sitting on the couch or in bed together after a long day being able to take comfort in knowing the other is there, even if they cant really help

So it's 01.22am in here, but I can't sleep cause my neighbour is partying and they literally sings right in front of my window WTF!

So I decided to makes a blog about the detail if the rings replacement on The Hobbit, my headcanons ofc! And the character is Thranduil and his 4 rings

He wore 4 rings on his finger. His gem (ruler) ring, his snake ring, and his twin wood rings. And this is my headcanon about the meaning behind all his rings

The ruler ring

Why I call this ring, his ruler ring. Cause this ring is the only ring with gem on it. And he placed this ring on his index finger.

Usually a kings, queens, lords, or simply a ruler will place the ruler ring on their index finger. The purpose on that is when the subject demand to meet with the ruler, the subject will kiss the ring as the symbol of their loyalty. And not just that, In medieval Europe, wearing a ring on the index finger signified power and prestige. The index finger usually carried a signet or crest ring to show off an individual’s wealth and familial status.

And the ruler ring is usually they inherit from the previous ruler. So in my headcanon this ring his inherit from his father, King Oropher. As the previous ruler

His snake shape ring

My opinion is divided in two for this ring. 1st that this ring is symbolic that he's the one who defeat the great serpents of the north. That's why the ring on a snake shape. And the 2nd one, is this ring is his wedding band. He placed this ring on his ring finger, and the colour is gold. The common colour for wedding band.

And he's not the only one who wear his wedding band even after his partner departured to Valinor. Elrond also wore his wedding band on his finger. So this there's a posibility that this ring is his wedding band.

His twin rings

He wore this twin rings on hir right hand. One on his index finger, and the other one on his ring finger.

The shapes of this rings is in a wood shapes, and the colour is like the colour of the stones. The meaning behind this rings is that he declared himself king of wood and stone. as Peter Jackson called him. There's also other meaning behind the rings replacement but I'm not gonna write it. Cause that's not necesarry for now

I literally need more than 4 days for analyzed this kind of post.
