Adam felt something tug in his chest when Ronan inched closer, sliding against the wall, until they touched shoulders. He didn’t even know if they were past seven minutes already.
“Listen, Adam,” Ronan said, voice a little rough. “I know I may not be the best person for this type of crap, but I know you have it in you to get back up and make things better for yourself. It’s what I’ve always admired you for, you know? Being able to do that. You have other people around you who believe in you. Gansey and Noah and Sargent. Maybe Cheng, if you get to see him around. Your teachers, because I’m sure as hell you’re buddy-buddy with a lot of them. Those guys on the decathlon team.” He cleared his throat a bit. “And of course, there’s that one person who keeps you together every step of the way.” Ronan shook his head, a small smile on his face. “You can’t forget that.”
He probably meant Chris. Adam sighed, closing his eyes again. His next words were so soft, and yet it seemed like they filled the closet.
“Chris and I are done, Ronan.”
A beat of silence followed, which felt a lot longer than it actually was.
Then, Ronan’s voice was low and dark. “Did he hurt you?”
“No.”
“Then why?”
A tear had left Adam’s eye before he could help it, and it felt onto his jacket sleeve. He sniffled and shook his head. Ronan shot him a concerned look.
“It was--ah, God--many things, I guess. He broke it off. Said he didn’t have the same priorities as I did. Which was... fine. I’m not sad about it.” Adam stared straight ahead. “It was probably a long time coming.”
Ronan was silent after that, and Adam understood. It was because in this moment, he didn’t know his place with Adam yet.
“I don’t think I loved him,” Adam continued, answering one of the questions Ronan was probably itching to ask. He felt Ronan tense beside him. “We never said the words to each other either. He was great, but... I don’t think there was ever that pull. We were together for quite a bit, but it never got to that point.”
“How long?”
“Almost three months.”
“Shit.”
“I know. I don’t know how I even made it past one.”
And Ronan laughed then, loud and true, and hearing it made Adam’s heart jump. Just a little.
But enough that Adam had laughed a bit too.
“You are many things tonight, Adam Parrish, and one of them is a complete asshole.”
“I deserve a prize or some shit for my level of tolerance.”
Ronan shook his head in amusement, and looked up at the ceiling again. The tension between them had eased considerably, a huge weight falling off of Adam’s shoulders. Adam wondered if this was what it felt like to be removed from everything he had to do, everything he had to be.
“You deserve so much better, yeah?” Ronan said, knocking his head once against Adam, and Adam felt that tug again, a little stronger this time. “You’ll be okay.”
Relief flooded Adam’s system, and Ronan was near him, was so close to him that the cogs in Adam’s brain were starting to malfunction. He was just broken up with a few hours ago, for fuck’s sake. He shouldn’t be feeling like this.
It shouldn’t feel this right.
“Guys?” Two knocks on the door came, and Adam mentally cursed. Fucking seven minutes. “Time’s up. I know you guys must be enjoying, though, but hurry up.”
Laughter came from the rest of the people outside, amidst shouts of Get a room! and Aren’t you guys broken up already, anyway? Ronan exhaled steadily.
“I guess we’re done here,” he said, and Adam felt all the peace drain from him as Ronan moved away and stood up. Ronan offered a hand, then withdrew it when Adam shook his head.
“Suit yourself,” Ronan said, turning around, and Adam just couldn’t take it anymore.
“Wait. Ronan. Stop. I--” Adam did his best to scramble to his feet, his legs not taking kindly to being suddenly held upright. He held onto the wall for leverage.
“Something wrong?”
Adam was frustrated now, as more knocks came from outside. “Okay. It can’t just be me.”
“What--”
“Do you not feel it too? Ronan. Ronan. I get it now. Or... at least I think I do. It’s been too fucking long. And you’re finally here.”
Ronan crossed his arms. Something moved along his features, as if he was trying to make sense of the matter. “But you broke up with me. Why should there be anything--”
“I don’t know, okay? I don’t know why I’m feeling something. But it feels right, Ronan, it feels like we fit. And we might’ve ended on one of the worst possible notes back then, but believe me when I say that ours was the last time I ever tried to fight for a relationship.”
Adam had taken too much out of himself with that monologue, and he slumped back against the wall, barely holding himself up. He was breathing a little heavily, but he wasn’t done.
“The others that followed, they all went as easily as they came, because I never tried to make them stay. There was nothing compelling me to do so. But you, Ronan. We fought so much, and each time, I was so, so scared I was going to lose you. It did get to a point where we had to go our separate ways. It really was too much to handle back then. But now. Now I see why the others didn’t mean as much. As much as I tried to forget about all of it, I don’t think I ever stopped feeling the way I felt about you.”
Ronan’s hands were clenched into fists as Adam finished, chest heaving a little.
Then, Ronan surged forward, cupping Adam’s face with his hands as he kissed him.
It was a mix of grief and relief and anger and happiness and pain and regret, and Adam wrapped his arms around Ronan, holding him as close as possible. Ronan’s tongue licked into Adam’s mouth, and it was everything Adam had been missing since all those years ago. Adam’s face was streaked with more tears now, because he didn’t realize he was holding onto so damn much. Now, he was more than ready to let everything go.
They pulled apart after a few minutes, Adam resting his forehead against Ronan’s and Ronan wiping Adam’s tears away. The knocks became louder, more insistent.
“Go the fuck away, asshole!” Ronan turned to shout at the door.
“Heh. Classy.”
“You’re one to fucking talk.” Ronan’s arm slipped around Adam’s body.
And as much as Adam wanted to continue the kissing (because the drought had lasted so long and he was here, he was here), they still needed to finish talking.
“Ro’, if we do this again, I... I wouldn’t know what to do if we fucked up again.”
Ronan looked Adam in the eyes, a determined look on his face. Adam’s heart was beating hard against his chest, and he took a deep breath to calm himself down.
“I can’t promise that we won’t, Adam.” And Ronan’s other hand went up to cup Adam’s jaw. “But I swear that I will be with you to fix things if we do.”
It was honesty, brutal and real, and Adam held onto it like a lifeline. He nodded, closing the space between them and kissing Ronan again, a little slower this time around.
Because if Ronan could admit to their shared humanity, their similar capability to make mistakes, then maybe this time around, everything will be alright.

