I'm in a restaurant for the second time since 2020 (possibly 2019 actually) and it turns out I really just don't like restaurants.

#the first time was my nephew's confirmation #and this time is only because it's my partner's favourite restaurant and they're closing soon #but damn I really hate it #it's not even anxiety. it just sucks. it's loud. it smells (good but it's still overwhelming). there's people everywhere. no I really just #don't like this 🙃#I can't understand anything he or the waiter say #the only aspect I like is the food and I can have that at home without feeling completely overwhelmed 😭😭😭#and I got the wrong drink which would have been fine but it's something I don't like so I had to say it's wrong. and she just looked at me #like I was insane 🤷 and like I had definitely ordered that. which I know I definitely did not. I don't like it #none of this is enjoyable #personal

Season 2 episode 2 is almost nothing but misery and anguish #Helena by Nickle Creek does not quite fit the comic's vibe but it is absolutely a Xue Yang song so I linked it.#The change from “Helena don't walk away...(gentle)” to “HELENA. DON'T WALK AWAY (threat)” is fantastic.#And “Don't waste your pretty sympathy - I'll always be just fine”. Xue Yang core.#Okay now for the real meat. Disclaimer first: *I really like XY.* I think he's a great character. I think his actions consistently-#come from a place of deep trauma. While his reactions and actions put him in a villainous role he is still human about his hurt #and what I'm about to say is NOT intended to be a statement of causality or villianize a group of misunderstood people.#So with that said...Man oh man does Xue Yang have a lot of BPD traits. More that just 'character who is chronically manipulative'.#The impulsivity and emotional reactions and seeking stability makes him feel like he needs that control. What other choice is there?#The part that really gets me is how he *wants* to be safe and happy. But his past experiences tell him how thats impossible #He's the kind of person who goes 'if you don't like me then you better hate me for something substantial". All (pos) or All (neg)#''Love me entirely or Hate me. But don't you dare leave me or forget about me.''#Not at all comfortable saying 'BPD coded'. Im not a psychiatrist. Just that he has TRAITS. i know that jiang cheng and liu qingge fill in similar roles in their respective mxtx stories (2nd male lead-esque, kind of tsundere, good at fighting etc.) but equating the two just feels incomparably worng to me.

idk how else to phrase this but liu qingge is a lot more honorable about the fact that his feelings towards the protagonist, romantic or otherwise, are unrequited. he never ONCE seems to think or act like shen qingqiu has slighted him.

liu qingge doesn't treat shen qingqiu like the man owes him something. he's a loyal guard dog type protecting shen qingqiu wherever possible, straightforward with his thoughts instead of obfuscating any bitterness or disagreements with passive-aggression, and most importantly he respects shen qingqiu's decisions even when he hates them and leaves him alone instead of badgering or insulting him.

none of which jiang cheng did with wei wuxian, past or present.
