I Know What You Are... You Are Mega Man!

The differences between each Mega is something I love and appreciate, plus it's also fun to compare them side-by-side for it.

I think it's really amusing how they start with robots that slowly reach near-human traits, and then there's a straight-up human. Albeit, he is merged with a non-human being.

And then there's Volnutt. I know he could probably be narrowed down to an "artificial human", but I like the idea of tying him to his celestial origins as Trigger that are still half a mystery.

Such is my running-joke with him. He is just... Volnutt (currently).

Ohiwe (lady) and Ohime (man) aka the fire deity after they get punished.

Originally just "Oh", the fire deity had a bit too much fun with punishing humans and so in a means to stop them, the elder gods split them into two. So now they have to be together in order to have their "full" power but as before the split, they get restless and like to wander. So while one stays in their city, the other gets to go out and travel and see the world and check on the other deities.

Also, as a whole/singular being Oh would use they/them. After the split however, it's definitely not the same and so Ohiwe likes using female pronouns and Ohime uses male pronouns. That way when discussed as one, it's back to they. That feels best for them.

#my characters #i posted the unified base version to my side blog but they arent very exciting it was just a lil doodle #however as i sit here waiting for my throbbing headache to go away im dying squirtle i figured id try to doodle #before i work on the comm and unfortunately my head still hurts so back to medicine i go #also also ohime is much more mild in his commentary where ohiwe is sharp and harsh #and ohiwe is definitely more fond of running the city than ohime but that also means she gets more restless quicker #so he unfortunately is stuck in the city more than she is because she needs to wander #she still does most of the planning as she wanders and then talks it over with ohime when she returns #i wanna make a funny joke about how they are indeed the last two brain cells type of thing #but also they are on the same wavelength almost all the time cause they started as the same person #but its always a bit of a jump in their logic to other people while they remain on the same page #like ohiwe says something and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS #and everyone else is like no ??? but ohime is like WE HAVE TO TAKE A NAP #or something and ohiwe is like exactly ! glad one of you in the room knows whats up

laying in bed thinking about how Wukong is a people pleaser and this part of him gets frequently overlooked due to the focus on his hot-headedness/impulsivity

#Monkie Kid #lego monkie kid #tagging LMK cause i do think it uses this part of him #to add in events while still having him remain in Character #like of course Azure and the others convinced him to not be afraid and take on heaven #before heaven's army could arrive on his doorstep and force him to fight like in the books #like. he got kicked out of school because the other students encouraged him to show off #this is one hundred percent in character for him #if he got a single compliment he'd go along with whatever that person said when he was young #which is also part of how the Gold Star of Venus convinced him to get a job in Heaven #which Wukong was originally uninterested in #the fight against heaven + the mountain jaded him which made him more easily angered #(yknow. like a reasonable response to trauma)#but EVEN STILL during the Journey HE'S STILL A PEOPLE PLEASER #and then by the time of LMK he's mellowed out more which MAKES SENSE.#i could do a whole entire more formally written analysis about this but this is what i've got #brain cannot brain any more than this #anyways obligatory my opinions are my own and i respect anyone who disagrees with me tag #anyone who has another opinion is wonderful and valid but these are my thoughts

Two things I learned today:

1. Apparently “I miss Marcy” is what I am labeling a NPC phrase give that I just randomly say it for no reason.

2. Somehow seeing my art on any piece of technology including in my own phone gallery catches me off guard. And it makes literally no sense

Also a bunch of stuff on mitosis and biological feedback loops, but I don't think that's really useful here.

When I was a kid my mom wouldn’t let us watch SpongeBob cause it “destroyed your brain cells”. I was instead raised on tv like Scooby Doo, Doctor Who, Robin Hood, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Star Wars. These taught me things like: humanity is capable of great compassion and mass atrocities, the rich and powerful care for none but themselves and will doom the world in the long term if it means they benefit from the short term, fascism bides its time in a politician’s smile, just because someone is born different doesn’t mean they were born wrong, standing up to oppression is always right, it is always morally correct to rebuke laws created from injustice, knowledge is important but not everyone will teach the truth.

As a result I read/listen to audiobooks/lectures often, I do everything I currently can to stand up to injustice, I don’t platform shitty people, I do my part in helping keep folks and the earth safe (i.e. masking), amongst other things

My mother however praises the rich, platforms grifters, takes the “both sides” approach to almost everything, and thinks masking leads to mass violence

My only conclusion to this is that she stayed up every night watching SpongeBob and idealized Mr krabs’ work ethic

#she used to be so smart #and then Covid happened and she lost every single brain cell she had I swear #she’s gotten it 5 or 6 times now #she will purposely get my little siblings sick with it cause ‘herd immunity’#she doesn’t care that I’m disabled and live with my elderly grandmother with an auto immune disorder #she praises musk rogan and peterson #idk what happened y’all #sometimes she’s okay and then sometimes she’s pushing for me to watch the most disgusting transphobic shit #she started using they/them pronouns for me only after I dropped them and solely used he/him #but she’ll victimize the fuck out of herself if I call her out on it #I still love her but fuck is it hard remaining in contact sometimes

i feel embarrassed saying this about a fanfic writer who like, apparently helped actually found ao3 and has posted plenty of cringe on their profile, but astolat's transformers fics are some of my favorite transformers media ever, on par with and possibly even outstripping(?) mtmte, and my number one inspiration forever when it comes to writing robots. i'm always rereading them

#they definitely outstrip mtmte in the politics area #mtmte has a better take on the ''megatron used to be a revolutionary'' trope than the ''he was a RADICAL and that was BAD''#of other continuities like tfp/aligned #but still falls victim to the inevitable horseshoe theory stuff (even more so by explicitly invoking imagery of both communism and fascism)#because in the end the decepticons still have to be the bad guys for the fundamental transformers premise to remain intact #and astolat's fics sidestep that entirely by having the decepticons /not/ be the bad guys #they're ruthless and scary but they're (mostly) right.#always tickles my brain soooo good