I'm pretty sure you're still doing these but libra sun/virgo moon? I checked your masterpost and it said to please request this placement so here I am lol
Hey there!!! 💞💞💞💞 yessss perfect I’ll do this now thank u for requesting!! 💞💞💞
[Below Cut: Libra Sun - Virgo Moon 🍢]
SMART but like subtle and sometimes a simplier unconventional kind of smart y know?
Clever would be a better world, these people are clever clever alecs
First of all Witty and BanterFULL!!  You might often identify yourself through your quick witted-ness banter with others, intellectual stimulation is how u keep it 💯 with people around you!
When you can be honest, speak your truths say what you mean straight-forwardly it means you trust them to an extent (because you’re usually v aware/senses people’s comfortability level with you and that Matters to you)
Combine that with joking/having a sense of humour that’s compatible to yours ---you Know those who can take/handle it are Keepers 💯 for u!
It’s in the MIND that’s important, social relationship is important yes and with the Libra/Virgo combination-- sometimes you’re really bashful of compliments, or direct/heavy praises because both these signs are light-weight (air/mercury) and you also tend to think of yourself as y know, just being a good person/friend and lending an ear to someone.
Even when you don’t have to (so nice) you do kind of want to be low-key rewarded with people having a good impression of you, of being well-liked enough that you don’t have to approach someone, but they approach you instead (Libra/Virgo)  of having a good social standing and presentation (Libra) -- that’s why you do your best to be kind, pleasant, cordial.
Common sense and judgement combined makes for someone who’s supportive of others, lenient but also no-nonsense (controlling occasionally, wants the best for others, brings up valid points) look out/take care of others subtlety in your own ways.
You’re kind but also you’re protective of that kindness-- that it could be taken advantage of by certain people at certain time if you’re ‘weak’ or give into obsession with something/someone too much.
Your Virgo Moon is logical and rational, combine that with Libra’s astuteness makes for someone who can be polite usually, level-headed and sometimes even professional ‘cold’ when you want to be (not like, overt aggression even though you may vent inside)
Your environment is a big deal considering your Virgo placement-- it’s kind of like an amplifier for Libra. If there’s tension in your environment, if anything is in disarray, if something catches your eyes or your environment isn’t up to your standard/preference--- your perfectionist streak comes out and you start obsessing over it because your Libra cannOT handle this (amped up by Virgo making it y know-- clonk in your mind until your Libra has to deal with it NOW instead of later)
Also,, you Do Not Get Emotionally Vulnerable About your Deepest Darkest Personal Fear About Another Person Ever
Things like feeling cheap, used, feeling like you’re not worth much. Feeling like you’re disposable or not valuable enough for others to see worth in/worth keeping.
These fear of ‘possibilities/future’ that has to do with yourself (and low key your self-worth with another person) is Never Going To See the Light with those around you.
Intimacy is the thing?? Like you may be scared of unequal relationship. With Libra/Virgo person there’s a certain degree of independence and Knowing You’re the Shit because you CAN Control it (which is why you pull your energy into manifestation in work, in yourself, in keeping yourself contained --- demand respect, rationalize why you deserve it. Know how others/yourself should be treated because of distance/tact/personal diplomacy that you have.)
---But when it comes to others?? And how they think/feel/treat you?? Yikes sometimes you fear that they might treat you wrong, abuse or mistreat you. And it’s that cautious and highly critical part of Virgo moon (imagination vs practicality) that makes you kind of afraid that things you can’t control (others) is going to hurt you if you give it too much power/surrender yourself to it
It’s not a big deal in everyday life, but long-term wise it’s important to figure out your own fears. Libra sun would absolutely REFUSE to acknowledge their own emotional need for others (aka their love/want for romantic intimacy and their fantasies for them) and your Virgo Moon enables that. You’re creating a system that’s sabotaging your goals/wants/needs to ‘settle for something more realistic/less personal’ even though you want romance?? You want all the good gooey shit you just?? Don’t want to acknowledge or work for it??? (and can sometimes overdo your niceness to make up for it, or let your timidity makes you reserved or cold towards others even though you want to stand up and show them who you are, feel valued and desired)
Virgo Moon in their everyday life sort through things and goes ‘this is unproductive?? what can i/am i going to do about it??' -- nothing you can change, or work on, so keep it out of sight and out of mind. You toss out the thought and work on the now but its STILL a part of your motivation, your anxiety, why you put your energy into other things so hard and much. Because THIS tension inside of you ISN’T released y know?
It’s MUTABLE so you’re always going to be nervous, slightly anxious about it. You need need want but you’re afraid (and low-key lazy) at sorting through your personal wants/needs desires and putting your foot down to do it.
Self-discipline is important, learning to look and acknowledge. To come to terms with true self-love and not self-sabotage is important for you.
You’re afraid of acknowledging and getting what you finally want, because most of the time you procrastinate or put off long-term life-changing manifestation because you don’t want to ‘commit’
Be good to yourself, treat yourself well. Buckle down sometimes and learn how to --- y know, express yourself fully and vulnerably.
Talk to someone who can give you a listen, who can wait for you to finally admit your true desires out loud and let you work through it yourself.
With your combination, it’s just a matter of self-admittance that’s hard. You don’t really need anyone to come along and tell you what you want/need, you intuitively know what it is you’re just afraid to say it into existence because it makes things ‘real’.
Get to talking-- it’s how your Moon works. What your Virgo needs is jus a little self-discipline because Libra in your sun (ego) can make you delude yourself into thinking you can wait around longer or not talk about it. It’s important that you learn how to make your Virgo speak up, get some clarity. Because you’re always going to want to please others somewhat and it BOTHERS you and this is the way to?? actually get to resolving it. You just have a problem with confrontation in yourself (and thus, lack of self-assertion as the consequence of it)
Once you start talking, even though it’ll take time (earth moon) you’ll slowly uncover parts of yourself and become stronger through realizing your vulnerabilities isn’t something that is bad at all (or as serious as you think, rather it’s normal and a shared experience other people also feel as well!)
You’ll learn how to use it to strengthen you and work through it healthily, instead of avoiding the problem which you tend to do!
Let me put it this way? Some Libras (you) have a hard time understanding because your emotions runs deep/heavy and you’re kinda low-key terrified you’re gonna scare people off ??
