oftentimes i wish you had written worm instead of wildbow because of your knowledge of the conventions of superhero media and your interest in their intricacies

I'm drawn by the siren song of online flattery, but the thing is that being able to pick apart the conventions of superhero media is the main thing I'm good at, writing-wise. Wildbow's got the same analytical knack, that same interest, it's threaded through Worm at every level and it's what keeps me anchored to the work five years on like a moth circling a flame. But on top of that he also has the mutant demon-pact work ethic and unified artistic vision necessary to actually get the book written, whereas I haven't ever completed a piece of fiction that wasn't hanging around my GPA like an out-of-major albatross.

Pearls are a joker. They're made for x gem and designed after so it can pretty much look after anything orange-themed if you think about it.

Ulexite however!

Ulexite, also known as TV Stone, is a sentinent TV Stone while Ulexite (to me) is a polished TV Stone that looks more like gems we're familiar with.

TV Stones are able to transmit light thanks to their internal reflection (AKA those stripes that are their gemstone). However, they serve as portals since their gemstones are not polished and can't show an image of what may be on the other side (like Ulexite would).

They serve as portals in a way that they need to be connected to another TV Stone (that needs to be in the same planet/moon), by selecting a channel (this case, being another TV Stone, not a show). Since they can transmit light and gems are made of light, they're "personal portals" in a way haha.

I imagine that depending on the planet/moon, each has a different shape as if to "mark" where are they made from. They can walk around, but they're more of an order-following gem. Not sure of their size tho..

In real life, TV Stones are called that due to its unusual optical properties, basically that their natural fibers act as optical fibers that can trasmit light and polished, will display objects in front of them! I totally didn't grab the stone info and translated it to SU lore.

Thanks so much for asking first of all. I’ve been thinking about this a whole lot (even before I drew the first plushie here) and I think I’ve finally decided that at least for now, I won’t be taking submissions for plushie ratings. Without getting too serious, the main reason is that I’m afraid that it will stop feeling as fun as it does now. I also really enjoy how happy people seem to be when they see a surprise rating that they weren’t expecting, which would happen much less often if I was spending time drawing submissions, too. I really hope that everyone understands

Thanks so much! Since I didn't expect Cascada to be such an enduring bit, I never added a perpetrator tag for it. That tag is just for Cats references. So that's not a mistake!

But since the bit seems to be sticking around—do y'all want me to start tracking the perpetrator of Cascada references, too? Most likely, I would change the old tag to "cats perpetrator: name" and add a "cascada perpetrator: name" tag as well.

Not a big Edgar guy myself (much love to those who are) & I have a harder time imagining him in (romantic) pairings since he’s seemingly a bit asocial and a little displeased with everyone around him. So I feel as though it’d take a lot of time and effort to get on his good side. (I have not read up on most idv character’s lore in years so correct me if I’m wrong.)

I think Edgar (like most of the cast) would be a bit off-put by Florian just because… he’s like That… I’d personally be more interested in how they develop as allies or teammates before anything else though :3

Hey Sab! I just want to let you know that if you live in an area that has a bubbletea shop called The Alley, they're doing a Jujutsu Kaisen collab right now until Jan 31st. Basically, they have cardboard cutouts of Satoru and Suguru, and they have special drinks that are meant to represent those two. Usually I think their drinks are too expensive for bubbletea, but damn I'll pay the 8$ anyday if it's for Satoru's coconut drink ~~and to have his white cream down my throat~~

Not sure what you mean by "separating" it from the romantic inclinations. Like just remove it from the Crown's romantic behavior altogether?

If that's what you mean, then no, I'm not going to do that. We're 10 chapters in with thousands of words already written for how the passive/assertive mechanic works. But even if I could go back and edit it without wasting massive amounts of time, I still wouldn't.

I designed it this way because it allows consistent characterization, as well as being easier to code and write. You as a person, in real life, might have preferences in how you act that vary from situation to situation depending on multiple factors, but I am absolutely not going to account for that in an interactive fiction game.

The Crown as a character canonically has two possible preferences: they either act assertively or passively in romantic situations. That's the long and the short of it. These two traits are affected by whether the Crown is flirtatious or reserved, so there is added nuance there for what type of assertive or passive your Crown is, but that's it.

It's the same as how the Crown's other character traits are applied. They are either blunt or charismatic, calculating or kind. It's the whole foundation for having their personality traits locked in after a certain point: again, consistent characterization and a more in-depth, more extensive amount of variability (and replayability) in romance scenes as a result.

Realize I'm already writing 12 different personality variables. No thank you on the extra work.