That’s why you never talk about shit unless you can ‘sense’ that the other person is receptive or open to it, heavy stuff drains you so you never really try as much to keep it going (once in a while). Your emotionality is kinda dried up sometimes, not your anxiety but your actual vulnerabilities.
Sometimes you may like to keep it cool--- keep it contained and smoothened out on the surface. Problems?? Nah maybe This and This but NEVER That haha ;; -- letting others in or know your problem is hard. But the key lesson here is to communicate.
Combine Virgo-- a nocturnal mercury sign-- with Libra’s venusian/social relationship trait. Utilize Libra’s cardinal nature to make it happen for you!
In order to do that you have to communicate first. Bring the self out so others can catch you and be there with you (emotionally)
Being able to feel like you belong, as part of a group/community and that your fears/feelings are validated is important. Becoming truly emotionally empathetic to others because your own hurt/pain/secret is out in the light now is important for your growth/self-development too!
It’s the way your practical nature and good-head-on-the-shoulder Libra/Virgo nature can shine honestly and freely (without the stress/tension you carry prior). It becomes more open and honest, more willing to learn. Release?? Tension within yourself??
Because what you were doing before is keeping it in?? Keeping it contained and that’s self-protection ok but ALSO burdening/heavy on you. Learn to trust others to carry your weight this way too.
Phew anyways!!💓💓💓 I hope this is helpful!! 💓💓 Good luck!! 💓💓💓

Hello, I wondering if you were still doing those compatibility posts. If so could you do my apprentice Cya, Aquarius and Julian?
I sure am! 🔮
Cya ♒ (1/20 - 2/18) - Fixed, AirRuled by: Uranus
Julian ♓ (2/19 - 3/20) - Mutable, WaterRuled by: Neptune
Air and water couples tend to drive each other a little crazy. As far as some other signs are concerned, these two are already a little crazy, in ways that are sometimes complementary, and sometimes not so much.
sex & intimacy - ⭐⭐⭐⭕⭕At first glance, these two don’t seem well-suited for each other. Pisces is looking for feeling and romance, and Aquarius is notoriously distant; where Aquarius wants casual fun free of complicated emotions, Pisces is seeking an emotional connection. However, mutable Pisces has no problem keeping up with speedy air signs, and Aquarius will be impressed by his creativity. Fixed Aquarius may not share their partner’s enthusiasm, but if they allow themselves to be caught up in their experimental, exhilarating sex life, their emotions will come easier, and Pisces will be able to loosen up.
trust - ⭐⭐⭐⭕⭕Trust for this couple fluctuates between extremes. They both fear commitment, which tempts them to hide and lie, but they’re also both notorious over-sharers, so deceptions won’t last long. Aquarius has a rebellious streak that can be a little too rough for Pisces, and Pisces’ emotional dependency can appear to be a threat to Aquarius’ freedom. Their biggest asset is their ability to understand each other on a fundamental level. Pisces can see through the mists to Aquarius’ soft side, and Aquarius coaxes out their partner’s shaky confidence, making them both feel safe to commit.
communication - ⭐⭐⭕⭕⭕This couple has their heads in the clouds. While they’ll be drawn to each other as fellow dreamers, the lack of reality in their relationship makes it tough to see where the problems are. Mutable Pisces is willing to negotiate his opinions, which Aquarius sees as a lack of backbone, and while Aquarius loves a good intellectual debate, sensitive Pisces is likely to get hurt. Aquarius can be a useful dose of logic to keep Pisces from getting lost, and Pisces can give weight to Aquarius’ ideas, but they’ll have to learn how to engage with each other from a place of respect.
emotions - ⭐⭕⭕⭕⭕Despite their shared idealism, Aquarius prefers to be impersonal and private, while Pisces is ready for a whirlwind romance and a partner he can get lost in. Distance from his partner will make Pisces lonely, while Pisces’ emotional rollercoaster is smothering to Aquarius. However, Pisces is ruled by Neptune, which is exalted in Aquarius, so they both have an appreciation for and understanding of depth, intuition, and sensitivity. If they can find how that manifests in each other, they’ll be able to work toward comfortable emotional intimacy and boundaries.
values - ⭐⭐⭐⭕⭕Love for humanity, change, inspiration, and dreams are their shared values, although they manifest very differently. Pisces is the artist, finding love and beauty in the world around them, while Aquarius is the activist, following their heart to a strong sense of justice and liberty. At first, they might think their priorities are different, but over time, they’ll come to appreciate the other’s way of walking the same path.
interests - ⭐⭐⭕⭕⭕ Both signs are hungry for change and stimulation. They love surprising each other, and Aquarius has no trouble keeping mutable Pisces interested. However, their instincts will take them in two different directions. Romantic Pisces will be intrigued by activities that lead to closeness and physical pleasure, while Aquarius leans toward activities that stir up adrenaline and stimulating conversations. They will have to cobble together some unusual-looking dates to make sure both their needs are satisfied.
Overall ⭐ 2.33It isn’t easy to make Pisces’ ideal harlequin romance fit into Aquarius’ political thriller, but these two Neptune-heavy signs believe in magic. They don’t necessarily understand each other’s personalities, but they do understand their partner’s core, and if these two flighty signs will sit down to do it, they have a lot of potential for wild, intimate love. ♒♓💖

So my father has a tendency to make fun of femininity, especially romance. As a result, I always associated romance with the "hollywood romance" archtype, but recently read a romance novel and... actually liked it. All my life I've been told teen girls who liked romance were daft, but now I'm one of them & I'm afraid someone I know will find out. How do I learn not to feel ashamed about liking romance? I feels embarassing, even though I know there's technichally nothing wrong with it. :-(
Oh wow, this is a pretty heavy question. First, I just want to acknowledge that it really sucks to know that people close to you will look down on something you enjoy when they really shouldn’t.
Secondly, I think one of the most important things to internalize in life is that there are no guilty pleasures as long as your pleasure isn’t harming yourself or another person. You’re the only person who can - and is - living your life on this world, so why should other people get to dictate your interests and what you’re allowed to or should enjoy? I can empathize with how hard it is to un-learn shame though; I think recently I’ve just been doing my best to transform that thread of embarrassment into rage and owning up to what I love.
I also disagree with the notion that people who enjoy romance are daft, so you don’t even have to worry about being “one of those”. Note: there is absolutely nothing wrong in having a “daft” interest either! Heck, I bet some people would say that Simone Giertz who does her best to make useless robots has a “daft” interest, but jokes on them when she got to do a TED talk. Besides, I’m also sure there are people out there who get ridiculous delight at seeing her robots and isn’t that enough? Because I sure as heck think that’s more than enough.
Seriously, what counts as a non-”daft” interest anyway? Nitty gritty realism? Violence? Intellectual and deep philosophical works? Sports? I’ll betcha your dad has something he enjoys that you see is just as “daft”. I don’t believe a person can spend every single waking moment doing or engaging in something deep and stimulating because that’d just burn out their brain.
It’s also been repeated through history that whatever women get into goes through extreme judgment and dissing from men before they try to take the space over (see: science fiction (star trek), horror (Frankenstein), music (The Beatles), coding, etc etc.) so once again I wouldn’t put much weight on people’s opinions of hating on what women enjoy or what’s considered a “feminine” interest.
Unfortunately, I don’t have anything like a 4-step process to unlearning shame and what seems like internalized misogyny, but what might help is realizing that you don’t have to disclose all your interests to people around you. If you know they won’t understand and won’t bother to try and understand, then I don’t think there’s a point in trying to defend yourself against their judgment. Fortunately, social media nowadays makes it so that you don’t have to limit yourself to your physical social circle and you can easily find communities of people with similar interests.
Ultimately, it comes down to being comfortable with accepting what makes you happy (if it doesn’t harm yourself or other people). And when you boil it down to that, doesn’t it sound rather silly to hear someone judging you on what makes you happy? No one judges (in seriousness) someone’s favorite color. Why do you have a favorite season? Why do you have a favorite food? Why do you have a favorite anything? It makes you happy. And that’s enough. That’s more than enough.

I woke up with his arms around me and I hated it. I hated everything about it. The way he held me was wrong, the way he said my name was wrong, the way he tried to understand me was wrong. But it wasn’t his fault, he was decent, he just didn’t understand. And I wouldn’t let him. I couldn’t let him. I couldn’t bring myself to let him see me on such an intellectual level, especially since I thought so lowly of him.
I sighed and pushed his arms off of me. A small groan escapes his lips and I roll my eyes at the sound, finding it utterly obnoxious. I pulled on my clothes and headed for the door without leaving a trace that I was ever here.
I couldn’t do it anymore. The pretending was exhausting. I so desperately had wanted this to work out for once, to experience all of the things everyone else around me had experienced, or was experiencing. It simply wasn’t fair, the way this whole thing went for me. I’d given it my all until my all simply wasn’t enough.
I drove quickly towards the only house I could ever imagine myself being at the moment. Upon arriving I turned off my phone, so I could forget Jake ever existed. That this last month didn’t happen. I knocked feverishly at the door, the morning air nipping at my skin. I really should’ve grabbed a jacket or something of the sorts.
Ashton opened to door moments later, my teeth chattered as I stared at him. He looked at me with a bewildered expression. I could only imagine my appearance, last night's clothes mixed with this mornings, and my hair doing god knows what. I smiled anyway as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and tugged me inside.
My head fell to his chest and his arms didn’t hesitate to wrap around me. He placed a soft kiss to my temple before tugging me back down the hall. I could only guess he wanted to go to sleep. I hadn’t a clue what time it even was. But, after tossing and turning until the sun rose, I couldn’t wait any longer to leave. I followed behind him silently, wanting to feel his arms around me comfortably in his bed, snug against his chest. Our walk down the hall was slow since he was still asleep, but I didn’t mind him. He plopped down on his bed, pulling me with him. He sleepily pulled the covers over us, still refusing to let go of my body. I helped his fumbling hands, pulling the cover to our chins. He hummed in appreciation, his eyes closing softly as he rests his head against the pillow. I turn in his arms so my back is to his front and he sighs, complete comfortability encasing his lean figure.
“Missed you.” He hums against my neck and I smile softly to myself. This was how I wanted it to be. Unexplained, reciprocated, and understood. Something easy, someone I could trust without focusing too hard on trusting. A mutual understanding of each others intellect. But, as much as I wished I could, I could never have that with Ash. I wasn’t his type, so to speak. He was into the leggy girls with long bouncy hair and beautiful clear skin. I was just his frumpy best friend.
I studied the differences in our complexions as his arms held me close to him. He was so much lighter than I was and I often wondered if that was why he never considered me as anything more than a friend. I wondered if that was what was holding him back from loving me the way I wanted him to. He understood me completely fine, I just needed him to love me. My melanin stuck out drastically against his paler, pinker skin. I didn’t mind the difference in our complexions. I liked it. It just showed how despite our physical make up we were still completely the same on the inside. Two humans capable of love and deep conversation. Our backgrounds were very similar though we came from different cultures.
But as much as my pessimistic mind wanted me to, I couldn’t bring myself to believe that Ash felt this way. That he could be so closed minded to dating someone of a different race than him. He was the most stimulating person I’ve ever met and he wouldn’t, he couldn’t, let me down that way. My eyes studied how he pulled me closer to him, holding me tightly to his chest. And how he’d said ‘missed you’ like he’d been waiting for me to come home to him. He couldn’t be that shallow, it wasn’t in his chemical makeup. He was my Ash through and through. The heavy rise and fall of his chest soon lulled me to sleep peacefully. I was relaxed and unnerved.
I was awoken again by Ashton’s strong arms trying to turn me to face him. I peered my eyes open slowly, tiredness overcoming me as I groaned. I knew I wasn’t making whatever he was trying to do any easier, I was practically dead weight, but I also couldn’t understand what he was trying to even do. “Ash.” I groaned as his hands pulled at my hips again. “Closer. Want you closer.” He huffed. I opened my eyes fully to see his still closed, his arms reached out for me. I turned around so my chest was towards his, resting my head in the crook of neck. He sighed in relief, his body relaxing under my touch. His fingers grazed along my back, relaxing me back into a state of comatose. I looked at the clock over Ash’s shoulder, it was almost 11. I groaned, it was too late to sleep any longer.
“Ashton.” I sighed and rested my head on his chest out of exhaustion. “Hmm.” He hummed. Well, more like harrumphed, his chest lifting with the sound. His hands tightened around me to pull me impossibly closer to him, not that I minded. My head was dizzy with thoughts that I was embarrassed about having, I really hated that I was enjoying this. “Ah, u-uh, Ash. It’s late, we should get up.” I stammered. I brushed his unruly hair off his forehead. His eyes didn’t open, instead he shoved his face into my neck. His warm breath tickled at my neck which made my head numb, and my heart stutter.
“Little longer.” I heard him say. He placed a slow kiss to the exposed skin at my shoulder. It wasn’t odd for him to do so, but it still made me gasp. I tangled my fingers through his hair involuntarily, which made him groan and grip at my sides. I tried not to be obvious that I was enjoying this, but he was so enticing. I hated that he could act this way and have no feelings for me. I hate that he thinks this is platonic. This was anything but. Whenever Jake tried things like this I was always repulsed. But this, this was frustratingly sexy. He didn’t see it that way though. This was just him being him. Ash was handsy, but I’d grown use to the extra affection. In fact, I loved it. I was torturing myself by not putting an end to this, but I was enjoying it. I could let it destroy me mentally later.
“No, Ash.” I whispered. I didn’t trust my voice to say it any louder, it’d probably come out as a moan. “You smell good. But, you smell like Jake too. Don’t like that.” I could feel his lips tug into a frown at my neck. He moved away from my neck after that, his face contorted into one of distaste. Ash never was much of a fan of Jake, and he was never secretive about it. I could recall a number of times Ashton had made Jake feel especially uncomfortable. And not to mention, jealous. He’d purposely touch me in ways where, if you didn’t know Ash, were subtly inappropriate. This, of course, made Jake furious. I had to listen to him groan about it the whole way back to his place. I also had to do some un-namely acts just to make him shut up.
“I’m done with him.” I muttered, running my hands through my curls, my fingers getting stuck in the process. This made Ashton wake up, his bright eyes fixed on mine. I chuckled at his excitement, it was rather annoying. He could be happy with all the girls he pleased, but god forbid I did anything that didn’t involve him. “Good. I mean, why?” I rolled my eyes at his unsympathetic expression. “Do you care or do you just want to revel in the fact that I’m unhappy?” I snorted. I turned in his arms so he couldn’t see how annoyed he was actually making me. But, he could tell anyway. He knew me. “Of course I care. I’m sorry. I just...didn’t like him as all. Only want the best for you, love.” He moves the hair from my neck before nuzzling his face into the skin, kissing below my ear. His cool lips were tantalizing, making my head spin, making me forget why I was mad.
“I didn’t like him how I wanted myself too. He’s a nice guy, Ash. You never gave him a chance.” I huffed. His large hands rubbed at my shoulders. He knew he was upsetting me. Although I usually didn’t mind the gesture, now I found it manipulative. I push his hands off of me,and I turned to see his face in a grimace. “I just like you to myself is all. I’m sorry Y/N. Seriously.” He spoke. His hand rose up to caress my chin. “That’s incredibly selfish.” My frown deepens. I wasn’t sorry for making him feel bad. He should feel bad. He was being such an asshole.
He sighed deeply, his eyes closing. His needy hands reached for my hips, grasping at the long shirt I’m wearing. I annoyedly push his hands away again. “Ash, this is what I’m talking about. You can’t just do that! I’m a person. You’re best friend.” I whispered the last bit, a ping of disappointment settling in my stomach. His grip loosened and he used his hand to wipe over his face. “Gosh, Y/N. I know. You are a human, my favorite human. And I don’t know how else to say that I’m sorry than to just hold you close. I’m sorry. I am, and I know it’s selfish but, i just think no one deserves you. You’re just so wonderful.” He pushed my hair away from my face, his fingers lingering at my temple. My eyes bore into his, waiting for him to continue, waiting for him to finish what he’d started. I wanted him to tell me what I’d wanted him to say. My eyes fluttered closed in dismay when he didn’t. That was it, that was all he had to say. “Thanks, Ash.” I managed to say though I wanted to cry.
I didn’t object when he pulled me to him. I buried my head in his neck. It hurt to think that the person who could make me feel the worst, could also make me feel better in the same act. It was nothing short of agony to be in love with him and not have it reciprocated. But at the same time, I wouldn’t change it if meant Ashton leaving my life.
“Something’s wrong.” He murmured. I groaned, clutching my arms around his neck and pushing my face further into his neck. I didn’t want to talk about this. “M’fine.” I shook my head. He didn’t buy it, but he let me be anyways. His fingers circled over my back, creating abstract shapes. He let his finger wander underneath the baggy t-shirt I was wearing and I sighed, content with him. This was all I wanted. But in a less platonic way.
“You look darker than usual, richer.” He marveled. “Have you been in the sun?” I nodded. “It’s stunning.” He hums, his hands at my arms now and all my previous worries dissipate. I hum a thank you into his neck, my lips etched into a smile. I place a soft kiss to his skin, no longer mad at him, yet still completely in love with him. He continued to lead his hands astray against my skin. “You’re stunning, you know that?” He suddenly spoke, his warm hands never leaving my skin. I pulled my head away from his neck to look at him. He eyes bore into mine and i was slightly confused. Ash always touched and voiced what he wanted, but compliments were rare. It made my heart swell to hear him say something like that to me. Truthfully, I was over the moon. “Thank you.” I couldn’t help my smile from growing as his grew, the dimples in his cheeks appearing deeper.
“I don’t tell you enough and I should.” He murmured. “I think it but I never…” He trails off, placing his forehead on mine. I hadn’t a clue what was going on but I wasn’t going to stop him. “Ash,” I started my eyes boring into his. I didn’t know what I wanted to say, but I had to tell him. “Yes, darling.” He waited patiently.. My hands began to sweat. I was about to tell him everything I’ve ever felt for him. “I love you, Ash.” I admitted. My eyes darted everywhere but his, I didn’t want to see the rejection in his eyes.
“I know.” His hand gripped my chin, my eyes diverting immediately to him to see him smile softly. “No, Ash I mean I-“
“I know, my love.” He said. A thousand emotions swarmed my stomach. He couldn’t possibly have known, I wasn’t that obvious. Or so I thought. “I’ve known.” He hummed, brushing at my hair. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion at his confession.
“And you said nothing?” I scoffed. He chuckled slightly only agitating me more. “Y/N, I wasn’t ready to admit to myself that someone like you could be in love with someone like me. I didn’t want to be embarrassed if I confessed and you really didn’t love me.” He shrugged nervously. I smiled at him softly, my hand reaching up to caress his stubbly cheek. He leaned into my touch, his eyes fluttering closed.
“You’re incredibly annoying.” I chuckled jokingly. A smile etched into his tired features. “You love me though.” He hums. “I’m completely in love with you.” It was such a relief to finally be able to say that, and it was even more of a relief to see him smile when i said it. “I love you so much.” He responds, tugging me closer. “I should call Jake and thank him for for fucking up.” Ashton jokes, his nose nudging at my cheek. “Shut up.” I swat at him before he closes his mouth over my own, capturing my lips in his.

tw: mental illness, drug use, addiction
Basic Information
Full Name: Jean Baptiste Sauvage
Nickname(s): Jack
Age: 36
Date of Birth: August 13th
Hometown: Paris, France
Current Location: Paris, France
Ethnicity: Malaysian
Nationality: French
Gender: Cis-Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Orientation: In modern terms, Jack is the type of person who would simply call himself “queer” and be done with it. For the purposes of this, though, he is demi- to aromantic and bisexual.
Religion: Atheist with some fringe interests in the occult.
Political Affiliation: General disinterest. He grew up in that world and has no desire to rejoin it.
Occupation: Film writer and director. Formerly (and occasionally still, a stage actor).
Living Arrangements: He lives in a small second story apartment. The neighborhood is rough but rent is cheap and no one bothers him.
Language(s) Spoken: French and English, fluently. His Spanish is conversational but broken and largely forgotten and most of the phrases he remembers are elicit and sexual. He speaks key phrases in several other European languages and can ask for a drink and a cigarette anywhere in the world.
Accent: Jack’s accent can be hard to place and depends largely what language he’s speaking in. Typically, his accent has a heavy upper-class London influence, especially when he’s speaking English. His French accent is also a bit watered down by the time he spent in London and America.
Physical Appearance
Face Claim: Henry Golding
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Dark Brown
Height: 6′2″
Weight: 210
Build: Average build. He is in shape and has built strength over the years by carrying heavy filming equipment around. His muscles, though, are generally toned but not overly defined.
Tattoos: TBD
Piercings: None
Clothing Style: It is rare to see Jack dressed down. At most he is wearing a full tailored suit. At the least he’s wearing slacks and a crisp button down shirt with a suit vest.
Usual Expression: Jack’s default expression can be described as either “vacant” or “hyper-focused” depending on the angle. When he is by himself, he tends to get lost in his own thoughts and his people watching. In groups, especially after a few drinks, he finds himself much more at ease and wears the subtle hints of a relaxed smile.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Jack has a faint scar across the bridge of his nose--the result of getting mugged during his first few weeks in Brooklyn.
Health
Physical Ailments: Jack is relatively healthy with no chronic physical issues.
Neurological Conditions: Though none of this will ever be addressed, diagnosed, or treated, Jack probably has Persistent Depressive Disorder as well as a mild form of Psychosis or a mild Dissociation Disorder. This presents in infrequent but extended periods of time in which Jack disconnects from reality entirely. He tends to self-medicate and withdraw from all of his social obligations. These episodes are characterized by mild auditory and visual hallucinations, though whether this is caused by his disorder or his drug use is undetermined. Jack, however, just views these episodes as a natural part of his creative process and will never seek any type of medical or psychological intervention.
Allergies: None.
Sleeping Habits: Jack is in an almost constant state of sleep deprivation. He has trouble putting himself to bed and turning his brain off in a timely manner. This could either be a symptom or a cause of his aforementioned dissociative episodes, though it will remain unclear which. Combined with his frequent late nights out on the town, social engagements that last until well in the morning, and late night bursts if artistic inspiration, Jack’s sleeping patterns are as erratic as they are infrequent. He is always late to bed but early to rise and on a normal night he can expect to get around 3-5 hours of sleep with an hour-long nap or two somewhere in the day.
Eating Habits: Jack is not an overly picky eater, but he does tend to lean towards a healthy diet by default. He doesn’t cook in his hope (he doesn’t know how) so most of his meals are from restaurants, bars, and markets in the city. He keeps a sparse amount of food in his home, mostly alcohol and bread.
Exercise Habits: A lot of Jack’s physical exercise comes from things he does on a regular basis, rather than time set aside to devote to his fitness. He frequently moves heavy film equipment, sets up shots, hangs his own set pieces, etc. So, he gets a lot of physical exercise from what he does on a normal day. Additionally, Jack walks almost everywhere he goes.
Emotional Stability: Publicly, Jack is as stable as they come. It’s rare for anyone to see the cracks in his facade, but if people looked closely enough they’re definitely there. On a scale of 1 to 10, Jack would put himself firmly as a 9, ignoring how devastating his dissociative episodes can be for himself and anyone who happens to make contact with him during those times. Realistically, he’s probably a firm 5.
Sociability: Jack is a rather social creature by default. He enjoys spending time with others, but is highly selective of the people he chooses to surround himself with. He does not enjoy being part of a large crowd and will frequently find space to be alone if he is in a crowded venue. His personality doesn’t lend itself well to being the center of attention and he is normally fairly quick to shift that attention on to someone else. His interactions with people one-on-one take the form of in depth conversations with intensely probing questions. Jack takes an interest in people in a way that can make them feel as if he genuinely wants to know them. What they don’t know is that Jack has a bad habit of viewing people as source material rather than actual human beings.
Body Temperature: Cold-Natured.
Addictions: Yes?
Drug Use: Jack’s drug use is as erratic as his sleeping habits. He is a heavy smoker, both of cigarettes and marijuana, though these are so widely available and frequently used he would hardly consider them drugs. His vice of choice is cocaine, of which he is almost a daily user. During episodes, however, he can extend into more dangerous and illicit narcotics including heroin and mescaline.
Alcohol Use: Jack is a social drinker. He always has a well stocked bar in his apartment but rarely drinks when he’s alone.
Personality
Label: The Cinephile
Positive Traits: Charming, creative, eccentric, intellectual, passionate, diligent, curious.
Negative Traits: Arrogant, careless, detached, dishonest, unstable, unreliable, messy.
Goals/Desires: Jack’s goals tend to be career oriented. Right now, his primary focus is making his next film. Everything outside of that is secondary. He doesn’t have many goals for his personal life, his love life, his family life, etc. His short term, daily goals all revolve around stimulation of some kind. Be it intellectual, emotional, physical. He’s always looking for something to inspire and motivate him.
Fears: Jack’s primary fears are failure and, by extension, fading into obscurity. He is on top of the world right now. His most recent film was a critical success but that was nearly two years ago. His ideas for his next film are fragmented and vague, he fears that he will never be able to piece them together. He also fears loneliness. Jack is a man who, despite his efforts to get to know people, only ever emerges with surface level relationships. He has hundreds of acquaintances whom he knows very well but feels little to no emotional connection to. This is, in part, because Jack has a tendency to view people as subjects and source material rather than emotional beings with wants and needs. This is also because he feels deeply uncomfortable letting other people into his life for fear of rejection. Jack doesn’t see himself as someone who is capable of having a meaningful connection with another person. And, though he’ll never admit it, this is something that makes him very sad.
Hobbies: Aside from the obvious acting, writing, filming, Jack enjoys a number of solitary hobbies. He is a voracious reader. His favorite author is HG Wells but his favorite book is Dracula. He is also a frequent people watcher. It is not at all uncommon to find him at a back table in a crowded night club either reading or jotting down notes about the individuals around him. Additionally, Jack has a tentative interest in the occult. He is not a practitioner by any means, nor is he completely sure he believes in the whole concept. But, he owns a few books on the subject and can occasionally be found to dabble in the rituals and research of it all.
Habits: In addition to the more destructive habits mentioned in the health section, Jack’s most noticeable tick is popping his knuckles. It’s a small thing, but in a man with such a tight fist around his public image, anything that seems compulsive is noteworthy.
Favourites
Weather: Rain.
Colour: Black.
Music: I don’t think Jack has a preference for any type of music. It’s all background noise to him and not something he actively seeks out.
Movies: His own, obviously. Aside from that, he is inspired by French and German techniques as well as the rising Spanish surrealist movement.
Sport: Any sport where dashing young men break a sweat.
Beverage: Alcoholic--Scotch. Non-Alcoholic: Earl Grey Tea.
Food: Jack acquired a taste for traditional Spanish cooking and there is nothing quite like it in Paris. He is always sad.
Animal: There is a fat orange cat who has recently taken up residence on his balcony. He feeds it scraps and calls it Kit (short for Kitten because? sure why not?). Gun to his head, that dumb cat is his favorite animal.
Family
Father: Rene Sauvage (d.)
Mother: Sylvie Sauvage, 61.
Sibling(s): None
Children: None
Pet(s): None.
Family’s Financial Status: Upper-class, incredibly wealthy. Jack was cut off from the family fortune through most of his life. Recently, however, his father left him a significant sum of money in his will as an effort to make amends with his estranged son.

Keeping your pet at a healthy weight reduces the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, respiratory disease, and more. Indeed, excess weight can reduce the life expectancy of your pet by more than two years.
Sudden epidemics like swine and bird flu are a good reminder that humans are not immune to the diseases that animals carry. These particular illnesses are more likely to affect people who work with animals regularly, such as on a farm, but being at risk to an animal's health can occur in your own home. Improper pet care can lead to illness, and a misbehaving pet can be dangerous for families.
At the same time, the presence of animals has been shown to increase the well-being of a person. The American Heart Association released a study this year that showed pet owners improved their cardiovascular pet health insurance . Animals are often used to help children with special needs or during hospital visits. Their presence can reduce loneliness, increase altruism, and reduce anxiety.

Understand your pet's natural tendencies
Before adopting a pet, know what role you want them to have in your family. Do you want a pet for companionship or to keep the house? Do you expect your pet to accompany you on your morning run? Can you afford to pay someone to look after your pet while you are working or while you are away on business?
“People should know enough about their animal when they have it and after they get it,” says Hendricks. "They also need to be open to the idea that they might not know as much as they thought they . Some dogs are meant to work, some need intellectual stimulation, and others need little exercise. Bulldogs, for example, are happy to get a lot of sleep around the house and show affection when you get home from work. Great Danes don't need to run a lot either.
Train your pet properly
Animal bites are the biggest risk to children's health when it comes to pets, says Hendricks. Avoiding this danger comes down to the first principle of understanding your pet's needs.
“People treat animals like they're people, and they treat us like we're their kind,” she says. For example, dogs often bite each other out of play, but owners should stress that this type of behavior is not acceptable when playing with people. Work with your pet to manage their behavior so everyone is happy.
Maintain medical records
If your pet has no parasites and is healthy, they probably won't transmit diseases to humans, Hendricks points out. When you first get a young pet, you will need to visit a vet several times for a series of vaccinations. Dogs and cats should also be dewormed by a veterinarian, recommends the CDC. Hendricks adds that it's a good idea to see a vet at least once a year for the animal's welfare, even if there doesn't seem to be a problem.
A pet's teeth can often be overlooked, she says. Dogs, for example, can contract periodontal or gum disease, which makes them sick, makes feeding painful and gives them bad breath, she says. Veterinarians often encourage owners to brush their dog's teeth. Maintaining healthy teeth can avoid heavy vet bills later on, as some dogs have to have their teeth pulled out or anesthetized for cleaning.
If you notice that your dog is losing weight, either slowly or rapidly, a veterinarian should be contacted to determine the cause. Therefore, your dogs need pet health insurance to get regular and professional treatment.
Several pet insurance companies provide general Pet Insurance and specific Cat Insurance and Dog Insurance, so on and so forth. So you have an option to choose the best cat insurance for your furry buddy. This will not only be of great help during major medical requirements but will also prove to be of aid when you plan to buy toys, accessories and during regular medical checkups and vaccinations.

5 foods that boost memory and focus
Brain is one of the most critical organs of our body. The relationship between food habits and Brain’s health is established by science. Today’s food habit decide your tomorrow’s brain health. Improper food habits may create disorders like Alzheimer, short-term memory, loss of intellectuality, etc. So, to prevent these brain-related disorders we should develop a good food habit in well advance. That is where the nutrition part comes into focus like our brain wants. In this article, we will see which foods improve our memory and focus and why?
1.       Blueberries(or can be rightly termed as ‘Brain berries’)
Blueberries are delicious balls of sweetness power-packed with antioxidants. These antioxidants stimulates the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain and keeps the mind fresh.
The cocktail of antioxidants includes anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, resveratrol and tannins. While I am not going to go into much depth about what these are in this article, they for sure have shown to boost focus and even protect against cancer, heart disease, and dementia.
Thanks to their dark skin which is so rich in disease-fighting compounds. You can use them liberally in everything from pancakes and tarts and to cheesecake and jam. You can even toss them in a salad for an unexpected burst of sweetness.
2.       Turmeric
Here is what science says happens to your brain when you eat turmeric every day!
Widely used as a preventative treatment alternative for various chronic and acute conditions, it also helps treat Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, allergies, arthritis, and diabetes.
 Ø  Protects yourself from Alzheimer’s.
Two prominent brain scientists discovered that turmeric has been found to both fight the common signs of Alzheimer’s disease and improve the memory of these patients. The positive effects of curcumin lowers inflammation and fights disease-causing free radicals.
 Ø  Boosts your brain cells.
Various studies shows that an active ingredient in turmeric, called aromatic-turmerone (a-turmerone), may increase the growth of neural stem cells by as much as 80 percent
Active forms of turmeric may prevent and potentially reverse cognitive decline including the inevitable weakening of brain functions that results from dementia.
Ø  Heals your brain.
Perhaps the most powerful benefit of turmeric is as a protective agent of the brain. Most people do not realize the potentially damaging stuff that the brain contends with every day. When we breathe in toxins, they go to the brain. If we get hit in the head, the brain is damaged. When we drink alcohol, brain cells die. Thus, our brain needs more protection than we realize. Amazing though your brain may be, it is still made up of soft and delicate tissue. As with the tissue that lies underneath the surface of the skin, the brain is vulnerable to physical trauma and damage.
More is at stake when damage occurs in the brain.  This is because your brain is what makes you. In your quest to take care of it, you may want to consider some quality turmeric or just make some homemade Indian curry or try raw turmeric pickle (kacchahaldi).
 3.       Seeds – Flaxseeds and Pumpkin seeds
Flax seeds are high in magnesium, B-vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and fibre, all which aid with mental clarity, weight loss, and ultimately, focus.Flax is no doubt a super food. Just make sure you grind them after you buy them (so your body can digest them). Flax seeds can’t be eaten alone but they’re great sprinkled on cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, salad and more.
Pumpkin seeds - While carving your Halloween pumpkin in your house party, don’t throw away the seeds! Wondering why? As these little gems are packed with nutrients and antioxidants which are good for your brain.
Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are an excellent source of magnesium, zinc, copper and iron, all of which are key minerals for brain health.
Ø  Magnesium: Magnesium is essential for a well-functioning nervous system. It supports brain development, memory and learning. Low magnesium levels may increase health issues related to neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, migraine, epilepsy, anxiety and depression.
Ø  Zinc: Zinc plays a critical role in regulating communication between brain cells that impact brain development, memory and learning. Zinc deficiency has been linked to many neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, schizophrenia and depression.
Ø  Copper: Copper plays an important role in brain function and development and is required for essential enzymes that help supply energy to the brain. It is important to keep a proper balance of copper. Both too little or too much can cause brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Menkes, or Wilson’s disease.
Ø  Iron: Iron proteins play a key role in normal brain function and development. Iron deficiency can cause fatigue, headaches and anxiety, and is a widely known cause of impaired cognitive, language, and motor development
 4.       Avocados
Avocados contain high quantities of monounsaturated fatty acids. A study found that monounsaturated fatty acids help protect glial cells in the brain called astrocytes, which provide support to the information-carrying nerves. The monounsaturated fats improved the brain’s ability to control muscles in animals with impaired astrocyte function. Avocados are also utilized in diets designed for individuals with neurological disorders, like epilepsy, because of the neuroprotective abilities the monounsaturated fatty acids have. Every organ in the body depends on blood flow, especially the heart and brain and avocados enhance blood flow, offering a simple, tasty way to fire up brain cells.
 5.       Dark chocolate (dark chocolate, not the sugary, milky kind)
Dark chocolatecan help you focus for several reasons. First, it contains a small amount of caffeine, which has been proven to heighten mental alertness. Dark chocolate contains magnesium, which helps you de-stress, and it also stimulates the release of endorphins and serotonin, which make you feel good and heighten your mood. This doesn’t mean you should eat a huge brick of chocolate every day, like the delicious looking one on the right, but it does mean that dark chocolate in smaller doses can significantly boost your focus.
Just eating foods good for our brain is not enough. Along with the nourishment, we need to also protect our brain from threats.
Some of the brain threats and brain protectors are as follows.
Threats to our brain
Saturated     fats: like animal fat, butter, cheese, cream, etc.
Trans     fat: used in processing foods like pizza, burger, etc.
Heavy     metals: Food contaminated by iron; aluminium made cooking     utensils. Fish brought in the factory waste contaminated water.
Excess     copper: Excess copper may come in the water from copper made pipe     for water and Copper made cooking utensils.
Brain protectors

Memory Boosters
*Some memory boosters given below may help if you are an office employee to get relief from office stress(which is quite common these days) or a student getting ready for a competitive exam and wants to improve the academic performance.
Ashwagandha is an indigenous herb which boosts brain     functions.
Shankapushpi,a     widely used Ayurvedic herb which improves memory and helps in improving     one’s nervous system.

FOOD:  Meats. Venisons, chicken, beef, if it includes some sort of heavy meat he’ll probably enjoy it. DRINK: Hard liqour. Beer’s still his thing. PIZZA TOPPING: Anything. COLOUR: Red, gold. MUSIC GENRE: A rock/metal kind of guy, but he’s also into ballads and classical works like operas, despite what you might think. BOOK GENRE: It’s the cover that counts. ( No seriously if he likes the aesthetic of a book itself and not necessarily its words, he’ll keep it. ) MOVIE GENRE: Anything intellectually or aesthetically stimulating is best. Comedy might go over his head, and he’s not really one to connect properly with emotional pieces.  SEASON: Summer. CURSE WORD: Damn. SCENT(S): charcoal, rust, copper; smells like cash money. also cologne, because he does use it.
fun stuff.
BOTTOM OR TOP: power bottom. SINGS IN THE SHOWER: he hums. LIKES BAD PUNS: depends on the pun. if it’s in bad taste expect him to be unimpressed.
